14. Favorite book you read this year?

I fell in love with the Crazy Rich Asians trilogy by Kevin Kwan this year. Those books are SO funny and interesting and smart, I had a blast ripping through them and I definitely want to reread them again soon. Rachel Chu & Nick Young’s lovestory is like the purest thing ever, I love them so much.  

15. What’s a bad habit you picked up this year?

Welllllllll…. 😂😂😂 *sweats* There were definitely times this year when I was so obsessed with a story I was writing that I couldn’t bring myself to do Adult Tasks that really needed doing. I had a genuine mental block, I just couldn’t make myself do it. I put off a lot of things to the absolute last minute 😂 like taxes and various work tasks (i’m self employed, so if I don’t do it, The Things do not get done). I did manage to pull it off but maybe with some erm added stress that was totally my own fault.

I was thinking about this even before you asked, like what the fuck was my deal? Because I’m definitely feeling different/better now, despite the stress of the holidays. I usually don’t have a problem getting stuff done. I always turned my homework in on time LOL like I feel like once upon a time I had my shit together.

But I think the pandemic warped my brain. I was the primary breadwinner that year and the year after, i didn’t have any time to do any art at all, I didn’t get to chill at home because I work at home, it was just GRIND GRIND GRIND trying not to drown in bills and take care of my family. This year I got a little break and my brain was like “bitch you’re making THE ART!” Maybe this is way more information than you actually wanted 😂 i'm sorry.  There is probably something really telling here, like is this why I'm drawn to stories about scary rich men who kidnap reader and take care of everything for her whether she likes it or not? 🤣 Being a Girl Boss is haaard!    

24.  Did you keep any New Year’s Resolutions?

Usually I do make some resolutions but I don’t remember making ANY last year 😂. My auntie took my husband and I on a cruise around South America to Antarctica last December/January. It was so surreal being surrounded by icebergs on a big ass ship I don’t think I was thinking about resolutions at home at all. 😂 I was thinking about penguins and shore excursions and being sea sick and John Wick fic 🤣🤣. And I haven’t finished EITHER of the fics I was brainstorming about then! The NurseHelen x John one, and the Helen’sSisterReader x John one. Maybe that should be my resolution this year? I guess back in October I decided to get back into jogging/exercising and I have been keeping up with that. So that’s cool… 😬 Wow I feel like a fucking mess here 🤣 this is probably way too much information but I want to be honest with you guys, so this is Behind The Scenes here at Julia Inc.
