I had a dream last night in which I was reading? or in the process of writing? not clear? an Arthurian-legend AU Twilight fanfic and I the only part I remembered when I woke up was who was playing what part and in the sober light of day and with the gift of actual coherent thought, this doesn't make a whole lot of sense. But in the dream it was like, YES! GENIUS!

Forgotten Man's Symphony

his (louis manoir) character is basically a spin off from a character mentioned in the novel frankensetin exactly (1) time by name in elizabeth's letter and by far he is the most organised oc of mine cuz we do actually have a clean, understandable summary doc (thought it is a tad bit outdated but its okay). shes like the most Normal narrative-wise i suppose so i'm not exactly sure on how to explain the plot of forgotten man's symphony it's just like??? him ruining his life in front of the reader and then #Healing?? i guess?? the story is an epistolary that starts with louis' Suicide Letter. so like. yeah. BUT!! i suppose i would say his story very much concerns the concept of like identity (including gender and such she would be considred either transfemme/bigender by the modern world but also idfk cuz i made her complicated and confusing on purpose) and also the lack thereof + the negative impact that comes with trying so hard to fit into the societal norms and what people Want you to be but you just Can't be, cutting away bits of yourself to fit through some sort of hole representing the perfect version of you until theres nothing left of Who You Are expect a palatable and small version yk?? and the the endless pursuit of wanting to be loved that leads yourself to changing and changing for people who just wont care or love you for realsies + @rosaniruby 's words "making it even like that so its not YOU who is loving and being loved but the dim visage of a version of you that fits the picture of what society loves; that it's not a love between individuals, it's the love for a society that cannot ever love anything because it was made to hate. and who believes that portrayal of love will not find it and forever be stuck. smth like society loves what it deems as perfect and hates the imperfect, since perfect doesn't exist it can only do the second one. and louis wanted to love perfect victor, hated his own imperfect self. but the perfect victor doesnt exists, and neither does any version of louis."

Domus Carnis: The Transmutation of Guinevere Manor

idk if you're aware but i have a hyperfix on architectural horror and i DON'T MEAN SCARY GHOSTS AND SERIAL ILLERS IN AN ABANDONED HOUSE I MEAN HAUNTED HOUSES THAT ARE ALIVE THAT IS A METAPHOR FOR PTSD FROM CHILDHOOD TRAUMA ETC ETC!! this story By making it started my whole obsession with the House it's crazy... scary even.. (i recommend you watch jacob geller's video essay about houses) i really do like domus carnis but it's. Messy to say the least. i do feel as if i ought to change the time period it's set in to avoid talking about the wars going on in the time period i accidentally set it in without realising but im procrastinating on that rn. it was Suppose to be late 1800s to early 1900s..

domus carnis (which literally means flesh house in latin or something) will be written in the POV of a 40ish year old widowed woman by the name of harriet wren's diary entries, occasionally switching to the POV of her 20-something year old godson percival who is like old timey jake paul and hes like either a journalistt or a radio host depending if i choose to change the time period or not. we follow them after harriet's husband dies of whatever and they find out he has a large property in a foreign country of which they had not known of prior

somewhere in germany there is a house of ex-aristocrats that no longer live there that is Alive. the House becomes alive because it is in a sense "possesed" (not haunted) the ghost of kathryna von guinevere who was the last one to die in the house, who, in life, was incredibly obsessed with The House for reasons that i fear are too long to explain without boring you and going into info pre-story?? anyways, when she "posseses" the house, the materials of the house shift to flesh, blood and bone because it Materially becomes her body. now, it would be hard to accurately label what represents what body part, because it's all strangely jumbled up and isn't like really human anatomy either cuz kathryna Can in fact see inside herself?? anyways whatever. now, the house is now both her body AND her mind. i have taken the phrase "haunted by memories/trauma" and turned it literal. the house IS haunted, but most of the ghosts aren't ghosts, theyre mostly all manifestation of Memory from her life because she actively is replaying the speech and actions of other people IN her mind to process the (typically traumatic) events of which she's seen or experienced. the ghosts CANNOT do as they please because they only exist at all Due to kathryna remembering them in these specific scenes. the hauntings include scenes of people, sounds, and shadows. unless the "scene" has a mirror, you cannot see kathy directly because you are witnessin things through HER eyes, which makes memories from wee childhood interesting because im wondering if i should make the "people" seem wayy bigger than the viewer if stuff is replayed from childhood..

i really like the fact that a lot of this is based on memory because it opens a lot of doors to me when it comes to the appearance of hauntings. my friend showed me this video depicting neurons forgetting how a face looks like, and i feel as if i could use that in the story because well, realistically kathy isnt going to have a Pristine memory cuz she Was just a human before, not to mention the fact shes already suppose to have issues on facial recognition/rememberance (my friend with these sisues suggetsed htis). the alteration of the ghosts' bodies could be fucked with even more if i try to make use and research into the way that people (mostly children) can in fact like.... change the image of something traumatic in their brain and make it less scary bc the brain is trying to protect them? yeah. AND ALSO the fact that a lot of people forgets certain aspects of their trauma due to their brain trying to protect them as well but still have this feeling of Unease when it comes o specific things that they cant explain, i could incorporate this feeling in certain areas of the House, the strange uneasiness. i experience that myself so i hope ill portray it right!!

so basically its fantasy world but not like. Completely new high fantasy i very loosely based the countries off of like real countries and stuff bc lazy as shite so its like mid fantasy maybe HOWEVER

basically its set in this world where theres a shit ton of religions and gods and shit and theres three categories of religions (the world is veyr uhnm. Categorical idk): earth, science and the arts. basically the arts religions are the majority and the gods of those religions are called the muses so thats what i'll be calling them from now on. the basic plot of epinicium is about the muses of the music religion declaring that humanity doesnt treat music as "holy enough" anymore and taking it away as a whole (songbirds go extinct as well which is importnat) which also fucks up the other arts religionsdue to the fact that artforms are very connected but they still exist yk and centuries later our main cast attempts to bring it back!!! we have this server with a channel that has the "summary" but its not a real summary its just an already outdated infodump but we are Trying to fill this doc but we're failing really hard but friendship is magic idk.

Você se lembra agora, embora as memórias pareçam... estranhas. Fabricadas. Como se você não tivesse vivido a noite, apenas ouvido falar dela.

Camelot caiu. Assim como Pride Lands no outro dia. O Legítimo Rei Arthur acionou os Cavaleiros da Távola Redonda e, juntos, foram até Camelot para salvarem aqueles que ficaram para trás; aqueles que não vieram para o Reino dos Perdidos, para onde as acomodações de Camelot foram transferidas... Os mais comuns, que tinham casas para cuidar e famílias para manter mesmo na ausência da Corte. Nem todos voltaram dessa missão. Lancelot, o protetor da Legítima Rainha Guinevere, pereceu protegendo Arthur de um...

Você não sabe dizer. Mas algo aconteceu em Camelot e algo matou Lancelot.

No meio disso tudo, um perdido, Jacob Killingham, desapareceu. Você descobriu que não há como voltar para casa. A Academia da Magia falhou — você não lembra como, apenas sabe que falharam — e nem toda a magia daquele mundo foi capaz de criar uma saída.

O funcionamento do Reino dos Perdidos não será alterado e, por medidas de segurança, a permanência nele é indiscutível.

Perdidos deverão seguir alojados no Centro de Contenção de Crise, onde continuarão os seus estudos conduzidos somente pelo Sr. Feiticeiro até segunda ordem. Aqueles que não comparecerem às aulas levarão uma multa e deverão cumprir serviços comunitários.

A Academia da Magia se encontra temporariamente fechada, com as suas atividades suspensas. Os seus representantes farão viagens pelos reinos do Mundo das Histórias a fim de descobrir o que está acontecendo. O Sr. Feiticeiro e Morgana serão os únicos que ficarão no Reino dos Perdidos pelo momento, cumprindo com as suas funções como conselheiros da Magia.

A ordem deve continuar. Estaremos juntos e não desistiremos."

Você segue com o seu dia e percebe que não é o único que tem questionamentos sobre a noite anterior. Todos parecem confusos. As mesmas perguntas pairam no ar:

Mesmo quando você questiona Feiticeiro e Morgana, percebe que eles não têm respostas. Não porquê estão mentindo, mas porquê... Não têm. Eles estão tão confusos e desesperados quanto você; só precisam esconder melhor. Merlin tem a resposta? Você adoraria descobrir, mas não o encontra em nenhum lugar — ele viajou com os outros, é claro.

Então as coisas continuam. O dia continua. Você comparece ao velório de Lancelot e percebe o quão apática a Rainha está. Ela não está chorando como alguns dos Cavaleiros, amigos de longa data de Lancelot, e nem parece prestes a picotar alguém com a Excalibur como Arthur. Ela só está... ali.

No fim do dia, você está no seu quarto. Ninguém parece ter ânimo para fazer nada hoje. Os estabelecimentos estão fechados, os antigos moradores do Mundo das Histórias estão tentando processar a destruição de mais um reino... E os perdidos não estão tão bem humorados também, então sem noite de jogos ou bebedeiras. Você acaba lendo um livro, brincando com algo mágico que comprou em uma lojinha, ou só observando o céu mudar com a chegada das duas luas até que você pega no sono.

E acorda com os doze badalares do Relógio da Fada Madrinha no centro do Reino, que você consegue escutar do seu quarto.

No primeiro badalar, você se sente nauseado.

No segundo badalar, a sua pele começa a queimar.

No terceiro, você consegue se olhar no espelho e vê que algo está mudando.

No quarto, você está diferente. Você não é você, mas a versão que encontrou na Biblioteca dos Espelhos na última noite.

No quinto, você sente medo de que isso signifique que o futuro começou.

No sexto, você busca pelos rostos de seus familiares e não consegue se lembrar deles.

No sétimo, você esquece o seu nome.

No oitavo, você fecha os olhos porque tudo está girando e girando...

No nono, você já não está mais dentro do seu quarto. Você está em outro lugar. Um navio, um castelo, um pântano.

No décimo, você grita por ajuda, mas ninguém aparece.

No décimo primeiro, você ouve uma voz dizer: Está começando.

No décimo segundo, você perde a consciência e acorda de volta em sua cama. Você está ofegante. O seu corpo ainda dói. Você sabe que não foi um sonho.

O véu entre o presente e o futuro finalmente se rompeu.

OOC — PRESTEM MUITA ATENÇÃO NESTA LEITURA!

A partir de agora, os personagens perdidos e canons começarão a ter mais contato com as suas versões futuras. Abaixo vocês encontrarão um guia sobre o que acontecerá com cada tipo de personagem.

Antes de mais nada, essas transformações NÃO SÃO DIÁRIAS! Elas são irregulares e podem acontecer em uma noite por semana, em algumas noites seguidas e depois parar... São irregulares! Deverão ser desenvolvidas com calma.

Personagens transmorfos/que viram animais: passarão a se transformar em suas versões animalísticas à meia noite e voltarão às versões humanas com o nascer do sol. Eles conseguem falar em suas versões animais/bestas, mas podem perder o controle. Personagens como Lobo Mau, Fera, Tiana, Naveen... Ou seja, personagens que possuem histórico com versões animais/bestas em suas histórias originais TAMBÉM se transformarão e no caso de personagens como Lobo Mau e Fera, podem perder o controle! Isso não está limitado aos perdidos.

Personagens sereias/peixes: personagens sereias como Ariel ou peixes como Salmão Amaldiçoado terão o mesmo efeito que os personagens transmorfos, transformando-se à meia noite sem poder sair do mar até o nascer do sol.

Personagens com magia: personagens que ganham magia em suas versões futuras se verão tendo dificuldade em controlá-la no período da meia noite até o nascer do sol. Isso quer dizer que uma personagem fada estará voando de maneira desorientada, ou fazendo magia sem querer. Um personagem mago poderá mexer as mãos e lançar um feitiço que não queria ser lançado. Isso também acontecerá com personagens que possuem magia inerente, como Elsa ou Úrsula. A magia ficará descontrolada durante as horas entre a meia noite e o nascer do sol.

Personagens que morrem: personagens que morrem nos contos futuros, como Lefou, Romeu e Tadeu, etc, começarão a vomitar pétalas de flores, estas que vocês escolherão de acordo com a personalidade de seus personagens! Eles se sentirão fracos quando a flor sair de seus corpos, além de sentirem fortes dores que os manterão acordados a noite toda. Nenhuma poção ou magia curará o que eles sentem, apenas o nascer do sol.

Personagens que não possuem nenhum dos acima: as memórias os deixarão atordoados. Perdidos como Caçador Sanguinário irão atrás de seus instintos, ou seja, poderão colocar personagens ou a si mesmo em risco (Caçador Sanguinário sentirá a urgência de matar a Branca de Neve; Navegador Solitário se arriscará no mar; Tarzan irá correndo para a floresta no meio da noite, Robin Hood começará a roubar pessoas do Reino dos Perdidos, personagens que manejam armas em suas versões futuras buscarão constantemente por elas, personagens que perdem alguém ficarão desesperados em proteger essa pessoa sem saber o que é real ou não, etc...). As memórias ficarão muito bagunçadas nesse período para eles! E vocês poderão criar detalhes para as versões futuras para ajudar nisso.

Após o nascer do sol, todos normalizam. PORÉM, os personagens originais dos contos terão as suas memórias e sentimentos bagunçados mesmo FORA do período da meia noite, embora em uma intensidade menor. Haverão momentos em que eles não saberão mais dizer o que aconteceu de verdade e o que é parte da história nova/modificada. Isso também não deverá ser feito com pressa! Por favor, desenvolvam essa confusão aos poucos.

MAIS INFORMAÇÕES:

Nenhuma poção ou magia impedirá que essas coisas aconteçam, mas personagens mágicos podem tentar, assim como personagens podem ir atrás de poções.

Repito: tudo deverá ser feito COM CALMA. Não vai ser do dia para a noite que a Elsa vai esquecer tudo que aconteceu em Frozen e se lembrar só da Garota de Fogo. Isso vai levar tempo, mas as memórias ESTARÃO, de fato, confusas!

Como dito antes, não é todos os dias que acontece com todos os perdidos e canons, então SIM, um perdido que perde o controle como animal pode ser socorrido por outros perdidos ou canons. Vocês podem e devem fazer interações onde um personagem está preso em sua forma futura e outro não/está tentando ajudar.

De resto, conduzam seus jogos normalmente desenvolvendo essa nova fase com calma! Postem POVs, starters, o que der na telha! O limite é o céu em relação à criatividade de vocês e o que vocês podem fazer dentro do universo. Sente que o personagem não encaixou em nada que eu pré-estabeleci? Pode criar algo para ele, ou vir falar comigo para ideias!

Essa semana, postarei no @jornalmagico um anúncio importante sobre a nova guarda real que permitirá que vocês apliquem para ela. Também teremos uma task sobre as versões futuras dos personagens para ajudar no desenvolvimento das memórias. E ainda esse mês, falaremos sobre a permanência oficial dos perdidos no Mundo das Histórias (os tão esperados empregos). Não quis colocar tudo aqui porque é muita coisa para absorver!

Lembrando que vocês podem continuar as interações da parte 1 e 2 do evento. A parte 1 precisa ser colocada em flashback, mas a parte 2 não, vocês ainda podem começar interações nela durante essa semana.

he's grinning ear to ear now that he knows she feels the same way. jacob doesn't even think to ask if she was still with her boyfriend - because if she was, she wouldn't be playing along. his breath catches in his throat as she gently traces his jaw with her fingers, sending chills down his spine. god, he had waited so long for this moment. the uber couldn't get here fast enough.

she's tugging on his hand and he follows, pushing through the crowd towards the exit. once they are outside, he wastes no time pulling guinevere close, hands placed on her hips. "you look so beautiful tonight." he compliments before leaning forward, capturing her lips once more in a kiss, this time with more passion, if that were even possible.

a gray accord pulls up to the curb. jacob glances down at his phone to confirm it was their ride before opening the door, allowing her to get into the backseat before he followed. after a brief exchange between himself and the driver, he grabs her hand and sits in silence. he's counting down the seconds to when they arrive at his apartment. he cannot wait.

for a split second, she can hear a voice in the back of her mind telling her not to do this, given the circumstances that this wasn’t right. but, those thoughts are quickly drowned out by the shitty music playing in the background, and by how he was looking at her. “ like you’d ever lose me. “ her fingers moved from his jaw, down to the front of his chest, pulling herself slightly away so he could get to his phone. she hated how they were still in the bar, surrounded by a bunch of drunken townies and college kids that kept picking the worst songs on the jukebox. she wanted to leave, she wanted to be able to kiss him again, and she wanted to know what it was like to have his hands on her.  “ your place. “ she nods in agreement, her teeth sinking into her bottom lip while her fingers continue to trail down his chest, stopping to rest her palm at the center of his chest. “ yes. “ she nods, taking a breath. “ i want to do this. “ she assures him, even giving him a small smile as she moves forward again, to press her lips to the corner of his, lingering there for a brief second before she pulls away, this time taking her hand in his. “ let’s wait outside. “ the blonde tugs at his hand to follow her through the crowd and towards the exit.

Something I’ve Been Thinking About in Terms of Arthurian Paganism:

And it deals with Lancelot Du Lac.

Something I find super interesting as I interact with Arthuriana on Tumblr and read/listen to books about King Arthur is how I view Lancelot Du Lac in the greater context of my paganism journey with this pantheon.

I��ll admit that Lancelot is not my favorite knight as a character, and I have not reached out to him as a deity, but Lancelot du Lac as a literary device is fascinating—and has somewhat shaped one of my domains for him.

Lancelot du Lac is a literary device used to explain the cultural trends from the moment he was inserted into canon and onwards. First when Courtly Love became a main trope in literature, Lancelot du Lac represented everything a Courtly Love should be. He did everything for Guinevere and Guinevere, to the best of her station in society, did everything for Lancelot—but they could never be as Guinevere was married to another. Lancelot was used as a vehicle to discuss what intrigued people so much about Courtly Love as well as giving women in loveless marriages a means to escape and think of world where they could be with who they loved.

Then when Courtly Love became a “no no” as shifting cultural values and norms enforced the idea that adultery in any situation was wrong, Lancelot became the vehicle to tell that story in the Post-Vulgate. The reason why Galahad exists to an extent, and, in this telling, the Battle of Camlan, is to show just how much this grievous sin could bring about the damnation of all people’s lives around you. Galahad even warns his father Lancelot to not fall back into his old ways with Guinevere when he returned to Camelot, and, after everything was said and done, the two people who committed the sin of adultery could never be together again—not even in death.

And then everything changed again, and now shipping wars are a more common cultural phenomenon. So the Lancelot/Guinevere/Arthur love triangle became the Arthuriana version of Team Edward VS. Team Jacob. You wrote your retelling picking an end game for Guinevere and Sir Lancelot became the literary vehicle to discuss complicated relationships in a new YA format.

So what does this mean for my pagan path?
