when gabriel refers to the slicing machine, lucas looks at him as though he'd abruptly grown an extra head. a slicing machine? the blond-haired prince was fairly certain he hadn't ever seen such a contraption in his whole life. still, he persists. he needs to prove himself a worthy ally, despite their less than savoury run ins up until this point. he did feel ashamed of how he had treated the other man, but it hadn't ever been intentional. he was a sheltered, little prince, who really had no idea how to communicate with people from his own social standing, let alone anyone else's. although he's growing increasingly concerned over his decision to come to america; it's bound to be the making of him. prepare him to become king in ways dwelling the palace simply couldn't. "oh, right - of course. the slicing machine," he feigns understanding, walking up to the machine like there might be a bomb hidden within it. immediately, he places his fingers exactly where he shouldn't, all too prepared to lose them all in such a quick, and ridiculous accident that would have him regretting all of his life choices up until this point. "is this correct, gabriel?" he asks matter-of-factly, each word spoken so intricately, his accent as formal as it could possibly get.

"he's compromising your safety by isolating you out there." she lets out a sigh, legs crossed together on guin's bed, wearing nothing but her underwear and an oversized tee. "baby, how am i supposed to protect you if i can't even reach you?"

               she  promised  herself  since  the  moment  they  met  that  she  wouldn't  get  too  close  or  at  least  attached  in  the  way  that  was  more  than  friendly.  and  she  had  done  okay  with  it  for  a  while.  but  the  more  time  she  spent  around  him,  the  more  she  found  herself  staring  a  bit  too  long.  he  was  talented,  so  kind  and  someone  she  grew  to  trust  quick.  she  sat  down  her  brush  ,  a  slightly  frustrated  sigh  escaping  her.  she  couldn't  think.  she  couldn't  focus.  it  was  getting  harder  and  harder  to  fight  back  words.   davina's  chin  tilted  up  for  a  moment  as  he  spoke.  "  it's  .  .  .  complicated  .  "  davina  replied  .  so  maybe  she  hadn't  done  entirely  the  best  job  at  hint  dropping.   she  turned  towards  him  .  "  it's  not  that  i  don't  want  to  because  .  .  i  do  .  it's  just  .  .   .  "  she  bit  down  on  her  bottom  lip  .  "  what  exactly  do  you  think  of  me  ?  be  honest  .  "

what they look like : Soft. I think there's a very sweet gentleness to him. His eyes are very captivating, if a bit tired. His fluffy curls are definitely a defining feature and he keeps them nice and lush. There is a scar over his left eyebrow that's pretty obvious. He is very clean. Soft skin, clean hands, short nails a bit torn up from biting them in the past. His eyes also definitely stand out, they're a very unique turquoise shade, very beautiful and vibrant. I think they're more vibrant around water, though. He keeps himself pretty tidy, his fashion simple. He likes baggy clothes, so you'll often see him with sweater paws especially since his hands and feet have a tendency to run ice cold.

what they smell like : Clean. Emphasis there because I think he just smells so clean. Minty fresh, soapy, light. Like fresh linens or seawater. If they do wear scents, I think it's mostly essential oils. They definitely like to wear lava beads on a bracelet and freshen them up with oils every now and again. They also definitely wear lotion all the time. The scent of that is also clean. In fact, I think they probably wear the lotion I'm wearing right now which is Hempz warm vanilla & amber. Or if they want something unscented for the day then I think they go with like a dead sea mineral based lotion.

what they taste like : I assume this is like kiss on the lips type deal...I would say he's definitely minty, fresh, refreshing? Maybe a bit citrusy? He definitely wears some kind of all-natural beeswax based chapstick with a light flavour to it. His lips are very, very soft too, just like the rest of his skin. Light, airy citrus-mint with a sweet hint, I suppose is a good descriptor.

what they sound like : Deep, smooth voice. The kind of voice you would listen to in a podcast to fall asleep. It's got a bit of rasp to it too I think. Just that delicate, tired raspiness in the back of his throat, especially when he whispers or speaks softly it stands out a lot more. Part of that I think has to do with the fact that he is deaf in one ear and can't always hear how loud his volume is. Weirdly, I think that makes him talk quieter rather than louder for fear of overcompensating. His voice is definitely soft and he can have a tendency to mumble if he isn't paying attention.

what they feel like : Soft. Have you noticed the trend? He's a soft boi what can I say? Skin is smooth and delicate. Hands are cold as ice, though, their fingertips often refusing warmth. Behind their ear one might feel a scar and if one touched their throat for any reason they would find a scar there too, though that one is much harder to notice. It's nearly invisible when looking at him, but you could definitely feel its jagged edges if brushed your fingers against it. Aside from cold extremities, though, I think of him as being rather warm and plushy. If that makes sense. Like even though he's thin he gives the squishiest, warmest hugs.

Aiden was used to having people around her at all times lately. If it wasn't her boyfriend, it was a personal guard. she still didn't understand why he constantly wanted her to be watched. Maybe he thought she would run which to his credit she thought of doing. Her boyfriend was at times the nicest to her. he showered her with gifts and attention. He made her her own spot in his mansion where she can work on a car or just read in a garden. She just didn't like the constant guards. Her own way she started to rebel by doing everything she could to break away. she wanted her freedom. she didn't want to feel like a bird in a cage. She wanted to be able to do what she wanted. She was tired of feeling like she had to whatever he wanted. Even if he was nice to her, this was one of the things she did not like about him. At breakfast that morning, he had mentioned hiring a true professional to watch over her. Someone that wasn't his men who he needed for his 'work'. She never asked questions about his job. She knew she didn't want to know. So to prevent an argument, she agreed to the guard. she had waited for him at the garden, reading a book. She was hoping that this one was at least nicer than the others. it was hard to be around someone and not talk to them.
