Percy Jackson was not okay. And that was terrifying.

He sat under the shower, the water falling around him in a dome-like shape; never touching his skin. As if the water didn't want to cleanse him. Maybe he had so much blood on his hands that even the water couldn't clean it.

Get up. He tried to will himself. Get up, everyone is waiting for you. He wish they didn't. He wished they saw what kind of monster he was; a sinner and not the saint everyone thought he was.

On some days, Percy wished Annabeth didn't fall into Tartarus with him. Maybe if he was alone in that pit, he'd wouldn't be alive right now. Maybe everyone would be happier.

His mom wouldn't have to worry herself over whether he was alive every few days. His sister won't have to live with a murderer of a brother. Annabeth won't have to stay with a person who could lose control at any moment now. Grover won't have to call a freak his best friend.

Most they'd do is cry. Mourn. Few days, Few years at most. Then they'd move on. Camp half-blood would get another hero, Annabeth would get another partner, Grover would get another best friend. Sally would still have one child.

"Seaweed brain? you in there?" He heard Annabeth's voice from outside the door, slightly muffled. He didn't want her to see him right now. So broken. No, he was supposed to be the strong one.

"Y-yeah. In here!"

"You okay? Can I come in?" Annabeth saw right through him. Dammit, why did she know him so well?

Taking the silence as an answer, Annabeth slowly twisted the door knob, muttering a small 'coming in', peeking into the bathroom.

What she saw, broke her heart into shards, every one of them poking her uncomfortably. The shower glass was fogged and her Percy was on the floor, knees to his chest, staring at gods know where.

His eyes were a unsettling shade of green.

Not his usual sea-green; the shade that was more comforting to her than any home she had. No, this was a horrifying shade. Blank, dark and void of his usual cheerfulness.

"It won't touch me," he looked up to the shower-head "The water won't touch me." his voice was hoarse, like he had screamed too much, cried too much. "Do I have so much blood on my hands that I don't deserve to be cleaned?"

Annabeth wanted to sob. Hold him and sob. Tell him that no, it wasn't his fault. Nothing was his fault. It was the gods and their stupid plans. It was the gods, always.

Instead she turned off the shower, helping him stand up and brought him to sit on his bed. She soaked a towel in some water, carefully wiping the blood off his face.

This time the water touched him. Cleaned him.

"I'm sorry, Annie" he mumbled quietly; words she never wanted to hear again.

"If you say 'sorry' one more time, I'm going to eat all of Sally's cookies" she chuckled, teasing him, even though tears threatened to fall from her eyes.

"It's not your fault, seaweed brain. Never. It will never be your fault."

"It is though. I'm a murderer, a monster, a freak. I scared you in Tartarus. I've killed more people than my age. I don't deserve what I have"

"You didn't choose to kill people, did you? The gods, the fates, they made you do it. I know that you'd never choose to hurt people if your had a choice. But you didn't Percy. And its not your fault. And in Tartarus, even though I was scared, I know it was necessary. I know you did it to save us. And I know because you promised me, you won't do it again. You're not a murderer, a monster, a freak; you're a kid, Percy. A kid who's gone through too much shit."

Warm tears stained both of their faces, as they sobbed together, Percy on the bed, Annabeth kneeling on the floor. Her arms' were wrapped around his torso and his, around her neck.

Maybe not right now, but Percy Jackson was going to be okay.

"remember who the real enemy is" can we take a moment as a fandom to remember that kronos was the big bad and luke was just a puppet for him

like yes he did bad things but he was literally being manipulated and PUNISHED (canonically, he mentions kronos punished him in tlt) and this started when he was 17 THAT WE KNOW OF it could've started earlier since thalia was meant to be the prophecy child

like luke or not, PLEASE remember kronos is the main antagonist of the first series, luke was just a pawn like the other ta kids

luke castellan is such a complex character and also one of the reason why we cant have multi-layered characters, bcs people are just going to hate on them.

i havent read the pjo books in sooo long, i only reread hoo to prepare for the new series xd, and completely forgot how much i like lukes character. because he is right, he has a really good motive to be the “villain”. you understand his actions really well. i loove how he is written. and percy jackson is such a great protagonist to his antagonist. they are soo similar, percy does think that luke is right, he understands him so much, and i think thats neat.

i really hope, that lukes not gonna get ruined in the series, and they give him the complexity that he deserves going forward as well.

and dont even get me started on charlie bushnell.. i do believe there is no better actor for luke. what he does with the character is phenomenal, he really gives the roll justice. the way he acts with his face, especially in the last episode is on another level. his whole performance reminded me how much i love a great antagonist story, percy really is stubborn, i wouldve joined him in a hearhbeat.

Oooh opinions on the new pjo show so far? Specifically the most recent ep?

oh my god it is so great

like the show overall is everything i wished and more, even tho, yes there are scenes that arent in it that wouldve been great BUT we got sooooo many other scene we never wouldve gotten

like the scenes in the most recent episode. because we have to think realistically here, you cant make the transformation from the book to the series perfect and have everything like it was in the book so the best thing is to have the author do these necessary changes so it wont fuck up the story too much. thats exactly what they did ( they also made it more modern, like not everything that was fine in 2005 is fine now, they also show more modern struggles)

and the most recent episode is just so important to me tbh. walker and leah especially absolutely killed it! the ares casting is literally perfect (THATS MY FATHER RIGHT THERE!) and grover is just so special and everything we needed.

also the seaweed brain... i screamed... loudly... my family was concerned for my wellbeing

I know some people may say that Rachel represents Percy's human side and Annabeth, the demigod side. I agree with them. But, to say that Percy accepted to be what he is, so this way Percabeth is the endgame...

I don't remember the books very well. From i can see people commenting, it looks like Percy always wanted to have a normal life (Rachel). To be with someone he feels comfortable and just be himself, Sally Jackson's son. He likes his human side very much (Rachel). We see him at his best moments just being Percy.

He may have accepted his demigod side (Annabeth), but that doesn't mean he likes it. There are things we just accept because we have to tolerate them since we can't change them anyway. His relationship with Annabeth seems more like something he tolerates because he is already used to be treated "not that well" by other people. That doesn't mean he likes it. Percy only accepts everything Annabeth does to him because they were friends before and Percy can be a lonely boy. So, of course he wouldn't want to be on her bad side. She has more experiences than him in the demigod side. Percy ends up being dependent on her since there aren't many people he can trust. He sees her as someone that can save him from the loneliness. Percy and Grover get separated. So, Percy only has Annabeth. Percy is kind blind right now. Both are using their insecurities with each other. It's not really love in my opinion, more like an infatuation. Percy acts like the victims of abuse that take all the horrible things their partners do as joke or love because it may be some kind of protection their minds do, you know? So, this way they don't get more depressed and realise how miserable their lifes are. They need to have this perfect world that they think it exists in their relationships because they are totally lonely and broken inside.

After everything Percy went through, he needs to believe that something good happened in his life:

His relationship with wise girl. All relationships have flaws, but some just scream "red flags". The toxic partners usually use their emotional sides to keep the victims with them. Their traumas and fears. The victims confuse this with love and still stay with their toxic partners and accept everything they do to them. One side wants to feel loved and cared and the other is also lonely and likes to feel in control of something due to their insecurities.

I'm not a therapist or something like that and i don't remember the books very well. I just commented because i saw many posts talking about the toxic relationship of Percabeth. So, if i said something wrong, i'm sorry and you can correct me (just try to be polite please).

The real Percy without being influenced by his insecurities would want to date a human girl like his mother and stay with his family than risk everything for just a girl. I guess. When people compare Annabeth to his demigod side, just makes it worse because Percy always tries to stay away as possible as he can from this side. They would never work out in real life. They have completely different interests. It's the same to say that the guy wants to have a family, but the girl doesn't. It happened in real life with a famous couple that i won't mention here. They broke up in the end. Rachel could be the only choice that would make sense with Percy. The rest are very related to the demigod life, even Jason and Nico maybe.

“Percy!”, the princess of Athens hissed, helping the boy climb through her bedroom’s window. Her golden-blond hair shone in the moonlight, making her seem even more gorgeous to him. Gods, she looks so pretty when she’s mad. He grinned sheepishly.

How Annabeth Chase, the sharp-witted strategist, heir to the kingdom of Athens, had fallen in love with a common thief was a huge mystery; even to herself, but deep down she knew she had fallen for him the minute he had helped her escape the palace.

“How many times have I told you to not visit me at night?!”, the princess dragged him and made him sit on her bed, “It's so dangerous; guards, soldiers and you could get injured from climbing my tower! It’s almost 7 stories tall for Athena’s sake!”

The thief, who had already stolen her heart, looked at her with a love struck grin. Standing up, he cupped her cheeks and rested his forehead on hers.

“I missed you too much to care about falling and getting caught, wise girl”, he whispered lowly, his voice only audible to her, “And, as a professional thief, these are insignificant risks”

“You really are a seaweed brain.” she shook her head, giggling.

“Jokes aside, Annie”, his voice suddenly had an urgent undertone as he ushered her to sit down, taking a seat beside her himself, “I don’t want to sneak in anymore. I don’t want to meet in secret. I don’t want you to meet any other suitors when I know that I’m the one who has your heart-”

She paused, processing what he had just said. Does he mean-

“-I want to reveal our relationship. I love you and you love me, what’s stopping us?”, he took her hands in his, a hopeful expression on his face.

She pulled her hands back, exasperated. “I’m the heir, the princess. If they found out that I love someone who isn’t a prince, they’ll kill you!” her heart broke at Percy’s dejected expression, but what she said was the truth.

“But I don’t care about what they say or do! We’ll find a way; like we always have”, he looked at her again; his sea-green eyes pleading, voice cracking, “Please?”

“You don’t care, but I do!”, she didn’t recognize the tone she was using, too furious, too loud and seething like venom on her tongue, “I’m not like you. I’m not a thief. I have responsibilities; unlike you I can’t run away from my problems.”

She took a deep breath, trying to think level-head again, failing as she noticed the wounded expression on Percy’s face. “You and me; it’s forbidden. The world wasn’t created equal”, her voice dropped dangerously low.

“Yes it was”, Jaw clenched, eyes blood-shot, his voice hoarse, “then someone decided they were better.”

Percy Jackson left through the same window he had entered through, leaving Annabeth Chase sitting on her bed, regretting the entire conversation.

i am actually happy about most of the change sin the series...

like its so good, rick is able to rewrite his fault from 2005 and make things more modern and yes some scene might be gone but i would trade them for "he isnt that way, he is better than that." any day
