ベトナムジャンパー・大阪仕様の刺繍

そして何よりこちらが大本命の刺繍🪡

以前のコロナ禍の時に友人がインスタに上げていたベトナムジャンパーの大阪仕様の刺繍をずっと良いなあと思っていて、

昨年末から温めていたネタを年明けに自分用にイラストレーターでデータ化して、改めて刺繍屋さんまで持ち込んでカタチにしていただきたいと思って依頼しました。

記念すべき第1号は、MA1で試してみたが、この感じでモッズコートやアーミーシャツなどにも応用できるかもしれない。

手前味噌ではあるけど、古くとも新しい、まさに自分の世界観が広がったような感覚というか確かな手応えを感じており、我ながらいい感じになったと自負しておる次第。

ちなみにミリタリーファッションと左翼との因果関係というか親和性については、1960年���からのベトナム反���運動やヒッピー文化からの流れを汲んでいる部分も少なからずあるから、そこら辺は柔軟に理解を求めたい。

締めにこのきっかけを与えてくれた友人に心より感謝の気持ちを伝えたい。🙏

My Sister, the Serial Killer by Oyinkan Braithwaite 

What a fun read!  I was given this book as a Christmas present - with its distinctive jacket that I’ve seen all over the tube - and I really enjoyed it.

Set in Lagos in Nigeria it is the story of two sisters, told through the eyes of the older sister, Korede.  Although the title does rather give a spoiler, I am not going to say anything about the plot as part of the fun is in the reveal. I found it a really quick read.

Written with a wonderful sense of black humour, one can immediately see the colours of the clothes, get the smell of the foods and also feel the heat.   Both Korede and her sister, Ayoola, are immediately recognisable.  

Highly recommend.
