Very happy to see that Netflix has not only purchased the license for Starz' cancelled show "Heels" but they also have given the show an option for a possible 3rd season!!! 😀 Starz actually cancelled this show and others because they legally split from the show's production company Lionsgate. The show ended on a cliffhanger too as they thought they were going to make season 3. It's all going to depend on Stephen and Alexander's schedules too as they are both attached to new shows, and of course the ratings. This will be on Netflix worldwide too and I know a lot of wrestling fans didn't have Starz so they weren't able to watch when this aired, so now they can. I loved this show as it's about a fictional wrestling family the Spades, and their small town Georgia wrestling company that the sons Jack & Ace are hoping to expand and grow in honor of their late father Tom, but they all have a complicated past. Totally rec it for fans of "The Iron Claw" too as this show had a lot in common with the Von Erichs, but also other wrestling families like the Harts, Rhodes, etc. And I had two great ships on here too with valet turned female wrestler Crystal Tyler and loveable sweetheart Texas wrestler Bobby Pin, as well as Jack and his wife Stacy, and a great supporting cast of other wrestlers, promoters, and those that worked for the league. It also was a bit like "Friday Night Lights" mixed with "Glow" too, and made by Mike O'Malley from "Glee" and other shows. So again hoping this means we'll get season 3 after all and Netflix will announce the release date for the first 2 seasons soon. Now if Netflix will finally change their minds and film the final season of "Glow".

Wright Night, Wrong Team, as Komets Prevail Over Nailers

This weekend was a tale of two nights for the Wheeling Nailers and Fort Wayne Komets, who both came away with one win for their efforts. Unfortunately for Wheeling, Saturday night's contest belonged to the hosts. Cameron Wright led the way with a natural hat trick for the Komets, while Morgan Adams-Moisan netted a pair of goals in a 7-3 win. Justin Addamo, David Jankowski, and Lukas Svejkovsky all scored on the power play in the third period for the Nailers, who take a 2-1-0 record into their home opener next Saturday. After getting blown out by rival Toledo on Friday, the Komets started with some angry energy, and used that to build a 2-0 lead in the first period. The opening tally came with 6:01 remaining. Morgan Adams-Moisan skated onto a pass and wound his way into the left side of the offensive zone. As he reached the circle, he let a wrist shot go, which found a home in the right side of the cage. Fort Wayne added another with 2:07 left. Carl Berglund centered a feed to Cameron Wright, who rolled his backhander from the left side of the crease right along the goal line, and eventually inside of the right post. Wheeling kept the Komets at bay during the first half of the middle frame, but the hosts put two more on the board during the final five minutes. The first strike ended a season-opening run of 13 straight penalty kills by the Nailers, and it came off of a quick passing play. Jack Dugan played the puck to Berglund, who needed less than a second to one-touch a pass to Wright, who drilled in a one-timer from the right side of the slot. Wright completed his natural hat trick 1:48 later, as Ture Linden sent him on a breakaway, which he converted by shelving a shot into the top-right corner. The power play breathed some life into Wheeling in the third, which started with a Justin Addamo goal 28 seconds in, when he tapped a centering feed from Lukas Svejkovsky into the left side of the twine. However, Fort Wayne responded to that with three straight markers, as Adams-Moisan and Alexis D'Aoust scored 1:24 apart, then Darien Kielb connected with a power play wrist shot from the right circle. The Nailers showed heart until the end, and tallied twice in the final four minutes. David Jankowski buried the rebound of Jordan Frasca's one-timer, and Lukas Svejkovsky whizzed in a wrist shot from the high slot, giving the game a 7-3 final. Tyler Parks got the win for the Komets, as he made 28 saves on 31 shots. Taylor Gauthier had a busy night for Wheeling, as he came away with 33 stops on 40 shots. The Nailers will play their home opener on Saturday night at 7:10 against Reading. Opening Night will feature Mad Chad Taylor - the chainsaw juggler, as well as a magnetic schedule giveaway, and the debut of Nail Ale by Big Timber Brewing. Wheeling and Reading will also play on Sunday, November 5th at 4:10, as the Nailers play five straight games at WesBanco Arena. This is my T. Chordstrum, a musical instrument designed by Johan Berglund; I bought mine as a kit several years ago. It operates like an autoharp, or one of the electronic derivatives of the autoharp like the Omnichord or the QChord: you select a chord by holding down a button (or a group of buttons, for less common chords than the major, the minor, and the 7th) and strumming your finger across the exposed strips in the upper right. Berglund designed it to run based on the Teensy microcontroller platform; if you used a Teensy LC it would output MIDI over its USB connection (which also powers it), and if you used the more powerful but more expensive Teensy 3.2 it also outputs audio through the 3.5mm headphone jack in either a soft synthesized voice or a "plucked" Karplus-Strong voice, and adds an optional drum machine with accompanying bass line. I'm not sure if I've posted about it before, but the main reason I'm doing so now is to show off the new photography setup.

In a thrift store, I spotted a "Scene A+ Rama ShowBox" kit — basically, a box similar to a shoe box but designed for building little dioramas in, marketed especially for school projects — for a couple of bucks, and thought it could be useful for photographing small objects. (The company it's from makes various models for dioramas and things like those trifold cardboard backdrops kids use for science fair project posters; I've seen these at craft stores but didn't think of this use until I saw the much cheaper thrift store purchase.)

I've added a curved back-and-floor-drop, made from poster board, to avoid the harsh shadows from the inside corner. I may spray-paint the whole inside a flat white, or I might just stay with the poster board's natural color; I'm also considering whether to add LED lights to the inside top of the box, or to just work with the external lights I've got.

At any rate, I've often struggled with taking pictures of some of my builds because of the kinds of backdrops I have available. This will, ojalá, make sharing pictures of future projects a little easier.

New refs for the Troll Factory characters! They are furry now, yeah!

Sanning Söderberg (they/them) is egotistical, arrogant, and sarcastic, but also insecure. They project their insecurities through BOUND, an alt-right group, and call anyone who doesn’t agree with them a troll, which is their favorite buzzword. Doubts still pop up from time to time, but when they meet a real troll the world is turned upside down.

Saga (she/her) is a mysterious being called a troll, a magical being who knows little about society. Saga is shy but also oblivious and clings to Sanning even when they’re a bit mean to her. She is very interested in meeting new people and discovering new things.

Jesper Dahlman (he/him) is a boy of very few words, but when he uses them they’re right on the money. He stays calm in the most precarious situations, but switches very quickly to anger once the bucket is full. Jesper vents his frustrations through basketball.

Dagmar Dahlman (she/her) is an extroverted jack-of-all-trades who never pays attention in school but somehow picks up all sorts of information. In her free time she plays the drums, and makes music together with her best friend Sven who prefers bass guitar. They host all sorts of parties, much to the annoyance of Sven’s parents.

Sven Berglund (he/him) is a bit thick-headed but a very well-meaning and talkative guy. He is Dagmar’s best friend, and they usually host parties at his home. Although Sven is a bit loud, and he doesn’t always think things through, he really means well and he’ll do anything to help his friends.

Edvin Berglund (he/him) is a bit of a nerd and, contrary to his brother Sven, a bit of a scaredy-cat due to his overthinking. His awkwardness makes it difficult for him to make meaningful connections, although he painstakingly tries to initiate one with his crush Sanning.

Freja Havsblom (she/her) is a headstrong fisherwoman and mother of Sanning. She’s usually at sea for most of the working week, but tries to support Sanning however she can when she’s at home. Freja is smart and observant, and always takes action quickly. She fell in love with Sigge after delivering salmon to the restaurant where he worked at every week, and talking a bit everytime. Freja goes swimming every weekend, a rare pastime for a fisherwoman.

Sigurd Söderberg (he/him) is a magnificent cook, although usually he is only a chef at home. Before he was a help in a professional kitchen, but since Sanning’s birth the stay-at-home dad cooks meals every weekday which people can pick up at their house. Sigge is a jovial and fun-loving man. His tendency to overthink turned into a book he used to plan his conversations with his wife Freja in when they first started to meet at the restaurant he worked at.

A ruthless businessman who will do anything if it makes him money. As CEO of the leading company in everything, Mimer Corp., Rasmus Locke (he/him) is obscenely rich and far ahead of anyone else in Midgård. He sees every animal as an opportunity, and every troll as cattle. If something isn’t worth the hassle, he discards it. Locke's silver tongue makes him a formidable opponent even when he’s truly a frail old man.

Gunilla Torsdotter (she/her) is the ruthless overseer of the Troll Factory, only answering to Rasmus Locke himself. Although her job is the creation, demolition is the first word in her vocabulary and she isn’t afraid to use it. Her short temper and sledgehammer makes it very dangerous to piss her off. Gunilla only ever thinks things through when not doing so might cost her the position she holds.

Bengt Yggsson (he/him) is a right-wing politician and the leader of the HAL party. He believes (or he says he does) in honesty and freedom for all to do what they want with as little interference from the government as possible. Although he seems jolly, if not almost a bit aggressive with a hint of delusional in public, in private he is held on a short leash by the lobbying of Mimer Corp. and by extension Rasmus Locke. On the inside Yggsson is a hollow husk of a misguided man once excited to make a better world.

Fredrik Nordsson (he/him) is a politician affiliated with the centrist PSH party, and the current president of Midgård. While he should be making changes for the better, he is a spineless liar who denies anything he has said, and he gets away with it too, being re-elected for the past five terms due to the citizens not knowing anyone better. Nordsson is blissfully unaware (or so he claims to be) of any dirty practices happening in the government, especially inside the HAL party.

The full trailer for season 2 of "Heels" is finally out and it looks great!!! :D Jack's dealing with his wife having left and estranged relationship with his brother Ace, Ace is struggling too, Crystal is now an actual wrestler and the DWL are actually adding more female wrestlers, Bobby seems to be now a ref and one of the announcers as well as it exploring more of his and Crystal's relationship, Rooster has a new wrestling persona, there's new cast additions like Emmy Raver Lampman from "Umbrella Academy", and looks like CM Punk is a series regular now too as Ricky. Excited to watch and it's back July 28th.

Heels is on Netflix now. Go check it out, show them some love. They deserve it. This show is an amazing piece of art. The writing and acting is just top notch. They're getting a second chance now since they've been done so wrong. Here's hoping netflix will spring for a third season.

Okay, so since the strike in Hollywood prohibits actors from promoting their work, Stephen is getting a lot of hate for his opinion, and this show is amazing and it would suck for it to get cancelled because of the conditions the union has during the strike, I decided it is up to the fans to take over the promotion:

So I love Ace Spade: Here’s why.

I really love Ace. And Jack is a manipulative bastard. I can’t be the only one here seeing how terrible of a brother jack actually is to Ace.

And gosh Ace, where do I start with this one. They first started off the show trying really hard to convince me that he was a villain, instead they just made me realize how decent of a person he actually is most of the time. He’s an absolute sweetheart to his mother, peaceful with his brother, and completely loving with his nephew. He’s also pretty decent and friendly with all the wrestlers in their company. He’s also respectful with Crystal most of the time they’re together. Having said all that, Ace lashes out, but only when something is done to him. The only time he disrespects anyone or turns rude and childish is when he’s emotional, but mostly, when his brother fucks him up over something.

And boy oh boy oh boy, his brother. Where do I fucking start with Jack? 

 - Forcing him into wrestling. 

 - Consistently lying to him. 

 - Manipulating him. - Sabotaging him. 

 - Kicking him down repeatedly. 

 - Putting his stupid wrestling company over his mental health and overall wellbeing 

 That entire thing with him handing out tissues and asking that woman to scream cry baby during ace’s speech even though he wrote that speech and knew damn well that Ace didn’t want to be heal. Jack doesn’t care about what Ace wants or his happiness or wellbeing. He only cares about the story, at the expense of everyone else, specially Ace. I’m glad the entire characters kept pointing out that Jack was and is still a dick to his brother and when his wife slept on the couch? Damn that felt nice. 

Even after all that, Ace never actually asked Jack to apologize. He didn’t even ask him why. Jack apologized himself and Ace even brushed him off.

Jack only see him as a cash cow and the thing is, so does Crystal. Crystal doesn't even like Ace. She probably can't even stand him. Literally the only reason she's with him is cause he's her ticket out of town. He's literally her cash cow. Characters have hinted on this repeatedly. I mean that's probably why Ace doesn't even want her to begin with. He knows she's only there for her own benefit, and not because she has any feelings for him.

The guy is honestly not the villain they’re trying so hard to convince me that he is. He’s a mentally unstable emotional man who’s literally teetering on the edge of insanity and I’m so pissed no one other than his mother sees just how far gone he actually is. He's an unstable man surrounded by people who only want to use him for their own benefit, disregarding what he actually wants and what's best for his mental health. If jack doesn’t let up anytime soon, he might just push him off the edge and who knows, maybe even drive him into suicide like he did to their father (Bill’s words, not mine)

Anyway, Damn I love Ace and Alexander is killing it. 

Ugh Starz please don't gut me with Ace. Jack better take ONE page from Dean's big brother rule book before we have a second suicide on our hands. 

Fuck this show.
