If You Like Benoit Blanc...
Ever since Glass Onion came out, it seems like everyone’s obsessed with Benoit Blanc and these types of mysteries! Which is great; as someone who loves them, I’m thrilled to have more people interested in the genre. So, if you’re looking for more murder mystery stuff, might I offer some recommendations?
Hercule Poirot
Agatha Christie’s delightful Belgian detective might be the most similar to Blanc of any of the big detectives out there. And with countless novels, short stories, the tv show, and the recent movies, there’s plenty of Poirot content out there for you to enjoy! I personally recommend buying a collection of the short stories and starting from there, but really, there’s no wrong way to get into one of the world’s most famous detectives!
(Note: Agatha Christie was a wealthy British woman who began being published in the 1920′s, and this shows in some of her stories. Most of what I’ve read I’d construe as not meaning badly but definitely of the times, but it’s worth noting!)
Columbo
If you like the parts of Glass Onion where Blanc plays up the old fashioned, Southern charm and acts like a simpleton, Columbo is the detective for you. The whole conceit of this show is that we actually know whodunnit and the question is how is Columbo going to figure it out. Usually the answer is looking shabby, rambling, talking about his wife, and trapping people in their own lies. It’s incredibly satisfying to watch, and Columbo himself is very memeable.
Murder, She Wrote
The late, great Dame Angela Lansbury and her hit show Murder, She Wrote have actually been referenced in both Knives Out movies and it’s no wonder why. Jessica Fletcher is an acclaimed murder mystery author who uses her keen observation skills, knowledge from researching her books, and grandmotherly demeanor to solve murder mysteries. It’s a delightful show filled with tons of guest stars you’re bound to recognize, and J.B. Fletcher really is one of the great fictional detectives.
Pushing Daisies
Okay, admittedly I’m mostly including this one because I think everyone should watch Pushing Daisies at some point. It’s part murder mystery, part romcom, part musical, part absurdist comedy with an absolutely enchanting style. Our leads are a piemaker with necromantic powers, a dead girl walking, a jockey turned waitress, a private investigator who also knits and writes pop-up books, and two retired mermaid entertainers. It’s whimsical and wild in all the best ways while still having really creative, engaging mysteries.
There are so many incredible, unique murder mysteries out there- the genre really spans so many wonderful stories. These are just a few that I think are really fun and fans of Beniot Blanc will enjoy! For my fellow murder mystery fans, I’d love to hear what you’d recommend to folks just starting to get familiar with the genre as well!

Annon-Guy: Slayer
What do you think of his ganeplay in StrIVe compared to past entries?
How were his arcade story interactions with Nagoriyuki and Zato, his students of Dandyism?
Can you make out his quotes, normal and special, when he uses his Last Horizon Overdrive? P.S. Hope you're not on the receiving end of THAT Overdrive if you fight Slayer online due to the INSANE damage it deals! It makes Dimitri Maximoff's Midnight Bliss look tame!
I suppose I can chalk this up to another review of the DLC:
First: Gameplay-wise (if you haven't seen the video yet, please do), I think Slayer's Dash Teleports aren't nearly as strong as they used to be, which makes him less able to use the moves in ways that evade attacks.
They put a heavy emphasis on the vacuum hit of 2S, though I don't know how viable much of this is when an opponent is mashing buttons (i.e. they can easily poke Slayer out of a lot of things compared to older games where Slayer got far less reprisal for his attacks).
I'm sure future updates will tweak the balance somewhat, but I think they're still working on Slayer a bit as a character, so he's far from done yet.
Combo-wise, he's very easy to use, much easier than older games, though that's not necessarily an improvement.
Second: Regarding the story, I already wrote notes on the topic in a previous post, see the Slayer tag for details.
Third: a lot of Slayer's quotes are character-specific, so I would suggest turning down the music and environment volume when playing the game to hear them more clearly.
But the biggest one you might appreciate: he refers to Super Mappa Hunch as "Trend Setting"... though I don't know how much of a Trend it truly is at this point.
If you have trouble with making out certain lines (due to J.B. Blanc's accentuation of the character) or whatever, let me hear the lines you can't make out, and I'll script them for you.
Still, like I say, it's much easier to just Turn down the music and environmental volumes in Options.
It also wouldn't hurt to compare the Japanese with English as well, to get a clearer idea of the lines~
Finally, as for Last Horizon, the way his opponent bounces around the screen is reminiscent of his old Pile Bunker Counterhit properties, though I don't know if such were retained in full for the gameplay itself.
For the most part, in older games, Slayer's Pile Bunker would either:
Cause a Floor Skid/Slide
Or they would bounce off the boundaries of the screen (i.e. wall bounce).
The former comes from K Dandy Step, the latter from P Dandy Step.
I'm sure similar is true in Strive, but in P Dandy Step, Slayer now moves "towards his opponent" instead of away from them, so that may impact how hits land... especially UNIVERSE counters.
Overall, while I'm not the strongest Slayer player out there, I think the character will struggle a little against aggressive veterans who have been playing the game for a while, so plenty of practice with Slayer is recommended.
Once you have a firm grasp of his mixups and blocked attacks, and how to use them, not only will the matchup be better in your favor, but I think you'll enjoy the character a little more.
I don't anticipate everything to work out in Slayer's favor, even as he was very powerful in previous game entries, but he's always a welcome addition, both to the game itself and the Story.

Nunca fomos tristes! A Netflix liberou o trailer oficial da 2ª temporada de Arcane.
Confira a sinopse oficial:
O elenco original conta com Hailee Steinfeld, Ella Purnell, Katie Leung, Harry Lloyd, Kevin Alejandro (Arrow) e J.B. Blanc.

what is wrong with my trash brain
literally
every time I see J.B. Blanc I think i know who he voices, and I'm always right. he voices Pakkun
but i always doubt myself on whether he voices Pakkun or not
and I was just looking at Hashirama's wiki
I KNEW J.B. Blanc voiced Hashirama (partially??) and when I clicked on his name to see if he did voice Pakkun, I, of course, found out I was right, he voices Pakkun.
and yk. it says other characters he voices. and I was like 'woah!! Hashirama!!'
BITCH YOU ALREADY KNEW THAT, YOU KNEW IT, AND YOU FOUND HIM THROUGH HASHIRAMA'S PAGE???????

Your post about Overwatch voices in Apex mentioned Daehyun from Shooting Stars and Reinhardt but don’t forget Soldier!! His voice actor voices Caustic as well!
that’s not correct, unfortunately. Caustic’s voice actor is J.B. Blanc, a carryover from Titanfall 2 as he voiced Apex Predators faction leader Kuben Blisk
Soldier: 76 is voiced by Fred Tatasciore!

Awarded FPS Games
In the video game industry, several prizes are given to particular video games, development studios, and other individuals to acknowledge their worth. Most video game awards are given out on an annual foundation.
Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is truthfully a game title that you don't get a lot of ever again. Based on Star Wars game titles in addition to a myriad of other games that incorporate the story and character beats together with complex puzzles and action to create the top Star Wars game title in years.
The story follows Cal Kestis (played by Cameron Monaghan). The story occurs five years after the Revenge of the Sith. Beginning in a scrapyard on the planet Bracca, which is where Cal is working to salvage Republic and Separatist goods, the backdrop is brimming with Star Wars features. Scraps of combat droids and pieces of identical copy equipment, as well as ships, are tossed and crashed within the dusty backdrop of a used-for-future. But rather than making use of this style to create an affordable superficial nostalgia, it's designed to develop the characters. Bracca is a place that's been around for a long time, and those who reside and work there are aware of its past. Cal lives in Bracca as a fugitive, but he's not necessarily without good friends. Brauf (played by J.B. Blanc) is actually an old friend of Cal's. He tells the old saying that Bracca seriously isn't the place where he'd like to stay for the rest of his life, that he has to find the actual planet and discover his purpose. This is definitely just the beginning of the numerous sub-surface references to the main topics of the original Star Wars trilogy, about just how someone who will come from the ashes can transform into something. In contrast to the heroes in the films, Cal isn't an all-powerful Jedi, and that's the reason why the video game is a tad challenging at times.
Gameplay + roles
The most stunning aspect of the entire event is how Star Wars-like it all appears. Although that could perhaps seem like an insignificant statement, everything from how the heroes interact to the music playing across the planets feels like an authentic Star Wars fan service. You'll be able to tell that Respawn worries about the entire Star Wars franchise and that quality of care makes it more enjoyable whether you're a fervent fan or not. "Fallen Order" also feels fantastic on the board. The worlds are dense and intricate, with unique animals adorning the landscapes. They're surprisingly well-structured on top of that, with each and every world being honestly lived in. The majority of people are precise and expressive, with the one exception being the bad Wookie texturing. As previously mentioned, the soundtrack is the ultimate Star Wars and accompanies the world in a similar manner. Likewise, I became amazed by the absence of any reliance on the existing Star Wars templates. Although almost everything surrounding this is solid, the gameplay is really the highlight of Fallen Order. Instead of focusing solely on combat, Fallen Order places a significant emphasis on exploration and movement. "Metroidvania" is a great classification for Fallen Order, because you'll constantly end up introducing the entire world to new possibilities through the abilities you acquire.
Combat
Combat and battles with enemies are generally made more exciting through the recreation's rest physics. Anytime, enthusiasts visit designated safe areas where they can invest in experience tips and also choose to rest. Resting replenishes well-being, energy, and vigor, along with stamina packs (what BD-1 uses to heal Cal in battle). However, choosing to rest also causes respawns for every enemy that is on the map. This feature won't be anything new for fans of From Software games, but it works remarkably efficiently in this particular scenario and presents players with a major issue to contemplate whenever they play. There are lot of back-tracking across each world's massive map, so taking on precisely the same mini-boss two times is a very legitimate worry. As participants travel around the galaxy and unlock new powers for Cal and fix BD-1's comp link, more paths become accessible. Gates are unlocked, walls can be smashed over, and you can find an abundance of reasons to go back to past places and unrestricted crates that contain items that can be used to customize Cal's lightsaber and clothing, as well as BD-1's paint job and the look of Mantis's appearance. Mantis ship. The planets available are stunning, and it's not difficult to lose track of time exploring every path that is available on them. We used to notice several instances where the game had gotten choppy during an elevator ride or while you opened a door to a new location. The overall game was able to recover fairly rapidly, and there were not any other efficiency problems.
Conclusion
Star Wars is a precious game series, and whenever a new video game comes out, certain hopes and targets come with it. You'll find some excellent games within the series, but it's been a bit of time since they accessed those levels. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order displays fighting that feels firm and impactful, and the exploration of the worlds with imagination gives the player a sense of exploration. This is a great game that's one of the top Star Wars games yet.
Horizon Forbidden West
Horizon Forbidden West follows on from the thrilling events of the original game title, in which our protagonist Aloy discovered the truth about her life and the Zero Dawn project, which was terraforming the planet using robots and dinosaurs in order to make it habitable for humans once more. Nevertheless, because of the destruction of this Zero Dawn challenge and its particular AI Gaia, Aloy is actually right now on the hunt for a replacement for Gaia to prevent another catastrophe (or is it?) that will lead her to a different part of the planet. Furthermore, game developers Guerrilla Games successfully give gratitude to Horizon: Zero Dawn, the first game, because they expanded the myths of the world, which includes Aloy as the main character in their latest epic blockbuster of the next generation.
Gameplay
The gameplay is actually fantastic It has great puzzle-based 'get from here to the next level' moments that are laced with bow & arrow battles and hand-to-hand combat, all blending flawlessly. The DualSense haptic feedback, in addition to the small speaker in the controller, really applies to the immersion, providing just enough to be dragged into this glorious future apocalypse world. Visually, it's a stunning real-time next-gen game. The landscapes look stunning and precise, while the motion capture of the many characters is truly exceptionally immersive. Upgrading arms occasionally takes rare or renowned supplies, and Forbidden West makes them easy to keep track of. You can make jobs for every upgrade or purchase that you need, and they will always show up on your quest menu. In case you've found a machine website that includes the suited parts, the map will mark where you should move. I had to wait way too much time to decide that I could make tasks instead of having to search for a merchant in Thornmarsh to look at the prerequisite materials for purchasing the only legendary outfit I was looking for. A new feature to Forbidden West's combat is new to the fight is the Valor Surge method. Each skill tree comes with active skills, referred to as "Valor Surges," that you may get access to by unlocking the nearby abilities. The Valor Surges usually start to give you a variety of special effects, such as personal shields or health buffs. At present, only one Valor Surge can be used at a given time, but you can swap them all out alfresco at your discretion when they've been released. I found most of them just didn't suit my sexy play style and I really ended up sticking to the Toughened Valor Surge. It grants me extra overall health and resistance to damage.
On the subject of its six skill trees, it is possible to find the one that is most suitable for you. It's not just that improving your skills earns you skill points; however, completing missions typically also rewards you with points, making it very easy to unlock more and more know-how in all skill forests that include Trapper Warrior, Hunter, Survivor Infiltrator, Survivor, and Machine Master. Because I was a fan of the quiet way of destroying machines, I invested significantly in the Infiltrator tree, buffing my current stealth skills. For battle, I chose to go with the Survivor forest, growing my defensive strategy capabilities and capacity for medicine.
Conclusion
Horizon Forbidden West includes everything. I became skeptical to start with because I actually happen to be an avid fan of Guerrilla Games because of the Killzone series and an avid player of Zero Dawn. I simply could not believe that the Forbidden West would meet my expectations. In the first few days of taking part, with occasional glitches in the graphics (now seemingly fixed) or the sporadic hiccup of stumbling over gameplay details or storylines that had become boring in the years since playing the original, I really was not sure it had been planned to reach those heights. However, as the story grew from strength to strength as this brilliant world unfolded in front of my eyes, as I kept iterating over the satisfying game's loop of staring down huge machines, breaking the guns off of giant machines, making giant machines into a huge pile of scraps to take along with their own detached firearm, I really settled into the comfort that made the original the game that it is today. Horizon Forbidden West is every bit as good as, if not better than, Zero Dawn. It is entitled to the same praise. Just complete you personally this favor: if you're able to go back and watch Zero Dawn in its entirety first, then get it done right now. If you can not wait to grab the reins again of the most popular flame-haired Nora, make sure to at least take a look at a "Story thus far" film on YouTube prior to embarking on the next quest. Horizon Zero Dawn was going to be amongst the most enjoyable games of the latest console generation. I don't see any justification for the reason why Horizon Forbidden West is not going to go into the history books among the top games of the current generation.
Ghost of Tsushima
The Host of Tsushima is set in late 13th century Nippon, which was during what's called the Kamakura time period. This was a time when the Shoguns wielded a lot of the legitimate force in Japan, and the Samurai reigned supreme as warriors. The Ghost of Tsushima can walk the excellent line between truth and fiction, honoring the real historical events of the period while weaving an epic tale that is entertaining and plausible. The Mongol head Kublai Khan is truthfully mentioned throughout, as is the fictional Khotun Kahn, who acts as the game's primary antagonist. The protagonist very of the game has a character who is a fictional samurai, Jin Sakai. Jin is the chief of Clan Sakai and is the last person in his direct lineage. His own uncle is definitely Lord Shimura, Jito of Tsushima, and is among the main characters that you meet throughout the Ghost of Tsushima.
Gameplay and characters
The Ghost of Tsushima really does a good job of touching on these big characters' defining factors and forces the player to think about their choices through the eyes of Jin Sakai, but furthermore, it continues to be the same as a video game and lets players put aside these things if they prefer to just perform. It may not be heavy-handed or boring and is able to truly address questions of privilege, duty, family members, and responsibility without getting bogged down in the notion that it's not fun anymore. The actual game-play loop that is present in Ghost of Tsushima is truthfully someplace between a Far Cry video game and an Assassin's Creed play. Combat is a very dance of stance corrections, dense and easy attacks, smoothly timed parries, and horrible counterattacks. Throwable and ghost weapons like sticky bombs and the kunai are used later, but they aren't required in combat. The bulk of the adventure and exploration can be found in the form of retaking Tsushima's island, Tsushima, from the Mongols, this means taking over Mongol strongholds and camps. This performs a large number of like-present Far Cry names, with the participant including solid liberty to select a stealthy approach or to walk in and take on the enemy head-on. The video game will do an excellent job of reinforcing Jin's evolving tactics and nature as gamers fight to free the island. Jin's character is portrayed as changing as the story performs alfresco and the reactions of his own buddies also change. In the beginning, Jin is clumsy and slow-moving whenever attacking stealth due to his inexperience with the methods. As the gamer upgrades his own weapons and tools and weapons, which are in perfect harmony throughout the story, displaying Jin's becoming more confident and gaining self-esteem in his being the "Ghost", his attacks end up being more fluid and quieter. They are also more effective. The game's beginning stages will provide the player with recollections of kills that occurred during stealth or while utilizing some of the "dishonorable" instruments one acquires throughout the course of the game. These flashbacks provide Jin as a young boy, understanding the art that he learned from the Samurai from his father and confirm the war which is raging within Jin when he is trying to accommodate the honor and help the people of Tsushima. I really enjoyed the plot of this game, and the transformation of Jin Sakai from samurai to phantom is deeply moving, entertaining, and well-retold.
The game is definitely among the absolute most graphically awesome of our time. The illumination is actually fantastic, especially in the early morning and evening. Also, the dappled sunshine through the dense forest leaves never becomes dull. Character design is excellent, although just under the quality of other recent Sony exclusives like God of War and Spider-Man. Traversing through trails and places will usually cause Jin's clothing and boots to be covered in dirt. This can ramp up to be just about "Arnold in Predator" sheathed from head to toe if people spend time rolling and bouncing around the battlefield.
Conclusion
The Ghost of Tsushima possesses a black-and-white "Kurosawa" mode. It's known for the well-known Japanese samurai movie director, Akira Kurosawa, but its inclusion is more intriguing than practical, and most users will probably enjoy the game's colors and landscapes much too much to wish to convert them all to grayscale for the duration of the game. It also has Japanese in addition to English voice tracks, as well as options for customizing the HUD for players that desire to assassinate the few prompts on screen that do pop up, and has the Photo Mode. If there's a single criticism that players may have, the issue is this: Ghost of Tsushima once in a while inclines to a "follow these footsteps on the ground" game structure too often in some side quests. However, it is one small flaw in an otherwise relaxing game-play loop. There aren't many possibilities totally "new" to be found in Ghost of Tsushima, although it's likely that players haven't encountered various navigation options as stimulating to utilize as Tsushima's Guiding Wind, or been involved in a peaceful activity like writing haiku as they sit next to a waterfall, or preparing to prepare for battle really frequently. It's the method by which Ghost of Tsushima offers characteristics players are familiar with but not familiar with, which makes it a nice affair as well as something that enthusiasts will desire to continue actively playing long after the credits have ended. The Ghost of Tsushima is the most enjoyable Assassin's Creed game you can find and is likely to be one of the closest players will ever be able to experience exactly what it's like to become the samurai of 11th-century Nippon.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is the kind of game that gamers don't come across many these days. Using signs from Star Wars game titles, together with a myriad of other games that incorporate characters and story beats as well as complex puzzles and action, to create the top Star Wars game title in many years.
Following Cal Kestis, the story develops five years after the Revenge of the Sith. The story begins in a scrapyard on planet Earth called Bracca, in which Cal is responsible for salvaging Republic and Separatist cargo. The backgrounds are stuffed with Star Wars features. Dumped parts of challenge robots, bits of armor from clone clones as well as ships are tossed and smashed into the rough, used-future background. But rather than making use of this look to create an affordable, trivial preoccupation, it is designed to elevate the roles. Bracca is a place that's been around for a long time, and those who really live and work here realize the background. Cal lives in Bracca as a fugitive, but Cal isn't without friends. Brauf (played by J.B. Blanc) is an old friend of Cal. He tells him the adage, Bracca just isn't a place where he'd like to stay for the rest of his life, and that he is required to enjoy the planet and obtain his destiny. This is just the beginning of the numerous sub-surface references in the direction of the fundamental concepts of the innovative Star Wars trilogy, about how someone from virtually nothing can become something. However, unlike the characters in the films, Cal is not an all-powerful Jedi, and that's why the video game is occasionally a bit difficult.
Gameplay and roles
Perhaps one of the most striking aspects of the complete encounter is the way Star Wars feels. Although it might seem like an insignificant statement, everything from how the heroes behave to the direction of the music that plays on every planet is pure Star Wars fan service. It's possible to tell that Respawn tends to the franchise as a whole, and that degree of dedication makes it better, whether you're an avid lover or perhaps not.
Consumers could buy cheap games.
Furthermore, Fallen Order feels breathtaking over the deck. The environments are detailed and dense, with exclusive wildlife adorning them. They truly are also surprisingly well-constructed, with each world realizing who lives in it. Just about all the characters are well-drawn and expressive, with the only exception being the extremely inadequate Wookie texturing. As mentioned before, the music is very quintessential Star Wars and accompanies the planets appropriately. I have been amazed by the decrease in reliance on existing Star Wars designs as well.
While everything else about it is solid, the gameplay is truly the main focus of Fallen Order. Instead of focusing on combat, Fallen Order emphasizes adventure and movement."Metroidvania" is an excellent description of Fallen Order, as your techniques will frequently open up the entire world to new possibilities. The process of traversing these planets involves some platform games that will be extraordinarily entertaining and extremely reminiscent of Prince of Persia. However, this was not always certain what could or couldn't end up being a platform to explore. The number of worlds you can explore in the game is disappointing at 4. However, each is huge and filled with hidden fights and even items to collect. It's the component of pursuit that truly makes Fallen Order stand apart from any other Star Wars game title we have certainly experienced previously. Mysteries play an integral part in Cal's adventures, as undercover tombs feature as the ultimate goal for many of the world. The puzzles aren't head-scratchers, but they are entertaining to think about and often rely on an ability you've unlocked to help learn to master them. Similar to the platforming, it's a pleasant flank towards the fighting circumstances, although almost nothing to write home about. The expression, "jack of numerous trades, master of none" may be a bit harsh, but it can be applied to the elements that make up Fallen Order.
Combat
Battles and encounters with enemies tend to be made more entertaining through the game's best feature. When enthusiasts visit the designated save points, they can dedicate ability tips as well as choose to rest. Resting can restore health, force power, and the Stim pack (which BD-1 uses to heal Cal in battle), but it will also cause all enemies on the game map to respawn. This isn't likely to be a new thing for those who are gamers who enjoy From Software games, but it works tremendously efficiently in this particular scenario and gives gamers a serious issue to contemplate every time they meditate. There's a lot of back-tracking across each world's huge game map, so taking on a similar mini-boss two times is an extremely real risk. As players traverse the galaxy and unlock more abilities for Cal and repair BD-1's Scomp link, new paths are made available. Gates are unlocked, walls can be knocked over, and there's a great number of reasons to visit early destinations and unrestricted crates with products utilized for personalizing Cal's light saber and clothing, BD-1's paint occupation, and the look of the Mantis cruise ship. The supplied planets are typically beautiful, and it's easy to lose track of the time exploring every route that is available to them. We experienced some instances when the game was choppy during an elevator journey or whenever you opened a door to a new location. The overall game recovered pretty fast, and there were not any other overall performance problems.
Who says you can't buy cheap games on buygames?
Bottom Line
Star Wars is a favorite franchise, and when the new Star Wars game releases, some particular hopes and targets come with it. You'll find some excellent games within the Star Wars franchise, but it's been quite a while since they last contacted those altitudes. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order offers combat that is solid and powerful as you explore each of its ingenious universes, offering a great sensation of discovery. This is a great game title that stands as among the most enjoyable Star Wars games yet.

Evening members RWC.
Everyone is relaxing in their own way and with their own drink.
Wine – De La Finca
Winery – Raventos. I Blanc
Vintage - 2014
FeedBack - Medium gold with amber tinges, very attractive colour. The nose is light but has distinct sour apple, white flowers, citrus peel and then on the end more distinct honeyed and yeasty notes and a nice minerality. The palate carries over far more of the yeasty and honeyed notes with faint citrus on the finish. Excellent fine mousse and fantastic acidity keeping it crisp and light. Excellent example of a cava style, not as honeyed and rich as a champagne but lovely in its own way, definitely recommend!

Wine – Rosé de Saignée Brut Champagne
Winery – Vollereaux
Vintage - 2008
FeedBack - The pick of the tastings for me and I’m not a fan of the pink stuff! 100% PN, 4yrs in cellar, same 9g sugar. Macerated on skins for 24-72 hrs. 👀clear, deep pink salmon, ultra inviting fine bubbles. Mouth waters just at the sight. 👃🏻light and clean, strawberries, raspberries, loganberry but refined and not overpowering. 👅dry, great complexity and interaction with acidity. Again not as powerful as expected but great structure and layers of strawberry and tangy raspberry. Lasting red fruit finish.Buy!

Wine – Special Club Blanc de Blancs Brut Champagne Grand Cru 'Chouilly'
Winery – Vazart-Coquart & Fils
Vintage - 2008
FeedBack – Start! (The Jam) Big Vazart-Coquart vertical #1 Lieven served us this 08 Special Club as a luxurious palate cleaner, before the serious bubbles were uncorked. The only bottle that wasn’t recently disgorged, as all the following ones were disgorged especially for us some months ago. This great and lively BdB had an inviting citrus-blossomy nose and a mouth full of fruit with layers of peaches, pear and candied lemon on toast, sprinkled with smoky chalk and evolving from very dry to nicely creamy. Great!

Wine – Eltviller Rheinberg Riesling Trocken
Winery – J.B. Becker
Vintage – N
FeedBack - Traditional Rheingau Riesling made by a man with a serious mustache, aged in big Fuder and released after proper aging at ridiculously low prices. This is a normal plot in central Rheingau but still delicious!! Nose: aged riesling petrol notes with seductive candied lemon, chamomille, Fuji apples, ripe apricots+superglue. Palate: ripe citrus, round pineapple, subdued minerality but still amazingly crisp+acidity. Ripe strawberries lead to warm pear, honey. Banana joins in for the long aftertaste.

Wine – Cuvée des Caudalies Brut Millesimé Champagne Grand Cru 'Avize'
Winery – De Sousa
Vintage – 2006
FeedBack - disgorged 2006. Started off as a completely diff style to the Clos de Goisses, oxidative and also almost sherry like aromas, pungent and powerful. On the palate is intense, but not as focus and refined. (3.5*). Only getting more focus with brighter fruits and salinity complexity toward the end of the dinner (4*). Could be not in Gd shape due to travelling. But I believe this will show better in normal condition & has the substance and balance (showing at the end) to get better.

Bubbles are so fine and enduring.. making this a very special treat.

Watching Morbius, and...
I don't get it.
I mean, I get that it isn't great, the plot is way too hurried - but the actors are putting in a decent amount of work. It's what's been stuck in their mouths that's the real issue. There's something good in there, but it really does feel like Sony hacking its runtime down to Disney Straight-to-Video length robbed the setup of any chance to really expand on its own. You're ten minutes in and bam, Morb's got powers. Forty minutes in and bam, he's wrestling with his conscience. Leto and Smith work with what they have, but it feels like a Cliff's Notes version of a better movie.
It's nowhere near bad; I wouldn't particularly call it meme-worthy insofar as I've watched it - Morb's pushed Lucian out of the lab because he justifiably doesn't want to spread his own curse - but it definitely is something I'd watch with my brain turned off on a Friday Night and with a Meat Lover's pizza slice congealing in my hand.
If anything, like the two Venom flicks, it really does want to act like it's got teeth - but it doesn't show a speck of blood, except for the occasional dramatic splash against Leto's lips.
I'm trying to find the spot where it gets so bad it turns into something you genuinely enjoy in a "God, look at this trashcan fire!" sort of way - think The Room - but I can't latch onto it.
Oh, and calling the ship the Murnau? Nice touch. I'm still expecting a character to come up with a name that reads like a normalized version of "Orlok". The Greece opener gave me The Phantom Pain flashbacks and made me hope we'd see a callback to the Greek ghoul sometimes called a vrykolakas - but eh. Missed opportunity.
Right - and J.B. Blanc's lost a ton of weight, I see - and he's still slumming it as Hollywood's Discount Middle-Aged Latino when he's not directing voice actors for the video game industry. Last I'd seen him, he played one of Gus Fring's Trauma Team responders in Breaking Bad, discussed fine wine and cartoons with a bunch of other VA buddies, and voiced about a third of the Uruk-Hai from the Shadow of games.

#also: 1. many vas have talked about how (specially anime) damages their voice and have to be the last session of the day because they cant#do anything after that and even so anime is one of the lowest paying kind of voice over jobs#2. the idea that motion capture is essentially better and more acting than regular va is both very demeaning to the vas that do such an#amazing job giving life to the characters but also heavely skewered to triple a studios to get awards lol @darthimperiuss thank you for mentioning this
because it reminds me of the very recent controversy that happened not even a month ago surrounding Miraculous Ladybug’s English VAs who wanted to stop working on the show because of the low wages: [Reddit thread] and here are some of the VAs statements:
Reba Buhr, the English voice actress for Rose and Juleka posted on Twitter today: "I’ve got some bummer news. Looks like they are replacing me on Miraculous Ladybug. I’m not happy to be leaving but I need to be paid fairly."
Cassandra Morris, the English voice actress for Sabrina posted her support for Reba and the others on her Instagram story, stating: "I support you Reba Buhr! I left Miraculous Ladybug for a similar reason. Actors deserve to be compensated fairly for their work, especially on uber-successful shows!"
And I found the article regarding VAs losing their voice, it’s a pretty lengthy article, but here are some snippets. You can read the full article [here]:
“...Courtenay Taylor, mentioned she suffered a hemorrhage in her vocal cords last year while voicing a game. Most injuries come from exertion, such as screaming. But she got hurt whispering. She had to visit a speech pathologist for rehab and was unable to work for three months.”
“They keep saying, ‘Games are different,’ ” said J.B. Blanc, a well-known voice actor and director who has worked with Burch several times. “But that’s no longer true. Because games want to be movies, and movies want to be games. These are basically 100-hour-long movies.”
“Other actors said they’ve tasted blood in their throats during prolonged sessions. One actor fainted during an audition after screaming too long.”
“The nature of video games makes it difficult work. Many games feature characters dying or crying out in agony. An actor is needed to make each of those sounds. Burch once worked on a military-themed game that required her to shout all of her lines for four hours straight.”
“...the union invited California’s Division of Occupational Safety and Health to investigate what it called unsafe and vocally stressful conditions for actors doing video games. Before regulators declined to take action, the union played them a recording of an actor doing a typical “death scream.”
I saw this “argument” happening on twitter about performance acting (as in motion capture for video games) vs voice acting. Like I get it, it takes a lot of work and energy to do motion capture, but it feels somewhat icky how these actors say that “we’re not just voice actors” as if voice acting is a sub-par form of acting. It feels like they’re degrading all these voice actors that spent years honing their skills and putting a lot of energy into their craft.
Voice actors have been thrown around like ragdolls by studios for years (remember the Strike back in 2016-2017?), a lot of them get piss poor paychecks and get screwed over all the time. Not to mention they end up getting hate for voicing a character that isn’t their gender or ethnicity, that’s because a lot of them don’t even know how their character looks like. A lot of studios don’t show them any pictures, there are studios that provide them with pictures, but the majority of VAs don’t know their character besides some basic info, the voice director helping them and that’s it.
And they don’t just stand around in a studio and read their lines, they do physically act while voice acting to make their voice sound more authentic.
This is a snippet from an interview with Ashly Burch from 2017:
“…That’s the other thing about voice acting, is that it’s strangely physical. There’s a bit of having to hold my hands together and shake for those efforts, stuff like that.”
“…Sometimes the director will even ape it out for you first. They’ll give you an example, so that you don’t pull your [vocal] cords out trying to find it for them. Sometimes they just say, “Give me 10 lights, 10 mediums, 10 heavy attacks.” Same with damages. Sometimes it’s like, “You’re throwing a thing. We need a wind up and a throw, and then it comes back, so we need catching.” Stuff like that…“
From an Instagram post about Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson on his role as Maui:
“Dwayne Johnson believes that voice acting is the most difficult career in acting, and is personally annoyed when celebrities are cast in animated films despite voicing their characters badly. When Johnson was cast for the film, he repeatedly asked the other voice actors present if he was really giving a good performance.
It is a common belief that voice acting is an easy paycheck for a lot of actors. Haters like to claim that actors show up to work in their pajamas, record a few lines of dialogue, and then wait for the direct deposit to come in.”
So yeah, stop throwing voice actors under the bus, I get being annoyed about being mistaken for “”just”” a VA, but that doesn’t mean you get to undermine their work, scoff at them and their craft.
