Flash Fiction: Constantin

Unconsciousness would have been a blessing, Constantin thought. Didn’t most people fall into stunned confusion after an accident? Didn’t they spend months struggling to assemble a coherent narrative of the events that had suddenly shattered their lives? But Constantin was cursed with lucidity — aware of his situation and unable to call for help. If it weren’t for the pain, if it weren’t for the possibility he was dying, the episode would be rich with the sort of comic irony he loved.

From his vantage point in the ditch, he could see the flashing lights of the emergency vehicles, the black smoke from the burning wreck, even the bobbing helmets of the rescue workers. They, however, couldn’t see him, didn’t even realize someone had been thrown right off the highway.

Rolling over carefully, Constantin watched a plane cross the endless, blue sky, carrying its trusting passengers toward their bright, uninterrupted future.

Mixtape: Wangan Selection

I've been wanting for some time to make a long Eurobeat mixtape, so I thought this could be a good theme. The term itself is a little confusing giving its obscure nature, and since it happened literally in the middle of the first and second booms, I choose to use songs released between 1989 and 1994. The most correct date probably would be 1990-1994 but since release dates are a confusing thing, I thought that 1989-1994 would be more appropriate but this is my opinion, so take it with a grain of salt... Let's say that this mixtape was only influenced by this theme. Yes, the cover is a picture of the actual Wangan line, I took it from Wikipedia and made it look old lol. 01.
