I'll always adore how Shouto's always looking at Izuku, irrespective of where they are and how old they are. Him looking at Izuku is a constant in every panel they are together and I find it so incredibly sweet.

Even a hundred feet above the ground, Shouto only has eyes for Izuku and I think that's true love.

I want to preface, Mha is not a romance series, so nothing will be explicitly romantic unless stated. Obviously there will be bubbles and sparkles when two characters interact that like each other. Aside from that, everything is up to INTERPRETATION.

A lot of people forget that unless the meaning is explicitly stated, the meaning is however you look at it. interpretation is what trips people up everytime. People take things different ways and have different opinions. I'm not trying to change anyone but-

Izuku likes women, or at least boobs. Multiple times throughout the series, he has shown interest in women and gets flustered in many instances.

Ochako has a crush on Izuku, I'm not here to debate that, it's canon. Izuku on the other hand, aside from being flustered around her in the beginning of the series and some moments with giltter here and there, there's not as much on his side.

You can ship izuocha, I sure do, but I can see the argument against his crush on Ochako. You can INTERPRET most of their interactions as friends, it's all about how you see it.

"Your my hero" line can be romantic. There weren't bubbles or blushes, so it's not objectively romantic. It was him comforting her in her time of need. His feeling of her being his hero highlighted her importance, not a crush.

on the other hand, bkdk moments CAN be interpreted as romantic. There are multiple instances of Izuku caring deeply and having an obvious obsession w who Katsuki is.

You can also claim these moments are him being empathetic or just respecting Katsuki, WHICH IS VAILD. There are never bubbles or sparkles to show a hint of crush on either side. Katsuki has more of an argument of being gay for Izuku, but I digress.

there are much better threads making the case for bkdk/izuocha, so I won't try to go there. In the end, Izuku isn't straight. He isn't bi, he isn't gay, he IS whatever you think he is.

People making jokes that he is gay or not wanting him to be straight ARE FINE. Making jokes that any character is gay bc your hc is fine, and I need people to understand that.

Just because people are making a joke that he's gay for Katsuki or whomever else is just... a joke. They aren't delusional, they aren't crazy, it's just their ship of choice. You making threads about izuocha can be labeled just as delusional.

At the end of the day, these are just ships and headcannons. Just how you don't want to claim their ship/hc is canon YOU CAN'T EITHER. People can believe whatever they want

I've been toying around with the idea of trans girl Izuku for the rewrite, and I'm really liking. I was thinking of her preferred name being Izumi. Izumi means "spring" or fountain", I think it is still in align with her character. Izumi is someone who grew up not knowing a lot about queer stuff, and kept all of their thoughts and feelings about their identities to themselves. They get to see and explore with their classmates, who are more openly queer. Which causes her to question her own identity, and knowing her, does extreme research. Like holy Hell, you can change your gender?? Just like that?? She's very conflicted about the whole thing and it takes awhile for her to be comfortable, and open about it. One of Izumi's flaws is that she is terrible at opening about her feelings. Once she does, the girls are excited to have another girl in class. Since UA can allow things like hair dye and piercings, I'm sure it'll be fine to get Izumi a girls uniform. Izumi still does get... assholes who are transphobic and stuck in their old ways. However, due to her getting more confident she stands up to them. I think it would be really cute if she grew out her hair, puts it in a high ponytail, and ties a yellow bow around it. Bc obviously to resemble All Might. Also a tie in with Nana for the ponytail, as well. Ik Horikoshi's trans rep is just... could be a lot better, let's put it that way. Also we get a protag that still has the next generation tie into it. The next generation being more open minded, and let go of harmful ideologies, and accepting of people. Izumi sheds her old skin and embraces who she is, is like peak trans to me. Again, this is just something I'm playing around with as an idea. Plus sapphic Izuocha (And if anyone is wondering, I am a trans male!)

I can definitely get behind MTF Izuku! I've played around with fem (trans and cis) Izuku in my head a lot. It goes well with Izuku as a character and could fit very nicely. I definitely like it a whole lot more than trans Bakugou because it feels like a tactic to make Bakugou more sympathetic, as Bakugou fans tend to do.

And like, it's fine. I don't care that people hc Bakugou as trans. It just doesn't do anything to endear me towards him. Whereas with Izuku (or Todoroki or literally anyone else), it would just add a lot of meaning to the character.

Also, as my user suggests, I'm weak for sapphic ships. So sapphic IzuOcha is a win for me

Hi. So I was thinking about Izu and his love interests and how some ladies (plus Shig) fit the bill.

Mei? Cool design. Has passion for her craft and has show to care for Izu (she is the one to upgrade his costume)

Melissa? Cool design too. Quirkless and badass and have great chemistry with Izu, love the clips of them together.

Shig?😏 the canon (forehead kiss and skimo kiss)

Nejire? Great design. They had a cute moment (Zuzu is not a perv. He is a real gentleman) and while it was one scene and many HCs her as gay or queer...this ship has potential(or had to) she is a strong student who has a powerful quirk and she and Izu could bond over this( I know how we dont know much about her life but still...I think they could be a cute ship)

Toga? Great design, srsly I love her design. She did ask him out ....in the middle of the war and has almost to no interaction to him but I feel this ship could work in aus.

Also Toga now knows what he considers a dream date...and while the internet mocks him. I found sweet.

So yeah those ladies (plus Shig😏) are winning against Ochako. Hell, Lady Nagant (yes too old for him) has a more positive interaction with him and Fox Lady too.

To be honest all those ships could work, as you noted, Hori even added Shigadeku crumbs, both in their parallels and in the artwork with how close he draws them. (Just like he did with Togachacko.) Shig has gotten closer to getting a kiss from Izu than Ochaco! Who is the love interest here? If I didn't read the series, with how Hori draws them together, I would think it's Shig. Come on Hori!

Now to address the other ships you mentioned:

IzuMei - It would be a cute ship as you mentioned. She's quirky and unafraid to express it. I feel like being with Mei would help Izu gain confidence. Whereas I think being with Izuku would help Mei socialise with others.

IzuMelissa - It's been a while since I've seen the movie but I also thought they were cute together. Plus her being quirkless as well gives them a common ground.

IzuNejire - Not a ship I had thought of for Izuku but I respect your opinion there.

IzuToga - A ship that has a tonne of potential and under a different writer (who fleshed Toga out more as a tragic villain battling her blood urges rather than flip flopping between this and blood yandere) this could have really flourished.

The shame is IzuOcha had a tonne of potential to be awesome but Hori squanders it. Here's what I would change;

1) Have her inspire Izuku's hero name 'Dekiru' - It would be the beginning of a sweet deep moment between them.

2) Don't have her call Izuku plain. I found this to be a strange thing for Hori to have Izu's future love interest say particularly as her character design is more 'ordinary' and Izuku's appearance hasn't changed between now and then so why does she suddenly find him physically attractive?

3) Give her story focus rather than all the ungodly focus on Bkg. As well as build up her parallels with Toga. Build on why she thinks she can't express her feelings; a fear of losing his friendship? Something inspired by Aizawa's poor teaching? Just give this girl anything, Hori.

4) Have her stand up against Bkg's plan to have 1A vs Izuku. I hated this moment in MHA so much. If Ochaco needed to have a BAMF moment where she stood up to someone for Izuku it should have been against Bkg not the civilians rightfully worried about their safety but Hori wastes her and this ships potential...

uhhhhhhhhhh togachaco real !!!!!!!!!!! i recently wasnt super into any other ochaco ships but tsuchaco has been growing on me it's rlly cute actually. i've mostly been thinking about tsuchaco in a post-431 way. like ochaco dates izuku for a while and they do have fun, but they both know it isn't right. izuku is head over heels for katsuki and ochaco might not like guys (probably)

i'm torn between headcanoning ochaco as bi or a lesbian struggling with comphet, so depending on what i'm writing/thinking about, she's either one!!!! in general i find it hard to have like one set of headcanons for a character? i think it's pretty situational, or maybe that's because if i'm going super non-canon compliant with something, i think of the characters as relatively blank slates and i can try out new things with them. the lesbian w comphet hc is mostly just me projecting though because her admiration for deku (in the anime at least, since i have yet to read the entire manga so idk how different it is) feels a lot like..admiration and not necessarily romance. i might just be super biased though idk. this is yet another can of worms.

Whether I ship it or not -- Yes and No (will elaborate into detail further on) Why I ship it or not -- it's cute.. and the fact Ochako was Izuku's first real friend after the years of him being bullied for him being quirkless. My opinion on their canon potential (chemistry, canon interactions, etc) -- this ties into me shipping it or not... canonically; it reminds me a lot of NaruHina in that there isn't a whole lot of canon moments for them. (Granted there is way more for IzuOcha than NaruHina had.. but at the same time a lot of IzuOcha moments could just be chalked down to 2 friends hanging out. As opposed to NaruHina's moments (before Hinata's confession) which a lot of the time just felt like Kishimoto was like "oh, yeah.. I need to do something with these two if I want them to be endgame." My opinion on fanon interpretations/fandom around it (Favorite widespread hcs, pet-peeves, etc) -- Like the last part.. this ties into the first question about me shipping it. My favorite fandom thing with them is the fanart.. that's hella cute and adorable. Everything else -- the CERTAIN IzuOcha fans online (twitter, etc) -- make me dislike them together romantically.

Whether I ship it or not -- Yep yep.. it's actually one of.. if not.. the only malexfemale ship that I have for Katsuki. As all my other ships (that I can think of) for him are malexmale. Why I ship it or not -- it's actually because Ochako, I feel, is one of the few girls.. especially girls his age.. that he knows that I feel he has any ounce of respect for. Especially after their sports festival fight. My opinion on their canon potential (chemistry, canon interactions, etc) -- canonically.. I don't actually see it happening, the two of them don't really hang out much. But that's just mainly because Ochako is primarily Izuku's friend. But I still see the chance of them getting together being higher than say BakuCamie. a long list of random mha (mostly bakugo) headcanons i have in my silly little brain

part one

SPOILERS (obviously)

Around the end of Class 1A's second year, Bakugo starts to make his classmates' favourite food for dinner on their birthday. It is an earned privilege.

He and Deku are in an ongoing All Might merch battle, and Bakugo is currently winning because of a limited edition figure he owns that Deku doesn't.

I imagine they have their own points system for it too, like the number of points you get for the value of the merch itself; like if it was a vintage item that's no longer being sold or something like that.

Bakugo used to take piano lessons as a kid as well as drums, so he's a pretty decent player.

He's either on the Aro/Ace spectrum or Demisexual/romantic. It just makes sense.

Hagakure and Bakugo become pretty good friends because they like the same romance mangas.

He ends up becoming close with Uraraka in their second year and they constantly spar together while talking about Deku.

I feel like Bakugo probably helped Deku and Uraraka get together too (sometime around the middle/end of second year).

He uses a special kind of detergent to wash his clothes because of his quirk, as nitroglycerin is usually very prone to combustion (thanks to dellsey for giving me this idea in their amazing fic, the laundry room!).

His hair became spiky after he got his quirk. It was still spiky before but it...got more spiky?? idk

Ojiro is self-aware of how "normal" he is. He wears the label with pride.

Bakugo remembers when Deku gave him OFA at the end of Heroes Rising.

All Might's theory as to why Bakugo didn't keep it was because the quirk itself preferred to stay with Deku, but that doesn't really make any sense...it's much better for his character if he voluntarily gave the quirk up so he could beat Deku fair and square later on.

He started wearing eyeliner underneath his mask at the end of his first year, but then started to regularly wear it even while wearing his civilian clothing.

Kaminari has a thing for people with purple hair. I don't care who he ends up with, as long as they have purple hair.

Ochako x Izuku x Katsuki random HC 

started dating because 3rd year uraraka asked izuku out first with bakugo nearby, but bakugo was like, “hell no! if anyone is dating him first it’s me!”

uraraka not backing down is ready to fight, UA sport festival round 2 lol

deku was the one suggested to all date, mainly as a joke just to get everyone to be calm

bakugo too embarrassed to admit he likes watching uraraka eat sweets

izuku and uraraka like steal bakugo’s hoodies

uraraka’s first gift to them was a scrap book she made with photos and different keepsakes from their dates

bakugo falls asleep first, so uraraka and izuku stays up longer to chat in their GC. bakugo does get jealous over this a little 👀

but it’s okay because bakugo and izuku do work-study at the same agency and have a lot of time to themselves too 

on dates, uraraka picks where to eat, izuku picks what movie to watch (if it’s a movie date), and bakugo takes care of the driving and picking up.

Sorry for the epic of gilgamesh but idk I woke up with izuocha hate on my mind today and I gotta let some of it out so this isn't really going to be coherent. Power of Hindsight to me, but the way this is all still applicable even after her admission of liking/having liked Midoriya (translations vary)... If anything, compared to the everything that she has told and shared with Toga during their confrontation, those feelings appear secondary at best, especially because of the way in which they are brought up: as only one of the stepping stones that have allowed Uraraka to get closer to Toga

Also, this is something that I've seen mentioned here and there (and that I fully agree with), but. Although she recognised the (past?) existence of her feelings for Midoriya, she never did tell Toga what her deal what, why she felt like they were bad for her (and nor did she ever inwardly come back to it). Why? Their conversation perfectly lent itself to it. Everyone can want and think about multiple things but for some reason Uraraka couldn't hypothetically work hard while also liking someone? Why?? It's not like anyone told her that, quite the contrary actually. I wonder how her thoughts and actions could be interpreted in light of this :) who knows :)) because the alternative really is "damn, Uraraka, you fucking suck LOL". And not to also throw in the Sexuality Discourse, but it's especially because of how messy this fuckass "romantic subplot" is that I get sooo pissed off when people get all "if you hc her as a lesbian in denial and not as bi you're biphobic". I, a living breathing bisexual, am going to *remembers that it's a fascist move to employ threats of physical violence as an intimidation technique* explode you. within the confines of my mind.

Now, to the scene that kicked off the Cursed Subplot

First and foremost, one of my grievances with it is that Aoyama's comment is pretty much out of nowhere. Despite having had little to no interaction with Uraraka prior to this, somehow he knows her enough to tell what she's thinking, and the audience is just supposed to accept this. >_>? Ultimately his comment has no purpose other than that of making Uraraka aware that she's got something going on, but it just feels unsatisfactory, cheap, and out of place. I've seen theorises that he wanted to fail the exam on purpose to avoid going to the summer camp (thus, avoiding to aid AFO), but that still doesn't explain how he Just Knew which button to push

Having said that, it's Interesting_Meme.jpeg that this isn't the first time something went bad for Uraraka after she tried to use Midoriya as a reference [see: the Sports Festival arc, "I'll win just like Deku!" -> loses immediately after she has this thought]. And I say "bad" for a reason: in a real fight, this distraction would have killed her. Hell, she still could have gotten injured if Thirteen hadn't reacted in time. It's exactly the same thing that happened during the first mock battle supervised by All Might: the fact that this was an exercise is what allowed her to pass

And there's quite some satisfaction/vindication to knowing that it's not just me, random reader, who says this

"Always be conscious of who you are"... i.e. possibly thee sentence that is most relevant to her character arc in the whole manga

With the added detail that Toga was a character created specifically for her, and that Uraraka was developed to match Toga, it's hard to see how "being just like the person you like" could have anything but negative results. Toga's case is more complex because of the combination of natural urges she feels due to her quirk and the abuse and neglect she suffered at the hands of society, and I don't personally believe that "she's just mistaken" about love and admiration being connected, as some people say, but the core idea of Identity is the same. Becoming (just like) someone else means giving up on everything that makes you you, and Uraraka has been "punished" for having tried to. While she hasn't explicitly said anything about it (yet) ("chat about love" I am so terrified of what could come out of you), it's only with the shift to "I can be inspired by Deku" that she effectively stops stacking losses or half-assed results. And I guess that thinking about it as a shift to something constructive rather than as a full suppression of feelings does solve at least the contradiction of "If Toga suppression = bad, why Uraraka suppression = good?" (I still think "I can teach you, Toga, how love should actually be!" would be a TERRIBLE thing though btw)

This is one of the instances where the japanese text may help a lot, because "bottling feelings up" and "keeping feelings under control" do share a common repression element to them, but at the same time they aren't the same

I do think that on its own this is a good approach to love as a theme, but as things currently stand, (excluding things like Uraraka being sidelined so often and the lack of interaction with other characters) my gripes with Horikoshi are: the interference of other characters (Aoyama, Mina) is annoying; it's ultimately disappointing that, as far as the relationship side of things is concerned, everything is on Uraraka's shoulders alone. Midoriya merely is an unaware external cause, and this lack of reciprocity not only renders the prospect of a possible future relationship between them completely unappealing and bland (if the standards for romance are supposed to be a character thinking "Oh, A Cute Girl I just met is talking to me!"... *side eye*), but personally it also... makes him feel like an intruder. When I think about "the love subplot", it's Uraraka and Toga that immediately come to my mind, with Midoriya just being an annoying afterthought, because he's only indirectly involved and... that's it ("he's just standing there... menacingly!")

Todomomo Idols AU - Part 2

Shoto was scouted by Present Mic when he was going home from tutoring class. He was 14 yet Mic thought he was 17 since he was already 170-sth tall back then.

Midoriya had always wanted to be a singer so he auditioned in a singing contest, UA ent. 's saw his gift and scouted him after he was eliminated on the Voice in the quarter finals round.

Bakugou had always been modelling for his parents since he was a toddler. He was a known figure in the modelling circle for his natural angry expression. He got invited to become a trainee since his modelling agency is a partner of UA's ent. His mom was very enthusiastic of this and he heard Deku is a trainee here. He cannot lose to him!

Kirishima and Kaminari were friends and they auditioned for the UA ent and got in. Sero got in the same but he came a month later since he had to go make document papers for dropping out of school to become a trainee and transport his things from the country into the city.

When Shoto got in, he got in via his looks and singing skills. His dancing was so terrible that even Sero nicknamed him, 'Tododork'.

Shoto and Katsuki were formed to be a project group under the name 'Next Gen' and had two songs released. People quickly fell in love with the two visuals. Shoto became the ice Prince and Katsuki became the hot headed prince.

Before their debut, Sero was almost cut from the group since his charisma was very poor but the boys had been training together for two years, they wouldn't allow it.

Deku appeared as a support character in a web series a few months before their offical debut. He made a few fans from his cute looks and politeness.

Kirishima, Kaminari and Sero were in their senior's MV as backgrounds, the co-ed group, Big Three. They didn't have much screen time since it focused on Big three.

Their debut song was bombed and they quickly become national's boy group.

Shoto was quickly known due to being the 'face of the group' and being related to politician, Todoroki Enji, who was once a big time star in his early thirties.

They had their first variety show after they had debuted for two years. It was called, Boy's house, and it follows their 100 day vacation.

60% of the time includes Shoto being teased and shipped with Momo, 10% being bromance, 25% being chaos and 5% being them yelling at each other, Shoto falling asleep while they bicker and Midoriya trying to stop the bickering and have the leader, Shoto, be a responsible leader.

Shoto just gave them a disappointed look and they quiet down, except Katsuki who would grunts at Shoto since he was older than him yet he had to listen to him.

Their manager was Shoto's older brother, Natsuo. He would join teasing his brother and appear in the show often since he's not camera shy and he wants to show what the boys are like behind cameras.

Natsuo would sometimes film them asleep and have hidden cameras around their temporarily house.

The episode where Denki stole Katsuki's clothes was very viral.

Because Katsuki stormed naked around the house looking to Denki who is hiding outside, in the greenhouse and Hanta keep tabs on where the angry blonde is.

Shoto had to walk in and throw Katsuki's new clothes at him and tell him where Denki is and that Hanta was helping him.

All this happen while Izuku and Ejiro were cooking and they didn't know what happened at all except seeing Katsuki marching in the kitchen yelling for Denki naked and left. It was a norm to them since they were trainees so they continued cooking.

On Christmas, they have a special guest. Yep, it was Momo and Ochaco, from Mha girls ( Aka. Mina, Ochaco, Tsuyu(Leader) and Toru).

The girls are from the same agency, which is well known for girl groups and female artists.

They snuck into the boy's dorm at three and decorated the entire dorm without making a sound while filming and whispering.

Ofc, Momo arranged marshmallows on Shoto's face like Santa's beard at three in the morning.

Shoto woke up and talked to the camera. Asking, That was Yaoyorozu, right? before going back to bed since he was too lazy to get up yet.

Ochaco put post its on all of Izuku's and Katsuki's face.

They made the boys breakfast and hid behind the counter.

Sero woke up at four when they were still preparing breakfast to get water. They hide in time and Sero didn't notice the cooking relics.

After a while Shoto woke up first and wake up his roommates, Denki.

Denki had to be drag down, literally, by a sleepy Shoto.

Shoto woke everyone up.

Ejirou and Hanta laughed at Denki for a minute straight and tried to wake him up. It didn't work so Ejirou played rock paper scissors with Hanta, The red head ended up being the one carrying Denki down the stairs, bridal style and Hanta pretending to be an MC, telling how great the two look as groom and bride.

Momo and Ochaco fired indoor fireworks and Hanta wolf whistle.

" Merry Christmas!!", the girls chorused

Hanta was the only one cheering while the others stood confused and lost.

The girls brought the members' parents inside. Ejirou's mom and dad, Denki's mom, Katsuki's mom, who brought Katsuki's baby photos, Izuku's mom, Shoto's sister, mom and brother(Natsuo, Aka. their manager) and Hanta's parents.

The girls gave the boys a mission to go spend time with their families, if the family members are satisfied, they'll give them the hint to win the title of 'S1X' s best santa' (Idk what to call them, lol)

Katsuki told Momo that it was lame and scowled at Natsuo, who hid behind Shoto who also comments that this is lame.

Ejirou and his mom stayed behind to cook dinner for everyone. His dad had to go since he had work.

Midoriya, Ochaco and his mom went to buy her new clothes as well as his.

Katsuki toured the house to his mom who would tell the cameras of Katsuki's embarrassing stories.

"One time, Katsuki really wanted a brother so I told him to help me model until he's ten and his brother would come. It only worked until he was nine and he stopped talking to me for a week"

" Katsuki had a crush on a cute girl back in kindergarten and he would cry when that girl comes near. He was so cute wanting to be close to her yet cries whenever she's nearby or looking at him"

Hanta took his parents around the city and they wanted to eat at a fancy restaurant. It was so good they loved it.

Shoto took his sister and mom to tour his temporarily house too, earning a snare from Katsuki.

"Shoto~, don't leave me~"

"You live here with me, Natsuo"

He took them to a cat cafe, they love cats except Natsuo. This is payback.

Momo stayed behind to prank them by hiding their phone chargers, switching their clothes and spread all their baby pictures in the living room table. It was her mission. She managed to sneaked past Ejirou and his mom somehow.

In the end, it was Katsuki who miraculously got the crown and Izuku getting second.
