I don’t understand all the people moaning on Twitter. 

It’s almost as if they forgot that Iida is not only one of Deku’s best friends, and someone who was inspired by him a lot (paralleling the Stain arc, the Kamino arc), but he is the CLASS PRESIDENT (at Deku’s initiation, no less).

In a chapter called “Form Class A to OFA”, where the entire class working together to respond to all of Deku’s extra quirks and to chip away his mental resistance all culminating in a final super-combo to launch their class president at Deku means that the Class as a whole has reached Deku.

Why are people making this into a ship war or a who is Deku’s closest bestie competition? This is not only there to parallel Deku using Kirishima to save Bakugou, in which case, sure Ochako or Shouto would have been good choices too. 

But this is more. This is about class A showing Deku that 19 quirks combined can keep up with OFA, that they don’t want to be protected, but want to fight with him and that they have all grown to be true heroes who will meddle whether Deku wants it or not, just like he meddled too, way before he became as OP as he is now. 

Iida who is the most class-focused character and the literal face of Class 1-A is the perfect focal person to represent all of them in that last moment and honestly the best choice to get that message through to Deku. 

It blows my mind how people can be disappointed by this. This chapter is full of amazing parallels and call-backs and showing both individual growth, but also stunning growth as team.

thinking about how izuku went from loner and outcast to everyone scrambling to be able to stand with him against 🥺🥺

no you don't understand the extent of GROWTH in Iida saying 'Ingenium is the hero who will always find and hold the hand of a lost child' to current Deku, like it's his arc finally making a complete circle. He's becoming a hero because he worships his brother, and it's the exact analogy his brother used to explain himself to Iida. And Deku is a lost child (God, sometimes we forgot that the real emphasis here is that he's a freaking child).

I am absolutely loving these past three chapters. 2nd OFA user turned out to be even better than I expected but what exactly did I expect? Of course he'd think Deku having people standing alongside him would be better, he lived through war, band of brothers is his deal.

Also, Mineta has second best line in this chapter, and it is so unexpectedly in character of him to say that.
