I think the reason I'm a bit iffy about most zutara shippers who call themesleves "pro Katara" (and lets be honest the tags pro katara/katara deserved better are mainly people building themselves a moral highground of "if you disagree with me, you clearly dilslike Katara and want her to suffer") is just the hypocrisy of it all.
Katara's consent was violated by Aang, yes. But Zuko threatening her and being a fucking creep in the "I'll save you from the pirates" scene was sexy and not at all the nightmare of any sane woman.
Katara's role as a healer is treated as her acting subservient and her loosing her feminist icon status. Unless she's healing/offering to heal Zuko.
Aang is immature and childish. But we will handily ignore Zuko, a whole ass 16 year old who's heir to a country throwing a temper tantrum because his girlfriend dared to speak to another man. [Frankly, in my opinion, Zuko isn't really ready for a serious romantic relationship, but yall arent ready for that conversation]
Aang is supposedly misogynistic, but Zuko's many instances of actual misogyny are swept under the rug. Aang is shown in canon to be incredibly supportive of Katara defying the patriarchy.
Supposedly Aang makes Katara do all the housework. Despite there being evidence to the contrary. Zuko has just recently learnt to brew tea.
Katara being the Avatar's wife is supposedly degrading. But if she were Zuko's wife, I'm sure she wouldn't be just a baby maker. (What a horribke thing to call a woman btw. Tall call your own mothers baby makers too???) Despite the fact that Izumi's mother hasn't even been mentioned by name in tlok. But yeah. She'd be afforded the respect she deserves I'm certain.
Aang is, on most accounts, supportive and respectful of Katara's opinions, even when he disagrees with them. Zuko openly mocks people who oppose him. I am going to make a longer post on the Southern Raiders episodes and how all of you watched that episode blindfolded or smth.
Aang comparing Appa being kidnapped (his last connection to his genocided people, the last vestige of his happy past) to Katara's anger over her mother is bad. But Zuko comparing mommy leaving his ass to Katara's mother getting brutally slaughtered in front of her ? Silence.
Aang supposedly needs Katara to mother him and that's a bad thing. But Azula, Mai and Ty Lee having to gentle parent Zuko almost everytime they interact is never talked about, despite the uncalled for verbal abuse that trio goes through from him.
Aang and Katara's 2 year age gap is creepy. But Zuko and Katara's 2 year age gap is fine. My bigest gripe with Zutara lovers is them completely erasing Katara's childishness and immaturity, in order for her and Zuko to have this mature, sexy relationship. She's 14, guys. 14.
This post really isn't meant to decry Zutara. I just want people who ship Zutara to get off their high horse of feminism and to accept that they're no better than the rest of us ship loving freaks. Wanting the main girl to bump uglies with the broody emo twink doesn't make you a modern day suffragette. Disliking a main canon pairing isn't a measure of your love for a female character.
Grow up.
Enjoy your ship like a normal person.

thinking about the bad end variation of the lee from the tea shop au again. thinking about how iroh has long since resigned himself to the fact that his nephew is likely dead. he held out hope for as long as he could, but he is certain that if his nephew were alive, someone would have found him by now. azula likely knows what happened to him, but she refuses to talk.
then he receives a letter from sokka, telling him to come to ba sing se.
iroh makes the trek. he does not know what to expect when he gets there. what he gets is a grim-faced sokka, holding a pair of logbooks. he tells him he's found a lead on zuko, and that he needs to read this. he warns him that it's not going to be an easy read- and that he's sorry.
he's right. they are not an easy read.
iroh is an old man now. he was old when he took the throne, but he is older still now. but reading the logbook still stokes a fire in the old man's heart- a simmering rage that makes him want to return to his old ways as a general and burn this wretched city to the ground.
he does not do that, of course.
"the person who did this is dead," sokka says, "-if that's any comfort."
it is not. iroh would have liked to do it himself.
"...i know where to find him," sokka also tells him, "-if you... if you want to meet lee."
iroh does. very much so. sokka directs him to a tea shop called the lotus blossom, in the middle ring. lee runs it. iroh removes his crown headpiece and dons humble robes of earth kingdom brown, styling his hair in earth kingdom fashion. it is enough to disguise him. the tea shop is a modest one- not as fancy as the jasmine dragon had been, but certainly an improvement over pao's.
he is greeted by a young woman with braided hair and a sleeping infant swaddled on her back and is guided to a seat. he asks for the owner's favorite blend- and one of these scrumptious looking fruit tarts, if you do not mind. she returns with them, and iroh drinks deep the scent of jasmine tea.
he always hoped zuko would drink more of it.
there are two young girls sitting at an empty table near him. the eldest is reading a book. the younger is kicking her feet impatiently. iroh can see the fire nation in them, plain as day- as well as in the sleeping infant. he asks the young woman if he might have a chance to speak to the owner. the tea is delicious. he would like to pay his compliments.
she smiles, and tells him she'll fetch her husband right away.
iroh tries very hard not to stare when his nephew emerges from the kitchen. he wears his hair long and braided, concealing his scar with his bangs. he wears the green robes of an earth kingdom man of modest income, and a starched white apron over that. he is taller than he remembers, and carries himself in a different manner entirely.
"dad!" the youngest of the two girls rushes him. "i'm bored. can I go play with my friends?"
his nephew laughs and ruffles her hair. he tells her she can, and asks the eldest- izumi- if she doesn't mind walking her to her friend's place. izumi sighs, but she soon leaves with her younger sister, holding her hand. iroh would place them at around ten and six, if he had to guess.
his nephew greets him with a smile. there is no recognition in his eyes. iroh had anticipated it, but it still hits him like a hard blow. he shows none of this on his face, instead complimenting him on his tea. his nephew thanks him, but is soon pulled away by another customer. iroh watches him out of the corner of his eye.
...it's true. his nephew is a different person now.
but he is alive. he is alive, and he is happy. he has his own family. a successful tea shop. given how long he has resigned himself to zuko being dead, this seems a kinder outcome. iroh lingers in the lotus blossom until closing, simply watching his nephew. he contemplates his next step. sokka has told z- lee the truth, so he could reveal himself.
he could also leave without saying anything.
his nephew has a happy life here. does he really have the right to complicate it even further? and yet... iroh cannot help himself. he has mourned zuko many times over these past two decades. he must speak with lee, or he does not think he can ever let zuko rest.
he lingers past closing time. he knows it is rude behavior, but lee is patient in a way zuko never was. once he is the last person left in the store, iroh stands up and asks lee if he might speak with him again. he removes the five-pronged crown from where he has hidden it, and slides it into his top knot.
"i am told," iroh says, "-that this is where I might find the man who was once my nephew."

Tumblr media
Izumi: We’ll be in your care once again!
Homare: We’ll be in your care. With everyone lending their help, let us make this a fantastic photoshoot.
Staff A: The pleasure is ours!
This may be haste but, can you grab these props?
Homare: Oya, and this is?
Camera man: It’s a paper bag with products inside, as your setting is “A date around bakeries and tea shops”
Homare: Understood, Should I hold onto them like this?
Cameraman: Yep, that’s good! Then we’ll start now~
Izumi: (The photoshoot is starting smoothly, what a pleasant atmosphere.)
Cameraman: First off, please try moving freely as you’d like.
…Yep, just like that!
Cameraman: That’s a good expression.
For the next one, can you look over to this side?
Homare: …
Izumi: (Homare-san point of view is slightly lower?)
(Ah, his gaze is as if there’s a shorter person next to him—like a date!)
Homare: …
Izumi: (Hm? He’s holding out his hand…)
Homare: "...Shall I take your bags? Or shall I hold your hand?”
Staff A: So…So cool!
Staff B: We should’ve taken that as a video~!
Izumi: (They’re right, that was so cool just now. The staff had a nice reaction, this might become the best photoshoot up until now)
Tumblr media
later that week
Izumi: Let’s line up, shall we?
Homare: Mhm…Compared to the time we went to the tea shop, the queue seems to be way shorter, don’t you think?
Izumi: Yeah, while we still have to line up, it’s different compared to that day. We’re lucky!
Homare: While we wait, why don’t we decide on which pastry you’d like?
Izumi: Alright, let’s use this shop’s Inste account so it’s easier to search.
—Eh… Everything looks delicious..Ah.
Homare: What’s wrong?
Izumi: It’s nothing, I saw this french pastry and got reminded of your photoshoot.
Homare: I see, it’s one of the props used.
Izumi: Speaking of which, we were told to check out the photoshoot’s result…they really turned out amazing.
Really, they were giving you high praises.
Homare: Right, right?
It is to be expected, you’d naturally want to escort the person you love.
Izumi: (As expected of Homare-san…!)
(The message being conveyed from the pictures actually felt natural—Because the person himself is truly genuine.)
Choice A: “How wonderful”
Izumi: That’s a wonderful way of thinking.
I can feel those feelings conveyed through the pictures, because it’s that part about Homare-san.
Homare: Do you think it looks just like lovers enjoying their time shopping?
Izumi: Yes, I think that kind of date sounds very fun!
Homare: I’m happy to hear that. Let us have fun to our heart’s content today too.
Izumi: Eh?
Homare: With the two of us standing in a line at the bakery, you can certainly call this a shopping date, yes?
Along with today's date, I’ll put more care—so Director-kun, lest hold yourself back and have fun.
Choice B: “Just like Homare-san”
Izumi: That’s very Homare-like of you.
Homare: Really? I truly think that’s to be expected when it comes to someone you cherish.
That being said, it seems like there aren’t many of those who can escort a woman as intelligent and elegant as I am.
Izumi: (It didn’t even sound sarcastic because it’s Homare-san saying it. That’s amazing…!)
Homare: Hm? Your face is warming up, is there something wrong? Could it be that you’re admiring me?
Izumi: You–you’re wrong! I was just deciding on which ones to buy.
Homare: How fun. Then let’s decide together.
Homare: …Seems like we’ve purchased a lot of things.
Izumi: We spent a lot of time in the queue, so I thought while we’re at it just grab a bunch…
Izumi: (Hm? He’s holding out his hand…?)
Homare: Shall I take it for you?
…Or shall I hold your hand?
Izumi: …Eh?
(Ah! Those were the lines during the photoshoot…!)
Homare-san! Stop teasing me please! Here you go, I’ll leave the bags in your hands!
Homare: Fufu, leave it to me.

[SSR] Taichi | What's Wrong with Being a Ghost
Tumblr media
__________________________
The Arrival of Lord Jiangshi Taichi!? - Part 1
__________________________
*Director's default name as Izumi
ーStorage Room (Day)ー
Taichi: Director-sensei! Should I put the boards here?
Izumi: Yes, it’s better if you lean them against the wall! Omi-kun and Banri-kun, please place the desk over there!
Omi: Got it.
Let’s place this down on the count of three, Banri.
Banri: Roger that. 1, 2, 3-.
Sakyo: Are you done tidying up?
Izumi: Yes, that was the last item!
Everyone, thanks for helping me carry all the stage equipment! It really helps a lot.
Juza: No need for thanks.
Omi: He’s right. They’re all stuff that we used, so it’s a given that we do the clean-up.
Taichi: Besides, there’s no way we can let you hold something heavy and go back and forth so many times!
Banri: Second that. You can always count on us if you need help.
Izumi: You guys...! Thank you so much!
Sakyo: Hurry and get out if you have nothing else to do here. I’m going to close the storage room.
Taichi: Oka-y!
...Huh?
Izumi: What’s wrong, Taichi-kun?
Taichi: There’s something like a talisman stuck on the wall over there.
Izumi: What? Oh, you’re right.
Omi: Was it there before...?
Banri: Who knows? I didn’t notice it until now.
Juza: First time seein’ it. What about you, Sakyo-san?
Sakyo: No clue, I don’t recognize it either.
Taichi: Eh... Even Sakyo-nii doesn’t know? T-that’s a bit creepy...
Banri: Come on, it’s nothing to be scared of.
Izumi: Ah!
(He tore off the talisman...!)
Tumblr media
Taichi: EHH!? B-Ban-chan! You’re gonna get divine retribution, you know!
Izumi: Yeah! I also think you should just leave it be...
Banri: Both of you are scaredy-cats. Everything’s fine~. I’ll show you proof right now.
Taichi: ...B-Ban-chan, why’re you coming closer towards me...?
Banri: Here ya go!
Taichi: --!
Izumi: What the-! What are you doing, Banri-kun?!
Banri: I’m just demonstrating that you won’t be punished merely by one talisman. Look, nothing’s happening to Taichi when I put it on him.
Izumi: Y-you’re right, but...
Juza: You coulda put it on yourself, not him.
Banri: Hah? What’re you sayin? It’d be easier to understand if I tried it on someone who’s scared.
Sakyo: Hey, stop fighting. Come on and get out of the room already.
Izumi: Y-yes, sir. Sorry.
Taichi: ......
Banri: Taichi? What’s gotten into you?
Taichi: ......
Izumi: (I feel like something’s off about him...)
Are you okay, Taichi-kun? Do you feel unwell...?
Taichi?: Cease making a fuss, human woman.
Izumi: Eh?
Taichi?: I have just awoken, so refrain from yapping in my ear.
Banri: ...!?
Izumi: EHH!? T-Taichi-kun?!

The Arrival of Lord Jiangshi Taichi!? - Part 2

―Lounge―
Taichi?: ...Hm, quite plain-looking this couch is.
Izumi: (Something’s wrong with him...)
Sakyo: Why’s Nanao acting like that...
Omi: It’s not like the usual Taichi at all.
Taichi?: Nanao? Taichi? Whom are you speaking of?
Banri: It’s you! That’s your name!
Taichi: Hm, so it was I whom you meant. Hear me, you insolent lot. I forbid you to call me that hereafter.
I am a noble being; therefore, you shall now call me ‘Lord Taichi’.
Banri: Wow, what a pain...
Juza: It’s your fault to begin with.
Banri: No one ever thought this would happen, dammit!
Sakyo: Shut up, you brats! Or else we can’t get to the main topic!
Tumblr media
Juza & Banri: ...Sorry.
Izumi: Umm, Taichi-kun.
Taichi?: ‘Lord’ Taichi.
Izumi: ...Lord Taichi, we removed the talisman that was on you. So, um... Are you not returning...to your usual self...?
Taichi?: Usual self? You say the strangest things. I have always been like this, am I not?
Izumi: I-I suppose so...
Taichi?: More importantly, my throat is parched.
Omi: Would you like some tea?
Taichi?: Does the tea you brew taste exquisite?
Omi: Hm... Well, I’d say it’s pretty normal.
Taichi?: In that case, you are permitted. You should feel honored to serve me tea.
Sakyo: ...Damn bothersome. He’s being unnecessarily pompous.
Taichi?: That four-eyes over there. Did you say something about me?
Sakyo: Hah? What’d you just call me?
Izumi: S-Sakyo-san! You need to hold back!
Sakyo: ...Tch. I didn’t say anything.
Taichi?: If that is so, then good. You must always pay respect to me.
Sakyo: ...I’ll give him a punch if he ever goes back to normal.
Izumi: Please don’t! The original Taichi-kun didn’t do anything wrong!
―Lounge (Evening)―
(Hmm, I can’t think of any good idea...)
...Oh, it’s already this late. I gotta go buy some groceries...
Taichi?: Hm? Human woman, are you planning to head out?
Izumi: Ah, yes. I need to buy some ingredients for our dinner.
Taichi?: Hm... Very well, I shall accompany you.
Izumi: Oh, you want to come along too?
Taichi?: It seems like exactly what I need to relieve my boredom. Or do you feel dissatisfied with me?
Izumi: N-no, I don’t! Uh, well, let’s go together then.
Omi: Should I tag along as well?
Juza: It’d be tough to deal with him alone.
Izumi: Thank you. I appreciate the thought, but it’s okay.
I rather want everyone else to think of ways to bring back the usual Taichi-kun while we’re out shopping.
Sakyo: ...You’re right, it’s better we do that.
Banri: Take care, Director-chan.
Taichi?: Hey, what are you whispering about? Make haste and guide me to the outside.
Izumi: Right, sorry for the wait. Alright guys, I’ll be going now! Bye!
__________________________
The Arrival of Lord Jiangshi Taichi!? - Part 3
__________________________
Tumblr media
Taichi?: ...I wonder how long it has been since I walked down the streets.
Izumi: Do you know this street, Lord Taichi?
Taichi?: No, it is very different from the one I know of.
Izumi: (So he’s not a resident of Veludo Town...)
High school girl A: Hey, hey! Doesn’t that guy look cool!?
High school girl B: I get you! The way he acts is like, so manly and dreamy!
Taichi?: Hoh, I see those human children are smart enough to understand my greatness. Good, good. I shall let them praise me all they want.
Izumi: (He sure looks very happy...)
Taichi?: Hey, human woman. Why have you been staring at me for a while now?
If you have something to say, let it out. I am currently in a good mood, so I will listen to what you have to say at the very least.
Izumi: Oh, um, well...
🌸 Choice 1: Ask him about the street he knows
Izumi: What kind of place is the street that you know of? Taichi?: Let me think... It was beautiful and solemn, befitting the noble me.
🌸 Choice 2: Ask him who he really is
Izumi: Who exactly are you? Taichi?: That is quite a nonsense question. I am none other than me, nothing else.
Izumi: (Hmm, I still don’t get him after all..)
Taichi?: Are you done questioning? Then let us move along and be done with the ‘shopping’.
―Supermarket―
Housewife: Oh my, what a dashing boy. Are you helping the girl with the groceries?
Auntie: Fufu, you’re quite a charming man. I wouldn’t have taken my eyes off you had I been 20 years younger.
Izumi: (Wow, he’s surrounded by women in no time at all. It’s almost the same as Tenma-kun...)
Taichi?: What is the matter, human woman? Are you feeling jealous? Fret not, as you are the number one for me.
Izumi: Um, I’m sorry, but I will have to say no to that.
―Lounge (Night)―
Izumi: We’re home~!
Banri: Thank god, you’re back!
Omi: Are you alright?
Izumi: Yup, thanks for worrying about me.
Taichi?: You are supposed to greet me first, you fools. Quite rude servants, I say.
Sakuya: Woah, they’re right! He’s acting very different, just like what I heard!
Yuki: True, it’s not the usual dumb dog.
Tumblr media
Taichi?: ...? I see new faces here.
Muku: Finally you're here, Taichi-kun! Well then, it’s time I use this amulet!
Izumi: Amulet...?
Sakyo: Sakisaka wanted to try using the amulet that he made to break the curse. Though I doubt it’ll work.
Kazunari: Well, you’ll never know unless you try!
Muku: Here I go-! O wandering soul, free yourself from the body of the living...
Izumi: (He started chanting a mysterious incantation...)
Muku: ...And may you take the path to Heaven at once!
-Yah!
Taichi?: Urk-!
Izumi: Taichi-kun! Are you okay?!
Taichi: ...Mm... Huh? What happened, guys?
Sakyo: !?
Kazunari: That’s crazy! His amulet really works!
Taichi: W-what’re you guys talking about...?
Izumi: Well, it’s kind of a long story... Anyway, I’m so glad you’re back to normal!
Taichi: ???
Sakyo: Brace yourself, Nanao.
Taichi: HUH!? W-why!?
Izumi: Hey, Muku-kun. What kind of amulet did you make?
Muku: One that will chase off Jiangshi!
If the amulet made him turn back to normal, then that means a Jiangshi possessed his body!
Izumi: A Jiangshi!? But why is such a thing in the storage room...?
Taichi: Nevermind that, Director-sensei! Please save me! Sakyo-nii’s being super scary~!!
Sakyo: Think of this as your punishment for the trouble you’ve caused!
Taichi: Ueeehh! Anyone~! Save me~!!!
Story Clear!

Hello!!! Your dialogues that you compose are very interesting. Can you please do a dialogue of how Ozai reacts to Izumi/ or a dialogue with her and him. pls🥺
"Hello Grandfather."
Ozai slowly lifted his head at the familiar voice.
"Izumi."
She placed down a tea tray then began to fill the two cups. "It's been a while."
"It has." Ozai agreed.
Last time, she was a mere child, wide eye and full of questions. Now she was stoic and quiet. Nearly a woman.
"They told you, didn't they."
"Yes." She slipped the steaming cup between the bars.
"And yet, you return."
"Yes."
Ozai studied her carefully. She resembled his own daughter in every way except for those bright golden eyes. The ones that mirrored his son's. The ones that mirrored his.
"Here to seek revenge?"
"No." Izumi poured a cup for herself. "As far as I'm concerned, justice has already been served. And you never wronged me personally."
"Then why are you here?"
"I promised to bring oolong next time, didn't I?" Izumi brought the cup to her lips.
Ozai blinked.
"Do you remember, Grandfather?"
"Yes..." Ozai gingerly picked up the cup, still warm to the touch.
"A promise is a promise." Izumi continued.
"Indeed Granddaughter" Ozai took a sip. It's been so long since he felt anything remotely warm on the inside. "Indeed."

Inspired by a fic on AO3- Only Love on Offer (not mine but it’s a work of art)
Diverges at the bedroom scene:
“You really don’t understand me at all do you?”
Azula was confused and opened her mouth to respond, when Zuko decided to throw caution to the wind and kissed her.
Shes’s stunned speechless for a long moment and he is nervous waiting for her to respond, when she takes a step forward and hesitantly presses her lips against his.
This progresses to a sweet first time, it’s a little painful for Azula but Zuko is so gentle with her and takes it on himself to please her as much as he possibly can. Afterwords they’re cuddling, neither really believing what they just did.
“How long have you…?”
“Always really. But I didn’t figure it out until a couple weeks before I was banished.”
“And you- even after-“
“Always LaLa.”
Flash forward and the two of them haven’t slept apart in days/weeks, not always sex but always in love. They use secret passages in order to make sure no one finds out, Zuko tells her about the spirit water and the assassin he hired to try and make sure the job was done. She leans on him, finally having someone who loves her and isn’t afraid to make sure she knows it.
Then two things happen:
Ozai decides it’s time to find a his daughter a husband, and Azula misses her period.
They have to move fast, Zuko is not going to let Ozai burn the Earth Kingdom to the ground, take his sister-lover away from him, or be a threat to their baby. Azula is totally willing to kill Ozai, but for plot reasons they decide to go with the help the Avatar route.
When Zuko goes to the Gaang he admits that he’d already been having doubts, but ultimately finding out his lover was pregnant, and due to it being both out of wedlock and the nature of their relationship, the only way for them to be together would be if he was Fire Lord.
They all come up with their own theories as to who the mystery woman is and general consensus is that she was either not Fire Nation or a servant.
Despite Zuko’s assurances that at the very least Azula was on his side and wouldn’t go against them with him there, they still go to the palace to make a claim for Fire Lord and Katara is ready for a fight.
Azula has had the palace evacuated and fired most of her maids so her pregnancy stayed a secret, she’s now Fire Lord and to everyone’s surprise but Zuko’s warmly welcomes her brother home. As she’s the Fire Lord no one can argue with her. She admits that she doesn’t want to be Fire Lord, that all she wants is to live her life as she pleased with whom she chose, and has the stunned Fire Sages crown Zuko. The second the coronation is done he hugs her, Katara is wary but relieved that everything has gone so well and is happy to see the two of them so happy for each other.
They take things inside and Zuko asks how Azula is doing and she smiles says they’re both fine and puts his hand on her bump. At this point Katara puts the pieces together and is completely disgusted, but Azula points out this is the least terrible thing the royal family had ever done, and the two of them were still the best option the world had.
Things are a nightmare of post war dealings and the wedding winds up being ‘quiet’ by royal standards- only the ambassadors and the entire royal court attended. Aang managed to get the rest of the Gaang to show up in support (he’s the only one who out and out does not care about the incest).
Iron is completely against the relationship, he doesn’t try to hide that fact, he’s polite enough to attend the wedding and keep his mouth shut during it, but loudly says at every other opportunity that he doesn’t think it’s a good idea nor does he approve.
That all changes the second an ecstatic Zuko, practically vibrating with excitement as he holds his newborn daughter, sets Izumi into his arms.
“This is grandpa my little turtleduck.”
After that he is completely on board and their staunchest defender. He spends the rest of his life happily drinking tea surrounded by his many grandbabies.
It is a work of art indeed, and once again, WHY does the zucest community just not post their stuff? Thank you for sharing it, anon.
Also, I think it'd be pretty in character for Azula to not kill her dad even if she ever grows to feel he deserves it. I even imagine Zuko not being able to go through with it. They were both so dependent on him emotionally and for validation for so long, it makes sense that even if they grew to not want him in their lives at all, and maybe had some pretty ugly confrontations with him too, they still wouldn't feel right about killing him.

Dance with me - Kyalin
We were all sitting at the dinner table on the Air Temple Island celebrating Katara's birthday. The other airbenders had gone on missions around the world in order to give some space for the family to celebrate. Tenzin and Pema made sure to decorate the entire temple in honor of the matriarch, making sure to gather the whole family. The children didn't stop for a second, running around. Bumi had arrived a few days ago and was his usual playful self. Kya had appeared the night before from some lost place in the Earth Kingdom.
Tenzin had shown up at the station early in the morning and dragged me to the temple to help with the decorations and for dinner. When I tried to sneak out towards the end of the afternoon, Katara herself intercepted me and dragged me back inside. After hours of preparation and the beginning of dinner, Pema finally served dessert and I saw the opportunity to escape and finally breathe fresh air when Korra dropped the bomb on the table.
"Why didn't your girlfriend come, Kya?" she asked while serving herself sweet breads.
Kya choked on the tea she was drinking and the table fell into silence. The younger ones looked at the older ones, not understanding. I was about to get up from the table when I met Kya's eyes, which diverted to the tea in her hands, I could feel Katara, Zuko, and Izumi's eyes on me while Tenzin and Bumi looked at their sister. Kya didn't lift her eyes from the cup in her hands when she answered.
"We broke up a while ago," she said and suddenly the table came back to life when Bolin, oblivious to the conversation, made a joke and the others followed excitedly.
"Lin?" I heard Zuko's voice next to me when I stood up.
"Just air, uncle," I said quietly, putting my hand on his shoulder.
I needed to get out of that room, needed to breathe without feeling the smell of incense and fresh tea. Passing through the door, I noticed a package next to my work bag, I crouched down to see what it was and ended up smiling when I pulled out a bottle of Fire Nation whiskey, Zuko's favorite. I reached for the bar cart that Bumi insisted on putting in the room and grabbed a glass, walking out the door.
The night was cool, which made me thankful for choosing a button-up shirt with rolled-up sleeves for the night. I walked towards the gazebo to the east of the island, with the best view of the place. From the gazebo, it was possible to see the moon rising and Republic City completely illuminated. I leaned on the railing and poured myself a shot of whiskey.
I knew it was a terrible idea, that whole night. I shouldn't have let myself be dragged by Tenzin and his idea of a family gathering, I knew it would reopen old wounds and I was too old for that. Korra and her friends thought my problem with Tenzin had been because of Pema, which was funny because it was so wrong. My problem with Tenzin had been for covering up his sister. For letting her leave without telling me a word, for letting my marriage be thrown away like an useless piece of clothing, and he liked to say he was my best friend.
I sighed, staring at the magnificent full moon rising on the horizon. It made me think of all the times I had been in that same gazebo, watching the moon rise with a beautiful woman by my side. Many times sitting on the railing with Kya comfortably between my legs and talking about future plans. At that time, I could never have imagined everything that would happen.
"Are you going to say something or just stand there?" I asked, still staring at the rising moon.
"Did you sense me coming?" I heard the voice coming from the entrance of the gazebo.
"Your heartbeat gave you away," I said taking a sip of whiskey.
"Do you still recognize them?" Surprise was evident in her tone of voice. I let out a frustrated puff, of course I remembered. You don't spend years with someone, sharing life without memorizing every detail.
"It's not something you forget, Kya," I said without looking away. I was tired, tired of avoiding the woman next to me in recent years, tired of pretending to hate her, even when every cell in my body still loved her, tired of blaming myself for letting our marriage crumble. "What are you doing here, Kya?"
"You left without saying anything," Kya commented as she approached slowly.
"I don't need to stay to hear about your new partners," my response came out a bit harsher than I intended.
"Lin..." Kya began at the same time I murmured an apology.
We fell into a heavy silence as Kya leaned against my side and stared at the moon.
"How did we get to this?" Kya asked.
"Seriously?" I asked, letting out a laugh.
"Oh, no." Kya shook her head. "I know why, I'm wondering about everything after. I left, but we never spoke again."
"I've been avoiding you," I said.
"I know," she said with a small smile on her face. "I shouldn't have gone."
"No." I spoke up abruptly. "Let's not do this, Ky."
"Ky?" I realized what I said when she looked at me with her eyes shining. I cursed myself, remembering all the times I had called her that, softly and affectionately. I avoided her eyes as I stepped away from the railing.
"I forgave you, Kya," I said, one hand pushing a strand of hair from her face. "But I'm not going to pretend it's okay to be here and listen to your adventures around the world with other people. I can't pretend it doesn't hurt." I let go of her grip and took two steps away.
"Dance with me," I heard Kya say.
"What?" I asked turning around.
"Dance with me, Chief," she repeated, extending her hand. I met her eyes, those same eyes that changed like the sea, crystal clear and clean on calm days, dark and angry like stormy nights. And I was someone who had seen both sides.
I stared at her hand extended towards me, everything in her posture challenged me to accept her invitation. A convinced smile on her face, as if saying she could have the world at her feet, but her racing heart betrayed how nervous she was. I took a step forward, reaching for her hand and pulling her into my arms.
"Do you still remember?" I asked softly as I placed one hand on her waist and lifted the other.
"How could I forget?" Kya retorted, her eyes shining. I took a step back, bringing Kya with me as I started a song we had danced so many times before. We fell into an old and familiar rhythm, we had danced that song countless times, enough to know the steps without even listening.
That was the first song we danced together, in the comfort of a small apartment downtown. After a long day of patrol, all I wanted was to come home, take a shower, and put my feet up. All those plans disappeared when I opened the door to the house and saw Kya dancing alone in the living room. She pulled me into her arms and made me lead a waltz throughout the apartment.
At the end of that song, Kya looked into my eyes with so much love and asked if we could dance like that at our wedding. It was the first time either of us had touched on the subject. I just smiled and pulled her into another song. That had been almost thirty years ago.
I guided Kya through the gazebo as if we were in a full moon night in the temple hall. As if this moment was part of that night so many years ago, where Kya took my breath away when she entered the island temple wearing a beautiful wedding dress, with the moonlight and some points of light illuminating the place, she had never looked so beautiful. I spun the woman in my arms as if she were still mine, as if the last fifteen years hadn't happened. Fifteen years without the woman of my life by my side, fifteen years without feeling her skin or the smell that emanated from her hair.
During the last spin, I could see that I wasn't the only one remembering, Kya's facial expression said a lot, longing, regret, fear, all mixed in a soft and sad smile. I pulled her back, her head resting on my shoulder as she settled in. I felt tears wetting my shirt when she let go of my hand and wrapped both arms around my back.
"Are you still my woman, Kya?" I asked with a thin voice, my hands resting on her back. I felt Kya tighten my shirt as a tremor passed through her body.
"I never stopped being, love," she said softly as her eyes met mine.

The Rise of Smoking House Culture
Introduction
Since the passing of Avatar Korra, numerous cultural and economical changes have taken root in the Fire Nation. Dozens of formerly subjugated states have gained independence; the Posthumous Edicts of Izumi the Kind have revolutionized the arts and diplomacy; the tea house has fallen out of favour, and the smoking house risen in its place. Why is that last development so often overlooked - and how did it happen?
Anchi Airport
Our first clue presents itself in one of the birthplaces of the electrical revolution: Anchi Airport. Situated on the northeastern isles, Anchi was not initially a favourable port. The notoriously dangerous reefs off its coast sank many an earth kingdom ship in the 170s AG, and the surrounding mountainous enclaves were long considered preferable for trade despite their lacking road infrastructure.
Then, of course, came the air plane. Fast enough to deliver fresh goods from the Earth Kingdom (and, to a lesser extent, Republic City), the plane transformed the flat region of Anchi into an economic hub for food, tea, and volatile electrical components, and the populace took notice - restaurants and tea houses sprang up around the air ports formerly used by airships and nomads. Initially, these served as the seed for smoking halls as we know them today, in spite of the much different appearance! People gathered; people ate good food, drank good tea; people smoked the already popular "Daima Hay", a precursor of the many cultivars known today as smokeleaf or simply anchi. This is where the story might have ended, with restaurants and tea houses frequented by the occasional smoker. Might have - had it not been for the Hu-De Monopolies Incident.
Hu-De Export
Hu-De was once a town. There is no sugarcoating it, though it is regrettable: barely anyone today even recognises the name, let alone its importance in the tea trade. The place is dead, for all intents and purposes. Formerly it was a great grower and reseller of white and green teas, though, and for reasons that need not concern the reader of this piece, it tried to capitalize on this position by forcing the world's entire trade in tea and related goods through its own handful of companies, and this plan would become known as the Hu-De Monopolies Incident.
Needless to say, the plan failed - connoisseur readers will recognize the region of Silver Hills as the chiefest producer of white tea. Still, the incident left impressions. Tea was, in the eyes of those with a growing nationalistic sentiment, an Earth Kingdom export forced upon the firebenders by coin-greedy merchants. Especially those concerned with trade themselves, as in Anchi many were, saw tea as an insidious personal attack. While that is, of course, complete nonsense, tea houses began to lose customers, with many only staying in business by operating at a loss.
Some pivoted to readeries. A few became restaurants. Crucially, however, some enterpreneuring individuals recognized the opportunity at their hands: buying up large quantities of Daima Hay, they rebuilt their tea houses as smoking spots for the politically minded woman, calling her to theorise, chart infrastructure plans (a precursor of the artistic supplies found today!), and socialise in the new "smoking house" - rebranding to avoid associations with tea. The sudden increase in mass buyups of material also forced growers of Daima Hay to identify their goods in more detail, putting a hefty markup on species thought to increase willpower and architectural genius, and leaving strains that merely increased appetite and joy to the specialist grower. This is how the tea house, at least in Anchi, became obsolete in favour of the smoking house. But how come the smokery doesn't look anything like a tea house?
Temple Support
The answer to the question of smoking house decoration grows, as it were, from several roots. One of the more obvious reasons lies in the Warring Avatars Period. The smoking hall became a place for small communities to plot their protections against the wars between the Avatars, then a place of gathering for comfort in community, then a place of comfort more generally. The tall, hard chairs were supplanted by soft seating bags imported from the New Northern Air Temple. The air nomads' influence did not stop there, however - their traders and diplomats worked with locals, causing a more general exchange of ideas. The incense hall used by the nomads inspired the use of soft chimes (or on occasion, quiet music) and the use of incense; ventilation procedures and infrastructure were copied almost directly from the structures built into temple rocks, making for the unobtrusive but numerous tubes leading into the ceiling and walls; even the snacks so synonymous with smokeries only became predominantly fatty and vegetarian due to Southern Temple cuisine, as with the tall, refreshing fruit drinks.
The air benders in turn brought home ideas from the smoking hall: drawing boards and painting materials, now inextricable from the community halls of the Temples, are an export from the smoking hall of Anchi!
Modern Import
In modern times, the vibrant smoking house culture of Anchi hardly recalls the tea houses of yesteryear. With a great variety of leaves to choose from, creative supplies, and unobtrusive food and drink consumed without any ceremony, it is no wonder that the smoking house has started to conquer the entire fire archipelago with its charms. On its way through the islands, it is steadily picking up innovations from the states it passes through. Sweet Kukkuri herbs are gaining popularity for smoke flavouring; off-tempo Biku music suffuses many a house in the west. Where will the smoking house go next, and what wondrous changes may this icon of the Fire Isles undergo? The vibrant styles shall arise from those of its people, and one day, the smoking house may be a reflection of your very heart.

I fucking love getting stationery/notebooks as gifts esp. as I'm starting to do analog note-writing stuff more... my jetpens wishlist is very long and it's a major problem. I tend to be very like practicality focused so I also like stuff like, mugs and stuff since I drink a lot of tea. besides that I also like getting hats as gifts a lot esp. newsboy style caps since they're the style I wear most often.

AiDeku Fem!Izuku (Fem!Kirishima???) Remarried Empress AU
Izumi is the "Childhood Sweetheart" and wife of Emperor Katsuki Bakugou via an arranged marriage.
Bakugou brings home a woman (Ochako? Fem!Kirishima?? Mina??? Camie????) Who becomes his mistress.
He eventually decides to divorce Izumi so he can married his Mistress.
Izumi finds out about this and runs into the King of a neighboring Kingdom that she's made friends with in the past few months.
After they met at the new year ball that her Empire hosted.
King Aizawa Shouta.
Who has recently ascended to the throne after the death of his elder brother the previous King.
And who is in need of a Queen.
So when Bakugou requests the divorce from the High Priest Izumi agrees without a fight and request approval for remarriage to King Shouta.
And is married then and there.
I know I didn't quite hit everything in the prompt, but I really enjoyed this one and I hope you enjoy it as well! This is the last of the prompts, so thanks so much to everyone who participated! I had a blast!
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Izumi had never wanted to be Empress.  But she'd loved Katsuki, and he was set to become Emperor, so she'd adjusted her plans and supported him.  But their childhood romance turned marriage had started to dull for Katsuki after he'd ascended to the throne of the Emperor, and Izumi hadn't been surprised when he'd brought a mistress home.  If she was being totally honest, she even liked Kirishima-the other woman was far from the delicate lady Izumi had been groomed to be her entire life, and Izumi enjoyed her company immensely.  She could have lived with it-and then Katsuki had decided to divorce her to marry his mistress.  Izumi would always have a soft spot for Kirishima, because she had been the one to warn Izumi about it and apologize.
But despite what Katsuki thought, Izumi had friends beyond his Empire, and King Shouta had made it clear that he felt like Izumi deserved better-and that he could provide it to her.  She knew how the system worked-if she didn't have another man lined up willing to marry her after Katsuki divorced her-and he would divorce her-then Katsuki would have free reign to marry her to someone of his choosing, and she had no interest in that situation.
"Tell me, King Shouta," Izumi murmured over tea one evening while in Shouta's country on what she'd claimed was an attempt at an alliance, "What is your opinion on marrying a divorced woman?"
Shouta's eyes were dark and considering as he watched her.  "That depends, Empress," he said, leaning forward slightly.  "If that woman is you?  My opinion would be very favorable indeed."
Izumi smiled.

[Itachi Uchiha X Reader] First Snow {Part 4}
Prologue Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 5 Part 6 Part 7 Part 8 Part 9 Part 10 Part 11 Part 12
Pairing: Itachi Uchiha x fem!Reader
Note: Phewwww, another angsty part coming :DD I don't know why I keep writing angsty stuff but believe me, it will be worth it in the end! You will see friend Izumi in this one again :D Enjoy!
~~/ /You tucked on the hem of your shirt and stood up unsteadily, gliding your motionless feet along the hard ground, “I’m sorry, it’s my fault. I should have stayed until my shift ended. I’ll go and apologize to her.”/ /~~
Tumblr media
You dragged yourself to the front gates of Konoha Hospital, the sun was rising—it was probably five in the morning when you came. Still dressed in the attire you wore for yesterday’s dinner with your hair messy and face more than pale, you made your way to the receptionist. It was the second time you came here, the first time was to do a check-up when you first arrived at Konoha and the second time was to visit your husband’s love.
The receptionist recognized you almost immediately but she was startled to see your body in such a frail state. The woman hastily pulled you aside, “Are you alright, Miss?”
You could feel your forehead burning but you replied an okay, asking for Izumi’s room number. She kindly showed you the direction and even offered to walk you there. However, you softly thanked her and went to Izumi’s yourself, fearing that whatever you were about to do would implicate her. After that night, you certainly knew what Izumi was capable of.
On your way there, you suddenly felt pain in your stomach. All you could guess was that it was because of your high fever, hence, you went back down to the ground floor’s pharmacy to purchase some medicaments to treat yourself. Then, you realized that you came empty-handed, making your way outside once more to buy some flowers at a nearby shop. The abrupt changes in temperature that you went through gave you a headache and severe hypothermia. Your hands were shaking when you placed your money on the counter at the flower shop. The middle-aged owner generously took you in and gave you a cup of warm tea to aid your shivering body.
Later on, you got to know that the shop belonged to the Yamanaka family. She told you that she had a daughter younger than you who often came to help around with the family’s business. She also shared that the girl was head over heels for Sasuke. Sasuke, your brother-in-law? You could not help but smile at the coincidence, Sasuke indeed took after his older brother a lot. He was a capable Ninja, even at a young age, and managed to appear cooler than his said sibling, which gained him a great amount of admiration. You gratefully thanked her and promised to visit her shop again soon, then left for the hospital.
You knocked on the door daintily and pushed it open once Izumi allowed you to come in. It was six in the morning and she was up, sitting with her back against a pillow. Her expression remained unchanged when she saw you at the door as if she had expected you to show up this morning. Izumi nonchalantly smiled, “You guys are truly kind! Itachi just left no longer than hours ago, and now his wife is here for a visit.”
“I’m sorry,” you mumbled, feeling your ears ringing. You tried your best to remain calm and arranged the peonies into the white ceramic vase on the bedside table.
“What did you say? I couldn’t hear you.”
You moved closer to the bed with your head hanging low, “I’m sorry, I—”
Before you were finished your sentence, a slap landed on your right cheek, and you staggered backward. Then, the moment Izumi’s eyes settled on the fresh peonies, she hastily knocked them to the floor with a forceful swat. You gasped in shock, still not recovered from her attack, leaning away out of instinct to dodge the falling vase. The pink blossoms lied scattered on the white tiles, droplets of water once sat still on the petals now sprinkled on the floor, and the ceramic vase was in pieces.
You steadied yourself and bent down to pick up the fragments of the white vase, “I’m sorry, I didn’t know you don’t like peonies.”
“You really know how to make me angry, Y/N!”
You felt the blood rushing upward, making you dizzy. Just then, the door was once again pushed open. This time, it was Itachi who came inside. You instantaneously pulled your scarf up to cover your swollen cheek and looked away.
Izumi immediately called out, “Itachi, look! Y/N came over and wanted to pour the water on me! If she didn’t trip on her feet, I would have been drenched by now. I’ve just recovered from my fever, yet she was planning to give me another one!”
"I didn't, I—,"
You stopped and glanced up at him, hope crossed your eyes, but dimmed the moment he spoke. “Clean up and get out of here. I don’t want you near Izumi in the future.”
You were too tired to argue with him, turning back to pick up the shattered vase. Your hasty touches and lack of concentration resulted in a splintered finger. For worse, it was right on the wound you got from falling onto the ground when Itachi shoved you earlier. Blood started to drip from the cut to the floor, crimson on top of pure white, stinging your vision. It was a deep cut, and sanguine fluid did not stop oozing out from the gaping wound.
Your movements slowed down drastically, and Izumi noticed it. She looked in your direction, causing Itachi, who was feeding her, to stare at you as well. He snapped, “What’s wrong with you? How useless can you be, Y/N?”
You bit down on your lip, tearing the fabric of your scarf to poorly wrap it around your finger, hoping the material would temporarily stop your blood from draining. Then you reached for the paper used to wrap the peonies on the bedside table on the bedside table to roll up the broken pieces of ceramic, carrying them outside. After that, you returned with a mop to clean up the excess water on the floor. Itachi never spared you a glance during the whole process, and Izumi was thoroughly enjoying your suffering. You could feel your face heating up again, the medicine you took earlier was no longer effective. You tried to waddle away from the scene as fast as you could, trudging along the wall to stop yourself from caving in.
You only stopped once you were out of Izumi’s ward and slumped down onto the marble floor lifelessly. Your mind was in a daze while your eyes fluttered, struggling to open. Shortly after you went out, you heard footsteps approaching, and Itachi's voice registered itself into your head. “We are hosting a dinner for other clans’ heirs, don’t disappoint the Uchiha clan.”

Partway through the 2000 Batgirl run with Cassandra Cain as the headliner. Thoughts so far:
Cass is very snarky I love her.
Disabled teen girl vigilante with disabled woman vigilante mentor is so good and more comics need to do this. I want Izumi Curtis to have tea with Barbara Gordon while Cass & the Elric brothers beat the crap out of each other in backyard.
The instances where she saves someone at first but the baddies manage to kill them anyway are genuinely upsetting.
David Cain is the WORST and should be in jail because he’d hate that more than being killed.
Bruce has jammed his head so far up his ass and Barbara is 100% done with him. More comics should also do awkward co-parenting.
A wild Tim appears! Friendship achieved, as is inevitable with Tim.
Cass has a realistic level of Anger At The World and What’s A Future? We Just Don’t Know for a teenage character.

I've designed an outfit for when Kyouka grows up, the first one in her normal colour scheme I quite like but I wanted to try my hand coming up with a design myself for when Kyouka chan becomes Izumi san (I'm normally a traditional artist and I drew this in Microsoft paint so please ignore the quality)
The split design is from Kouyou who had a big impact on Kyoukas life, and loved her despite her shortcomings in showing it
The red is from Kyoukas normal colour scheme but a lighter shade, a way of accepting the past but not needing to let it go
The blue is the shade her mother wore, Kyouka still loves her mother very much but also acknowledges that she did bad thing but was still a good person just like her
The flowers are like the ones in her hair as well and being white to symbolise Atsushi
Her hakama is black as a way of emulating Yosano who to Kyouka is the ideal woman and person she really looks up to as she is someone who helps others and is incredibly strong
I didn't draw shoes but i imagine she'd either wear her normal sandals or a nice pair of boots
In the future I'd like to think she'd be one of the agencies main field agents as well as a medic as with demon snow she can defend herself and patients/civilians
She would also be Atsushis partner as well as Yosanos go to assistant
She will also have made her peace with Kouyou and the occasionally meet up for tea and crepes
For references i went through @tanuki-kimono s hakama tag tney have a lot of good picture if your interested in drawing kimonos
