God, the way I NEED Jacob Anderson to have 15 emmys right now. He should be the most sought after, booked and blessed actor in the whole goddamned industry, projects should be clawing and scratching each other to get to his feet so they could grovel for his attention. He should be able to pick and choose from roles written for him whenever he wants.
The deranged 'and I'll laaauughhhh' sent chills down my spine. Because regardless of whether or not that recollection is truthful, the way Louis' threats are delivered by Jacob makes me believe Louis would say them. We have never seen him as unhinged as in that scene, but it feels organic. The complexity and nuance that Jacob brings to Louis cannot be overstated and the grounded way he occupies that character with all his flaws and virtues and quirks and issues is just marvellous. Idon't even know what I'm saying

Armand is so full of shit this week. I love it so much ><
I could not prevent it??? I use all my strength 🥺🥺 i am just sad little kitten, they put me in the box and made me watch 😢😢 oh no. These scary younger than me vampires were threatening me and you have to understand i have no power upon them to fight back. (Only that he actually have.) The only thing i could do was thinking how to save you Louis. Claudia? Well... I... Already used all my strength for you.
And you would think i should love him less after that. But no. I only love him more.

Okay, on one hand the entire narrative of IWTV would not be anywhere near as good if Claudia survived and her death was vital to the story and the emotional journey all the characters go through. On the other hand, I'm going to have to read/write several fics of her and Madeleine getting to wander through France and the rest of Europe before I can think of episode 7 without crying hysterically.

Ok, so PLEASE tell me that Claudia’s line about the afterlife means they’re gonna go hard on Ghost Claudia now that AMC is officially expanding the Rice Universe 👀🤞🏾

I noticed something in my feelings after ep7. For the whole 2 season I've been thinking mostly about Armand, his relationships with Louis and Daniel, his story. But after Lestat's returning in ep7 I keep thinking about him. All cast are brilliant actors (can anyone doubt after this episode?), but he is the centre of attention.
And it's so right. Because Lestat should be a gravity center of this story, and the show and especially Sam Reid do it perfectly.

No but fr I was ready to scrap during this scene 😑
This moment cannot be captured in gifs. You can feel the madness in Lestat's mannerisms and hear it in his voice. He is not even a little bit okay. This early part of the performance is based on the biggest lie of the trial: that Lestat was the one who was hunted by Louis. And I imagine that was the hardest thing to sell for him. The idea that he hasn't always wanted Louis from the very moment he laid eyes on him. It's understandable that he almost lost himself a second later. That he dissociated and forgot his lines. That standing there and lying about that truest truth of their early love story—that Lestat wanted him so much it was agony—was nearly an impossible task for him...
I'm going to need to digest the episode a bit more and rewatch the whole thing to fully grasp what I think Armand the coven was doing when they forced him to lie about this specifically when so much of the rest of the performance was based on truth (and Louis confirmed as much when he said Lestat's recounting of Claudia's turning was accurate). But I think it's probably just that it plays into the whole Lestat The Victim narrative they were trying to sell much better...

Jacob said that Lestat constantly appeared in Louis' imagination because he brought Louis comfort. so during the interview, remembering the trial and Claudia's death, remembering Claudia herself, despite the fact that everything was presented as if Lestat was guilty of letting Claudia die and Louis is supposed to hate Lestat
Louis sees Lestat again, feeling the need for his comforting presence. bc he knows

What if Armand's powers were not there any more ( if we want to to believe him) after mind controlling audience bc he already used a majority of them to mind control resisting Lestat? Yeah we all know it's not Lestat's words it's scripted, but he is also clearly not well on that stage. So....
Sitting in the best box in the theatre, with the best view, with a guard by the door, we have our master of puppets. Passing judgment, choosing punishments. Sentencing to death and sparing life. Speaking with the voice of others.
Death. Death. Banishment.

iwtv is insanity inducing bc every time you google some reference in it you find out theyre doing some 4d chess with the symbolism… like okay playing roosevelt's speech about the us joining ww2 in the background as claudia tells louis shes gonna kill lestat is pretty straightforward, and of course the chess game theyre playing foreshadows how she beats him in the next episode but doesn't "finish the game" ie burn him. and bc claudia later compares lestat to the nazis/hitler, that obviously makes lestat germany and thus claudia is poland and louis is the us/roosevelt in the speech we hear: "I had hoped against hope that some miracle would prevent a devastating war in Europe and bring to an end the invasion of Poland by Germany" etc. BUT THEN you get nerdy and google some of the chess terms lestat uses like the dutch defense and stonewalling which is pretty interesting and then you vaguely remember one of the writers said the scene was based on some famous chess game, and you realize it must be glücksberg vs miguel najdorf which turns out to be literally called the POLISH IMMORTAL. najdorf was polish and glücksberg is some unknown but based on the name likely german. this was najdorf's first famous game, at the beginning of his career when he was only like 19 or something although we dont know the exact details of the game (and ofc you watch a few videos on the polish immortal and they all heavily criticize glücksberg's moves which makes lestat's arrogance even funnier) and ALSO, in 1939 (literally at the same time as the chess scene takes place) najdorf was participating in a chess tournament in buenos aires and since he was not only polish but also jewish, he stayed there rather than return home. his whole family was killed in the holocaust but he lived a long life in argentina. why is this relevant? because BUENOS AIRES which btw lestat also calls "la reina del plata" so you google that and find the 1930 song by carlos gardel and the lyrics are literally— anyway so buenos aires is where lestat planned for them to move to in ep7. perhaps if they had indeed gone to argentina instead of europe… well… perhaps… perhaps…
