ancient times: i havent really watched a lot of movies/series set in ancient times so far :(

rome HBO (2005-2007) (tv series) - OF COURSE. i personally think its one of the best series ever made. they combine political, miliatry history with the lives of every day people in an incredible way. they never let you once engage with the series through modern lenses. according to my teacher (a historian, archeologist & self described 'romaphile') its incredibly historically accurate, mostly the clothing, set designs, characterization, military practices, etc. except for the things they straight up made up, of course.

i really enjoyed gladiator (2000), i think its a masterpiece.

prince of egypt (1998) i guess?

all the asterix movies of course, all the animated ones and most of the live actions. but i wouldnt really call it historical fiction

ok i havent actually finished watching it for now but sebastiane (1976) - an erotic, x rated, gay interpretation of the martyrdom of st sebastian. its in latin also.

wait i cant believe i forgor about assassin's creed odyssey - so far the only one ive played. its so fun and incredibly immersive visually. especially pour moi who cries into the pillow about how ill never experience the ancient world. also you can b a faggot which is always fun. i have things to say about their portrayal of same-sex sexuality and slavery in classical greece but i get why they did that considering its supposed to like. appeal to a lot of people, and a more "historically accurate" portrayal (for example of pederasty or how common slavery was etc.) would b v difficult for a lot of their target audience. alas.

medieval and early modern era:

the name of the rose (1986) - my medieval history teacher literally showed us bits of this movie to teach us about monasteries and monks fhdosiasdjasd.

the borgias (2011-2013) - incredibly messy, lots of political intrigue, and so so fun to watch. about the history of the borgia family. filled to the brim with drama.

the three musketeers (1993) - my favorite adaptation, also coincidentally the one i grew up on. casting tim curry as richelieu was genius. he slays so hard.

i also like bbc's the musketeers (2014-2016) - a neat little series. very fun and entertaining to watch.

outlaw king (2018) - like i dont think most ppl heard of this movie. its about robert the bruce's fight to reclaim the throne of scotland. starring chris pine

vikings (2013-2020) - its fun. i havent watched the entire series tho. dont expect anything resembling historical accuracy

the northman (2022) - you will see something resembling historical accuracy

mihai viteazul (michael the brave) (1971) - a fun movie. very much romanian propaganda tho.

1670 (2023-) - such a fun series!!! incredible cast, shows respect to the actual history and the lives of historical people. really cute and funny.

caravaggio (1986) - a biopic about caravaggio.

wait i also forgor about pentiment - an intriguing, immersive, and incredibly beautiful video game! it has a lot of 'the name of the rose' vibes, with it being a medieval murder mystery taking place in a monastery. its incredibly touching and made me cry, and in the last few years i very rarely cry. also im 99% sure its an indie game? go support the creators!

vaguely-medieval/early modern fantasy:

mirror mirror (2012) - a retelling of snow white. a very fun movie imo, with incredible costume design. julia roberts plays the evil queen and she SLAYS. armie hammer is unfortunately in that movie.

stardust (2007) - one of my fave movies growing up. more modern-inspired but still.

the green knight (2021) - controversial i know but i actually loved this movie! i liked it both as a standalone movie but moreso as a 21st century adaptation to sir gawain and the green knight.

galavant (2015-2016) - !!!!!!! one of the most series ever! they manage to tackle such difficult concepts and conversations with a hilarious wit. so fun to watch. i listen to a lot of the songs still, and rewatch every once in a while.

disenchantment (2018-2023) - very fun to watch, especially the first season.

i also really liked the novel uprooted by naomi novik. its a polish-inspired fantasy.

modern era:

killers of the flower moon (2023) - of course. a masterpiece

aferim! (2015) - a romanian movie set in 19th century wallachia, about two officers, a father and son, who were sent by a nobleman to retrieve an escaped enslaved romani man. a lot of the people in the comments were calling the movie humorous and funny, maybe im missing smth (as im watching with subtitles n dont understand the original language) but it was a very difficult watch for me??

the handmaiden (2016) - need i say more

black sails (2014-2017) - a prequel to the famous novel 'treasure island'. not an easy series to watch. incredibly good.

the favourite (2018) - need i say more pt 2

the rabbi's cat (le chat du rabbin) (2011) - animated movie set in early 20th century algeria. a rabbi's cat learns to talk overnight.

the nice guys (2016) - a fun murder mystery set in the 1970s

o brother, where art thou (2000) - a retelling of the odyssey set in the southern us in the 1930s

victor/victoria (1982) - set in early 20th century paris. julie andrews pretends to be a man and takes on a job as a drag queen. extremely fun, extremely gay movie.

lady chatterley's lover (2022) - very much porn for moms but it was a nice watch imo

amulet (2020) - set in like. idk. sometime in the 20th century. this is a horror movie, deals a lot with misogyny, sa, and so on. i really like it, personally. a lot of people, mostly weird men, dont tho.

the great (2020-2023) - i have mixed feelings about this show. on the one hand, its really fun to watch. on the other hand, its basically ofmd for girls who have public mental breakdowns whenever someone claims corsets were oppressive. and theyre so weird about russians, jesus christ.

disses:

domina (2021-) - i just couldnt get into it, esp since i tried right after finishing rome hbo. it was kind of silly, and not in a good way. takes itself wayyyy to seriously.

i didnt like spartacus (2010-2013) - the dialogue was almost grotesque and the editing, especially the transitions, straight up killed me

damsel (2024) - holy fuck what a trainwreck of a movie. absolute waste of angela basset and robin wright. the only good thing were the costumes.

lancelot du lac (1974) - i just didnt like it at all. couldnt get into it. i guess it was way too french and artsy fartsy for me. a movie that was trying to say both too little and too much at the same time.

i didnt rly like bram stoker's dracula (1992) - i mean. it was a fine movie. it was definitely not the godfather. the movie itself was meh. the visuals tho? absolutely stunning

this is very hard. at first i thought it was bc there were so many to choose from but when you narrow them down it's a pretty short list of bangers. the problem is the short list is extremely good. here is my best attempt at what ive read so far

like, obviously, you have to put this one up really high. its The Fight of All Time. it has everything:

a dramatic character death that is NOT in vein......rip to kakyoin the sickest little boy in all of egypt

the apparent death of beloved bastard joseph joestar, in which he gives the longest dying speech since hamlet that sounds like "jotaro! press the A button to punch dio really fast and reffill your meter!" only to be returned to full health at the end so he can do the single greatest prank of all time.

jotaro finally says something so cool it makes you want to stand up and scream for him in sheer rapturous joy

polnareff gets a good hit in.

dio becoming subject to the exact same torment that he inflicts upon others right before a death that definitively underscores that he is lesser than he knew himself to be is perfection. honestly an incredible end to one of the greatest villains of all time. it feels very, very earned and satisfying

killer queen: bite ze dusto vs. the entirety of the town of morioh

example: yoshikage kira traumadumps about getting a boner to a stranger

i actually think this one is my absolute favorite of them all. the communal effort to take out yoshikage kira is a monumental undertaking; he is an absolute bastard with a seemingly endless string of luck. living members of the community who have good hearts, his victims who have been waiting for justice, strangers from far away dedicated to righting wrongs, and a completely powerless 10 year old powered entirely by the raw energy of a child's pure conscience band together to end a literal cycle of violence. how the fuck do you defeat a man who has already killed you and you don't even know it?? how do you stop someone who can turn back time?? it truly fucking seems like hes going to get away with it at the end. and then AGAIN you're like "oh no oh my god hes going to-" and then the single greatest villain death in the history of manga happens lol. ohhhhh its so fucking good.

its another battle thats made all the better by the sum of its parts. the entire yoshikage kira arc is near perfection. the set ups, pay offs, and who it chooses to celebrate as the heroes in the end creates a very satisfying cap to a great series.

osiris vs the stardust crusaders

example: jotaro loses a hand, and increases his bet

i love the stand fights that barely end up being stand fights. star platinum throws i think a single punch in this fight and its to light jotaro's cigarette, a mere taste of the sheer, near impossible speed of star platinum. how fast IS star platinum anyway....would you.....bet your life on it...??!!!!

a friend online told me about the "jotaro has autism" fan theory, and i was like "hm. whatever" until this episode, when i fully 100% believe that jotaro not only has autism but has figured out how to hone and weaponize it against his enemies. all these morons have to do is win a game of chance against a professional gambler who also openly cheats. i love this shit. this is the part of the story where jotaro really, really starts to shine and his unique strengths as a little badass piece of shit start to come through. i think he really starts to solidify his personality here when he finally gets a win that isnt based on "punch something really fast".

oingo and boingo/hol horse and boingo vs themselves

example: hol horse, noted woman respecter, does a flying jump kick on a random rich woman and she's so grateful she pays him in jewels

im counting these as one because i can and i want to. these episodes are fucking tops. easily top 5 eps of the entirety of stardust crusaders. i dont think anyone involved in the anti-dio squad had any idea oingo or boingo existed. bringing back that stupid asshole hol horse is literally always going to be appreciated as he's one of the best recurring villains even though his stand fucking sucks lmfao. boingo's too actually. his stand is he has a book but the book is an asshole. great goofy shit. what is fucking wrong with polnareff and joseph

da morioh boyz vs rohan kishibe

example: rohan makes every comic artist in the world mad

speaking of "whats wrong with him", ive posted a lot about rohan so i'll spare you it again but it's all highlighted best in his first ep. the one where he eats a spider, tears a child's face off for artistic inspiration, and tells another he has a whack ass haircut.

jotaro vs literally two rats: the man who defeated dio and all of his minions almost gets completely smoked by jerry the mouse of tom and jerry fame.

koichi hirose vs yoshikage kira: aka the sheer heart attack fight. clever solution, funny jotaro moments, explosions, koichi levels up, THREE FREEZE, etc

joseph joestar and avdol vs bastet: a rare comedy stand where the joke is good. mariah is a fun antagonist. its also a rare pair up that turned out to be a lot of fun. they play off each other well (badly)

yoshikage kira vs stray cat: foil ep to jotaro's rat episode. weird perspective, fun to see kira play the hero briefly.

team bucciarati vs pesci and prosciutto: aka fighting old lol. the twist on how araki keeps prosciutto's power going while making him inaccessible is twisted. beach boy is also a skin crawling stand. very dangerous boys.

omg great question!! it’s set during towards the light tour for sure, though i tried not to over reference real things so that it can be read in a more relaxed way where you don’t HAVE to know tour details to get it.

that being said, i’m taking some liberties on tour stops / dates / order of cities just for plot ease. i want them on tour for quite a while, so beginning in berlin and hitting several cities (whether they’re actually visiting there on TTL tour irl) and ending in paris (spoilers oops) is all changed to move the plot in the way i want it to go.

if you want to picture the exact yunho i’m writing though? it’s dark hair, towards the light tour, and in the first chapter when they’re going on stage it’s the all black fits with the like silver detailed jackets 😌

Lua and Luca would make handmade father's day cards for Yusei, and it is so precious.

Lua's card has a drawing of him and Yusei, along with powertool and stardust dragon. Lua drew Yusei smiling because that's just how he wanted to depict Yusei. Lua also wanted to write a thoughtful message, but words were really failing him in how he could ever truly thank Yusei for everything he's done for him since they met. Lua just idolizes Yusei and sees him as a father figure. Lua writes a simple "Thank you everything, Yusei. You're my favorite person aside from Luca and you're so cool and brave. I want to duel you so many more times and show you how strong ive gotten with powertool!!!!"

When Yusei reads the card, he bows his head to hide his smile. He is so grateful to have a good kid around to look after. Yusei keeps the card safe and has it on display at home on his desk so he can always see the cool drawing.

Luca's card also has a drawing, but instead of it just being her and Yusei, she also made sure to include Lua. So its the twins on either side and Yusei in the middle and they're holding hands and smiling. Luca tells Yusei how much she and Lua have thought of him as family and she's so grateful for everything he's done for them and others, he is a true hero and he deserves lots of happiness. Luca writes a simple "Thank you for everything, Yusei! Me and Lua love you so much! You've really been the kind of father figure me and Lua have needed with our parents away so much."

Yusei also keeps the card on display next to Lua's, and he makes sure to kneel down and give both twins a very big hug and says his thanks. Yusei has no idea what to say to express his gratitude, so he decides to take Lua up on his offer to duel and then they go out and get some desserts.

Yusei is a true dad <3

ive read and watched it its a really cool manga :thumbsup: its funny where it needs to be and serious in other places, plus the artstyle/character design is really unique (which is where most of its hate stems from) my favorite characters are probably rohan, joseph and kira rohan cuz hes just him and joseph because hes the funniest guy ever to exist ever in the history of humor the reason i like kira is. cuz hes really weird and evil and disgusting but hes just a really cool concept and he looks like david bowie

i love his entire season/arc/part (diamond is unbreakable) cuz im a big fan of slice of life. and jojo is really big men fighting most of the time so for the season he appears in to be fighting but in a slice of life/detective drama type style was SUPER COOL and!! im rambling!! and off topic!! anyway i just mean he as a character is amazing and (these rlly arent spoilers? cuz its kinda the main thing) like that season really revolves around finding out who the small town serial killer is but with big punchy monsters an d i . really like it

UM character i dislike is... .. i dont really have one, usually you meet the character hate them, and then love them actually no i HATE this one character j geil he was there for like one episode during stardust crusaders (part 3-- it was formatted in a way of fighting a new bad guy each episode to creep closer to fighting the ult bad guy of the season. for this part i cant say who the antag is cuz its major spoilers if u havent watched/read it yet) and hes just a disgusting guy no spoilers but bottom of the barrel no good traits that one

the artstyle is really cool to me cuz its unique and it fits for what it is its definitely changed a whole lot aswell

my favorite stage of how the manga looked was part 5 but for anime it was part 4 cause araki really went wild with the coloring like in this scene for example its like

wow they really did that just cause they could like they really had no reason to but they just did and thats really why ill always love it

plus any show that can pull off a scene where the main good guys dance whilst setting a mans eyes on fire using a magnifying glass and the sun whilst listening to funky pop music

is a pretty good show to me :thumbsup:

tl;dr: jojo's bizarre adventure is. bizarre. but thats what makes it what it is the art, the scenes the ideas and abilities are all so absurd and thats super cool :grin:

The console chirps. The blinking lights the room dimly, but neither the noise nor the glow is enough to wake the dozing man sitting tipped back in his chair, mouth slightly open and drool leaking down the side of his face.

The console chirps again, louder, but still the man doesn't stir. After the third chirp the system automatically patches the call through. Another man appears on one of the console's screens, a large, big boned man, bald, with a metal plate taking up part of his head leading down half his face to a large mechanical glowing red eye on his left side.

"Pontikonisi, this is the S. S. Minnow. You're in our missile envelope and our scans show you have no offensive or defensive armaments - kill your engines and prepare for boarding."

The man snorts awake at the unfamiliar voice, sitting up suddenly and slapping a hand on the console. He wipes at his face and stares bleary eyed at the screen. For a moment that's all he does as the message loops.

Was this a show or....?

The message changes, the big man on the screen's mechanical eye constricts - based on his expression in displeasure - and he leans foward, hands going off screen to support his weight on his own console. "Pontikonisi, you have one minute to comply or respond before we open fire."

Alfie blinks at the screen. Pontikonisi was the name of their ship... Hesitantly he reaches out to press the sequence of buttons that would establish a connection with someone who wanted to communicate with them. The console did indeed beep its conformation moments later, and the red eye widdens a little from its glare. "Uhhh-" What was he supposed to say? They were far from Earth both in distance and time, they weren't supposed to run into anyone. Communication wasn't in the guide book. "S. S. Minnow? This is Al- the Pontikonisi. I-"

Luckily- or unluckily as it were - the man - pirate? were there really such things as space pirates? - interrupts. "Kill your engines or I will kill them for you."

If this were some sort of highwayman situation - and what were the odds of even running into someone? Space was *big* - it had to be a misunderstanding. "Look uh there's nothing - I mean we're a colony ship, we don't have amything valuable aboard."

Suddenly alarms start going off with flashing lights and Alfie looks around himself in shock. What the hell was wrong, this had never happened -

"That was a warning shot - the next one goes through your engines." The pirate's deep voice cut surpisingly well through the noise as Alfie pressed acknowledgement buttons and read the status notifications with a growing sense of dread. The force of an explosion had set off the sensers on the bow of the ship. "I uh yes - I'll do it- just let me - they don't exactly cover that in training just let me read the manual and get back to you?" He asks more than states, voice trailing off weakly.

"Manual? Are you telling me no one aboard knows how to turn off your engines?" The man's voice is heavy with disbelief.

"Well they cover turning them back on - but aside from the emergency shut off... oh I can probably just do that, let me..." He keys in a sequence of commands and the minuet vibration that had haunted all his days dies, and with it so do the lights. After a moment the lights come back on as the back up generators kick on and Alfie gives a pained smile to the screen. "There?"

The man stares at him long and hard. "Prepare to be boarded. Any resistance will be met with lethal force."

They massively helped throughout many things on the story mode and helped me get 3 stars on hard stuff i redid

Red velvet helps with enemies at the back and takes hits like a boss ive topped him with 3 swkft chocos and 2 searing raspberries iirc

Stardust cookie helps chip away at the enemies health with his ability(i dont think i have a topping build for him yet-)

Espresso helps with keeping the enemies back a bit i have all searing raspberry build for him

Rye helps with the same as espresso does(tho she is less stronger eith the same build as espresso but she does still help in tower of sweet chaos which ive used milk a lot recently on ToSC and hes really well there)

Licorices minions help deal extra damage and take a few hits he has a searing raspberry build with 1 swift choco

Take this with a grain of salt cause i havent done the golden cheese stuff yet but have used these cookies for hard stuff in the past i would try expirimenting with the toppings a bit though

Legit I'm fine and breezing through the normal levels it's just that M Cursor is a random difficulty spike out of nowhere and forced me to actually Play The Game dnsksmdmmsmsmsmsms

like my team for that boss fight specifically ended up being Fettuccine (who just absolutely does not die) Golden Cheese (The Big Cheese also she was like my main shield-breaker 'cus multi-hit attack vs. hit shield) Shining Glitter (pretty sure she just makes you Not Die right? Something about increasing HP, I need to read her skill description again, anyway she ended up being the main reason I didn't get completely fxcking obliterated because M Cursor just kinda Kills You. A Lot) Sorbet Shark (+ magic candy. Does good damage, idk how exactly it works on a technical level) and Snapdragon (healer that wouldn't get fxcking stunlocked/silencelocked/whateverthefxcklocked seriously like. Apparently Snap's like the only healer in the game immune to that I think someone said??? And that was like VITAL to this even if their healing wasn't like Pure Vanilla's or anything)

like idk I'm not exactly a mechanics expert I just know that this time was vital to Not Sucking so. Yeah.

(The Big Cheese and Fettuccine were also helped by max hall of encounter buffs because. Yeah I put the time into that-)

Idk if anyone wants I can post my exact team and treasures so they can copy off of me or something because dear god I looked at so many things to find a good team for this when I realized this wasn't gonna be brainless- like good for being an actual video game but like Jesus did you have to make it THIS tough-

hello enderwalk arg people

so i saw a cool thread from @/ranbeans on twitter and it inspired me. so naturally i spent five hours straight analyzing ranboo’s lore playlist

basically i think it’s a timeline of c!ranboo’s life, and it fits kind of eerily

everything’s below the cut (and it’s a lot) :]

prologue from starkid 

 - more clock references. it’s literally just an instrumental of a clock ticking

 - instantly you think of the ender text in that pic he tweeted. like that, this could relate to dream’s clock, or foolish’s clock (reading 10:33 always iirc) 

 - note that butler in tales from the smp: masquerade kept staring at a clock

 - it could also mean a theme of running out of time, or fighting with time

 - in the thread i linked, the person also points out that there are 23 clock ticks in prologue, and angel number 23 means that you are meant to be a servant

 - this would be his beginning

introduction to the snow by miracle musical

 - the first of many songs from the hawaii: part ii album on this playlist

 - i’ve seen that album described as an arg and i find it funny if ranboo just went no. my arg now 

 - introduction to the snow only has one verse, and the rest is instrumental

 - the whole hawaii album has themes of loneliness and death, especially loneliness for this song

 - it talks about feeling isolated, which gives hints about his childhood maybe?

 - the “you’ll live forever tonight” lyric also gives off a hopeful vibe, like that of a child

dream sweet in sea major by miracle musical

 - starts with a changed reprise of introduction to the snow

 - "Rather than trying to “live forever”, it seems that the time has come for something else" from the analysis of the first part in genius

 - odd because this song is meant as a finale to the album, but it's towards the beginning of the playlist (could mean that there was almost an ending of sorts early on for c!ranboo, like a near death experience?)

 - okay this one confused me when i was first going through, but when the timeline started coming together it made more sense

 - about adolescence, and being uncomfortable with growing up, so it fits with the timeline playlist theory 

 - also about phobias and stuff like that in a way?? hm

 - the song starts out in reverse, then plays the stuff from the beginning normally

 - feels like a rls honestly i wish he could use this song

 - it's about someone put in an infirmary and condemned to electroshock therapy because they're insane. fun

 - this is where the timeline started to come together in a way. as soon as i saw the mood get darker i remembered ranboo’s line from the festival i think? “don’t let it happen again” or something like that

 - because of this, if the timeline theory is true, at some point before he joined the dream smp he did something which caused him to be condemned

 - also this

 - the mind electric isn’t the only song where the narrator glorifies themself in a way, we’ll get into this later

 - also the rejecting fanatical views,, i am thinking about that theory that endermen are servants to the ender dragon. if c!ranboo rejected that, the consequences could have been awful

 - if i wasn’t sold on the timeline theory before, i am now. after the mind electric, the mood changes drastically in terms of ideology and theme

 - this specifically made me say “holy shit” because like. that verse means that when you’re young, you’re open minded and say “live and let live” which resembles the optimistic but lonely attitude of the beginning of the playlist

 - but then when the world fucks you over, you begin to say “live and let die.”

 - “live and let die” i take to mean as him no longer caring about the people around him. how before, he wanted to help others, but then the mind electric happened, and he just. stopped caring

 - fun right!! /s

 - there are so many clock and time references in this. we get it

 - "mechanical hands" when it says “mechanical hands are the ruler of everything” refer to hands on a clock, saying how time rules over everything

 - the narrator is talking back and forth with time itself in this, which is interesting because i believe he joins the dream smp in the next song

 - the narrator appears very insecure and looking for a quick way to appeal to everyone (like how c!ranboo at the beginning was trying to be everyone's friend)

 - this is the second song with the narrator glorifying themself out of insecurity. what are you trying to tell us about your character buddy

 - also we can’t ignore this shit

 -  i don’t need to explain why this scared me right. right

merry go round of life from howl’s moving castle

 - this is a change huh

 - god i haven’t seen this movie in years, but i saw looking it up that it plays at the beginning introducing the main character, sophie

 - this is before everything changed for her

 - maybe this is when he joins dream smp? and ruler of everything is him talking to dream prior?

 - or maybe im reaching who the fuck knows

 - but him joining dream smp to this song would make sense. it feels like a clean slate and starting over, which would match with how he doesn’t. y’know. remember things

 - which begs the question: if ranboo forgot everything from before this song in the timeline, and after that i’m assuming his memory issues started,, what happened to cause this?

 - i’d say the mind electric could have caused this, but it was awhile back in the playlist. so whoever he’s talking to in ruler of everything, which could very well be dream, i believe messed with his memory somehow.

 - c!ranboo girlboss arc canon??

 - i got lost here ngl. it has a very specific vibe that doesn’t match well with what i know of c!ranboo im sorry

 - but two songs later, i get a hint kind of which makes me believe this could be him burning george’s house with tommy

 - also this song is a banger and i’m pretty sure he put it on there to scare the crown arg people because of the “baroness” line /j

mr. bad guy by freddie mercury

 - literally just more funky villain vibes. i love this

 - no more angst only girlboss

 - since cc!ranboo has said he doesn't want to do a villain arc, i take this to maybe be how he sees himself?? credit to the crown arg discord for that idea they’re smart and cool

 - if that is true, i’d say this would be another song for the “glorifying oneself out of insecurity” list because the narrator is like. seeing himself as cool and The Bad Guy, even if he might not be

 - possibly the butcher army if the next song is what i think it is

ain’t no rest for the wicked by cage the elephant

 - i have been informed someone saw ranboo listening to and grabbing songs for this off of a playlist called "my villain arc" king i hate you /lh

 - in seriousness: the song is about how the world forces people into wicked roles for money. i am getting live and let die vibes, like how both blame the world for making them not care/do bad things

 - c!ranboo take responsibility for your actions challenge /j

 - this definitely reminds me of how when he gave techno his armor, he blamed it on peer pressure. if this aligns with that event, the last two would be burning george’s house and butcher army i think

 - this is pure speculation at this point, but maybe it’s like. him fighting against time in a way, which would draw back to ruler of everything

 - the song is about not wanting to take responsibility for their actions again

 - c!ranboo i am begging

 -  specifically this lyric

 - also this lyric draws back to the bidding, in which the singer wanted to be enough for someone and showed almost narcissism as a sort of "mask"

 - also just. mask can be correlated with dream or the masquerade, where the butler stared at the clocks

 - been awhile since we had a hawaii album song huh

 - and,, a memory reference.

 - that lyric is talking about forgetting things

 - the rest of the song is,, im not saying time traveler ranboo but time traveler ranboo (look at this post about that theory by my friend pspspspsp)

 - he's talking to a "you" this whole time, and i have no idea who it is lmao

 - there are mentions of dreams and stuff throughout, so i almost want to associate it with the prison visit, but then i think the next song is after the festival so i guess not?

 - might also be him losing the memory book

 - this is, lyrics wise, a song about a man whose girlfriend left him for someone else and he's upset

 - but if you look at the music video, it shows a cruise ship, on which people are friendly with each other at first, but when it starts to sink, they turn on each other trying to escape

 - i am feeling a connection to c!ranboo's views on "choose people not sides" somehow

 - i feel like he's called people selfish in lore, but my friends and i are all ranboo kinnies so we cant fuckin remember. if he has, then yeaH this definitely correlates

 - this one’s barely annotated on genius so i don’t have a lot for it, but i feel like it's after the dream voice disappeared or something? timeline's gettin a little funky

 - and that definitely ties back to how ranboo wanted l’manburg people, like tubbo, to see from techno’s perspective

 - i feel like this is right after the festival. it resembles a lot of ranboo's speech from then, where he basically told everyone “sides dumb. just vibe”

 - and then the outro changes tone, almost like a warning?? which. yeah. a warning to choose people not sides before doomsday, or else they won’t be able to stop l’manburg from being blown up

 - sounds familiar!! looks directly at dream voice

 - specifically, the singer is optimistic about winning their fight with the inner demons

 - it seems kind of chilling to me though, but it's also late at night when i’m doing these notes so it may just be me

 - if the timeline theory is true, this is where c!ranboo is mentally atm, which tracks honestly

tl;dr: ranboo’s songs that he would use for lore playlist might very well be a timeline of c!ranboo’s life, from even before dream smp and that’d be super cool
