Chapters: 1/1 Fandom: Šehhinah - Ivana Skye Rating: Mature Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: Tamar/Original Male Character, Tamar/God, Tamar/Elīya (implied) Characters: Elohim | God | Allah (Abrahamic Religions), Tamar (Šehhinah) Additional Tags: eldritch sex shenanigans, eldritch g-d, Judaism, Sex Work, Body Horror, i guess dot jpg, Ableism, Mind Sex, Theurgy (Šehhinah), Holies (Šehhinah), author is just letting their jewishness and psychosis flower as wildly as possible lol, Blind Character Summary: shortly after running away and staring at the soul of G-d and getting her eyes burned out forever, Tamar has a prostitution encounter with an ad-hoc client on the street. -
THIS WAS REALLY FUN to AO3-ify especially deciding on just dumping it in the ‘actual G-d’ tag instead of making another tag for a specific work’s take on god lol. there are no other works i can see in the šehhinah tag yet (though the tag seems to exist, which is....interesting! are there perhaps private works?)

The Size of the World by Ivana Skye
There are seven Seas, and Theia will cross them all. There is the Darkness beyond the Seventh Sea, and Theia will reach it. But, in the Second Land, there is also Tellus. And soon Tellus is not only offering her skills as a guide to Theia, but following her out of her city … and kissing her.
Now this journey belongs to both of them. And soon they may belong to each other.

Celyet from The Birds That Fly At Dusk. As a neurodivergent person, I had SO many feelings about this character???? Like we’re not so much alike in personality, but I related so well to her anxiety and struggles to communicate and deep fear of being misunderstood. Ugh this series makes me feel seen. ANYWAy Sehhinah is Good.

Is the Šehhinah thing good? I saw nice stuff about it before but passed on it because I was really sick of fantasy spins on Lucifer.
(I saved this ask until i actually finished the book.)
I mean if you don’t like fantasy Lucifer don’t read it? It’s not your kind of genre? I will say it’s super original and i loved it, Lucifer is really cool, the characters are great (and diverse), God, angels/demons and the magic system are really cool, and it has a super interesting sci-fi/Solarpunk setting. It’s also very queer, non-white, and more Jewish/Islamic than Christian. If you’re curious give it a try to know what we’re talking about, it’s not that long. ;-)
