DAZED
Favourite title track
Yeji: We can’t choose
Lia: All the members have different picks.
‘Imaginary Friend’ has a style that we haven’t tried before, and ‘Gold’ is a song where we can show a lot of energy, performance-wise. It was really hard to drop one and pick another. Since ITZY is all about showing different sides, we thought it would be nice to include them all.
Lia return to group
Lia: At first, while preparing the album and being back on schedule, I was kind of nervous. But then, as soon as I got into [it] with our members, I realised how comfortable I am. It didn’t really take much time to get used to it again. I really missed our members and our [fans], MIDZYs. I’m very happy that I could be here, included in this comeback.
"Five"
Yeji: Shows our bond from the first meeting to the present, the process and feelings, so I think it’s really special.
"Vay" (ft. Changbin of Stray Kids)
Ryujin: I was really happy to get this song from him, because he said that he wrote it just for us. Since he knows us, what we can do best and what are each member’s [strongest] points, it was very comfortable and also very fun to record with him.
Yeji: He said that it was much better than the recording guide.
Album concept video
Lia: I think it somehow relates to all of us. We didn’t intentionally pick the characters, but it turned out that [they were] very relatable, so it was easy to get into the character and express it out.
Changes what members went through
Yeji: I thought I was closer to the members from the beginning, but as time goes by, I feel that we can get closer than this. I think what’s different is that we cherish each other more.
Ryujin: Better and faster on stage, recording the songs, and memorising the choreographies.
Loving yourself is acceptance
Lia: Everyone is different, and realising and accepting [that] leads to loving yourself for just who you are. At the same time, you [learn] to respect other people [because they] are different too.
Respect
Ryujin: I learned that people are all different while doing team things. So, I learned how to respect others and how to cooperate with someone you don’t really match.
We mostly vote. We don’t want to argue with each other and get in a bad mood.
Ups and downs
Chaeryeong: Things never go as expected. I have to think in many different directions, and practise more and more to be prepared.
New Era
Chaeryeong: I wish that our music will always give people strength and energy, this has never changed. I wish our hard work and health will never change too.
Yuna: I wish I will never lose hope, and to keep moving forward with hope.
Time
Yeji sees time as "a precious thing", and she hopes that every moment spent with members and fans “will always be meaningful”.
Lia: Our members have very different charms and different styles, but at the same time, together as a team, we go along very well. I want them to see us as a whole package.”

K-Pop Spotlight: ITZY
Their sneakers are laced up and ITZY is ready to take on the world in the only way they know how: as no one else but themselves. This week, we’re celebrating the five-member girl group and the release of their new mini-album CHECKMATE. We caught up with ITZY to talk about their favorite footwear, their upcoming world tour, and the soundtrack of their lives. Check out our full interview below!
How does the sound and concept of CHECKMATE differ from your previous comebacks?
RYUJIN: I think there are definitely more dynamic songs in this album, so I don't think you can feel bored at all when you listen to our album all the time.
LIA: The concept of the album is brighter and more active than before, so there are more various melody lines and energetic shouting parts!
Outside of music, what are you most passionate about? Are there any hobbies you use to de-stress?
YEJI: I feel responsible for everything I'm given and work hard to produce perfect results, but I still want to grow more musically, so I think I'm putting all my passion into music! I get stressed when I'm not doing well in the process, but the pleasure of getting good results makes me feel really good.
YUNA: In addition to music, I have a passion for fashion, beauty, and food! I also go for a walk to relieve stress.
So, your new single is called “SNEAKERS,” but what’s your preferred choice of footwear? What would you choose if you could only wear one type of shoe for the rest of your life?
CHAERYEONG: All white sneakers for both! I think they really go well with all kinds of clothes! Also it’s my favorite.
LIA: Basic black sneakers! They are comfy because they fit well with my feet. They are good matches for all kinds of clothes!
What’s your favorite lyric from your discography and why?
YEJI: “I wanna be me”—this is the part that I like. “WANNABE” is the cool image of myself that I've imagined. When I imagine myself becoming the person that I want to be, it motivates me to work harder and makes me grow more.
YUNA: I like “WANNABE” and “DALLA DALLA”~ Because the lyrics talk about living my own life, not others.
RYUJIN: My favorite song is one of our b-side songs called “Don’t Give A What” and my favorite part from this song is the way that we shouted “don’t give a what!”
Congrats on your upcoming tour! What are you most looking forward to and can we expect any special stages?
CHAERYEONG: Thank you! First of all, I'm so happy and excited to meet MIDZY face-to-face. As for the special stage, we're working hard on it! I think there will be a chance to see each member's charms in detail.
LIA: I’m very excited because it is the first concert that we’ve been waiting for and we are preparing it while thinking of the overseas fans that we could not go and see for a long time.
Pick 3 non-ITZY songs to make up the soundtrack of your life so far.
CHAERYEONG: “Into the New World” by Girls’ Generation. I fell in love with K-pop with this song. They made my childhood happy. BOL4′s “To My Youth.” When I had a hard time, the song comforted me a lot.
YUNA: YB’s “A Flying Butterfly,” BLACKPINK’s “Pretty Savage,” and IU’s “The Red Shoes.”
Lightning round! Describe each of the following in one word: Who you are, what you value the most, and what you’d be if you were a plant or animal.
CHAERYEONG: My name is Chaeryeong Lee. I cherish my people the most! If I were a flower, I wish I were a rose! Because It’s pretty but it can protect myself by having thorns! If it were an animal, I think it would be a cat! This is because I like to be alone but also like to be with people, and I don't like to go outside.
YEJI: I am HWANG YEJI. I am a person that cherishes and loves everything I love. If I’m not a human, I would be a rose!
YUNA: This is YUNA. I cherish my beloved family and our members! If I were a plant, I would be a tulip. And if I were an animal, I would be a rabbit.
RYUJIN: If I were a plant, I would be a daisy and if I were an animal, I think I would love to be a cat. Because they are what I like.
LIA: I am just an ordinary person that cherishes the relationship between person and person. If I were a plant, I would be a sunflower. If I were an animal, I think I would be a sloth.

background
! this has been revamped !
masterlist | wattpad
Tumblr media
ETHNICITY & NATIONALITY: south korean
TRAINING PERIOD: YG entertainment (three years, three months), be:lift labs (five months)
LANGUAGES: english (fluent), korean (native), japanese (conversational & learning)
SEXUALITY: omnisexual, male preferred
HABITS: 'glaring' (courtesy of her resting bitch face), daydreaming, running her hand through her hair, biting and picking her lips, fiddling with her necklace, playing with the members' hair/hands, unlady-like sitting, talking in konglish, people-pleasing tendencies
CHILDHOOD AND FAMILY:
born and raised in seoul to a fairly wealthy family
her sister was born seven years after her. she looks up to della so much and they're quite close
she has a good relationship with her parents. she wasn't raised too strictly, but she gives herself the pressure and fear of disappointing them
she was taught english as her first language and learned korean with no trouble as she grew up. now she's perfectly bilingual with a slight preference to english since she was always enrolled in international school
she used to do numerous extracurriculars as a kid, but the only one that really stuck to her was theatre and badminton. she eventually quit badminton to focus on theatre and dance (particularly hip hop), and ended up quitting both to become a trainee
if she wasn't an idol, she would either be a dancer in YGX or a badminton athlete
PERSONALITY:
most times, she's not shy, not her, itzaaaaay. she doesn't like too much attention but come on! if she was too shy or didn't want a bit of attention then she wouldn't be a public figure
a natural flirt. it's mostly meaningless and she has especially toned it down towards other men after being taken (fans don't count of course)
she's a major perfectionist and holds a high standard when it comes to the things she does
completely unbothered with hate and handles it the best, it almost never affects her. no one hates her more than she hates herself.
she seriously needs a filter sometimes, but that's what the fans (and her loved ones) love about her
a loud and outgoing introvert
so frugal. incredibly frugal to the point where she'll use her things until they fall apart
she's such a hopeless romantic. can be a little delusional but not in a detrimental way
doesn't get mad easily but won't take any shit when it comes to the people she loves
PHYSICALLY:
she is very flexible, she even has flexible fingers like jay
she eats a lot. not as much as the other members but still more than the average. most of her weight goes to her thighs and rear
della fits over 90% of the korean beauty standards
she works out a lot so she would look more fit rather than scrawny
she has no face claim as i would like to leave it up to readers. though she is described to look like a mix of itzy yeji and bp jennie (especially jennie)
AS AN IDOL:
her representative emoji is a polar bear (🐻‍❄️) because she is ice princess, and could either be cute and cuddly or fierce and deadly
despite being the only girl, she's one of the most biased members. she has a lot of both fanboys and fangirls
she is a fan of a lot of artists but there is a reason why she moved to belift after YG and really wanted to get into YG for her first company
she was mainly a vocalist but YG thought her voice suited rap so she was mostly trained to be a rapper. she loves both and wishes she could do them equally as an idol
her voice is a husky-deep type. considered one of the deepest among female idols but definitely not the deepest
she loves her job but her loved ones and her connection with fans are important to her too
TRIGGER WARNING (anxiety, emotional abuse, self harm):
she got diagnosed with generalised anxiety disorder and panic disorder mid 2022. she was also diagnosed with depression early 2023
even though she handles hate well, she can't handle the smallest signs of dislike or confrontation from the people she cares about. she'll start overthinking everything
she may look confident, but sometimes it really is just 'fake it 'til you make it'
because of her anxiety, she is a big J (MBTI) and constantly needs assurance or certainty
she had an emotionally abusive ex. they dated for a year and he broke up with her a week after she became a trainee. she turned to vigorously practicing and working out to distract herself
since he was her first boyfriend and proper love, the damage was really strong and made her extra anxious and self-conscious about everything
eight months into the relationship, she made one of the biggest mistakes of her life and tainted her thighs. she stopped only three months after the break up. her scars are still slightly visible within close inspection
fortunately, she got back up stronger than ever before. she was determined to succeed as an idol and her hard work led her to become YG's top female trainee
she hates talking too deeply about him. no one knew what exactly he did to her, and she only revealed it to another soul years later
Tumblr media
of course, we'll get to know her more as the story progresses

Jungwon tried to stop the way his heart raced faster anytime someone said they needed to talk to him. He searched his brain trying to look for a moment where he had upset you. Did you want to leave? Although you caused trouble a lot, you still helped him when orders got too much and he was grateful for that.
You had been out of it lately, zoning out and forgetting orders. You knew whatever Mirae had said about you wasn’t true in the slightest. You feared that if Jungwon knew, he would be like the rest and think of you in a different way.
Everyone else already had their fixed perception of you in their heads and who were you to ruin it for them? As long as you looked good in the image they had in their heads, it didn’t bother you. For Jungwon, it was different. Not only do you work for him, you already regarded him as your friend.
Jungwon closed the store and sat down next to you. Wiping his hands by the side of his trousers so they wouldnt feel sweatier, he cleared his throat.
“Something was going around on Twitter and I wanted to let you know before you got the wrong idea.”
“I haven’t had the time, let me check now,” he says and brings out his phone and scrolls. He comes across one of Mirae’s comments and turns to you with a confused look on his face.
“That’s what I was talking about,” you tell him with a strained smile.
"Why is she saying those things about you? Are they true?" the emotions on his face are unreadable so you're not able to tell what he's thinking.
"They're true and at the same time, it's not true"
"It can't be in the middle. It's either it’s true or it isn't true"
"That's why I wanted to tell you now. Are you willing to listen?"
"I'm here already, aren't I?" he asks. Seeing your crestfallen look, he tries to reassure you, "I'm willing to listen"
You take in a deep breath, thinking everything through again. You were about to expose one of your most painful memories to him so he wouldn't have the same misconception others had of you.
The air that surrounds both of you becomes tense. Your hands reaching over to hold the handle beside you before beginning the story.
“The people that you see around me now are the people that have been by my side for the past five years. You’ve had this shop for almost four years haven’t you?” he nods and you continue. “I studied law because of my parents. Back then, I had no aspirations and didn’t know what I wanted to be. All I knew was that I enjoyed working. My dad convinced me to study law and I agreed because it was better to do something like that than nothing at all. I had worked as a criminal lawyer for almost a year before I quit my job.”
“I met Yuna in university. She was the first person I talked to and we clicked ever since. At that time, Niki's parents kicked him out for not wanting to study engineering so he stayed with Sunghoon off-campus and worked many jobs and studied hard so he could attend that particular school. He got a scholarship and is studying animation now. He forgave his parents later and talks to them now”
“Jay studied business to work with his dad and he enjoys what he does because he can work from home. He enjoys what he does since he gets to work from home” the thought of your best friend enjoying his life made you smile.
“We all met each other at different times. Jay met Niki and Sunghoon at a convenience store and at that time, it was a friend of mine that introduced us all. The irony was that we’re no longer friends anymore” you stated with a bitter laugh.
“What happened between you guys?”
“At that time, I had a crush on him and everyone knew it. It’s not like it was obvious but I told him about it and he told me that he reciprocated them. Things went well at first, with Sunghoon and Niki faking disgust anytime we did cute things together or Jay and Yuna fawning over it. Then one day, I started getting texts from random people who would call me a homewrecker and when I’d ask them, they wouldnt respond. I told Jay about it and he tried contacting the girls that sent those messages himself but they wouldnt respond to him. I showed Heeseung and he brushed it off saying that they would leave me soon”
“Even though I tried not to show it, I hurt a lot from those messages. After a while, we swept them under the rug. I changed my number and they had stopped the messages. At that time, Heeseung still hadn’t asked me out. Anytime I asked him why he’d say, ‘I’m waiting for the perfect time to do so’. I let it slide. When I’d take the initiative, he’d say we should wait instead. He was messing with my feelings and I let him,” Tears were already welling up in your eyes and your hands started to itch. Gripping the handle of the chair even harder, you decide to continue talking.
“He would get pissed if I talked to other boys and say stupid stuff. Niki was the first one that noticed the way he was treating me and tried to talk sense into me but I wouldnt budge. Jay and Yuna knew because I told them how upset I was over it and tried to counsel Heeseung but nothing was working. I didn’t tell Sunghoon because he would get angry and want to retaliate”
“Heeseung later apologized and things went back to normal. It was nearing the end of that particular semester and Sunghoon took us out for drinks. At the restaurant, I could feel that people were watching me but I couldn’t tell who.”
“After that day, Heeseung took me to the movies to celebrate me getting my summer job but we didn’t even make it into the cinema before a girl came and started calling me names. I was very unsettled because I didn’t know her and yet she said those types of things and Heeseung didn’t bother to defend me. He stood there and when I tried to explain myself, she shouted at me even more. She didn’t shout at the boyfriend that cheated on her, instead of at the person that was unaware of it all. Believe me, if I knew he was in a relationship I would have not gone for him”
The tears that you were trying your best to control came down in full force. All that time when you and he would talk about how much you wanted to be part of each other’s future, he had a future with someone else all along. With a gentle touch, he lifted your hand from the chair and gave it a squeeze which made you cry harder.
“You don’t have to finish the story. I trust you” he said. More tears streamed down your face. It was the first time someone apart from your friends said that they had believed you and it felt satisfying. You didn’t have to continue hiding under your facade anymore. You gave him a soft smile and continued speaking.
“I called Yuna to pick me up and I stayed with her for a month. She told the boys what happened and said I needed to be alone. I cried the whole time I was with her. The boys gave me space for about two weeks before they came to check up on me. They were so angry and wanted to go out. Sunghoon was the scariest. I had never seen him that annoyed before. Jay had to cool him down. That day, we all promised each other that we wouldnt do anything to him and forget about it. After all, he was now with his girlfriend so there was nothing else to worry about. Since then, we’ve been even closer and even if they irritate my soul, they’ll always be like family to me”
Jungwon felt sorry for you and angry at himself. Angry for not being nice to you when he met you and sorry that you went through so much. To date, people still thought of you as a homewrecker or a mistress when you were nothing of the sort.
“He deserves to a beating up” he stated wanting nothing more than to hit Heeseung.
“I’m over it, I wanted to tell you.” Jungwon could tell that you were still not over it, considering the way your body shook.
“Do you want a hug?”
“Yes please,” and he took you in for one. Even if he worked with soil all day, he smelt good. He smelt like comfort and wait...baby powder!?
After a while, you had to ask, “Do you use baby powder?”
“It makes my skin soft” and you giggle.
You don’t know for how long you stay in his arms, all you know is that you feel better.

Gift exchange
It’s Christmas Eve, and you’ve forgotten about your Christmas company party. Even worse you forgot to get a gift for the “not so secret Santa” - your company’s tradition. Wanna top it? Make it even worse? No problem. The person you were supposed to get a gift for? Your crush. Defsoul - the most talented, kindest and hottest person alive. What are you going to do now?
Tumblr media
pairing: Lim Jaebeom (Defsoul) x reader
genre: smut, fluff, Jaebeom is a producer, Y/N is a manager
warnings: smut: daddy kink, light choking, ass play; foul language (please don’t read it if you’re not old enough)
words: 4989
A/N: TFW you try to write a GOT7 reaction, and you end up with one-shot. I know I’m kinda late with whole christmas theme but i wrote it last night and figured out I could post it anyway.
***
You barely got to shut your eyes before your alarm tore you up from your dreams. It was nine in the morning, and you went to sleep at six AM because of your work. You groaned as you shuffled in bed cursing your job, three hours of sleep was not enough for anyone. Being manager of K-pop girl group was hard enough but being the manager in December when there was award show after award show and festivals - that was a nightmare. To other people December was equal to Christmas, gifts, parties, New Year's Eve but to you, it was synonymous with constant state of tiredness, your biggest wish right now was to spent Christmas break alone, just you and your bed. You sighed as you dragged yourself to shower. Girls had only slept for 5 hours, and you felt bad for them — not only were they invited to each award show that existed they also just have had a comeback. You could see how exhausted they were and yet your superiors still pushed for them to go to some stupid TV show on Christmas Eve. You got yourself ready and went to pick them up and get them to set.
The recording went smoothly, and you were already daydreaming about coming home early and passing out on your bed. It was six PM already, but you still had to drive girls home and step into the office for a bit. You sighed you'd be home eight PM at best - well it was still better than coming home at two or three AM. You were about to go and thank everyone for their hard work when your phone vibrated. It was your best friend and coworker.
"Hey Inha. What's up?"
"I wanted to check if you remember about the company party tonight."
You hit your forehead and groaned.
"OMG! You forgot! Have you bought a gift at least?"
"No..." you whined. You wanted to die. You had so much work lately that you've absolutely forgotten about that party — it was for staff only and each year you'd drew lots to pick the person you were supposed to give a gift to. It wasn't even secret Santa your boss simply came to conclusion that gift exchange would help out with forming friendships...
"Girl... Do you at least remember who you drew?"
Of course you remembered. How could you not. This was your lucky year, you got Defsoul the hottest, kindest and most talented person working for your label. You had a small crush on him since that day he gave up his coffee for you. You were falling asleep standing while girls were recording their vocals, and he chuckled at you before telling you to sit by him and drink some coffee. It probably meant nothing to him but that was one of the most stressful weeks in your life, and you weren't sleeping at all during that time — ITZY were about to make a debut, and you couldn't stop worrying over it. You remember how touched you were by this simple gesture, after all no one ever gave you coffee, usually you were the one getting it for other people. His looks certainly didn't help with your hopeless crush. He was H O T and not even simply hot, more like "I-look-like-an-idol" hot. He had a black mullet, piercing under his eye, he also had his nose and ears pierced to make matters worse for you he also had most hypnotizing almost feline-like eyes. Honestly you wondered why didn't he become an idol with a face and talent like that. After that one time, he would buy you a coffee whenever he had seen you and you two became somewhat close - you'd swing over his studio when girls had to train and talk about everything and nothing. He told you about his cats, his favorite restaurants, his passion for taking pictures and well you mostly told him about your job since you basically didn't have any private life - it really felt pathetic. He even took your photo once - telling you that the picture would help him later when he would be looking for inspiration (it is a mystery till this day how you haven't fainted that evening). One day you were waiting for girls to finish up their dance practice and fell asleep on one of the benches — it was difficult day for you since you haven't slept for twenty hours already (you had to fight off some crazy sasaengs and didn’t sleep whole night keeping an eye on their dorm — some would say you were overdoing it, but to you members of ITZY were like your little sisters). You woke up in his studio on his couch. He carried you there while you were asleep and tucked you in, covering you with his jacket. You were extremely embarrassed, apologetic and thankful at the same time. He chuckled at you before saying that it was okay and forced you to promise that you'd oversleep to work the very next day. Inha claimed he had a crush on you since he never treated her with the same kindness or anyone really. But you knew better, he was a good colleague. A good, extraordinarily attractive colleague you wanted to kiss and lick and...
"Hello? Earth to Y/N??" your friend snapped you from your thoughts.
"I have to go Inha! Thank you for reminding me! Love you!" You checked the time, there was no way you'd manage to drive girls back, buy a gift, get ready for a party and do all that without being late. You sighed you will have to improvise. You drove off girls and came back rushing straight to your apartment. The party started at 10 PM and you had to shower, somehow fix your sleep-deprived face and figure out how you're going to apologize to Def... You were home a few minutes before 8 rushing into your bedroom - at least you knew what you were going to wear. That would be the most expensive, or more like the only expensive piece of clothing you had — a birthday gift from girls. It was an oversized tuxedo jacket from Alexander Wang and you haven't worn it yet. You tried it on, it had quite deep cleavage, and exposed a lot of your legs, but you figured it would be ok for tonight. You smoothed out black velvety material before stepping out of it. You still had to shower and do your makeup. An hour later you were looking at yourself in the mirror — the mask Inha got you really helped out with bags under your eyes. You did good with makeup as well: it was soft brownish smoky eye, orange toned lipstick and some shimmers here and there — you actually looked healthy and well rested (a true Christmas miracle really). You looked even better after getting in your outfit — Ryunjin was right, the tuxedo like dress fitted your vibe. You even wore some black heels which didn't often happen since you always chose comfort over looks when at work.
Fortunately you got to the party on time even though you couldn't catch a taxi for twenty minutes or so. People inside were already mingling and drinking, and you decided to grab something to drink before looking for Def. You located a small table with champagne in the corner of the room. You downed two glasses as quick as you got there, and were already grabbing a third one when a voice spoke up startling you so much you jumped a little.
"Rough day?" Defsoul was standing next to you, whiskey in his hand, smirking at you. You immediately blushed and gawked at him. He was so handsome it was simply unfair. This man clearly woke up today and chose violence. He was wearing a silky black shirt — and it was quite unbuttoned, so you had a chance of seeing his broad chest (you were currently having a heart attack), and slacks he also styled his hair so that his forehead was exposed with one defiant streak of hair falling onto his brow bone. You wanted to groan. You fucked up — this could've been your chance to get him to like you more...
"Y/N? Are you alright?" he was genuinely concerned, and here you were, basically salivating and staring at him like a starved, nasty man. That was so embarrassing. You cleared your throat and looked away.
"Yeah, sorry. I'm just really tired today..." He smiled at you warmly, and you wanted to punch yourself for not getting him something, anything.
"That's great!" You gave him a confused look, and he bit his lip nervously while scratching the back of his head. He was so cute you could kiss him. Well to be fair you felt like you could kiss him any time. Why...why did you have to forget that bloody gift...
"I mean it's not great that you're tired... It's just… ah, shit I suck at this. Here." He handed you a plastic card, and you read it absolutely puzzled. Lifetime pass for coffee with Jaebeom — it also had a cute chibi character that looked just like Def, except it had some cat ears.
"Now you can get coffee whenever you want. I mean I know you can have it whenever you want anyway, I just thought that maybe you'd like someone to get it with... I mean get it for you… It's ok if you don't like it really, oh by the way I'm Jaebeom, I don't know if I already told you my real name or not…" he was rambling, and you were screaming inside your head. That was so cute. So kind. You wanted to hug him and kiss him so badly. "Ah, shit. I really do suck at this." he said more to himself than to you. You finally looked at him and grinned.
"I love it." you said and his eyes turned into big orbs before light pink colored his cheeks.
"You do?"
"I do. It's a perfect gift." you smiled, your heart swelled with happiness. You could technically go on a date with him whenever you felt like with this handy piece of plastic. That is if he wouldn't start to hate you in the next few minutes for forgetting his present.
"I'm glad." he grinned and it took your breath away. How come he was so perfect? You got even more nervous looking at the gift from him.
"Ah... I was your not so secret Santa as well…" you started.
"Really? So what did you get me?" he was genuinely interested, and you wanted to go back in time and kill yourself for forgetting about this party. You looked up. His eyes were gleaming with curiosity — you were fucked.
"It's me! I'm your gift!" you joked and looked down to cover your nervousness. You were about to say that it was just a stupid joke and apologize before he spoke up.
"I love it." his voice was deeper than normally, and you looked up shocked by it. He was checking you out, his hungry eyes traveling up and down. You've never seen him like that. You could feel warmth spreading on your cheeks under his intense stare, a tight knot forming somewhere near your core in excitement.
"Y-you do?" your voice faltered, and he chuckled while moving closer to you. He smelled musky with a hint of citrus. Your legs were about to collapse under you.
"I do." he hummed he was so close you could feel the warmth radiating from him. His hand brushed against yours as he bent down to reach your ear. You were sure your skin was burning where he touched you. "So, tell me Y/N, when can I unwrap you?" his tone was dark and dangerous and when he straightened up you've seen this gleam in his eyes as he smirked. Your legs felt like made from putty and you'd collapse if his hand weren't already wrapped around your waist. You couldn't believe it was happening. Your heart was beating so hard it was about to spring off your chest — you were wondering if he could hear it. You certainly could even though blood ringed in your ears. You felt your throat going dry and your panties getting moist.
"Def…" you started weakly. Shocked by your own voice — it sounded so needy.
"Call me Jaebeom.." he purred. "Would you like to go to my place? I don't think I can wait any longer to enjoy my gift…" You quavered from excitement, his voice was laced with a promise of sleepless night.
"Yes, let's go." you said and he smiled at you. You were sure you lost any oxygen you still had in your lungs at that moment. His hand left your waist, and you wanted to catch it and wrap yourself with it again. Instead, he grabbed your hand and interlocked your fingers with his, smiling at you sweetly before he led you outside. You couldn't focus on anything else, but his fingers wrapped around yours. His hand was warm, and he held you firmly, his skin soft and delicate. You managed to quickly catch a taxi and through whole drive Jaebeom's hand lazily travelled up and down your thigh. His gentle fingers sending sparks to your core every time he brushed the inside of your leg. You glanced at him, eyes filled with desire — he shivered, and it made you feel a different kind of excitement — you didn't know that you had this kind of effect on him. You got out of the taxi and his hand was instantly on yours, he was almost dragging you skipping every other step as he rushed upstairs to his apartment. He opened the door and let you in. Immediately three cats came in and brushed against your legs. You smiled softly.
"They like you.." Jaebeom murmured against your neck while taking off your coat for you, you gasped at the feeling, and he released low chuckle before he started planting soft kisses against your neck — each time his lips touched your skin your muscles clenched with anticipation. You couldn't wait any longer. You turned around and looked at him, his eyes were glued to your lips and excitement bubbled somewhere below your stomach.
"I waited so long for this..." he started but never got to finish as your lips were on his in a second. Even his lips felt like cotton, and you sighed against him when he kissed you back. He was clearly enjoying slow kisses. You grew impatient once again and licked his lower lip, he gave you access you asked for, and your tongue brushed against his hungrily. You could already feel how wet you were, arousal making your panties stick to you painfully. Jaebeom's hand travelled around your back dropping dangerously low now and then but never grabbing you — you really wanted him to hold you and take you roughly. Once again you grew impatient this night. You took his lower lip in between your teeth, you bit it hard and moaned. That seemed to make him lose his cool, he let out a growl that travelled straight to your core.
"Bad girl..." he said before he turned you around and pushed you against the wall so that your back was facing him. His tongue already on your earlobe, you sighed and shivered when he licked it and let out breaths against wet, sensitive skin. "I wanted to take it slowly, but you're so eager, so impatient…" he was purring into your ear, and you were aching down there more and more with each syllable.
"Jaebeom..." you moaned as you pressed your ass against him. He sucked some breath in when you pushed down against his hard length, his body working on its own accord, one hand already on your hips pressing you harder when the other one cupped your breast. This is not how he envisioned tonight, he thought that he'd at best confess his feelings not have you here crumbling in his hands while moaning his name. Your hips bucked against his by itself as soon as you felt how hard he was. His hand grabbed your clothed breast, and you regretted wearing anything. You wanted to feel him against you naked skin not through layers of clothing.
"Jaebeom-ah..." you moaned his name again, and he rewarded you with sucking on your neck — it was painful yet pleasant, and you almost forgot what you wanted to say before he licked the fresh mark and kissed it. "Didn't you say you wanted to unwrap me?" You said in weak voice still affected by his mouth on your neck. He laughed against your skin, and you thought that's how paradise would sound like.
"You really are impatient... do you want me to fuck you so bad?" he asked rubbing into you, his dick almost in pain from the friction.
"Yes...please..." you panted out, and he let out some animalistic sound upon hearing how needy you were. He made you face him and unbuttoned your tuxedo-like-dress before he tossed it somewhere behind him. You shivered under his stare. He pulled you into him and his hands immediately travelled to your ass, grabbing it and lifting you up without effort. He began kissing your jaw, neck, collarbones, and you tilted your head, so he could have better access. He carried you to his bedroom and laid you down carefully on the mattress before he took a step back. His sheets smelled just like him, and you sighed in pleasure, sinking deeply into his fragrance. He bit his lip seeing you in his bed, wearing nothing but lacy underwear. However, you didn't want just lay and wait, you got up and reached out to his own shirt undoing the buttons hastily, but he didn't let you, he was in control. He held your hands and pushed you back on bed. You bounced and your hair created a sort of crown, spreading around your face — it emphasized your features even more, and Jaebeom felt as if he was making love to some kind of goddess. Your lips, eyes, hair, body everything was perfect. He wanted to taste you already.
"You need to ask me nicely." He smirked at you and you pouted a bit before a mischievous gleam appeared in your eyes. You let one of the straps fall from your shoulder and gave him an innocent look before taking off the other one as well. Just one move and Jaebeom would see your torso naked. He bit his lip unintentionally, when you pushed your breast closer while also moaning.
"Pleeeaaase... undress already and fuck me... daddy." He groaned - you'd be the end of him. He quickly tore any clothes that were on him leaving only his boxers on, and you stared him down hungrily. Saying he was beautiful was and understatement. He was perfect. His skin was light and smooth, it gleamed in the moonlight that illuminated the room through a small window located right above the headboard. It was still dim, but you could clearly see the outline of muscles on his stomach, and a tempting v line, waiting for you to be licked on his abdomen.
"Take off your bra." he ordered and you obediently followed. His eyes devoured your glistening breasts, two darker beads already hard and inviting him in. He licked his thumb and brushed it against your nipple watching intently for your reaction. You didn't disappoint him as you arched your back hungry for his touch. He took another one into his mouth, his tongue making circles around it for what felt like forever. The sound of his wet licks and your quickened breath feeling the silence of the room. You squeezed your legs looking for any kind of release, it didn't help much. Your core was aching and since you could only wait for him to bring you pleasure you closed your eyes and focused only on the sole path of his tongue. It was almost like a torture and Jaebeom seemed to enjoy it greatly, lazy licks, circles around your nipples, blowing cold air on them to hear your whines. And so when he finally sucked on your swollen nipple you moaned his name so loudly his neighbors could hear you. His dick twitched in his boxers. He couldn't wait for much long either, you were the most beautiful person he ever saw, and you were squirming under him, waiting for him to fuck you. He was honestly shocked he didn't take you against that wall in his hall when you pushed your ass against him. He smirked at you, he haven’t even fucked you yet and you were already having this kind of expression. His lips travelled from your breast lower and lower before his face hovered above your panties, hot breath on your wet, clothed pussy sending you almost over the edge. You looked down at him, his eyes were full of lust. He was so beautiful you felt like it was just a dream, not reality. When he pressed his nose against your wet folds you moaned again. He inhaled it a few times as if it was the most ravishing smell in the world.
"You smell so good I might go crazy." He actually was going crazy as his cock let out a bit of pre-cum only upon him smelling your pussy.
"Daddy... please..." you pleaded looking him in the eyes, he couldn't take it any longer. In one swift move he tore the panties off you, they were soaked, and he sniffed them one last time before throwing them out.  He took off his own underwear, and knelt between your legs his cock in his hand already.
"You're so wet for me. Such a good girl, I'm going to fuck you so good." he purred out, and you could go off his words only. He put on condom quickly and teased your entrance before sliding into you slowly. He was watching your face intently as he didn't want to cause you pain.
"Just don't move for a second, you're so big I need to get used to the stretch." It was painful a and pleasant at the same time - the way he filled you up. He didn't buck his hips as you asked, instead he kissed your lips, your jaw, neck, and you kissed him back with passion. Soon he started rocking into you and you moaned into his mouth.
"Harder." you managed to say between the panting and kissing. He straightened up and increased the tempo, sweat building on his forehead.
"Harder..." you said and his hand went to your throat while he almost crushed into you. He choked you lightly, and you felt the orgasm building already.
"Daddy... harder..."
"You dirty girl. On all fours." You obediently followed his order and soon he was fucking you doggy style, his hand spanking you lightly. "You like that? You like when daddy takes you hard?" His voice was so low you shivered under him.
"Yes, daddy." you moaned out when his huge dick filled you with each thrust.
"You're so dirty and good to your daddy. I will reward you and play with your other hole." Before you could say anything he spat on your ass and his finger danced around the other entrance. Just that was enough for you to see white. Your toes curled and your head went back, you screamed his name like it was the only thing keeping you alive, and you could feel how he twitched inside you when you clenched around him in orgasm spasm.
"Y/N, ah... I'm cumming, I'm…" he said through gritted teeth while pounding into you. You both reached your highs and fell onto the bed. He discarded the condom and started kissing your back lazily.
"Do you want to shower together?" he asked.
"Yes, but I don't think I have enough energy to go for another round…" you said while turning his way. He was looking at you lovingly, his expression completely fucked out. He was beautiful, the most handsome you've ever seen him actually. You sighed when his fingers brushed off hair from your face in sweet gesture.
"That's ok, I'll just shower you and we can go to sleep." You nodded, and he took your hand and guided you to his bathroom. He switched on the shower and pulled you under the water when it was warm already. He was so delicate with you, soaping your body, shampooing your head. You smiled at him warmly, and he chuckled.
"You're really cute." he said with a smile after making and weird shapes out of your shampooed hair.
"Stop it, I'll blush." you said while getting under the water, he was quickly spooning you, kissing your back almost with devotion.
"Good, you're even cuter when you blush."
You both towelled yourself dry and Jaebeom even brushed your hair for you before pulling you back to bed. You cuddled your face into his chest and he closed his arms around you. You didn't know if it was one-night stand only, but you'd worry about your possibly broken heart in the morning since his scent was already inviting you to the dreamworld.
You woke up to some rumbling. You opened your eyes and shot up, fear washing over you — that wasn't your bedroom. Memories of last night came next, and you fell back to the sheets squealing quietly into his pillow. That's when the realization hit you. What if it was just one-night stand, and you were rolling around his bed happily in love like an idiot? You sighed but before you could do anything, the man in question came to the bedroom smiling at you warmly.
"You finally woke up sleepyhead." He sat next to you and bend down to kiss your cheek. You looked down. "What's wrong? Have I done something?" He looked concerned.
"I.. no." You said sitting up, and he raised his brow on you. Ugh, he was looking great wearing a plain gray hoodie. You sighed.
"Was that one just for one night? If it was a one-night stand tell me now before I do something stupid."
"One-night stand?" He looked at you offended. "One-night stand?! Do you even know for how long I've been crushing on you? It was few years of my desperate attempts to ask you out, buying you coffee, looking for you constantly. Hell, I even made Yugyeom exchange the stupid lottery draw with me, so that I could give you that card. I actually thought that would helped me out with asking you out. One-night stand?! Jesus, Y/N, he made me basically his slave for a day, and you're asking me if it's one-night stand?" He was angry, and you looked at him shocked, you have never seen him like that. "Do you want this to be one-night stand?!" he raised his voice again.
"No!" you answered him immediately.
"No?! Great, then you can... wait you said no?" He cleared his throat, and you could actually see him smiling like an idiot before he cleared it again. "Well… good because I made us lunch already, and it would go to waste otherwise." He tried to act cool. You giggled at him and pushed him down before sitting on top of him.
"You're cute." You said and he blushed looking away.
"I'm not."
"Yes you are. You are the cutest actually." He groaned in response getting even more red, and you giggled once again. It was the first time you got him to blush so much, usually it was just light pink appearing on the apples of his cheeks. You kissed his face leaving pecks all over it, he chuckled before speaking again.
"I don't want this to be one-night stand. I like you I was actually planning on asking you out yesterday."
"You were?"
"I was. So would like to go out with me?" he wiggled his brows at you and you grinned before nodding.
"Mmm. I'd love to." you answered and he pulled you for a lazy kiss.
"Come, I prepared some food for you. It's hardly festive, but it's something"
"I'm sure it's great. I just need to put something on myself first."
"You can have my hoodie and sweats." he said while looking through his cabinet. "Here." He handed you clothes and blushed once again mumbling that he will wait for you in the kitchen. He got embarrassed — that was just too cute.
You slipped in his clothes, his smell wrapping around you. You got out of the bedroom only to be greeted by three cats purring and brushing against your legs. You smiled and petted them, scratching them on their chins. Jaebeom was just standing and staring at you, still not believing his luck. You were wearing his blouse, it was hanging on you like a dress basically and his heart ached at this picture. You looked up and grinned.
"They like me!"
"I'm pretty sure they're going to like you more than they like me." He chuckled. "Now come, let's eat."
You nodded and entered his kitchen, there was kimchi jjigae and rice prepared for both of you. You smiled and sat down already salivating because of the delicious smell.
"Merry Christmas Y/N." He said looking up from his dish.
"Merry Christmas Jaebeom." You smiled at him lovingly. "So what did Yugyeom made you do?"
"Don't even ask." He said and you giggled. Let's just say you didn't get to spend the Christmas break alone in the bed like you wished.

Dancing has always been your option to escape this cruel world that we live in.
You've always danced your heart out everytime you perform.
And it has always been there whenever you can't express your feelings to others.
"Okay! We're done now!" Your choreographer yelled right after your newest title track ended.
Your group dropped onto the floor right after you got the okay signal from him. Pants and gasps of your members were the only sound that surrounds the dance practice room.
"You did great y/n, I'm relieved that you're a fast learner" your choreographer said as he patted your shoulder, you shot him a tired smile then mumbled a "thank you", "You guys are good to go right after cleaning up the dance practice room, the room is needed for later" your members immediately took their bags and started cleaning the room.
"Hey y/n! Are you coming with us? We'll head to the dorm right after cleaning" one of your members said, Chaeryoung to be exact, as she picked up the pieces of the group's snacks earlier. "Nah, you guys get going, I still have rap lessons later", Chaeryoung nodded and went straight to the door with the other members following behind her.
"Take care y/n, we don't want our newest member to not feel well before our comeback, alright?" Your leader, Yeji said as she sling her bag on her shoulder and head towards the door. "Will do, Unnie, you guys take care too!" They waved for the last time before shutting the door behind you.
You still can't believe that you had been added as 6th member of ITZY right after you auditioned from a year ago. You've worked hard to become an idol and now you're here, you know that you needed to work harder than you did. That's why you wanted to left behind, because you wanted to improve more.
You move towards the speaker to play your title track from it's beginning and ran towards the mirror, posing your position and danced all your heart out.
When the music ended, the door suddenly slammed open leaving a squeak from your lips and watched the door with your brows meeting together.
"Oh, Hey y/n! Didn't know you'd still be here!" You smiled at the people as they start to come inside the room one by one, making the room filled with voices again.
"Hey Jisung Oppa, sorry, I totally forgot that you were using the room after us".
"It's fine! You can still continue practicing, we just came here to eat our dinner, our practice has been cancelled" Jeongin said as he skipped towards the sofa then dropped his bag.
"Is that why Chan Oppa is not with you?" You walked towards them, Minho nodded at you then started to ramble about how the oldest is not taking care of himself again.
Chan was your secret lover, he helped you ever since you moved to Seoul year ago. You both got close and even letting you hide in his studio whenever you don't feel like going back to your dorms. It was that time where you got insecure because of how people see you as a person who doesn't have any emotions.
You aren't actually the kind of person who hides their emotions in front of other people, instead you let out all of your emotions a lot that they often found you as a prey. But as you realized their intentions, you started to become numb, putting walls around you as you meet the old and new faces you've seen in your life.
Only Chan, his members, also known as Stray Kids and your own members, ITZY are the only people who have seen your crazy side, and with you debuting on ITZY, means that the public needs to see your crazy side too, and that what made you overthink about you being an idol.
Chan was the one who came into your mind, and when you told him your worries, he accidentally confessed to you while he comforted you which made you stop crying, he got worried and apologized over and over until he felt your lips against his.
And after that, you never doubted yourself again.
"Can you check on him, y/n? Tell him that the food's on it's way"
"Sure thing, be right back" you walk towards the door then went inside the floor's elevator to your boyfriend's studio.
The boys knew your relationship with their leader, and they're very happy to welcome you in their circle of friends. Since they now have known the oldest weakness, which is you, they don't mind abusing it knowing that it's also for their leader's health.
You and Chan knew that when you enter in a relationship as an idol, it would mean that you two need to be more careful since you haven't even debuted yet and dating one of the well known leader in 4th generation of kpop history. So it means, less time being and seeing each other, but whenever you got the chance to go and visit him in the studio, you would. Even if you need to sacrifice hours of your sleep to  see him.
Because that's what made you both stronger and desired each other more.
Right?
As the elevator dinged, you step outside and walk towards the all known studio that your CEO gave your boyfriend to work on their music.
You opened the door knowing that he'll be wearing headphones, his back facing you with the sounds of keypads tapping filled the studio.
But instead you were welcomed with Chan's back facing you and a girl sitting on his lap, her moans and Chan's groans filled the studio along with their skin slapping.
The door you opened slammed on the wall, making your boyfriend and the girl stopped what they're doing, their closed eyes before are now wide open as they looked at you standing in the studio's door.
You ran outside the studio heading towards the elevator before your vision becomes blurry by the mixed emotions you're feeling at the moment. You hear Chan calling your name behind you but you have no plans on talking to him right now.
Good thing that a staff of the company stepped outside the elevator, you went inside and pushed the dance practice floor quickly. Chan chased after you but the elevator doors closed right in front of him.
As the door closed, you lean back against the elevator wall, stared at the door then tilted your head while looking at your blurred reflection in front of you.
You've been through this already, having your heart shattered by guys before Chan came into your life. He knew about those experiences you had which is why it is hard for you to pinpoint your emotions at him.
Are you mad at him because he knows you like the back of his hand?
Are you mad at him because of what you've seen in his studio?
Or are you mad at yourself because you trusted him with taking care of you heart?
You couldn't care less anymore now. He broke his promise that he will take care of you. It's not new to you anymore, but the pain that Chan had cause you to feel it again, and made your numb self worse than you are before.
So when the elevator dinged to know that you've arrived on the dance practice floor, you shook your head to clear your head with thoughts and went to the boys who are inside the room before.
As you opened the door, heads were turned and you immediately noticed that your members are with the boys. When Yeji saw you she ran towards you and gave you your in-ear monitors.
"Y/N! Manager oppa said that JYP needed to see your performance with us now since their practice are cancelled" Yeji pointed at the Stray Kids members who are sitting on the floor quietly eating their dinner.
"Y/n-ya, where's Chan hyung? Did you told him that the food's here?" Hyunjin asked you as Lia helped you with your in ear monitor and handing your mic.
Before you even got the chance to answer, the dance room's door opened again to reveal JYP, along with your choreographer and your boyfriend, who's head is hanging low while following the two older men inside the room.
Your members and Chan's stood up to greet the three as JYP told the Stray Kids to continue eating as your group start to prepare for your performance in front of him.
"I want to see the dance performance that you prepared, Y/n-ssi. Sorry for the sudden announcement of your evaluation, you needed to be verified that you're qualified to become the part of ITZY," JYP explained your situation while Ryujin went to the computer to prepare your music.
You saw Chan at the corner of your eye as you assured the CEO that it was okay and asked you about your performance in your lessons. You couldn't bring yourself to smile at the man who was talking to you, so you just nod and answered his questions before he asked you to move towards the mirror to look at your performance.
You walked towards in front of the mirror and looked at your friends who was cheering you silently, smiling at you as your eyes landed on Chan, which you shrugged and close your eyes to yourself focus on your performance.
This is what you've been waiting for, now those emotions that you can't express, you can finally show it to them. You should be nervous performing in front of the owner of the company, but you let your emotions take over you, letting everything go and make sure that Chan is listening.
Do you remember you remember (Said)
Remember what you said (Said)
You started talking to me
As if you would give anything to me
Don’t you remember you remember
Remember what you said (Said)
Then you changed
As if you took special pills
Cast blue, my blurred vision
Is this true? You won’t regret this?
My yesterday, my boo boo boo
Lonely life, I like it
I swallowed the water, I got cold
I want you to be ruined, I won’t hold you
You were my yesterday, my boo boo boo
Lonely life, good bye
You look at me with cold eyes
You see me and turn as if you didn’t know me
I just stand here vacantly
I see you who I didn’t know
I can’t help laughing
Now I don’t know you anymore
I’ll forget you woo woo woo
Go away, don’t even look back
I’ll erase you woo woo woo
Go away, don’t even look back
The mixed emotions that you've been bottling in from the events hours ago has suddenly came over to you. You suddenly felt like a new person, you feel like you were the only one watching yourself dance into the rhythm.
When the music stops, you hear applause from your right side, realizing that they've been watching all along. After you give your bow, JYP confirmed that you will be debuting as the 6th member of ITZY and will prepare immediate comeback for your group. You give your thank you's and bowed at your choreographer and the CEO, who is now exiting the room, leaving you with your members, Stray Kids and Chan.
Oh, right. Bang Chan was watching you.
You were pulled into a hug by your members, squealing and congratulating you for being able to debut and join alongside with them. Stray Kids joined in congratulating you for your hard work, but you weren't responding, you weren't happy, you finally became an idol, but why does it feel like nothing?
"Y/n, I'm so sorry please let me expla–"
You turn your back on him and went towards where your backpack is, you took off your in ear monitor and put it inside your bag before you sling it on your shoulder and looked at your friends.
"I'll be going now, enjoy your dinner", you said in a cold tone and walk towards the door.
"Y/n, please talk to me," Chan grabs your wrist tightly with his two hands, you heard his voice shaking, realizing his mistake.
"There's nothing to talk about."
"Yes, there is! Please! Don't leave me, I won't do it again!" You heard Chan starting to cry, your wrist now wet because of his tears falling.
"I only asked you a promise Chan", you said, your back facing him.
"I know, and I am sorry, I wasn't thinking straight, I should've never done it." He pulled you into him, hugging you from behind.
"But please, don't leave me, I can't live without you" he continued as he put his head at the crook of your neck. You hold his arms to let yourself go from him and turn around to look at him.
His black curly locks that you used to play with are messy, his eyes and nose are red because of crying, cheeks that are stained of with his tears, shaking lips as he continue to cry in front of you. Chan wasn't looking at you, he was hanging his head low but enough for you to see his state.
You would've forgive him. But the image of him and the girl earlier keeps flashing back into your head, giving yourself more reason to shut yourself from everyone else.
Now you can't feel anything, you're just there standing in front of him; blank face, your eyes that always holds stars are now just brown orbs filled with darkness and your lips pressed on a line that used to smile back then.
"Then good luck finding a way to live then, Bang Chan Sunbaenim," you bowed and walked away from him.

Mia wakes up from the movement of her boyfriend stirring in his sleep. His arm was wrapped around her waist protectively and her head, as well as her arm, rested on his chest.
She winced at the dull pain in her head and soon realised she didn’t remember much of what happened last night.
Mia tried to untangle herself from Soobin without waking him in the process, and as she did so she started to look for her phone, finding it in the charger on Soobin’s desk. She grabbed it, looking for clues on social media as to what happened last night. She looked at the Instagram stories of some people that were at the party, but nothing stood out to her.
She realised you hadn’t posted anything and frowned. That’s unlike you.
Something in her told her to check for Yeonjun’s story, but again. Nothing. Very unlike him too.
She sighed looking back at her boyfriend who was still sound asleep.
“Something is off,” she whispers to herself.
Tumblr media
You wake up with heavy lids. Usually, the first thing you do is grab your phone. But this time you just stare at the ceiling.
Last night was the most eventful night you’ve had since you started college and not in a good way.
It started out great, though it ended quite abruptly and well, terribly.
You close your eyes again as your mind flashes back to what had happened right before you left.
“Y/n,” Soobin says cautiously. “I-” he starts but you don’t let him finish.
You tear your eyes off of Yeonjun and Yeji, who by now had detached themselves from each other as they giggled to themselves.. They hadn’t noticed any eyes on them yet, especially yours.
“I want to go home,” you say saddened, turning back around to Soobin. He still wasn’t able to tear his eyes off of Yeonjun and Yeji as he stared at them, fire emitting from his pupils.
“Soobin,” you warn him. “Let’s get Mia and let’s go. Now. Please” you plead.
Soobin finally looked at you, his heart breaking into a million pieces seeing the way your face fell. If it wasn’t for your pleading tone to leave the party, Soobin would have probably launched himself at Yeonjun.
This was exactly what he was afraid of, but not in a million years did he guess it would happen this way.
“Ok, ok. Let’s go,” Soobin says taking your hand and leading you through the crowded house.
You left without saying a word to anyone else, avoiding as many people as you could.
Mia was fast asleep in the back seat of the car, and you silently stared out of the window lost in deep thought.
Soobin didn’t bother to start talking to you about what happened, knowing it would be to no avail.
“Are you sure you want me to take you to your place? You live alone…I don’t think-”
“I want to be alone,” you say cutting him off, your voice weak and hoarse.
Soobin nods at your request. He put his hand on your thigh to comfort you before making a left to drop you off at your place.
The buzzing of your phone snapped you back to reality, and when you see the caller ID you sigh, it’s Mia.
You want to tell her everything, but you don’t really know where to start. Somehow you feel thankful for the fact that she was shitfaced drunk last night, cause if she wasn’t, she would have killed Yeonjun.
You let your phone ring until it goes to voicemail, but much to your dismay, Mia calls again.
You knew she wasn’t going to stop until you picked up. So you accept her call at the third try.
“Hey,” you say, your voice still laced with sleep.
“Hey, are you okay? Where are you? I don’t remember anything from last night and I need you to fill me in. What happened? Did you and Yeonjun kiss? Or better yet? Did you fuck? Is he with you?”
Mia’s questions are like a whirlwind to your scrambled thoughts and her words basically go in one ear and out the other. You wince at her mentioning Yeonjun, sighing and burying your face in your pillow wanting to scream.
When you stay quiet on the other end of the line she realises that something was up.
“Y/n?”
You take a deep breath and tell her everything in one go. From the fight you had with Soobin, to the walk you had with Yeonjun, all the way to the MTV Cribs tour you had with Johnny. You explained further on how Beomgyu, Soobin, and Yeonjun barged in and how hostile and angry Yeonjun suddenly got.
Mia didn’t react much other than a few ‘What the fucks’ until you got to the part where Soobin basically made you cry as you reconciled,  now getting to the juiciest part of it all.
“And then I witnessed Yeonjun basically eating Yeji’s face in front of everyone.”
“N-O,” Mia gasped. She couldn’t believe it. Anger filled her senses as she inhaled sharply.
“Dude. ‘I’m here. I’m at Soobin’s. He didn’t take me to my place, he took me to his place. That means that Yeonjun is next door. FUCK,” Mia whisper-screamed.
You sit up, your eyes growing big. “Mia, I swear to god. Do. Not. And I mean, DO NOT say or do anything to Yeonjun,” you curse at yourself for not asking where Mia was before. You should have known Soobin would take her with him since he would want to take care of her.
You nervously bite the inside of your cheek, waiting for her to reply.
“You want me to pretend like everything’s okay when you just told me all of that?” She scoffs. “I guess you don’t know who you’re talking to,” Mia says walking out of Soobin’s room.
None of the other boys had woken up yet, so the living room was empty. She looked at the door to Yeonjun’s bedroom, biting her lip while angrily glaring at it.
Mia walked further into the living room, sitting down on the couch, deciding against any rash decisions.
“Well, he’s here. I see his car keys on the coffee table,” Mia says staring at the keys as she clears her throat.
“Dude. Don’t do anything. Please, I’m begging you. I’ll look crazy desperate.”
“I could go key his car,” she says lifting the keychain, playing with it in her hand.
“Mia,” you warn her.
“Alright, alright. The two of you should resolve this together, like adults. We’re not in high school anymore and this endless pining for each others’ attention needs to stop,” she sighs putting the keys back on the coffee table.
“Besides he probably just kissed Yeji because he thought that you replaced him with Johnny,” Mia states confidently.
“That sounds so juvenile,” you say kicking your sheets off of yourself and getting out of bed.
“What other reason could he have, y/n?” Mia sighs. “He’s like a little kid who’s never had a serious relationship. All he knows is meaningless sex. And given the fact that the only girl he actually liked in college basically blew him off for another rich and popular senior, probably just made him insecure.”
“The words Yeonjun and insecure don’t belong in one sentence,” you say rolling your eyes.
“It’s true though. He just wants to be loved, but he’s afraid of getting hurt. That why he doesn’t let anyone get close.”
“Maybe you’re right,” you give in.
“No, I AM right. You should’ve just watched him play beer pong and fed his ego a little. He’s a Virgo, he wants the satisfaction and the attention of the person he likes. Yet you went ahead and ditched him for a house tour with another hot guy,” she chuckled at her own observation.
Mia and her god damn astrology references. You hated how right she was.
You also hated how clearly she judged the situation because lord knows you couldn’t. Suddenly you had so much more to think about.
You rub your temples in an attempt to release the tension building up in your brain.
“Well, I hope so. Cause the other explanation would be that he’s just not that into me as I thought he was,”  you groan.
Mia sighed throwing her head back on the couch but as she did so, she heard a bedroom door creak open. Mia’s ears perked up at the sound, snapping her head in the same direction as the noise.
It was Yeonjun’s room, but the person exiting the room was not Yeonjun.
Mia’s eyes widen as she sees Yeji close the door behind her.
“Mia?” you call out for her due to the long silence on the other end of the line. “Earth to Mia?”
Mia manically tried to lower the volume on her phone so your voice couldn’t be heard by Yeji, but Yeji jumped at the sound of a voice, looking straight into Mia’s widened eyes. They both looked at each other like deer’s caught in headlights.
Busted.
“Mia! What…are you doing here. You scared me,” Yeji’s voice was barely audible but you heard it. And you knew exactly who that voice belonged to.
Does this mean what you think it means? You immediately put your volume up. Basically gluing your phone to your ear to hear what was going on a little better.
“My boyfriend lives here,” Mia stoically replies, earning an understanding nod from Yeji.
She couldn’t believe this and neither did you.
“Ahh, right. Soobin.” Yeji says putting two and two together.
“You were in Yeonjun’s room?” Is all Mia could ask. And as if she could sense it, she quickly put her phone on the armrest of the couch, hoping you could hear their voices clearer, and you did.
“I-uh…well yeah, it kind of happened,” Yeji says awkwardly smiling at Mia.
“Yes. Hate it when that happens.” Mia’s sudden cold tone confused Yeji, but she didn’t think much of it as she collected her coat and bag from the dinner table.
“I was just about to head out…” she says walking towards the front door.
“Enjoy your walk of shame,” Mia says under her breath.
To your relief, Yeji didn’t hear the snarky comment your best friend made. You did not want more drama to erupt. None of this is Yeji’s fault, though it would be easy to blame her, you knew that would be even more childish than Yeonjun’s behaviour.
Yeji turned to look at Yeonjun’s bedroom door one more time before she opened the front door to their apartment. “Tell Yeonjun I had fun,” is all she says, and just like that she’s out the door.
As the door closed behind Yeji, Mia frantically reaches for her phone again.
“Bitch. Did you hear that!?” She exclaims trying to be as quiet as possible.
“Y-yeah.”
You’re frozen in place and literally couldn’t compute.
“Tell Yeonjun I had fun? What in the fuck. How about you tell him yourself, bum ass bitch,” Mia scoffs as she continues her rampage. “I take back everything I said about resolving things with Yeonjun as adults, not after this revelation. The fucking nerve this took from him. Why would he take her home? As if no one would find out-”
“I’m gonna hang up,” you say before Mia could go on any further.
You had to admit, this hurt. Seeing them kiss was also painful but you could come back from a kiss that happened out of childish jealousy. This, however, was a different pang to your heart.
“Y/n….” Mia’s tone softened as she heard the weak sound of your voice.  She knew you were upset, and she hated that she couldn’t give you a hug right now.
You hang up. Deciding that a hot shower is the only thing that will make you feel better.
Tumblr media
Mia silently made her way back to Soobin’s room. To her surprise he was already awake, scrolling through his Instagram feed.
“Good morning baby,” he hums with his low raspy morning voice, smiling at her as he sees her messy bed hair and grumpy hang-over face.
“Hi,” she sighs. “Thank you for taking care of me,” Mia says apologetically as she climbs on top of him, sitting down on his torso.
“You don’t have to thank me for things I’m supposed to do,” he says yawning.
“Oh, by the way…” Mia smirks seductively, inching closer to Soobin. “What?” Soobin looks at his girlfriend with expecting eyes, pouting his lips for a kiss but instead of a kiss, he gets surprised with a hard slap across his chest.
“AH, What the fuck was that for!?” Soobin whines, rubbing the affected area with his large hand.
“That’s for fighting with y/n and making her cry,” she says crossing her arms.
“So…you talked to her,” Soobin sighs. He untangled himself from Mia, getting up and stretching his body. “I should call her,” he says rubbing the back of his head.
“I already did and she told me everything. But here’s the thing. As I was on the phone with her in the living room, Yeji suddenly emerged out of Yeonjun’s room.” Mia explains in a hushed tone, afraid that the walls suddenly became thinner and Yeonjun could hear them speak.
Soobin’s mouth fell agape. “What!?” He exclaims in a whisper.
Mia just nodded at her boyfriends’ shocked expression. Soobin clenched his fist as his face contorts from shock to anger in a matter of milliseconds.
“I dare him to breathe near y/n again, I swear to god,” Soobin says through his teeth.
Tumblr media
You had gotten out of your way too long shower, hair wet, dressed in nothing but your underwear and an oversized t-shirt which ended just below your butt.
You mindlessly do your whole skincare routine but you jump when your phone starts to buzz. You reach for it, eyes widening as you see who just texted you.
[Yeonjun 12:43 PM]: Hey.
[Yeonjun 12:43 PM]: Do you still have my jacket?
You stare at your phone, but it’s like your brain doesn’t want to comprehend that this is what he starts the conversation with. Maybe he needed an excuse to come and see you? Or maybe... you were just getting ahead of yourself and the dude just wanted his expensive Versace jacket back.
Which you understand.
[Y/N 12:45 PM]: Hi, yes I have it, sorry.
[Yeonjun 12:45 PM]: Can I come pick it up? You left without saying goodbye.
You scoff at his unbelievable reply and you hate acting impulsively, but you can’t seem to stop yourself from typing.
[Y/N 12:46 PM]: You seemed a little occupied, so :)
[Yeonjun 12:46 PM]: Huh?
[Y/N 12:46 PM]: I’ll be home for another hour if you want to pick it up before I leave, be my guest.
[Yeonjun 12:47 PM]: Ok…
[Yeonjun 12:47 PM]: Are you mad at me or something?
You roll your eyes at his observation. This motherfucker is either dense as fuck or he’s just pretending to be dumb. It’s like he couldn’t put two and two together.
You didn’t reply back to him and didn’t really expect him to show up either. Half an hour later you were seated on your couch, watching an anime while eating some instant noodles when you heard a knock on your door.
Shit. For real?
You get up in a hurry, quickly chewing down the noodles that were still in your mouth and retrieved Yeonjun’s jacket from your dresser.
You take a deep breath before you open the door, and there he is. Choi Yeonjun, as handsome as ever.
He looked like he never even partied the night before as if he got a full 8 hours worth of beauty sleep. He was dressed in an oversized black shirt with his Adidas joggers, accompanied by his usual chains, rings, and earrings that he never seemed to take off.
His eyes widened when he saw you, dressed in nothing but a large t-shirt while your hair was still damp from the shower you took. Right, you forgot to put pants on but you honestly didn’t mind taunting him a little.
“Here you go,” you say try not to stare at him for too long as you hand him his jacket.
Yeonjun retrieved it from you without a word, still looking at you with wide eyes. His feet were frozen to the hard wooden floor beneath him.
“Was that all?” you ask crossing your arms as you lean on your doorpost.
You tried your hardest to sound unbothered and it was working. You got Yeonjun flustered and confused. His least favourite emotions.
“I-eh…I guess?” Yeonjun says rubbing the back of his neck.
“Ok, have a great day,” you say closing the door, at least that was your plan but Yeonjun put his foot between the door; stopping it from closing on him. You’re shocked at his reflexes and so was he judging by the look on his face.
“Wait,” he says opening the door again. “That’s it?” He asked, looking at you with his confused puppy eyes.
You give him the same look of confusion. “What do you mean, you came to get your coat. Did you need anything else?”
“So you are angry at me?”
You can’t help but roll your eyes, breaking character and he notices.
“Why?” He asks biting the inside of his cheek.
It’s one of his habits. He does that when he’s trying to understand something, or when he’s nervous. You couldn’t tell which one it could be this time and honestly, you didn’t give a shit.
“Listen, if you truly can’t figure that out yourself then that says enough.”
And just like that, it’s like an epiphany happened inside of his brain. His calm and collected demeanor disappeared as he scratches the back of his head.
“You saw me with Yeji.”
You stay silent, ready to close the door again but he forces it open, walking inside of your apartment.
“I didn’t realise I invited you in?” you say looking at him in disbelief as you close the door behind you.
He nervously paced back and forth. “Is that why you left? Cause you saw me with her?”
You still don’t answer him, which annoyed him. “Talk to me,” he says putting his jacket down on your nearest piece of furniture while taking a step closer to you.
“You should’ve talked to me first, but you ran. Like a coward.”
Your voice was laced with venom as you took a step back, away from him.
He didn’t know why, but you calling him a coward hurt more than he would like to admit. He scoffed, taking another step towards you.
“Cut the bullshit y/n. You’re the one who played me. I thought we were getting along just fine but I turn around for two whole seconds and you leave with some other dude.”
“Johnny is nothing more than a friend.”
“Does he know that?”
“YES!” you yell at him. You’re frustrated at your sudden outburst but you couldn’t take it anymore.
Your anger startled Yeonjun and he took a step back giving you some space.
His eyes were still looking for more answers in yours. He opened his mouth to speak but you beat him to it.
“You don’t get to put this on me when you wouldn’t even listen to what I had to say. Instead, you run off and have sex with Yeji out of spite? Cause you were jealous of Johnny? Real mature, Choi.”
“Wait, how do you know th-”
“I want you to leave,” you interrupt him, opening the door for him once again.
“Y/n...”
“No,” you sigh closing your eyes. “Leave.”
Yeonjun sighs in defeat. Picking up his jacket once again, walking to your front door, stopping just inches away from you. “For what it’s worth…I’m sorry,” he said giving you one last look.
“Don’t let the door hit you on the way out,” you say, your tone bitchier than you expected.
He didn’t reply, and you didn’t dare to look him in his eyes either, knowing that those dark orbs would pull you back under his spell again.
You close the door behind him and lean your forehead against it, emotionally exhausted from the whole situation. But you had a feeling it was nowhere near over yet.
Tumblr media
A few days went by like nothing had ever happened. You distracted yourself by organising your entire closet and cleaning out your cabinets.
You cleaned your whole apartment hoping it would clear out your mind as well but Yeonjun was still a prominent figure that captivated your thoughts. You swore you wouldn’t open his Instagram stories or Snapchat’s, but you used Mia’s account to do so anyway.
He was his usual self, he had fun and showed it off. You only see the good parts of Choi Yeonjun on social media, so you weren’t surprised. He wasn’t the type to post sad-girl quotes in his stories or subtweet to get attention, making it even harder to figure out what was really going on in his head. He just shows us what he wants us to see anyway.
You couldn’t believe the fact that you fell under his spell even though everyone around you seemed to warn you about him. You just had to get yourself hurt, once again.
You were more mad at yourself than you were mad at him, to be honest, but for some reason, his pleading tone accompanied with the desperate look in his eyes from that day kept swirling around in your thoughts.
For the next couple of days, you focused on yourself and your mental health.
You decided to be anti-social even though your friends invited you to go do stuff. You just wanted to binge on your favourite shows and unwind from the hectic deadline filled semester that you had.
Apart from Soobin and Hueningkai visiting you to check if you were still alive, you hadn’t seen anyone else yet since that night. However, tonight there was a campus festival/bonfire for the new freshman who were coming in after summer as an introduction and orientation day and you and Mia volunteered a few months back for extra credit.
Everyone and you mean EVERYONE at the school that had somewhat of a social status was going to be there since it’s the last official event before the summer break officially started. Meaning that you would certainly see Yeonjun again.
“I can’t believe you got me to do this,” Mia sighed as she clips her name tag on to her hoodie a little too crooked to your liking.
You chuckle and fix it for her. “Also, you ghosted on us after the party. Did something else happen?” You bite your lip and shake your head. “Nothing worth mentioning.”
You didn’t want to hide stuff from her, but if Mia knows, Soobin knows. And you weren’t ready for that. Especially when you were still organising your thoughts on the situation.
The rest of the day went by pretty fast. You ran around with your checklists and made sure everything was ready and set for the festival to start with some other student board members. Mia, on the other hand, was in charge of giving groups of students full tours of the campus, which meant that you were separated for most of the day.
When the clock strikes 8 PM, the festival starts, and more and more people start to come in aside from the future freshman that were already there.
You stand at the sideline, checking off the last task on your to-do list and sigh in relief.
Technically you are a supervisor for the night. So you couldn’t enjoy the party.
Also, some of your teachers were there as well. Which meant that you couldn’t misbehave even if you wanted to.
Your phone buzzes and you check your messages.
[Soobin 8.04 PM]: Hiiii, I’m here. Where are you?
[Y/N 8:04 PM]: Near the entrance, to the left. I’m wearing our obnoxious purple campus hoodie, shouldn’t be hard to find me.
[Soobin 8.04 PM]: I see youuuu, don’t move.
You chuckle and search for your friend. It didn’t take long before you spot him since he was built like a skyscraper. You watch him bulldoze his way through the crowd to greet you and laugh as he almost trips over his own legs as he approaches.
“Hey girl, heyyy,” Soobin says enveloping you in a hug. He was followed by Taehyun and Beomgyu. Who also hugged you and said their hello’s.
“Are you already drunk?” You ask Soobin as you make him look at you by tugging at his chin.
“We tried to stop him but it was of no use,” Beomgyu chuckled.
“Let him live a little,” Taehyun interferes. “Our captain has worked so hard all year.”
“Just…look after him since Mia and I won’t be able to. We have to work tonight,” you pout.
“That sucks. We missed you at game night yesterday and now you’re telling me that you don’t get to party with us at all tonight?” Taehyun pouts back at you. And you simply nod at him with a sad facial expression to match his.
You were wondering if Soobin told them about what happened that night at the party. Soobin is a horrible liar and you knew he wouldn’t lie as to why you didn’t make it to game night. But you didn’t want to ask.
“Where’s Hueningkai?” you ask looking around for him. “Or did you kill him at game night for cheating in that fruit card game you guys play?” You joke, earning chuckles from the boys.
“He’s with Yeonjun hyung and a few others from the team. They had dinner somewhere before they came here. We came straight from the dorm” Beomgyu explains, as he was texting someone on his phone.
They definitely knew something was up. Taehyun is smart and quick-witted, so you were sure he knew too. Especially since his eyes grew in size a little after he heard Yeonjun’s name.
Beomgyu however, was too busy with his phone to care. You decide to pry and look over his shoulder. “You’re talking to Ryujin again?” you say smirking as you read her name and Beomgyu immediately hides his phone from you. “Maybe,” he pretended to be annoyed but he couldn’t help but crack a smile at the sound of her name.
Soobin sighed, clearly unamused. “Where’s Mia?” He asked sitting down at the bleachers behind him.
“She should be on her way back from her last campus tour,” you say looking around you, hoping you would see her and that’s when you spot him.
Yeonjun.
He walked in with his confident stride, surrounded by other attractive guys from the team, including Hueningkai.
You could see the future freshman girls freak out a little as they entered. And you couldn’t help but roll your eyes.
He ate it up, lost in his own bubble. No one could touch him, that’s how unreachable he made himself seem.
But you knew better. Your mind flashing back to his desperate eyes, trying to find answers in yours when he stepped foot in your apartment, and his desperate eyes when you kicked him out.
You averted your gaze from them quickly, but not before Yeonjun’s eyes found yours.
Shit.
You sigh and pick up your schedule. “Guys, I’m sad to say this, but I have to leave. I have bar duty.”
Soobin’s ears perked up at the word ‘bar’ and he looked at you, his eyes disappearing into crescent moons as he gave you a coy smile. “Does that mean you’ll give us free drinks?”
“The opposite,” you say sticking out your tongue at him. He just glares at you in return and you laugh at his childlike antics.
“Gotta go, when I’m free, I’ll join you guys, and please keep an eye on him,” you tell Tae and Beomgyu as you run off.
“Will do sis,” Taehyun yells after you.
Tumblr media
You arrive at the bar stand and see Mia already overwhelmed and panicked. Trying to keep up with the number of people in line. She spots you and sighs in relief.
“Thank god! Where were you? I can’t handle this alone,” she says throwing an apron your way.  You swiftly caught it and tie it around your waist.
“Sorry, I ran into Soobin, Tae, and Gyu. Soobin is already drunk by the way,” you say as you start pouring drinks in cups, organising them so they could be handed out immediately.
Mia rolled her eyes. “Of course he is,” she chuckles shaking her head.
“Did you see Yeonjun yet?” Mia asks carefully as she leans against the bar, staring at you intently.
“Yes, he was with Hyuka and some other guys from the team.”
“He didn’t try to talk to you at all since the party?” Mia asks confused.
And just as you opened your mouth to answer her question, you were interrupted.
“I’ll take two beers, and your phone number.”
A familiar voice made your ears perk up, and you turn around. You spot the tall brunette and give him a wholehearted smile.
“Johnny!” You exclaim enthusiastically, giving him a clumsy hug over the counter.
“You and your endless flirting,” you joke as you hand over the beers to him.
He gave you a beaming smile, taking a sip of his drink as he hands you the money in return. “I mean, you pretty much left without saying goodbye. And since I didn’t have your number I couldn’t contact you,” he points his finger at you accusingly, and you giggle.
Mia was behind you, busting her ass trying to serve the alcohol deprived students but that didn’t stop her from keeping an eye on you and Johnny.
She noticed how your face lit up, and she also noticed how Johnny leaned closer to you over the counter. And then…her eyes landed on an equally tall figure, standing behind Johnny.
“Are you gonna take much longer bro? I’m trying to get drunk tonight.”
You freeze in place, feeling like you were caught doing something you weren’t supposed to do.
It was Yeonjun. He looked at you with his intense gaze. And all you could do was stare back at him in shock.
A different type of tension filled the air. Your eyes darting from one to the other in panic.
He glared at Johnny through half-lidded eyes, impatiently tapping his feet. “I’m in desperate need of some vodka,” Yeonjun states, giving Johnny a sarcastic smile, who by now had turned around to meet his eyes.
“So am I,” you say to yourself, preparing for the worst.

TAEHEE’S 100 QUESTIONS AND 100 ANSWERS
Tumblr media
“hello, everyone! this is taehee and i’m about to do 100 questions and 100 answers!”
“ah! i’m aware that taeyeon unnie did this but,” taehee chuckles nervously, “i haven’t watched it so this is really a new thing for me.” she dramatically gasps in front of the camera, bringing a hand to her forehead as if she were an actress in theater.
taehee snorts when she realizes what she had just did, leaning forward to conceal her embarrassed giggles. she hears the staff laughing along with her, and she looks up, making eye contact with every one of them. “i really don’t know why i did that,” she straightens herself up before pressing the back of her hands to her cheeks feeling how warm they got from seconds ago. “i have absolutely no idea what came over me. i’m so sorry.”
“100 questions seem like a lot though,” she tilts her head to the side, sucking in air through her teeth as she squints at the computer screen. “i might end up talking a lot- i won’t bore you, will i?” taehee looks up at the staff again, her bottom lip unconsciously jutting into a subtle pout.
her face breaks into a grin as the production crew all answer ‘no’ at the same time. they absolutely adored her. “woah, i really like your reactions,” taehee giggles, “okay, let’s start!”
Q6. BLOOD TYPE
“blood type? my blood type is o.”
a small chuckle escapes the girl, “do you guys want to know something funny?” her right hand goes to fumble with the watch on her left, it was the one her mum gave her. “my dad loved to play around, and so when i was younger, i thought my blood type was z.”
you’d hear the staff burst into laughter before taehee did, bringing a hand to cover her loud ones. “seriously! i think it was in fifth grade where i knew that wasn’t real,” she reasons out, hands making vague movements in the air as she spoke. titters were still heard behind the camera, causing taehee to shake her head at them, arms stretching out to resume typing.
“i remember my dentist laughing at me.”
Q9. HAPPIEST MOMENT OF THE DAY
taehee beams, “when we have the day off, it’s usually mark that would wake up first. he’d wake me, then jungwoo hyung, then the rest will just follow and we’d all have breakfast.”
“and even if we don’t like talk or anything, the mood’s like really calming and comforting,” she adds. “i mean that’s how i feel. so the happiest moment of my day is having breakfast with the members.”
Q10. HOBBY
“being sexy,” taehee purses her lips and shifts her gaze towards the staff wearing amused smiles on their faces, some were trying to hide their chuckles at the girl’s openness. “why?” taehee asks in an accusing tone, brows furrowing together as she looks at them incredulously. she gasps, “you don’t think so?”
“okay, fine,” she shrugs, “being pretty.”
Q11. THING YOU’RE MOST UNSATISFIED ABOUT RIGHT NOW
taehee pouts, “not seeing czennies, of course! i miss seeing them already.”
Q15. IDEAL TYPE
all the confidence from minutes ago seem to disappear the moment she reads the next question, a shy giggle sounding from taehee. “why does it suddenly feel like i’m on a dating site,” she tilts her head to the side, running a hand through her hair before typing.
“tall,” she laughs. “is that enough or should i add more?” one of the people behind the camera shout a very enthusiastic, “one more!,” causing taehee to smile brightly at them. “i really like your guys’ reaction!” she tells them, “my members should be like you more.”
“okay, they have to like the food i like, right? then... someone who likes pizza.”
Q19. MALE CELEBRITIES YOU FIND HANDSOME
“male celebrities you find handsome- OH!,” taehee claps her hands in front of her, making jazz hands in the air in excitement for a bit before typing.
“nam joohyuk, lee dongwook, park bogum,” a playful smirk spreads onto taehee’s lips, her shoulders bouncing as she types.
her eyes widen and she looks up, “they’re all single, right?”
her remark makes the production crew laugh once more, and a grin takes place on the girl’s face. “people might take it the wrong way! i’m just asking,” she brushes it off slyly, adding, “they’re all very handsome men.”
Q20. FEMALE CELEBRITIES YOU FIND PRETTY
“oh but there’s a lot though...” taehee seems to think for a moment before slowly moving her fingers across the keyboard. “emma watson.... my friend, lee naeun.... aespa’s winter....” she mumbles. “ah blackpink’s jennie unnie, she’s sexy,” and she finishes off with, “etc.”
she chuckles as she meets eyes with the staff. pumping her fist in the air, she cheers, “yes, i am very satisfied with my answers.”
“next question!”
Q21. ITEM YOU TREASURE
“i consider myself quite sentimental, so,” she types, “anything that my love ones give me.”
she raises her left wrist, twisting it to show off the vintage watch that she wore almost everyday, “i’ll be honest. i don’t like wearing watches, but my mum gave this to me like eight years ago? it reminds me of her so i wear it everyday.”
“and then this one,” she then tugs on the bracelet hiding beneath the watch, rolling the thread between her fingers, before letting it go. “this one was given to me by jaemin last year... around new years? i think.”
"the members give me stuff like these for gifts. i have a lot more at home,” she beams, “they’re in this little box on our dresser.”
Q31. ALCOHOL TOLERANCE
“i haven’t tested it but i know i can drink more than one bottle of soju,” taehee stops a smile from showing itself by biting her lip, prompting the producer to ask, “are you just saying that-”
“NO!,” she quickly protests. “i can definitely drink more than one. right? right, of course.” the production crew chuckled as she talked to herself, taehee’s dimples peeking out from the corners of her smile as she types, “more than one... for sure,” on the questionnaire.
Q41. MEMORABLE MEMORY
“ohhh,” taehee hums. “we had this like, variety show. during the last episode, all 23 members were there and we were having fun even if we were just like eating and talking with each other. compared to the previous ones, we were all doing these fun activities and like an escape room? but i found the last one the most memorable to me.”
“at that time, i really felt like i was at home.” a small smile graces taehee’s features as she nods, “wasn’t that too cheesy? it’s sincere though.”
her eyes seem to scan the computer screen and she releases a short laugh, saying, “all my ‘happy’ answers have food in them. a way to a woman’s heart is through the stomach, truly.”
Q44. FAVORITE DANCE
“malhaebwa da eoseo da 'cause i'm not shy,” taehee dances in her seat, delivering a charming wink to the camera in the end.
“actually, all of itzy’s choreography is really nice. they’re so cool.”
“OH WAIT!!! chungha sunbaenim’s choreography is so beautiful too,” taehee gushes. “have you guys seen her choreography for ‘play’? watching it feels like a piece of art. she and the dancers pull them off so well!”
she then mumbles, “i was learning the choreography to ‘dream of you’ sometime after it came out. i’m a really big fan of her.”
Q45. SONG YOU LISTEN TO MOST RECENTLY
“i’ve been listening to taylor swift’s old songs a lot recently, i can’t pick one of them,” taehee says. “i think she released a new song this month but i haven’t listened to it.”
“december’s the month where i always find myself drifting back to her,” she sighs dreamily, propping her chin on her right hand and looking at the camera with glazed eyes. “i really love taylor swift, i’ve been her fan even before debuting.”
Q46. WHAT DO YOU LOOK AT FIRST IN THE OPPOSITE SEX
“their eyes,” answered taehee, “a person’s eyes could tell a lot about the person, in my perspective. there’s like this feeling that you get when you look at them.”
“what’s the feeling that you get when you look at your members’ eyes?”
the girl snorts, tucking the loose strands of her hair behind her ear. “what i feel? i feel like they’re saying, ‘oh noona, you’re so cool. treat us to food some time.’”
taehee tsks, “haechan’s and jisung’s eyes speak the loudest.”
Q49. WHEN BETRAYED BY THE ONE YOU LOVE
“ohhhhh, this is interesting.” taehee smiles as she glances to the ceiling above them, thinking. “what would i do?”
tilting her head at the camera, she finally answers, “i’d let them go.”
“if they’re really sorry, then maybe i’d still let them in my life, but i don’t think i’d trust them the same way ever again,” she shook her head slightly, her serious tone was enough to send shivers down the spine of whoever had heard her.
Q50. WHAT YOU WISH TO GIVE TO THE ONE YOU LOVE
“mmm, trust? i want to let them know that i trust them.”
taehee cards her fingers through her hair, sighing. “trust doesn’t like, only come into play to see where a person’s loyalties lie, but it can also be like, ‘do you trust me enough to confide in me? do you trust me enough to let me help you?’ i want to be able to give that kind of trust to the people i love.”
Q55. WHEN CHUBS IS THE CUTEST
taehee squeals, “i love this question!”
“chubs stays in our dorm sometimes, before she doesn’t get to spend that much time with us but now she can. so when i’m not in the dorms, mark and jungwoo hyung just watch her because she’s like really energetic and if you leave her alone, you just won’t know what she can do,” she laughs. “and then i come home and i’m really tired so i just jump in bed and lay down for a few moments, but chubs wants to play with me so she does whatever she can do to get me to sit up and play with her.”
“and then when she notices that i’m tired or something, she’s gonna stop and lay down near me or on my stomach, sometimes she’d pat me. i don’t know where she learned that but she does that,” she chuckles, and her voice tones down a pitch softer, eyes gazing off to the side as she toys with her necklace, “that’s when chubs is the cutest.”
“i said too much, didn’t i?” taehee scrunches her nose at the camera, “i really love my dog.”
Q66. ARTIST YOU WANT TO HAVE A COLLABORATION WITH
“i don’t know if this can be considered but maybe something with ten hyung and taemin hyung,” she laughs. “like an sm station with the three of us, i think that’d be nice.”
Q80. MOST MEMORABLE BIRTHDAY PRESENT
“honestly, it would be chubs,” a wide smile makes its way onto the girl’s face as she nods. “haechan was the one who gave her to me, so it’s technically ours, i guess.”
“that’s when i felt my love for him overflow,” taehee proceeds to make gagging noises, disappearing under the table as if she were vomiting, only coming back up to jokingly ask for water. “let’s hope he doesn’t watch this.”
Q84. INTRODUCE YOUR PHONE CASE
“introduce your phone case, okay!”
taehee picks her phone up from the table and shows its back to the camera. it was a clear case patterned with cute drawings of different kinds of dinosaurs in shades of green and blue.
“it’s a dinosaur phone case. we had a video call fansign event a few months back, and one of my fans told me they call themselves dinozens,” she explains, chuckling, “but i guess jaemin knew that before me because he got this even earlier than that.”
she pointed to the picture that was stuck inside, adding, “this is the picture we took for the concert tickets. i kept some, see?”
Q85. IF YOU HAD TO CHOOSE BETWEEN LOVE AND FRIENDSHIP
“friendship, of course!” taehee types.
“if the person i dated ever hurt me,” she winces, twitching her head to the side before nodding, “let’s just say it won’t end well if they’re going to deal with yuta oppa after dealing with me.”
Q86. IF THE EARTH DESTRUCTS TOMORROW
taehee answers before typing, fingers tapping rhythmically on the table as she props her chin on her other hand, “i’d want to go home, then surf with my dad and my mom would watch us from the shore. she tried surfing but she doesn’t like it.”
“then i’d hangout with the members, eat miso soup, play with chubs,” she lists off, “tell the person i like that i love them.” the other people that were there with her bursts into laughter once again, taehee’s body shook with every one she tried to hold as she scrolls upwards, scanning the previous questions. “nam joohyuk, lee dongwook, park bogum,” she calls, her eyes playfully squinting towards the camera, “i love you.”
Q95. WHAT I’D BECOME 20 YEARS LATER
“twenty years later? i’d be forty-two! woah,” taehee mumbles, “forty-two...”
“i’d still like to sing,” she nods. “i’m not sure if i could still dance by that time, i’ll try,” a giggle slips past her lips until she gasps, snapping her fingers, “i want a house!”
the crew laughs once again, this time at her innocence. “i’d have a house, then a car, and then there would be this space where chubs could play in. that’d be so nice.”
Q100. TODAY’S TMI
“we’re at the last question!” taehee cheers. she stands up and rolls her shoulders, smiling to the staff behind the camera as she stretches for a bit.
the girl goes back to her seat and hovers her fingers above the keyboard. “today’s tmi,” she reads, before sending a sweet smile towards the camera, “ah i woke up earlier than i usually do, so i went first and made 김치 볶음밥, with eggs, and then mark woke up and helped me, then we woke jungwoo hyung up.”
“yes, that’s how we had breakfast this morning.”
Tumblr media
“so we finished answering 100 questions! YAYYY!” taehee cheers, her dimples poking out from the sides of her face. “i had so much fun answering this. it’d most definitely change the next time i do something similar but for now, these are my answers.”
she tucks her hair behind her ear and clasps her hands together, the bracelet on her wrist making its appearance again, “i think it’d be nice if the other members do this too; see how crazy we are,” she mumbles the last bit of her sentence, intentionally wanting that part to be heard. she raises her eyebrows cheekily and pursed her lips, shrugging. “i’m very sure i wrote nothing i would regret in the future so,” she raises both of her hands before her, waving them cutely, “this was 100 questions and 100 answers with me! bye bye!”

Broken Trust~ Part 15

Paring: Bang Chan x reader; Mark Tuan x reader(arranged marriage)
Genre: Mafia au, angst, little bit of everything honestly
Warnings: Cursing, mafia life shizzle
MASTERLIST
It had been about a month since you decided to go with Mark. Ever since then, he had been attached to your hip, barely giving you time to breathe on your own. Was it annoying? Hell yes but you had no choice but to just suck it up and deal with it. JYP and Mark started to plan your wedding more seriously and they were constantly asking you questions about shit you didn’t care about. If you weren’t marrying the person you wanted, why did it matter what the wedding looked like. There was one thing you were looking forward to though.
Wedding dress shopping.
Even if you didn’t care what everything else looked like, you could still look rocking in your outfit. Plus, it would be one rare occasion where you could be away from Mark. Even though he was hesitant to let you go without him. But in the end, you were able to convince him to let you just go with some of the girls.
Best and worst idea ever.
You see the thing is, the people who came with you were Irene, Joy, Seulgi, Jihyo, Sana, Yeji, and Lia. So half of them were with JYP and half on Stray Kids side.
Yikes.
You were kind of glad that you didn’t blow twice’s and itzy’s cover to red velvet or else that would have been real awkward.
AnYwAyS, you currently were trying on some dresses, in fact you were on your 5th one but none of them hit in the way that you wanted them to. Sighing, Sana suggest trying on the big ball gown dress that she had picked out, which you agree to cause why not. Might as well, right? As you turn around to go back to the dressing room, Jihyo’s voice stops you.
“Hey y/n, do you want me to help you try it on? I bet that ones gonna be a little hard to get on,” Jihyo said with a wide smile.
You give her a confused look considering you had just been having the bridal stylist help you the entire time.
“Uh yeah sure.”
Once you make it to your dressing room, Jihyo asks the stylist to go pick out a couple more dresses while she helps you. Once you’re alone, her happy demeanor turns into a serious one.
“I’m sorry to have to do this here but there’s literally no time where you aren’t by Mark or his yes men.”
“What’s up?” You question her as you step out of the dress you had on and stepped into the big one.
“Listen y/n, I know that you wouldn’t have just chosen to marry Mark willingly so I just want to know what’s up. If you’re scared that he’ll harm you or something you shouldn’t be! You’re under Stray Kids, Blackpink, Twice, and ITZY’s protection. We aren’t going to let you get hurt.”
“It’s not me that I’m worried about,” You confess after a few moments.
“What do you mean?” She questions as she zips up the dress.
“Listen, is there anyway that we could meet to talk later on tonight? Like at 10? And if you’re able to can you ask Blackpink to come too? Even if it’s just one of them that’s fine. We could meet in the training room and then go somewhere secluded to sneak bp in or something I don’t know,” You ask her once she’s done zipping you.
“Of course, are you going to be able to sneak out without Mark noticing though?” She questions while fluffing up the dress a little.
“If I say I’m going to train with you I think he’ll let me. I still don’t understand why he’s making me share a room with him though,” You state with an eye roll.
“I can’t even take a shit without him freaking out,” You joke causing Jihyo to snort a little.
“I bet.”
“Jihyo one more thing.”
“What is it?”
“Stray Kids can’t know that this is happening though. Just because I’m willing to explain what happened to you guys doesn’t mean I want them to know.”
“Y/n,” She sighs.
“Please, I don’t want to make a bigger mess then I already have,” you plead.
“Fine but if they find out I putting the blame on you.”
Nodding your head, the two of you exit the room to show off the dress, which honestly wasn’t too bad but it still wasn’t what you wanted.
“Oh that dress is horrible,” Irene said absolutely disgusted.
“What? She looks stunning in it! Y/n, if you weren’t marrying Mark I totally would marry you,” Sana said with a wink.
Ah yes, your gay supportive queen.
Anyways, after about an hour more of dress shopping you finally were able to “say yes to the dress” which was nice. By the time everything was done, you were pretty exhausted and hungry.
“I’m starving,” Sana complained as you all pilled into the car.
“Sucks to suck I guess,” Joy said giving her a little shrug.
“Don’t be shy, stop and get us food,” You said causing Lia and Yeji to hum in agreement.
“Starve,” Irene said as she whipped out of the parking lot.
“Calm down speed demon,” Jihyo muttered.
The rest of the day went by as a blur. You didn’t really do much, you kind of just followed Mark around like a little puppy since, again, he very rarely let you leave his side. You were sitting in Marks office as he was looking over some documents. You were extremely bored so you kind of were just doodling on a piece of paper. Glancing up at the clock, you saw that it was 9:45.
“Hey Mark,” You call out softly.
“Yeah?” He responded, not looking up from the document he was reading.
“Is it okay if I go train with Jihyo for a little?”
This peaked his interest a little.
“Why?”
“Because if I have to sit in this stupid office one more second I think I’m going to die of boredom,” You whine.
“How long do you plan on training for?”
“I don’t know, probably a couple of hours.”
“Sure, go ahead, just be back by 12,” Mark sighs.
“Wait really?” You say with a wide smile.
“Yeah why not,” He answers matching your smile.
“Thanks Mark! I’ll see you later,” You say as you quickly stand up so you can change your clothes. Gotta make it more believable.
“Y/n wait,” Mark calls out, causing you to stop.
“I’m...I’m sorry for the lack of freedom you’ve had. I promise you that once we’re married things can go back to how they were before everything happened with him. I just want to make sure that nothing happens to you before then.”
You don’t really know what to say so you just nod your head slightly. Making sure he had nothing else to say, you exit his office making your way up to your room. You rip your clothes off quickly and throw on the first workout outfit you saw. You honestly hopped that all of Blackpink could come, it had only been a month yet you missed them so much. The thought of being able to see them again made you so excited. After looking at yourself in the mirror, you exited your room and made your way down to the training room. Entering, you were pleasantly surprised to find that the only person in the room was Jihyo. Usually the room was filled with people, usually young rookies, training.
“I just kicked everyone out,” Jihyo said nonchalantly, “Wouldn’t be the first time I’ve done it.”
“Smart move, smart move. So, are they coming?” You question, eager to know if she was able to message them.
“Yes ma’am, just waiting for the call letting me know that they’re here.”
“Gosh I’m so excited to see them, I’ve missed them so much.”
“They’ve missed you too. Everyday they ask about you, so does Stray Kids,” She informs you.
A bitter sweet smile forms on your face.
“It’s good to know they don’t hate me.”
“They’re more worried and confused honestly.”
You open your mouth to respond but are cut off by Jihyo’s phone going off. After a quick exchange, Jihyo opens the back door of the training room and glances both ways to make sure no one was outside, after a couple of seconds, you see Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa enter the room, all dressed in black.
“Y/n, make sure the front door is locked,” Jihyo calls out.
You jog over to the front door, lock it, and make sure the windows are covered, Jihyo doing the same for the back door.
“Y/n!” Lisa squeals as she rushes over to you and brings you into a hug, Rosé following after her lead.
“Gosh I’ve missed you guys,” You sigh as you pull away from Lisa and go to hug Rosé, a large smile planted on your face.
“We’ve missed you too! We’ve been worried sick about you,” Rosé says with a sad look on her face.
“It looks like you’ve lost weight, have you been eating?” Rosé asks as she takes in your appearance.
“Yes I’ve been eating mom,” You laugh off.
“Well, you know why we’re here so you might as well tell us everything,” Jennie comments coldly, Jisoo not saying anything.
Big yikes.
You nod your head while you signal for them all to take a seat on the floor.
“Before I start, I want to make it very clear that Chan and the rest of the boys are not allowed to know any of what I’m going to say. It’s just going to make things worse and I’m not changing my mind about the decision I made, am I clear?”
The girls all glance at each other before turning back to you and nodding.
With a satisfied head nod, you go into detail about what Mark had said and how if you chose to be with Stray Kids that he wouldn’t stop until he had killed everyone of them. You then explained how that he promised that if you were to marry him and pick him over Chan then he wouldn’t kill any of them.
“I know it sounds stupid but Mark is a man of his word. If he says he’s going to do something, he means it and I just, I couldn’t take the risk. I know I probably hurt you guys and I’m sorry but you have to understand that I’m doing this for your own safety,” you say, ending your long speech.
“That’s bullshit,” Jennie states while shaking her head.
“What?”
“I said that’s bullshit! You’re coming back with us now y/n. I don’t care what fake promises he has made you, it isn’t a good enough reason,” She fumes while standing up and grabbing your arm.
“Jennie you don’t understand! I want to go with you, I really do but I just...I can’t risk it.”
“Jihyo has been telling us how miserable you look and how controlling Mark has been, we’ll be damned if we let you stay here another minute,” Jisoo finally speaks up.
“But it’s not your decision to make,” You argue back.
“Y/n, listen to me. I know, you’re scared about what Mark can do but we aren’t little powerless kids. We can fight back against him but you have to trust in our abilities. Please, just come back home with us, don’t throw your life away for our sake” Jennie pleads.
You look over to Jihyo, hoping to get some type of support from her.
“Don’t look at me, I’m with them on this one. You marrying Mark isn’t going to solve anything. It’s just going to anger Chan more and it’s just going to add more fuel to his fire. It’s going to add fuel to all the boys fire. What do you expect is going happen once they get angry? They’re just going to attack JYP and that’s going to give a reason for Mark to kill them. His promise is one that I know he can’t keep and even if he does, he never promised you that he won’t hurt or lock them up. I feel like no matter what you do, you can’t stop Mark or the boys from trying to kill each other.”
Jihyo did have a good point....
“But if you guys could just convince them not to, then we could avoid all of that,” you suggest even though you know it was a dumb hope to have.
“And you think that’s going to work? Chan loves you y/n and as far as he knows, you still love him so he isn’t going to stop until he gets you back,” Rosé comments.
“Well maybe I could convince him that I don’t love him.”
“As if he would ever believe you,” Lisa said with a little eye roll.
“I just...I would rather him hate me and believe a lie then know the real reason. I know you guys think it’s a bad idea and that I should just leave but I, I can’t. If I marry Mark, I feel like it gives me more time to figure everything out. He isn’t going to do anything that could possibly mess up my image of him anymore then it already has been and if I do I might be able to gain his trust back. So I know for a fact he won’t kill any of you guys, not before our wedding at least. I just need you all to keep the boys under control in the mean time.”
“I understand what you’re saying Y/n but I just...if you go through with marrying Mark, I’m worried that you’ll be stuck with him forever and we won’t be able to figure a way to solve anything,” Jihyo says, voicing her concerns.
“Maybe, but I think right now that’s our best bet.”
You all sit in silence, the weight of the situation falling upon everyone’s shoulders.
“So, what do you want us to tell the boys when we get home? I’m sure they’re going to be asking questions,” Lisa spoke up, breaking the silence.
“Mix a lie with the truth. Tell them that you met with Jihyo and I and tell them that I explained that I wasn’t changing my mind and that I don’t regret my choice. Just say that I confessed to knowing about plan awaken and that I’m in love with Mark. I don’t know, just say something like that.”
“And if Chan or any of them want to come and talk to you?”
“Have them go through Jihyo, and maybe I could meet up with them in secret. It might hit them a little harder if I say it to them in person. I think having Chan come would be the best bet because if he thinks I’m telling the truth then so will the rest of Stray Kids.”
“And what about us? Are we allowed to come visit you?” Jennie asked.
“I don’t know...Jihyo, if I said I was training with you once a week, do you think Mark would get suspicious? He did apologize to me today about the lack of space he’s been giving me so maybe he’ll be more willing to let me come here, no questions asked.”
“I think if you catch him on a good day and ask him the right way he wouldn’t mind.”
“Then I guess we can meet once a week maybe...but what about Stray Kids? Wouldn’t they catch on?” You question.
“Well to be fair, we still are under YG so they don’t know all of our business. For all they know we could just be going on a mission,” Jisoo comments.
“That’s true...well I’m down for that. This way you’ll be able to update me on things and vise versa.”
You glance over to the clock on the wall and nearly shit bricks when you see it 12:30.
“Oh shit he’s gonna kill me! How in the fuck did it even get so late so quickly? I don’t even have time to get sweaty to make it seem like I was training,” You rant as you begin to freak out.
“Just tell him that originally we were going to train but then we ended up just catching up on life or something, I don’t know but you better get a move on it before he comes down here,” Jihyo comments as she rushes to open the back door and let the other girls out.
After saying a quick goodbye, you sprint back up to your room. Once you make it to your bedroom door, you slowly open it, praying that Mark was asleep.
“You’re late.”
“I know, I’m sor-”
You stopped mid sentence as you taken in Mark’s appearance. It seemed like he just got out of the shower as his hair was wet and he only had black sweatpants on and a black silk robe that was left untied and opened, leaving his chest exposed. You still were getting used to see Mark like this, so whenever you did see him with his chest out in the open it always threw you off.
“Close your mouth before flies go in it,” He mumbles while taking a seat at the edge of the bed and crossing his arms.
“Fuck off,” you say as you feel your cheeks getting hot.
“You know, you’re going to have to get used to me walking around like this. We are getting married in case you forgot.”
“How could I forget,” You answer bitterly as you go to grab your pajamas to change.
“Don’t sound so excited.”
“Mark, I don’t feel like getting into this now. I’m tired and I just want to jump in the shower and go to bed.”
Not hearing him say anything else, you take a quick shower before going through your nightly routine and laying down on your side of the bed.
“Y/n?”
“What?”
“Are you cold?”
“I’m fine.”
“You sure?”
“Yes.”
“....”
“....”
“You know you might not be happy right now and you might feel like I’m ruining your life but I can promise you that one way or another I’m going to make you love me and I’m going to make you happy.”
“....”
“....”
“Goodnight Mark.”
“Goodnight.”

hi!! ♡ congratulations on 900 followers! 💖💖
Tumblr media
i’d love to participate in your cupid services if there’s still room! could i please be matched with enhypen or itzy! ♡ ♡ ♡ here’s a little description of me: i’m often the youngest of my friend groups, but people always tell me that i’m really mature. i’m not too sure where people get the idea from, but tons of my classmates that i don’t know all that well have come to me for advice before (mostly about their love lives, which is kind of ironic because i have absolutely no experience dating) most people i know often describe me as being really affectionate and bubbly… omg i sound so narcissistic 🤧 (i’m far from it actually lol…), but i’m most often called “nice” or “cute” by others, especially by classmates. although i’m not necessarily always super happy, everyone assumes that i am and it’s kind of become like my trademark by now. if i’m not smiling, it’s almost guaranteed that at least one person will come and ask me if i’m alright. it’s actually kind of bothersome actually lol. anyways i’m extremely clingy and i love LOVE 💖 affection so much!! if i knew someone fairly well (and they’re comfortable with it!), i almost always try to engage in some some sort of skinship like holding hands, hugging or linking arms! i’m also a bit of a crybaby, in fact i get emotional very easily. i think i cry maybe around 4-5 times a week… 🙈 i’m also the type of person who cares a lot about what others think of me. it’s kind of my complex (wait, did i use that correctly?), but also my motivation to improve myself. i really prioritize myself on being considerate to others and leaving a good impression on the people i’m around. because of that, i’m the type of person who overthinks everything. i really enjoy reading and singing! those are my two most favorite things to do (other than daydreaming and procrastinating on my hw)! i also am a huge foodie, i’m always baking sweets or trying new recipes! omg i think i rambled too much!! 😭 sorry for this super long ask, i hope i followed all the rules! anyways congratulations again on 900 followers and i hope you have a great day! ♡ ♡ ♡

[J U N E 2 0 2 0]
“COOKIN’ LIKE A CHEF I’M A FIVE STAR 미슐랭 "미"의 정점을 찍고 눈에 보여 ILLUSION!”
“Jesus Christ!” Ju Rin screams at all of you, yelling at the top of your lungs as you follow the lyrics and fanchant of the song. “The Hell’s wrong with you people?!”
Minjung giggles until she’s sobbing and rolling on the floor, So Eun and Gahyun take turns singing the lines of the different members while you get to your feet and stretch.
You’re about to head out the studio to the bathroom when Ju Rin calls out to you, casually jogging over to you by the door.
“Before I forget, Bang PD said he wanted to see you in his office tonight.”
The new information strikes an uncomfortable chord in you.
“What? Why? Did I do something-”
“No,” Ju Rin quickly shakes her head, hand coming to rest on your lower arm. “It’s time to make a decision. A real one,” She looks behind her shoulder and at the bunch of girls who were all younger than the both of you before turning back to you. “One that would be forged in your signature and last for the next 7 years.”
Ju Rin’s eyes hold worlds of both caution and wander. This is no longer just a game of “let me see how long more I can train before I think I’m ready”. It has become a fact that the company believes you’re ready, and now they’ll be presenting you with an opportunity of a lifetime. Something that you wouldn’t be able to reverse once you’ve agreed to it.
“He said that if you can’t give him an answer tonight, he’ll understand, but you still need to make a decision after all... So,” She pauses and rubs your upper arms. “Think carefully, and make your decision wisely. I don’t want you to walk into something you’d want to walk out of.”
You’re in the pantry of the floor where it was quieter than normal - TXT had a schedule that day and wouldn’t be spending the day in the studio. The chance of a lifetime’s sitting in the heart of your palms now, all you have to do is to pick up a pen and write your name down before the next 7 years of your life would be planned out for you.
You weren’t sure if you needed someone’s motivation or encouragement to well your bravery for tonight, but you knew for sure you just needed to know someone would be there for you.
You: Hey, call me when you’re free? I just... thought I should tell you something.
Sucking in a deep breath, you hit send and drop the phone back into your pocket. The ceramic mugs by the coffee machine calls out to you, and you run one under the tap when you feel the vibration in your pocket. A smile stretches across your face, pleasantly surprised at the speed of reaction now.
“That was quick,” You flick the mug, water droplets hurling back into the sink.
“What is it? Better be worth it, IN-ie just brought back some fried chicken and any longer I’ll- YAH! DON’T TOUCH MY SHARE!”
A sharp ring echoes through your right ear canal as you pull the phone away from your ear, “My God-”
“Yes,” The man returns to the line. “What was it you needed to tell me about?”
“Are you sure this is a good time?” You place your mug under the coffee machine nozzle and press the cappucino button. “I can call you back later-”
“No, no, it’s fine. We’re having our lunch break anyway. What’s wrong? You sound stressed.”
The steady stream of water, then coffee and milk creates a layer of foam in your mug.
“Ah... Let me guess - It’s the contract.”
“Mm,” The hum might’ve been overwhelmed by the sudden cough and whir of the machine, but it goes back to it’s gentle chittering as the stream slows to a few droplets.
“What are you worried about? You’ve already spent so much time training, not to mention building that bond with your members... Are you the only one that has yet to sign the contract?”
“No, they’re going by position and age. Ju Rin’s the only person who’s signed it and the rest don’t know yet.”
“Strange that you guys didn’t have the signing together.”
“Knowing Ju Rin, she probably wouldn’t have wanted that,” A pause as you process the thought of her being your leader. There was nobody else better to be it than her. “She wouldn’t have wanted anybody to sign it under pressure, so she probably suggested the individual signing to Bang PD instead.”
“Fair,” He pauses. “So, what now?”
“I don’t know.”
“’I don’t know’ doesn’t sound like a great response at this point of time.”
“I know... I just... What if... What if I’m not good enough, you know? What if I mess up along the way and Ju Rin or BigHit’s gotta clean up my shit?”
“Everybody messes up at some point or another. You’re gonna be under constant scrutiny, possibly apologise for things you don’t have to apologise for, but that’s just a small cost you need to pay for pursuing your dreams. You don’t get to paradise without riding the worst storms.”
You wrap your fingers around the ceramic of the cup, carefully pulling a sip of the foam onto your tongue.
“I can hear you, you know.”
“Sorry,” Licking the foam off your upper lip, you snicker to yourself and turn to the door of the pantry, the metallic frame of the doors showing you a version of yourself that you wouldn’t have recognised four years ago.
“Anyway, we both know you’ve already made your decision when you decided to stay for so long, and meet all your members. You’re only hesitating now because you’re afraid of mistakes, so if it makes you feel any better - which I know probably won’t - you will mess up, but it will be okay.”
“Great pep-talk,” You sneer into the receiver end of the phone. Minho’s laughter echoes through the line, and you can already picture his eyes turning into thick, dark lines as he smiles.
“I always be here, alright? Nothing to fear.”

“I’m not joking when I say I think Gahyun has a crush on Beom,” The drifting dried leaves on the floor crunch under your shoes as Minho turns to you, flicking a small twig out of your now blue-dyed hair. You just had your pre-debut photoshoot, and they were set to be released sometime in 2021.
“Should you be telling me this information?” Minho readjusts his beret, making it fit better on his head while he leads you around the corner and up the stairs to some secret back door.
“Repeating this information to a bunch of girls who already know this information gets boring. Don’t you guys have crushes on like - TWICE or ITZY or something?”
“Oh, that’s a deep grave to dig,” He pushes the door open without hesitation, the scent of grilled chicken and wine hitting you straight in the face.
“Aw, come on!” The whine is cut short when a waiter comes by to tend to you. It wasn’t a surprise when the waiter recognised him, even with all that disguise on. The restaurant was two floors worth, but only the first was open to the public. The second - specially reserved for idols.
Man, the things Dispatch would do to know this place exists and the people idols bring here.
“We’re serving the Christmas specials today because we know a lot of companies are letting idols go for an advanced holiday,” The waiter pulls out two menus from under the desk where you’ve stopped, turning around and gesturing for you to follow him. “I’ll be your waiter for today, so just call for me if you need me.”
“Alright, thank you.”
You offered the waiter a smile, forgetting that the mask was hiding it. The waiter bows and leaves the two of you alone in the corner of the room, allowing Minho to finally feel comfortable enough to remove his mask.
A gasp gets sucked through your throat when you remove your mask, eyes glued to the menu. “Tangerine grilled chicken and steak!”
Minho doesn’t bother to stifle the yawn that was coming out from his lungs, eyes halving into long lines.
“Are you allowed to drink?” You notice the drinks menu, nearly the entire page covered with some kind of beer, soju, wine or sake.
“I mean, I’m technically off work, and all those news sites don’t know this place exists so- as long as I’m not drunk, why not?”
“Very nice,” Scanning the list of alcohol, you decided Minho needed some outlet of release before he goes back to work - also known as being stressed 24/7.
Minho helped place your orders, and instead of the two glasses of wine you had initially wanted to order, he calls for an entire bottle of 1940 Chateau.
The waiter doesn’t seem at all bothered that the young idol was ordering a three-hundred-dollar bottle of alcohol, only focused on noting the food that was spewing off Minho’s tongue. The waiter then thanks the two of you, promising to return with the wine first before he leaves.
Leaning forwards across the table, your eyes frown at him. “Are you nuts? There’s no way we’re going to be able to finish that.”
Minho interlocks his fingers and rests his chin on them with his elbows perched on the surface of the table. “You underestimate me.”
An eyeroll finds you, snorting in exasperation before leaning back in your seat.
“I’m sorry for being busy recently. Pre-debut’s pretty tough.”
“I love how it took you three years before you understood that.”
You roll your eyes again.
“Anyway, how’s work? How are your members?”
“Ah- I bring you out for a nice meal and you repay me by asking me about how much money I earn? Eish-”
“Wha-” Hurling a pack of that alcohol wipes across the table, he snickered when it hits him and lands on the floor. “You’re really full of shit.”
Minho grins that gummy smile of his, pulling off his cap and ruffling his hair after picking up the pack of alcohol wipes. “Work’s fine. Mr Park Jin Young, however, suggested we do a 2PM cover during the SBS Gayo Daejeon festival at the end of the year.”
“2PM? Aren’t their concepts kinda... mature?” The utensils on the table garner your attention as Minho scans the message that popped up on his phone.
“Yeah, so guess what song we’re covering?”
You look up at the hint of pride in his voice, and his cheeks were cupped in his own hands, cutely staring at you.
A disgusted sneer finds your face and you pull one of his arms out from under him to stop the horrid sight. "Let me guess... Again and Again?"
"Wow, you're really good-"
"Aw, thanks-"
"At guessing the wrong answers.”
He flinches when you almost lunge forwards, fork in your grip.
"Why do I put up with you?"
"Because you love me too much to stop," His eyes are filled with playfulness, the kinds that you'd be able to recognise just by looking at his gaze.
"Ew," You don't take into consideration his choice of vocabulary, sitting back down in your seat when the bottle of wine comes. "Don't get too ahead of yourself."
Minho bites on his bottom lip to control the giggle that’s about to explode from his mouth, nodding subtly at the waiter so that he could get the bottle of wine open.
“Anyway, he suggested My House.”
Minho watched intently as your eyes double their original size, with the gentle gurgle of the wine being poured into the two glasses being the closest source of noise. He knows you’re about to burst out into some manic laughter, so he already has his lips tutted and and eyeroll ready to give himself a headache.
“My House?” You can feel your brows going so far up your forehead, it feels like you’re stretching the skin. “Park Jin Young wants a bunch of kids dancing to that song that’s about bringing a girl home and smashing? Ha!”
“Do you have nothing nice to say?”
“Says the one who just dissed me for giving wrong answers,” The waiter closes the wine bottle and places it into the ice bucket on the tray next to the table. Minho thanks the waiter, shaking his head as you take the glass and swirl the alcohol.
“I’ll let you win this one round,” He takes a sip from the wine. “So, I heard about the finalised line-up about your group.”
“Oh, that was a blast,” You offer a hearty laugh, memory unable to wipe away the visual of So Eun being crowned the ‘Centre’ of the group. Everyone had expected Gahyun, the Visual, to be the centre, and frankly, she hated it. So, it was all glitter and fireworks when it was announced Ga Eun be the center, essentially making her vice-Visual. You push your phone across the table, an unofficial and unpublished version of the BigHit website rolled up on the screen.
“Wang Ju Rin, Leader, Lead Vocalist, Sub-Rapper. l/n y/n, Main Dancer, Lead-Rapper, Sub-Vocalist. Choi Ga Hyun, Lead Vocalist, Lead Rapper, Lead Dancer, Visual,” He pauses. “Ga Hyun sounds like a Han Jisung.”
“I see he’s your favourite member today.”
Glaring at you, he takes his time to return to the screen. “Kang So Eun, Main Rapper, Lead Dancer, Sub-Vocalist, Center. Gwang Min Jung, Main Vocalist, Lead Rapper, maknae,” He slides the phone back to you. “Remind me how old the rest are again, besides you and Ju Rin?”
“Gahyun and So Eun are 2001 liners but Min Jung is a 2003 liner.”
“Lovely age gap,” He shakes his head. “Then again IN debuted when he was 16 so I guess...”
“Funny how I was 16 when I was scouted,” You place the fork down, suddenly pulling the atmosphere down with you.
“You talk about this as if you can erase that signature on that contract.”
“No, don’t get me wrong, I know I don’t regret it. I just-” A pause to collect your thoughts. “What else would I be doing other than this, you know? University? Working in some shoddy cafe?”
“What are you- writing a narrative for yourself now?”
“Jesus Christ, will you shut up for once in your life and let me finish my piece-”

The manager for Stray Kids was busy sheltering you and a few other guests that the members themselves had chosen to be invited to the Gayo Daejeon Festival before the year ended.
TXT was already in the building rehearsing and your trainee-members would be coming later nearer to their performance.
Rain peltering against the black umbrella, the staff struggles to keep you and the other guests out of sight, though you've already been warned by the person who invited you to come in sunglasses and a mask. (Not that it was legal to walk around without one now anyway).
You've met the members’ siblings before, so the situation inside the vehicles were more than comfortable. The staff at SBS hands all of you visitor passes, with your name and the name of the person who invited you printed on the tag. The manager brings the group of you into the studio where the stage was set up, just in time to watch Stray Kids perform a practice round - this time, a cover of 2pm's My House.
"Wah!" Seungmin's sister exclaims and covers her mouth (as if her mask wasn't already doing the job), her free hand landing on your shoulder. "What is Lee Know even wearing?"
It hasn't even caught your attention, because you were so preoccupied with their voice checks. But you heed her advice and search for Minho on stage, eyes falling on someone back-facing you with a half-assed view of his back covered with a miserable layer of net.
"Someone’s stylist felt cheeky today," Laughing under your breath, Seungmin's sister gently nudges you as a response. Minho was fixing his earpiece when his eyes start wandering, and even in the bad lighting off the stage, he could still spot you.
He's waving like he hasn't seen you in months, though you just met him a few weeks ago when his CEO had given them an advanced Christmas weekend vacation.
“Okay, take a fifteen minute break! Can I get I*ZONE, THE BOYZ, Jessi to get ready?”
The members bow and thank the camera men and the director of the event, most of them waving to their guests standing around you. Minho looks to you and waves subtly, sweat sticking his brown hair to his forehead as his breathing calms.
Right now, Minho was doing nothing besides making snot-faces at the camera with that stupid inner-netting piece he’s got that exposes his back.
Sickening, but he knows it works in his favour.
“Everyone in places! We’re filming your fancams for this one too but keep your eyes on the main cameras!”
The members yell out scattered “yes”es and return to their positions, fingers fixing their fits and microphones. The music starts, and you decide you’ll probably never ever get sick of how the whole group is able to snap into professionalism. But of course, your eyes still naturally gravitate to Minho.
He told you over test that he had been given the chorus -- something that his CEO has never really considered. (Minho wasn’t a great vocal; he was more commendable in his dance techniques but he’ll never improve if he’s never given the chance, right?)
You suck your lips between your teeth when you notice his anxiety gets the better of him, and he messes up in the chorus choreography just as he sings “10분 뒤에 저 앞에서.”
He’s definitely going to get annoyed over this mistake later.
Changbin's sister cannot contain the scream that emits out from her when you are let into the Stray Kids’ dressing room. Jeongin rushes to his little brother, hoping to pull him into a headlock. One of the stylists was busy helping Minho remove his blazer belt when he notices you standing behind him in the mirror.
But before he can greet you, Seungmin rushes to your side along with his sister, who drags you away to look at some special edition Stray Kids merchandise sitting in the corner of the room. You shoot Minho a slightly apologetic look, allowing Seungmin's sister to pull you across the room to study the albums and photocards you would probably receive by the end of the year anyway.
Seungmin's sister gushes about the design of the albums, Christmas themed and all with a rather recent and unseen group photoshoot of the group. So it doesn't take long before she's completely occupied in staring at Chan's picture in the album, and Jisung takes the opportunity to strike up a conversation with you.
“Hey! I finally got to meet you properly, I’m sorry I couldn’t greet you well back when you visited with Yeonjun hyung.”
“Oh, no,” You place the album back to the table and turn to Jisung. “It’s fine. I hope the fruit basket was good.”
“It was great, actually. Chan made a fruit salad out of it,” Jisung shoves his hands into his pockets. Your eyes can’t help but glance around the room, and you catch Minho’s eyes flitting away from you and Jisung in the reflection of the mirror he’s staring at.
“So, how are the shots? Pretty cool, huh?”
Your eyes follow his hands that reach for the albums that are still sitting comfortably on the surface. “Yeah, of course. Was it shot in a pre-made studio or was the lounge already set up like that? Colors are pretty.”
“It was a lounge, actually. Downtown in Gimpo. They had a cafe nearby too, and the food’s great. I was wondering if you’d like to-”
"Yah," Throwing his arm around Jisung’s shoulders, Minho was now changed out into a loose, black tank top. Your eyes gravitate down to where his skin is usually covered, but Jisung's sly smirk at you forces you to roll your eyes away instead.
"Oh, yes, Lino hyung?" Jisung has the widest grin on his face as he happily pulls Minho into a hug, even resting his head on Minho's shoulder. It's a strange sight, seeing Jisung suck his lips between his teeth. Better yet, Minho had the most confused look on his face just seconds before he shoved Jisung off him.
“You’re an absolute disgrace,” Minho shakes his head and winces in disgust. “There are better ways to ask someone out, and the first step is to ask the right person out.”

Vernon stepped out into the open, finding himself on the highest level of the Helicarrier—not the top floor, but the deck itself.
The wind was strong, pushed by the rotator blades keeping the carrier in the air, and he shivered on feeling the sudden chill descend upon him. He hesitated, resting his palm against the side of one of the structures containing the blades, and glanced around. The aircraft was massive, big enough that despite being right next to the Quinjet runway, he couldn’t see any of the city beneath.
When he finally spotted White Tiger, she was sitting near the edge, mask in hand. At first, he was apprehensive about her being spotted, but when he got close enough, he realized they were way to high for anyone on the ground to be able to make out her features.
New York was easily a couple thousand feet below them, the tallest buildings looking like toy figurines from the high vantage point. The harbor glittered a dark blue-green underneath them, catching the dying light of the sunshine like little stars contained in the water. It was a breathtaking sight, so beautiful that it washed away Vernon’s initial fear as easily as a wave clearing away dug letters on a sandy beach.
He glanced at Yeji, pressing his teeth against his lower lip. She had her back to him, shoulders tensed—of course she would have heard him approach. Her hair was still up in a ponytail, but swayed lightly with the breeze. Even as he stood behind her, she said nothing, remaining silent and stony as she stared down at the view below.
“It’s nice up here,” he murmured. “Unless you have a crippling fear of heights, that is.”
Silence.
Vernon sighed to himself, slowly taking a seat next to her on the sun-heated deck, and pulled off his mask. The air was cool against his sweat-soaked skin, but did nothing to set his heart at ease. That was the hard part, one he had to figure out himself.
“So, White Tiger, huh?” he asked, scrunching up his nose as he looked at her sideways. Her chin rested on her folded forearms, which were balanced against her knees, legs crossed at the ankles. It should have been a relaxed posture, but her muscles were too tense, standing out like steel cables on her arms and sides. “Do your powers have anything to do with that jade amulet you wear?”
She unfolded herself, unconsciously touching the amulet that hung from one side of her gray belt. It was a vibrant green color, looking fragile like glass, but despite her generally offensive style of fighting, there wasn’t a single scratch on it. “It was my father’s,” she answered dully. “And my grandfather’s before him. The amulet is a family heirloom that passed down to me when the rest of my family died, and with it, the powers it bestows upon the bearer.”
“Oh,” he said, a little surprised. He hadn’t expected her to speak, but she had opened up, despite the still guarded tone of her voice. He pulled his knees up to his chest and looked out at the view, feeling calmer than before, but also a lot more awkward. “Are you afraid of the water?”
She glanced over at him, a confused scowl on her face. “What?”
“The water,” he repeated, indicating the harbor with a tilt of his head. “Aren’t cats supposed to be scared of water or something?”
Her eyes narrowed, but not before he caught the glimmer of amusement in them. “I’m not a cat,” she said. “The amulet gives me the agility and tenacity of a white tiger, but not all its fears. Are you afraid of house lizards, spider boy?”
“Well, one in particular.” He half-smiled. “But he’s back to human now, so I guess not really.”
She gave him a small smile back, one that indicated she got the joke. It wasn’t a big gesture, but it made him feel a bit better—which was funny, since he was the one supposed to be comforting her. He recalled Luce’s words from their earlier conversation. There’s no harm in being decent.
“Look,” he started, reaching up to rub the side of his neck, “I’m sorry about what I said back there. You said you knew I didn’t like you guys, but that’s not true. It’s just—it’s a sudden change,” he mumbled. “To have a whole team of supers in the school, and so soon after the—incident, it just set me off.”
She said nothing, waiting for him to continue. He shook his head. “You probably don’t know what happened a few weeks ago, and what happened, it’s not your fault. Heck, it doesn’t even have anything to do with you.” He laughed weakly. “The incident that took place, it followed a regular pattern I already should have known. When superhero stuff and real life mix, nothing good comes out of it. I wasn’t prepared for you guys, and I took it badly. I shouldn’t have taken it out on you.”
Yeji hummed. For a few moments, they sat in silence, but it was a comfortable sort of silence. For Vernon, it felt good to get all of that off his chest. It was hard to admit to something because of his pride, but putting it out there made him feel a bit better. No one liked seeing their faults, but to him, it was better than hurting someone he didn’t really want to hurt. In a way, even the superheroes around him were innocent people who could become collateral damage.
“What incident?” she asked.
He glanced at her, a little confused. She stared back at him with her eyebrows arched, as if expecting him to say something. “Sorry, what?”
“I told you about my family, how I came to be in possession of my powers,” she said. “Your turn. What incident were you talking about?”
He bit the inside of his cheek, staring at her thoughtfully. “Do you know Harry Osborn?” he asked at length.
She nodded. “The Goblin—I mean, Norman Osborn’s son.” She gave him a curious look. “Wasn’t he at Midtown with you?”
“Yeah.” He looked away again, studying the lenses of his mask. Speaking about it was difficult, and he wasn’t too sure about instantly opening up about such a horrific incident to someone he had met two days ago, but his instinct told him he could trust White Tiger. Either way, there was no harm in talking about that day, at least not the general aspects of it. “And you probably also know about how Norman Osborn was taken down.”
She nodded again, slower this time, looking thoughtful. “Wasn’t there a bargaining chip of some kind involved?” she asked. “Wait, sorry. I meant a human hostage.”
“Yeah,” Vernon murmured. He hung his head, running his spandex-covered fingers over the cloth of his mask, swallowing hard against the sudden dryness in his throat, but it hurt to do that, like there was a thorn stuck in his flesh. “Long story short, Harry Osborn…well.”
Yeji glanced at him in surprised concern, and he looked away, avoiding her gaze. Now would come the pitying glance, the awkward condolences, the unsure silence. He had had enough of that in the past few weeks.
“I get it,” she said, to his immense surprise. When he looked back at her, her eyes were sad, but there was a firmness beneath them, like stable ground at the bottom of the river. Even if she didn’t quite know all the details, they both spoke the language of loss, and it didn’t need words to be understood.
“You don’t have to say anything,” he said.
“I won’t.” She turned her face away, towards the sky, and he followed suit. The silence this time was more than comfortable, it was comforting. “No more details?”
Despite himself, he smiled. “Not yet,” he replied. “You have to get past level twenty first.”
She snorted a laugh. “I don’t really play video games,” she answered. “It’s a little difficult to fit in when you live in the same quarters as a couple of teenage boys, but I can’t do anything about it.”
“Really? You can drop by after school sometimes and I’ll show you.” He grinned, then grimaced. “Or maybe Aunt May can. I’m not the best at them, she kicks my butt on Night game night every time.”
“She sounds amazing already. I can’t wait to meet her,” Yeji said, smiling. “And while we’re on the subject of family—argh, I’m totally going to sound like Agent Fox, but here’s the thing.” She shifted her weight, sitting with her legs crisscrossed. “I know it’s hard to deal with loss, and that it’s different for everybody, but protectors feel guilt on a different level than everybody else—and you can’t carry that kind of weight around with you.”
Vernon picked at a small cut on the leg of his costume. “Agent Fox,” he repeated. “You too, huh?”
Yeji winced. “Therapists aren’t really equipped to deal with our kind of experiences,” she said. “I mean, what do you say to someone who had to physically fight their best friend’s dad because he turned into a genetically enhanced green monster?”
He laughed.
“Agent Fox might not be your best bet, but there are other things you can try,” she continued. “I know you probably don’t want some kind of preachy advice, but for me, being White Tiger helped.” She ran her fingers along the grooves of her amulet again, as if deriving comfort through its touch. “Doing something, even little things that just keep your mind off the past, it helps.”
He thought back to Luce’s words. “Like getting a job?”
Yeji frowned. “I guess,” she said. “If it doesn’t take over your time as Spider-Man, that is.”
“That’s twice in a day someone’s advised me to get a job,” he said. “Maybe I really should go ahead and get one.”
“Maybe you should,” she agreed. “But I have a feeling most normal jobs won’t interest you. If you’re going to work, might as well work on something you’ll enjoy.”
“Don’t worry,” he said, the gears of his brain already having been kicked into action. “I think I already have something in mind.”
Tumblr media
The last time Vernon had met Dr. Curt Connors, it had been as Spider-Man.
It was not an experience he had particularly enjoyed, since it had been one of his bigger fights had had left him with a hairline fracture and a few bruised ribs, holed up in his room for a week to nurse himself. Gym had been worse than usual that Tuesday.
As he pushed through the revolving doors at the entrance of Roxxon Industries, he was already beginning to regret his decision a little bit. Sure, there was no way that Dr. Connors could know his secret alter ego, but the knowledge didn’t help his nervousness one bit.
Plus, with Oscorp pretty much in ruins, the research scientist had shifted his work to a different corporation, and Vernon didn’t know his way around the new building at all. It was a tiny thing to be so worried about, especially for a person who had faced Doc Ock at the age of sixteen, but even the little things seemed big now that he was out job hunting.
Vernon clutched his father’s briefcase tighter, taking his visitor’s pass from the front desk and heading up the escalator to the designated room. Dr. Connors had met Vernon Parker exactly once before, when the latter had shown up at his old laboratory asking about his father, Richard Parker, Connors’s former colleague.
Back then, their conversation had been cut short by a Spidey emergency, and after that the only time he’d been able to see the doctor was while battling him as the Lizard. Vernon had been too afraid to go back afterwards, scared of the decades old formula Connors had developed which turned him into the monster, and what he might discover about his father’s work.
But Dr. Connors had made him a proposal that the boy remembered three months later—that Vernon was always welcome to come work at his lab. Now, the idea of being a simple research assistant didn’t sound very great, especially when the project was so controversial that its funding had been hanging by a thread even at Oscorp, where they weren’t exactly known for their safe experiments. However, biophysics had always been fascinating to him, not to mention the fact that it was his father’s legacy.
He guessed it was about time he went back to claim it.
Vernon stood in front of the door awkwardly, unsure what he was going to say. But he lifted his hand, and he knocked.
“Come in,” came the doctor’s voice from behind the door, and Vernon took a deep breath before pushing the door open and stepping inside.
The room was bigger than he had expected it to be. It definitely wasn’t just an office, with multiple tables and various small instruments and charts held down by random objects acting as paper weights spread across them. Tall shelves lined the wall behind the main desk and the one opposite it, stuffed with old and new volumes. The doctor’s table itself was pushed into a corner to make way for everything else, but despite the packed space, everything was organized. It was a pattern Vernon knew from his own room: order in chaos.
Dr. Connors was standing behind his desk, reading through a paper on a clipboard in his hand. He looked up as Vernon entered, and a range of emotions flashed through his eyes when he saw him—first confusion, then recognition, then fear, then guilt. Finally, the doctor smiled, straightening as he placed the board back on his table.
“Vernon,” he said, and Vernon felt a thrill upon seeing that he remembered his name. “A face I haven’t seen in a long time.”
“Yeah, sorry about that.” Vernon tried to press his lips into a smile, but it probably looked more like a grimace. “I would have come by earlier, but what with midterms and everything happening in the city…” He hesitated. “I was just a little afraid, I guess.”
“I understand,” Dr. Connors said, and it wasn’t just an empty phrase, like he actually understood Vernon’s fear of facing his father’s past. But then, maybe he did. “I would have liked to see you again after our conversation was cut short, but perhaps a few months’ lapse in between was necessary.”
Vernon thought back to the Lizard incident a couple of months ago, when Dr. Connors had injected himself with an underdeveloped serum, turning himself into a giant lizard. “I read your recent article on the lizard formula,” he said slowly.
The doctor’s hand froze on the table for a moment, but relaxed just as quickly. He looked up at Vernon with a gentle sort of intelligence in his eyes, a look so different from the Lizard’s that he had trouble believing they could be the same person. “Did you, now?” he asked. “And what did you think of it?”
“Genius,” he breathed, and Dr. Connors’s eyes lit up even more. “I looked through my dad’s old papers, and cross-checked the changes with your research.” He opened his mouth and closed it again. Better get this over with quickly. “I know this must seem abrupt, but I wanted to ask you something.”
“Go on.” Dr. Connors inclined his head, gesturing at a seat with his good arm. The other one ended up to just above the elbow—a sight that reminded Vernon that it was the doctor himself who had been the first human trial for his cross-species grafting formula.
“The last time we met, you asked me to come work with you in your lab,” Vernon spoke slowly, hesitating between words. “And when I read your paper, I saw that you would continue to research further on the gene splicing and the, uh, the blood-brain barrier and—” He cut himself off, realizing that he had begun to ramble. “I was wondering, after last time, if you could—”
“Take you on in my lab for the research?” Dr. Connors completed his question for him, positively beaming. “Of course! Your father was a genius, and you follow in his stead. It would be a great advantage to have you on the team.” His smile faltered a little. “And then, even after all these years, I owe him my life and its work,” he added in a lower voice. “I’d be glad to have you.”
“Really?” Vernon looked at him with rounded eyes, clutching the case tightly enough that the skin of his knuckles paled. “I—wow. Thanks, Dr. Connors.”
Dr. Connors shook his head. “There will always be a place for Richard Parker’s son at my lab,” he said. “If you’re free, I could show you around the lab now, just so you get the feel of the place. Unless, of course, you’re busy right now, in which case you could swing by later.”
Vernon laughed, relieved and gratified and ridiculously happy. “I have all the time in the world.”
“Great,” Dr. Connors said. “When can you start?”

Twisted Wonderland Guys As Kpop Songs I Listen To Too Much + Why
i’ma just say it now, i primarily listen to girl groups since I cover songs and they are in my range and i find them fun to cover most so expect a lot of those.
All songs are linked!!
Scarabia
Jamil
- Lucifer by SHINee || First and foremost I can see him performing this, easily. Aside from that, the song is tasty and classic. Jamil is a smart attractive man that is incredibly talented despite flying under the radar. People know of him but don’t take note until they know him, similarly to this song. It goes hard and you’ve probs heard it mentioned but you haven’t experienced until you played it at 3 am, screaming your heart out. Get to know Jamil and he ain’t just “some guy”
Kalim
- Um Oh Ah Yeh by MAMAMOO || This song reminds me of the 90s/2000s and there’s something about Kalim that also does that for me. Maybe it’s the not a care in the world disposition. I can see and feel in the second verse’s rap, Kalim’s warm smile. I can imagine him grabbing my hand, telling me to chin up. The choruses make me think of simpler times. Finally, Kalim seems like he’s always having a good time just like this song
Ignihyde
Ortho
- Candy Pop by TWICE (yes i know its jp) || This song always puts me in a good mood. It makes me feel warm inside and like everything will work out. When I see Ortho, I feel the need to protect him but also can’t help but feel like everything will be okay. Something about him brings a happy, warm peace to my heart that reminds me to just take a moment and find the good in life. The peppy beat of it just makes me think about how he almost always is smiling!
Idia
- Fairy of Shampoo by TOMORROW X TOGETHER || the song starts an I feel as if I’ve awoken floating in the deep sea, but i’m not scared. I feel at peace and as if I’ve been here before. The song tastes like iced tea and feels like nostalgia. When I look at Idia I see my past self and even present self. I’m afraid, I want to hide. The feelings the verses gives me reminds me of laying in bed, curled up in a jacket that hides my whole body, similarly to Idia’s. The song and Idia’s character call out to a nostalgic but soft side to a distant past I can’t recall. I want to stay with them until I can remember
Savanaclaw
Leona
- gogobebe by MAMAMOO || It’s got a lazy but sexy sound that Leona emboides. When the song picks up in the choruses it’s like it takes over your body, drowning the listener in an ocean of sensuality and playful teasing. It’s got a lil edge though too that caters to the gruff “fuck off” expression he has. I see the noise Hwasa makes at the end as the wanton but confused noise fans make as the man leaves, tail swinging after teasing them
Ruggie
- BAAM by Momoland || BAAM has such a sassy hyped up beat that screams a bitch that gets shit done, owns who they are, and lives life having fun. And it embodies everything I feel upon seeing Ruggie's smug smile. Even the rap bit during the second chorus has the sass and done-ness of “Leona-san! Get up!!”
Jack
- Bomb by AleXa || This song kicks your ass and so does Jack. Don’t for four seconds think he won’t beat the shit outta ya for underestimating him, similarly to AleXa and her music. The energy and the “I’ll show you” vibes remind me of this big dweeb. I would fear this man but turn to love him much like how I felt about this song as it was this artist’s first song. How do I say they just embody each other in my opinion lol
Pomefiore
Vil
- DUN DUN by Everglow || The sass. This song screams THAT BITCH, just like Vil’s everything. The way he carries himself is personified in this song. The power the song holds reminds me of his unique magic and how intense it is. Finally, the slower bridge is mythical and light as if giving the listener a feeling like they are walking on air and plays to the softer and more feminine side of Vil
Rook
- FINGERTIP by GFriend || Everything about this song is exciting. It’s suspenseful and alluring. If this song was a person, I could clear as day see it winking, whispering “chase me.” And that is exactly Rook’s brand of teasing and games. He’s a hunter but he’s got a charming aura to him still. This song wraps both of those things into it. The dance break is Rook’s darker senses personified. Umji’s lil “OW!” is he’s cute lil remarks in french, throwing you off now and then. But by the end of the song, you’re used to them and adore them
Epel
- Crossroads by GFriend || This song feels like a long lost friend that visits you in dreams. You can practically reach out to them but just as you do, you wake up. But you’re determined. That alone reminds me of Epel’s character as a whole. He doesn’t let his cute appearance push aside his wants and needs to be this tough guy. He, like Yuju’s strong vocals at the last chorus, presses on, determined each time he gets knocked down
Diasomnia
Lilia
- Deja Vu by Dreamcatcher || Maybe I’m biased cause I’ve covered this but this song is breathtaking. The melody speaks of a long road and the fight to keep on which I feel rings true for Lilia. We don’t know his true age but it’s clear he’s been around for quite a wild and the pain he’s probably gone through is unspeakable. He has stories galore and so much experience in life. I feel this song encapsulates a lot of what can only be speculated about him
Silver
- Crème Brûlée by GFriend || the soft, sweet song is addictive and cutesy. I feel Silver gets written off or ignored often, similarly to this song on the album. Sure he may not be god or a bad bad bitch, but he has his own warmth to him. Like this song, Silver makes me wanna curl up under a tree on an August evening and just take in life, making sure to breathe for once, releasing unnecessary tension and stress.
Sebek
- Black Dress by CLC || Sebek is very interesting to me and when he blushes, my whole heart stops for a second. It’s similar to how when they build up to the chorus‘s first Black Dress and the music stops for like a split second. Sebek isn’t my favorite but isn’t my least favorite. I like him more than some though, I’d say. I’d say the same goes for this song. I love CLC, this isn’t my top song of theirs but I still like it a lot. There’s something uniform about the beat that resounds with Sebek as getting shit done in mind also. Sometimes a song just makes you think of a character and you can’t perfectly explain it
Malleus
- Pretty Savage by BLACKPINK || Yes i know t’s only recently come out as i post this, but this bad boy on replay. The beat isn’t crazy upbeat but it’s interesting. Malleus intidimates me in general cause of his aura, and while I love this song a lot rn, it was very intimidating at first. It still has some “don’t come near me” energy. The slower bridge bit calls to his stoic expression, melodic and pretty
Heartslabyul
Cater
- ICY by ITZY || I’ll be honest both Cater as well as this song were things I thought at first were just meh, okay. But as time went on both grew on me. Now that’s not the only reason though I associate this with him. The, no pun intended, ice shattering sound of the song gives me friendly popular girl that seems to be buds with 80% of the school. This is the very vibe Cater always gives me. He wants to just have a good, happy life. Also the song is a “so what? I’m hot. Get over it.” vibe like Cater
Ace
- Drama by TOMORROW X TOGETHER || Ace reminds me the guy you fall in love with in high school and you no it’s not going to last but you let yourself get taken away with. Drama feels like a soundtrack of every fun adventure Ace goes on, no matter the trouble that he may get on. It’s fun beat just brings me back to skipping school, running to my car and trying to sneak away without getting caught. The thought of Ace at my side, would shoot my adrenaline through the roof just like the high note of the song
Deuce
- God’s Menu by Stray Kids || Deuce is just ready to go swinging and that’s exactly what this song is. Elbows up and out, head down, swinging without a clue. The intensity and fire of it speaks to that fire in him. Meanwhile the prechoruses are soft and pleasant almost like it’s not the same song, alluding to that cute lil smile he has got
Trey
- REALLY REALLY by WINNER || Similarly to Ace, this song reminds me of a guy you fall for, but in college rather than high school. Everything about the song and Trey just feels right. The choruses hold your hand and fits perfectly in yours. They know what to say to make everything okay. It may not last, but you sure hope it does and will love them like it will. And while Trey isn’t my number one boy, those are the exact feelings I have about him too. Finally, the rap part reminds me of Trey’s more sadistic side, it bites and you may not think it fits entirely but the more familiar you get with them, the more both fit and you don’t mind it entirely
Riddle
- Wonderland by ATEEZ || The demanding nature of the song makes me think of Riddle immediately. It’s intense and doesn’t mess around; it wants what it wants. Riddle is a rule based person and this song is rather militaristic aesthetically. The bridge though, is so regal and breathtaking. It could stop time. Riddle, despite the kind of guy he is, is the same way. The power he holds is impressive and admirable. This description may seem kinda like I’m shitting on him and see him solely as a rule boy, but like this song, I have made respect for him and wouldn’t want to cross him
Octavinelle
Azul
- Love Battery by Hong Jin Young but performed by LOONA on Immortal Songs || This arrangement of the song has a certain magic to it that I melt in. At the very beginning as the build up singing ‘dangsineun’ i feel like I’m being submerged in a wave, reaching to shake Azul’s hand, signing a contract. The choruses remind me of his smile, how distant but inviting it is. Daring me to fall for him. The dance break bridge reminds me of the intense eyes behind those glasses
Jade
- Love Shot by EXO || This song and Jade are both things I am fearful of but greatly intrigued by. They share a scary beat and energy that says I fear you more when you’re smiling. Please stop slowly walking towards me, you’re scaring me. But at the very same time, the choruses keep me around like how pretty I find this twin. The combo of put together, intellectual friend but could kill easily and without remorse sends shivers down my spine if I think about it for too long. The chorus of this song make me shake my shoulders that suppress a shiver each time
Floyd
- WEE WOO by Pristin || I love both Floyd and WEE WOO. The song is the feeling you get going 85 down the highway. Both song and Floyd, get me excited. They feel like the weekend. That feeling of coming home Friday during high school, tossing your bookbag down, and getting ready to hang out with your best friend. It’s a relieving and exciting feeling. It’s a peppy beat that bites during the harmonies a bit. Just like Floyd. Peppy, fun, but ain’t afraid to take a lil nibble

Tumblr media
“Okay. You can do this” you told yourself.
You were sitting in your car in your brand new school's parking lot, your thoughts getting louder as the only sound heard was the AC. Even the simple task of parking your car seemed like a huge hurdle, as busy groups of teenagers hung out around their friends’ cars.
It was just your luck, your mother’s job making you move yet again after five years in sunny Miami. You couldn’t help but be heartbroken as you left your friends behind, packing up your room for the nth time and hitting the road. But, of course, it was just one year. Your senior year was before you and you couldn’t wait to be out of the house and in college sooner rather than later.
With one last breath, you pushed your thoughts to the back of your mind, picking up your backpack from the passenger seat and walking out of your car. Your new school loomed over you, the building looking extremely intimidating as you stood in front of it. Your fist was tightly wrapped around a piece of paper filled with instructions that the school had provided you with.
So, the first item on your check list was finding your locker. The number was D-31, but you worried over how you’d manage to find it. The small map on your hands provided little help, so you would have to settle for your luck. Walking up the steps, you entered the building only to find it bustling with people. Loud voices were heard from every direction, students trying to find each other in the hallways and people walking back and forth.
You sighed, eyes desperately trying to find an indication as to where to look for your locker. You decided to go further inside and try your luck there. The hallways seemed to you like a puzzle, one you desperately wanted to solve. You passed by other students who paid you no mind, longing to meet with their friends after the long summer break.
You too, longed for your best friend, Yeji, to be there. You wished you could’ve taken her with you, for being without her left you feeling bare and lonely. You shook those thoughts away, your nails instinctively burying themselves to the flesh of your palm, half-moons of pain helping you regain your focus. It was no use thinking about things you couldn’t help.
At that moment, your eyes met with the indicator for hallway D. Your heart picked up at your chest, finding this small silver lining the highlight of your day. You quickly located your locker, D-31 and rushed to unpack your backpack, which was overflowing with textbooks. There would be time to decorate later, but for now, your mind was set in leaving your books and getting to English.
You were still stacking your books when you felt your phone buzz in the pocket of your jacket. With a glance at your phone’s screen, you were met with your brother’s face and you didn’t hesitate to pick up the call.
   “Hey, ‘Hak,” you said.
“Well if it isn’t the new girl! How are you little one? How was moving? Sorry I couldn’t be there” your brother said, talking quickly.
“Geonhak I swear I hate being the new girl so much. It took me like ten minutes just to find my locker! Ugh, I can’t believe you’ve left me all alone” you whined into the phone.
“Sorry little one, but I’m trying to get an education here? You know so I can possibly work and make money one day?” he teased you.
“Yeah right, just say that you couldn’t get your hands off that new girl of yours and let’s get it over with. I know you have no time for your baby sister anyways” you teased him in return.
“Look, I’m going to be there next week, alright? Just hang in there for a little while.” he said, his tone turning serious.
“I know, ‘Hak. I’ll be just fine, don’t worry” you reassured him.
With a few last words, you ended the call, shoving your phone back in your jacket’s pocket and facing your locker once again. You had placed the map of the school somewhere in your binder in a hurry and now, you couldn’t find it. Typical.
Just then, you felt someone lean on the locker next to yours. You paid no mind, still focused on the task at hand, only sparing the boy a few glances through your peripheral vision.
“You’re the new girl, aren’t you?” he asked, a gummy smile lighting up his face.
You were stunned, looking at him wide eyed. How..?
“Is it that obvious?” You asked him.
“No! Not at all. I’m just- I’m Han Jisung, the class president? The secretary told me that this would be your locker” the boy, no, Jisung, told you.
Your mouth formed an ‘oh’ at his explanation and you nodded your head. You introduced yourself too, shaking his hand to top it all off. Jisung was still smiling, which caused a smile to spread on your face as well. You instantly felt better now that you at least knew someone’s name.
“Can I take a look at your timetable?” Jisung asked.
“Uhm, sure, but why?” you asked, already fumbling with the papers to find your timetable.
“You’ll see.” Jisung said, taking your timetable off of your hands.
His eyes made quick work of the small board, as he fumbled his pockets for something. He finally found what he was looking for, taking out a pen from his pocket. He unclasped the lid, holding it between his teeth as he circled certain classes on your schedule.
You stood in silence as you watched him, still not quite sure what was happening. Once he was done, he put the pen back into one of his pockets and turned to face you.
“Well we’re not sharing too many classes but at least it’s something. Let’s get you to English now, shall we?” Jisung asked.
Having connected the dots, you took your timetable back, shoving it inside your locker before installing your new lock. With a small nod at Jisung to indicate you’re ready, you were off.
You noticed that Jisung was good at making small talk and you were grateful to see that he was content to do all the talking as you simply nodded or provided small input to his train of thought. You finally arrived at your classroom and Jisung was quick to say goodbye.
“I’m going to run off to Chem. See you later Y/N!” Jisung said, waving goodbye at you.
You were left to enter the classroom by yourself, so you did just that. Only a few people were in the classroom already, which left you much room to pick your seat. You chose a seat in one of the middle rows and next to the window, settling down quickly as more and more people started pouring in the classroom.
A boy took the seat next to yours, pointing at his friend to take the seat in front of him. You spared glances at them, too shy to say hello. As they sat down, their chairs scratched the floor, making you wince at the sound. The boy next to you noticed your discomfort, offering you an apologetic smile.
   “Sorry” he mouthed to you.
You nodded, giving him a shy smile back. He was about to introduce himself when the teacher walked in, causing the room to grow silent. When taking attendance, you learned that the boy’s name was Lee Felix, making a small note in your mind for his name. The teacher then used your first meeting to walk you through the syllabus for his class.
When the teacher announced you’ll have a big group project, you felt yourself sigh. You should’ve expected it, and yet you found yourself completely unprepared. Your leg bounced up and down as you got increasingly more nervous, your head already picturing your failure. That’s when you heard a whisper come from the boy next to you.
“Hey, Y/N, wanna group with us?” Felix asked.
You smiled at him, nodding your head and feeling a wave of relief wash over you. Felix beamed at you in return, returning his attention to the teacher. The rest of the lesson flew by, the loud ringing of the bell making you jump in your seat. You chuckled at yourself, hurrying to pick up your things and get to your next class.
“Y/N?” Felix asked from beside you.
   “Yeah?” you answered.
“Can I have your number? Or maybe your insta? You know, for the project?” he asked.
“Sure” you replied, taking his phone off of his hands and adding yourself on his Instagram and his contacts.
“What’s your next class?” he asked as you both exited the classroom together.
“Algebra I think, I have to check though, I have the memory of a goldfish” you joked.
Felix chuckled, nodding his head in understanding.
“Ugh, Algebra it is. My least favourite subject” you whined.
“Same here. What am I supposed to do with all this stuff?” Felix said with a laugh. “Good thing we’ll be together there too! I’ll grab some books from my locker and I’ll see you there?”
You nodded at him, a smile lighting up your face. Maybe making friends wouldn’t be as hard as you thought after all.
----------------------------------------------------------
Jisung was sitting on top of the table at the cafeteria, Hyunjin and Seungmin sitting on either side of him, talking about one thing or the other. His eyes were trained up front, watching the doors that led to the cafeteria closely and waiting for you to walk in. He took lazy bites off of his sandwich despite not feeling too hungry at the moment. He knew very well that he would regret it later if he didn’t eat now.
As he waited, he was able to tune out his friends’ conversation and get lost inside his own thoughts. The whole day, he wasn’t able to get you off his mind… But why? Why was the shy new girl affecting him so much? It didn’t make sense. Jisung barely dated and had little to no interest in the girls in his year. So why now? Why you?
Finally, your familiar form walked in, head hanging low and eyes trained to your feet. Jisung leaped from his seat, dropping his half eaten sandwich and making his way towards you, lips turning upwards into a smile. His smile faltered as he saw you glance back, Felix falling into step with you.
He tried to shake his darkening thoughts away, despite feeling something in him growl. He should be happy you were able to find a friend, he could tell from the get go you were a shy person. He couldn’t expect you to talk exclusively to him, right?
He reached your side and rejoiced when you smiled widely as your eyes met.
   “Hey, Y/N!” he greeted you.
“Hey, Jisung!” you smiled back at him.
“I was waiting for you! I wanted to ask you to sit with us for lunch, if you want.” he offered.
Your smile fell for a brief second, your eyes widening. You glanced around and Jisung could almost see the gears inside your head turning.
“I’m sorry, Jisung, but I already told Felix we’d be eating together. Maybe another time?” you offered.
Jisung’s eyes broke away from yours, at last meeting Felix’s who was watching a couple of steps away. The other boy was already looking at him, raising an eyebrow as if to pose a challenge. Jisung refused to give in. Instead, he smiled even wider and turned to you.
“Sure thing! You want me to walk you to your next class? I can meet you by your locker if you’d like” he said.
“That’d be lovely. I’ll see you in a bit then?” you asked.
“See you in a bit, Y/N” he said, walking back to his friends.
He stared at his half eaten sandwich in disgust, grabbing it off of the table and hurling it into a nearby trash bin. He plopped down on a chair, heavy sigh leaving his lips which made his friends turn their attention to him.
“What was that about?” Seungmin asked.
“Nothing. Just class president stuff. What were you saying?” Jisung asked.
-----------------------------------
Months passed by in a flash and getting used to a new environment had never felt so easy to you. There were people you only talked to here and there, a couple of people you talked with exclusively in class. Felix on the other hand had been a huge help, his healing nature helping you wind down, his loud laugh and constant screaming making you laugh so much your stomach hurt and tears streamed down your face. Even without your project, you hang out together a lot and he had become a precious friend to you.
You had also grown much closer to Jisung, who had grown to be one of your closest friends. You were usually to be found hanging around either of their two boys, both struggling to help you fit in their inner circle. But you were content. You kept in contact with your old friends, while still hanging out with your new ones. Geonhak visited as often as he could, which always made you very happy.
Currently, you were laying on Jisung’s living room couch, having your weekly ‘How To Get Away With Murder’ hang out. However, your mind was currently preoccupied, so you paid little attention to the TV.
Your thoughts were swarmed as from this week onward, you could be expecting your college acceptance letters. Deciding your major and your school of choice wasn’t hard, your love for literature and English as a language only growing as you got older. On the other hand, both your parents were Yale alumni, so the love for the same university had passed down to you.
Your hands were fidgeting on your lap as your thoughts continued to race. You had sent out an application that you considered almost perfect. You had done your best to present yourself as someone the university would like, without lying or over exaggerating. But would it be enough?
As much as you tried not to think of the worst possible outcome, that’s exactly what your mind would play out. Different scenarios danced in front of you, from making grammar or spelling mistakes to not sending out the correct papers. You sighed heavily, your arm coming to support your head, which felt like it would explode.
“Penny for your thoughts?” Jisung asked.
That’s when you noticed the show was paused on the TV screen and Jisung’s attention was directed at his phone.
“It’s complicated. Or actually, not that much. I’m just stressed” you confessed.
“You want me to get you home? It’s okay if you’re not feeling the show right now” Jisung said.
“No. I’ll try to focus on this, I need to get my mind off of things anyway.” you told him, firmly shaking your head.
“Good. You know I barely understand a thing if you don’t explain it to me” Jisung joked.
You took his words as a compliment, which made you smile. You turned your attention back to the show, you and Jisung making easy small talk about the character’s decisions, or lack thereof.
The end of the episode found you all but screaming at the television. The cliffhanger was big, your anger was burning at your insides. You were standing on the couch, hands directed at the TV as if you were ready to hit it.
Jisung laughed from the couch next to yours, familiar with your shenanigans. When the screen turned black, you plopped back onto the couch dramatically.
“I’m going to faint. Then, when I wake up, I’m going to find the writers of this damn show and I’m going to murder them. And I’m gonna get away with it too” you announced.
Jisung laughed at you, enjoying your dramatic nature.
“Want to go for a drive? It’ll help get your mind off of things” he offered.
“One condition” you said, looking at him nodding without moving from your position. “I want McDonald’s”
“I live to serve you, milady” he said, giving a small bow.
You giggled, getting up and pulling on your coat and shoes. The air outside was unforgiving, relentlessly blowing in every direction, messing with your hair and making you shiver. At least it’s not snowing, you thought.
Jisung’s car was cold when you filed into it. It roared to life and Jisung wasted no time to turn the heat up. Pulling out of the driveway, he drove further into the city. Turning up the radio to an unknown station, you were met with loud country music, making both of you burst into laughter. You fumbled a little bit until you found something to your liking, allowing the car to be filled with some generic pop song.
“You know” you spoke up, “It’s days like these I miss Miami the most”
Jisung hummed, thinking over your words before answering.
“Well, it’s justified, you know? It’s okay that you miss your friends. It’s okay that you’ve made new ones too. It’s like... Like how we’re going to uni soon. We’ll meet new people there, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that we’ll forget our old friends. One doesn’t have to rule out the other” he finished.
You nodded, not able to find an answer. Your thoughts drifted, as Jisung stayed focused on the road, the car moving through the city’s streets. The silence was comfortable, as there was not much to say, but you didn’t mind. On the contrary, you enjoyed being alone with your thoughts, but at the same time without being completely on your own.
Jisung pulled up on the McDonald’s drive thru, expertly placing your order along with his. As he pulled up to pay and wait for your order to be ready, you smacked his arm.
“Hey! What was that for?” he asked, rubbing the place where you hit him.
“You didn’t ask what I wanted? What if I wanted a Big Mac or something?” you scolded him.
“Please! As if you’d eat anything but the nuggets. Tons of the nuggets, sure. But not a burger. It just isn’t you.” he said.
If you weren’t as busy hiding your blush, you may have noticed Jisung biting on the inside of his cheek.
“Oh fuck you” you finally managed, to which Jisung only replied with a smile.
“Don’t you dare!” you said, hitting his arm once again.
Jisung let out a yelp, his hand coming up to protect his face.
“If you keep hitting me, I’ll throw you out of the car. And I’ll eat your nuggets” he warned.
“Not the nuggets!” you cried, both of you chuckling.
Just then, you pulled up on the next window, a lady handing you a brown bag filled with your food. You politely thanked her before Jisung drove off. You lunged for the bag, finding your nuggets and happily taking a bite off of one.
“Look at you, you’re beaming! Food is literally the way to your heart, isn’t it?” he asked.
“I will neither confirm nor deny this statement. Now pull up somewhere or I’m going to eat your fries too” you threatened him.
“Yes ma’am!” Jisung complied with a laugh.
You made some small talk as you ate, your conversation flowing naturally from one topic to the other. You felt happy, so glad Jisung was able to quiet down your racing thoughts and help you wind down.
Your ringtone made you pause mid-sentence, as you sent Jisung an apologetic look. He shrugged you off, ushering you to pick up. Lixie shone brightly on your phone screen, a meme picture of Felix dominating it. You answered the call, only to be met by constant screaming on the other end of the line.
“Y/N!!!!!!!! THIS IS AN EMERGENCY! MY MOM AGREED TO GET ME A KITTY! Y/N I’M GETTING A KITTY DO YOU UNDERSTAND THE IMPORTANCE OF THIS MOMENT?” Felix screamed.
“Oh my God, Felix, calm down for a second my ear is bleeding!! On the other hand, A KITTY? WHEN ARE YOU GETTING IT? WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT TAKING CARE OF A CAT YOU IDIOT, YOU CAN BARELY TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF?!” you screamed in return.
“Y/N, I’m actually so scared, I want to be a good cat father, what am I going to do?” he asked.
“Look, I have some studying to do tomorrow, then I’m coming at yours so I can train you, okay?” you asked.
“Yes, Y/N, I knew you’d pull through! Thank you so much! I love you!” Felix said.
“I love you too. But I have to go now, I’ll text you later” you said, ending the call.
When you turned back to Jisung, you found him avoiding your eyes.
“That was Felix. He’s getting a kitty” you spoke up.
“So I heard. I think the whole block did too” Jisung said.
“Yeah, sorry about that” you tried to laugh it off, but Jisung didn’t follow.
“Jisung are you okay?” you asked, placing your hand on top of his on the center console.
He didn’t flinch, but you could tell the weight of your hand over his didn’t offer the comfort you wished it would. A few moments passed by, the silence in the car becoming overbearing.
“I think I should be getting home” you said, recoiling to the passenger’s seat.
   “Okay” Jisung replied, driving off.
The drive was quiet, music standing in place of your familiar banter. You couldn’t put your finger on what made Jisung so sensitive. Felix would call or text sometimes while you were together, making Jisung completely shut down. You really couldn’t understand his behaviour, and everytime you tried to talk to him about it, he would brush it off.
The more you thought about his behaviour, anger, mixed with sadness and helplessness boiled inside of you. What were you supposed to do? Be alone until Jisung graced you with his presence? Stop hanging out with Felix? Or just take his rude behaviour, accept anything just because it was Jisung?
   No. It wouldn’t stand.
“You know, if there’s something wrong, I wish you could tell me. I can’t just keep guessing why you’re acting this way or another.” you said, your eyes fixed on the buildings passing by your side.
“What? Where is this coming from?” Jisung asked.
“Please don’t pretend you don’t understand. Everytime I so much as mention Felix’s name you completely shut down. And then when I try to talk about it, you do the exact same thing. I just don’t get it” you said.
“I don’t understand what you’re talking about.” Jisung replied.
“That’s how you want to be? Fine! Fine. Pull over.” you told him sternly.
“Y/N, don’t-” he began, but you cut him off.
“Jisung pull the car over or I will jump out of it right this second” you warned.
He muttered something under his breath, pulling the car over in front of an unfamiliar apartment building. You pulled your coat closer over your chest, your hand over the door handle.
“If you decide you want to talk about this, you know where to find me. Until then, leave me alone” you said, getting out of his car and slamming the door.
You started walking and before you could turn the corner, you heard angry honking coming from behind you. You jumped, surprised at the piercing sound then huffed in annoyance, continuing your way back home.
Once you were safely inside, you joined your parents in the living room. The small talk with your parents helped you take your mind off of things. It was nice to pretend that things were normal for a while. So you sat in front of the TV next to your dad, who was quietly grabbing a bite to eat. You scrolled through your phone as you usually did and you asked for their permission to go to Felix’s tomorrow. It was easy for them to agree as you reassured them you’d finish your homework first.
You excused yourself after a while, your hands already tapping away at your phone. One ring, then two. On the third ring, the only person you missed more than Geonhak answered.
“If it isn’t the brightest smile in this world” your best friend said in place of a hello.
“Oh, Yeji. My smile isn’t bright right now.” you confessed.
“What? Who hurt you? Do I need to fight someone?” she asked.
You wasted no time filling her in, trying to skip no details. You went back and forth in your story a lot, adding some of your blabberings that caused you to stray off of your topic. Yeji was familiar with this and extremely patient with you, asking questions and listening intently. She hummed here and there, but for the most part allowed you to talk until you had bared everything out in the open, unloaded the heavy burden of your heart.
“I just… I don’t know. I really don’t know what to do. And I wish you were here…” you trailed off.
“Hey. Don’t go all sappy on me. We’re having a conversation over here. Just… Let me think” she said.
The phone line grew silent as Yeji thought over your words. You waited patiently, fiddling with the tassels of your blacket to give your hands something to do.
“Honestly I don’t understand him. From what you’ve told me, Jisung sounds like a fairly reasonable person. It may be the hormones. You know, no one can be perfect” Yeji tried to joke.
You groaned into the phone, letting Yeji laugh it off on her own. You buried your face in one of your throw pillows, hoping the sweet scent would help you calm down.
“No, okay, I get it, bad joke, I’m sorry” Yeji said and you hummed into the phone in place of an answer. “Maybe you should just give him some space. He probably doesn’t know exactly what to say to you. I’m sure he’ll come around sooner or later. And if he doesn’t, well… That’s tough luck. But also, you wouldn’t really want a person like that next to you anyways, right?” she finished.
“What would I do without you Yeji?” you asked.
“Ah, that’s a very good question. But I’m glad we don’t have to answer it” she said.
“Me as well. I’m sorry we got caught up with me again. How are you doing?” you asked.
After catching up with Yeji, your heart felt lighter. She had a magnificent way of calming you down, saying exactly the words you wanted to hear. She was the best friend you ever had, and the constant aching in your heart (a result of being without her) served as a reminder of that.
That night, you settled in under your covers, but sleep remained out of your reach. This would usually be the time when you’d text Jisung, a well known night owl himself and talk into the night until one of you fell asleep first.
But tonight that wouldn’t be the case. So you snuggled further into your bed, played some relaxing music and wished for sleep to come quickly
----------------------------------------
Days passed by slowly and everytime you returned home you looked through the mail hoping to find the one letter you so badly wanted. You had already received your acceptance letters from NYU and Columbia, which only left out… The one your heart longed for the most.
It had been almost two weeks since your falling out with Jisung. Since then, you hadn’t talked at all, barely even glanced at each other. It was a hard task, for in the classes you shared you were sitting side by side and also because you wanted nothing more than to talk to him.
But, Yeji was right. He needed space and maybe, you did too. So you ignored each other’s presence as much as possible, with Jisung running out of classrooms as soon as the bell rang and you keeping your head low. If Felix had noticed the change, he did not mention anything, which made you wonder if he was in on something you didn’t know.
You were sitting in one of the schools’ benches, furiously writing down numbers for some Algebra homework you had put off for too long. The music flowing in your ears was there to ground you, but your thoughts still ran in circles inside your head. Then, the music cut off and was replaced by the blaring of your ringtone. Being snapped out of your reverie abruptly, you answered the phone groggily.
“Y/N, sweetie, I hate to do this so much but… It’s here” your mom said on the other end.
“What? Mom, I don’t understand.” you told her.
“Sweetie, your Yale letter. It’s here. But I have to go, I have to go to work and I can’t open it with you” she told you.
At the mention of the letter, your heart skipped a beat, only for it to begin a crazy pounding inside your chest the next second. You felt lightheaded, close to fainting, your knees buckling under you. Everything was getting too real.
“Mom, it’s okay. I’ll just FaceTime Geonhak or something” you managed.
Indeed the very thought of your brother brought you peace. You could do this… Right?
You couldn’t do this. You stared at the letter on the kitchen counter and it seemed to you that it was staring back at you. You had gotten home a few minutes ago, the envelope waiting patiently for you on top of the kitchen counter. Something was stopping you from opening it, so you would just sit there, waiting for the letter to open on its own. You couldn’t pinpoint what you felt in those moments, excitement and dread, your hands itching to get on the piece of paper and yet fearing to even come close to it.
You unlocked your phone, your finger hovering over the contact you so badly wanted there for this moment. So for once in your life, you decided to be brave. Time was up.
He picked up on the fifth ring.
“Yeah?” he said, and you could feel your stomach tighten in anticipation.
   “Jisung, it’s Y/N” you said.
“Yes, I know that. You need something?” he asked.
You should’ve expected that he would be curt with you, but still, hearing him like this hurt you. You tried to brush it off, instead telling him why you needed him.
“My Yale letter is here. I… I can’t open it, Jisung. My parents are at work and I don’t want to open it with someone over video call.” you told him.
“Why are you calling me? Call Felix or whoever” he snapped back at you.
“Felix already left, they have a hockey match… I’ll just wait for my parents to get home. I’m sorry I called.” you said, stumbling over your words.
“I’ll be there in ten minutes.” Jisung said, hanging up the phone.
A thank you threatened to slip by your lips, but you held it back. You threw your phone back on the counter, rubbing your face with your hands. Ten minutes… Yes, you could wait ten minutes.
You couldn’t wait. What began as feeling lightheaded with your mother’s call, now had become a full blown headache, pounding at your head mercilessly. You waited for Jisung in front of the door, hand softly massaging your temple to relieve some pressure.
When his car pulled up on your street, your lips curled up into a smile. You took him in, finally able to look at him after weeks. He was wearing all black, from the beanie on his head to his clothes. Without a word, he took you into his arms and you knew, it was that easy.
“I’m here” he whispered in your ear and you had to sigh.
You felt at ease, breathing evenly once again. The pounding on your head was still ongoing, but you would have to live with it for a little while longer. Without a word, you led Jisung inside and he followed you easily through the familiar house.
You held the letter in your hands, almost showing it off to Jisung.
“It feels heavy. Weighty. They wouldn’t turn me down with so much paper, would they?” you asked.
“I… I have something to tell you.” Jisung murmured.
You were taken aback, but you nodded, urging him to go on. What had happened? Then, Jisung took out a letter much like yours from the pocket of his jacket. You felt yourself gasp, immediately reprimanding yourself for your reaction. You met his eyes, noticing the familiar twinkle behind them. And you knew.
“You got in” you whispered under your breath.
Jisung nodded, laying the envelope next to yours. Your vision got blurry, tears threatening to spill from your eyes. You inhaled deeply, trying to push them back and keep your voice stable.
“I’m so happy for you, Jisung. I know how much you wanted this.” you said, holding down a sob.
“Now, it’s your turn. We have to do this together, alright?” he asked.
You nodded, taking another deep breath to steady yourself. Jisung gave you an encouraging look as you took the envelope in your hands and tore it open.
“That felt nice.” you confessed and Jisung chuckled lightly.
The first piece of paper had the university’s seal on it, along with your information. You skimmed along the lines to find the word you wanted so badly. Accepted. And there it was, in big bold letters. You had been accepted into Yale.
The tears found their way down your cheeks as a weak sob raked through your body. You stumbled over your own feet, but Jisung was there to catch you. Jisung was always there to catch you.
You clung to him, whispering the same words over and over into his shoulder. ‘I got in, I’m in, I got in’ became a mantra, and Jisung holding you tightly managed to bring you back to reality. You took a few moments to stop the happy tears, before pulling back enough to look at him.
Just then, you realized your close proximity, Jisung’s body burning under your touch. Your noses were touching and if you as much as breathed, your lips would be on his. And how lovely would that be…
You didn’t have enough time to think about it, for Jisung seemed to read your mind, closing the distance between you and placing his lips on yours. Your breath caught at your throat, your eyes widening, your brain taking a few moments to realize what was happening. Your body became water, flowing in Jisung’s hands as you kissed back and everything fit into place.
  Until it didn’t.
Jisung recoiled from you, turning his back on you and facing the window. You almost fell backwards, luckily grabbing the counter behind you for support. You shot him an incredulous look which he didn’t see. When you saw him wiping his lips in disgust, something broke inside you.
“What the fuck?” you asked, hating the fact that your voice broke.
“I shouldn’t have come here. This was a mistake. Congratulations.” he said, making for the door.
“No. No, you don’t get to do this” you said, moving quickly and pulling Jisung back.
You were standing awfully close again, your chest pressed against his, only this time your eyes were burning. His icy stare met your burning one, and you don’t understand a thing. Nothing makes sense, when all you want is to kiss him again and he is running away from you.
“What’s wrong with you?” you asked him, the anger clear in your voice.
“What’s wrong with me? What’s wrong with you? Lover boy is out of town so we are making for second best? I won’t play this game with you, Y/N” he said.
“Lover boy? What are you talking about?” you asked.
“Are you serious? I’m talking about your boyfriend, Felix! Or do you think that I’m stupid? I have eyes, Y/N, I see your wallpaper change to him, I see your smile when you talk about him, you drop everything the second he calls, you run to him whenever he needs you” Jisung went on, but you didn’t listen.
After you got over the initial shock, laughter bubbled from deep inside you. If you were being honest, the whole situation was so outright ridiculous, there were not many things you could do but laugh. Jisung on the other hand, wasn’t in on the joke and so your laughter only served to rile him up even more.
“Is this funny to you?” Jisung asked.
“Oh, Jisung you… You can be so dense sometimes.” you said, moving closer to him.
If you had more confidence, maybe you’d grab his hand and drag him closer, or drag him by the neck so your lips could meet again. But you weren’t that person. No, all you could do was walk as close as he would let you and meet his stare head on.
“It’s you. It’s always been you. I’m not dating Felix, or anyone at all. Since the first day I met you, you… You got me. I think I’m in love with you, Han Jisung” you confessed, your heart beating in your throat.
Baring your heart out in the open should’ve been scary and unthinkable to you. And yet as you stood in your kitchen, Jisung across from you, nothing had ever felt so right. Your heart was light inside your chest and even if your thoughts were running, they ran for someone who was worth it.
“So you and Felix never…” he said, his voice trailing off.
You couldn’t help but giggle, firmly shaking your head.
“Not at all. He is very dear to me and I love him as a friend. But that’s it” you reassured him.
“I’m such an idiot” he said, more of a statement than a question.
You hummed at his words, inching closer to him. He pulled at your hand, making you fall in a not very elegant way on top of his chest. He chuckled and you did too, the feeling of his chest rising and falling under your fingertips comforting to you.
   “Hey” he whispered.
   Your noses were touching.
   “Hi” you whispered back.
Your lips almost brushed each other.
“Can I-?” he didn’t get to finish his question, your mouths already colliding.
The kiss was slow and intimate, your mouths moving against each other. He tasted of mint toothpaste and longing, a winter night’s air and the first breath after a dive. Your hand cupped the back of Jisung’s neck and he shuddered under your touch, making you break the kiss to giggle.
“You almost drove me crazy and you’re still laughing.” he scolded you.
This time, he captured your bottom lip only to bite hard on it in retaliation. You called out in surprise, hitting his chest lightly.
“That hurt, asshole” you said, hitting him a second time for good measure.
“It did? Let me kiss it better then”

--------
If Suyuan could make a dessert to represent her cousin’s bake sale, she’d bake a Keylime Pie. The middle school’s front entrance was lined with thick green grass that glistened in the sunlight. The late spring breeze carried the scent of the lime trees nearby, tingling her nose.
The PTA was throwing a Mountain Retreat Bake Sale to raise funds for a weeklong mountain retreat for the 6th grade class. Fen, Suyuan’s cousin, should have been setting up the baked goods under the tent, but the 12-year-old was having too much fun playing with her friends. They were currently bullying a man who seemed to be related to Fen’s best friend, HaeWon.
He wore black skinny jeans and a loose white and black striped knit sweater. His black hair fell over his eyes as he grimaced a smile. He was trying to dance along to an Itzy song, but the kids were booing him as he refused to do “aeygo”. Suyuan grinned as she recalled how she and her classmates would tease their older cousins to do cute dances to entertain them. It was a circle of life to be forced to do cute dances at various points in one’s life.
“Fen, I think we have to set up the lemonade, too,” Suyuan called out, setting a sign down on the table as she stood up. “Give that guy a break, too! We’re helping you for free, you know. I should have told you to buy me Starbucks.”
“Jeno Lee! Jeno Lee! You can’t dance!” Fen and HaeWon chanted. The main bullies had even started a dance where they sashayed their hips. They stopped once their friends began to retreat back to pick up their tasks.
“Thanks,” Jeno Lee said with a shy smile as he walked away from his red motorbike to join her under the tent. “I’m Jeno.”
“Suyuan,” she replied, waving her hand. “I’m Fen’s cousin. How’d you get roped into this?”
“My aunt and uncle helped me with my bake sale when I was 13,” he replied. He began helping Fen and HaeWon line up trays of cookies on one of the white topped plastic tables. “HaeWon should buy me some Starbucks, too, I think.”
“I don’t even have a credit card,” HaeWon replied, looking over her shoulder to glare at him.
“Suyuan helped me bake these strawberry macarons!” Fen exclaimed, setting the cookies down beside the blueberry jam thumbprint cookies. “My mom and I made the shortbread cookies.”
“Did you have to do this?” Jeno asked as he sat down to help make the signs to indicate the prices of the baked goods.
“No, for our school trip we pitched our trip to family members, Shark Tank-style,” she replied.
“What?” he sounded incredulous as he stopped writing on the white board to stare at her. “Your school turned it into a Economy project?”
“It was fun. I mostly used cute pictures of me in my slides and I kept saying, ‘You’re investing in my future and well being,’ enough to make my parents emotional. It annoyed my siblings and other relatives enough that they handed me at least a couple dollars before I could finish my pitch.”
“Smart,” he said, looking impressed. “Do you know how to write DanPatBbang?”
“My mom made a huge batch!” HaeWon spoke up as she pointed to the golden buns wrapped in clear plastic bags.
“Um, no,” Suyuan replied. “We can write Sweet Red Bean Paste Buns. We’ll find someone to write it the correct way. They look amazing, HaeWon! Your mom told me you made the paste.”
“I also brushed the egg wash on,” she said.
Fen and HaeWon took over all the tasks Suyuan and Jeno started. Soon enough, Jeno and Suyuan were seated behind the pastries and water cooler filled with lemonade, chitchatting. They exchanged war stories about their 6th Grade Mountain Retreat. Jeno’s class were locked in their dorms for a few hours as a family of bears foraged around their camp for food the first day they arrived. It sounded more exciting than what really happened, he claimed.
Jeno seemed captivated as Suyuan told an elaborate story about her group’s river raft ride. Their raft capsized partway through the ride, and her group had to walk their way back to camp with nothing but an old compass as help, all of them soaked to the bone. Suyuan had sprained her ankle, and cried her entire walk back to camp, which had been roughly a half mile walk.
“It’s funny now,” Suyuan said as Jeno chuckled into his fist, “but I was miserable for the rest of the trip.”
“How many days did you have your ankle sprained?” he asked, picking up a sugar cookie and taking a bite.
“That’s a dollar fifty,” she said, holding out her hand. His eyes widened as he stopped midchew.
“All I have is my debit card,” he replied, spitting out crumbs into his fist.
“Don’t talk with your mouth full,” she scolded gently, leaning over to grab a napkin that sat behind him. Her chin bumped into his shoulder and she jumped back immediately.
“Sorry!” they exclaimed in unison. She threw the napkin over his mouth as he spat out more crumbs.
“Let me get you some water,” she said, standing up to walk over to the cooler near a table where HaeWon and Fen were standing. They were talking to some of their classmates, Fen staring at the blue haired kid holding a skateboard. “Can I buy a bottle of water?”
When she returned to Jeno, he was biting into strawberry danish. He thanked her for the water, and gave half of the danish to her.
“I’m going to spend $10, and I’ve eaten $3’s worth of pastries so far,” he reasoned, picking up a scallion pancake Suyuan’s mom made for the bake sale. “These are good. I’d love some kimchi with this.”
“Do you think someone’s auntie brought her own jars of kimchi to sell here?” she asked, sitting up straight to crane her neck around.
“I’d smell it before either of us see it,” he said, pointing to his nose. “Maybe in an hour? It’s good to have people filter in late. My uncle says it keeps the flow going and the food fresh.”
“Your uncle gave you economics lessons anyway,” she said, impressed.
As the day wore on, Fen and HaeWon began whistling Red Velvet’s “Red Flavor” whenever they came around Jeno and Suyuan, to the point that Suyuan had to bribe Fen with $20 in cold hard cash to leave them alone. Jeno was very kind and gentle, but his absentmindedness led to a chaotic energy. Jeno’s card was declined when his aunt showed them how to use electronic transactions on her iPad.
He realized he’d been using his Student credit card’s PIN when the card was declined for a third time. Suyuan poured Jeno a cup of lemonade as he had to call his bank to explain why his card had been declined three times. His face was flushed as he took a sip from the purple straw in the cup she handed him.
“Thank you, yes, I’ve got it,” Jeno said after 15 minutes of transferring to 2 different departments of customer service. “Auntie, I think I’ve solved it. I’m going to buy $10 extra for these pastries.”
“It was that bad?” Suyuan asked as Jeno picked up one of the bao buns Suyuan had made with her aunt and mom. “Those buns are $2.”
“OK,” he said through a mouthful of food.
“You never learn,” she said with a grin, handing him a napkin. “Chew, then speak.”
“These buns are so good, I love the barbecue pork,” he said, staring at the red filling. “This bake sale is probably more legit than the China Town in the city.”
“I haven’t been there in years,” she said. “I heard they opened a Korean patisserie near that tacky karaoke bar.”
“Jeno,” HaeWon called out, waving from the playground behind the tents they’d set up, “how do you shoot from the three-point line?”
Some of the kids had arrived with a basketball, and they watched as Jeno made shot after shot on the basketball court. After making a basket from every angle the kids requested, Jeno handed the basketball back to HaeWon. Despite teasing Jeno earlier, it was obvious that HaeWon looked up to him a lot. She showed it in her own special ways.
“Did you want to go get some boba?” Jeno asked, holding his hand out to Suyuan. “My mom and aunt are relieving me of my duties soon.”
“My mom’s on her way, too,” she replied, taking his hand. “Perfect timing.”
When Suyuan’s mom arrived, she eyed Jeno on his red cruiser motorbike.
“Be safe,” her mom said pointedly before hugging her. “I heard Jeno’s quite polite, but...be safe.”
“Oh, mom, calm down,” Suyuan sighed, giving her mom a grin. “You know Jeno’s parents well enough.”
“A motorbike,” her mom mouthed silently as Fen and HaeWon walked by. She rolled her eyes.
“I’ll text you, mom. Bye, Fen! See you, HaeWon!”
“Don’t kiss him too much,” Fen uttered out and HaeWon laughed as the pair ran off at the sight of Suyuan glaring at them.
Her annoyance disappeared as she saw Jeno sitting against his bike, holding out a helmet to her. His grin made her chest feel like it was growing, and she thanked him in a soft voice as she took the helmet. True to the rumors her mom heard, Jeno politely helped Suyuan secure her helmet on, and checked with her that she felt secure before starting the engine to his motorbike.
She pressed her body close to him as his body warmed her. She smelled the blueberry on his shirt, perhaps due to the slice of blueberry pie he’d accidentally spilled onto the left sleeve of his sweater. It took everything in her not to sit up and kiss his cheek as they stopped at a red light.
Once they reached the boba shop near the church one of her aunts volunteered at, Suyuan slowly slipped her hands away from Jeno’s body. She was afraid to admit to herself that she enjoyed her time on the ride with him. It was better than her time with any significant other she’d ever been with, even her boyfriend of 8 months during her freshman year in college.
The church organ music playing in the distance reminded her to stop her imaginations from going too wild as she watched Jeno brush his hair out of his eyes. As they sat on the picnic table near the boba shop, Suyuan asked Jeno questions about his bike, and how he got into riding motorbikes.
“My Engineering final had me do a group project,” he explained between sips of his watermelon slush. “We refurbished an old Honda Fury. We were docked a grade for turning our Shop project into our Engineering project, too.”
“That’s bullshit,” she said with a grin. He laughed in agreement. “Is it easy to ride a motorbike?”
“Easy enough,” he said with a shrug. “You have to go in without so much doubt and fear, and then you’ll be confident in your riding.”
“You’ll have to teach me,” she said, sidling up close to him. “How were we able to miss each other when we were teens?”
“You traveled in the bookish crowd, and I was with the jocks and gamers,” he replied.
“What does that mean?” she asked, feeling her cheeks turn warm.
“We had Algebra 101 together but you were home sick for the first 3 weeks,” he said. “I had a small crush on you, but I never worked up the courage to talk to you. I wanted to ask you to help me with my homework. I’m not good at math.”
“We went to school together?” she asked, shocked that she had assumed that they were mutual strangers when they met that morning. “I’m sorry. My teen years were my confused queer years. I spent all of high school crushing on girls and boys, and I didn’t know if it meant I was a lesbian or bi...or something else along the queer spectrum.”
“So do you have it figured out?”
“Um,” she grinned at him as he threw his arm over her shoulders, “I’m OK saying I’m bi, but I know that things are never set in stone.”
“I’m glad we spent today together,” he said, resting his hand on her chin, pulling her close to him. He kissed her. “I had to wait for my cousin to tease me for you to notice me.”
She laughed against his lips, kissing him as she rested a hand on his shoulder.
“You wouldn’t have liked angsty me anyways,” she admitted, pulling away from his kiss. She wiped her lipstick stains off his lips with her thumbs. “I wasn’t prepared for a relationship as a high schooler. Did your crush return today?”
“It was when you stood up to my bullies,” he said, his cheeks flushing pink.
“Our cousins?”
She laughed before planting a wet kiss onto his lips. He wrapped his arms around her waist, and requested he take her home.
“For the record,” she said, taking his hand and kissing it quickly, “I think I crushed on you at the same moment. You were putting up with the kids’ bullying so well.”
She held on tight to him, relishing the feel of his back as she pressed her cheek against it, hearing his heartbeat against her ear. His body felt firm, and his sweater was soft, although a bit itchy. Once they reached her apartment complex, she got off the bike and handed his spare helmet back to him.
“Thank you for bringing me home safely,” she said. Before he could respond, she kissed him, pressing her tongue against his lips. He pushed back immediately, his lips capturing hers.
“Can I take you out to dinner tomorrow?” he asked when he broke their kiss. She licked her lips, tasting a hint of sweet red bean paste. “No pressure.”
“Pick me up at 6:00 PM?” she asked. She kissed him, and his hand reached up to touch her cheek.
“It’s a date,” he breathed out as they rested their foreheads together. “I should let you go home. I want to be a gentleman today.”
“I can’t wait to see you tomorrow,” she said before caressing his earlobe. She kissed him. “Text me when you get home?”
He kissed her one last time before they broke apart. As she walked up the stairs to her apartment her mind clouded with thoughts of Jeno’s lips on hers. He was warm, like the bright spring sun. The scent that radiated from him was grassy and refreshing, energizing her in the same way the scent of limes did. Jeno Lee was her perfect Keylime Pie.
