top 5 burn characters go
Good gods Anon this is evil. Only five!??? 😭💕
I spent like three days trying to make up my mind on this, and I'm still not satisfied, but as of the moment, in no particular order:
The Best Boys
Mr. William Guppy of Kenge & Carboy, Bleak House
He's awkward, he's manipulative, he has no real social skills to speak of, and he's in love. I actually really disliked this character when I first read the book circa 2011, but as Burn seems wont to do, I ended up being completely won over in the end. ^_^; His Guppy is expressive, less a comic relief and almost sympathetic. I mentioned in a conversation with @synthapostate about how Guppy is technically an antagonist, but he's played in such a way that you really can't see it (unlike the book). Also the camera is half in love with Burn this entire series, and it makes it very, very easy to fall in love with this dorky, curly-haired puppy of a man.
Dr. Hermann Gottlieb, Pacific Rim & Pacific Rim: Uprising
I could write sonnets about Hermann for how much I've come to love him. 😅 He's one of the Characters of All Time for me. From his passion, his stubborn resilience, and his sharp humor, to his unwavering loyalty for those he cares for and his ability to care so deeply, how could I not irrevocably fall for him? (Also singlehandedly the cause of the 2023 Burn Binge.) Hermann found his way into my heart from the very beginning, but I never realized how at home he had made himself until the day I turned around and he was patiently waiting for me to see him. I think I fell for him and Newt in the same fell swoop, and my love for both of them is unwavering.
Dr. Owen Harper, Torchwood
I've been in love with this bastard since 2013; I've been repressing that adoration for 10 years. I- I don't really remember the exact moment that my opinion of Owen shifted from extreme dislike to him carving a permanent place in my very being, but there it is. He's sarcastic, an incorrigible flirt, and has one of the biggest, kindest hearts I've ever come across in fiction. At the time, I was pre-Med, and I aspired to be half as compassionate a doctor as him. After Exit Wounds, I gave up Torchwood (I couldn't, not with Tosh gone too.), but I've slowly been dipping my toes back in via Burn's reading of some of the books & the Big Finish audios. It's been 10 years, yet I think I'm more in love with this bastard than I ever was before. (And okay, I admit, he might be my favorite-favorite ^_^;)
Sgt. Detective William Blore, And Then There Were None
Bill, Bill, Bill... He's a crooked cop, he's tired of everyone's nonsense, he's filled with regret, he's probably gay. Detective Blore is yet another classic lit character that I first met back in the late 20-aughts, early 2010s who I really didn't care for. Then 2023 rolls around, and not only did I come to love him in this adaptation, but I've ended up going on an Agatha Christie bender because of it. Burn made me... well love would be too strong a word, but I definitely rank Blore as "a poor little meow meow."
Major Edmund Hewlett, TURN
How could this list be at all complete without including my beloved major? (Just picking a gif for this made me realise how badly I've missed him. 🥺) Edmund is... How do I explain how much I adore this guy? How do I possibly pin down the levels of pride I have in his journey, in his growth, explain the way my heart aches at the twists and turns that will tear him apart and build him back even stronger? How do I possibly do justice in conveying how damn aspirational he is, how merciful, how delightful? I can't, really. He's a force of nature that one must experience for themselves. (And I need to resume my rewatch methinks~)
Runner-Ups
(or the characters who have been spinning in my brain nonstop like rotisserie chickens and absolutely deserve mention)
Ben Jarvis, Cheat
I... I have entire essays I want to write about this guy. I have theories I want to discuss, but as most of them are... I can't. Yet. Maybe soon? I- Anyway. Ben was a huge surprise, and definitely nowhere close to what I was expecting when I finally got around to watching this show. I would be lying to say it wasn't a pleasant surprise, and I absolutely love how Burn was able to do a lot of solo work this series, with a lot of focus on body language and his uncanny knack for killer expressions.
Jacko Argyle, Ordeal By Innocence
This... This beautiful little shit ♡ One of the first Burn movies I actively chose to seek out, my second in his Agatha Christie adaptations, and my first dive into gif making. And Jacko-! Oh, Jacko... You stole my heart then broke it in only a few, few precious moments of screentime and backstory. He haunts the entire film, he haunts me still, and I'm so glad I had the chance to meet him.
Martin, Up There
(Oh look yet another one of my gifs 😅)
Martin is absolutely one of my favourite characters, especially for his absolute growth during the film. He crawls out of his downward spiral, he finds himself again, and ultimately discovers that there can be life after death. He just- He's grumpy, he's beautifully sarcastic, he's depressed, he's loved, and he just- Seriously I love him. Martin feels like a friend who I haven't seen in an age, and it's always a good day to bump into him again.
Reverend Benedict Marley, Lark Rise to Candleford
I almost forgot my favourite clergyman??? D:
Benedict Marley came into my life just to shake my very foundations, send me on an existential journey of self discovery, and waited for me at the end of it all with a soft smile and encouraging words. He only had one episode in the show, but his story was so easily woven and understood, his humility humbled me, and in ways that make me almost afraid to admit aloud- I felt seen in a way that I ever so rarely am. I connected to him; I understand him. He has depths that I could hardly explain in a single paragraph, but I can say that- out of all these characters- my feelings are birthed more out of a very deep respect and admiration.
I can't say this list will stay the same- I'm far from through with Burn's portfolio- but for his on-screen roles, these guys firmly remain top-tier for me. :)
(If you'd like to hear about his voice work instead, please let me know; I could go on for Hours about some of those lads. ♡)
Thanks for the ask Anon, and if you haven't seen any of these yet, I definitely recommend them!
#this has been sitting untouched for days; I'm so sorry anon#burn gorman#anon ask#thank you!#man i need a tag for burn now fuck#i TRIED to find gifs i didn't make myself yet-#i kind of want to go back and add some of my fave audios too but I'll do a separate post instead if you'd be interested...?#mr. guppy if you please#bleak house#hermann my beloved#pacrim#owen darling boy#torchwood#sgt. detective blore#and then there were none#attwn#edmund my dearest 🔭#turn#ben jarvis#itv cheat#jacko argyle#ordeal by innocence#martin mon petit 🤍#up there#benedict marley#lark rise to candleford#seriously anon tho thank you for the ask; i hope this was okay and not too rambly ^_^;#shut up ace#hello tis i#the burn collection

I love that they give him large print versions to copy from…
There’s a radio interview with him and Roger Allam (one of the only ones I know of them actually interviewed together) from an early season where the presenter asks him if he’s good at crosswords and he says ‘no I’m rubbish at them..’
I guess real life doesn’t always imitate art…

There was a confrontation between Frentzen and another guy which saw a knife pulled on either Frentzen or a random female bystander. Either way, Ratzenberger selflessly stepped in and wrestled the knife away from the man.

• Only five drivers attended his funeral

thanks for the tag @ullybug!
Make a new post with the names of all the files in your WIP folder, regardless of how non-descriptive or ridiculous. Let people send you an ask with the title that most intrigues them, and then post a little snippet or tell them something about it! Then, tag as many people as you have WIPs.
I had to cheat a little and rename some files from 'Untitled Document' but here we go-- Not all of these are things I am working on right now but they are fics I consider going back to in the medium-term, including quite a few from the olden days and a few already published on ao3 as wips

💕
Well, first off, this is the first ask I got that from outside our little Magnificent Century circle, and I am a little puzzled, because like. I didn't specify the question has to be about Magnificent Century, but like... Is OP even a Magnificent Century fan? I am also a bit unsure of what unpopular means here, like is it a rarepair, or a pair that gets a lot of flack from the fandom? Anyway, I am involved in the Magnificent Century fandom more than any other, so I am going to pick a couple from that show that I feel like is talked about more negatively than not, even if it isn't necessarily trashed.
💕: What is an unpopular ship that you like?
I had to really think about this one. And you know what? I am going to cheat and pick a couple from Kösem. Specifically, Fahriye and Mehmet Giray. I am the biggest Kösem season 1 evangelist in this fandom and Fahriye's subplot is one of the reasons why, like honestly it's just so good??? Sure, part of their appeal is the way they grew apart and just as a basic "secret love of a princess", they weren't very impressive. But still. Their story is so good and I wish people talked about it more.
I am also going to say something super controversial: Bayezit x Huricihan isn't that bad. I don't love it either, and still like Huricihan better with Cihangir, but on their own, they are fine. Sometimes even cute. And yes, I know they are cousin, but come the fuck on. It's 16th century Ottoman Empire. We kinda accept a certain level of values dissonance when it comes to pairing sultans with their literal slaves, why not here? Also, I am a vicbert shipper, which if you didn't know is a pairing from ITV Victoria that includes the show version of queen Victoria and prince consort Albert. Who both in show and irl were first cousins. Like they have a whole ass common uncle running around (Leopold I. of Belgium; well, he's technically Albert's father, because in the show-verse he banged his brother's wife, it's wild) and shit. I, resident of a luxurious palace from the finest crystal glass, am sure as fuck not going to throw stones around here, 'kay?

Local Month of Writing A Novel
For possibly the fourth time in the nine years I’ve been doing this blog I have decided to add to my writing workload by participating in NaNoWriMo. Except this year I’m not calling it NaNoWriMo because the official NaNoWriMo organisation has been involved in a number of recent controversies including one whereby it reckons you’d have written a novel if you asked an AI to spit out 50,000 words for you with little to no human input.
Instead, I’m calling it LoMoWriNo.
Local Month of Writing a Novel.
LoMoWriNo works in much the same way as NaNoWriMo, with the aim being to complete a 50,000-word draft of a novel in November. This means you have to write 1667 words a day, which is pretty easy when you’re waffling on in University Challenge Review intros, but pretty difficult when you have to hang more than one thing together in a coherent narrative.
Not that I’ve ever really got the knack of the whole coherent narrative business. I’m trying though, and that’s all that matters. And I’m going to try and avoid doing what I did when I was seventeen which was to fill entire pages with the word ‘really’ if I ran out of ideas or was too tired to get my words out. A tactic which is still more noble than getting AI to write it for you.
If I were a clever blogger, I would have prepared some intros like a Blue Peter host, here’s some I made earlier and all that jazz. But I am not a clever blogger — if I were I’d have a few more subscribers, I’m sure.
The good thing about my hopes of completing LoMoWriNo this month is that, unlike my previous attempts, I don’t have the pesky spectre of a job or a university degree to distract me. So I might just get it done.
However, there is also a chance I might launch another newsletter this month, about moving to Scotland and going for walks, so I have artificially increased my level of busyness by a considerable level.
Anyway, this year’s novel is about a big mine — if you subscribe to this blog I’ll probably chuck you a few snippets if I get it done on time.

For now, though, I’m going to get on with the episode, because unlike previous years I’m not going to count this introduction as part of my word requirement. It would have been useful, a quick 400 to get me started, but there is no need to cheat like that this year.
Tonight’s match was between Leicester and LSE.
LSE finished second in the second series of the BBC era, losing a tight final to Imperial in 1996.
Leicester finished first in the first series of the ITV era, winning the first ever Grand Final trophy against Balliol in 1963.
At Christmas in 1998 there was a special episode which saw the Leicester 1963 team face off against the 1998 winners Magdalen, Ox.
I won’t spoil who won because this would be a good match to review in my Patreon series of old shows, which features a match which was broadcast a week after this Champion of Champions contest (link below).

Here’s your first starter for ten.
First to recognise King as the surname which links a list of people is LSE’s Dalton, and they took a triple (A) from a bonus set on batteries. Commonwealth gives Dalton a second consecutive starter, and they took another hat-trick on economics (nothing more than to be expected, given the university they represent, and the fact that three of them are studying economics in one way or another).
They took one bonus before Lister won them the picture bonuses by recognising an close up of the flag of Malta. Two bonuses closed the gap to ten points before Gowland tied the game with Futurama.
Dalton is the only member of LSE with a starter so far, and he makes it three with Oman. Bramley gets in on the act with Vivien Westwood, and LSE begin to pull away thanks to an excellent buzz of ceteris paribus by Nyang. Another economics question though. If one were minded to create conspiracy theories one would have a good place to start. But of course, I’m not minded to do that.
Get On With It!
Nyang is on a roll now and adds another with Triassic, but the music starter goes to Leicester’s Lister, keeping them in it. Gowland takes his second of the evening with Marriage of Figaro, and they dawdle on the bonuses, prompting Rajan to tell them to hurry up and give themselves a chance at a high score.
At this point they are only 35 points behind with more than ten minutes left, so I think Rajan is getting ahead of himself.
Either that or he knew what was going to happen next because LSE ended the match with a 125–25 run, blowing Leicester away and stranding them 25 points below the high-scoring loser spots.
Pole Position
On the rare occasion that they managed to get a starter, Leicester struggled with the bonuses. A set of flags in Formula 1 sees them leave with nothing. Two are relatively easy (yellow and blue) for people who have a passing understanding of F1, and they don’t have a clue about those.
But they almost managed the hardest one, giving ‘black flag with an orange square’ rather than ‘black flag with an orange circle’. I have no idea how they guessed their way so close to the correct answer on that one. I’ve been watching F1 for 25 years and I don’t remember ever having seen that flag.
Beeden brings Leicester into triple figures with four, as in the regnal number shared by the consecutive monarchs George IV and William IV. Before the show was broadcast he told the BBC:
“It’s always something I have wanted to do. It’s quite surreal actually because I got the chance to see how it all worked behind-the-scenes” “I have a very rare form of dwarfism, and you do not see people with visible disabilities on the show,” “It really inspires people who do not fit the stereotypical mould to really try and achieve these things. That’s really inspirational.”
With the match sewn up, LSE are commanding on the buzzer, racking up an impressive score that will mark them a dangerous side going into Round 2.
LSE 235–100 Leicester
With only one game left in the first round, St Andrews and UCL are confirmed in the high-scoring loser play-offs. At least one, possibly 2, of Liverpool, UEA and Leeds will be joining them.
SOAS or St Edmund Hall will make it in even if they lose so long as they score 130 or more. See you next week for that match.

CJL LIVE BLOG SEASON 1 [EPISODE 2]
Hi. I had an exam on 28th and I had promised my mother that I won't write anything before that. So. Now. Come. Let'z begin :)
1.) So. Now is the time for their sweet re-union. Badshah & Deva. Deva fishes out a harmonica and starts playing 'their' melody which is also an instrumental of the titular song.
2.) Badshah, instantly, recognizes the tune and starts running towards its source, Deva as well comes down running towards him while playing it, with tears rolling down his eyes.
3.) Ok. So. Now. Badshah is doing nakhre. He wants to have a race to a tree at the hilltop. Deva mocks Badshah of his old age and inability to run at full speed. He warns him not to cheat and to start running only at the count of three. (Tho he himself breaks the rules in the next moment. Lol.)
4.) They are about to reach the hilltop and Deva realizes he is loosing, so, he takes a long-ass high jump and lands on the tree, altho the camera could not hide the actuality of the scene but theek hai itna toh chalta hai.
5.) Deva is hanging down a branch and is gloating of his victory but the branch breaks off and he falls down the hill to the-waterfall?-lake?-water body. Whatever.
6.) And, now, we get a glimpse of his trauma getting triggered due to him going underwater. We see the impact of the trauma has been huge on him too, by the line as well as the way, he says it, "Haan haan tu jeeta aur......main haar gaya."
7.) We, along with Badshah, get a glimpse of his tortured past. He(Badshah) tries to sooth and comfort him but Deva brushes it off by saying that this was the reward for trying to bring a smile on someone's face, he continues, the wounds have healed but the pain is still there.
8.) And, we are instantly taken to that certain someone who, he was talking about, moments ago. Mujhariya ji? Or? Bhojariya ji? They didn't keep track of that name. (¬_¬)
9.) Tara has. Oh. Hi Tara. So. Tara has returned home but she kept searching for Badshah, the whole day, as it is night time now. She has badgered (-Bho/Mu-)jhariya ji the whole day, he is exasperated and tells her to not disturb him as he has no knowledge of the person, who has bought Badshah.
10.) So. We hear someone shouting at the top of their lungs, asking for their 'accounts ki file' and we see Baba throw- Oh. Hi Baba. Long time no see. Hope you are fin-i think not. Did you too find something strange in Baba's behavior? Like. Wasn't he, a self-centered, stuck up 'Sehgal' all those years back? Yeh kab se Tara ki baat manne lage? Something's wrong with him, i think. Whatever.
11.) So. Tara hands him those yellow flowers from the gardens of their ex-house. Lol. Ex-house. And Baba calms down, considerably.
12.) We see Tara leaves Baba inside the room and goes to clean the now-broken expensive lamp of her chachi. Chachi warns her to tell off her Baba to be careful with the things of this house as it is their house(Chacha and Chachi's). Btw, what's with Chachi's over make-up and heavy saree? She didn't go anywhere? Did she? No? Then why the over dressing? Lol. Whatever.
13.) Oh. So. Chachi takes rent from these two. To give them space in 'their' house. To give shelter to their OWN big brother? Like? Blood related BIG BRO? Wow. Just wow. And, she orders Tara to give her additional five thousand along with the monthly rent, for the loss of that goddamn lamp. Chachi, be grateful that she has the grace to give that money, had i been at her place, i would have given you a tight slap. Now. Shut the f*ck up Chachi. You understand? STFU CHACHI.
Not-so-fun Fact : Why are all the Chacha's and Chachi's of the ITV universe doing the GREAT wrong deed / the GREAT injustice? First Arnav's chachaji and now these idiots (also chachas and chachis)? Like? Wtf is wrong with them? Whatever.
14.) Aha. See? I told you. Baba is ill, y'all.
15.) Tara pleads chachi to -understandably- show some mercy to her father but chachi backfires.
16.) Oh. So. I was right again. Chacha and chachi are going for a party thrown by some 'maaldaar investor'. Lol. What was with that shitty woofing at the end. Lol. Whatever.
17.) Hold on, y'all. Let me take a water break.
*takes a two minute time-out*
*returns back* Ok. Let's resume.
18.) Papa is ill. But brother is still the same. Asshole. You noticed how papa has softened towards Tara now? I actually feel sad for Tara. This poor little kid lost so much so soon. And, now she is the one taking care of her ill father and reckless brother. Because Rohan has to get paid to look after his ill papa for ONE FREAKING DAY. Humphf. Shit-hole of a brother.
Not-so-Fun Fact : They highlighted his gold gleaming ring and the watch on his left hand when he asked about his return gift for 'papa-sitting' which means Tara was the only one who gave those to him or at least she was the one to pay the bill. My poor little baby Tara.
LoOoOol. Again, that Sehgal Promise. Bro, the last time you gave your 'Sehgal Promise', you almost traumatized Tara. Just spare her with that shit-ass of a promise of yours and take care of your father, you jobless leech.
19.) Tara has been made part of the event today night, which is probably, being hosted by Deva and he can't wait to start on his revenge, the moment he was waiting for, for the last fifteen years.
20.) Lol. Deva is in love. Yeah. Kind of. The man has everything around him which keeps reminding him of Tara. He really loves her, actually. Had kind of fallen for her all those years back. It's just he has this misunderstanding that Tara had the heart to betray him so when he comes to know the truth he will actually end up taking revenge from those accused Sehgals for his and Tara's tortured past.
21.) Ok. So. Deva in black. His car in red. (Tara in red. Lol. I saw in the thumb nail.)
22.) Ok. So. Wow. The entry. Both of them together. In the chand's light. That? Was? So? Freaking? Beautiful? Like? Wtf?
P.S. : So. Yeah. As I said. I am loving this show. The ending scene was perfect. It was so goddamn beautiful. Wow. Everything was perfect. Deva in black, Tara in red. Btw it was kinda surprising that Tara's chacha-chachi were in black while she in red(You know how it goes in some shows. The whole family is given the same color combination.) But it is also fitting because both of them are the black shadows in Tara's life while Deva, also in black, was given a see-through shirt underneath the coat, so I guess it was to show that he won't be completely black, like, black in the surface but his love for Tara would also be very much visible, just like his own skin is. Whatever. I over-analyzed the thing which did not need any analyzing. Lol. Whatever. Ok. Bye. God bless you.
#Tara-Deva#DevRa#Chand Jalne Laga#CJL#Loved the episode dammit#I am back#had an exam#might have another in the next month#let's see#ok#bye y'all folks#shubh prabhat/ratri#whatever#lol#Btw did you notice one thing#that brother rohan last time when he gave his sehgal promise and pushed tara to the ultimate limit of her grief#tara got deva in her life#and now after all these years when he again gave his SP#dayum#Deva is back in her life#i guess his SP is not all that panauti then#ok bye

Jane Hudson needs to go. I really won’t understand ITV keeping her after the humiliation of getting nothing at the British soap award. I believe an executive producer can only survive one slump. The writing did get better with Marlon’s stroke after being atrocious ever since the last year of Robron and Ryan Hawley and Danny Miller departure. However this past year has been awful, they doomed so many characters and made them hated by the viewers which caused the actors to immediately leave when their contract was up (Marcus and Naomi). I think they didn’t appreciate the actor of Marcus leaving with the way his departure was introduced, I heard the more awful the departure is, the more it means the producers didn’t like the actor’s leaving and to get revenge, they are writing the worst ending. You can see they tried to make Paddy depression and attempt to take his life to get awards buzz, because they hoped that they would get the same reaction than Marlon’s stroke. Dominic Brunt is a fantastic actor but there’s nothing he could do with non-existent writing of his storyline. I felt it barely lasted 5 episodes… he disappeared, was found by Marlon and Chas, was being looked after, they had the all-male episode and then he went to the reunion and that’s it, storyline over. And then the ongoing storyline that nobody cares about, I mean, can’t they read the room, Chloe is really not liked, Mac had a promising start but now people had enough with him and everyone is waiting for Charity to get back with Vanessa. Let’s not start with Wendy and Liam, they are really trying to group characters with no attach to anyone together. Most importantly, where the hell are Arthur and Marshall, it’s been a month and we got nothing since they got together, it was one of the sole storyline that attracted viewers attention recently.
I seriously believe that Jane Hudson and all of the people responsible for Emmerdale sinking to the lowest they had ever been. I know they pride themselves in having three women in charge but I am sorry but for what, every female character end up pregnant, they are making them being everybody’s girl and honestly we don’t talk enough about it but the influx of pretty boys who also can’t act has exploded since she became the executive producer. At some point, it seem really unprofessional from her. When was the last time an Abercrombie and Fich model was not introduced as a new character ? Where are the new families or the relatable characters ? The upcoming storyline look atrocious, nobody knows how to do a whodunnit anymore, it’s always about characters that no one care about.
wow tell me how you really feel anon 😉
I'm not sure Jane is the only problem at emmerdale at the moment... but yeah - something's gotta change.
Marlon's stroke was really well done but they can't keep using that for the awards. Paddy's depression and attempted suicide were horrendous. Paddy is depressed about his wife cheating on him and planning to take his daughter away from him when running away with the other guy, and Chas made it all about her. SHE had to be with Eve, SHE felt sorry for herself because Paddy wanted a divorce, SHE went crying to Caleb when The Family didn't want to talk to her... and the all male episode? I don't even remember it... it was a whole load of nothing.
I adored Mack when he was first introduced - his happy go lucky nature, the flirty banter with Aaron, and in the beginning with Charity... but then they flicked a switch and he was suddenly mister domestic with Charity... and now he's all about the baby and Chloe... I mean... Chloe has as much personality as that baby? She was introduced as the weird surrogate daughter for Kerry and the rich girl friend for Sarah who didn't know the meaning of the word boundaries. Then she slept with Noah, Nate, and then suddenly Mack and they shoved a baby at her. And the other young mothers in the village? 0 interaction apart from Amy every now and then to tell her "you're his mam". Why can't she talk to Amelia about being a young (single? I don't remember if Noah and Amelia ever got back together) mother, or Vic who supposedly lives in the same house?
and Amy and Matty are ENGAGED yet their relationship gets 0 focus. It's all about Chloe and the baby and Matty is allowed to walk around in the Hop a bit and sort of talk about/with his mother every now and then. I saw an insta post from Ash earlier that he's been on the show for FIVE YEARS... but after his initial introduction/moira accepting him and the five minute toxic masculinity story, they've done nothing with Matty. Even the relationship with Amy gets no focus - their engagement was the first time they even kissed on screen! (i know they got together during the first covid lockdown/social distancing but there were work arounds for that - camera trickery, real life partners as stand ins, etc) In this time where trans people are being attacked (either physically or via legislation) emmerdale could choose to show a trans man in a loving relationship preparing for his upcoming marriage to his long term girlfriend... but they do... everything but.
As for the Caleb stuff - I doubt he actually dies. They made such a show of getting Will Ash on board, I don't think they're going to kill Caleb off just like that and let Kim just "win". Nicky will probably be a suspect, Kim, Will, the entire dingle fam... and watch it be that Adrian guy he introduced last night.
Sigh.
There is so much potential with these characters, and even with the storylines they choose to run... but they only run them into the ground. Characters and actors who vibe well together (Naomi and Marlon, Marcus and Noah) just never interact after one or two scenes... and Ethan is just... nowhere to be found? When his grandmother (who he supposedly knows) just rocked up in the village? He's a lawyer, couldn't he have helped her with her housing situation?? Where's emile? Is he still on the show or has he left too?
Just... hire me emmerdale, I have ideas!

Regarding the lady carer on the pics. Yes she was looking after Anne's father. Anne referred to her in some detail during the interview on UK ITV programme Lorraine back in December 2019 saying she had been a huge help. She also was invited to HES cousin Ella's wedding because grandad went there (just before Covid I believe). There was some footage of the wedding on Ella's YT channel.
Ella's wedding was smack dab in the middle of COVID (after vaccines) because people were freaking out over whether Harry Edward Styles would bring Girl Boss, which, I mean, of course, he didn't.
It's one thing to bring her to Jeff's wedding 5 minutes after they started dating, but it's quite another to bring her to his cousin's wedding after they'd been dating almost a year. LOL
That was just more confirmation that the only one reason they went so public so fast was because someone had dirt, and they were getting in front of a cheating scandal.

(1) Hi, I need to vent about something quickly. It's nothing super major, it's related to an ITV show that I was watching till today. I know you stopped watching BALH2 after the first two episodes, and honestly it's good that you stopped. After episode 75, the show stopped really being a mature love story in any way. Quick recap of how badly things devolved: Priya's father ended up being the person who killed Ram's father in a car accident many years ago. Her mother covered up his involvement +
Priya's older sister, Sara had a husband, Varun who was also involved in the accident. Sara's son Eshan also ended up pushing Shivina off a flight of stairs in anger, and she hit her head and died on the same day as Ram's death anniversary. Priya lied about what happened and went to jail to protect Eshan. She found out she was pregnant and lied to Ram that she cheated on him because Nandini told her to. After that, the post leap episodes became very toxic, because the writers made Priya the female version of those toxic MCP characters you usually see in ITV, and they tried to pass it off as feminism. Anyways, she and Ram were killed off in today's episode and I'm really sad, because I really loved Ram. I started watching the show for him during a point in my life where my mental health was at a low point, and I saw bits of myself in him. I'm struggling with depression, and watching Ram die was really hard. Can you give me some advice for how to deal with this?
Phew, that's quite a ride. But very on brand for Tellywood shows and how they go. 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️
I perfectly understand watching a show as a coping mechanism during a low point in life; this blog came out of that very habit of mine. It's sometimes hard to let go of characters you're so attached to, even though they're fictional.
Everyone copes differently, but here's what I do: I go back and watch the happier episodes of that character that mean something to me. And I read fic that aligns with my idea of the character. And also start watching something else. Slowly and surely, you'll make your peace with this character!
Also, please do open up to your loved ones about your depression, and try and get professional help if you can. Fiction is fine as something to make you feel better/feel anything during a bad mental health period, but please don't use it to avoid reality; you must do the actual work that needs to be done to tackle this issue.
Sending you lots of love and support! 🤗🤗🤗🤗

Hammer House of Mystery and Suspense - Last Video and Testament / Very Much Alive (Official Clip)
A wealthy businessman suspects his much younger wife of cheating on him. When his weak heart forces him to have a risky surgery he leaves a videotaped last will and testament - with a sadistic twist.
Hammer House of Mystery and Suspense, aired in the United States as Fox Mystery Theater, is a British mystery anthology television series produced in Britain in 1984 by Hammer Film Productions. Though similar in format to the 1980 series Hammer House of Horror, the Mystery and Suspense series had feature-length episodes, usually running around 70 minutes without commercials.
The series was a co-production by Hammer Film Productions with 20th Century Fox Television (as was the 1968 anthology series Journey to the Unknown). It was first aired in the UK by ITV in 1984, though it was shown in different timeslots (and a different running order) throughout the various ITV regions.
