M!R who's suddenly got all these new instincts they don't know how to handle.

now obviously they'll avoid being rude but they can't help but want to groom their companions, so they're always dusting their shoulders, rearranging a backpack, or picking things off them like leaves and grass.

Wukong LOVE'S this, man's touch starved and now he's being groomed? Like properly? Man's in heaven (lol) When wukong starts grooming them back M!R IS SO HAPPY and doesn't even know why but it's NICE

Now, since M!R is based off of me, she's already a pretty touchy person (her love language is physical touch, to boot!), so think normal human social touching just CRANKED to 11! Poor reader is gonna have such a hard time keeping her hands off of everyone out of respect, she's gonna drive herself bonkers!

Once she meets Wukong she's gonna be touch-starved herself. 0_o Can't exactly be hanging off of a monk's shoulders or picking through his non-existent hair (lol).

Like in the original ittw fic, she'll be hanging with Wukong at the bottom of the mountain, though mostly because she's assigned to keep an eye on the trapped monkey, and totally just goes ham on the grooming. Like, this man is POLISHED... in the areas she can reach.

I'm sure it wouldn't take Wukong long to start grooming her back, either, considering they're both going on the same journey.

Bro, what if... They just start sleeping next to each other? Like a communal sleeping pile? God, that'd be adorable. I'm all for the cuddles! (That's it, that's cannon. They sleep in a 2-person cuddle pile before romance starts)

GOD THATS SO ADORABLE. This is how I’m literally writing M!R in my au fic for ittw too so the coincidence is hilarious lmao. I also really like the idea of Sun Wukong being like ���You have a home with me now, don’t be sad!” to Reader and she just looks at him and cries.

(I didn’t really make demon monkey reader but i like to think that i made it popular totally by accident, so seeing this made me extremely happy)

I love the idea of Monkey!Reader for many reasons but like, imagine an isekai’d monkey reader (or just one without a home to return to) who is lamenting not being able to go home (whether or not because it’s simply not possible or because there’s no way they can go home as a monkey) only to be met with Wukong who just like…casually flicks their ear or somethin and goes “Your a Sun now. Sun Y/N. Bam. Now you have a home.”

Like he’s super protective of the monkeys on his own mountain and considers every single one of them to be his family so I think he’d just immediately call dibs on M!R (or any other monkey in need of a home for that matter)

One of the only times when the role is reversed… Wukong being the one who soothes and calms M!R while she sleeps. She doesn’t know that he does that though, and Wukong kinda wants to keep it that way, at least for now.

In the middle of the night

M!R: (Having a nightmare) *Chirping noises*

Wukong: (Puts M!R’s head on his lap and strokes her hair, calming her down)

M!R: (Totally oblivious to what happened last night) Man, I had such a weird dream. You were in it, Wukong!

Wukong: Yeah? *Fucking SWEATING BULLETS*

In the beginning M!R is a bit of a damsel in distress when it comes to most threats, though mostly due to everyone else in the group underestimating her.

Then, at one point, she kicks some serious demon ass after being captured and everyone is like "wOT?"

Tripitaka be like: "Oh yeah, she's like really strong for some weird reason."

Pigsy and Sandy: "and you didn't think to TELL US?"

Tripitaka just shrugs: "Didn't need to."

Wukong: "I'm TELLING you, SHE'S A DEMON!!"

I made a monkey version of your reader! (Though you totally caught me the minute I asked for your favorite color combination)

The color combination was for the clothes. It took a while with the style of hanfu I decided to go with, though maybe I should have just made it a solid color hanfu ahahaha ٩(× ×)۶

I was gonna have the hair be exactly the same but I wanted to pay homage to your sona so I added little hair buns! (inspired by roses!) Hair color was color picked from one of your drawings haha. The twin tails in the back also curl around each other, but I couldn't show that in this pose. ʅ( °ヮ°)ʃ

From what I've seen from your ittw posts, your reader is more of an 'innocent' type so I went ham on the cuteness! Cute dress, cute hairstyle, innocent and cute-ass eyes!

Speaking of eyes, I was thinking your demon eye color would be blue! Entirely based off of the colors you gave me and nothing else. (Also blue is just REALLY pretty with auburn hair, like, seriously)

I have no idea if people were actually wondering why my M!R squints/kept her eyes closed all the time, and I'll level with you: I have no clue either. It was honestly just a design decision over a story one because I thought it looked mysterious ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

BUT HEY, why don't we make some different head-cannons for *why* she does this. Feel free to make your own up and add to the list or just use one of the ones here for your own monkey!reader!

Head-Cannons

• Reader just doesn't like her eye color, she thinks her red eyes are unnatural.

• Uncontrollable laser eyes.

• Reader's eyes glow which freak people out.

• Her eyes are just squinty.

• Reader can literally curse people just by looking at them in her true form.

Taking a break before I start the next chapter. Once Sun Wukong has been introduced in the story I'll post the chapters in one BEEG batch.

So the new plan is this:

Chapter 1 is to introduce Monkey!Reader to the world and show that she can transform into an all-powerful demon.

Chapter 2 is M!R's existential crisis on their way to the Hunter's cabin, all the while Tripitaka is still trying to find her family. (Whom he'll never find-)

HOPEFULLY chapter 3 introduces Sun Wukong trapped underneath Five Phases Mountain, but depending on how long I could pad out chapter 2 I might have to merge the two chapters.

Honestly after that I have no idea what to do because I literally can't remember what happens next. (Time to go back to the OSP videos-) Maybe I should do some prompts as a warmup for stuff like this lmaoooo (　；∀；)

Hey, ✨ anon! I’m doing good :) hopefully you are too!

M!R would definitely eat the same, other than the forced vegetarian diet. She’s not a monk, though, so she would go out hunting for better protein (much to Tripitaka’s dismay).

Fruit would be a dessert to her, and if she didn’t control herself she would GORGE on them. Her favorites are strawberries and plums. Peaches are okay, though she’s not a fan of the furry skin and the apple-like cronch.

She isn’t the best cook either, and she HEAVILY dislikes harming mammals (because, damn they’re so cute but taste so good) so she goes fishing whenever she can instead. Easier to kill a fish than a bunny, y’know?

I've been thinking about monkie! Reader going through 'baby steps' when they're first Isekai'd and I gotta share.

M!r, stumbling around because their feet are a different shape and shoes don't feel right anymore,

Stepping on their own tail and accidentally grabbing stuff with it,

You know when your nails are long it's harder to pick stuff up? M!r, is STRUGGLING with her new claws (probably scratching herself on accident too)

They probably smack themselves in the face a few times when picking smthn up cuz they're not used to demon strength

M!r, CANNOT jump or hop properly, they keep over doing it and either smacking their head like Mario or slipping off of whatever they were tryna get over

I literally was planning on writing out this exact scenario in my M!R ittw comic lol.

Honestly, I'd imagine a lot of possible romantic scenarios between Sun Wukong and M!R (possibly even others? winkwonk) because of her clumsiness. M!R wouldn't actually tell anyone that she wasn't originally a demon, and would most likely keep herself disguised as human (for comfort, mostly) but, of course, Sun Wukong would go to Tripitaka and be like "dude she's a demon yk" and Tripitaka would obviously be really dumb and be like "pssssshhaaaww, you dumb, it's a human girl!"

Queue the regular fight between Triptaka and Sun Wukong because Tripitaka won't listen to SWK because Reader OBVIOUSLY looks human. All the more to keep herself as a human in the group. After a while on the journey, I assume, Tripitaka would find M!R's clumsy behavior to be really weird with the constant bashing her face while trying to pick up objects, scratching herself by accident, having incredible strength, going a lot faster and jumping a lot higher than a human really should... Leading to a beautiful scene where M!R would have to reveal themselves to the group and the group accepting her because they went so far with her already, she's practically part of their family now! (And then she steps on her tail immediately and cries from pain, resulting in her having to explain that she wasn't originally a demon, but telling a lie that she was cursed to be one. She doesn't know how she became a demon, after all.)
