That's Right #lackadaisy #WHICH i have been reading since at least '07 when i was thirteen my god b/c this animation is based on the ongoing webcomic #like does its influence show up Directly in some Discrete way i can point to in my art? not very easily probably. And Yet.#the inspiration....i wasn't able to be Regularly Only for at least another year / art done Nonprofessionally Online was novel to me #like wow ppl can make & post fanart of w/e they love huh....didn't know webcomics were a thing & i never really read that many since but.#good god the quality of Lackadaisy at its onset is like this is superb?? this person putting in all their talent and effort???#and Then you get years & years more art and i don't even know what superlatives to throw out abt its quality as it evolves. obsessed w/it..#if i see a new lackadaisy comic page i Will be acting out. obviously this animation is a delight & also stunning. and fascinating to also #juxtapose as a Translation / Interpretation of the comic in a different medium & standalone snippet of Story #and that we're not even quite there in the comic timeline; Taking Notes abt character info we get distilledly here....genuinely love like #take it back to '07 i'm like oh boy can't wait for the dream team to assemble. then a decade later when it did? You know that feeling where you have ideas. So many ideas. Too many ideas. And they all would take way too much time that you don't have if you actually wanted to execute them. So you just sit there giving yourself a headache because you cant decide where to start? Love that feeling. And by love, I mean I want to take my brain out of my skull and wring it like a wet sponge.

#and so i sit here making myself mad. today the plant ppl have my ire #which isnt fair bc plants r unappreciated but also like ur study organism couldnt exist as it is without fungi and bacteria. which are WAY #more underappreciated. which isnt the plant ppls fault but also i watched like 10 plant photosynthesis videos yesterday #and not a single one mentioned that plants do photosynthesis bc they consumed a cyanobacteria. they always go: and some bacteria can also do #photosynthesis! and thats it. and im like ??? endosymbiosis is so cool? y would u not mention it??? like plants didnt develop a way to do #photosynthesis. they just captured a photosynthetic organism. the plant bias in photosynthesis is so huge and it makes me irrationally #defensive. its like theyre stealing photosynthesis glory XD they've got photosynthesis clout but only bc they stole it lmao #idk its funny that it makes me so frustrated but it's sorta baffling to me how plant focused plant ppl r when plants rely so much on #bacteria and fungi. i mean i guess thr same could b said for animals. especially those with robust endosymbionts. idk i guess its just bc im #and ecologist and microbe person im baffled when ppl think about organism as one thing rather than a system of things #anyway. im mad bc i have things that i want to write and read and draw plus the things i have to do for school. and im doing none of #those things and its bullshit #unrelated

Being a human is literally like this weird combo of being okay and not okay that goes on forever except there is also death

#(i'm fine)#(personally) (mostly) (really)#this has just been an absolutely terrible year for our planet and its people and animals #and it's fucking insane that as an american living in relative safety and comfort and experiencing the pleasures and guilt of that...#...i can experience this horrible yet ENTIRELY SURVIVABLE blend of acute pain over so many things at once #including war and genocide and the utter hopelessness of that #and also things like being really really sad that matthew perry's life was so hard and he died #and also so many bad and weird things have happened to family members this year but we mostly have the resources to come together and deal #which is amazing and bolstering and exhausting #and my brain still has space to be excited about writing and numb to writing and angry/impotent about writing #desperate for feedback yet private and retreat-y and weird #always hoping to hit upon The Perfect Thing :-/#and i live in a place that basically is not a democracy any more and also the u.s. is so cursed we've never been what we said we were #so a lot of my own perceived safety is incredibly fragile #but still so much more solid than what the people i am mourning for had #and none of the comparisons make a lick of sense and are in and of themselves deeply unfair #to the point that it's humiliating to feel guilt (making it about me) and simultaneously humiliating that i don't feel guilt *constantly*#and i have therapy this week but also this deep sense that while my therapist will be a fine person to talk to it will feel unuseful #i've always been a muddle of optimism and pessimism and i am very adamant that life is super beautiful and this is precisely why...#...all the violence in the world is so brutally devastating #it's just that the casserole of all these thoughts feels increasingly horrible #and feeling that way is 100% sane #and even intersectional frameworks and intentional attempts at gentleness only get you so far in the grapple #for meaning and for ideas of what to do #so i end up contacting my reps about various awful things #and zooming in and out on my fixations and having excellent days and terrible days #often dependent on what feels like a camera setting i only partially control #and i'm sure i'm not alone in feeling embarrassed that deep empathy and grief for people i've not met somehow ends up being...#...at least a sliver about ME and my little world #about me

honestly i really gotta respect gotouge for not really going into romance. like yeah we know the main guys have love interests but its not really that big a deal because the focus is on the friendships and the whole siblings thing . which honestly??? respect. its actually quite refreshing. hell yeah best friends and siblings

and this is old news now but my own perspective on the project sekai miku movie as a mobile game outsider who just likes some of the tunes - all i really hope for is that i'll be able to follow the plot somewhat with my very limited knowledge because it does look like it'll be a fun watch. i know there is like dimensions. the dimensions include: alt rock world. depression world. carnival world? etc. furirn and tomoriru voice characters. i like the trans one in depression world. and the little orange guy in EDM world.

#i also like the one voiced by akina. who i only know because of utaite reasons LOL i like her voice #i also like the voice of the loud blonde boy. i like that hes loud #and the girl with long dark hair from alt rock world has a nice voice too #sorry. this will be my knowledge. im cursed with mobage. i used to be able to handle it #but now even if this game ran on my phone i know i would skip the cutscenes 😔😔😔😔😔#NOT because theyre bad or anything im sure theyre good. but i dunno i straight up do Not have the patience for mobage progression anymore #and i also dont like watching videos of visual novels so watching the stories online is also out. i will only learn the plot if 1)#they release a commercial console port of the game with mobage progression tweaked out OR #2) much more likely it gets a full anime adaptation someday. which i'd be intrigued!#although then we will also reach my other issue. inability to watch a show no matter how much i want to #ITS NOT as dire as my mobage blockage tho like i can push myself. i will have fun. but i am le scared. what if a show kills me. ?#no one suffers more than i. the person who loves big glossy anime idol-y music franchises but cannot play mobage or watch anime.

I'm really glad that Sega has allowed Amy to move out of her harassment phase re: her crush on Sonic, because the way she was written back in the late 90s / 00s with regards to her crush on him is not only uncomfortable and not okay behavior (continuing to push yourself on someone after they've said "no" isn't okay even when you're a girl pushing yourself on a boy), but was also really detrimental to her character. Not only did it give people a negative impression of her (her obsessing over Sonic being her boyfriend / marrying her is remembered more often by casual fans than her actual stories in those games), but it also runs contrary to the fact that Amy has always been a kindhearted, compassionate, empathetic person. We see her compassion and empathy with other characters in those same games (wanting to save Birdie from Gamma, reminding Shadow of his actual promise to Maria, helping Cream and Big find Chocola and Froggy), so to then have her turn right around and completely ignore Sonic's feelings / boundaries because of her crush is just . . . bad. It's a bad look, and bad writing. And I don't hold it against her, any more than I hold instances of Tails having bad writing against him. These are fictional characters, they're beholden to their writers. But it's still not great and I'm really glad that Sega has realized that having Amy harass Sonic isn't funny or cute, and has instead allowed her to treat him like she does the rest of her friends: with the kindness, compassion, and empathy she's known for.

FUCKING. GLAD. that Sega got their heads out of their asses & didn't go that route w/ Amy #i would still prefer Sonic to always remain single bc I'm an aroace Sonic truther - but at least we won't be in a timeline where #Amy just ''wore him down'' - bc she hasn't harassed him like that for years now. she calmed down & they have a friendship #so if they DO make the ship overt it'll be bc she calmed down so Sonic was able to develop feelings naturally #versus she wore him down with the harassment. & her behavior in the 90s / aughts games WAS harassment #but back then it was considered cute & funny in anime (bc again - girls aren't threatening teehee /gag) so. it was what it was #i'm just glad things are different now
