had a realization bear WITH me for the angst of it all-

i saw someone mention that hoyoverse has been keeping Sethos oddly relevant ever since he came out. obviously this made me realize, huh, yeah, they've brought him up a lot. his first appearance, the sabzeruz, wanderer's b-day art, and now he's gonna get a pose in the imaginarium theatre's next update. i honestly don't remember them keeping a 4-star relevant for this long.

which, y'know, obviously this would imply that hoyoverse has plans. which is when it hit me.

Sethos losing his piece of godly power mirrors Wanderer losing the electro gnosis. we all know this.

the next place we're going to is Nod-Krai, and we've been told that's Dottore's main base. Dottore specifically did a lot of experiments with dead god remains and all that- i will admit, i'm not an expert on this area, but like,

is. it not. really similar to what Sethos and Cyno got. is that not something Dottore would be interested in.

not to mention Sethos has like. a whole bunch of secret information that's been hidden from the rest of the world for an extended period of time.

am i crazy? am i insane? would they really make Wanderer get involved in the Nod-Krai arc by having Dottore/Dottore's men attack the Temple of Silence? or more specifically attack/kidnap Sethos??? i feel nuts. i feel insane. someone talk some sense into me-

I talked with a friend at LENGTH about how insane I am about Meowth as a concept in Pokémon a few days back and it’s been sitting in my head but like.

(see: Litten in Sun and Moon)#and paradoxically…#even though he’s teamed with a guy whose Pokémon are all asked PERMISSION of to join their team (James)#his Human coworkers see him as another human and therefore would never DREAM he has Domestic Pokémon Desires.#like…HOW IS THAT NOT GUTTING?!#Meowth just wants someone to choose him #to the point where even the people who have chosen and accepted him kind of aren’t enough #I mean he wields a Z-ring and acts as a trainer even in Alola Region!#I just have so many feelings about Meowth okay?#and his insecurities about being raised poor and never learning PayDay (which is implied to be the Team Rocket Moneymaker) so he has to work #the one time he gets to be ‘owned’ is with Bewear and Bewear treats all of team rocket as its babies #so it doesn’t even count and he never even gets pulled into a lap and pet and told everything’s going to be okay #I HAVE SO MANY FEELINGS ABOUT MEOWTH #he’s not the only Pokémon that can speak! proseka movie was a fun experience. I brought the creature and mizuki. unfortunately no poster or standee displays at my location to take pictures with though 💔

#the movie is okay. overall nothing spectacular imo but it handles the source material as well and faithfully as it could I feel #almost so faithfully that it wounds the runtime a bit by dragging out some parts as some project sekai stories tend to do but whatever #im only fully caught up to nightcord and one year into the rest of the group side stories but I still understood what was going on. so yay #honestly the animated recap shorts they released for journey to bloom could've been played before the movie. that might help newcomers idk #gkids did something like that for promare's release here a few years ago. I wonder why they chose not to for this... strange #mizuki an and ena were in it quite a bit though so im satisfied :] no spoilers but there's some cool stuff it does with the sekai lore too #hopefully one day a movie just about vocal synths will be made somehow. this made me want one even more #not that I dislike proseka but I would like a non-gacha game associated miku/vocaloid movie someday. if that at all would be possible #this movie's message could've stood on its own when told through vocal synths instead of the ocs instead but I digress...#this was still easily one of the most lively moviegoing experiences ive had. I went to the last miku expo and it was comparable #not to the point that it was annoying! thankfully! it was a very packed premiere showing so I was worried a little #I forgot to bring my penlights for the after show... so I waved around the creature instead to not feel left out lol #(I was not alone by the way! lots of people brought plushies and penlights! there was also a lot of project sekai cosplayers)#still amused by the fact that deco wrote each of the group songs. I find them a little more likeable with context now #how many songs have they made recently. ive lost count #meow.txt

totk really is one of those games that make me go "ok thanks for the characters, setting, and general plot, but ill take it from here <3" because the entire historical timeline had so much potential for interesting and nuanced story telling but they just went with the old zelda story formula and YES thats how theyve always done it but botw was such a reset in terms of gameplay that they couldve overhauled how they handle story in totk. but they didnt

a little personal project i'm slowly chipping away at, thought it would be fun to make it into a chart that i add a doodle to every time i finish a new character so i can track how i'm going with it!

#clai speaks #clai's ocs #ignore the doodle of cyril though that isnt final. it was part of me Trying to come up with something for him so i just scribbled whatever #its not what i want him to look like but yhe doodle was so cute i wanted to keep it. maybe i'll turn it into a different oc idk #the laguardia siblings!!! and clear's here too ig #anyone who's been written here whether they have a design or name or not have some kind of character established already #like while i have a couple concepts for a rock trainer nothing is concrete yet so that spot remains empty for now #but even though chase doesnt even have a finalized name or position i know he's a gifted psychic who just uses his powers to do art #mago and colbur are brothers and run their gym together like tate and liza. first explicitly dual type gym!#(striaton gym not counted bc you only fight one of the triplets there)#chip and cassidy are also brother and sister #corey and kalin are cousins #mago and colbur run a berry farm and cafe. cole runs a pizza parlor. polly makes jewelry out of bug-type pkmn silk and stuff #cassidy's research centers on tm/hm development. unnamed dragon trainer is a costume designer #corey is an actor so good at her job people joke that she's being possessed by her characters. kalin is a mischievous ballet dancer #chip i'm pretty happy with. he's supposed to be like a youngster that grew up and became more experienced #he used to be shy before setting out on his journey but grew immensely from it and became champion #goes back to the first town and mentors the new trainers bc he knows how scary it is to set out on a journey for the first time #hides his champion status so that the kids aren't afraid to challenge him #i didnt want to go too detailled bc it is super late HSIBFIF I SHOULD HAVE BEEN ASLEEP LIKE THREE HOURS AGO #i just really want to share these bc these concepts have just been sitting in my notes for like a year?#over a year. i started this some time after making alto #point is i've been sitting on these ideas way too long but designing them so slowly i dont want to wait to talk about them anymore #this chart is so empty rn but i will finish it!!! one day!!!!

new pokemon episode!!!

#vi rambling #pokemon #this ep was great honestly... i kinda lowered expectations because i kinda... disliked last ep lol . a lot didnt make sense #but i really liked basagiri's characterisation and seeing more of lucius.. that flashback was really sweet and a lot can be inferred from i #and there were great moments direction wise. basagiri locking them in with the rock tomb and liko terastalizing were really great #i will say im a little disappointed it didnt last for one more episode? it felt a bit short lived in comparison to the others?#because the pacing was mostly spent on looking For basagiri. and when we finally find him ig all just feels pretty short.#honestly i think my biggest problem is perrin because as much as i wanted to like her her presence felt pretty unnecessary imo.#until now the series has done a shockingly very good job at implementing the game characters in a way that doesn't feel forced #but in this case it.... kind of is. i didnt feel like she did much other than providing the initial picture and her dynamic with the others #didnt stand out enough for me to feel like the characters gained anything from her presence. there was the cute moment with dot last ep #(which was honestly the highlight of the episode imo) but its very short and doesnt change much or provide much insight on perrin herself.#mostly sad the rest of the rising volteccers are being kinda shelved for this... which is transparently the intervention of gamefreak #wanting to promote the games. ehhhh whatever whatever. i cant decide if what would solve this would be perrin staying longer #or just writing her out. no clue.#anyways DIANA IS BACK LETS GOOOO. i will say seeing liko's growth is really satisfying and so is rhe rest of the kids #and this ep did a much better job at that than last episode because seriously im so... what was with that.#ITS FINE im not gonna be negative about last episode i enjoyed this one and thats what counts. i need episode 75 very badly #FOR THE THIRD TRAVELER REVEAL... i dont remember her name but . this sounds fascinating i NEED more of gibeon and lucius #from just the little information that is scattered and inferred... they fascinate me.#also i realize why lucius fascinates me so much.#something to do with... a kindhearted gentle looking hero of old.... with blue hair... who roams the land helping the people (or pokemon)#who sort of haunts the narrative as rhe character who's legendary legacy the main character is following after his journey has ended...#HMMMM.... HIMMEL CODED MUCH..........

Sorry, sorry, I'm speechless. I love Journey to the West??? I just did a quick search and found those are apparently the JP names for Tang Sanzang/Tripitaka and Sun Wukong. That's SO wild...

I mean this is a random note but I did read Tempest Night (love that it was basically an exhortation to Anzu and Eichi and if we're being generous the player to not overwork themselves to death) and I just really love ALL the references to classical works. I know it's a thing a lot of anime does but Enstars really does it liberally. First a lot of Shakespeare, then some philosophers whose names escape me, pretty sure they've (mis)quoted the Bible and other religious texts, and we can't not mention Kaguya-hime, and now we have Journey to the West?

Thank you for the information, first of all! And secondly, I will use this to pretend that I knew something drew me to Enstars as a whole. Liberal and sometimes questionable use of historical humanities texts, as usual.
