So here's my opinion on the whole Taylor/Brittany friendship & Taylor's politics in general:

I'm so sick of people begging her to take a side in this election. She's a singer songwriter she's not a politician she's not an activist it's her choice whether she wants to endorse a politician or speak up on political issues.

She doesn't owe ANYONE not even us Swifties a goddamn thing be grateful that she speaks up at all whether it's feminist issues, LGBT rights, mental health advocacy, issues regarding the music industry & the most important one (and better than any endorsement of a particular candidate) MAKING SURE PEOPLE ARE REGISTERED TO VOTE AND ARE EXERCISING THAT RIGHT!!! I rather her do that than choosing a side to support

I get that shes the biggest celebrity on the planet and having her voice does hold a lot of sway but the point is people need to shut the fuck up about her political silence It's none of our business what her views are or who she supports I mean be grateful that she speaks up at all

and in regards to her friendship with Brittany (or anyone else for that matter I remember when everyone freaked out about her going out with Matty Healy or we can go wayyy back to when she was friends with Lena Dunham and everyone kicked up a stink about that oh yeah I'm going there) we DON'T get to dictate who she associates herself with or who she's friends with its her life shes a grown woman in her 30s that is doing what she wants on her own terms she can make her own decisions shes a human being that makes mistakes all we are at the end of the day are fans of her music and her music has the added bonus of being relatable to our lives but we are NOT her best friends, we are NOT close to her its NOT our place to make any personal decisions in her life we can be critical yes but we don't have the right to judge and dictate what she does in her life.

So Brittany is a Republican so what?? That doesn't make her a bad person just because she has different political beliefs you can be friends and disagree that's called being an adult. Some fans need to grow up and learn to be respectful and grateful and this may sound harsh but some need to get offline for a bit and touch some grass if I'm being perfectly honest stop being such purists and perfectionists and let go of that parasocial BS you guys already got called out on "But Daddy I Love Him" and it seemed like it was well deserved if you ask me. They are friends learn to deal with it

this is OBVIOUSLY just a thought exercise, and brought up by the short women discourse that has been going around.

i stumbled upon this video yesterday and it made me think. this lady is a 22 year old woman that looks like a little kid bc she had cancer and it stunted her growth/development. she talks about how creeps hit on her etc, and the show shows her going on a few dates. its a tlc reality show so take it w a grain of salt lol but i do think it makes one think of whether a relationship such as this would be pedophilic like? from a semantics point, it cannot be so as the woman is not underage. but i do think its not a black and white issue tbh. i can see both sides. like obviously she has the right to a love/sex life, but also she does look like a child, and it rases the question of who will be attracted to someone who looks like a child? i think you could try making a parallel to when ppl say "omg who is going to date a little person", but to me personally it's different imo... would love to hear ur guys thoughts

my advice is to really stop and take of yourself when you need it & never apologise for it. 13 was my least favorite chapter of life so far so take it from me lol; your well being is extremely important and doing the things you like will keep u sane and safe inshallah

find a balance between studies and family life (if applicable lol both can be overwhelming sometimes ik) and sleep well. sleep. sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep. no all nighters or im personally travelling w my shibshib to bonk u on the head. sleep deprivation is the freakin worst im still recovering 3 year later from the damage i inflicted on myself lol in uni.

on that note pls minimise (or ditch altogether) energy drinks and coffee. idk what the kids are up to these days and whats cool or whatever, but i implore u to not go anywhere near them at least till u graduate (coffee is inevitable ik its a big part of the culture, but energy drinks pls never ever its not cool i promise).

drink water!! idk how my kidneys are still functioning lol, they deserve nobel peace prizes fr. drink as much liquids as u can (esp during the summer) and lots of water. no tea and juice dont count (sadly)

cant emphasise enough how much الصحبة الصالحة (good companionship) makes a world of difference and takes so much weight off ur shoulders. peer pressure is awful and really messed me up in hs so if u can find some good friends stick with them and help each other out. its really rewarding to have people who got ur back yk?

and if if if god forbid everyone sucks (it can happen) being alone as hard as it can be will ultimately be much better for ur mental health and peace of mind than any fake friendships could ever hope to be.

but worry not there is still lots to enjoy in life, esp the little things like flowers on the side walk or a nice cool breeze or a big glass of fresh mango juice lol. a kitty in the corner shop, someones smile, a new book u started, cool rocks u found in the park, and so much more.

being up to date with the news and keeping vigilant is important yes but so is ur mental health. take breaks when u need it. dont forget to boycott stuff and stick to local/ alternative products

also also, read somewhere that ibuprofen is a girls best friend lol: having a lil first aid/ essentials kit for ur school bag is great; plasters (band aids), pads, paracetamol (bc u can take it on an empty stomach not ibuprofen tho) was my go to, as well as pocket tissues (allergies amirite) and a packet of wipes bc things can get sticky lol. emergency snack(s) was the most important part lol. usually a piece of chocolate or something small and quiet i could smuggle under my desk XD

first aid tip: if u ever feel light headed have some dates on hand (like in a smol tupperware or sum) and nibble on it; the sugar elevates blood glucose and keeps u alert till u can get help. drink water pls

He sounded great and put on a great show, but he seemed a little low energy and not in chaotic playful mode- someone who was there described it as in his head a bit. I'm guessing he was not having a great day already and then it being the first of the fest appearances that maybe met his gloomy original expectations- definitely fans packing out the front rows but not a huge crowd otherwise- got to him more than it might have otherwise. But he's got today off, and another show tomorrow, hopefully both will be good resets and better days ahead!
