been drawing a sorta reference thingy for Salesman Barry in the timeloop au i've been rotating around in my brain for a while recently :] it isn't as much a character design reference as it is more of a reference for how Barry's mental state begins to deteriorate as he starts having intense deja vu and nightmares every time his timeline gets reset upon death and he tries to piece together what is going on out of pure desperation and instincts (he is being experimented on and doesn't know it yet). i want to throw him at a wall (affectionate)

it is still a WIP as i haven't drawn all the details yet and i want to change the colours as they look too dull on my pc,,, also here is the original sketch :D

This is so goading cause I could say the obvious and be like someone like the Courier but I generally have tow interpretations of this:

Someone who likes being his. Like possessive sounding I know but I think he'd like someone who's a flirt, a people person who doesn't stay put but has a strong sense of "home". I don't think Benny Gecko is poly but I also don't think this guy knows how to keep it in his pants so he can't expect his partner to either. He doesn't want you to be on his side like cling wrap but there's a mutual understanding of importance to each other. There a person who does their own thing but can find a way to incorporate him and he'd do the same but in a "Look at what I set up for us, Baby-doll."

A forward thinker. Benny likes a person of action, a person who gets things done or knows how to make a plan. He is ambitious, and determined, and he'd love to have a bird on his shoulder that helps him get things along. Like, if you ever seen the BTAS ep where Harley leaves Joker, and like he can't even remember to put on pants cause she took care of that stuff. But not toxic like that and also a bit more complex. Like he'd be head over heels for someone who moves the same way he does, a risk taker who also has a plan b and c.

I think in general he's the type to go after someone who reminds him of himself, well his positive qualities at least. Benny genuinely seems like the guy who needs a partner that he can talk to and share a philosophy with, someone who isn't just gonna agree but go back in forth in whatever aspect they share. Basically, you gotta create a feedback loop for him y'know. But in the same vein, this only applies to him. He's gotta bring this out in you and vice versa cause all in all Benny likes to feel smart and special and if they treated any pretty face with a sharp tongue the same way he'd probably immediately categorize them as a good candidate for friends with benefits but nothing special cause he's not.

After Jake married to son of a rich (old money) family, he and his husband live in a lovely villa nearby the sea and things are alright, they even have a little girl too until there's rumours about 'Rooster', a mysterious wealthy man and his fancy parties, it's like big carnivals and he hosts almost every people. He lives in a lovely mansion on the other side of the seashore right in front of Jake's house. One day they receive a formal invitation from Rooster (though Jake's husband doesn't like to go) so it's how Jake meets Bradley again💗 it's the beginning of their secret meetings and Bradley keeps asking Jake to leave 'that man' and live with Bradley. Bradley stops all those parties even fires his housekeepers and servants only because of Jake who wants to keep it secret between them..

It goes on and on for few weeks until Bradley buys Jake a lovely ring decorated by a green-blue gem💚 and purposes to him 'stay with me forever Jake, I love you'. Jake panics, says he needs time and leaves Bradley that night..

Two days passes when Jake gets a phone call, having bad news of Mr. Bradshaw badly injured in car accident and he may won't make it. Jake has a fight with his husband (he found out about him and Bradley) but he doesn't go to see Bradley at hospital..

he cooks, and he cleans, and he mucks out the stables, as is his duty now. cleans the fireplaces and feeds the animals. something happens in his youth, perhaps an accident with a gardening tool, which leaves his face scarred and disfigured, made all the worse because they dont bother to take him to a proper doctor. he treats it himself with shaking hands and no mirror, and it scars something viscious. but he's always been a dutiful child, and a dutiful child he remains.

he grows strong, and dependable, working quietly and dreaming of days past. until one day he hears of a masquerade ball being held at the castle, a celebration of the prince's 18th birthday(and what a coincidence, as he's just turned 18 himself a scant few months ago). every eligible person in the city is invited... if only he could find the time to go and dance for just a night...

Man actually the fact that time will keep passing and I will keep experiencing life and earning new memories over and over and over again until my dad is in the past wholly and entirely is so fucked up Actually. It's been half a year but it feels so fresh. But things will keep happening. I will keep growing. Life goes on. Maybe someday I'll adopt children. My dad will never know them. I can tell them about him but they'll never Know. I don't care about my grandpa who died before I was born at all. Granted he was an abusive alcoholic who drank himself to death. But guess who else drank himself to death? It'd be up to me to carry on his memory and like that's just so much pressure. I wish he was just fucking here himself to carry on his own memory. What the fuck.

Headcanon.

Reminder that Clint being covered in bandages is not just a funny, haha, aesthetic thing.

That means Clint is actively injured and managing pain, taking painkillers needing to overcompensate and overexerting himself again, because being completely and only human in a world of super-heroics and extremes sucks most of the time; and he constantly is having to recover from this small injury to the next big injury along with pain management, and for him, that'd why he can be in a mood, as well as for this blog canon, his tendency to injure, be in some form of ache or pain, was why he tended to drink daily / at night or for bed because intoxication is one way to numb and disconnect from body, and while it's a good thing, and he'll say as much going sober, he's got to and has a rather strict pain management with himself, certain painkillers at certain times and specific exercises and it's why he cooks so much again, because a healthy diet and food intake helps the body with recovery.

Plus this all stacks with his depression and adhd, and it's why humaning/peopling for him is exhausting (and yes some of this is partly why he slacks on certain things; which is somewhat of an excuse but also just he's doing the best he can and partially failing in his management of all things in life, when hes doing better managing things he does in fact do things like paperwork)

it’s  a  bit  grim  to  think  about,  but  the  wanderer  actually  has  some  degree  of  knowledge  when  it  comes  to  performing  MAINTENANCE  on  himself.  learning  how  to  stitch  a  wound  or  stop  the  bleeding  are  rather  basic  skills  anyone  intending  to  live  a  life  on  the  road  would  do  well  to  pick  up  —  and  yes,  he  most  definitely  knows  how  to  do  both.  however,  the  extent  of  what  ren  is  actually  capable  of  goes  far  deeper.  mending  a  hole  in  his  internal  cooling  system  and  draining  excess  fluid?  (  or  to  put  it  more  simply,  patching  a  punctured  lung?  )  been  there,  done  that.  clicking  broken  bones  into  place?  they’re  built  impossibly,  inhumanly  dense;  every  (  rare  )  break  is  a  clean  one  —  he  only  needs  to  set  them  properly.

it  helps  that  his  body  comes  equipped  with  natural  regenerative  capabilities.  every  wound  wanderer  sustains  WILL  eventually  close  without  a  trace.  (  hence  why  he  has  no  visible  scars,  despite  lifetimes  of  battle  and  brutal  experimentation.  )  it  won’t  happen  IMMEDIATELY,  so  getting  injured  is  still  an  inconvenience  —  but  his  wounds  do  heal  at  an  accelerated  rate  compared  to  a  mortal.  provided  everything  is  in  its  rightful  place,  his  body  can  perfectly  stitch  itself  back  together  from  the  very  brink  of  death  in  a  matter  of  days.  minor  injuries  (  cuts,  scrapes  and  the  like  )  have  been  known  to  close  in  minutes.  it’s  probably  been  timed  before.  regeneration  speedrun.

in  essence,  this  means  he  CAN  perform  “repairs”  on  himself  despite  possessing  fairly  limited  medical  knowledge  —  if  only  because  his  body  is  so  obscenely  durable,  it  just  needs  its  pieces  to  be  in  the  right  place  and  it  can  do  the  rest  automatically.

on  a  related  (  though  disturbing  )  note,  what  little  information  ren  did  pick  up  had  to  come  from  somewhere.  i’ve  mentioned  before,  but  he  has  a  slight  phobia  of  SLEEPING  (  namely,  he  worries  a  time  will  come  when  he  won’t  be  able  to  wake  up  )  and  would  never  consent  to  being  knocked  out  if  he  had  a  say  in  the  matter.  which  means  he  was  likely  conscious  and  completely  aware  for  at  least  the  MAJORITY  of  the  horrific  experiments  dottore  put  him  through.  very  fun.  very  pleasant.  very  useful  for  figuring  out  how  his  mess  of  a  body  is  supposed  to  function,  though.

his  pain  tolerance  is  a  disaster.
