Shovel the fucking quasit
Finally figured out what the deal is with the summon Shovel spell. After about 85 reloads to test it, it seems that Setting Shovel's name is crucial to getting her to say the "ooh a spellshite" line which will then add the "summon cheeky quasit" spell to your spellbook for a wizard/sorcerer/warlock.
We all know it's bugged for storm and draconic sorcerers, it's because their unique dialogue with Shovel overrides the option to set her name.
There are other posts floating around on reddit saying you have to choose certain dialogue options in a 1,1,1,1,1,1,2 way, and while it works (for non storm/draconic sorcerers), it works BECAUSE that order will set her name as Shovel. You can actually choose any dialogue options: As long as you set her name as Shovel before speaking to her with the character you want the permanent summon spell on.
[I've sent bug reports to Larian about this, please do not message me telling me to do so. They know. I promise. I've sent them my findings. Hopefully they can fix Shovel's dialogue tree so that the spellshite line triggers reliably. But it's fucked for now and has been since EA, so here's how to get the summon for storm/draconic sorcerers.]
Example for what worked to get summon quasit spell:
Use any companion (any class, but NOT a sorcerer) to cast the scroll.
Choose whatever dialogue options you want. But during this conversation at some point you MUST choose the dialogue option "your name is shovel?"
This will give you the option to name Shovel. You can choose either option 1. "What do you want to be called?" followed by "Shovel is fine". Or just choose 2. "Shovel is fine"
Finish the conversation however you want.
Switch to Tav (or the character you wish to get the permanent summon spell on [they MUST have at least 1 level of wizard/sorcerer/warlock]) and speak to Shovel. Shovel should now say "ooh a spellshite!" and the summon quasit spell will appear in their spellbook. Boom. Have fun murderising!
I tested this method by using a random companion to cast the scroll, and then using storm and draconic sorcerer Tav/Durge and it consistently worked to give my sorcerer the "spellshite" line. All of this was done in the cellar, before going through the mirror.
Example of what does not work:
using storm or draconic sorcerer Tav to cast the scroll and speak with shovel. -> The option to name shovel never appears. Can continue conversation about mirror/book.
trying to set shovel's name using another companion after 1st conversation with sorcerer; this will not work, her dialogue will repeat "talk to mirror" or "trust me beefy".
If you choose a different name for Shovel (like i tried many times): When you speak to "Basket/Fork" as sorcerer/wizard/warlock Tav, "Basket" will say "Another gobshite. What you want with Basket?" and this line will override the spellshite line, and it won't play. Repeat attempts to talk to "basket" will give "go on talk to mirror" line on loop, or the "see, tell you truth beefy" line on a loop. "Basket/Fork" will never say the spellshite line, unfortunately :(
*You can learn the scroll as a wizard, however this will add it to your wizard spellbook and will take up a prepared spell slot, and it will not get added to your common spellbook as a ritual spell. **but only the "Spellshite" line adds the summon quasit spell to your common spells as a ritual spell that does not take up a spell slot to cast.

Slasher Handler Masterlist
Not everyone appreciates optimism. Seeing the best in people, you’ve been told on multiple occasions, is naive at best and dangerous at worst. Someone could take advantage of you. People have taken advantage of you. You’re going to get yourself hurt!
The thing is, you’re not naive. You’re old enough to have experienced the casual cruelty of the world. But being cruel yourself doesn’t help anything. Kindness costs very little, and you’re happy to pay a little toward your karma every day. And when people think you’re an easy, bubbly target, they tend to let their guard down.
No one expects you to be observant.
Your new neighbor doesn’t expect you to be observant.
When you almost run into him the day he moves in, it doesn't take long for you to recognize him as the guy who brought you home from the bar. For one, he’s huge and doesn’t bother to hide it. Secondly, his eyes are this flat, empty, piercing blue until you apologize. And then he smiles, and and his eyes go from lifeless tundra to sort-of-welcomingly-frigid, and you know, you know, that this guy is dangerous.
And then he informs you that he’s moving just next door. You probe a bit, and he tells you he’s not worried about your noise, even as he asks about neighbors. You give him a little vulnerability, see how still he goes when you mention that you’re a bit introverted.
“Anyway!” You chirp, slipping back into the bubbly persona before the last test. “Do you need any help moving things in?”
And your new neighbor’s pupils dilate, ever so slightly, even as all the life in them drains away.
“Thank you, luv," he says in that deep voice, "but I’m almost finished. I wouldn’t want to hold you up.”
You feel your whole body flush as your nervous system screams predator-danger-RUN. You look down and away, try not to fidget.
“Well, lemme know if you need anything! I always forget something important when I move,” you say, and hope he doesn’t take your nervousness as an invitation to attack. “I’m the one on the left.”
He says “call me Riley,” so you do. Don’t bother to give him a fake name back, because if he wants to, he can look at the packages on your doormat and get your full name anyway.
You spend the rest of the afternoon chewing on your bottom lip, thinking. People at the grocery store probably think you’re daydreaming, or really worried about getting the right box mix for dessert. A kindly older woman picks out her favorite brownie mix and tells you its her husband’s favorite, just add a few caramel candies. You thank her, genuinely, and add the box to your basket.
Back at home, waiting for the brownies to finish baking, you let the anxiety simmer. Riley is a predator, yes, and you’re potential prey. But he already lives next door. And the neighbor before him was also dangerous, the way all men are dangerous. Admittedly, that feels like comparing a goldfish to a volcano, but it’s true. So you’ll bring him a welcome-to-the-building gift and endear yourself to him.
Being kind doesn’t cost anything. And if he likes you, he probably won’t kill you.

Very excited to see your page grow ! 🤍 sorry for the long request 😣😣❕
Can i request a Daryl x fem!reader where the reader’s whole love language was cooking for people before everything went to shit? But because to the outbreak and where they ran from place to place.. she just could never make anything and because lack of ingredients which sort of kills her morale.
However, when they’re staying at Alexandria.. One day she gets one look at their pantry and is strangely super excited and very much productive for the whole afternoon. Which causes confusion among the group because “woah reader is rlly happy, wonder what’s up.” And it’s because she can finally cook the food she loved to make and it’s now time for Daryl to test-taste each and every single dish made all with her love 🤍 .
Just some wholesome fluffiness bc i personally imagine Daryl had like food made by someone for him. He deserves the best as he just eats everything up bc its made with all of our love 🤍🤍🤍
Hello!!! I think this is an amazing idea! Can I just say that I’ve found my people 🤧
Here’s to my first X Reader on here 🥂
Warning: Talks about food/ fluff/ killing walkers (normal TWD stuff)
HOPE YALL ENJOY❤️
Tumblr media
You a chef or something’?
For as long as you could remember, you always loved to cook for the people closest to you.
You would make them their favorite foods and the look on their faces when they would take that first bite was enough to make your entire day.
But when everything happened, cooking food that actually tasted good was the least of your concern, breaking your little chef heart. But when you walked into Alexandria for the first time and saw the plethora of food they had, your heart practically sung.
“What type of herbs do you have?”
“Just about everything, basil, thyme, rosemary, paprika. You name it we probably have it.”
“Where did you get all of them?” You said with a little giggle in your throat.
“Out scavenging, this area used to be a huge neighborhood so there was lots of herbs and seasonings that were left behind”
You were so excited for all of the possibilities! You could make so many different foods and you can now FINALLY show off to everyone how much you loved to cook. But there was one person who you especially wanted to impress.
He sat outside of the house cleaning his bow you and Rick’s group had decided to stay in until you could trust these new people.
You walked up to the house with a huge basket of cans, herbs, seasonings, and just whatever you could put into a meal.
“What gotcha all skipping down the street like a child?” the bowman said with his southern twang, an accent you been hearing since you joined the group back at the quarry.
“Just some herbs and seasonings”
“Whatcha gonna use tha for?”
“Uh, cooking?” You said in a questionable tone.
“Do you want me to cook you something?”
“Nah, you don’ gotta do tha. Whatcha gonna make with all of those anyway?”
“I have lots of ideas on what to make, you know it’s been a while since I cooked, maybe you could come inside and taste everything?”
Daryl gave it a second of thought, but in his normal gruff voice “Fine, but you gotta cook what I ask for”
“Okay!”
Ever since you first met Daryl and the quarry you always thought he was a hard working man. Always went out and got food. He was a survivor, a man the world couldn’t take down no matter what it threw to him.
When he saved you after the walkers invaded the camp, you began to not just think he was a cool guy but also to have a sense of respect for him.
“What do you want me to cook you?”
“Well, I got this squirrel that I plan of skinning, be nice to do somethin with it.”
And that got you thinking. “Maybe we could do a stew, or a baked squirrel, or maybe-“ “Woah, calm down ther’ just make a stew that’ll be simple enough all righ’?”
“Okay, a stew. Hmm.” You go inside the house and walk to the kitchen placing down the basket, and you start looking at the seasonings, and vegetables in your basket. You pick out the cucumber, carrots, squash, flour, and eggs “How many squirrels do you have?”
“I got five”
“Okay, I can make a broth from the squirrels and make a minestrone soup”
“The hell is a minestrone soup?” “It’s a soup from Italy, filled with vegetables.”
“Well okay, tell me when it done”
You gave him a big smile and turned around to get started on this soup, you had Daryl skin the squirrels for you, you baked the squirrel and toon of the meat, then placed the meat in a bag and put it in the fridge for the stew. You then got the bones and some meat from the squirrel, put it in a pot filled with garlic, carrots, onions, and you put it to the top of the got with water. Then you let it cook on the stove top for HOURS.
The next day you strained the broth and started on the soup. You chopped up the vegetables and you made the pasta. Using the flour and eggs you used 3 parts flour, and 2 parts egg. You than mixed with your hands and used a rolling pin to flatten it out. Daryl than came up to you to check what you were doing “Why ya just now startin tha?” “I had to make the broth, that took all night.”
“Ya didn’t have to do tha it justa soup I woulda had you make me somethin else if I knew it would take that long.”
“Don’t be an ass Daryl I’m doing this because I care.”
“But why do you care, why do ya care about the way food tastes n all tha, it jus ment for ya to survive.”
“I know, but mankind invented art, and I believe cooking is an art. You deserve some good food after everything you do, just let me show that I care.”
“Fine, just stop being philosophical.”
“That a big word even for you Mr. Dixon.” You joked.
He just scoffed and walked away. ‘Finally some peace to myself’ you thought. You loved that man you do but sometimes he can just get in your nerves. But you know he’s an ass out of love.
One hour later, the soup is finally now just simmering in the pot. You decided it would be a good idea to make a cake because you think Daryl might appreciate it for taking so long to cook the soup.
You ran down to the little ‘Grocery store’ they had down the street and picked up some sugar, butter, and vanilla flavoring.
You devoted to them start on the cake, also making your own butter crème frosting. After two hours, everything was perfect.
You decided to set up the table and piped open a glass of red wine.
“Daryl ! Dinners ready!”
Daryl walked slowly into the house to see you dressed in a beautiful floral summer dress and some fake pearl earrings from the mall back when you were in the quarry.
“Wha’ with all this?” He asked not knowing how to react. All he knew was this beautiful woman whom he adored had made him a meal that smelled sweeter than anything else.
“I thought you would enjoy it, so I decided to get some wine, and the nicest bowl I could find”
“Well, tha’ sweet of ya, wish I dressed up a bit more now.”
Daryl was wearing what he usually does, his t-shirt with his beautiful arms showing, with his angel wing vest and his cargo pants with boots.
“You look just fine Daryl, not like we have many clothes anyway.”
Daryl silently agreed and sat down
You served him the soup with a slice of buttered Italian bread and a glass of wine.
You sat yourself across from him and Daryl instantly started to eat.
“Oh wow-“ Daryl’s face looked as if he had never eaten before.
“This the best soup I ever had”
“Are you messing with me?” Daryl had never really given many compliments to anybody, so him saying so ment a lot.
“I’m serious, the carrots are nice, ion think I ever had squash before so that new.”
“Aw well thank you Daryl”
“Nah thank you, so tell me sunshine” and nickname he had given to you that just made your heart flutter.
“Why is cooking so important to ya?”
“I think it just the feeling that, I can make people happy, that I could make them something and they would enjoy it.”
“Mm” he replied nodding.
After dinner you and Daryl had a slice of the cake you had decided to bake last minute, he also said that the cake was and I quote “Fucking amazing”.
You two decided to hang out and talk while you both cleaned up the kitchen.
“Hey Daryl.”
“Ya what’s up sunshine?”
“Do you think I could cook for you more often? I mean I hope you liked it”
“Woman, I loved your cooking, imma be coming over every nigh’ now.”
You were so happy to hear that, Daryl actually loved your cooking. You felt so happy you couldn’t hold back your smile, making your face a bit red.
Daryl smiled and continued wiping down the table.
After that you decided to go to bed, Daryl had decided to as well, but he slept downstairs still.
You kissed him a goodnight kiss on his cheek and walked up stairs. Thinking about the day, Daryl fell asleep with a smile on his face excited for what tomorrow will bring.

16-year-old Dewdrop doesn't have it easy.
What he would like most in the world is to bury his nose in books and never leave the room. Unfortunately, his family thinks otherwise and forces him to marry a stranger. Who will save him from such a terrible fate?
otherwise:
My favorite ship but its Vampire Middle ages Universe!!!
Human Dewdrop x Vampire Aether
Witch-hunt
chapter 1
The weather outside was sunny and beatifull. Right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the city, right by the market square, lived a noble family. The entire house had well-placed windows so that daylight could easily spread throughout every rooms. In this beautiful house, behind a brick wall, lived a young nobleman named Dewdrop.
"Mom, I'm not going to wear this," said Dewdrop, looking at the small, leather corset lying on a pile of other too-tight clothes. "Don't argue with me Dew and hurry up, you have to look perfect today," his mother shouted back from another room. "Is this really a good idea? I don't want to marry him. He's a disgusting old man and..." Dewdrop didn't have time to finish his sentence, he heard the sudden bang of a laundry basket falling to the ground. Hard footsteps echoed throughout the room, disturbing his previous peace, suddenly Dew didn't feel like laughing so much.
"No, you won't talk about him like that, you won't think like that at all. He's a good, rich man!" She moved towards him like a snake ready to wrap itself around the neck of its victim and kill him instantly. "You'll go there and show off those pretty teeth, put on a beautiful white veil and then spread your legs for him, do you understand?" His mother shouted, glaring at him with a hostile look that he was already used to.
Dew didn't have the strength to fight anymore. Not again. After all, what could a quarrel change if this was what the entire court required of him? His entire family would be disappointed if he objected now. After all, he was nothing more than a commodity ready to be undressed, placed on a dirty wooden counter and sold for a pittance so that someone would finally be proud of him. "Of course, mom," he whispered, looking down at the ground. Better remorse now than a red mark on his cheek later.
As if on cue, the woman reached her rough hand towards his face. "Oh Dewy" she murmured, stroking his cheeks "He's not that bad, at your age I had my doubts when I was supposed to meet your father... You'll be fine, you'll get everything you want"
"Will I get my freedom?" He asked unconvinced.
"What do you need freedom for when you're rich?" The older woman replied.
Dewdrop was about to answer but his mother realized that if they didn't leave soon they would be late. Dew had no choice but to lower his head, suck in his stomach and squeeze into the tight corset and then cover it with a layer of purple, tight material.
The dress wasn't ugly. In fact, it was very pretty, he would even like it if it weren't for the circumstances in which he had to put it on, after all, today his "beloved" would propose to him. For this occasion, his family and his partner's family organized a joint dinner after which the fathers of the future young couple would finally strike a deal and manage to connect the land, which would bring many benefits to both parties. However, if it was just about marriage, Dew wouldn't mind, he had never been interested in looking for a significant other, so having one in his life wouldn't change a thing, Uranus, because that was his name, was also a very wealthy man, so he could even sponsor Dew's education. But it wasn't just about that.
After all, what kind of marriage is it without an heir?
Dewdrop really doesn't want to get involved in this. He's heard a lot of stories about poor girls who were not even 14 when they were told to give birth to their first child, then another, and another, until they finally couldn't stand it and...
Dew preferred not to think about it. Everyone around him tells him that she got lucky. A young, beautiful sixteen-year-old ready to accept a great fortune and also responsibility. Maybe if he ignores the heir issue, he will be able to enjoy a future relationship?
It was already late after sunset. The party was organized in a large wooden house with a beautiful balustrade on which a large wooden table was spread. The location was located on the edge of the so-called "black forest" so there was a view of trees all around.
It was the middle of spring so Dewdrop was wearing a long, tight purple dress with (thankfully) long sleeves. The dress had many gold decorations on it which really highlighted his hair which was almost golden in color. He also had a large white necklace with a large green gem in the middle around his neck.
Dew and his parents entered through the large oak doors. Right at the entrance he was greeted by his future parents-in-law led by his future husband.
After exchanging unnecessary pleasantries, the fathers of both families went in an unknown direction to talk. Dew wanted to eavesdrop on what they were talking about so interestingly but unfortunately they had already gone too far to hear anything.
"I apologize for my husband, he couldn't wait to meet you." His mother laughed.
"Relax, it was the same with mine." The woman glanced furtively at her son. "The maids should be finishing up dinner soon, in the meantime why don't you keep Dew company and show him around the house?" "Of course mother, would you do me the favor dear?" He asked, holding out his hand, waiting for the offer to be accepted. Dew noticed in the meantime how his face took on a disturbing attitude. Feeling his mother's gaze boring into the back of his head, Dew reluctantly accepted the offer and gave the man his hand.
Without waiting for the two women to answer, the boy pulled Dew and immediately they were both practically running up the stairs and from behind he could hear the laughter of two women.
After a moment, they were both standing on a wide balcony overlooking the dark forest. Dew noticed from the corner of his eye the fog that was slowly starting to swirl at the foot of the trees. "I thought you were going to show me around" He broke the awkward silence that was slowly turning into unpleasant tension. "Believe me, there is no reason for that because soon you will see this place everyday" He replied, reaching his hand towards Dew's hip. "Excuse me?!" He stopped in surprise. "But this place is so far from the city that it will take me half a day to get to school!" Such changes will definitely disrupt Dew's studying plans. "Don't get upset. Anger doesn't suit your pretty face my love, together with your father we decided that there will be no need for you to continue your studies. This area is roughly surrounded by a dense forest and as a result there are many wild animals here so it would be dangerous to leave the house especially since you will soon be pregnant" At these words a sharp shiver ran down Dew's spine. Something was definitely very wrong here. "I haven't promised anything yet" He mumbled quietly. "Oh honey, but you don't decide here" The older smiled and took his hand off his belly.
"Come on, I'll show you something" he said in a singsong voice and not waiting for the words of protest that were surely already waiting on Dew's tongue ready to attack, he pulled his hand again, this time landing in the bedroom next door. At the sight of the large bed and the curtained windows Dew came to his senses and immediately tried to head for the exit. "Easy, honey, not today yet," he said in a disturbingly calm tone and reached for the dresser. Dew was not calm at all, he was still standing in the doorway watching every slightest movement of the man in front of him. After a moment of fighting with the lock like with a monster, where an old rusty key served as a sword, the man pulled out a strange red crystal, resembling a ruby but not quite, tightly wrapped in gold and formed into a necklace.
"What is it," Dew asked. "Have you heard about what lives in these woods," he asked, staring straight into the other's eyes. Dew felt disoriented.
"Wolves, foxes, hares..." He started to list but was interrupted after a moment. "So not after all," he sighed. "Do you have any idea about the series of disappearances that have been taking place?" "Well, my father mentioned something about it and insisted that witches were to blame," he replied. "Your father is not telling the truth, it is impossible for this to be the work of witches." "Then what creature carries this burden?"
"Well, my dear, they are none other than vampires."
"These bloodsuckers? In our forests?" Dew sneered. "Exactly," He confirmed, gently turning the jewel over in his hands. "And do you know where this necklace came from?" He asked. "No," He replied, intrigued. "Let me change that."
__________________________________
A long time ago, in this very forest, there was an old castle. It was inhabited by a noble family, specifically two parents and their daughter. The castle was not large by courtier standards, but it was not small either, since they ruled the nearby lands.
The family was doing very well, until their daughter's 8th birthday, when she received this necklace as a gift. That same night, hired assassins sent by a rival court did not sneak in and murder the poor girl's mother and father. Fortunately, the daughter managed to escape unharmed, but unfortunately, due to the trauma, she quickly fell into madness and began to take an interest in the occult. Legend has it that her heart was so torn by longing that she even went so far as to try to summon her parents from beyond the grave. Unfortunately, as is usually the case with playing with evil forces, the ritual went very badly. A few confused sentences and something much worse emerged from behind the barrier of the afterlife. The demon Mephistopheles emerged from the circle. The distraught girl lost control over the demon, and when he realized this, he immediately possessed the girl. And so, once her closest home, became the chamber of the worst torture you can even image. From the chambers where she used to run carelessly with a smile on her face, you can hear the worst groans of agony. We can only imagine what agony she experienced due to the fact that later, not a girl but a woman, she had 4 sons with a demon. Who, as it turns out, started the vampire bloodlines. From then on, anyone who approaches the castle will disappear forever.
__________________________________
After the story ended, a deafening silence fell between the two. "Why are you telling me all this?" Dewdrop whispered. "Because that's why I'm here, I've been exploring these areas for years to find even traces of these beasts. If I manage to find evidence of their existence, it will flow to Dew's great fortune is on our heads." He stated very confidently. He squeezed the jewel once more and, taking off Dewdrop's old necklace, put a new one on his neck. This time with a red jewel at the forefront. Dew didn't answer. He couldn't. Not a shred of protest. So he asked another question to divert attention. "Since vampires live nearby and there are a lot of disappearances, why do we have to live here? It's dangerous" "it will be easier for me to investigate these monsters from here, and besides, don't worry that pretty little head of yours with such nonsense, Dew. You'll soon have more important things to do. Besides, vampires don't leave the tree areas anyway, so as long as you don't go in there, nothing will happen to you." As if not wanting to listen to any objections, the man left the room without a word, leaving Dew on the bed to herself.
Dew's head was full of thoughts. Why did all this have to happen to him? Maybe Uranus is going mad. It's impossible for him to be telling the truth. Vampires don't exist and this whole story was made up, right?
Dewdrop didn't have time to stay alone for long because one of the servants sent for him and announced that dinner was ready and everyone was waiting for him.
Oh, great.
Dew slowly walked down, looking around the walls so as not to look at his family and at the beginning of his own downfall. Unfortunately, time can't be stopped and Dew had to sit in the middle next to Uranus, right across from his mother.
Since a lot of time had passed since dinner time, everyone immediately started eating. Everyone except Dew, who was currently appetite was taken away. Apparently none of the guests at the table noticed this or simply did not care and everyone went about their own business. The mothers chatted about all sorts of things. From new dresses that made your eyes pop and caused a lack of oxygen, to matters related to the wedding. Both fathers and their future husband were not so scattered in topics and only talked about future business. Dew wanted to cut himself off from the world. Not paying much attention to the rest of the family, the nobleman looked out the window. The fog was already quite large and the blackness of the night completely covered the sky. The old trees, probably carrying hordes of various stories from hundreds of years of their existence, seemed quite quiet today, despite the frosty wind raging outside. Dew imagined that in less than a month, because that would probably be how long it would take for him to move out of the house, he would walk these corridors countless times, dreaming of freedom. Soon this charming house with a beautiful porch would become an icy stone cell for him and he wouldn't be able to do anything about it.
"Ahem, I'm so sorry but I have something to announce." Suddenly Uranus spoke up, hitting the glass of red wine inside with his spoon. The man moved away from the table and fell to one knee. Suddenly Dew couldn't breathe. His parents probably expected a reaction full of fake joy and a stupid smile but the only thing that could be seen in the Dews eyes was pure terror.
Fear of the unknown.
A place unknown to him.
A man unknown to him.
A future unknown to him.
As if at that very moment, his entire life flashed before his eyes. In the background Uranus was delivering his perfectly rehearsed monologue but Dew couldn't hear a thing. He was focused only and exclusively on the memories of his previous loving life. He saw his friends, school, safety. However, out of all the memories, this one stuck with him the most. The one when Dew was 4 years old and his parents were putting him to sleep. They both seemed so... loving then. Without any traces of tears, arguments or financial problems. His father was not an evil monster who entered their home and took away love and safety, but a strong but gentle authority figure. His mother was not a loud hypocrite, but a loving support always ready to comfort him.
Dewdrop does not know what happened to them.
He also does not know what will happen to him.
Will he become like his mother?
Or maybe like his father?
Dewdrop looked at Uranus from the table. Finally ready to make his own decision for once in his life. There was silence around, everyone waiting for his reaction. Dew took a deep breath, feeling the moisture on his lips. He looked at the man beneath him from head to toe.
The decision that would change his fate forever had been made.
"No Uranus, I will not marry someone like you"
Dewdrop did not wait for his family's reaction.
He got up from the chair and ran towards the forest without even looking back.
Dewdrop has no idea what the future will bring. Happiness? Or maybe more sadness. This thought wrapped around his head but he ignored it. He pushed it into the deepest corners of his mind and ran.
He ran feeling the wind in his hair.
He ran feeling the freedom flowing through his veins.
He ran feeling strong.
Finally the steel shackles that his loved ones had tied around him for so long fell to the ground.
And he was finally free.

so we all know 'seeing with love' in the umineko sense but let me introduce you to 'seeing with hate' i.e. my approach to fate/zero
i don't think its good but i think if you see with hate it's secretly the funniest fate entry of all time. the trick is not taking any of the characters struggles seriously
for example kiritsugu is just an incredible guy he's constantly moping about circumstances he directly put himself in. like he's so edgy and such a pathetic sopping mess at the same time that it goes past tragedy and crosses back around into comedy. i mean he cheats on his wife because otherwise he can't cope with the fact that he needs to kill her. he cheats on her with his personal adopted child soldier that hes also treating as expendable. oh no how are all my family members dead i only fired my special family killing rocket at them
kayneth is another character where the tragedy is so over the top it becomes absurd. like he's very much a tragic figure of the classic mold who starts in a high societal position and is undone by his hubris except. his hubris as presented in the show is. being kinda mean to waver? underestimating kiritsugu? and in exchange for this his life rapidly flips from blessed to possibly the worst two weeks any human being has ever experienced. the fiance fucking the hired help to getting crippled pipeline
speaking of lancer its like. genuinely moving to me that he can't find a single fucking person to fight for real in the entire grail war but his whole dying speech with his own spear stuck through him is crazy because he fucking. curses the grail in the name of diarmuid o'dyna and its just. buddy thats not why its cursed. its already cursed its okay. THIS IS A PREQUEL WE ALREADY KNOW ITS CURSED YOU JUST "GOT LUCKY"
you also have to love kariya he's a very sympathetic character apart from the one catch that he seems to have deluded himself into thinking he can steal tokiomi's wife by killing him. its so funny once you realise it. what are you talking about dude you're not gonna get to go hang out with sakura and rin and aoi after all this is over YOU'LL BE THE GUY THAT KILLED THEIR DAD. killing tokiomi is half the reason he joins the war and as soon as kirei puts tokiomi's body in front of him and aoi hes like oh fuck and the whole thing collapses around him
on the subject of tokiomi. what an idiot. what an absolute buffoon. like truly how dumb do you have to be to stack the entire deck in your favour and then invite kotomine fucking kirei to be your appprentice. the scene where kariya confronts tokiomi is so fuckign good because you can see him losing it as he realises the guy with everything he ever wanted is an absolute basket case
okay who next i guess berserker. look. i just love how. genuinely surprised saber is. when she finds out. Sir lancelot how could you hate me so much i never knew!
HE WAS FUCKING YOUR WIFE!!!!!!

Spinning Silver
⭐⭐⭐⭐; the staryk king and mirnatius with the word 'wife' on the board: there's only one thing more horrible than a wife.... *rips off paper* MY wife
Oh?? 👌😉😏
women are fucking amazing and wonderful and terrifying and unequivocal badasses. especially to their husbands. it's about the fantasy of a marriage you have no control over being perfectly suited to you in ways you didn't even know it could
inhuman fae creatures that actually have a separate culture and set of rules they are governed by. they're much more powerful than humans, of course, but they are bound to their laws, and if you're smart you can work with that
fairytale-esque magic system that relies heavily on (1) trickery (2) Having Audacity and (3) the rule of threes 😉. we love a soft magic system that rewards big swings and BDE!
not one, but TWO separate arranged marriages engaged in HEATED pvp AKA two people bound in hostile matrimony trying to kill each other while having 'wait, are they hot? fuck!' moments
you can be cold and practical and still be a good person. you can be strong enough to protect yourself without sacrificing others. with a good enough grasp of contracts you can force a demon to leave your kingdom AND husband unharmed in a 2-for-1 deal
No.. ❌🤢🤮
multiple POVs with no names for chapter titles so you have to figure out who it is from context clues - if you're like me and love a little puzzle to go with your reading time, you'll really enjoy it (Novik does it VERY well) but if you get confused easily or don't wanna put in the brainpower its annoying and overly complicated
if you don't like enemies-to-lovers where they actually argue and are ideologically opposed, you're not gonna enjoy the romance subplots. this is not a 'forbidden-lovers' kinda enemies-to-lovers. this is firmly in the 'my husband misses me a lot - but his aim is getting better!' zone
really quick wrap up - it gets tied up a little too fast after the final confrontation with the Big Bad. i wouldve liked at least to have irina POV at the end because her side of things just. gets left hanging
Summary: Miryem is a daughter and granddaughter of moneylenders, and though her father doesn't have the hardheartedness to be a good one, she'd rather be despised for what she's owed than starve. Her knack for the trade, coupled with her sharp tongue, draws the ire of her village, and even more alarmingly, the Staryk's attentions; faerie creatures who only covet gold, they take her offhanded boast that she can turn silver into gold quite literally, and show up at her door to hold her true to her careless words - which, honestly, kind of backfires on them when she rises to the challenge and upends their realm into complete disarray, so maybe there's a lesson there for the next group of nonhumans to learn: don't bet the house against a human girl whose Had Enough Of All This Bullshit. She might win.
Concept: 💭💭💭 I don't know Rumpelstiltskin's story very well, and Ice Kingdom aesthetics aren't my favourite (you can blame it on my residual dislike of Frozen), but I DID read Uprooted before this. I wasn't as into the book blurb as I was with Uprooted, but I'm an experienced (and opinionated) enough reader to know when to trust my gut - if I find an author's writing style easy to read, and I enjoy how they handle their themes, I'm not afraid of diving into deep waters. If it's that bad, I can always DNF
Execution: 💥💥💥💥 As I've come to expect with Novik's writing, a wonderfully easy read; the storytelling voice flows smoothly and makes me want to keep on reading. No slogging through difficult to understand passages and too slow pacing for me! I instantly wanted to collect every POV character like puppies in a basket, no matter how brief their sections were. I will say the ending does forget what it wants to say and simply ends on a happy note, instead of a complete thought. It doesn't tie in the POV characters together strongly enough - I would've loved to see an epilogue scenes with the 3 main female characters supporting each other, or at least being three distinct Bad Bitches!
Personal Enjoyment: ❤❤❤❤❤ Mostly because of Irina and Miryem (and Wanda)'s absolute BDE. They truly brought their stories to life and felt very dynamic, constantly driving the story forward through their actions, especially because their personalities and characteristics were so well-suited to the challenges they faced (Miryem rules-lawyering the Staryk, Irina taking to politics, Wanda keeping faith despite all the shit she's been through). Honorary shoutout to the complete hilarity of Mirnatius's POV (though ultimately it IS more indulgence than necessity, I respect Novik for it) - may he spend the rest of his life desperately drawing his wife in vain search of her bad angles!
Favourite Moment: the running gag of mirnatius losing his fucking mind trying to prove irina isn't hot. you know that post that's like 'find a blorbo to draw and your art skills will start improving so much faster'? irina is his blorbo. special mention of the scene he gets jealous realizing a random guard has a crush on his behated wife and immediately jumps to the conclusion that irina would want to fuck the guard for the sake of the kingdom. babygirl the hoops you are jumping........where is this gymnastics routine even going 😭 this man is not beating the meow meow allegations..
Favourite Character: It's really a tie between Miryem and Irina, who are both so similar yet different at the same time. Miryem's BDE was enjoyably explosive - she throws it in everyone's face, which is perfect to play off of the Staryk's otherworldly impassiveness. Irina's BDE was a lot more...steely. Quietly coming into her own as she realized how adept she was at politics, and how perfectly well-suited that made her to being tsarina - and when they finally met each other? it was so funny when were like 'hey...why dont we kill our husbands via pokemon battle??'

Tav Character Worksheet
thank you @elven-e-girl for the tag! always feel free to tag me in things like this because I love talking about my little guys!
no pressure tags: @my-favourite-zhent @fistfuloftarenths @leopardmuffinxo
Tumblr media
Name: Fiadh O’Keefei
Age: 54 years old
Gender: cis female
Sexuality: fairly fluid, but no solid label
Pronouns: she/her
Tav Voice: voice 2
Family: Fiadh is an only child, with her mother dying during childbirth. She was raised by her father, Keefei, who is the leader of their druid circle. There were many other members of the circle who took care of her when his Archdruid duties took him away from their home. Though Keefei did not have any more children, she treated the other kids in the circle like her own siblings.
Birthplace: She was born in Moonshae Islands, where her parents were originally from. She and her father relocated to Ardeep Forest not long after she was born.
Jobs: Because she lived in her circle for so long, Fiadh didn’t have a “traditional job.” Sometimes she would keep watch of the circle at night, other times she would be sent out to hunt for food or to protect their land. She made sure to help out the circle as much as she could, so she could one day take her father’s place as Archdruid.
Phobias: Not really a phobia, but she does have a fear of failure. She wants to prove to the world that she is a strong, independent woman who is highly successful. She is also afraid of becoming corrupt when she becomes Archdruid, like the stories that her father has told her about.
Guilty Pleasures: She’ll indulge in too much Plum Fizz when the time calls for it. She also enjoys sun bathing in the nude, which she tries to do away from the prying eyes of the circle.
Hobbies: Sparring with her ‘siblings,” practicing lute (rather badly), basket weaving, and occasionally tailoring clothes of various members of the circle. She is also known to cook up a good meal, when the time calls for it.
Alignment: Neutral Good - calling for nature to take its course, no matter the outcome.
Sins: Fiadh tries to be without sin to become a good Archdruid, but she can have a nasty temper. It usually rises when people are making false accusations about her or other people in the circle. She nearly killed an outsider for speaking poorly of her father.
Virtues: Nature shall always have its balance, whether it is helpful or harmful. Respect your elders. Look after the small, for they are the future. Stay humble and be kind.
Tumblr media
This or That?
Introverted/Extroverted - after spending so many years in her circle, she has found that she thrives well with others and prefers to be in a large pack-like group
Organized/Disorganized - she helps the others organize their packs and each companion is responsible for various different items
Closed Minded/Open Minded
Calm/Anxious/Restless - she doesn’t feel it necessary to spend her time worrying about the future (spoiler alert: she is worried)
Disagreeable/Agreeable - rather easy to get along with
Cautious/Reckless
Patient/Impatient
Outspoken/Reserved
Leader/Follower - natural leader, helps others try to think rationally before acting
Empathetic/Apathetic - almost to a fault
Optimist/Pessimist/Realist - tries to stay positive, despite the world falling around them
Traditional/Modern - to be fair, it’s all Fiadh’s ever really known
Hardworking/Lazy - she has worked hard over the years to one day take over her father’s place
Tumblr media
OTP: The details of her in-game story is still in development, but I believe she and Wyll end up together. She thinks he’s handsome and witty, and has good characteristics of a potential husband. He thinks she’s elegant and handles her leadership with grace, which was refreshing after spending so many years in the wilderness of Faerûn. Eventually, they become Duke and Duchess of Baldur’s Gate and bring peace to the city! It’s an adjustment for Fiadh for sure, but she grows to love Wyll’s home, just as she loves him 🤠
BroTP: Gets along well with Gale, she likes to have scholarly discussions with him, even though she doesn’t have the same education as he does. She and Karlach have similar backgrounds, so they bonded over their untraditional childhoods. They often go on walks through the woods together. She and Shadowheart also become close, they both have respect for each other due to their devotion to their deities. She is also very close to Halsin, considering he and her father became friends when they fought Ketheric Thorm. He shares a lot of stories about his younger days with her, and she tells him of his years leading the circle.
NoTP: Fiadh is friendly with Astarion (and may have hooked up with him once), but she would not see him as anything more than a good friend. Same with Lae’zel. Both of their personalities don’t mesh with hers very well.

Delicious in Dungeon / Dungeon Meshi Episode 1
WOW the pacing on this is great. That was my first major impression of this entire episode.
Overall Score so far: 8/10
Dungeon Meshi hits several sweet spots for things I like in a manga/anime - cooking and well drawn food, and fantasy and dungeons. But I never took the time to try out the manga. Maybe the art didn't stick out for me? I tried reading it before the anime came out, just to get a feel for it, but it couldn't keep my attention.
The anime however.
Episode 1 handled all of what I could get through in the manga, and ITS. SO. CUTE.
Tumblr media
The food is gorgeously drawn, the characters are adorable, the D&D vibes are immaculate, and the monsters and the food they become are fascinating!
I've only given it an 8/10 because it remains to be seen just how many hooks this might snag in my heart if what I've overheard about the manga being 'soul healing' is true.
The first think I can tell is that this is from a slightly older manga, with Marcille being a very classic/traditional tsundere (and/or possibly tsukomi character?). She is the tsundere type that future tsunderes were based off, and so TO ME she's both somewhat annoying and also more bearable than today's tsunderes.
Tumblr media
Sorry Marcille.
I actually didn't like her all that much in the parts I read of the manga, and while her reactions are realistic and serve a purpose to counter balance Laios' nonchalant ability to eat the monsters that try to kill them, her reactions also annoyed me. The 1st anime episode made them much more bearable, and I grew to like her! I hope future episodes do her justice and that she's not delegated solely to being the one to dig in her heels when they eat something new.
Laios is adorable and just really really really wants to share his special interest with his friends, and I love him. He is a cinnamon roll that most be protected but can probably protect himself. I love that he has a cookbook and has just been WAITING to try out some of these recipes.
Tumblr media
Chilchuk is Liam O'Brien from Critical Role and you can't tell me otherwise. Specifically his halfling character, Orym of the Air Ashari, with a bit of Vax'ildan thrown in for good measure. I'm excited to explore his story.
Tumblr media
Senshi is goals. I wanna but a tough old dwarf roaming a dungeon for food.
Tumblr media
I know it will likely get compared with what Capybara and I jokingly call "The Amazon Anime" -- Campfire Cooking in Another World -- and that will always hold a special place in my heart because I stumbled across the light novel when the manga only had about 2 or 3 chapters scanlated online, and never in a million years thought it would get an anime. Where as this is a big name manga that's been running since 2014 and finished last year in September 2023.
Tumblr media
They're both cooking animes that deal with fantasy food, but Campfire Cooking is an isekai and all the animation budget went into making the food look D E L I C I O U S, and Dungeon Meshi is going to be far more well rounded story even while being a gag anime.
It's also got some fun Voice Actors!!
Laios, our hungry knight is voiced by Kumagai, Kentarou, who mostly plays supporting roles in a few popular anime and lots of smaller animes, but has spent most of his career voicing BL Drama CDs >o>
Marcille, our elven mage and tsundere, is voiced by Senbongi, Sayaka - Shuna from TenSura, Mumei from Kabaneri, and Haru from Beastars!
Chilcuk, our cute little halfling rogue, is voiced by Tomari, Asuna who, I IMMEDIATELY HEARD GOBUTA FROM TENSURA. She also play Kyou Souma from Fruits Basket. She has a very cute voice.
Senshi, our fearless dwarf, is voiced by Naka, Hiroshi who is best know as Garp from One Piece, Luffy's Grandpa, as well as Gamabunta, Naruto's giant frog.
Anyways, I'm excited for the next episode! Episode 1 was a good introductory episode, with cooking, hunting, and laying out their goals for the coming journey.
ep2 ep3 ep4 ep5 ep6 <- these will eventually become links, I hope.

Sophia Alone (Fanfic)
New chapter from my main series 🩷
Sophia had just finished packing up her supplies, she decided that she would have a picnic in the woods, as they say that they look lovely this time of the year.
She found herself in a nice spot and placed the blanket on the floor, admiring the flowers that surrounded her and eating from time to time. She had gotten used to eating, at first it felt a little odd with her new body when it came to that, it felt too mechanical instead of natural, but thankfully it was something that she got over, a few other things she had found odd here and there, but nothing that she didn’t get used to by now.
Lying down on the blanket, Sophia began to feel a little sleepy and closed her eyes for just a few seconds.
—-
“Shit”
Sophia said when she woke up, realizing it was already nighttime, she ended up having a REALLY long nap.
She grabbed the basket and made her way to exit the woods, but the darkness of the night confused her, and she ended up getting lost.
“Calm down Sophia, calm down” Sophia had faced many dangers while in Krat, yet for some reason she was so intimidated by this forest. The trees looked like they were long arms trying to grab her and she could almost swear she saw faces in them, as she kept on walking began to get desperate, not being able to find her way out, so she ran and ran trying and find her way out.
Unfortunately, she was startled by some roaming bats, and in the commotion, she ended up falling into a body of water, at first she was scared because she could have sworn she saw crocodiles but thankfully they were just logs, her mind was just playing tricks on her, she managed to get out and tried to stay calm looking for a way out.
In the distance, she could hear music being played, and people singing, she felt relief that people were nearby, while walking a tiny deer made its way towards her, she petted the animal and it made motions, indicating that she should follow it. As she got closer, she saw more small animals surrounding a very tiny house, Sophia took a deep breath before knocking on the door, she felt a little nervous and as if she was interrupting something.
She was greeted by the seven dwarfs, the owners of the home, and by a young girl named Snow White, they were so kind to welcome her, they had no problem with her just staying one night and she promised that she wouldn’t let this go without its due reward, she helped them clean the place and arrange things once their celebration was over. The dwarfs dotted around her, Sophia could tell they didn’t get much interaction from other people, more so when they mentioned how they worked all day.
Thankfully there were no issues with arranging for her to have a bed, as Sophia chose to sleep on the couch and wrap herself with her picnic blanket. She had to refuse constantly when offered a bed, she didn’t want to be too much of a bother and the small house was already so cramped.
In the morning Sophia and the rest woke up and she had a brief talk with the seven dwarfs before they left for their work, once again she thanked them profusely for their kindness. Sophia was about to leave, but she noticed that the girl looked so sad, and decided to ask her what was wrong.
“My stepmother… she tried to kill me” Snow White shed a few tears, “And only now have I realized how awful she had been treating me”
Snow White is a young girl, so she is naive, she thought that her stepmother making her act like a maid was just her trying to teach her humility. The girl kept on venting to Sophia. Who was surprised to know that the girl was the princess, she wanted to help her, but she had no idea how, and it would be difficult because her stepmother rules the land, she could basically get away with anything she wanted. But at least Snow White is safe here and she can at least leave somewhat at peace with the dwarfs and her animal friends.
“Sometimes I wish a prince would come to save me, I knew a prince when I was little, we were good friends, I miss Florian but he is living his own life and I wouldn’t want anyone to have the burden of rescuing me”
Sophia is surprised at how mature she is for her age and so kind, doesn’t seem that there is any trace of selfishness inside of her. The only thing she could do was be a shoulder to cry on. Unfortunately, she couldn’t stay and she made her way to leave but she wished her the best.
She made her way out, now that it was daytime it would be easy for her to leave and she was given directions towards the nearest exit of the woods. Sophia walked for some time when suddenly a small deer, the same that had come to her before grabbed her dress by bitting it.
“No! Bad deer” She was scolding the young deer, thinking that it just wanted to play, but the deer kept trying to grab her attention, trying to tell her something.
“Did something happen?” Sophia felt a little weird trying to talk with a deer but despite the frantic gestures she managed to understand what the deer was saying.
“Snow White is in danger?!”
The deer nodded his head and made motions for her to go back, Sophia ran back towards the house, and with her increased stamina it wasn’t hard to rush towards the house, where she saw the dwarfs chasing after an older woman, it was easy to for Sophia to realize that the queen had come in disguise.
She entered the home to find Snow White unconscious on the floor, she tried shaking her over and over again but she couldn’t wake her up. The girl was dying and she needed to do something.
Sophia was back to the same spot she was before in the forest, this time she didn’t wait for the deer, she ran until she found the house, but again, it was too late, Snow White had taken a bite out of the apple as soon as she walked inside. Dammit, she needed to be quicker.
“Sophia, are you alright?” Snow White asks.
Sophia gasped for air, she could feel her gears moving at a faster rate, the longer she rewinds the more tired she became but she had to compose herself.
“Listen to me” Sophia grabbed Snow White’s shoulders with her hands, “I know it’s going to be hard to believe but the queen, she is coming right now to try and kill you”
“Huh?” What?!”
“I have this power” Sophia didn’t want to give all the details so she kept it short, “I can turn back time and I saw her, I saw her hurting you”
Sophia grabbed a glass and dropped it onto the floor, there was a pause and then it was back to how it was supposed to be. At first Snow White was still shocked but she remembered what the huntsman said, that her stepmother would stop at nothing until she saw her dead.
The forest animals wasted no time looking for the seven dwarfs and Sophia stayed by Snow White’s side when there was a knock on the door, they didn’t answer.
But the evil queen entered the house regardless, Snow White hiding behind Sophia. The queen tried to speak up but Sophia interrupted her.
“Drop the act, we know”
The queen was enraged, and with her magic turned herself back into her true appearance, it was killing her on the inside to be seen as old and ugly.
The queen got closer and pulled a dagger that she had kept hidden, it caught them off guard but Sophia despite not being a strong fighter managed to stop her, as the blade only made a loud thud when colliding with her arm that she used as a shield.
The queen was stunned, that should be impossible, “What are you?” She demanded an answer but she wouldn’t get one, the seven dwarfs had arrived and they started chasing after her, Sophia didn’t want to leave Snow White’s side but she followed them just in case, and it was a good thing. They had chased her up a hill, the atmosphere had changed, it was raining and the clouds made the skies dark, Sophia watched as the Queen pushed a boulder towards them, and it was about to hit them
“No!”
“What did you do?” The Queen could tell something was wrong but didn’t have enough time to react, as the boulder she had been pushing instead of falling down the hill, fell towards her, stumbling as she fell to her death, and the boulder crushing her. The vultures up the hill looking down at the scene.
—-
Sophia was starting to feel a little overwhelmed by all the attention, all of them treating her like a heroine, she was just happy to help, although, in the end, it did make her feel good to save someone like that, it felt exciting, she wonders if this how Pinocchio feels when he goes on his adventures.
But it was time for her to head back, she was worried about the Hotel room she rented, hoping that they didn’t assume she went missing and threw away her belongings. She doesn’t carry much but she does carry the essentials as those would be a disaster to lose. As she headed back, she could see that she was close, hearing a few people on the streets, she was so entranced on leaving that she was a little startled when someone spoke to her.
“Excuse me miss”
Sophia turned to look at them, those clothes, a prince just like the one Snow White described.
“I’m looking for a young girl, her name is Snow White, everyone has told me that she is dead, but I don’t believe that, please if you have seen this girl tell me” Florian sounded desperate.
She smiled at him and pointed at the woods, “She is living in a small house inside the forest”
Thrilled about the news, he thanked her and made his way towards the forest and Sophia made her way back to the hotel she was staying in.
—-
“Sorry miss but you have been gone for more than a day, we are going to have to cancel your room, please take your belongings and leave”
Sophia was frustrated, this stupid Hotel had dumb rules, and she should have confirmed better where she was staying now she had no choice but to leave. There had been a few times when she had to sleep on the streets, it was annoying but something she had to deal with, plus, she was just so happy about exploring the world, it was a small inconvenience and with her powers, she is more than capable of defending herself.
It was twilight outside and she had stopped to get something to eat and relax, but the place was filled with people, she was about to leave when an older woman signaled to her to sit with her. She looked very weak and fragile.
“We are both alone, why don’t we eat together?” The old lady’s voice was sweet, she was very friendly, making conversation with Sophia along the way.
“Oh you poor thing, I can’t let you be outside without a roof to sleep, please come to my home”
“Oh I can’t, it would be too much”
“Nonsense, I insist, please stay at my place”
Eventually, Sophia caved in, she followed the woman towards her home and at least helped her carry her bag, as the older woman was using an umbrella and walking with a cane, saying that at her age, walking gets harder and harder and the sun even just as dim as it is can be too much for her, and considering how pale she looked, it made sense.
At the old woman’s home, Sophia was arranging her belongings.
“Where are my manners? My name is Sophia”
“I guess I’m here lacking manners as well, people call me by my last name, so please call me Fable”
“Thank you so much, Miss. Fable”
The older woman excused herself for a moment, Sophia got a little curious, this house was so beautiful, so many small wooden figurines decorated the place, mainly of animals but also of small objects, Sophia stared intensely at one, she recognized the shape.
“I take it to you like my stargazer?” Miss. Fable said from behind, “Not as beautiful as a real one, but I made the figure myself, I think I did a good job”
“It’s beautiful, I’ve never seen someone outside of Krat that knew about Stargazers”
“Well I lived there years ago, but that seems like a distant memory by now” Miss. Fable looked like she was being reminded of old memories, “I still have family that lives there, I know that you’ve met them”
“Really?” Sophia wondered who she was talking about but this woman looked so old, maybe she was just confused.
“Giuseppe Geppetto, he is my grandson”
“What?!” Sophia was shocked, about how she knew that she knew him and more about how old this woman was.
The old woman laughed, “I am a listener just like you, sorry for being intrusive but when I saw you, I could tell right away” It wasn't hard for her to look at Sophia's memories through Ergo.
Sophia was surprised, but she felt more relaxed, knowing she could talk with her without being too secretive.
“I was also once an alchemist, but that was so long ago, and the alchemists nowadays…” Miss. Fable’s voice changed to a sadder tone, “Well now they don’t seem to want to help others, just wanting to fulfill their selfish needs”
Sophia looked away for a moment, just like her father, he was a good man, he wanted to use his knowledge and power for good, but just for being kind he was murdered.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to bring the mood down”
“It’s okay and you are right anyway”
“Why don’t we talk about something else? Can you tell me about my great-grandson?”
Sophia smiled, she would love to tell her all about Pinocchio, how kind and wonderful that boy is, she recalled the times she spent with him, how he saved her and all of Krat, how he brought her back, she also told showed her the ring.
They talked for a few hours, and the atmosphere was calming and friendly, Miss. Fable told Sophia tips on what to do when traveling, she seemed to have a good amount of knowledge and she appreciated the advice and after it was late they went to bed.
She decided to stay with her for the remaining days she had in Germany, with her, Sophia was happy with how everything had turned out, she had had a great time here, but now she was wondering where to go next.
“You could go to Austria, I was born there, and I have fond memories of when I was a little girl there”
“Mmm that doesn’t sound like a bad idea”
It was a little quiet after that, but Miss. Fable spoke up again.
“Girl, can I tell you a secret?”
“Mmm?” Sophia had become distracted looking again at the decor of the house, she was just so in love with it.
“Hopefully you can hear what this old lady has to say”
“Of course, please do tell”
——
“Wow, that’s…” Sophia was speechless.
“I understand, a little far fetched but as I told you, I’m telling you this in case you ever need my help”
Sophia gave her a warm smile, “I’ll think about it, you really are too generous and your secret is safe with me”
The next day, Sophia had made up her mind to leave for Austria when there was a knock at the door.
“We are looking for a girl named Sophia and we heard that someone matching her description was here,” said a Royal guard.
“That would be me” Sophia got closer to see what this was about.
“I come to send a message, as a reward for saving the princess she is formally inviting as a guest to a wedding”
Sophia turned to look at Miss. Fable.
“Austria can wait, you are definitely not missing that”
—-
“I still can’t believe you met my grandmother,” Geppetto said.
They were all waiting at the train station in France, it was way too early in the morning but it was the time they needed to leave, Pinocchio had fallen asleep on his father’s shoulder since the sleepy head wasn’t used to being up so early.
“She is a lovely lady” She truly is, Sophia does wonder though what Geppetto would think of his grandmother’s secret.
The sound of a train engine was heard, it was time for Geppetto and Pinocchio to leave. It was going to be a long ride back to Krat, it would take them all day, so they said their goodbyes and not soon after, Sophia’s strain arrived, her ride would take way longer, and she would have to make any stops along the way to get there.
But it doesn’t bother her, she is free now and her travels may be by herself, but she never forgets that she will never be truly alone.

Full Chapter Under Cut
On the coldest day that year, a small infant was swaddled with white cloth, tucked into a wicker basket, and lowered into the Luo river. The river was almost frozen, thin layers of ice dotting the surface. The basket drifted down the river, the newborn not even a day old. Luckily, a few old fishermen found the kid. They swiftly plucked him out of the water, afraid he would die.
Since the baby had been found on the frozen river Luo, they named him Luo Binghe. The three men took care of him for a few years, filling in the role of parents. They sacrificed their own well being to raise him. Sadly, because they always worried about Luo Binghe’s health, they neglected their own. They passed away slowly, one after the other. This child, barely four years old, was forced to fend for himself on the streets. He could barely speak, only able to put simple sentences together, yet he had to sweet talk vendors into giving him food.
He spent two years learning how to steal and run, fight and defend. Both humans and dogs were out to get him. It was a miracle he wasn’t killed. He rarely slept nicely, having to keep one eye open at all times. He slept anywhere he could, as long as nothing would get to him. When things did get to him, he ran. He spent most of his early years running. But one day, he found a place to stop.
Luo Binghe awoke to something – someone – walking near him. He jolted upright, ready to fight. There was no way to run, they were blocking the exit out of the alley. He chose to sleep near the trash of a rich household so no one would see him  – clearly he was wrong.
“Shh! No need to worry!” A soft voice drifted towards his ears. He lowered his hands, letting them fall to his sides. The speaker wasn’t another kid, but their voice wasn’t rough. “They’ll get mad if they catch you. Come with me.”
Luo Binghe cautiously followed this strange figure. They didn’t harm him on sight, so there might be some hope. Sadly, he was used to others wanting to kill him. He was the smallest of the kids, so they decided having him around would only drain resources. He had been beaten every day for simply being in their line of sight. The adults always turned a blind eye, why would they bother paying attention to the little brats fighting over food? As long as they didn’t get in the way, it wasn’t an issue.
Luo Binghe paused. “Jiejie, where are we?” They stood in front of a sad looking house. Scratch that, a shack. Its roof was caving in, and one of the windows was missing a panel. She smiled, and continued to walk towards her house.
“Sit, sit” She beckoned for Luo Binghe to sit on one of the small cushions. She then started heating water on the stove. “I’ve seen you around frequently. Do you not have a home to go to?”
Luo Binghe shook his head. “No”
“Where are your parents?”
“Dead”
“Any relatives?”
“No”
“When was the last time you ate?”
“Three days ago”
“Have you had any water today?”
“Mn”
“Where did you get it from?” “I stole it from Wu Ming”
The woman sighed, but not at Luo Binghe. She sighed at the world. “Would you like some tea?” “Yes please” When the cup was placed in his hands, Luo Binghe looked at the woman as though she was a god. A gift from heaven. His guardian angel. “Thank you…”
“Wang Xiyan”
“Thank you Wang-jiejie'' He sipped from the cup slowly, and a slightly bitter liquid filled his mouth. It wasn’t something everyone would like, but Luo Binghe quite liked it. He also made a note to repay her later. He was determined to repay every person who showed him kindness, no matter how small the gesture. He was sure that they all deserved everything, since there weren’t many kind ones out there.
Once he finished his tea, Luo Binghe stood up. He bowed, and turned to leave.
“Where are you going?”
Luo Binghe spun around, surprised at being addressed. “I was going to leave.”
“Oh! There's no need for that. You may stay if you would like.”
Luo Binghe stared at her. She smiled nervously, afraid that her sudden offer had scared him. “Uh, I can’t provide much for you, I’m a low level servant. However, I could give you a more stable source of food and water, as well as this small home to live in.”
Luo Binghe was shocked. He couldn’t remember a single time someone had cared for him. He slowly nodded, quietly saying, “Thank you…” over and over. He didn’t notice, but small tears had begun to leak from the corner of his eyes. Wang Xiyan walked over, using a small bit of cloth to wipe the moisture from his face.
Luo Binghe had found a place to stay. Someone to care for him. A place where he could be a kid, not having to worry about surviving. He could sleep with both eyes closed. He wouldn’t need to attack anyone that came close to him. He could relax. He was safe. He was safe. He was safe…

Our Little Secret Pt. 2
Prince! Oikawa x fem! reader
Fluff
Synopsis: Go read part 1
A/N: Sorry it's a short chapter. I needed filler space for set up.
Masterlist pt.1 pt.3 pt.4 epilogue
“Ow ow ow” Oikawa whines as Iwaizumi drags him through the crowd by the ear.
“What the hell is wrong with you?!” Iwaizumi yells.
“Would you stop it! You’re hurting me!” Oikawa whisper yells, attempting to avoid as much attention as possible in this situation.
“Good!” Iwaizumi veers off into an alleyway. He slings Oikawa around and throws him against the wall.
“Ow! What is wrong with you!”
“What is wrong with me? What is wrong with you! What happened to not leaving my sight, huh?”
“It’s not my fault you aren’t fast enough.” Oikawa shrugs turning away from Iwaizumi. SLAP! The sound of Iwaizumi’s hand hitting Oikawa on the back of the head echos through the alleyway, “OW! I can have you arrested for this.”
“Not if I kill you first. What do you think you are doing? Frolicking around with girls? Giving them flowers? Do you want more rumors to spread?”
“First off, it was one woman and second, I wasn’t ‘frolicking’. I was having a good time with her.”
“Yeah and if anyone else saw your ‘good time’ you would be doomed.”
“You don’t get it Iwa! I wasn’t messing around with some random girl. She is different. She is a noble but was doing the shopping for her manor. She recognized me when others didn’t. She reminds me of you, but she is way more beautiful.”
“Snap out of your daydream!”
“Yeah, that tone. She is the only other person who has been bold enough to speak to me that way. I helped her pick up potatoes.”
“Potatoes?”
“Potatoes! I knocked them out of her basket on accident. She knew her way around the market and knew the vendors. She cares enough to take time to get to know them.”
“Wow, human decency.” Iwaizumi turns and walks out of the alleyway towards the palace.
Oikawa runs to catch up with his fast stride, “It’s not that simple. You know how many nobles care to know their servants names. I don’t know half of our kitchen staff. But she takes time to know random villagers. She is kind and funny and beautiful and her laugh,” Oikawa lets out a dreamy sigh that Iwa almost gags at, “Her laugh is like honey to the soul. It is smooth and sweet, yet it has a vibrance to it. It invades your whole body, winding its way through your veins, warming your entire being.”
“Since when did you become a poet.” Iwa snorts.
“Since I met someone worth writing about.”
“You were with her for like an hour. You can’t seriously be this entranced.”
“If you were with her, you would understand. She is something different. She is like…like…ugh! I don’t even know what she is like! She is intriguing, vivacious, enchanting. I need to know more about her.”
“Well too bad because you have to go back to the castle.”
Oikawa spends the rest of the walk describing you to Iwaizumi and if they weren’t best friends Iwaizumi would actually beat him up, but he will wait until they are back at the castle.
The next day, you stand under the central bell tower. As you lean against the brick tower, fidgeting with your dress, you keep looking around. Why isn’t he here? Did you come early? Or maybe he didn’t want to come. Of course he doesn’t. He is a prince for crying out loud. Why would he have any interest in you? You heave a sigh, ready to give up and go, when you hear a voice from behind, “Sorry I’m late.”
You whip around to see the familiar hooded figure from yesterday, “Gosh, don’t scare me like that.”
He lets out an oddly attractive laugh, “I don’t know. I think you’re cute when you’re flustered.”
A blush spreads across your cheeks, “Shut up. Why are you wearing that cloak again?”
“I told you, I have to stay hidden.”
“Well, it looks stupid.” You laugh.
Oikawa’s smile grows bigger at that sweet sound, “Excuse me for not having a custom made disguise.”
“You should be more prepared next time.” You both laugh at your sarcasm, “So, uh, what did you plan to do today?”
“Come on, I’ll show you.” He grabs your wrist and leads you away. You make your way past houses and head towards the farms. Right before you reach the outer roads Oikawa takes a left. You enter a beautiful enclosed courtyard. There is a small, black, metal gate that you enter through. The brick paved ground is old and mossy. There is a bench in the center that is clearly very old but still beautiful. All of the flowers and plants are overgrown, vines covering the surrounding walls. From above hangs wisteria and vines. The place is aged and winsome. It takes your breath away.
“Wow, what is this place?”
Oikawa pulls down his hood, his soft brown hair falling perfectly, “This is a courtyard built in honor of my great grandmother. My great grandfather built it after she died. She loved to sit in the garden and admire the flowers. So he made this private courtyard in her honor. I found out about it when I was a kid and would come here a lot. But most of our family completely forgot about it, so it has gotten a little out of hand.”
“I think it’s beautiful.” You sigh, taking in the beautiful courtyard.
“Yeah, it is.” You turn to look back at Oikawa, only to see him looking at you with a soft smile. Your breath gets caught in your lungs, as your cheeks turn a shade pinker. “So, tell me more about you.” He asks, sitting down on the bench
“Me?” You ask, breathlessly, “I’m not that interesting.”
“I’ll be the one to determine that,” He smirks.
“Uh, okay. What do you want to know?” You join him on the bench
“Tell me about your family, if it isn’t a touchy subject.”
“Okay. Well, I come from a noble family. I love my family very much. My mother is kind hearted and beautiful. My father is honest and confident.”
“I see where you get your traits now.”
You smile, “They prefer I do as a nobles daughter should do, learn piano, embroidery and what not. And while there is nothing wrong with those things, I don’t want to be shut up in the house all day. I like to walk in the garden and go to the market. My father says that I am not allowed to go to the village more than once a week, though.”
“But he let you come to see me?” He smirks.
You rub the back of your neck awkwardly, “Haha, no. He doesn’t know I’m with you. He…doesn’t like you very much…”
“Oh…” His face drops, “Well, what does he think you are doing?”
“I told him that we forgot some things at the market and that I needed to go back today.” You smile sheepishly.
“Tsk tsk” His signature smirk is back, “Lying for me?”
“Well what about you? You are doing the same, aren’t you?”
“Yeah, I guess you are right. But it is okay, you are worth lying for.”
There he goes again, making you blush, “Why don’t you tell me about your family.”
“What is there to know? My dad is king, obviously, and he is a pain in the neck. He never lets me leave the castle. He barely lets me walk in the garden…the garden! Anyway, he keeps telling me about learning these ‘kingly duties’ but I don’t see the point. Great, I can read a map and order people around, but what is that going to do for our people? What about the actual problems? Excuse me if I want to know more about our citizens, help how they need it. He thinks I’m just being frivolous, that I don’t actually care. When in reality, he is the one who doesn’t care!” Oikawa didn’t notice that in his anger, he stood up. He sheepishly sits back down, “Sorry. That was probably more than you wanted to know.”
“No, don’t be sorry. I’m glad you can be open.” You lay a sympathetic hand on his shoulder. The simple action sends sparks through your body. “That sounds hard. All that pressure can’t be easy. Have you tried talking to your father about it?”
“Yeah and he just keeps saying that I don’t understand and need to learn.” He huffs.
“Have you ever considered it from his perspective?”
“Huh? What do you mean?”
“Well, he is your father and so he probably just wants you to be prepared so you can be a good king. And while you don’t see eye to eye, he is helping the best he knows how. He just wants to see you succeed.” “I-I never thought about it that way…”
“Why don’t you try talking to him in a calm manner and explain that you understand he is trying to help. And say that you will try things his way if he will try some things your way.”
“Uh, yeah. I guess I could try that.”
You give him a small smile, when you hear the chime of a distant bell tower. You shoot up from the bench, eyes wide, “I have to go.”
“What? Why?” Oikawa matches your stance.
“I told my father I would be back by noon. I am running late. I-I have to go, sorry.” You start to run out of the courtyard.
Oikawa grabs your wrist, halting your movement, “Wait! When will I see you again.”
“Whenever you want.” You wink, breaking from his grasp and sprinting away, “Goodbye! Thank you for the nice time!”
“Goodbye!” He calls, waving as you run away. He laughs at your flirtatiousness; his cheeks heating up at your previous comment.

Whumptober Day 1: OC’s
Prompt: Swooning
These are two characters from an old story idea I never expanded upon. I’d forgotten about them until I saw this prompt and thought of this one specific scene I’d created for them. Everything you need to know about them is honestly explained in the fic. You can also just replace the names Grace with Whumpee and Anthony with Whumper if you want. Hope y’all enjoy :)
—————
He came in the middle of the night. The Sanctuary was used to receiving residents and refugees at odd hours, so it wasn’t his arrival time that caught her off guard. Rather, that he would come here at all confused her. Thankfully, she’d not been the one to answer the door. Oliver, her naive assistant, had noticed the approaching figure and gone down to greet him. The guest quietly explained his purpose, he was not seeking sanctuary but an audience. An odd request, but Oliver, who had seen many an odd thing in his three months of working, assumed nothing amiss. He knew Miss Grace had a long political and influential past and this was hardly the first time old faces showed up.
“Guest for you.” Oliver said, knocking on the open wood door to the dining room. The woman inside, hands sudsy as she wiped down the tables, looked up with a pleasant smile. It dropped into a neutral gape of confusion at the sight of Anthony Petteridge. Mr. Petteridge tipped his hat and smiled. Grace collected herself, closing her mouth and folding her rag to tuck in her overall pockets.
“Thank you Oliver. Excuse us please.” Oliver left them.
Mr. Petteridge stepped into the room with that infuriatingly lazy gait. His head swiveled from side to side, taking it in. He was dressed not in the formal suit of a politician, of which Grace was accustomed to, but the quietly glamor of the nouveau riche. Grace, for her part, dressed every part the disheveled farmer, but made especially sure to hold herself with dignity.
“Anthony.”
“Grace.”
“Can I help you?”
He moped, feigning disappointment. “That’s it? No ‘good to see you’? No ‘it’s been so long’?”
“My apologies Anthony, I didn’t recognize you with that terrible new haircut. Aren’t there any good barbers in Las Vegas?”
Anthony grinned and sidled over to her table. “I missed you too, my dear.”
As he sat down, he set a small basket on the table. Grace had noticed it
when he first entered, but until this moment, its contents had been concealed by a velvet swatch of fabric. With a dramatic flick, Anthony pulled the cover off to reveal a bottle of wine and two fine glasses.
“May I pour you a glass?” He asked, displaying the bottle. “It’s Vegas’s finest.”
She shook her head. Grace had always abstained from alcohol, and Anthony knew it. He poured her one anyway.
“What are you doing here?” She asked as he made himself comfortable, feet propped on the table.
“Just wanted to chat. Catch up a bit.”
“Really?”
“Oh yes, if you’ll have me of course.”
Grace smiled and took a seat. “The Sanctuary is open to all people, that’s my word. I wouldn’t kick you out even if I wanted to.”
“So you don’t want to?”
Grace considered for a moment. “No. No, I don’t.”
“Because you're curious.”
“Because I’m curious.”
Anthony tsked at her. “Still so predictable, Gracie. It’s gonna get you killed one day.”
“Not while I’m here.”
“No! I suppose not. Your little assistant told me about that fun policy when I came in.  Does it work?”
“Oh yes. I suppose you wouldn’t know since you’ve been gone, but everyone treats our peace zone with the utmost respect.”
The Sanctuary operated on a no violence policy. Regardless of history, every person was welcome to come within its borders and take shelter, food, and rest for as long as they needed. The only rule was that no violence of any kind was allowed. In return, residents were guaranteed a safe, peaceful stay. Anyone who broke the rule was omitted from the Sanctuary’s protections, and considering the lawless territory outside the Sanctuary’s walls, no one was willing to give that safeguard up.
“How has the entertainment business been?”
“Exciting,” he said, his eyes lighting up. “Every night, my casino is swarmed with folks from all walks of life, ready to try their luck, lose their minds, and drown out the pain.”
“And I’m sure that’s done wonders for your wallet.” Grace looked over his obviously expensive clothes.
“Like what you see?” Anthony dropped his feet and leaned forward, a frisky glint in his eye.
Now this was the Anthony she remembered. “Hm,” she played along, “you’ve tied your tie all wrong.”
“Have I? How terrible. Fix it for me will you?”
Both of them stood, and Grace began to redo the knot.
“You should come to Vegas with me. You’d like it.”
“Oh, I doubt that.”
“C'mon Gracie. You don’t have to pretend with me.” In a sudden movement, he leaned in and whispered tauntingly in her ear. “I know who you are. You’ve got an adventurer's soul. This place, as lovely as it is, is just another pretty cage. And to you my dear, that means death. So come with me. I could really use your help ”
Grace turned her face towards him. In his eyes burned the same hunger that had always consumed him. She tightened his tie and said, “You’re wrong.”
He raised an eyebrow.
“I’m happy here. I’ve found people who care about me. Every day is an adventure with them.”
She let go of the tie and stepped back. Anthony bit his lip in thought. He nodded to himself, then looked up at her and smiled.
“That’s wonderful.”
“I know.”
“No genuinely, I’m happy for you. Please,” he grabbed both glasses of wine and offered one to her, “let me congratulate you.”
Grace hesitated.
“It’s considered rude, you know, to refuse.”
She sighed. Well, one glass couldn’t hurt.
“To the past…” Anthony toasted, “and to the future!”
“To the future!”
They tapped their glasses together and both drank. Gracie set her glass down and moved to the counter where the rest of her cleaning supplies lay out.
“I’m glad you stopped by,” she said, packing up the bottles and rags.
Behind her, Anthony leaned against the table and smiled. “I am too. Though it’s a shame you won’t come willingly.”
Grace almost didn’t register this, for all of a sudden, a thick heat seemed to swell behind her forehead. She set down her washcloth and turned back towards the man, but her movements felt oddly slow.
“What?” She managed to mutter. The heat was spreading, moving down her neck and into the muscles of her arms and legs.
Anthony gazed at her with pity. “I am sorry about this. I so wanted to do this the easy way, but alas.” He clicked his tongue.
Grace took a step forward but she couldn’t feel the ground beneath her. She swooned, and Anthony leapt up and caught her. Everything within Grace protested against his touch but she couldn’t do anything; the world was hazy.
“Easy now,” she heard him murmur. “That’s it.”
“Why?” She managed.
He laughed. It sounded as if it were echoing down a long tunnel. “I told you, I could really use your help. But don’t worry about that now, this will all be over…”
She collapsed in his arms, asleep, before he even finished the sentence.

Anime Update V2 57
Vinland Saga S2 - At long last, I return to this series and jump right into Episode 1 of its second season that aired earlier this year. This episode told the tragic tale of a man named Einar, who lost his homeland, his mother, and his sister in a horrific attack by marauding brutes who took him prisoner and sold him into slavery. At one point he tries to flee only to get found, recaptured, and brutally beaten. At another point we see old man Leif, looking to find his lost nephew among the slaves. At the end, Einar is sold to Ketil to work at his large, vast farm in southern Denmark, where he is introduced to another of Ketil's slaves: a moody, badly damaged young man with dirty blond hair...named Thorfinn. And thus, a connection is made!
Hunter x Hunter - New information regarding how the Chimera Ants operate in their different heirachies and their ongoing breeding patterns is given to us as the Hunters Association is now tasked with fighting and killing the Ants, hoping to slay the Queen before she can give birth to a King. We also got some neat fights of Gon, Killua, and Kite in that order against Chimera Ant footsoldiers sent after them by the big lion guy. And on the side, Colt and the other leading soldiers are discovering the secrets of Nen, continuing to be easily the most intriguing part of the show at this point and I await more from them.
Fruits Basket - First episode of the pair I watched was mostly set at school, with the first half delving into Machi's backstory, how the trauma messed her up, and her blossoming relationship with Yuki, and...OK, which female student council member had the parody "tragic backstory?" Because Machi's backstory just did not click for me AT ALL. I could get the idea behind it and wanted to appreciate it but the execution was absurd; it legit felt like something someone would make up to convey how Fruits Basket does traumatic past-based stories, yet we're meant to take it seriously. I like Machi, but her development with the backstory and romantic material just sucked. Ironically, the second half that put focus onto Yuki's biggest fangirl, Motoko Minagawa, actually landed better and got me more emotional and choked up! Yuki, you took for granted what you had in this girl and her wacky fangirl posse! The one weird part was Naohito having feelings for Minagawa the whole time. THAT'S what he meant when he declared Yuki "his rival" when they first met? C'mon now!
The second episode brought Isuzu and Haru's subplot to its climax in a truly beautiful fashion, along with some payoff for Hiro and Kisa as well, and the best part of all was getting to see Haru grilling Akito for the truth, standing up to her, and coming just short of decking her in the face. Kureno helping Haru to go reunite with Isuzu and Akito starting to break down about this was icing on the cake. I might not be the biggest fan of Kureno but compred to Akito, Ren, Shigure and the head servant, he's a good lad who understands wrong and right.
Re:ZERO - Season 2 is a go for this too, as we're treated to a horrific Happy Ending Override where Rem has ended up vanishing from everyone but Subaru's memories again and a whole bunch of Crusch's soldiers got slaughtered by two new Archbishops of the Witch's Cult, a white haired Simon Laurent and a crazed beastman who talks like Erik Scott Kimerer doing Alexander Polinsky. For some reason, the effect went in reverse for Crusch, as now she's lost her memories of everyone else. The episode's last scene with Subaru and Emilia was nothing short of extraordinary for its pathos, it really got me. Things look to be taking a darker direction for this season, and y'know what? With a show of this quality, sign me the fuck up!
Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works - Now this was a lot more interesting compared to what I'd been watching before. Lots more serious and involved discussion between Shirou, Saber, Rin, and Archer, a scene where Shinji reports to Kirei at his church and he even references his grandfather Zouken, Rin and Shirou staking out to confirm or put to rest any suspicions regarding their bespectacled classmate who lives at the temple, Rin alluding to the true connection she has with Sakura, and Shirou thinking back to Kiritsugu and why he's adopted the "hero of justice" ideals from him to the point of a stubborn, unhealthy Savior Complex. Good stuff to see get adapted.
Symphogear GX - I thought Hibiki's father seemed bad, and Tsubasa's father also seemed cold and unloving, but now we get the full truth about her birth...her grandfather is thought to be her biological father who impregnated his own daughter in law just to breed a worthy family heir and spite his two sons. DEAR GOD. Seeing how fucked up this clan is, it was unsurprising to learn that Tsubasa's father was wanting to protect his girl from dealing with it all. What was very surprising was the full extent of Carol's plan, which turned every triumph the girls had made against her Dolls upside down into defeats that only got Carol closer to her objectives, and how she accomplished so much just by spying through Elfnein's eyes. The two biggest delights here were more of Chris bonding with Kirika and Shirabe as their senpai and working together to kick ass, and the glorious return of none other than DR. VER! Extra batshit as ever and still claiming himself to be a hero, he's with Carol and the Autoscorers now! Can this possibly get any wilder? I sure hope so!
Eureka Seven - On errands with Eureka and her kids, Renton meets a kind elderly lady who turns out to be a Vodarac religion member and a suspected terrorist who Holland is after in order to turn her in and collect the bounty on her. The morality of what Gekkostate is doing suddenly gets a lot blurrier to Renton, and he and Holland now clearly have more than a few issues with each other even in spite of Holland coming through in the end to ensure the old lady evades the military after he's taken his pay. Eureka is still awesome, though!
Gintama - So this might've been my absolute favorite episode of Gintama yet. Just all the ways they played with the "whodunnit" mystery genre while also lampooning stalkers, selfish, dishonest and unloving boyfriends, and tight parental control without the child's input all in one hilariously twisty and turny episode kept me immensely engrossed and entertained from start to finish. Also, Otsu continues to be surprisingly amazing, and we even get the backstory for why Shinpachi became such a die-hard fan of her, with the one thing that distracted me is that suddenly she's singing in Japanese even in this dub; did the constant English singing of "Your Father's Bleep Bleep" face such backlash that they dared not attempt a dubover of Otsu's songs again? Ah well, that's no big loss at all!

Exodus Chapter 2 (part 1)
I want to divide this chapter into 4 parts beginning with verses 1-10. Part 2 is verse 11-14. Part 3 is 15- 22. and finally, verse 23-25 is the 4th part. The reason I want to separate them is because of the story as well as lessons involved. I really delved deep into each part because I believe that no part in the Bible is ever irrelevant or a mistake. Each letter is a word from God and should be taken seriously.
For today, I want to quote the Bible from the ESV because it gets the point across without it being overly complicated and confusing. And I want to divide it by verses so we can give it it’s due attention.
Ready? LET’S GO!
v1: Now a man from the house of Levi went and took as his wife a Levite woman. 2 The woman conceived and bore a son, and when she saw that he was a fine child, she hid him three months.
If you notice here, no one is named. And this is no mistake or laziness on the part of the author. It’s a deliberate literary way of saying where the child came from. And it didn’t name the parents at the outset for the reason that it is not quite the point of the author. It’s not part of this narrative as to who the parents are, just that they belong to the tribe of Levi.
To me, it’s curious because Levi took part in the murder of Shechem and his city. And in later chapters, his tribe was selected as the priestly tribe. They had no share of the property in Israel because God was their portion. Their lives were meant for service. But notice that at this time, Israel was still in slavery. God knows Levi’s past but did not use it against his descendants’ future.
Verse 2 is a wonderful verse. The mother of this child looked at him, she saw that he was a fine child. In the Amplified version, it says that the mother saw that he was exceedingly beautiful. The New Living Translation says that the mother saw that the child was special. This means that as soon as she saw the baby, she knew that the child had a purpose. And it’s curious that the next thing she did was to hide the child for three months. She knew the child was sent by God for a specific purpose and she had to hide the child instead of obeying the Pharaoh in killing the child.
v3:  When she could hide him no longer, she took for him a basket made of bulrushes and daubed it with bitumen and pitch. She put the child in it and placed it among the reeds by the river bank.
You can imagine what a new born baby is like. I took care of my nephew when he was a baby. And many nights I spent awake just rocking him to sleep. I would get up every two hours to feed him, burp him, change his diaper, and rock him back to sleep. And all the time my mother would wake up to see if everything was alright. I would take the child out during dawn when the sun first rises to give the child vitamins from the sun. And for this child’s first 3 months, the whole house was turned upside down because not only did we as a family have to do our daily tasks, but we also had to work around a schedule to meet the needs of my nephew.
In verse 3, we can definitely say that the birth of this child could spell a disaster. A crying child is very noticeable. And out of fear or leap of faith, the mother put the child in an ark and laid it by the river. I read a funny interpretation that the mother did literally what the Pharaoh said which was to throw the child into the river. The Pharaoh never said anything about making an ark for the child. But clearly, that’s not the point here.
The mother, instead of keeping the child and risking it’s death by discovery, chose to take a leap of faith. She deliberately placed the child into God’s hands by placing the child in the river. Not floating it down for the crocodiles to eat or any danger may come its way. Her wisdom and love, combined with God’s incredible mercy, came the salvation they had needed.
Here we can see the similarities between the child’s initial phase of life to be similar to that of Noah. The latter’s family was placed in an ark, it was waterproofed by tar and pitch. And lastly, he was meant to save humanity. However, the child’s purpose was to save a certain nation. But we can see that what the devil intended for evil, God maneuvered in his own way a way for salvation. While the Nile was meant for the destruction of the Israelites, out of it came their savior.
v4: And his sister stood at a distance to know what would be done to him.
We can see that this was a whole family affair because his sister stood some distance away to see what would happen to the child.
v5   Now the daughter of Pharaoh came down to bathe at the river, while her young women walked beside the river. She saw the basket among the reeds and sent her servant woman, and she took it. 6 When she opened it, she saw the child, and behold, the baby was crying. She took pity on him and said, “This is one of the Hebrews’ children.”
Again, neither the Pharaoh nor his daughter is named. But their acts are very significant in God’s purpose. The offspring of a murderer took pity on the child. Some people think that this was because she didn’t know her father’s decree. I beg to differ because as soon as she saw the child, she immediately recognized the child’s ethnicity. In her heart, this is a child regardless of where he came from. And because of her pure intentions, she disobeyed the decree of her father. Pharaohs are considered to be gods at that time, which is why they were named after gods. Ramses was named Ra-moshe or born of Ra. She herself could have gotten into much trouble for saving the child. So we can see that God can even use unbelievers for his greater purpose.
7 Then his sister said to Pharaoh's daughter, “Shall I go and call you a nurse from the Hebrew women to nurse the child for you?” 8 And Pharaoh's daughter said to her, “Go.” So the girl went and called the child's mother.
It’s amazing here the implications of the sister’s approach. The word “Then” implies that immediately the child’s sister came up to the princess. And to me it’s interesting that the princess did not even question why a commoner, a hebrew for that matter, would speak so boldly to her without any formality. In my mind, everyone knew what holding this child means and its importance is paramount. The survival of the child was more important than anything at that moment. Immediately, the princess told her to go and bring the child’s mother.
9 And Pharaoh's daughter said to her, “Take this child away and nurse him for me, and I will give you your wages.” So the woman took the child and nursed him. 10 When the child grew older, she brought him to Pharaoh's daughter, and he became her son. She named him Moses, “Because,” she said, “I drew him out of the water.”
I can almost imagine the sister running to the child’s mother and whispering in a hurried manner. The secrecy of it all for the sake of the child. And it’s amazing that the mother did in fact keep her child and taught the child all he needed to know. But what is more interesting is the fact that this child was not named yet until the very last verse. I don’t think the child was named when he was given back to the princess. I think the last verse was put there because what the entire chapter has shown us so far is that the names were not the emphasis.
What can Chapter 2 tell us thus far?
1) We are all called for a purpose.
I wanted to say here that actions speak louder than words but I feel like that’s such a cliché. I think the emphasis in the whole story is that it is not our title, our ethnicity, or our background that defines God’s purpose. God will use anyone and anything to His purpose. As the chapter unfolds, the characters’ actions and dynamics is given emphasis. The title here is not used to show importance or for any other reason than to show the characters as well as their significance in the culture at that time was involved. In fact, in the entire chapter, it is only Moses that has been named and only in the very last verse. To me, that speaks of a literary way of showing the horror that awaited should the child be discovered.
Also, it is amazing that the Pharaoh wanted to kill the baby boys. In the previous chapter, he even used women to implement his diabolical plan. But despite all of that, the women he thought were harmless would be the way in which God moved for His greater glory. The bottom-line is this: no one is too low or too high for God.
2) What the devil intended for evil, God will turn it around for good.
It’s curious to see how the Nile spelled both life and death for the characters. The Nile was the source of life for all Egyptians. In fact, Egypt literally means “black soil” because of siltation brought about by the river. And this siltation allowed vegetation for the entire country to be bountiful. The Nile’s flooding was believed to be given by the Egyptian god Hapi. But we see that the Pharaoh defiled even by their own terms the sacredness of this life-giving water and turned it into a symbol of death. But it’s amazing to see how God turns it around and saves one child. And it’s amazing to see that the future of an entire nation is in the hands of a baby that was supposed to die. But when God intervenes, he can turn anything around. The mother who thought she would lose the baby, ended up having the baby and being paid for it. Not only that, God gave her a second chance at life because wilfully disobeying the Pharaoh could have meant her death. All these women could have been severely punished. But God protects those that move by faith and are called according to his purpose.

also idk who jacob is-
-•-
: pre-awakened jin-woo (before entering the carthenon temple)
> he was always cautious, he didn't want [you] to hear the whispers going around about how you could've chosen someone better, about how you could've loved someone that was not him. thus, he was very shy and timid, always on edge when he feels the piercing stares from his batchmates -most especially when you try to initiate physical contact with him in your school or in public, you'd see him uncomfortable and so you'd immediately stop (because you respect him, ily). behind closed doors though he would always go above and beyond in pleasing you and making you feel loved, although he always doubts himself so you always make sure to give him praises and assure him that he is the one you love (not that jerk jacob from the class next door).
> he always wears spare hair ties or hair pins around his wrists in case you forget or lose yours. in fact when its weekends -and when he's not out infiltrating dungeons and positively offering his life on a silver platter- he always tries to study new hairdos and hairstyles so he can have more variations and choices when he ties or pins your hair for you. he'd always kiss the top of your head after and you'd feel his smile as he nuzzles your hair, smelling your shampoo. since his hair is also long, you'd also return the favor and tie his hair for him. his favorite would have to be the classic apple look with a pointy lock of hair erect in the middle -he really looks like a shih tzu, adorable-
> he.blushes.so.easily !!! he is very weak to praises and your lil kisses that pepper his face. you can see him glow and you even see his smile evidently becoming wider despite him shying away from you, looking downwards to avoid your loving gaze.
> he may be sht but he is also very playful towards you, teasing you and throwing pillows at you when you’re in his room, what a baby.
> often during dates he'd always need to leave early because he really needs to earn money and g to the dungeons. although you try to offer him some of your savings or your help during the dungeon raids, he'd always reject your offer, thinking of how it may burden you or the dungeon raids may possibly hurt you. you don't listen to him though, you give some of your savings to his sister when you cross paths in your school, and you'd always register after him in raids or call up someone you know to have you join in.
"(name) why are you here?!"
"angel face, i can handle myself just fine. it's my choice to help you and whether you like it or not, i've also been called for this raid. come love, we're going in."
> you'd always take his blue hoodie and wear it. he gets so shy when you smell it.
he gets frantic when you take his hoodie and start sniffing it, exclaiming; "stop! i smell weird."
you raise an eyebrow at him, "woo, you smell fine. i like it."
he tries to stutter a remark but was silenced by your smile.
> you always try to visit his mother with him and his sister, jinah. you always talk to their mother out loud and you'd see jinah smile gently at you and jin-woo trying to stop sniffles from escaping his lips by biting them and covering his face with his hoodie.
jinah: u simp
jin-woo: shut it
> he loved cuddles! but he really likes kissing your cheeks. he loves how soft they are and he loves feeling your cheeks move when you smile or laugh at his cute antics.
> he loves you so so dear
: post-awakened jin-woo (after the events of the carthenon temple)
> oh, dear it's the monarch-
> you weren't with him when he raided the "d-rank" dungeon that then turned out to be,, well pretty much a bloodbath, so you were very worried when you heard word of the news. you and jinah basically ran to the hospital and when you caught sight of him you almost fell down from relief and pure shock in seeing the state he's in. well, not long after though suddenly he's all buff and you were really trying to make sense of what's happening.
you: hello there good sir, what in the name of fck are you doing in my boyfriend’s room all sweaty and half-naked😀
jin-woo: (name) it’s me
you: haha yes, sir ‘it’s me’ that’s a pretty weird name but i don't judge, anyways my baby boy is not here uhm haha please get out of my boyfriend’s room
jin-woo: (name) it’s really me!
you: no sir, my woo radiates baby energy, you on the other hand radiates big dilf energy, haha i do not like what i am sensing so please for the life of me leave-
(jinah had to convince you that it is indeed jin-woo, you had her stop you from trying to hold his tiddies)
> you were very happy in seeing how confident he’s become, and you were even more proud with how he still says so humble despite his new accomplishments and title.
> it was obvious that he has become distant with others and have set a boundary between him and other hunters, you accept that part of him though since you know just how much he has gone through. he may act aloof towards others but he’s still very playful and comfortable with you.
> you have also noticed another thing though, he has become a bit possessive or much protective over you and jinah. he’d always have you bring a shadow with you to guard you when he can’t be with you. also, when someone stares at you for far too long, he’d step in and go, “hey there pal” and oh gosh was that enough to get the guy running (pretty damn hot)
> you still visit his mom with him, he doesn’t cry now though.
> when he trains, you’d insist on lying down below him when he does push-ups. you’d kiss him every time he swoops down and you’d hear him laugh which then makes you giggle as you hold his cheeks between your hands
> jinah is sick of the two you, always screaming about how on earth did her brother get an s/o before her, the audacity!
> his shadows adore you, of they’d always try to impress you or get head pats when you tell jin-woo to summon them for you. you live them to bits and always thanks them for a job well done in helping jin-woo with his raids. on the first time you accompanied him for a raid -you had to bribe him with more cuddles- and you were shocked with how his sweet adorable shadows turned a full 180, becoming ruthless towards the enemies. quite a show you’d say. after though, they’re back to flocking over you, even dismissing jin-woo lmao
jin-woo, watching you give each shadows head pats: i hate it here
you: get in line then
> it may be due to his newly acquired talents and his current mental and physical prowess but he has become more perceptive towards you. he can always read you and know just what your mood is and he always tries to make you feel better by giving his whole attention to you.
> of but of course, since dear jin-woo has become quite the looker, you also notice how girls flock over to him. and especially miss hae-in (she’s very sweet yes, but hey that’s your man so like—). the moment you discovered that she left her guild to join jin-woo’s, and then confessed (well basically she did) to your man, well you were upset but really who could blame her? instead of taking your frustrations out on her and your boyfriend, you decided to just talk it out with jin-woo and ask him about how it went. the two of you cleared it out and you got kisses and maybe even more after that ;))
> you and jin-ho are menaces to society when you are together, he hates how endearing and annoying you two can be. i mean, does he really hate it? nope, he absolutely loves seeing you two interact, although his head always throbs when you two start screaming to britney, gaga, and doja.
> a tease, he has become the master of being a tease, you hate it and love it at the same time. he’d trail kisses down your neck to your thighs and leave some marks then he’d suddenly walk away while asking you what take-out you want. rude, that’s what he is. ofc he always finished what he starts tho oop-
> he always randomly bites you now, you don’t know why but it’s really cute when he starts nibbling so you let him be.
> so extra when he tells you that he loves you. he professes it in such weird but adorable ways. one time he had printed out ‘i love you so much’ on a big-ass tarpaulin and had his shadows hold it for him while he’s kneeling down smoldering at you. you hate him so much (you don’t-). or that one time he bought a bouquet basket and had a ring tied to one of the flowers, you had to take the bouquet apart since the damn ring fell to the very bottom.
> sometimes when he gets back to the agency after his dungeon raids you and jin-ho would see him all grumpy and you immediately know that either he wasn’t able to make the enemy his soldier or his coat got ruined.
jin-woo: *sad noises*
jin-ho: that’s okay, you can kill and slaughter the others and take their souls next time
you: jin-ho couldn’t you have worded that better-
over-all, he’s the bestest boyfriend, such a sweet and handsome pretty boy much strong and reliable we love him<333
-•-
- a/n: i can add more to this if you’d like!! just hit me up again lmao it’s too long now so-
