Any general thoughts on/relating to the Brobot?

Have my half awake scrawlings...

I really love the brobot!!!! People really misconstrue it and also leave it out in a lot of dirkjake talk? Its a big player in not only how dirk expresses his affection/desire towards jake but also in their multi year spanning unspoken game of gay chicken 😭😭(all of dirks splinters are but Not about them rn)

It was sent yknow under the pretense that jake loves wrestling and wished so bad to have somebody he could wrestle with. But at the same time it protects jake from the horrors of hellmurder island (seen before they strife), pushing jake into the Damsel in distress role he wasnt expecting to play even before all the shit in the game, with Dirk being his hero.

Jake says he keeps it on a high difficulty because apparently in the Novice mode he says their interactions become "too tender" and doesnt want to elaborate, Friendly reminder! His convo with jane on the SAME DAY dirk pulled off that big romantic overture and the kiss happens and him and dirk begin "dating".. is the same day he asked jane if it didnt make him weird for wanting to date dirk. And he also says hed joke around with dirk about how theyd soo make a great couple if dirk were a girl haha.

I imagine the brobot and well. Getting physical like that with a robot that supposedly looks like dirk probably gave jake his internal gay awakening at 13 but he just never wanted to actually confront it and instead just wanted to brush past everything 😭😭 (See: every single time sexuality or romance comes up in relation to jake he is literally always thinking about dirk somehow and he never directly talks about his attraction to men or how that reflects/contradicts on his self image of the Movie Star Hero guy)

and jake doesnt actually hate the thing either, he tells jane he thinks it genuinely did improve his fighting capabilities (Which we see it did in collide! he beat basically the whole felt with guns and fisticuffs alone, no hope powers.) Which serves as a pretty evident parallel to dave who also is good at fighting, even if he doesnt want to be. (see dirk + dave convo)

This one comes from hussies authors notes in the aradiabot and equius scene (which equius imagery being invoked with dirk. something i could totally rant about another time haha) but yeah. Jake was being selfish asshat in that log forcing jane into a corner and wringing what he wanted to hear out of her, and also not giving a shit about the brobot (Which served as his protector and only other semblance of human connection since he was 13 and was a BIRTHDAY GIFT FROM DIRK) KILLING ITSELF? But hes so preoccupied talking about dirk. THE REAL DIRK. And immediately after jake loses the dirk splinter that protected him, HE (AND DIRK) CREATE A NEW ONE FOR HIMSELF USING THEIR COMBINED POWERS/?

Hussie is lying.. somebody Does care about dirks feelings. a whole lot to the point they activate their powers unwittingly Because of it. and its jake. but jake just cant admit that himself. (He cannot admit his real feelings until given permission to, dirk would have to concede the game of gay chicken first using his words and not just actions)

ANYWAY. hussie is so right its so easy to get sidetracked times one million talking about this comic. BUT AHH!! BROBOT. his existence.. tragic.. Jakes really smart in knowing that all of dirks splinters enlighten aspects of himself he doesnt oft share, and the brobot served as another dirk action on the pile of dirk actions he engineers to signify his deep immense care for jake, where he lets these grand gestures and implications sit out in the open without ever actually saying what they mean and where his feelings lay.

EVEN IF ITS SUPER OBVIOUS. The d man cant use his big boy words to actually describe his feelings despite how much a yaps! so jake doesnt know if hes even allowed to say anything about his own. Fellas: Is it gay if you labour for supposedly an extended period of time to create a custom robot in your own image to ship in pieces to your best bro guy crush who is HUNDREDS OF YEARS IN THE PAST because you cant be there yourself?

I think this hal message says enough about how bad dirk wished he could visit jake 💀💀

Walking out of the room after your face was cooled down, holding onto the bag you decided on bringing, packed with sunscreen, shades, a towel and a water bottle. A million and one thoughts running through your mind. Though your mind was more set on getting the male back, because this meant war, and you didn't feel like being the bigger person.

Making sure Pop had water and food before you left, spotting Seonghwa, along with Yeosang, Hongjoong and Mingi; with the girl that was attached to his hip. Which made you wonder whoever she was, though you weren't particularly too interested in getting to know her just yet, and that seemed to be the case with her as well. Since Mingi hadn't introduced her to anyone yet, but everyone seemed to know her. So why not to you?

You moved past the couple and squeezed yourself between Yeosang and Seonghwa. Yeo sang smiled at you. "I can't wait to swim, its actually going to be so fun" the male said. Yeosang loved to swim, it was one of his hobbies. You were surprised he didn't make a career out of it. "I can't wait either" you smiled and gently touched his shoulder as he finally looked at you and then noticed your outfit. "Wow, Y/N??" the male spoke, slightly causing attention before you blushed and covered your breast. "Yeosang..!" you whined, turning his face away and blushing, hearing a slight snicker come from Seonghwa's lips.

"Wow, never noticed how big they were" Hongjoong spoke before laughing, getting nudged by Seonghwa in the side. "Please stop looking at her breast yeah?" Seonghwa frowned, his eyes rolling at you before he took your arm and pulled you back, Yeosang stopping and looking at you before you nodded for him to continue walking with the others. Once they were a bit far and it seemed like they couldn't hear the conversation that was about to occur, you snatched your hand away.

"Don't grab me like that" you snatched your hand away, rolling your eyes at the male. "Why are you causing attention to your body, that's supposed to be only for me to 'see'" the male air quoted. "So, you can tease me? But I can't have any fun? Plus, it was Yeosang that started, he's gay and we aren't dating, I don't see the problem." you spoke. "I came here to have a fun time, and that's what I'm going to do, okay pretty boy?' you spoke, crossing your arms and raising your eyebrow. Seonghwa sighed and nodded. "Yeah, alright." he spoke, "I don't want to argue, especially since I can't tell my parents about us just yet." the male rubbed his temple and looked at you, this time taking your hand. You didn't pull away and nodded. "Fair enough" you spoke, deciding to stop with the childish games and arguing. It was a trip, a break in daily life with your ex. It was time to actually have some fun.

Once everyone arrived at the lake, the 6 of you enjoyed 30 minutes of free time, swimming around the water and just playing with each other, splashing and having swimming races. You got out, climbing onto the dock with some help from Seonghwa.

Jumping into the water from the dock you felt free, your hair becoming wet, something you'd regret dealing with later. Hongjoong swam to you and laughed a bit. "Want to join in on chicken fight?" the male asked, and you responded with a nod. Seeing the line up, it was Mingi and the girl, Hongjoong on Yeosang's shoulder and you on Seonghwa's. You chuckled a little as you and Seonghwa had the same smirk on your faces. You knew you were going to win.

"Okay!" you said, approaching Seonghwa who was in the water, him leaning down with a smile so you could crawl up on his shoulder, wrapping your legs around him, gently gripping his hair to keep yourself balanced as you felt his arms wrap around your legs. You looked down at him and grinned as he grinned back.

"Okay, let's keep this fair and square, no scratching and last person wins" Hongjoong announced. You all waited for the countdown, smirking and when it started, everyone rushed together, your hand first meeting with Hongjoong, who was in particularly stronger than you, your palms and hands interlocking as you grabbed his and tried to pull forward, almost losing your balance. With the extra help from the girl whose name was still unknown to you. You were able to get Hongjoong down as he flopped into the water, Yeosang going down with him, causing a big splash. You laugh and lean down to wipe Seonghwa's face, clearing it from the lake water. "Thank you" he smiled before you looked up and were met with the face of the unfamiliar woman.

You gasping as she pushed your chest, shoving you hard as you fell back, holding your breathe and unwrapping your legs from across Seonghwa's face. Hearing the gasp of everyone before your back hit the water and both you, and Seonghwa went under. You came back up after a few seconds and coughed. Seonghwa coming back up as you both wiped your face of the lake water, your eyes darting to the woman. "Why the hell did you push my chest?!" you yelled towards her, your eyebrows pinched together. "Isn't that the point of the game?" she asked, as if she was confused. Bitch.

"No!" you shouted, rolling your eyes at her. "Yeah Lily, you're not supposed to push anyone's chest, it's dangerous." Seonghwa spoke, rubbing his neck. "Oh... I'm sorry" she said, starting to get emotional, starting to cry. "Are you for real..." you muttered under your breath, Seonghwa gently elbowing you. Mingi consoled the woman as he walked her up to the beach.

"No need to be rude y'all, she said she was sorry" Mingi spoke as he looked back. You took a deep sigh and rolled your eyes. "I can't believe she started crying, I mean, I should be the one crying. My chest hurts!" you mumbled, slightly yelling the last part as you rolled your eyes. "I think that's enough lake time for today" Yeosang spoke, walking towards the sandy part, pulling down his shorts. The rest of you agreeing before you all did the same.

Afterwards the sun was starting to set, you all made it back to the house where there were more cars parked in front. At least 2 more than before. You finally were able to take in how big the house was. The brown cabin log exterior trapping all the rooms inside. Once you were showered, you were joined by Seonghwa who rested on the bed and Pop who laid directly beside you. Your fingers moving through the dog's golden locks, sitting up and turning to Seonghwa who was running his hands through his own hair. "Do you think she did it on purpose?" you asked, your mind still wandering back to it and the look in her eyes.

"Push you? I don't know." the male said, sitting up and looking at you. You frowned. "I mean, why would she have a reason to? She doesn't even know you". "Right" you agreed, rubbing your head, your head laying onto the males lap, finding comfort in the place before you rubbed your eyes. "I'm tired, what time is it?" you asked, the male hummed and pulled out his phone, "8:45" he responded as you just nodded, looking up at him as the sunset hit his face, causing his face to be a color of orange and yellow.

The golden hour is what you considered it. A small smile appeared before you looked at Pop. "Ready to go out one last time before bed?" you asked the dog before he leaped off of the bed and waited patiently by the door.

"Want me to come with?" Seonghwa asked and you nodded in response, grabbing the collar and leash for the dog. You smiled and sighed before attaching it around the dog's neck as you and Seonghwa made your way downstairs and out of the back door, the sun setting quickly as you walked down a path along the back of the house to allow Pop to use the bathroom.

"Hey!" you both heard behind you, Mrs. Park approaching the two of you, "Oh hey mom, what's wrong?" he asked, the woman smiled and shook her head, tying the silk string around her waist. "Your dad is driving to pick up some pizza for dinner, but I heard what happened at the lake today, i came to check on Y/N to see if she was okay" the woman spoke, looking at you. Seonghwa's eyes following.

"Yes ma'am, I'm fine" you spoke, your eyes going to the womans, though all you could see was concern. "I'm fine Mrs. Park, really" you spoke.

"Alright, well don't stay out here too long, it's getting cold." she spoke, and with that the woman made herself inside.

"Who even is the girl?" you whispered to Seonghwa as he hummed. "She's Mingi's girlfriend, from what I seen she never leaved his side" he shrugged and rubbed his arms. "Yeah, I've noticed that too".

The two of you headed back into the house, letting pop loose as he ran to Yeosang who was coming down the stairs. Yeosang bending down to pet him and Seonghwa locked the back door. Then excusing himself to find everyone else that arrived.

Yeosang came back to you, massaging his head. "How are you feeling?" he asked, walking over to the couch and flopping down onto it. You flop down beside him after your eyes followed Seonghwa.

"I'm fine" you said, eyeing the male, "What's wrong with you?". "I have a headache, my room is right next to Mingi and Lily's and she's been crying since we got back, I didn't even know people had that many tears in their body" he groaned and looked at you.

You laughed a little. "Just because she's making the crying noises, doesn't mean there's any coming from her eyes" you stated. "I don't know, but I wish she'd" the male stopped and looked around, leaning into you "Shut. Up" he finished, leaning back. "I don't blame you" you chuckled and shook your head.

The two of your conversation stopping once you heard footsteps from the stairs, both of your head shooting to the stairs, seeing Mingi and of course Lily coming down the stairs. Her cheeks were flushed, her hands holding onto Mingi's.

"Speak of the devil" Yeosang said, the two of you standing up.

"Y/N may I speak with you... privately" she said eyeing Yeosang. You nodded and assured Yeosang you'd be okay before Mingi let the womans hand go, pressing it against her back before she finished walking down the stairs, Yeosang passing the both of them.

"Want to talk outside?" you asked, and she nodded as you unlocked the front door and turned on the porch light, the only other light being the moon as the sun finally set.

It was a little awkward at first, because she didn't speak. You looked her way, looking at the woman, she was really pretty. The way her skin contrasted against the porches light, her big blue ocean eyes staring at you. "Well, I guess I'll start then" she spoke.

But her attitude wasn't pretty at all. That was probably everyone's least favorite feature of her. She seemed like she wasn't a pleasant person to hang out with.

"Yeah, you should" you said a bit coldly. She sighed. "I'm sorry for pushing you, I didn't mean it" the woman spoke. You nodded, she didn't seem genuine to you, and that wasn't going to cut it. "Aren't you going to apologize Y/N?" she asked with a bit of smite in her words, causing you to raise your eyebrow towards her question. "No, I didn't do anything wrong" you spat. "You did, you yelled at me."

You chuckled, it leading to a scoff. "Are you serious?" you asked, and she replied with a nod. "No, your apology didn't sound sincere enough for me to apologize for yelling at you, so why should I?" you asked. It was justified.

Lily scoffed and shook her head. "Whatever, I have the upper hand anyway." she rolled her eyes. "Because I actually date someone in the family" she whispered as you slightly raised your eyebrow, your heart beating out of your chest. "Yeah, I know." she spoke. Smirking a little the woman hummed, opening the door, stopping in her tracks. "Goodnight, Y/N" the woman mumbled and went inside.

You stood there for a minute, a bit shocked by the womans last words, scoffing a little. "What a bitch..." you mumbled before going inside, shutting off the porch light and locking the door, making your way back up to you and Seonghwa's shared room. Seeing Pop and the male cuddled up on the bed, the light from the moon peeking through the curtains. Deciding it was best to just leave everything for in the morning and hope to get this long day over with. You slid into bed, letting out a deep sigh. Feeling the soft plush of the mattress and your dog move down to the bottom of the bed, Seonghwa's arm wrapping around you pulling you close. Uttering a few words.

"Just like you said, I only need you because it’s cold", though you knew better. Letting yourself fall into the male's warmth, your hands wrapping around his body as you drifted off to sleep.

So, it was either this, or surrender the cookie to Grian.

“Oh, last biscuit,” Grian was shaking the box of pocky upside-down into his hand, as if that would make any more of the cookies suddenly appear.

“That's mine, you had the last one,” Taurtis called. They'd been splitting the box as an after-school snack, sitting on the couch across from the TV.

“Aw, I dunno, I really want it,” Grian argued lightly, gaze narrowing in on the pocky stick. “I mean, I did buy them after all.”

“For us to share,” Taurtis reminded him, definitely not pouting a little. “You said it yourself, we're sharing, so that one's mine.”

“Yeah, but I bought them,” Grian reiterated, as if it mattered. His eyes seemed to sparkle with his next words, “let's play a game for it.”

Taurtis couldn't help but start getting excited, leaning forwards a little. “A game? What kind?”

“You ever heard of the pocky game before?”

“That's not real, you made that up.” No way was there a game this relevant to the situation, especially just by its name.

Grian laughed at that, shaking his head. “No, no I'm serious, you can google it. It's real.”

He could google it, sure, but his phone was downstairs. “Fine, okay, what is it?”

“It's kind of like gay chicken,” Grian explained, a little more serious than before. “See, we each take an end of the pocky stick in our mouths. We take turns biting from opposite sides, and whoever takes the last bite without chickening out and pulling away wins.”

“Pfft, easy.” Taurtis hadn't even really processed the whole idea, but that didn't sound hard at all. “I'd win that easy.”

“Want to?” Grian held up the cookie between the two of them, an unreadable smile on his face. “I'll even let you start on the dipped end, since it was technically yours.”

It was either this, or surrender the cookie to Grian. He nodded, determined. “Of course.”

It took a bit of finagling to get the two of them close enough to actually play. They moved to face each other, legs haphazardly thrown over one another, tangled, but comfortable. The movie from earlier was still playing on the TV, but it had faded into background noise as Taurtis focused on the task at hand.

“You can take the first bite if you want,” Grian murmured, before gently placing the pocky between his lips.

He didn't stare. He definitely didn't stare for a couple of seconds before leaning forwards. Taurtis may have taken too big of a bite for the game, though standard for him, he wasn't prepared for just how close it brought him to Grian's face, feeling his breath as the other laughed around the treat at his eagerness.

Grian didn't hesitate for too long either, taking his own bite, bringing himself closer.

Taurtis wasn't going to lose, he refused to pull away first. His next bite was much smaller than the first, mostly to try and ease his heart pounding in his chest. This time he could actually taste the chocolate, not having swallowed it so quickly in his need to win.

And Grian took another bite. His hand had found its way to Taurtis’ knee for balance, squeezing a little.

Another small bite, practically a nibble from Taurtis. They were so close, Grian had to pull away this time, right?

Taurtis had never been more wrong. Grian didn't even bother biting down again, instead leaning forward and pressing their lips together. Taurtis’ head was spinning, his heart working double time in his chest. Once he finally processed the situation enough for his jaw to fall slack and to start leaning in himself- Grian pulled away.

“I win.” He had the last of the pocky stick in his mouth, and it quickly disappeared with a smug smile. “Guess it wasn't as easy as you thought, huh?” He was already opening the second box of pocky he'd bought earlier.

Taurtis looked over him, noting the pink in his cheeks before looking to the foil packaging Grian was tearing open. He licked his lips. “Best two out of three.”

With Gales Of Nayeli putting out an updated demo I wanted to take some time to be this games hype woman. I want this game to do well because it seems like most of what I've ever wanted in my favorite kind of video games. So much so it's inspiring me to want to make a video game myself. Blindcoco is great and I am thrilled about this game so allow me to gush to you a bit on all the parts of this game that make it really exciting and special to me.

Queerness in focus

I highlight this first cuz it's what sold me and it's also something people who follow me care a lot about. The games Creator didn't flinch when I asked on the kickstarter about Sapphic rep and since then we've talked a lot on discord about the game in general so I have a wide but not complete idea of how big queerness is in GoN. 

The main character is a bi woman with 4 romance options 2 men 2 women and like most romance in this game the romances go beyond the start of relationships in their support conversations or an end card but actually have at least One conversation in a relationship.  For Nayeli Our main character it elevates the character she romanced even further, making them a must deploy and adding even more time for their romance to shine in the plot and not just in the supports.  

Of course a bi MC is amazing but it goes beyond this with many bisexual characters and a few Lesbains and Gay men too. The lesbians and Gay men aren't Heathered or Leoned and left to be forever alone and are allowed to thrive while being gay and also allowed to have friendships with people on top of romance. Same goes for most bi characters. These romances and friendships the characters have also provide some mechanical advantage from unlocking classes to weapons and more really making these relationships feel like they have weight instead of being some flavor that mostly doesn’t matter. 

The game even features 2 trans men and a trans woman in its cast. The developer has put a lot of work into making his game feel like a world that in some ways Is better than our own without just the hand waving touch of saying the world's accepting without ever showing queer people. 

I have to reserve final judgment for how the game handles queerness when I actually play the game and review it but at this phase of in depth conversation and being shown information I can say with confidence that we're at least seeing someone try and honestly that's a lot more than most SRPGs. It really seems like this could dwarf the next best offerings by a bit

A wildly fun roster of characters 

This roster is diverse but not just in skin tone but in the fantastical ways too. You can find Snake girls, Harpies, Demons, Squirrel Girls, wolf girls, shark boys, and even a chicken among your party. The roster really ranges with ethnicity, cultures, personalities and even species. 

I do think it’s most important to talk about the diversity that matters most and is here in the real world and that is this game's dedication to trying to literally make own voices, hiring voice actors and doing it’s best to get people from similar backgrounds to play characters. The cast has a really wide range of real world cultures that are being pulled from and used as inspiration in the fantasy world and to that end there is a level of making sure the people from these cultures are getting some money in the process even if it is the smaller funds an indie game budget can afford to give. 

WIth a roster of over 30 characters there is likely a character who you relate to, who you might feel some kind of kinship with or want to look like especially when you throw promotions and the like in the mix. You want a showy performer she's here, want a smooth dancer you got it, want a fierce warrior they got plenty. 

I think the “monster” people add a lot to the game in concept too where in so many games you will just murder harpies or snakes or demons because the game simply says their evil or animals this game provides a challenge to this existing framework with even early party subverting standard tropes by giving you access to a dark elf Keri who is not just a big deal but a main love interest for the main character. This can really challenge the fantasy racism that so casually shows up in so many games and get you to think of every enemy human or not as another soldier in this conflict, not something evil that must be rooted out. 

Amazing Artwork

The game has stunning sprites and a true depth of art put into it. Every character has multiple promoted classes each of which has its own sprite and it's own art work meaning In and out of battle you'll see the advancement of the character. The creator of the game is the artist who is drawing all the core art for characters and has put a lot of work into the roster including revamping most of the art he had previously done to make the promoted art work for all the story scenes with expressions and everything. There is a lot of love and care into all the sprites and a lot of intentionality into making sure the art and sprites feel like the same character. 

The art goes beyond the visual too with way more voice work then one would expect from an indie game with this kind of budget including special lines for when characters who are important to each other interact in particular ways, several lines for hitting critical hits, even lines for abilities they can rarely access. While the game sadly didn’t reach the stretch goal for full voice acting it’s clear that the voice acting they could afford was all put to great use with a ton of wonderful little bits of flavor brought to life by amazing voice talent. 

If your as dorky as me hearing a game was made in SRPG Studio might automatically give you a mental image of how the UI elements will look and everything but the art direction in this game extends beyond all the elements previously mentioned and into the UI design with constant tweaks and changes to make sure the game feels like Gales Of Nayeli and not SRPG Studios presents another indie SRPG. Not that there's anything wrong with that but it gives GoN a very nice feel even just in the basic parts of presentation going that extra inch to not just feel like a copy and paste job. 

So many ways to play

The game offers a lot of modes and ways to modify gameplay. It knows a lot of what those deep into SRPGs already like to do but Also has features for people who want to go wild like a mode that makes your leveling utterly ridiculously strong. Beyond the amount of shifts with difficulty modes you have this huge roster with so many different classes  including the monsters and such mentioned earlier but also a wide range of classes performed by more standard humans too allowing for every kind of play style. Then if that wasn't enough there are ways with items both equipment and enchantment Items to further shape your roster for you. 

Every character has multiple classes they can promote to baring the games select characters who area already in a promoted class with each character's class list being uniquely made for them. This means even if  you want to play with the same characters you have at least 2 different ways to play the characters with the cap being 5 different classes for Nayeli and some characters having 3. Even the chicken gets to have multiple promoted class options.

The game has ways for you to see RNs, it has ways to play where you never gain stats and where you always gain stats, it can even turn on a fan of SRPG favorite the weapon triangle where weapons function similarly to Fire Emblem games where particular weapons have advantage over others. 

The game is also designed for replay with lots of secrets in the games from items to recruitable characters to secret chapters to the previously announced benefits that are unlocked with relationships. You can enjoy multiple playthroughs mixing up party members, relationships, items, classes, and builds to play.  It's even got you covered if you don't want to replay but want a little more after the story with post game maps for just enjoying your party and taking on challenges if your not ready to say bye to the characters yet.

however, he also canonically likes shooters, and imo his favourite is splatoon because funny little squid people

when casey told him about how he pieced together his laptop from scrapped and stolen parts he became fascinated with it and began helping him upgrade it. now they own a pc which is top of the range but looks like the aftermath of a shrapnel bomb, gradient considers it his pride and joy

has errors lack of taste and willingness to eat anything, combined with inks general lack of taste and culinary knowledge. bro is eating packet noodles and chicken nuggets every day. casey once tried to cook breakfast, he made scrambled eggs but completely charred the eggs and he ate it anyways because it was a nice gesture. i think he can actually cook quite well though, he just cant be arsed too and the microwave is so much less effort

i like to imagine he is a genetic freak, sure gaster got the majority of his dna from ink and error, but he had to improvise certain parts, and others he simply added to really make his bioweapon pop yknow? he has retractable fangs and his teeth and eyes glow in the dark. hes like an alternate, his body doesnt work like how its supposed to, in cases this means he is flexible, too flexible, his jaw can extend further than it should, but in others it means his body craps out and is really susceptible to certain things like carpal tunnel syndrome or some form of skeleton-monster-thing chronic illness

cannot stand his reflection because he looks like error, none of the bathrooms on the floor his bedroom is on have mirrors, they did at one point but after having punched one in panic ink got rid of them all. this only became worse after the tERROR incident

really needs to see a therapist, he hates relying on casey because he feels as though hes putting all of his problems on him. goes through moods where he doesnt tell casey any of his worries and puts on a pretend happy front, whilst they dont argue a lot this is usually when they do argue because casey doesnt like gradient keeping his feelings secret, and bottling up his feelings only ends up making gradient stressed and snappy

okay so i know we usually play armchair psycologist and just claim every one in the undertale extended universe is autistic, but i need you to hear me out on this one, this little fucker is so unbelievably autistic its insane, error and by extension any glitched weirdo is already so autismcoded, generally cant stand touch/intimacy, like to be alone, difficulties expressing emotions especially empathy, flat affect or displaying inappropriate responses or facial expressions, but on top of all that hes also got a limited group of friends (especially in tcoti lmaoo) and interests, acts somewhat childish despite his age, and is a complete and total shut-in. yes these things could be explained away by other things such as him having anxiety about leaving the house due to incidents but the way he goes on about it is so incredibly relatable to me, someone with autism, he cannot simply just avoid certain situations, no he has to completely and totally avoid any and all social interaction he cant control and script beforehand, which in and of itself is black and white thinking

Gradient’s creation, why he was created, and by whom is a very important part of the story that I am telling :)

Tepig line: 10/10 Chunky to WWE pipeline, also Emboar is fun to say and I like it’s tag teaming with the anteater thing against the metal ants. I like those kinds of prey predator relationships in Pokémon

Oshawott line: 3/10, like Oshawott, don’t like the other two that much. It does get another point for the name reminding me of osha though.

5. Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee

One of my two biggest childhood influences. Ps1/PC puzzle/platformer/adventure game about a funny blue guy escaping from slavery when he discovers his whole race is about to get butchered and sold as food products. Gets back in touch with his native roots and gets granted spiritual powers to help him free his fellow captives and topple capitalism while killing hundreds of cops along the way. There's no guns but there are grenades occasionally. Or you can possess the cops and make them use their guns to kill other cops. And then blow themselves up. Has a ton of sequels and a couple remakes, ports and remasters on PC and just about every other console. Cannot recommend enough. Also you can fart on command this game has a dedicated Fart button you use it for communicating (and then in the sequel you can possess farts too)

4. Myst

The other childhood influence. This game and whole series made me a huge wanderlust slut. Point and click adventure, puzzle solving, world exploring, journal reading. Some puzzles will definitely have you Stumped (but feel free to hmu bc I still have the first game memorised like the back of my hand and am happy to offer guidance ^^) my fave is actually the third game Exile, but I gotta pay respect to the OG. It's full of images and sound effects that remain engraved in my brain in vivid detail 20+ years later

3. Bloodborne

I'm actually not talking abt the whole "series" here I dont rly care much for dark souls etc. It's just this one lmao. Love the tone, love the gameplay, love the level design, love all the horrid monster designs. Love the Rally mechanic discouraging you from hiding and playing safe when you should be going full throttle wailing on everything as fast as possible. I love learning to party attacks with a firearm instead of a shield. I love the blood vials system. I love the doll I love Eileen the crow I love lady Maria I love all the funny little creachurs and most of all I love dying and being dead

2. Final Fantasy V

This ones kinda personal and maybe a bias I guess but idk this was my first FF and even now when I go back to it it just Hits Different somehow. Maybe it's nostalgia/bias but even comparing it to the other pre-ps1 FFs it's just got this vibe of its own. The music helps ofc the music is so fuckin good esp the new pixel remaster arramgements. Anyway it's a nice fun story about Four Complete Randos And Their Grandpa And Pet Chicken And Pet Dragon And Pet Sea Serpent And A Gay Pirate Gang And A Furry And Also A Tortoise At One Point who fight against a Giant Evil Tree that spent like a hundred years absorbing all of the most Evil souls in the world and now he wears a big blue suit of armour and calls himself Exdeath. He wants to conquer and kill and maim and destroy and eventually suck the entire world into The Void for no other reason than he's evil and loves being evil and badass. Not a whole ton of complex plot depth but that's why it's so approachable as a FF game. Also this game is where Gilgamesh and Battle on the Big Bridge came from, plus Omega and Shinryu, so if you like those then you're obligated to play this one. Also one of the main characters is a genderfluid twink with a thing for silver foxes and another is a non-binary/transmasc pirate

I couldn't not lmao. The entire series Of Course but also in this case I specifically mean the first one. Again it might be nostalgia bias but the first KH just has this unique charm to it, this warm atmosphere that none of the others have been able to replicate. Traverse town feels like a second home to me
