HA uh it's not a real cult! it's more like a cult following if anything, the Guys™️ are just dramatic / passive-aggressive about it

a 'cult following of what' you may ask! well! it's a cult following of Wally! or more specifically, Wally's art. it isn't like, Famous or anything, but there's a niche group of art enthusiasts/snobs/etc that are borderline Obsessed with it (in my mind his art Is pretty funky! i like to think that he has mild associative synesthesia, which bleeds into his work along with his disregard for art 'rules' and the like)

it's not a huge problem? just a minor nuisance. and as a plus, it means that those people will pay absurd amounts for Wally's pieces when he sells them (or is doing commission work)!

Wally has mixed feelings about it. on one hand, he does Not mind attention & loves to talk about his art and meet new people. on the other hand, a lot of his "fans" are overbearing / over-familiar and blatantly misinterpret him and his art. so while Wally loves attending art shows etc, whenever he recognizes one of his "fans" walking over he'll often make an excuse to leave for a minute (or one of his friends will act as sort of a bodyguard lol)

how many times do we need to learn as people that irony and hyperbole can be harmful because 'jokes' aren't easily distinguished from genuine thoughts and feelings until we stop rewarding people for speaking or posting about violence

like even if you're joking/don't actually believe that/think whoever you are insulting is bad/immoral/fictional therefore deserves it - ad hominem attacks always do more harm to the people who share those characteristic then the individual you intend to cause harm to or discredit

Absolutely hilarious to me that I can not reliably recognize Daniel Shanks as Daniel in SG-1. If he's not wearing glasses or if he's beat up in some way, I can not reliably recognize him. It's so bad, I've never had this issue with a singular character before.

oh yeah okay here's my understanding of the events, although again i wasn't present and am not fluent in portuguese so i could have some details wrong. also honestly it's way less interesting than it sounds i think it'll just seem really lame 😭

but basically cellbit is VERY good at tetris, and used to play more on stream, but he would get a little ragey and in one particular instance people in chat were backseating/talking smack and he was really pissed off that day, so he was shouting and called someone a pleb because they were a prime sub (or like, whatever the equivalent of pleb is in portuguese, im not sure. regardless it was a twitch meme at the time as well to do that). i think he also banned some people and was in general just yelling a lot, and people got upset and cancelled him on twitter for being classist because of the pleb comments and the yelling and it was a whole fucking thing. i think that's basically all of it, although there might be some context im missing.

so the fun part is just that it's really funny to say he got cancelled for playing tetris and also that it was over like nothing in actuality
