The Premier League kicks off this week, so I guess it’s time to start writing that football AU that's been eating away at my brain ever since one drunken night with some otaku and football-loving friends, we made up two Jujutsu teams. Of course, Geto and Gojo weren’t on the same team. Why? That’s when I started thinking...

Anyway :) I made these drawings with that in mind, right before the last Manchester derby. The Community Shield reminded me of them, and just how much I love football and drawing this duo from time to time.

(But I prefer writing them hahaha)

im excited about its called soccer for more cranky middle aged men bickering from jamie and gary of course. however watching their first podcast episode kind of pissed me off ngl. like they make it clear they don't actually know much about the very simple reasons the US nt isn't as competitive despite soccer being the most commonly played youth sport which is the pay to play system at the youth level. like, the pay-to-play youth structure is such a fundamental aspect of what makes the us soccer landscape less successful and the fact that it was not brought up once over that entire conversation does not bode very well for, like, how informed discussion will be on that podcast going forward

what happened at the Olympics this year only proves to me that the internet and social media are going to take all the fun out of these events. people might come at me with a sense of justice and argue about who deserves this or that, but the thing is that what makes sport SO intense and SO good is that it involves countless emotions as it is happening. while you are watching it / living it / experiencing it. when you can't celebrate a victory or the score of a point bc you're afraid that the internet will tell you hours or days later that it wasn't, in fact, a victory/a point or whatever, you're taking the entire emotion out of it and therefore ruining the whole thing.

yes, it sucks when injustice happens. and yes, athletes go through unfair results a lot of times. but once the game/match/competition is over it should be over. and thats it.

It's such a tiny innocuous thing that really doesn't matter, but I feel like calling duel monsters a children's card game (when it's fundamentally baked into everyday life, and your social existence is judged by what you play and how you play it so very intensely, for everyone in-universe) is an absolute injustice to what it is for that universe of people.

thing is if leo wasn't the type of person he was to make this questionable decision I wouldn't love him so much. like he's not chosen any European club bc he loves Barca too much, u could see psg was just for wc training and at the end of the day he's a father & husband who wants what's best for his kids and not to ferry them around everywhere and that's what I love about him. he sacrificed himself so Barca players wouldn't be sold, he is finishing his European on top of the world and I'll always support him
