Being Venom's host and dating Spiderman HCS
Masterlist
Andrew!Spider
He is amused at first.
He is a big geek for comics and nerd about science so when he saw an alien with a parasite form who is an antihero and plus is unified with an atractive human, inmediatly obsessed.
This means that your first dates were in reality lab dates, with him making tests on the symbionte and chatting with you.
Like all spidermans, he doesn't like the killing part but he makes all his efforts to prevent it from happening.
Which means always having chocolate snacks on his bag and even making like protein snacks with the substance you need.
Venom says it tastes really bad but you oblige him to not say anything because Peter looks really happy to help you feed.
Spontaneous dates where you both climb onto the empire state or things like that.
Always being lab partners and eating together.
He got used to Venom's pressence really fast, you were worried he would be uncomfortable with it but he accepted it was a part of you.
He even ends up being the pacifier if Venom and you are angry at each other. One time even unifiying to Peter to make you jealous and making him see their point.
Many sessions of cuddles and emotional support since you sometimes feel like a monster.
He is the most understanding and lovable boyfriend.
Holland!Spider
He is scared of you at first.
He intented to escape you always or arrest you for being a villain.
After some time he started to get to know you a little better, and that made it a lot easier to get along.
He starts to see more the person you are and not the homicidal killer Venom makes you.
You ask him to date, he got nervous but said yes, and for a couple of weeks, you thought he was scared to say no.
But surprisingly, he was a good boyfriend and tried to be the best at taking care of you both.
So your worries faded out.
Dating him It's like dating a pomeranian dog while you are a Big doberman.
You both tried to date like normal people and dont involve your heroes counterparts because yes, he tries to convince Venom to be a hero.
Even with that efforts, you still manage to be protective over him while he gets on night watches.
You are ussually the one iniciating the affections and physic contact but he always corresponds you.
He is a very awkward and clumsy boyfriend.
Miguel O'hara
He hates you at first.
And you both never quite make your relationship oficial.
Every Spider has a Venom but he surely cant stand you at first, and he says that to you very often.
But Its like you are stuck together in that mess.
But then you save his life, and then he is in the need of doing the same, and so on...
Until he started to hate you more for saving him and not being such a bad person, but in reality he started to hate the fact that he found you attractive.
He tries to insult you but you snap him back and that just makes him like you more.
His efforts to continue hating you weren't good which means, one day he couldn't stand It more and kissed you angrily.
That happened again the next day and that other, until almost daily.
You never make it oficial but you know the way he is with you is especial, even with the grumpyness.
He indeed, likes your strenght and determination.
He always tries to look mad and angry at your actions, some times he even is, but he cant be away from you too much so he goes back almost inmediatly.
He is a grumpy and stressed boyfriend

This picture is an exception. Why and how I turned it into a cover ⬇️
A few days ago, I was talking to a friend who is a designer and an incredibly theoretical, forward-thinking person. He had told me about his studies, about image composition, which images were discussed in the lectures etc etc.
It was very interesting because I draw completely intuitively myself. I don't think and mostly don't have a "background story" in my head - I'm very happy to leave the interpretations to the viewer.
Exception example: when I draw scenes from my fanfiction(s). Then, of course, EVERYTHING in my mind is full of the story and I have deviating difficulties expressing it visually, would prefer to draw the story as a comic and so on.
Until today I came up with the idea (very spontaneously) of including "narrative details". Of course I had already done this subconsciously in my art works before, but today I had this relationship of two beings in mind who only want the best and yet are (apparently?) doomed to fail.
And I am somehow very pleased with the outcome. So I made it the cover of the third (and final part) of my series.
So... yeah... Thanks for reading this far, I guess? ;D

HELLO ITS ME--
Sorry I've been gone for so long, I've been focusing on drawing for myself, as well as having massive brainrot for Sonic OCs and such. I won't be sharing my ACTUAL ocs at the moment, they're a bit personal and-- yeah.
However; I WILL share new blorbos :] -- Let's start with Sonic, Shadow, and Vespera. I haven't drawn more of my dadow or REALLY made a true design for Sonic, BUT Shadow has gotten a tweak. I yoinked an idea from Lancelot artists, and honestly- I'm obsessed with Shadow looking this way asjfgkajsg
cough cough- ignore the sauce asgjasgj
Vespera also now has a proper reference, so that's fun.
--
SOOOO--- She has two new younger siblings now as well, it was spontaneous BUT I love them.
She needs a little more work, but say hi to Maria. She's an albino hedgehog, and unfortunately I don't have more art of her-- YET.
Well, other than her and her twin brother as babies. :]
--
And speaking of twin brother; This is Orion. Personality wise, he's EXACTLY like younger Shadow, to a fault. He's egotistical, hot headed, self absorbed, and sarcastic. Very much a neutral-evil aligned dude. He's smelly, but we love him.
Had to include a close-up of the really nice one ashgajsg IM GONNA EAT HIMM-
-- This is all I have to share.. for now, I'll try to come back soon with more doodles, as well as share some stuff I've done for ArtFight. But I might leave that for tomorrow.
I know my style has changed since I last posted-- but I've been converting from SAI 2.0 to Clip Studio, and it's been a bit of a journey.
Needless to say-- I think SatCG is going to be put on hold for a while, I'm lacking the braincells to work on a comic 💀

your portraits are really amazing and i find your ability to capture likeness + control of value super inspiring…do you think you can talk about your thought process and beginning stages behind your drawings?
yes yippee!!!!!!! these asks helped me remember to actually photograph some process steps which i usually.... Dont do bc im using my phone for reference images lol (my work setup is in a "transitional phase" rn....... im working in the kitchen. its fine) i downloaded one of these lestat gifs made by @fearwakes ! then first thing i've been doing recently with portraits is lifting something that works from my comics process and applying it to these pencil drawings. i love having borders. i almost invariably will draw outside them but it gives me something to build on top of/inside/around rather than floating to the edges of the page. i used to be really envious of people who could spontaneously produce "sketch pages" from blank sheets but my spatial eye just does not generate those pleasing distances automatically. i need boxes lol GOOD THING I DO COMICS!!!!!
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/cdbc39701548fb9b3f87ff1b620ed56f/5c06e2eac89b7e83-01/s540x810/38ce5a7c580a27606fcd52937639dcd29d918e17.jpg)
i did not actually measure this box or even make sure it's straight bc i'm just turning my brain off and doing a portrait. ok step one of capturing a likeness is just eyeballing distances for facial features. like i mentioned before with spatial reasoning it's a weak point for me as an artist so i do not give myself a hard time if i cannot immediately correctly guess the distance between a subject's chin and hairline. i start with shorter distances -- chin to mouth, mouth to under-nose-shadow, then often fill in either cheek before i take a shot at laying the eyes in relation to the nose. i'm always thinking of my pencil portraits as a kind of heatmap for dark/light values, so i'm laying down the scaffolding that's going to allow me to emphasize where all those shapes ultimately bleed together as a 3D object.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/8509a366dfe4b2c20a88ce35a8fab7df/5c06e2eac89b7e83-c4/s540x810/0168d1f3251e4c3f79d865dcc63a209ddaf7678a.jpg)
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/c1cdf3f8faa1d5efe90127f7f62c2755/5c06e2eac89b7e83-97/s540x810/13a38162bc3f1c6ab34d5cd4bdc96230751b2a65.jpg)
there is always a stage (left drawing) where i'm kind of peripherally going oh my god. oh my god i lost it. i can't draw faces anymore. this looks like fucking garbage. oh my god. i need to kill myself. and i think it's partly just being a human person like the demons never completely shut up for anyone as far as i know LOL. but it's also sometimes coming from thinking i'm supposed to be simplifying the shapes. like if i took those guesstimates on lestat's proportions on the left and just went right to representing his features with solid black ink on top of these guidelines, it's true, he wouldn't really look like lestat even if the proportions are alright. it's important for me to remember that my sketches look very different depending on my medium and priority; if i was ONLY representing lestat in exaggerated shapes, lol, i might actually..... exaggerate those shapes. this is a sketch that is gonna work best as the preliminary stage for a fully rendered pencil drawing, not a line drawing. i just don't think drawing a subject precisely how he actually looks is gonna get you the best results for cartooning and striking that balance is a whole other thought. but for straight portraiture with an eye for value like this, it's perfectly fucking fine, cuz the thing that's gonna make him Look Like Lestat is actually how light connects over this 3D object.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/4bce0548eba1e05c8247dc1fd3585d5c/5c06e2eac89b7e83-91/s540x810/9bcac81bf25ea3b919a3fcc167b894ec1d1577df.jpg)
like ok i no longer want to kill myself. i have successfully guessed the distances between his features "well enough" and tricked the eye into seeing something Lestat Shaped because enough of those shadows connect in ways they 1) do in this particular reference image and 2) just Do on his face in general from my broader observations of this face. this particular portrait is building on all my previous understandings of how sam reid's face is put together. so i'm able to correct a lot of the assumptions i made before i drew him enough times to start figuring him out. like Ok, his forehead is always taller than i think it is and his nose is broader (esp his nostrils). the lack of buccal fat is essential but he can also start looking too gaunt if his jaw is not wide enough. his mouth is made up of so many complex and delicate shapes and is imo his most prominent feature lol i never quite feel like i've fully captured it and idk if i ever will bc the thing that makes it so lestat is the way it actually moves. and just from Character Knowledge i'm always inclined to emphasize how heavy lestat's under-eyes are, i feel like that's an essential emotional component of his expression. sooooo i am satisfied enough with this sketch lol. this took around 45 minutes which is longer than some of my portraits of similar detail-level bc i was distracted by on-and-off sexting. many such cases. more thoughts re: pencil on paper. the next bump up from this has gotta be going BACK IN with white oil paints which i just do not care enough about this drawing to do. but when i'm working with pencil i really know the only highlights im gonna be able to bring out are the ones with much darker areas surrounding them, and the bits i miraculously do not smudge by total accident (i'm a serial smudger. fat hand. someone's gotta be endeared to this). anyway i fucking love white oils. they are everything i previously wanted out of, like, white-out and white jelly roll pens lol. it can do so much and when you're working with paint you simply have so much of it. paint rocks. like in this portrait there are a bunch of blond flyaway hairs that i simply cannot capture at this distance by carving out "blank space" either bc i do not have the skill or space to make the strands not look wildly overblown. but if i wanted to go in with paint, i'd darken up the background and just delicately go over strands until they glowed. portraiture like this is a very meditative process to me lol. i'm just falling into an image i feel is representative of something abt a face i like looking at. simple as. i do not have a concrete strategy for where my pencil goes next most of the time when i'm just feeling out shadows and translating them into pencil pressure. i know i don't wanna do the VERY darkest areas first just bc that makes the portrait pretty inflexible if i lay something down wrong (happens often) or the aforementioned smudging problem.
anyway i should probably scan this lestat but like i said i'm working in my kitchen and im disabled and do not want to walk upstairs LOL. imagine this example portrait looks good and not bad. very good

My (spoiler-free) opinion on Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix
It was very good.
Seriously, I enjoyed it a lot! This “remix”, as the name suggests, is basically a big mashup of Ubisoft franchises, in a style that resembles Japanese animation (but by a French studio), and with a hint of arcade games. Some names, faces, or events may be familiar, but the story is set in 1992 in its own world with its own rules and people, so don’t expect anything or anyone to be exactly the same as what you’re used to.
For example, among the existing characters featured in Captain Laserhawk, we have Pagan Min, who still wears pink, has bleached hair and eyebrows, and is a villain, but isn’t a dictator, doesn’t seem to have the same backstory, and is more exuberant and carefree than he is in Far Cry 4 (he reminds me more of the young version of him we see in the Control DLC). Marcus Holloway, on the contrary, is older and more serious than his canonical Watch Dogs 2 self, but he’s still part of the series’ version of DedSec.
Visually speaking, it’s very rich, and the animation manages to be simultaneously “simple” (because of the low frame rate) and impressive. Sometimes, the show temporarily becomes a retro game, which I thought was really cool, not to mention a clever way to move the story forward. Not only are those “gameplay sequences” very well done and look like actual games, but various styles are also represented (platformers, shooters, even a dating simulator), so they really are a nice, original touch.
The soundtrack is reminiscent of the music we could hear in Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, and I don’t have much to say about it except that it was good and worked well!
As for the story, it was well-written and engaging; I watched the show in one sitting and never got bored. There’s at least one plot twist in each of the six episodes, and while the series is inspired by and references a lot of existing pieces of media, it still feels unique and manages not to fall into easy tropes and clichés. It’s funny, but it knows how to be sad. It’s colorful, but it can get really dark. It’s animated fiction, but it also tackles very real issues. Captain Laserhawk does it all, at it does it well. It’s made for an adult audience, so it contains violence, blood, drugs, vulgar language, nudity, and (implied) sex. That said, those mature elements, much like everything in the series, are well-dosed and don’t feel gratuitous, in my opinion. It’s appropriately inappropriate, I would say.
In general, I thought the actors were good and that the characters were compelling. My favorite is probably Bullfrog because he has some great scenes and I think he encompasses all aspects of the show: he’s here for comic relief but has solemn moments, he’s a cute cartoonish frog but also a skilled Assassin, etc. On a side note, as a French person, I really appreciate that his accent, although very strong, is real and not a caricatural imitation. Even when he lets out things like “ok, d’accord”, “et merde”, or even just “oui”, it sounds spontaneous and natural.
In conclusion, Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix is great. Both esthetically and narratively, it’s super creative, there’s always something happening, and you’re constantly surprised. This show is a lot but, strangely, it’s never too much. I think it’s obvious by now, but I recommend watching it (if you’re over 18... or just 16 in my country for some reason), even if you’ve never played a single Ubisoft game in your life and just want to see a good animated series. In the end, the thing I dislike most about it is that... there aren’t more episodes!
#I wasn’t sure what to expect but honestly I’m not disappointed#again don’t expect the characters you know to be in character because they won’t#the series really is its own thing in its own universe#and it was great not to have to worry about continuity for once#captain laserhawk#captain laserhawk a blood dragon remix#pagan min#marcus holloway#bullfrog#he’s great honestly#and it’s so refreshing that he’s played by an actual french person and not someone with a fake and forced accent#not really surprising since it’s a french studio but still

wrt oc questions how did nell+casey come about was it like a "i have GOT to make an oc" or were they born of their own volition or something else........ :)
nell came into the world 100% influenced by colleen doran posting a splash page from a shelved blue beetle comic that she worked on with keith giffen... there was no information about that cool looking ladybug sidekick (?) so i took the concept and ran with it a very long way. my status as blue beetle superfan guided most of my decisions but at a certain point nell just felt real and i was the mouthpiece speaking their words and actions into life
its kind of been a while since ive gotten that wildly into an oc so im glad for the inspiration ^_^
for casey you can ask koby for more details but off the top of my head she started life as a semi-self insert for the purposes of koby being mean to booster and then was developed further into a minor villain in a theoretical booster/carter family comic that dc is definitely going to approve any day now ANY DAYYY NOWWWW. and then casey outgrew her role as forgettable villain and is (as far as i care) the most important dc character ever made
i dont really remember how they got to the point they are now as a pair though. i feel like we left them unsupervised for like thirty seconds and they spontaneously combusted and the only thing we could recover from the blast zone was this new thing called "caseybug"

MEGA BG3 Dark Urge and Orin Spoilers below
its absolutely comical to me how much of a nobody Orin is. Dark Urge spontaneously gestated out of Bhaals soppy wet blood cum or whatever special. like they dont just have a divine spark like bhaalspawn do - they are a piece of bhaal made manifest on Toril. the fact that they then develop a mortal soul post brain scramble is very interesting, but truly, moreso than gortash or ketheric, Durge IS god's specialist boy.
Orin is barely a bhaalspawn. the only thing (probably) potentiating her Taint is that she's a product of incest - and bhaal only sends her Cruor as a butler once Durge gets tadpoled and temporarily torn from Daddy Dearest's grasp. she's SUCH A wannabe loser and could never even glimpse the power or divinity that Durge possesses.
This becomes so apparent when you finally face her as Durge - she's been playing games up to this point, but finally confronting Durge even in their diminished state has her SEETHING with jealousy, and nerves. she gave you an amateur lobotomy, and put bugs in you, and she STILL couldnt win Bhaal's approval. Second born son syndrome.
Whether you play instinct or redemption urge, the fact still stands that this is an ACTUAL shred of divinity. moreso than the Nightsong, more than any other chosen - you are an actualized cumrag from Bhaal Hisself. Orin is just a girl with some delusions of grandeur.

I am very frustrated I am not finding many blogs or videos or subreddit/forum posts about people discussing their results after doing 1000-1500 hours of studying with automatic language growth materials and plan. According to the David Long interview I saw, spontaneous small amounts of speech would occur at 800-1000 hours (like a toddler who says "want milk" or "give me" I would guess), and that once speech occurs spontaneously more often (around 1500-2000 hours) then the learner can simply keep speaking more and should eventually talk well. So I wanted to see the results for learners who were at the 'beginning' speaking stage, and at the more developed 'speaking a lot' stage.
If anyone has any links to learners who have posted their experiences speaking in the language they studied after ALG lessons/study, please let me know.
I've found a few people on reddit who did ~1000 hours and are spontaneously speaking a little, one learner who did ~1500 hours and speaks okay (which is the speaking level they should in theory be at based on the David Long interview I saw) but the learner did a lot of on-purpose speaking after 1200 hours (they did ~200 hours on purpose shadowing or talking with tutors and language exchange partners) and I'm not sure if that's something a learner will need to plan to do in order to see similar progress.
I'm very curious on the 'learning to speak' period of ALG. The initial period, comprehensible input lessons, is approached differently in ALG (no concious word lookup or flashcards or textbooks), but is similar enough to stuff like general comprehensible input study (Youtube channels, the nature method textbooks ONLY in the target language, TPRS lessons, graded readers, consuming content in the target language for native speakers once you have the ability to comprehend it) which I have done. And which I can confirm does result in quite decent passive skills of listening and reading: if you study enough hours with input you comprehend (whether its ALG lessons, comprehensible input lessons on youtube, graded readers, or eventually comics/shows/novels/audiobooks) you WILL learn enough common words and grammar to read books and watch shows and follow the main idea, and from there you will keep learning enough to eventually understand More.
And at that point it's just like increasing vocabulary in your native language: you started as a child only able to understand perhaps a cartoon but not a complicated political drama for adults, and then you watched more cartoons and movies and more complicated plots and talked with friends and learned new words from non-fiction your school made you read or lectured to you about, and at some point between age 9-20 you found that complicated political dramas became understandable but challenging to follow. And then again, you learned more words from the show - and maybe college, or getting involved in politics and learning the terms, and talking with friends - and the next political thriller drama you watch is way more understandable. (My point is: as a child in your native language, you eventually understand more by either reading/watching/listening/conversing more and picking up new words from regular stuff you do).
So I know getting input you can understand the main idea of (whatever input that is), does eventually result in increasing vocabulary you understand. Which makes reading and listening easier over time. It's why at this point, in chinese and french, I can just learn more words by reading or listening to stuff I'd want to read/listen to anyway.
My speaking skills did not increase very much though. It would be awesome if speaking skills may simply improve with practice like talking to people and shadowing, or I may need to eventually explore speaking exercises with a tutor who corrects mistakes and fills in gaps. I've seen people study with Refold method - which is similar in some ways to what I did, vocabulary study on purpose in the beginning with flashcards/apps/lists, then immersing in materials for native speakers and looking up unknown key words for a while, then immersing with less lookups. And the people who've done Refold tend to do some writing practice, correcting errors (and sometimes drilling correct sentence patterns with anki flashcards), and talk to tutors (who can push them to increase active vocabulary they may have not needed prior - and correct mistakes), to improve their speaking in a few months to a year. (I'd prefer to just shadow and chat with people... but if a tutor is in my future one day then it is what it is...)
So I'm curious how the learning-to-speak portion of the ALG process goes. What those learners do at that stage, how much of it they do, and at what points they hit milestones of 'can talk about X things, to Y things, to Z things" with comfort. Or milestones of a few hundred active vocabulary words, to a few thousand.

Hi! I saw your post about your comic, Acchan, and I decided to read it! It’s so good!!!
I think my favorite is #9, I felt it a lot as a neurodivergent person: Like the idea of not being “human” or something? How people think my traits make me “robotic” or something?? Like it reminded me of a ton of stuff in my own life and I felt really seen...
The entire comic is done so lovingly and so caringly, like it makes me really happy to read!!
Thanks so much for your awesome work! I love your artstyle and it’s super fun to see what type of art you’re doing!!!
Aaah this is such a sweet ask, thank you so much!
I'm so glad you picked up on that! This is definetely what I had in mind when I first made #9. Some people had trouble understanding it, so I think I could have been clearer with the message, but I'm happy it reached its intended audience anyway :)
Acchan is a very spontaneous, non linear project but it is also very sincere. I'm really glad you could coonect with it. I also have a comic with an autistic protagonist if you're interested, it's called Autistic? Me?
Thank you so much for keeping up with my work! I hope I'll see you around! :3

As you are a big and very knowledgeable Wanda fan, I hope you can answer this question. From where does she derive her power? In Multiverse of Madness (hardly a film I like to think of as canon for how it ignored its titular character and the trauma he must carry from his timeline search), her power seemed limitless. Plus, they made her the subject of a prophesy that said she was destined to rule or destroy the UNIVERSE. When TAO was training Stephen Strange, she told him that Sorcerers drew the power for their magic from multiple/alternate dimensions. Based on MoM, this apparently leaves them limited when compared to Wanda. The energy for the things she does has to be drawn from somewhere ... or is she so advanced that she creates her own?
This question has really been bothering me for a while. Frankly, mostly on Stephen's behalf (you know how much I love him). Thanks for any light you can shed on this topic!
My understanding is that Wanda was born with chaos magic, but her powers were locked away until she came in contact with the Mind Stone, and then the Darkhold just provided her with enough knowledge to make her pretty much invincible.
As the Scarlet Witch, she's capable of spontaneous creation, so she just creates her own. I don't think she's drawing power from some other place like the sorcerers do, she just has that power inside of her so she would be drawing it from within.
Her connection with Chton is only through the Darkhold although I think in the comics he's the one who gave her that chaos magic she was born with (I don't think that's the same in the MCU though).
Regarding the sorcerers, I know The Ancient One told Stephen they draw their magic from other dimensions, but Mordo also claims the sling ring allows them to travel the multiverse - that was retconned, I believe, so I don't know if the MCU has been clear on the power range. Especially when our Stephen also used the Darkhold, granted not as much as Wanda did but it sure amplified his powers as well. So where does he stand? Not sure. Chton was a demon but Stephen commanded the souls of the damned, so... 🤷♀️
MoM was super careless with Wanda's powers. They gave her these absolutely crazy godlike powers and she was capable of pretty much anything, but they only did that because they looked good on screen, they didn't care too much whether it made narrative sense.

so I like the art yo u made of um your monster say and arc AU or what not, and actually I saw them before and came back t olook again!! well, sorry that's probably not the right way to refer to them... uh anyway, um if you're willing to tell, do they have lore? or just silly versions ? either is good and any response of course is extra nice!!! annd.. this is my first time asking something to anyone. Anyways ur art is awesome thanks for reading!! <3
Oh man, thank you so, so much for the super-nice ask!!!! First of all, this absolutely made my day, and second of all, as for loooore...
(Long post, so it's going under a read-more!)
So, those Say and Arc designs, alongside a design for the Queen of Teeth (character from early Ghost songs/lore) that never saw the light of day, were for an AU that I've put on hold called Elegy for a Traveler. The basic premise of Elegy was that it was this giant crossover-but-not-really with vocal synths (primarily Vocaloid, SynthV, and UTAU, with a handful of fanloids and Cevio mascots), and characters from vocal synth songs (primarily Ghost, Masa's series, and Evillious Chronicles), all mixed together in this world where humans, gods, spirits and other strange creatures live! The few bits of it that were written were told in a sort of 'nested story' style-- part of Arc's story was being told by Say as a little tangent in their explanation to the main character as to why they're sitting in a tree in the middle of nowhere, while all of these stories are, themselves, being told to a gang of rowdy kids as a bedtime story. It's like nesting dolls, but for storytelling!
With that squared away, I can get to actually answering the question you asked: Say and Arc's lore! They were a Sikuvok (an original creature species created specifically for Elegy; I completely rehauled the species and made it its own thing after putting Elegy on hold, so I'd probably redesign Elegy!Say & Arc slightly if I were to pick the AU back up), living in the woods with their family and generally accepting the controlling behavior and strict nature of their parents & the other adults in their little group. That is... until Arc came along.
Arc was born in winter of the same year as Say, and was particularly strange and loud and spontaneous, especially for a Sikuvok. They often dreamed up new ideas that made no sense, provoked the adults into fights despite their youth and inexperience, and worst of all (or, at least, worst if you're a very traditional-minded cat-weasel creature that lives in the woods), they picked their own name. Say was intrigued by them, and spent a great deal of time with them, to the point where they thought of and treated each other as siblings. Say's parents, however, were deeply upset by this and, one night, after being lectured by their father and reasserting their position as Arc's brother, they gave themself what essentially amounts to a battlefield amputation except for top surgery and fled with Arc out into the rest of the world. There, they built their own little life, wandering from place to place in search of interesting secrets.
As for silly versions, I don't particularly have any official ones, but I did discuss the concept of a shampooed and blow-dried Elegy!Say and Arc with some friends once-- they would be extremely comically fluffy and lack any intimidation factor whatsoever, so, I don't know, but that seems pretty silly to me!
Thank you so, so much again for the ask-- I really appreciate it!

Spider-Man: New Dawn Chapter Two
Chapter Synopsis: Things take a sudden turn for Peter, one night when he meets an unexpected foe.
Word Count: 5k
Expected Reading Duration: 25 min
Chapter Two: The Melting Man
—————
On some days—very rare days— Peter could still feel his dark side slowly rearing its ugly head more. He always knew when to hold his strength back because he knew how powerful it was. But ever since the multiversal incident, with the Green Goblin, Peter had begun drifting away from continuing to impede his super strength and it showed at times. There was always a villain or two that would just never stay down and Peter did not mean it but sometimes, he would let his anger get the best of him. Some of the villains would end up in the hospital, a few near the brink of death and when the fight was over and Peter was back in his apartment, looking through the news to see if anyone would even report what happened, Peter would regret even going on a patrol that day. He was getting worse with his responsibility.
Those were the types of days when Peter thought about quitting. Not just being Spider-Man but sometimes, and he hated to think it, even life. It hurt the young hero to think like that but it was life, right? Peter always told himself that he was not the only one going through this. The depression, not his heroic duties. So, he always tried to calm himself down the best he could. He would swing to the Brooklyn Bridge to just relax, maybe read one of the few comic books he had, or he would even work on a Lego set he would spontaneously buy that was reasonable with his budget. He just had to do something to keep himself at bay. It was hard, though. He did not have anyone to talk to about this. He did not have May to just bring him into her heartwarming hugs, to bring him into thinking that he was a child, again. He was alone in such a cold and dark world.
May had been in his mind for a while. He had not visited her and Ben in a while. Maybe he could take some time after his shift tomorrow to see her, buy her a few flowers, and just talk to his dead relatives…
Fuck, when did life become so hard?
—
Night had loomed over New York a while ago, leaving the skies dark but the city still awake.
The only sounds in Peter’s bedroom were the news he had playing from his cracked phone leaning against a few books he had stacked on his desk and his screwdriver tightening the spider symbol at the center of Peter’s suit. Peter had cut his patrol rather short, today because he had been working on another project for his suit that he was pretty confident in. After the spell, he had learned to go on without an AI system hooked into his suit but that still did not take away how Peter missed KAREN’s voice.
She was only nothing but a bit of coding but Peter missed having someone help him on his patrols but without his identity being remembered in Stark technology, KAREN was gone. So, he decided to take matters into his own hands. It had taken Peter a bit of researching, going around for certain parts that he could put in his suit, and a whole month of work but now, he was finally finished, or his AI was at least functional.
“A bit here and there…” Peter muttered as he fiddled with the inside of his suit, the mask resting beside him, on his desk. Then, Peter stopped and moved his hands away from the suit, making sure everything looked good. He ran his fingers, gently, along the textured symbol in the middle of the fabric before grabbing his mask. He put it on, adjusting his hair, which was slightly sticking out from the bottom because of how fast and carelessly he put it on.
He was excited to see what he had made and he hoped that it was as good as KAREN. He was expecting the AI to greet him once he put on his mask but when he heard nothing, his brows slightly furrowed in confusion, worry, and a growing annoyance with himself.
“...hello?” He said, slowly. It was quiet a moment longer and Peter slowly felt defeat set in him. He felt like he could not do much on his own and sure, he had a good chunk of knowledge stashed away in his brain but Peter did not feel like a smart man, at all. At this point, he was just thinking about giving up tonight, his enthusiasm long gone with defeat replacing it. He let out a sigh, his foot tapping against the wooden floorboard beneath him as he was about to take off his mask but suddenly, a voice came up to him. “Hello,” A monotone voice came up, a woman’s voice. It held no emotion and it even sounded a bit glitchy but given that this was Peter’s first time making an AI model from scratch, he was proud of it.
“I am AVA, or your Advanced Virtual Assistance,” At least she could name herself. “Uh… hey,” Peter said, shifting in his seat. She was responding but Peter needed to figure out a way to make sure AVA worked and that she could function, given Peter had coded her to make her able to access the internet to look up things like traffic routes, weather, maps, and other useful tools Peter could use on his patrols. So, he started with an easy question.
“AVA, who’s Spider-Man?” He asked, immediately expecting a response but like before, he heard nothing, making his brows slightly furrow. Peter crossed his arms and waited for about half a minute before she responded. “I am sorry. I could not figure out your question.”
She did not even know who made her. Peter tried to think back to what he had done wrong, beforehand but he was feeling a bit puzzled by the two problems he noticed with AVA, so far. She lagged with her answers. It should have taken her a few seconds but it took her half a minute. And not to mention she could not give Peter an easy answer she could find on Google.
The lens of his mask squinted as Peter’s eyes narrowed in thought but then, while thinking of what else he could do to improve AVA, something from his phone screen caught his attention.
The news segment was focusing on Richard Blake. Oh, brother, Peter could not help but think when he saw the guy pop up on his screen. Richard was a rising councilman for New York and a lot of people liked him and Peter would, too… if it were not for his campaign that started earlier this year.
No More Supers. Richard hated superheroes like how Winnie the Pooh loved honey. He expressed his ideas through his different rallies and he was not afraid to hide it, either. But he was making a campaign on it, now?
Peter scoffed and rolled his eyes behind his mask before he looked back down at his suit, bringing it closer to him on the desk to continue working on AVA. He heard the news reporter talk a little more but then, his head snapped back up when he heard yet another interesting topic from his face.
He turned his head and put his focus back on the small screen, which was in the middle of showing a picture of what looked like a shadow-like figure running in the middle of the street.
“Citizens had reportedly spotted, as some of stated, a ‘monster’ roaming the streets of lower Brooklyn,” The news anchor said before the picture of the shadow zoomed in to show a blurry but up-close look at the mysterious figure.
When Peter saw the picture, he could not even tell what he was looking at. The video was of low quality and by zooming in to get a closer look at it, it just made the quality even worse than before.
A new voice then cut in, a man with a heavy New York accent. “I was just walking out of my job at the plant, right? And then I hear something in the garbage. I’m thinkin’ it might be one of those, uh… what’d ya call them? Dumpster divers? Yeah, I thought it was one of them but when I went to confront them, I saw a man,”
Peter’s brows furrowed as he heard the testament. The picture of the ‘monster’ then cut to show the man, who had a Giants baseball team cap on his head with his bushy mustache moving like a caterpillar on his face. “He had no shirt on but it… it almost looked like his skin was peeling off but I couldn't get a better look because of how dark it was back there. I never even got a look at his face because he tackled me before I could do much and he just… ran off,” The voice then cut off to go back to the news anchor, showing her serious face as she reported the news.
“Police authorities have advised citizens to stay indoors. Do not try to engage with this person, for they could be dangerous. If you see this man, call the police. Do not intervene… Now, for our next story…”
After that, Peter disregarded whatever else she was saying. It looked like he had something to do tonight, other than work on AVA.
A few minutes later Peter was already in the city, swinging around while listening to the police radio he had synced into his suit. The last known appearance of the man was in the Cadman Plaza, so that’s where Peter was heading.
His eyes stayed around him but specifically toward the ground level as he swung from building to building and rooftop to rooftop. He had to keep a close eye on his surroundings. Who knows what this thing could do?
Sure, it could have been an ordinary person who may need actual help but knowing New York, Peter knew that would likely not be the case.
He swung a while longer, thinking he was out of his luck by not seeing this man but then, Peter felt that familiar tingle run through his body. The hairs on his arm stood up and his mask’s lenses widened for a moment before squinting. Then, that’s when he heard it.
At a distance, a man was at an electronics store, at the glass door with a broom clutched in his hand and a fearful look on his face.
“Get back! Get away, you freak!” The man hissed out. Not too far away, was the creature that was reported on the news. But the man had the right to be scared of whoever or whatever this thing was.
The thing was tall, probably around 6’9”, and with a grayish skin tone similar to that of someone who was very sick. But it did not look human, whatsoever.
Its eyes were completely gone, nothing but dark holes taking place for the socket. Its nose also looked too small and lumpy as if it were molded like clay but its jaw was the worse. It was practically hanging by a bit of skin, its mouth, freakishly long tongue, and teeth shown to the man trying to protect his shop. It was lanky and skinny with a few diagonal spikes protruding from its back.
The thing got closer to the man, letting out a loud screech that made the man drop the broom out of fear, his hands —or his whole body— shaking like a leaf in a storm. The clatter seemed to echo the empty street as the thing raised its elongated arm, ready to strike the man.
He went to try to pick back up his broomstick but a blow to his side sent him to his glass door, the thing shattering as the man fell inside the building, clearly injured.
The thing straightened back out, an audible crack coming from its neck as a growl came from the back of its throat. But before it could even take another step toward the injured man, a string of webs suddenly stuck to its back, and at the speed of light, it was pulled back and knocked into a nearby brick wall.
Soon came the hero to the rescue. Peter jumped from a nearby building, and while he was still in the air, Peter pulled the web toward him, also hurling the creature toward him.
Peter was ready to send a punch when it reached him but instead, things took an opposite turn. The creature had recovered quickly, so when it went toward Peter, the hero was struck down and landed on a fire hydrant, making him let out a grunt as he fell to the ground, on his face.
Well, it had a lot of strength. Peter could tell just by that one hit. Peter soon rolled on his back, feeling a burn-like sensation run through his body, the point specifically on his back where the tip of the hydrant had hit him. His black lenses were squinted as his body was tense in pain but then again, his spidey senses kicked back on. His eyes widened and he quickly rolled away before the creature could put a probable fatal blow to his face.
Peter jumped back up, landed on his feet, and squinted at the creature. “God, you’re ugly,” He said, a grimace behind his mask as he took on his examination of the creature. What the man on the news had said was true. The thing's skin looked like it was peeling off... almost like the thing was melting. At Peter's comment, the thing's browline furrowed at him and it let out another grunt as if it wanted to say something. But instead, another screech came from it, causing Peter to wince before the creature hurled itself straight for Peter.
Peter stepped to the side to avoid the creature. Still, with how fast everything went, Peter’s arm had accidentally caught itself on one of the creature's veiny but pointy spikes on its back, causing the fabric of Peter’s suit to rip and a hint of blood to come from the scratch given to Peter. But the hero did not care for it. He only made a little wince from the pain but he got himself back together before he shot a web toward a nearby garbage can. He spun around and swung the object at the creature, which was too slow for the attack. With Peter’s strength, the creature was sent down the street, making a pained noise once it hit the ground. Peter watched as it got up but this time with a limp. It snarled and then screeched at Peter before it, as quickly as it could, fled to the alleyway beside it, hiding in the shadows.
Peter took in a breath before he went after it, but he slowed down when he noticed a trail of some sort of black liquid on the concrete ground, most likely its blood. “What the hell are you?” Peter whispered, looking back toward the alleyway. Rather rather than go full force into the dark alleyway, he took his time.
He took cautious footsteps, looking as the trail of black blood trailed off onto the brick wall, a hand shape inking the surface before it swept further into the darkness. Peter squinted his eyes into the alleyway, unable to see anything. He knew AVA probably would not be able to help him, either.
So, he stopped at the beginning of where the shadows started. His eyes looked around but his ears listened. He could hear the faint sound of shuffling nearby — a can falling, hurried footsteps. So, Peter was not surprised when a claw lurched for him. Peter took a step back but quickly grabbed the arm of the creature. With immense strength that did not need much effort from Peter, he slammed the creature against the left wall beside them, and yet another pained screech came from the thing. Peter held the thing up against the wall, trying to keep it in his hold. But then, the thing suddenly chomped at Peter, snarling its teeth as it tried to bite his face. His eyes widened and he leaned away, going to put a hand at the top part of its mouth to keep it open but it was tough, given how strong the creature was.
But while Peter held the thing back, he happened to notice something on the side of it: a blinking red light, a camera. Peter’s brows furrowed behind his mask when he saw that but before he could examine it more, the monster sent his clawed hand to Peter’s side, making the hero let out a yell as his body bent. Then, he was sent flying to the dumpster beside the fight and further into the alleyway, making it rattle as Peter slid down the wall.
Peter’s breath shuddered as he bit his lip, catching a bit of the fabric of his mask as he looked down and saw the blue color of the side of his suit begin to have a crimson-red color pool in the area. “Fuck,” Peter hissed out and then, he looked back at the creature, who was recovering from Peter holding its jaw in place for so long. Its jaw was out of place, which disgusted Peter and made him think he hurt it. But soon, the creature snapped its jaw back into place with a grotesque snap and before Peter knew it, it had thrown itself toward Peter, intending to hurt him even more.
But as the creature approached Peter at such a lightning-fast speed, everything around Peter seemed to slow down. He looked around, his senses enhancing as he tried to quickly devise a plan to get this monster put down. He then noticed a rusty lead pipe lying on the ground not too far from him.
Peter did not like to kill. He still thought of May when he knew he was getting too brutal against whoever his foe was, but this was not human. It seemed to act just on its blood lust, so taking this thing down did not make Peter hesitate much,
So, Peter shot a web toward the lead pipe. When it got in his hand, Peter gritted his teeth together before he held the pipe back. Just when the creature was going to get to him, Peter swung.
Black blood splattered on Peter’s suit, making his eyes widen as he looked at the scene before him, the sound of the pipe clattering on the ground was heard in the alleyway as blood spluttered from the creature. Its head was pushed back, nearly decapitated from its body as the bone of the neck was revealed to Peter. The creature twitched but did not make a noise as it took a slow and weak step toward Peter, making the young man quickly get up. He was ready to fight again but soon, the creature fell, a pool of its own blood forming from the split section of its head and neck. The body continued to twitch as Peter supported himself with the dumpster he was slammed into earlier, wincing as he held onto his bloody side.
He was breathing heavily, trying to gather himself before moving further. But then, after a while, he approached the creature. His mind was still on the camera if there was even one on the monster. Peter had grimaced down at the bloody body. He stayed like that for a while, just staring down at it before he sighed.
He was grateful that no one had seen that. He had never been that violent before, actually killing something like this. He was sure that someone would make the situation worse for Spider-Man if someone saw it. When Peter was about to kneel to investigate the body, he heard a sizzle-like noise. His brows furrowed in confusion and he moved his head around a bit to try and figure out where the noise came from but then, he looked down at the body and his eyes widened in shock when he saw the body beginning to melt.
“Shit,” Peter said and he then got down next to the body, trying to see what he could salvage but specifically, he was looking for the camera. Still, he did not know if he could touch it, so his thoughts wasted time, and soon, the body that was once there was nothing more than a black puddle with bubbles popping up and smoke arising from it. Peter’s shoulders slouched as he backed away from it but then, from a distance, Peter had heard sirens approaching where he was. The man that the creature attacked had probably called them.
He looked back down at the body but then to the distance where blue and red lights were fast approaching. Peter could not risk it. So, he lifted his hand and shot a web at a building nearby, making sure not to be seen as he swung away.
As soon as Peter left, two police cars pulled up at the shop. A few minutes later, yellow caution tape and more police cars blocked the street. Two officers were questioning the man who was sitting in an ambulance truck with someone tending to the wounds that he had gotten when being slammed into the glass door. But in the alleyway, many more officers swarmed that area. Many looked down at the puddle of goo, trying to figure out what it was.
From a safe distance, Peter was squatted on a building, looking at the entire scene. He was listening in on everything from the questions asked toward the victim to the officers examining the goo. But the only thing Peter was focused on, besides making sure the man was okay, was that Spider-Man was overlooked tonight. And the longer he listened, the more his hopes went higher. So, feeling relieved, a thwap was heard from Peter shooting a web from his web shooters before he swung away from the scene.
Nonetheless, the question still stood in Peter’s mind: what the hell was he fighting?
—
At the current headquarters for Oscorp, it was chaos, inside. Because the company was getting ready to move to a new building very soon, some of the equipment used by the employees were boxed away but that did not mean that the energy in the building was ever asleep. Someone was walking around in every department, people talking and even more people walking. In the genetic research department, the genius doctor, Miles, was walking alongside Neil Myers, the COO of Oscorp. The man looked different compared to Miles but very similar to Norman. He had on a slick suit, one that was clean and very expensive with a golden, glimmering watch on his wrist to match. But on the man’s face, he looked cold and calculating. His ocean blue eyes looked ahead of the pair as they walked, Miles’ shoes squeaking along the tile while Neil’s clicked, that alone showing how different they were just by the way they walked.
But the tension between the two was heavy. “I can’t believe what you did,” The British man, Neil said, sternly and with a hiss directed toward Miles. “We are just starting to become recognized worldwide, Dr. Warren. You could have cost us everything with your idiotic mess,”
“But it is for a good cause,” Miles soon interjected, beginning to defend himself. “This is a good way to get the project started, Mr. Myers. I even have camera footage from the hybrid. It lasted so long-” “I don’t care,” Neil cut Miles off without hesitation, his voice clear but slightly angrier than before. “Your little experiment hurt a citizen. It was on the news, Doctor. And this is also why we told you to wait until we permitted you to continue with this,” They both turned a corner, now leaving the familiar department of Miles and instead, they were now in the lobby of the building, continuing their walk. “But we are wasting time with that. My team has already gathered so much information just from that one creature. Imagine if we were given the resources the company promised my department and my team. It could put us on the map, even more. Even around the whole world,”
Even with the passion Miles gave as he spoke, Neil did not talk back to him. He stayed quiet as they walked and sooner or later, they finally approached another hallway, walking until they got to a door with Neil’s name on the plaque. He opened the door and went in, Miles following behind him.
“Close the door,” Neil instructed the man and Miles did so. He closed the door behind him as Neil approached his brown, oak-wood desk. He sat down in his black chair which creaked beneath him, letting out a sigh as he ran his hand along his face and then through his brown hair. Miles walked to the two chairs in front of Neil’s desk and sat down, his figure slightly brighter because of the sunlight peeking in from the full-wall windows behind Neil to show the city.
“Mr. Osborn was not pleased when he found out what you did, Dr. Warren,” Neil said and Miles could not help but scoff. “You’re acting like I let the thing loose on purpose. It escaped on its own,”
“But it still escaped and was still a very major liability to Oscorp. We are lucky that no one could trace whatever they found at the scene back to us… But we do not like taking risks here, Doctor,” Neil folded his hands on his desk as he narrowed his attention on Miles. Of course, Miles kept trying to defend himself as he kept on saying that he did not think that the hybrid would be able to escape its confinement and that it would be harmful.
After a few more moments of nonstop words, Neil grimaced and shook his head, and then gestured for Miles to stop. “Stop. Just stop,” he told Miles. After a while, Miles stopped talking. When he did, Neil sighed and leaned back in his seat with his face in his hand.
“...Doctor Warren… just stop,” He repeated while shaking his head, again. “There is no point in defending yourself now. There is nothing that you can do-” Neil was talking but Miles soon interrupted him. “How dare you say something like that to me. I bust my ass off for this company and you tell me that there’s no point in defending this… this thing that I’ve put years of my life into?” Miles spoke back, his words very out of character for him, given he was usually awkward but never this unprofessional. But Neil was not phased by this, whatsoever.
“Yes, that this exactly what I am telling you, Dr. Warren. What you are doing is dangerous. We promised to the people that we would help them but what you and your team have caused…” Neil then let out a scoff before he continued talking. “It seems to me like you just enjoy the possible power of playing God… I’m not even sure if Project: Genesis can continue, after this,”
The room was quiet after Neil said that. Miles did not say a word. All he did was stare at his superior with a blank face. “...what?” Miles soon said, his voice as mono and emotionless as his face. “You must understand where we are coming from, Dr. Warren… we strive for perfection, here at Oscorp. We cannot afford any chances to corrupt the name… so, the board of directors is deciding to shut down your little project,” With the way Neil said that, Miles became even more mad on the inside. It sounded like he was just demeaning his work as if what he was doing was mere child’s play. But he did not say anything, still. He remained quiet with nothing to say to the COO.
But the man before him had more news to tell the Doctor. “And as a man who wants to make sure that his company does not fall with all of its hard work… we, as a company, need to get rid of the bad apples before they spoil the bunch,” Miles’ attention was caught when Neil said that.
“So, you’re firing me?” Miles asked but Neil quickly spoke up. “We are just temporarily laying you off until all of this blows over,” Neil explained but when he started talking, Miles had blocked him off. He was not even paying attention to what Neil was saying. All Miles could see was a pair of lips moving but he could not hear a single word coming out of the man’s mouth.
Miles was explaining how Miles could not access the building or even his own lab. He was also not allowed to speak to his employees and if he violated any of the rules he had stated, then he would be arrested and possibly fired.
But just as Neil was in the middle of talking, Miles had suddenly risen from his seat, no words escaping him but his brows were slightly furrowed, his jaw clenched, and his face a bit red from the anger he was withholding. Neil’s brows furrowed in confusion and his words trailed off as Miles simply walked away from his chair and opened the door. “Dr. Warren? Dr. Warren?!” Neil had tried to get Miles’ attention but it was no use.
Miles stormed out of the room, the door not even closing before he walked out. “Miles!” Neil then tried to use the doctor’s first name but even that did not work. While Miles stormed down the hall, digging in his pocket for his car keys, his thoughts swarmed.
He put years into this company. He was here since the beginning, working alongside Norman to even get this company up on its feet and now, he was getting laid off and the project he had been focusing on for years was coming to an end all because of something that was an accident. How could Norman just abandon him like that?
With raging yet mournful thoughts, Miles left the building without even getting his stuff. This would not be an obstacle for me, Miles thought. It could not be. He had worked too damn hard for this and he was not about to let any of his work go down the drain because of a damn accident.

ohh the anxiety that kicked in when I realized most comic artists have a full team and do monthly or even weekly chapter releases (again, due to having a full team inking, toning, letting, etc their sketches) and it STILL takes them years to finish a series (even ones that are relatively short! if you're doing a chapter a month and ur series is only 100 chs long thats STILL going to take EIGHT YEARS???!)
I have to remind myself they're professionals with teams who are getting paid to do that for a living, and I am one hobbyist, also working so some weeks I feel good abt even getting the One Page a Week goal I set for myself as a new years resolution out because things irl burn me out so bad. like, in the worst parts of my depression there were times where I went without drawing for MONTHS at a time and i do NOT want to go back to that. ever.
the ultimate goal for tm2 is for it to be around ~50-60 chapters (I consider each chapter to be like an 'episode' and always wanted it to feel around the length of the og anime series, so) and I keep thinking 'ooh if I could do a chapter a month and thats the goal Id have it done within 4-5 years!! which is awesome in theory but also burnout + anxiety abt this kind of thing is the reason I stopped the first two times. I burnt myself out SO bad trying to do 5+ pages every update back then. and I'm holding myself to keep going (if only because uh...I've already paid for the website URL for 5+ years LOL (IT WAS ON SALE IF U GOT MORE YEARS IN MY DEFENSE) ) so i NEED to avoid burnout @_@ but Thee Anxiety has a grip on me lately like i am a stress ball. its Bad
(this directly ties into my irrational anxiety abt 'what if I die Tomorrow and all of my stuff remains Unfinished and no one ever gets to Know the Stories in my brain or what if they paid me for a commission and I die suddenly and they think i never replied/stole my money and is a deadbeat, omg I need to do things as fast as possible' which i REALLY should look into going back to therapy for because I feel like this time of year is when my anxiety skyrockets for Some Reason and its ALWAYS BAD. Fs in chat. at least this has actually made me learn to be incredibly fast at drawing/rendering?? JSDHKF ONE UPSIDE TO ANXIETY!!! local guy HATES to spend time on anything for fear of spontaneous combustion!!!)
yet I dont want to spend money on therapy when im still saving for a car bc I need to Prioritize. which is also taking forever and also making me anxious. AAAH!!! can cars be $1 and art be Faster yet still quality? would b very cool
#anxiety tw#<- uh JUST IN CASE#i do not think i would consider this a VENT post necessarily but the end bit is potentially triggering. for other ppl with anxiety i think#its been at an All Time High lately thats why i am up at 3 AM rn. cant SLEEP (I will be waking up at 6 am bc grandma needs groceries too :(#i feel like im being hunted for SPORT im litrally just chilling in bed lol. why#the crazy thing is ive been FINE otherwise lately too ive been having a GREAT week !!#plenty of chill time and time outdoors!! SO WHY....BRAIN#sanchoyorambles

I ranked all of Invader Zim's episodes + movie (because why not?)
So recently I decided -- very spontaneously -- to binge all of Invader Zim. The show, that is, not the comics (although I do need to do that at some point). I hadn't seen Enter the Florpus since it released in 2019, and I hadn't watched the show in a longer time than that, and since I'm a stressed out little gremlin I just kinda went "Hey, why not?"
And it was a good time! I see more flaws with the show than I did as a kid/teen, but I still enjoyed it. I think this was the only show I saw as a kid in its entirety cause in every episode there was SOMETHING I remembered, and it was also a lot of fun to see Florpus right after seeing the show since it meant I could directly compare them.
Partway through this binge project I decided, "I wanna do a ranking of these episodes, that seems fun." I was originally going to do it on a tierlist, but then once I made this blog I decided it would be more fun for me to just dump it here instead in a list format and with some short thoughts of mine on each episode.
From worst to best:
Rise of Zitboy (Ep.9B)
The concept for this one wasn't really great to begin with, and the execution wasn't much greater. It's basically just an extended gross-out joke, and it wasn't a funny one imo.
Career Day (Ep.6A)
A great concept for an episode I feel wasn't executed the greatest. I laughed a couple times, but it was too gross-out focused for my liking.
Gaz: Taster of Pork (Ep.26)
Felt like a regular episode forcefully extended into a double-length special.
Voting of the Doomed (Ep.25B)
Like Career Day, this had a great concept but eh execution. I think this is considered the worst episode by fans? I don't agree with that entirely, but it is weak.
Door to Door (Ep.14A)
I remembered this episode being one of my favorites as a kid, and it's still alright, but not as good as I remembered.
The Sad, Sad Tale of Chickenfoot (Ep.16B)
I remembered this episode being not great as a kid, but it was better than I expected.
A Room With a Moose (Ep.7A)
Dib should've let those kids face the moose tbh.
Future Dib (Ep.13B)
Good concept, decent execution. If it was given another rewrite it could've been great.
Walk of Doom (Ep.2B)
AKA the favorite episode of everyone making Gir line compilations on YouTube in the early 2010s.
Lice (Episode 17B)
Dib seemed weirdly out of character in this one and Zim probably should've gotten more play, but it was still enjoyable.
Abducted (Ep.16A)
I'll never forget you, weird blob creature.
Mysterious Mysteries (Ep.13A)
I find the implication that Zim actually accepted an invite to appear on a human TV show funnier than I should.
Hamstergeddon (Ep.7B)
The only reason Zim failed is because he tried this plan on a hamster. If he tried it on a DOG then he would've won, easily. Dogs listen to you, hamsters only seek to cause mayhem.
Battle Dib (Ep.6B)
Considering how little his dad was around at this point, it's amazing Dib knew as much about him as he did.
The Wettening (Ep.5B)
One of Zim's most effective plans, and it was just to get back at Dib for splashing him with a puddle. Incredible.
Bestest Friend (Ep.3A)
Keef scares me.
Parent Teacher Night (Ep.2A)
Has probably the single funniest Zim shriek in the whole show.
Bolognius Maximus (Ep.11A)
I've seen some weird stuff in cartoons, but I'm not sure anything can top "Turning my enemy into sentient bolognea to defeat them."
Battle of the Planets of Doom (Ep.15)
Pretty good episode, and it reminded me that the "Face on Mars" is a real thing.
The Girl Who Cried Gnome (Ep.24A)
Moofy's screaming can get to be a bit much, but otherwise this was a stupid episode in a fun way.
Mortos Der Soulstealer (Ep.23A)
Shoutouts to Dib who was so focused on stopping Zim he didn't even consider trying to show off Mortos to prove demons are real. Kid has a helluva one-track mind and I relate.
Vindicated! (Ep.25A)
More like Mr. Dicky. Got'em.
Invasion of the Idiot Dog Brain (Ep.8A)
All things considered, it's incredible that Zim had the patience to stand Gir piloting the house for a full year.
Bloaty’s Pizza Hog (Ep.10B)
It's a good thing Zim never targeted Bloaty's at all. Gaz would've ended the whole show in 10 minutes if he did.
Gir Goes Crazy and Stuff (Ep.19A)
I keep thinking this episode is called "Gir's Gone Crazy and Stuff" which lead to two of my friends misreading it as "Girls Gone Crazy." Oops.
Germs (Ep.4A)
Zim being a clean-freak is the funniest character trait he's ever been given. I will not be taking in outside input.
FBI Warning (Ep.14B)
This episode made me afraid of renting things as a kid.
Backseat Drivers from Beyond the Stars (Ep.22)
The scene between Zim and Dib when Zim realizes Dib is in Tak's ship is the funniest interaction in the whole show, both performance and animation-wise.
Dibship Rising (Ep.24B)
Dib faced less consequences for a robot him wreaking havoc than he did when he threw a cup of punch on the ground
Dib’s Wonderful Life of Doom (Ep.19B)
And the award for the Most Hilariously Petty Act goes to.....Zim!
Hobo 13 (Ep.20A)
I can't believe Skoodge was voiced by Ted Raimi.
The Frycook What Came From All That Space (Ep.27)
It's unfortunate that the show was cancelled, but this wasn't a terrible episode to end things on all things considered. Almost made things feel like they came full circle...almost.
Game Slave 2 (Ep.11B)
At the time, this probably came off as Gaz being unnecessarily cruel. Nowadays, Iggins would fit right alongside the other Gamers™ so I can say with certainty that he deserved it.
Dark Harvest (Ep.4B)
...Ok yeah, I'll give this one to the parents of the 2000s. I have no idea how this episode got greenlit.
Walk For Your Lives (Ep.20B)
This is Zim at his absolute stupidest. It's a riot.
Plague of Babies (Ep.10A)
Ayo what the fuck
Nanozim (Ep.3B)
na-no
Megadoomer (Ep.17A)
This is the most cooperative Gir has been short of being hypnotized. Wow.
Halloween Spectacular of Spooky Doom (Ep.12)
Honestly, Zim and Dib need to put aside their differences for like a month and get some damn therapy.
Zim Eats Waffles (Ep.23B)
This episode is stupid. So, so stupid. It's also incredibly funny and is the first episode that comes to my mind when I think of Invader Zim.
Attack of the Saucer Morons (Ep.5A)
I like this one a lot. Why?...I dunno I just do, it's funny. Leave me alone.
The Nightmare Begins (Ep.1)
The crew really hit the ground running with this show, huh?
Bad, Bad Rubber Piggy (Ep.8B)
Real talk, this was a great balance of humor and genuinely telling an interesting Zim story.
Planet Jackers (Ep.9A)
I love that Zim's final plan was just to let himself get the shit beaten out of him to distract the drivers from his ship. Zim may be dumb, but he's smart dumb.
The Most Horrible X-Mas Ever (Ep.21)
Can we get Jhonen to write more Christmas specials?
Tak: The Hideous New Girl (Ep.18)
Easily the best episode of the original show imo. It's just really well-written, even if it does take a little longer than you'd expect to get to the real meat of the episode. Also, I probably quote "Your head smells like a puppy!" the most out of any Invader Zim line. No I will not elaborate.
Enter the Florpus
Everything that made the original show great but in HD and with some genuine heart to it. I do prefer the original designs from the show itself (sharp angles for LIFE) but the coloring here is just so pretty I hardly mind. If this is the last animated Zim thing we ever get, it's a great note to end things on.
