Yikes to people who try to say SBC’s script was better and that SBC was right in wanting to include all the “amazing stories” (sic!) of Freddie in the 70-80s. some people legit believe that brian’s trying to cash in on his dead friend by “portraying themselves in a better light” and making freddie “terrible and boring”. So what is it now? Apparently brian and roger rejecting that horrible script is a bad decision because “freddie would have wanted to tell those crazy experiences” referring to the cocaine, the sex, the decadent excess of rock n roll blablabla. I told them about the disgusting sex dungeon bit, Freddie basically flashing Brian and roger in a bathroom in their first meeting written as a joke, etc. And they really went “yeah that’s not worse than Borhap, in fact it’s better” ?!?!! And then they went to say how SBC was such a victim for trying to “champion Freddie as the rock star he was” but ended up getting bullied off the project by the evil Queen who wants to whitewash their story and hog the spotlight uwu. Brian and roger literally cant win. I thought it would be a nobrainer that we have been thankfully spared from that horrible version that couldve been made into an actual film, but no, some people WANTED it to be made. It’s either “they’re demonizing gay people” (which is a valid point on its own and the movie did do that), or “they’re making him boring and want to portray themselves in a better light!”.. JEEZ JUST PICK ONE

First of all, I wouldn't even put "boring" on my list of criticisms with borhap Freddie, but even if it were true, making someone boring is better than perpetuating the trope of the predatory gay man by making him whip out his dick in a bathroom with straight guys. I also don't think it's entirely true that Freddie would want everyone to know about his crazy experiences since he was a private person lol. If these people are saying the flashing and sex dungeon is no worse than borhap, and actually better, it sounds like they just have no brain cell capable of critical thinking. I mean, come on. It's self-evident why the SBC script was so much worse. My straight, 57 year-old mother immediately clocked the predatory gay man trope when I told her about the bathroom scene. Plus, those scenes weren't even all accurate. I'd bet good money that Freddie did not, in fact, whip his dick out in front of Brian and Roger or write "Bohemian Rhapsody" with a hard-on! Wilder stories =/= better script or more accurate story.

It's utterly ridiculous to say Brian and Roger hogged the spotlight with borhap when they're barely in the movie lmfao, and the SBC script had more Brian! The whole structure of the script is going back and forth between flashbacks and modern Brian telling the story and the script literally ends with him; if he really wanted it all to be about him, he would've gone with that script. If people are going to accuse Brian and Roger of something, it should at least make an iota of sense.

Next, SBC didn't want to portray who Freddie really was; he wanted to make him a caricature like Borat or Bruno. Freddie wasn't a cartoon character. He was a complex human being who was more than fucking partying, and who was very different in private than he was on stage, and it sounds like the dummies you were talking to can't differentiate the real Freddie from his performance persona. SBC deserved to be called an ass by Brian.

Tbh people like this are exactly why Brian and Roger probably rejected the script; for the past 30 years, they've heard that Freddie was nothing but a wild party animal, despite denying that he was promiscuous or an addict, and they knew the SBC script was the version of Freddie everyone wanted to gawk and laugh at. People don't want to see Freddie presented as a human being, but as a sideshow freak they can laugh at. I'm not saying borhap did a great job with Freddie, but it humanized him more than this garbage.

You turned your head to face the handsome man, resting your head on your hand as you looked up, “Just finishing up the paperwork from the patients that got released. A lot of kids went home today,” you smiled giddily, the shine in your eyes captivating Jackson completely.

Any attention that he might have had elsewhere completely shifted towards you in that moment. It was impossible for it not to when you talked with your whole heart like you often seemed to. Honestly, captivated wasn’t a strong enough word.

“My heart transplant kid, Tommy, had a full recovery. He was at a high risk for rejection, but he left without showing any signs. He was already bouncing off the walls with energy,” you continued, missing the way Jackson’s eyes glazed over, and how they crinkled at the sides. His grin was so wide it ran the risk of sliding off of his face completely.

You sighed dreamily, returning your gaze to the computer monitor, “This is why I do this— why we do this. For kids like Tommy who would’ve died without a transplant. And now he gets to live the rest of his life out like any other guy— like any other kid.”

Jackson couldn’t tear his eyes away from you, whether you be facing him head on, or him only being able to get glances at your profile. He wanted this, he wanted you. To be able to talk to you about your day, to memorize the way your eyes shined when you talked about your work.

He could picture himself coming home with you after a long shift, you tucked under his arm— huddled in his side for warmth. He wanted a dog, and a white picket fence. Hell, he wanted a baby. And he wanted all of it with you.

“I love you,” he blurted out, pink finding its way onto his cheeks, his eyes wide with disbelief. That’s not at all how he wanted to tell you. Honestly, he wasn’t sure if he ever wanted to tell you— or if he wanted to keep the fantasy seated in the back of his mind, where only he could unlock it.

“I-“ you paused, concentration no longer even slightly possible, “you what?”

“I love you. I-I didn’t mean to blurt it out like that, but I do. I really, really do.”

“This isn’t a funny joke, Jackson. Not funny at all,” you sighed, shaking your head. There was no way in hell Jackson Avery was in love with you. No matter what Alex told you, or Meredith. Or hell, even Jackson him self.

It felt like some cruel joke the universe decided to play on you. On top of everything else.

“Why would I be joking?” Jackson questioned, now fully facing you by this point. His eyes were still wide, but for a completely different reason. Why didn’t you believe him?

“I love you and I have for awhile. I thought it was pretty obvious.”

“Obvious my ass,” you muttered quietly— though apparently not quietly enough that he wouldn’t hear you.

Jackson couldn’t help but to splutter out a laugh. You were ridiculous in the most incredible way possible. At this point his heart was beating out of his chest— and his grin was so wide he worried that his face might just crack in half.

“I’m serious. All I do is flirt with you— why the hell else would I always be on the Peds floor?”

“I don’t know, maybe because you wanna help out some kids?” You responded sarcastically, rolling your eyes.

The blush on your cheeks gave you away though— and it took Jackson everything inside of him not to kiss you right then and there.

“No, I like the woman helping the kids. I like you. And I’d really really like it if you went out with me this weekend. Not to Joe’s— somewhere nice where I can buy you dinner.”

You paused for a second, weighing your options. Jackson was a great guy— way too great for this all to be some grand ellaborate joke. Though that idea was bouncing around in your head quite a bit.

Jelle’s Marble League Power Ranking 6

So last week was probably my worst power ranking. Hopefully things go up from here. This time its 5m hurdles - a sport I’m glad we were forced not to do at school.

1. Midnight Wisps - They won the event last year and hold the marble league record. Putting them at the top is a nobrainer and a win would really pick up morale.

2. Raspberry Racers - After a big loss at the end of last week they need another medal to get back into contention for the title which they want to keep.

3. Hazers -  These guys have been sitting in the middle in each event but they got to step up if they want any shot at a win.

4. Minty Maniacs - Without evidence of any success at hurdles it may seem hard to judge how well they’ll do but they are determined to keep their 1st place position.

5. Crazy Cat’s Eyes - This team have been consistent! They are the only team to score in the double digits in every event! They got unlucky with what heat they were in but their time in the heats was good enough to medal so if they get a better heat they could even take the whole thing. 

6. O’rangers - In the event last year they aced the qualifying round and the semifinals but choked in the final so while I don’t expect a win I expect them to get near the top.

7. Green Ducks - These guys are making the semifinals like last year.

8. Savage Speeders - These guys got unlucky last year being in a difficult heat but this team are speedy so I’ll put them in the top half of the standings.

9.  Mellow Yellow - After earning a medal last week they need to start picking up the big points to get them off the bottom and the best way of doing that is stopping placing near the bottom.

10. Balls of Chaos - They placed near the middle last year and the presence of hurdles tends to throw the more energetic teams off kilter.

11.  Oceanics - These guys did show up finally in the last event but they need to give me more so I place them higher.

12. Team Galactic - While this may not be their event they’ve gotten used to the hosting thing and are thriving as a team so I don’t expect a complete flop.

13. Bumblebees - These guys were sitting pretty in the middle but flopped last week. I don’t know if they can pick themselves up.

14. Team Momo - Since their last place finish in  they haven’t been able to get themselves back to the top half of the standings.

15. Thunderbolts - This is not an event they’re good at placing one from last in 2019.

16. Hornets - They’ve ended up on the bottom of the standing so I’m going to stay that morale is lost and this rookie team isn’t going to do well

Idk i feel that Brig is more balanced now. Shield bash damage nerfed from 50 to 5, can't bash through enemy barriers anymore, shield health lowered, armor from ult disappears after 30 secs, and armor is nerfed overall. She's really good up close but bad against ranged and burst damage. I do agree her repair pack is op and needs changing. Instead of giving 150 health, maybe she could give 75 armor + damage reduction with a longer cooldown. Ana needs nerfs more than Brig imo

you have a point. i still think that shield bash is still too powerful of a skill when canceling ults while keeping your shield up and not getting frontal damage. it wasnt really the damage but also how powerful stuns are in this game and its so easy to do that as brig rather than mccree. even sombra cant hack that easily

and yeah this is coming from a Brig main. tbh i dont think Ana needs nerfs because again, aim still matters and she’s a high skill high reward hero. Ana is perfectly fine 

but yeah im glad we see eye to eye about repair pack. its stupidly op. i really wonder what got into the Devs and Jeff’s dumbass head that made them think Brig wasnt gonna be so broken with this nobrainer op hero design in an fps. and i dont take this against Brig but the devs for not thinking this through. instant soft aim heal+armour, healing passive, stun easily.. her kit screams OP

4/16/17 EASTER Coast

today was the first day i had no reffing and no work. i felt really weird lol.  i wanted to use the time to relax at home and clean my environment cause it’s a mess and unorganized haha, which i’m not blaming myself for, but i’d like to change it, please lol. BUT my two young cousins colby and chase came to visit my grandfather so i went to see them/support my mom, somehow the presence of one of her children helps her a lot in family situations. so i played with colby and chase all day and they took ALL THE EASTER BUNNYS EGGS lol guess i don’t deserve the chocolate once i turn 24 lol. but actually my mom made us all baskets even nathan and carissa who arent here LOL sad, but cute. we’ve been doing kind of cute movie nights on the weekend with my parents, personally i don’t like movies/tv every night, but i know it’s a good way to connect to my dad so if you can’t beat them join them lol. i’ve been asking more trying to watch more of the classics. it’s really fun to watch older classic movies, we watched old disney movies this weekend “that darn cat”, they’re great. the talent and jokes in the 60s is solid and so classy compared to today’s crap hahah i can understand the bitterness of oldtimers lol. i also really annoyed/graced my mom with questions about jesus today LOL. i don’t know what my fascination is with this, and i don’t know if my mom is the best person to talk to because even though she’s very open minded, but honestly i don’t want to change her mind about the movement. so i don’t know why i keep bringing these things up to her but i guess i know she won’t cut off ties with me for talking to her about it LOL.  i went through my requestioning life phase right, and i’m way less dramatic about it now, but i still am super interested in the topic of purpose and  religion and the psychology that leads someone into believing what they do, and commiting the acts that they do. i also don’t really know how to feel about certain topics or areas in life, they’re still grey to me. so i’m gonna read the bible page to page just because i speculate so much about things i don’t really know i’ve just heard of lol. i think it started when aiws asked if i could point out some flaws in the dp, because i was saying how i found contradictions in every aspect of the movement, the moon family is a nobrainer with issues but also including its theology. and that’s why it was hard for me to support like her or geebs when they do dp nights or workshops or whatever because i feel like they’re feeding themselves/ kids a narrow perspective and a contradictory one lol. plus these kids/me/everyone havent even read the dang bible which is what ALL major religions is based or inspired off of. lol. i feel like each religion should read all the other religions main scriptures lol. and realize how DUMB everyone is LOL. anyway here were some parts of the dp i felt contradicted 1) introduction states how christians love the cross but they still have sin and they’re not really saved. and that the dp/moon will actually bring like no sin or whatnot, but he didn’t either we’re the same as christians or worse dependingon who LOL. 2) i love this part i’ve talked to my mom about it like 600 times hahahaha so the fall is based on sex and that’s jewish and in the torah so that’s cool, the terminology and explanation can make sense in that. but then like noah’s story, LOL he builds an ark for 200 years or whatever, everyone dies except his family though he triedd and saved all the animals, then they get there, and he’s drunk and falls asleep. and then ham is like ah geez dads drunk and naked. and then they cover him with a blanket slightly grossed out. and then the world is back to square ONE LOOOOL through a blanket. but the same terminology of cover, naked, shame, etc is used here. so obviously someone had sex, because otherwise the point to the world is stupid lol.  3) zacheriah is the father of jesus ...and john ..what. lol. WHY WHY WHY, especially if a blanket of shame can revert the world back to hell, LOL, would it make ANY sense, for a direct “son of God” aka jesus, who hundreds of people walked around claiming to be at that time because that was the jewish prohpecy and everyone was convinced it was themselves lolo. to be made through adultry, especially when joseph was the one that was connected to king david and the “lineage”. zacheriah was married to mary’s relative. hardcore adultry - thats the 7th commandment right there man lol. anyway really there’s no point in finding the holes of the nitty gritty details of these really random stories that may or may not have happened lol unless there’s a solid lesson to take from it all. the main point is the core of all these  religions lol. the universal belief of trying to be an OK human lol. i’m glad religion has organized communities but man, i don’t get why we had to separate ourselves like this lol. anyway sorry that was my day LOL. now i need to focus on surviving the next 3 days, tax season ends officially on tuesday, i’ve done almost everything ican. now i just have to focus on finishing the rest of my duties so i can leave the job in peace. lol. i regret taking on so many games for reffing but it’s alright that’ll be over in 4 weeks as well. lol. then it’s party city. lol sike.
