WOW this has been ROUGH in the Life Events category of things, but. slowly crawling out of that. hopefully

this was the opening scene for a something I started writing after watching the Manben inverview with Nishi Keiko and thinking back to all the classic shoujo manga I stayed up reading back in the day, like damn that's so true Urasawa Naoki

it's partially a love letter to all the greats of the genre that I read, and also to the late night teleseryses that captivated me over the years lmao. it'd be nice to find the time to tackle it properly as a comic, but I'm having fun working on it recreationally :)

the first character seen is lawrence 'law' valenciano (late 30s), the one with the glasses is cris volante (mid-later 20s). law works at a karinderya, cris is an extremely broke university student.

Oh Tim 100% is the peaked in high-school guy like dude was having a ball he was super popular constantly had girls falling over themselves for him and he was Robin- the fact that Tim is so reluctant to let robin go is literally the biggest tell of all that this boy is trying desperately to hang on to how things used to be

when i was a child and first moved to america everyone treated me like dogshit for being weird and not knowing anything and my autistic ass thought it just meant that everyone in america was rude as a cultural thing so i was really mean to everyone thinking that I was being normal which led to more people being mean to me and i dont think i realized that wasnt normal until i was in like highschool

One time years ago my mum was walking home, glanced at a window as she passed, and saw our cat there.

In the window

Curled up and looking outside

At my mum.

And she was like... what??? That's my cat??

And went and knocked on the door

And had to be like "hi. Uh. That's my cat???"

And apparently the neighbours had been feeding our cat and eventually let her inside when she wanted inside

And the REALLY weird part of this was like.. it's not like she looked like a stray. She was a black cat with a bright pink collar that had our contact information on it. They knowingly fed another person's cat and brought them inside???

(Also while I can laugh at this story, I do not support letting cats freeroam outside.)

As for having a (voiced or listener) high school aged character, I'm gonna have to say no. I mean, there's some unvoiced characters that are younger, but that's about it. I might make something in a more university setting someday, though! I can put a bit of explanation/clarification below, but just know this isn't directed specifically at you/I'm not bothered by you asking!

I have a few reasons, but mainly I'm just not comfortable making boyfriend audios in that setting, you know? Even if it were a more platonic storyline.

Like. I'm 25, and while people under 18 listening to my YouTube audios doesn't particularly bother me, they definitely aren't my target audience. Obviously someone doesn't need to currently be in high school to enjoy that setting, but I feel like a lot of the people seeking it out would be in that age range. And making/voicing romantic storylines aimed specifically at them feels... unpleasant. For lack of a better word.

anyways umm have some doodles of the characters from one of the stories in my head 🫶👽 (there is a chihuahua too but i forgot to draw him whoops)

basic storyline is that there's been an unsolved disappearance of one of the owners of a local taqueria, and while the (sherlock wannabe) hired detective tries to solve the case, two regulars of the restaurant (the Weird Kid obsessed with aliens, and the girl whose parents make her study 24/7) and the nephew of the missing owner (who really needs a raise) get way too involved in the mystery as they try to take matters into their own hands.

hbahfbgxn they are like scooby doo but stupider 💜 + they go over their master plans and suspect lists over restaurant booths and tortilla chips

i think the funniest ocs ive ever had were it was like a next gen crossover au where all webseries (of the 2000s-2010s for reference) exist in the same world but its like the kids of the characters and the main character (and couple) were an eddsworld fankid and a dick figures fankid
