It's hilarious that the meta I want to write about RDR2 is talking about the themes and symbolism and subtleties and all that. Which is good stuff.
Meanwhile the fics I want to write are varying stripes of crack. Some treated seriously and some not. Almost always with at least SOME magic bullshit because I am myself and Rockstar went and made supernatural elements canon.

'Barry' Season 4 Finds Its Funny Thanks to an SNLer and a Legendary Director
This submit comprises spoilers for this week’s episode of Barry, “You’re Charming.” Among the extra frequent objections I’ve heard about Barry since Season One is that the present has grown so darkish that it not looks like a comedy more often than not. It’s an comprehensible concern. Heck, I expressed it myself throughout Season Two (although I really feel the newer years have been higher…

Film Friday: 5 Movies of the Week!
Tumblr media
WhatsOn Editor Rufaiath has chosen the top films of this week for you. Watching movies is the ideal way to pass the time, especially with the weekend just around the corner. Why not watch a movie because the holidays call for some relaxation? Without further hemming and hawing, let's look at the films on the list. 1. Avatar: "The Way of Water" Set greater than a decade after the activities of the first movie, "Avatar: The Way of Water" starts off evolved to inform the tale of the Sully family, the problem that follows them, the lengths they visit maintain every different safe, the battles they combat to live alive, and the tragedies. Just as with the first Avatar, Cameron has quite a great deal positioned visible results and filmmaking bravado first and relegated tale and individual to a decreased priority. But whilst the first movie basically lifted the “white savior rescues Indigenous tribe” template from Dances with Wolves, the Disney model of Pocahontas, and any range of comparable tales, what plot there's in The Way of Water is skinny and very watery, with repeats of important beats from the primary film and no discernible individual improvement to talk of for any of the important players. https://youtu.be/d9MyW72ELq0 2. Pinocchio Cinematically, visually, and emotionally this film will take you on a journey. As Pinocchio encounters his many hard decisions, it additionally forces you to forestall and replicate in your personal as well. A truly splendid show of existence in all of its ache and beauty. Life honestly is precious...so do not take A MOMENT for granted...in an immediate it is gone! an absolute MUST watch! https://youtu.be/Od2NW1sfRdA 3. Roma This artwork movie in reality captivates the simplicity and complexity of developing in a middle-magnificence own circle of relatives in Mexico. Every element with inside the film is spot-on and really culturally relevant, as a result supporting assemble a completely practical tale that represents Mexico very well. I felt like I become transported again to my childhood! It’s real that the tale narrated it’s pretty diffused however in case you in reality pay interest you’ll trap many messages in the back of every beautiful shot. This movie manages to push limitations with inside the global of cinema & it reminds filmmakers approximately the artwork of tale telling. Although it highlights social troubles which can be nevertheless now no longer being addressed in Mexico, it additionally touches on how effective own circle of relatives’ bonds can be. In the end, this masterpiece will without a doubt create a communication approximately social troubles which can be ignored. https://youtu.be/A983-l0m8Ak 4. Drishyam 2 Directed via way of means of Abhishek Pathak, the movie is using the plot of its prequel which generated plenty of buzzes. There are enough references that one continues listening to in the course of withinside the sequel, which reminds them of ways right the primary movie was. Vijay Salgaonkar lives in Goa together with his spouse Nandini and daughters Anju and Annu. Drishyam ends with the case being closed and it being installed that Sam is dead. The sequel introduces us to a brand-new IG in town, Tarun Ahlawat, who reopens this report and desires to discover Sam's frame at the side of all different loose ends that could assist him positioned Vijay in the back of bars. Does Drishyam 2 resolve this puzzle? Will Vijay throw himself beneath neath the bus to shop for his family? Will his wife and daughters follow Vijay's thoughts and idiot the law enforcement officials again? https://youtu.be/cxA2y9Tgl7o 5. Kacher Manush We commonly get to observe repetitive mystery movies in identical layout. However this movie is absolutely specific from all different mystery movie. The movie teaches us to present price to our personal life. The movie is extraordinarily properly made movie the presentation is absolutely specific from all mystery style movies. It has darkish comedy however now no longer double that means like Bollywood is doing. Celebrate this movie due to the fact this movie will train you a way to have fun life. The movie offers you thoroughly climax and the movement scenes also are an excessive amount of practical. This movie isn't always like ordinary south Indian movie like Pushpa and RRR. So that it will display your illogical movement scenes. https://youtu.be/7-6byVfxI7c Read the full article

I have never had a ship put me in tears more than Diluc x Dainself isnducgbdn if it was a movie it would be black and white, and ever scene in it is them staring out the window to the rainy gray sky jsnhxnsk its so edgy it’s comedy
Diluc x Dainsleif Film Noir AU
I knew he was trouble from the moment he walked into my office on that dark and stormy evening. Usually I’d welcome a distraction, because rain puts me in a bad mood. Well, more accurately, I’m always in a bad mood, but the rain brings ghosts from that fateful night of my 18th birthday when my life was shattered into pieces. But the sight of this one turned my bad mood into foul - he was a blond, and a platinum one too, which is the most dangerous type. He was dressed in black clothes so tight like they were painted on him. That outfit looked expensive even without an extravagant cape, and trust me, I know a thing or two about how the aristocrats dress. He had legs for days and when he sat in the chair from across my desk without asking, he stretched them out like he owned the place. He looked at me with the pale, piercing blue eyes, the same color as the aquamarines that I sold with the rest of family jewels, and said
“Hello.”
I knew he was trouble from the moment I walked into his office. It was dark and stuffy, but even the dim flickering light of the lamp could not diminish brilliance of his scarlet hair. The flashes of lightning through the half-closed Venetian blinds sharply outlined his figure. He wore a dark coat, well-made, but clearly worn out, but even if he was trying to look unassuming, he failed as hard as Celestia’s nail on my homeland. The way his shirt was styled, the way he carried himself, the haughty look on his sculptured face – it’s all screamed nobility and trust me, I know a thing or two about aristocratic bloodlines.
He didn’t answer my greeting, instead he poured himself a glass of some liquor from the open unlabeled bottle, it looked too dark to be wine and too strange to be conventional whiskey, probably some homemade alcoholic concoction of the sort that can kick Snezhnayan horse off its feet, and said curtly
“What’s your business?”
I took a sip of my grape juice, watching him closely. He didn’t answer right away, instead, he took out the cigarette case from his pocket. It looked antiquated, a genuine rare deal, and it had four-pointed runic star engraved on it. He picked a cigarette and searched for lighter. I leaned across the table and brought a small flame on the tips of my fingers to him. He raised an elegant eyebrow, but bent down to light his cigarette, looking up at me from under half-lowered lids with long thick lashes and his eerie intense eyes. Under the orange light of the cheap lamp and my own flickering fire, pale gold of his hair got sharp highlights, like the darkish wild yellow halo that sometimes appears on the edge of the full moon.
"I need something investigated and I heard you're the best private eye in town."
"Flattery. How pedestrian. If you've heard I'm the best detective, then you should've heard I'm the hardest to work with and I don't tolerate low play."
He said it with such self-possessed disdain. Looking at him, I felt nostalgic about time the many centuries ago when I was just as principled and confident that I would never dirty myself. I straightened up and took a long drag of my cigarette, looking him over. A pyro vision. Suiting for such a hot ticket. Last few hundred years cigarette butts were the only ass I was getting, and unfortunately, it was not about to change.
"Yes, I've heard that you left the police because of their corruption. But that's why I wanted you, I need to investigate a cop. I think he might be shady."
I took another sip of my grape juice. After the last corrupted commissioner was busted, Jean was performing the duty and he trusted her to keep clean. But she was so overworked and stretched herself so thin that I could believe she might have missed something under her nose. I didn't want to tangle into knight's business again, but I couldn't turn the blind eye either. Not to mention this enigmatic stranger who suddenly appears in town - and if he was there for long I'd already know - and the first thing he wants is to root out Mondstadt dirty cops? Fat chance this is a double play.
"What cop?"
I pulled a photo of the target out of my pocket. The long lost sister of my former companion suddenly shows up in this city and first thing she does is team up with some sleazy cop? Something is clearly going here, but I needed someone who knows this turf to help to get to the bottom of this.
I put photo on the table in front of him. He frowned and looked up at me sharply, scarlet eyes narrowing.
"Oh, this cop is definitely shady, I can tell you this right now free of charge."
"You know him?"
"Yeah. He's my brother."

I'm going to use this part of what you said in a previous answer that made me really curious "the way of the authors to tell the story is another matter" to know your top 5 (or ~10) of that :)
Ah :D I guess the easier way to put it would be “This time I chose my favourite styles basing on art style mostly, but if I were to choose my fav storytelling/mix of art and how authors tells it/what they want to transmit, the odrer/the list would be different” :”) So some authors/stories on the list of my fav storytelling (not sure if it's the right term for what i mean but let's use this) are the same I put in the previous list. The titles and authors won’t be surprise for you, but I’ll list them anyway. Warning: I love talking about such things a lot, so I suddenly wrote a lot.
(Ask me my top 5-10 anything)
1. Literally anything by Takaya Natsuki. You have no idea how #tired I am of all the discussions about both adaptations of her Furuba (which is better which is worse no listen to me bc I Have an Opinion of High Authority) when not a single adaptation quite got her style in storytelling, foreshadowing and especially presenting her characters’ personal drama. I think I espcially love her for not throwing it all in your face right away, being careful at hinting at things (so that you don’t quite get some parts of the characters’ thoughts and inner struggles until you learn the facts and it hits you) and for leaving you some space to use your own brain what you think about this or that storyline. (Tamura Yumi does it too which makes her my second fave author). Also, years after reading and rereading her works I see better how storylines are entwinted and unfolding, and it still makes me yell “HOW does she do it” every time I go back to Furuba and her other works and see something new. I love her Hoshi wa Utau (which hits hard and is painfully real in the matter of parents/children’s conflicts), and Liselotte to majo no mori (darkish fairytale with hopeful messages) and wish more people knew about them too, not only Furuba.
Tumblr media
2. Kouno Fumiyo’s Yunagi no Machi Sakura no Kuni. I first read this manga a long time ago and was dying of happiness when it got published in my country bc oh my gosh. It’s a historical thing, it’s a heavy thing, she does have such unique style (my first thought was ”ah looks cute, like children books illustrations” and then it killed me) and approach to place panels on pages or transitions between scenes or past and present (I think some comic researcher or smth even called it innovative). The page that struck me the most was a spread near the end of this story, presenting a character in his older years sitting on the beach of a river in Hiroshima and him in the same place right after the war. Perhaps it doesn’t sound so original but this work and these two pages live rent free in my soul to this day.
Tumblr media
3. Ando Yuki’s oneshots (and Machida-kun). She is my favourite short stories author, she just knows how to tell it so that I got tuned in from the start. Be it a school slice of life or basically Edith Piaf’s song Hymne à l'amour presented in the form of manga oneshot, they give me immense joy. And oh, there’s almost always a twist near the ending I can’t predict. Her characters act a bit weird and take weird decisions sometimes but I think it’s what makes them feel so real to me.
Tumblr media
And it’s cheating, but while I’m talking about oneshots, I want to mention Midorikawa Yuki and her shorter-than-Natsume stories. Because they give me a similar feeling to Ando’s oneshots - the atmosphere is different, but the way they touch my heart is the same. Don’t get me wrong, I love Natsume and its structure (main characters and their personal jouney through unrelated stories of other people/not humans), but I love Midorikawa’s shorter stories much more.
4. Takamatsu Misaki’s Skip to Loafer. One of the best slice stories I’ve ever read. Right amount of drama and comedy, a cast of characters with different problems and motivations. I can’t help but think “Oh I wish I were able to create a story like this one day”. Also, someone wrote about it: “let me live the wholesome high school life i didnt have” and ugh I felt it :”))
Tumblr media
5. Yazawa Ai’s stories: Nana and Gokinjo Monogatari. Did “Nee, Nana” moments kill my soul every time it was used in the story? Yes, absolutely. Did it make me cry? Don’t even ask.
Tumblr media
6. Nishi Keiko’s stories: Otoko no Isshou, Koi to Gunkan. A person I know described her stories like this: “If life goes the wrong way, it’s better to go home”, and I think it sums it up. Both of the stories I listed are about ordinary life in small towns, they both me melancholic and somehow cozy feeling. Both stories have themes and characters that don’t really interest me much, but when I read them, I usually cry. It’s another A+ slice of life author imo.
Tumblr media
7. Tsukuba Sakura’s Mekakushi no Kuni. It’s dear to me for special reasons. There a girl who sometimes sees future when touches other people, there is a boy who sees the past all the time he does the same, there’s another boy... And NO evil organizations chasing them for their superpowers, NO global plots or problems or author’s will to condemn society, no deep philosophy questions about time and so on. Just normal slice of life of not so normal peoplewho try to cope with this particularity they have and fit the world they live in. (I wish authors realized the potential of such slice of life centered urban fantasy but they keep failing me aiming at the Global, sigh)
Tumblr media
8. Torino Nanko’s Toripan. It’s basically authors essays on her daily life and mostly birdwatching, but ugh it’s so good. Peak comedy about birds and heartfelt pages for when she speaks about her memories or remarks on nature, it’s so full of love towards this world and life. After I read Toripan I feel like I become kinder and better :DD
Tumblr media
(author’s A+ faces and haiku about sparrows in the winter)
9. Watanuki Yoshiko’s Manatsu no Delta. I read it some time ago and my first thought was “Wow, this IS how you touch an unpleasant yet existing problem”. I’ll certainly be waiting for this author’s other works.
Tumblr media
10. Ikuemi Ryo’s stories, especially the ones featuring metaphorical ghosts (Kiyoku Yawaku, Torch Song Ecology) and Taiyou ga Mite Iru. Joseis with ghosts are my fave thing on earth, and Ikuemi’s great at it. But she can make any theme totally worth digging into, be it school life or cheating and complicated family relationships. I think TGM is her work that left the deepest trace in my soul because I was reading it when it was ongoing, for three years, and it’s basically just something that makes you die slowly looking at how not so bad people fk up their life decisions bc of their unresolved traumas and issues but you can’t take your eyes of it and then need several years of therapy after reading such manga. And she doesn’t even preech or say you should not live like this. She’s like “this is a life story I want to tell, take whatever you want from it” and I’m like “gooosh this is so painful and looks so real and makes me feel things, I love it”. Ikuemi Power as it is. (Life teaches me nothing, I lowkey want to read something like TGM again and Akaneda Yuki’s Saraba Yoki Hi fulfills this wish of mine, but uh I’m so glad it’s rarely updated)

Thanks you guysss!
Location?
The first wedding was in a courthouse with the rest of the council + Adrian (Georgia was still alive). The second one was after the AoA in a fancy garden/private park area (they didn't feel comfortable doing it in a church, nor would any church take them bc homophobia) with everyone they knew (and knew their super-side).
Cake or Food?
1st- a few food platters and a cake (there wasn't many grocery stores or bakerys so they did what they could)
2nd- BOTH! it was a banger party (also with everyone they knew + that knew their super-side). There was one big elegant ass cake that they didn't finish and a small comedy cake that was for a renegades birthday (evander smh).
Clothing?
Hugh- Wore a darkish ash gray tux and same color tie and shoes with a blue shirt and blue gloves(he just cant let cap rest can he?) The flower on his chest (idk what its called) is purple (for simon). His hair is gel-ed back and he is wearing lip gloss(fight me).
Simon- Wore a white suit and shoes with purple shirt and gloves (damn these guys) and a blue flower(for hugh). His hair is in a fancy bun and he is wearing a purple and white flower crown, also lip gloss.
Rings?
Kinda like this(but different):
Tumblr media
Thir first rings were just plain chromium ones (bc no money) but when they would afford it I think it would be a silver band, but Hugh has a blue with purple flecs in it and Simon had purple with blue flecks in it. (They were so excited to go ring shopping together...wait... fic idea?)
Flowers?
They're in a gardeny-area so there are flowers everywhere.
Anything else?
I believe they got married in a courthouse or something real quick during the Age of Anarchy (just quick vows - not too romantic- bc timeing) but had a more fancy wedding like a year or 2 after, as they deserve (nice romantic, brought tears to eyes vows. though it was sad Georgia couldn't be there). They didn't have an official honeymoon the first time (their lives were quite hectic so they rented a room in a hotel or sum shot for a day or 2) but left for a solid month after their second wedding (they were excited for the actual alone time)
Might edit this bc now im t h I n k I n g h a r d

Temptations - Review
Well, no series appreciation can truly be complete without me talking about one of my favorite series on this site. Temptations by @donutloverxo
Pairing: (darkish) Ransom x Reader
Tumblr media
(pic not mine, as used by @donutloverxo )
If anyone knows Berry, they know how much she loves to hate Ransom (and hates loving him just as much). And another thing so unique to her is an innocent, cute reader.
Berry really said fuck-all when she wrote this story.
I wish I could call this story a dark romance, but what fits it best is a tragic comedy. Because it is tragic. It is tragic because there is our reader who basically goes into heat the moment she lays eyes on Ransom (not blaming her tbh). She is dating this other dude, some bimbo names brandon Bryce who can’t fuck the girl like she wants to. Our reader needs to be done dirty, and this SOB hadn’t given her a single orgasm until then.
Well then, what’s a girl to do?
On this Christmas getaway, she turns to the resident asshole who exudes big dick energy like Bollywood does nepotism #badpun #sorry. Ransom and she are like an explosion. They have some of the dirtiest sex, and Ransom’s dirty talk game is so amazing you’ll be salivating. They fuck and they likey, but then oops! Feelings get involved.
Ransom is possessive of the reader, as far as he’s concerned, she is his. And they’ve been having a great fuckbuddy relationship for a few months but then the reader announces she’s gonna marry Bryce. Understandably, Ransom is fucking pissed and they part ways.
Or do they?
Long story short, until now Ransom was only a horny dick, but now he’s a dark fucking horny dick. He won’t stand for the reader leaving him (I mean come on, why would she even?) and it is then you learn how messed up Ransom is. I won’t give away much of the story here but damn you’ll be pacing your room to let off the nervous energy towards the end.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. This series is so quintessentially Ransom. It has his arrogance, his pride, his bruised ego and hidden beneath all that rough exterior, a somewhat tender heart. If you haven’t already read this series, well, what the hell are you waiting for? Murder Daddy has never looked sexier, go get railed by him.
(for those wondering why its comedy- Bryce is a fucking funny tool.)

Its hard to dance with the devil on your back
Was it a boy or a girl to text you last ? It was my husband. He was responding to a meme I sent him about Napoleons penis.
Name something you are doing tomorrow? Feeding the baby.
Do you sleep on your stomach? I used to. I wish I still could. Like my body wants to roll on my stomach, but it hurts my back and pelvis when I do it. I’m hoping that will change eventually.
Where are you going to be at 4pm tomorrow? No idea. Probably hanging out on the couch.
Last time you saw fireworks, with whom & where? All the 4th of July celebrations were canceled around here this year, so people just bought fireworks and lit them off at their houses. For months, ha ha.
Are you missing someone? Nah.
Do you like horror or comedy? Both.
Who did you last share a taxi with? The first time I went to New York was before Uber existed, so we used taxis. It was my roommate, Lori
Dogs or cats? Both are pretty cool.
What were you doing at 12 this afternoon? Sleeping. I sleep from 8a to 1pm these days. Completely normal, I know.
Do you think you will be in a relationship 3 months from now? Yep.
What’s your favorite season? Fall. Although the fall is getting less and less fally here every year.
When’s the last time you did something you knew was wrong? I’ve been taking what I assume are hospital bills and just putting them in a pile to be dealt with later. Dealing with all of that is just insane. I actually got a phone call the other day and the lady ledt me a voicemail saying I needed to call and make a payment plan to pay my $105,000 balance and I just don’t know how someone could even leave a voicemail like that.
Do you hate being alone? Nah. I’m actually pretty good with whatever circumstances. I have a limit to maybe being too alone, but mostly I’m good.
Is there a girl that knows everything or mostly everything about you? Close-ish. I’ve had the same best friend for like 20 years.
What about a guy? The husband.
What color shirt are you wearing? Plain black. Second shirt of the day, first one was vomited on.
What are you listening to right now? Spotify Daily Mix 1. Husband banging things around in the kitchen trying to cook, ha.
If you won a lot of money on the lottery, what would you buy first? Hmmm, no idea. Maybe bedroom furniture? We painted and pulled up the carpet to reveal the hardwoods and got a new ceiling fan, but I still have the same dressers and nightstands that I had when I was 15 and I’m, just, tired of them. They’re in great shape but man, 21 years is a long time to look at the same dresser ha ha.
What was the last thing you bought? Target order online. The baby is on special preemie formula and we can only reliably get it at Target.
What’s your greatest fear in life? Death.
Who was the last person to see you cry? Husband. The aftermath of having a baby and then just coping with life caused a lot of tears. Also, lack of sleep.
Who was the last person you hugged? My husband. Hugging other people is still frowned upon due to the pandemic.
Do you think you would be a good parent? Ha ha, hopefully, its a little too late to go back now.
When was the last time you cried? I need one of those workplace accident style signs for this. 3 days since the last sobbing.
Who was driving the last time you were in a car? I was. I dropped off some paperwork to a mailbox to get out of the house the other day.
Does any part of your body hurt right now? My tailbone hurts when I’m sitting like all the time these days and I don’t know why or what to do about it.
Who was the last person that text you and what did it say? I was chatting with a friend about one of my house plants earlier. A bunch of them were neglected when the baby and I were in the hospital for two months and I’m trying to nurse one back to life.
What was the first thing you thought this morning? When my husbands alarm went off at 8, I thought oh good, I can finally sleep.
How many times do you talk on the phone a day on average? Zed.
Do you like your bed? No. I fucking hate it. The blankets and whatnot are great and we got one of those adjustible bases so we can sit up and read and stuff but our mattress is just so awful. My husband for some reason convinced himself he wanted a firm mattress- spoiler alert, he didn’t- and we ended up with this compromise memory foam thing that is so hot and uncomfortable. If it wasn’t so exensive I would’ve set it on fire by now.
Hey, that’s what I’ll do with my lottery winnings from above- new mattress.
Do you like your life? Zoomed out, yes. Day to day, questionable.
When did you last talk to your brother or sister? I have neither. But I do have two friends that might as well be sisters and I’ve talked to one today and the other last night.
Do you ever wanna know who you are going to marry? I do know. Why did we have to spoil the surprise? Ha ha.
How much cash do you have on you? Zed. There are some dollar coins in my wallet from having to put a $20 in a vending machine a couple of months ago.
Who are the 3rd and 7th texts in your phone from? One is some automated system thing from the vet I take the dog to that I never even opted in on, and the other is me sending my husband a door code that our contractor gave him over the phone so he wouldn’t forget.
Are you tanned? Nope. Rarely am. This summer it was over 90 degrees and I was pregnant, so I didn’t spend a lot of time outside.
Are you upset with anyone? Nah.
Did you get any compliments today? Ha ha, no. I only saw my husband and the baby.
Have you ever gone to court? Once, because I got 3 speeding tickets within 6 months when I was 19.
Do you get jealous easily? I’m like low level jealous sometimes, but not like seething with it.
How good is your eyesight? I can see perfectly for about 14 inches.
Would you ever want to swim with the sharks? Sure. I did this snorkel/scuba thing in St. Kitts and there were wild Manta Rays swimming around/below us and it was amazing.
What time did you wake up this morning? I was up pretty much all night and then went to sleep at like 9am and got up around 1pm.
What are you doing Saturday? Same thing I do everyday. Being pregnant/having a newborn in quarantine is even more isolating than I thought it would be. We can’t have any one over to even give us a half hour to be human again.
What is in your back pocket? I am wearing fuzzy penguin pj pants and they have no pockets unfortunately.
What were you doing at 3am this morning? Reading. I’m on my 4th book this week. I finished two and got halfway through the third and just decided it was awful and to call it.
If people see this- book recommendations please! I’ve been reading a lot of non-fiction, but like most everything but smutty romance and fantasy. I’m also not reading scary stuff right now because I’m doing all my reading at like 4am and I don’t need to spook myself, ha.
What do you usually do first in the morning? Hope for more time to sleep.
What color is your room? Darkish green.
Are you any good at math? I am. I don’t particularaly like it but I can do a really good amount of math in my head easily.
Any plans for Friday night? Pretending that weekends have any meaning to me whatsoever any more.
What did you do last weekend? Fed the baby. Ate some food. Didn’t really sleep. I think last weekend is when I finished putting most of the nursery together.
Do you have a little crush on someone? Nope.
How old is the last person you kissed? 35.
Why did you last cry? Exhaustion. Change. Feeling like my body isn’t my own.
Why did you kiss the person you last kissed? Unsure, other than like, we love each other and stuff.
What's his name? Steven.
How has this week been? Tiring.

It’s nice to see a romance featuring OFWs that doesn’t sensationalize the challenges of working life and strikes a meaningful, empowering tone. Helmed by prominent director Cathy Garcia-Molina, this romance topped 2019’s Philippine box workplace and gained great important acclaim. This is the plot ofJohn Denver Trending—a hidden Pinoy indie film gem from 2019. In an age when cyberbulling and social media-driven disinformation are hot matters, this film helps viewers understand that online speech has real-world penalties, while not feeling overly preachy. Our third finest Pinoy film of 2019 is a authorized procedural drama—Verdict.Verdict follows the case of Joy, a Filipino housewife who stabs her abusive husband Dante in self defense.

Furthermore,Cleaners‘ visuals seem like highlighted black-and-white photocopies—evoking the appearance of Filipino high school reading supplies. Director Glenn Barit bodily printed out the frames he shot, manually highlighted them, after which scanned the highlighted printouts to craft the final movie.
It’s a sprinkle of coming-of-age mixed with a dash of magical realism. With wonderful manufacturing high quality, Alone/Togetheroffers a practical and heartfelt take a look at balancing romance towards particular person dreams.
The highest grossing films within the Philippines have a tendency to change every year, but what would not change is the fact that they're normally the same bubblegum-sort, feel-good flicks that is good for the second, but doesn't really age nicely. There are the Vice Ganda comedies, the John Lloyd Cruz romps, the Vic Sotto fantasies. Currently, the highest  grossing film is the freshly released Hello, Love, Goodbye, starring Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards, clocking in at virtually 900 million pesos. While it still falls principally under the standard tacky drama, it's become a well-reviewed movie that is deep, non-formulaic, and relevant.

10 Best Movies to Watch During Christmas Holidays
Great thing about the product quality holiday movies is that you never get tired of them! I've compiled listing of my favorite films for the 'season of love and understanding ', whilst the song says. I'm aware all of these movies won't interest everyone, but at the very least I am hoping you'll find some of one's favorites included.
Tumblr media
It is a Wonderful Life (1946) On Christmas Eve, a man down on his luck wishes he was never born and contemplates suicide. He's rescued by his guardian angel, who shows him what his friends and loved ones could be like without him...
This Frank Capra's ('Arsenic and Old Lace') classic is known as one of the very inspirational films ever and is really a traditional Christmas favourite worldwide because the 1970's. Interestingly, it had been a box-office flop during the time of its release! To be honest, I can't see why - is has touching story, memorable sing-a-long ending and masterful James Stewart ('Rear Window') in the leading role.
A Groundhog Day (1993) Cynical and self-centered TV meteorologist, while covering the story of the weather forecasting groundhog, gets stuck in time. In the beginning he takes advantageous asset of the specific situation, but soon he decides to create some changes as he starts to fall in love with his co-worker...
I think the very best romantic comedy for holiday season! Bill Murray ('Lost in Translation'), who's nothing significantly less than perfect in his role, shares great chemistry with lovely Andie MacDowell ('Four Weddings and a Funeral'). Even though you watch this movie lying in bed with high fever and cough, like Used to do last year, you will enjoy it anyway!
A Christmas Carol (1984) Miserly and sullen old man is taught the actual meaning of Christmas by ghosts who visit him on Christmas Eve and show him their own past, present and future. He realizes he's nothing good to expect in the foreseeable future unless he changes his ways...
Made for television drama is i think the very best and essentially the most faithful adaptation of Charles Dickens'novel, that has been adapted numerous times. This classic tale, set in Victorian England, with late George C. Scott ('Dr. Strangelove') as Ebeneezer Scrooge, will surely put you in the Christmas mood, but the powerful message it carries can be applied to all seasons!
The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993) Pumpkin King of Halloweentown is bored of accomplishing the same every Halloween. One day as he's walking into a wood he stumbles onto Christmas Town. Intrigued with the complete idea of the holiday, he decides to kidnap Santa and do Christmas himself...
Tim Burton, who became known for his darkish but original fables such as for example'Edward Scissorhands'or'Big Fish'directed this animated musical fantasy. It had been a massive success at the box offices and praised by critics for the stunning originality and visual excellence. In 2006. this film got the complete new dimension when it had been re-released into theaters in Digital 3-D.
Die Hard (1988) Prior to Christmas, New York City detective is here in L.A. to pay holiday together with his wife and children. Unfortunately, a group of terrorists has bought out Nakatomi Corporation building and is holding all employees hostages, including detective's wife...
For people who can't do without action thrillers during Christmas holidays, this is probably the best choice. John McTiernan's ('The Search for Red October') classic features exciting action sequences, memorable one-liners and a break through movie ดูหนัง role for Bruce Willis ('RED'), which sent this actor to the A-list Hollywood stardom.
Bad Santa (2003) An unhappy con-artist and his friend, a midget, are intending to rob department stores on Christmas Eve posing as Santa and his Little Helper. While they proceeding with the master plan,'Santa'befriends among their customers, an overweight and lonesome boy...
This Santa is truly bad! He chases women, he drinks heavily and swears about every 3 seconds. But we also learn that beneath the outer lining he hides a heart of gold. Certainly not a video suitable for kids, but if you're adult give this quirky comedy a opportunity for its different approach and great performance by Billy Bob Thornton ('The Astronaut Farmer').
A Christmas Story (1983) America in 1940's. A long time before PlayStation and iPad, 9-year-old boy longs for Red Rider BB gun. He tries to convince his family and Santa the gun would have been a perfect Christmas gift, but everyone keeps warning him that he'll shoot his eye out...
This family comedy, predicated on Jean Shepherd's semi-autobiographical stories, may be worth watching for many hilarious scenes and its reputation as the maximum American holiday movie of time. Peter Billingsley, who played the little boy, has become successful Hollywood producer, in charge of creating hits like'The Break Up'and'Iron Man '.
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe (2005) Four siblings are sent to the nation estate during World War II. Playing a game title of hide-and-seek, the youngest daughter discovers a wardrobe which transports her to Narnia, the magical land with eternal winter but without Christmas, ruled by the evil White Witch...
I've been loving this fable since I had watched 80's tv series version inside my winter holidays. The newest adaptation of C.S. Lewis'book, is aimed mostly at younger audience, but it could be enjoyed by whoever has some adventurous spirit inside! This film was followed by sequel'Prince Caspian'in 2008.
Elf (2003) An individual orphan is located by Santa Claus and raised by elves on the North Pole. When naive adult'elf''discovers he's actually an individual, he decides to attend his host to birth, New York City, in search of his real father, who's on Santa's naughty list...
The clash od two cultures - human and elfish - produces many laughs in this family oriented comedy. Obviously, a great part of the credits for laughter goes to leading actor, famous comedian Will Farrell ('The Other Guys') and veteran James Caan ('The Godfather'), playing main protagonist's biological father.
Scrooged (1988) A mean television executive, who will do anything just to increase his network's ratings, even it indicates forcing his office staff to sort out Christmas Eve, gets visits from three ghosts -
The Ghost of Christmas Past, Present and Future... I couldn't resist to place another, modernized and humorous version of'A Christmas Carol'on the list, because this is what's'Scrooged'all about. Once more, Bill Murray is excellent in his role, this time as media world Scrooge in a satire with great special effects, directed by Richard Donner ('Lethal Weapon').
