Adele's Super Chouette for TS3

As promised, Adele's Super Chouette is ready for TS3. Everything is tested by Graf Sisters. The only problem that I can think of is that I had to clone an ITF table because I couldn't find another object with 4 mesh groups. So if you don't have ITF, the coffee tables may not appear in your game.

And If you're aware of any base game object with 4 mesh groups, please inform me so I can try to make a more BG-friendly coffee table.

As usual, a few things to know before download:

The Loveseat is the master of textures for the armchair and sofa. I tried to lower the polys in low detail lods but they're higher than what's preferable.

Coffee tables use the same textures, but they're not dependent on each other in case you want one and not the other. The one with the brick is the original; I'm not a fan. So I made another one with metal legs. If you'll have both and merge your files, texture resources will be merged perfectly - having the same instance numbers.

My Sims are getting political! After so many months, I'm going back to finish up my Politics/Community Activist mod. This is actually what my Student Council mod is based on (it's basically a baby version of the Poltiics mod.) My current Sim, Arie Wang (I forgot where I downloaded this sim from but she's lovely and perfect for this storyline I'm playing out!) is in the Community Organizer career which is an Active career (like Firefighter or Stylist) and right now is working hard to push a new law in that will increase University scholarships and grants for all students.

Arie is a member of the New Earth party, one of the 4 political parties I created. New Earthers are all about the environment and focus on pushing forward environmental policies but as a mom, education is something that Arie cares about so she's been out there trying to encourage people to vote and hoping to sway voters before election day.

Different political parties have issues that they are either strong in favor of or against. If a party is against the policy, it's near impossible to sway them to vote for it so it's best to target people who are neutral and could vote either way.

I'm happy with how this customized ITF layout is coming out though I still need to make more tweaks and edits and also figure out why the active Sim's photo isn't showing (as below). Maybe also changing the title (Local Political Scanner??)

After probably doing about 40 fundraising cold calls she finally got someone to donate money. And boy did they! She's at the point in her career though when she doesn't need to be doing calls so I'm going to have her get some volunteers to do the grunt work so she can focus on making friends in City Hall to build further influence.

Once a ballot measure is put up for vote, you have 5 days to campaign before voting day. Arie has been hitting the streets every day to canvas for votes, doing campaign calls and also raising money for the party to pay for advertising (TV, radio, online, print) which is the most effective way to sway voters.

Yesterday, I added in a VFX to show when a Sim has been successfully influenced either for or against the ballot measure in question and in testing it out, I saw that Arie has actually been campaigning AGAINST the measure this whole time! Oops!

I clearly messed up with a bool somewhere but at least the influence system is working as intended.

With 7 hours until the Election period begins, and all the time and money I've spent on campaign ads, it looks like I've just accidentally doomed my town to expensive education until I can repeal the law. The Free Llamas are not going to be happy.

Also, shout out to Stable Diffusion which I used to create the Political Party Icons. I'm obsessed with this tool and loved how they turned out.

Sooooo after going through my cc I seem to have lost my favourite shelves.. I cant for the life of me remember who they are by all I can think of is they are like the itf shelves but thicker and come in multiple lengths.. around the thickness of below picture of a shelf and are dark brown in the icon..

I want to say they are Awesims but I cant find anything that looks like them.. they are just a plain plank of wood that comes in x2, x3, x4 etc

In The Flesh (ITF for short) is/was a TV show about a world where there was a zombie apocalypse but the thing that makes them zombies is viewed as a chronic illness so now the zombies have to take medication every day and society is rebuilding itself

And "partially deceased syndrome" only affects people who died in 2009, so most of the zombies were given funerals and buried by their loved ones and thus have the outfit they wore while wandering around and eating people

So in one episode, some of the zombies decide to throw a party where everyone comes dressed in the clothes they were buried in (most of them are wearing a suit or a nice dress but the main character is wearing a denim jacket, iconic)

And how partially deceased syndrome works is that brains are the only thing they can eat without getting sick, but they don't even need to eat brains if they're taking medication... so the brains and medication mix in a way that causes them to get high and they're passing around a Tupperware container of sheep's brains at this party

Also when the main character goes to that party, he goes outside to sit by a bonfire, and another zombie dude starts hitting on him

ALSO the main character is pan and both of his love interests are male, and the showrunner said that if they got to have a season 3, the main character's sister would've been in a relationship with someone named Alex who "can be a boy or a girl, use your imagination"

And I'm STILL salty like a decade later that the BBC canceled it on a cliffhanger in favour of gambling on a new IP

PK can pretend all he wants that he’s unbothered but he has to be in hell right now. His company is tanking and owes tens of millions of dollars to the ITF. Top people at Kosmos have been abandoning ship since last year. Rakuten, the company they partnered with, is in the toilet too. They lost billions last year and have their credit rated as junk by S&P. I have not and will not watch any streams he participates in, but just from the stills you can tell he was disheveled looking. Shakira airing this out at this exact moment hurts him in the worst way, and she may have calculated it to do just that. Will any investors with deep pockets want to come anywhere near him or Kosmos? I wouldn’t. The only one with business sense in that relationship was her 😅

I'm just at loss for words on how to describe Shakira' ICONIC movement right now tbh. The ex football player did her dirty, was shameless, and aired out their dirty laundry by going public with his mistress right after the breakup was announced. But her vengeance is simply a masterclass in all of the ways possible. First and foremost, she got what she wanted, and will be moving to Miami with her kids once her dad recovers. She's also capitalizing on the sentiment that everybody had when the infidelity was exposed "wow, what an idiot, how stupid do you have to be to cheat and simultaneously lose Shakira, the mother of your kids, for this basic 22 year old?!". In the song she's acknowledging what everybody already knew, and calling him a complete idiot while also including receipts which only sheds the light on him and makes him look even worse than he already did🤣. The song and release is basically her leading the "let's all laugh and make fun of Pique who lost the best thing he had going for him" train ascdaijacfiewnfw���. And the fact that he can only respond to the meme's created by this song, is further evidence to support the song. It's hilarious that she created this song that's exposing him as an idiot that is intimidated by successful and self sufficient women, and his only response is "HAHA I Love CASIOS🤡". Especially when his businesses are in shambles right now, along with his reputation. Meanwhile, Shakira's in Billboards all over the place being the image of luxurious brands like Burberry, topping the musical charts, and leading a social media phenomenon unlike no other. Not to mention that the demand for her tour and her music moving forward will be enormous Her career has always been solid, but she received another huge boost and mostly because of his stupidity and cowardliness lmao.

Survived a nervous start and finally getting things together, Ramsbury finally won their first round match against Barrientos/Behar with a match tie-break. While matches like these are necessary in their regard to rebuild their game, there were several things that could be of attention from today's match alone.

While service game-wise they were solid, especially after winning 78% of their points from their first serves, their second serves were still at risk by double-faulting 7 times. As a result, they won just 2% more of their points from their second serves than Barrientos/Behar. To note, both pairs scored 2 aces, which appeared that the service game accuracy was important–probably the reason behind the first set outcome (add Joe's nerves in there too).

On the other hand, Barrientos/Behar had their chances (with 5 opportunities to break), but credits to Ramsbury for saving 60% of the break points they faced as an improvement of what happened in the first set. The latter appeared more clutch while returning well, since they drove Barrientos/Behar off the balance at times, going after their shots, and even produced more critical winners in between. Consequently, they converted 66% of their break points, followed by setting the momentum and kept them going during the match tie-break.

In the second round, Ramsbury will face the winner between Nicolas Mahut/John Peers and Julian Cash/Henry Patten. It is going to be an iconic meeting for some reasons, including how Nicolas Mahut try to rebuild his form (including a quarterfinal finish in Puerto Vallarta Challenger last week), while Cash/Patten won 10 ITF and Challenger titles together last year for their doubles breakout together, would set a generational battle in the case of the latter.

Also, oomfs, it is highly encouraged to follow the Phoenix Challenger, singles-doubles alike, and keep watching Challenger events while you are there, because Challenger matters. Who knows you can end up being a Challenger stan (yes, I'm a Challenger stan too; imagine stanning Challengers, but it is also fun!) after Phoenix?

I know I’m not the only one who struggles to find the right fonts for my projects. So I put together a list of places to find good, free, legal, fonts to use in all of our websites. This list may be short, but it’s curated to help you find the best fonts in the easiest way, and without having to worry about all the legalese.

If there are any free font resources you like to use that I’ve missed, let me know! 

Google Fonts

Google Fonts is a great resource, and the go-to font repository. They make it easy to select and install fonts on your website—just click the font you want and copy the code! There’s over 1,455 font families to choose from, plus some great resources on typography, guides on how to choose the best fonts, and more.

All Google fonts are 100% free for personal and commercial use. The most common license is the SIL Open Font License. Some fonts are under the Apache license or Ubuntu Font License. You can redistribute open source fonts according to those conditions.

Fontshare

Similar to Google Fonts, Fontshare is a free fonts service launched by the Indian Type Foundry (ITF). Their mission is accessibility, so every font they release and promote is open source. There are 100 font families to choose from, as well as curated font pairings to help you pick! Like Google Fonts, they make it easy to install, just pick the font(s) you like and copy the code.

All Fontshare fonts are 100% free for personal and commercial use. They are offered on two licenses: Closed Source, which are are governed by ITF’s Free Font License (FFL) , and Open Source, which  are governed by SIL Open Font License (OFL). You can read more about their licensing here.

The League of Moveable Type

The League is the world’s first open source type foundry. They have some great fonts, as well as a newsletter, a podcast, and some tools to help you learn typography! You’ll need to download and install all of their fonts on your own website, but many of their fonts are also found in the first to foundries as well for easier install.

All the fonts from The League of Moveable Type are free & open source, available to use commercially and subject to the Open Font License.

Indestructible Type*

While its library is small, it has some very unique, iconic fonts. The designer only makes high quality, versatile, modern fonts that are accessible to everyone. If you’re familiar with fonts, you probably already know some of their core styles, but there are a few unique styles we don’t see used enough!

These fonts are licensed under the SIL open font license and are free for commercial use.

Font Squirrel

A great resource with thousands of available fonts for free commercial use. They also have a great font identifier tool, plus a forum to talk about fonts and typography. You do need to download the fonts and upload them into your own site. 

Unlike the other sites in this list, do be careful when selecting your fonts. While they do mark their fonts with what they think their individual licenses allow, there is no guarantee. So be sure to read their individual licenses and read Font Squirrel’s FAQ before using!

Other Free Font Resources

There are other places you can find good, free, legal fonts to use, but they are less reliable and often offer fewer free versions to promote premium paid fonts. Just be sure to read the individual font licenses before you use them. So check out these sites if you’re willing to dig around and see what you can find: Dribbble, Behance, Pixel Surplus, Graphic Pear, Fontbundles.net, Wild Picks, Sunrise Digital, Fontfabric, Pixelify, Font Shop, FontHaus, FontSpace, and MyFonts.

How to embed webfonts

Some of the linked resources give you easy links to install their fonts—but others require you to download the font and embed it into your website. So here’s the w3 article to show you how!

Remember: always use fonts with an open commercial license, specifically for the web. Using demo fonts or fonts designated for personal use on your website is not only bad practice (and usually not web-optimized), it’s almost always illegal! Personal use means for use on your single desktop (like when typing in a word doc) or for the free invitations you made for your dog’s fourth birthday. Everything else (including embedding a webfont) is almost always commercial.

Note: It is not advised to use sites like Dafont, Fontriver, 1001 Fonts, etc. to find fonts for your projects. While they do have free fonts, they are almost exclusively demo versions of commercial fonts that you need to buy a license to use on the web. Please read the license for every font you download to keep yourself out of trouble.

What’s your favorite Sims death? Every death is hilarious--fire and drowning are iconic, ofc. My fave sims GHOST, however, is the Haunted one from SN, and the Hologram one from ITF.

Alpha CC or Maxis Match? Alpha CC. I don't mind Maxis Match in TS3, but EFF NO in TS4--get that clayfied crap out of my face, alpha all the waaaaaay~!

Do you cheat your sims weight? YES, I use a weight gain mod.

Do you move objects? MOOOOOOOO! 🐄🐮

Favorite Mod? I juuuuust made a whole post drooling over my faves.

First Expansion/Game Pack/Stuff Pack? TS1 Makin Magic. Iconic.

Do you pronounce live mode like aLIVE or LIVing? aLIVE.

Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made? My avatar sim, Sakura Rain, the time-traveling Japanese cherry-tree faery of the Unseelie Court. (She's inspired by all my fave pink-haired anime characters.)

Have you made a simself? Yes, but only when I play The Sims with my family members, and we take turns making each other and our home. It's so much fun.

Which is your favorite EA hair color? White. Especially after TS4 came out with no CASt or color wheel and I couldn't even recreate my main sims like wtf. I have a type, EA!

Favorite EA hair? PFFT! 🙄 I can't stand most of the hairs EA makes in general, especially not the ones for male sims, as most of mine have very long hair.

Favorite life stage? Young adult, by default. But as more mods have been made for kids (No Stretch, Child Magic, Toddler Interactions) I have been enjoying child sims FAR more than I used to.

Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay? I'm a builder--that's how I got into TS1 way back in the day. I like decorating interiors--my exteriors are usually sad, I suck at using CFE--and just cluttering up my lots. As a fandom-inspired storyteller, I rely on in-game interactions to give my sims the poses/scenes I need, so having deep and immersive gameplay that allows me to recreate whatever fandoms I want is key.

Are you a CC creator? Unfortunately.

Do you have any Simblr friends or a Sim Squad? A "sim squad"???

Do you have any sims merch? No, but I want one of those plumbbob headbands so I can dress up as a sim on Halloween. XD

Do you have a  Youtube for sims? Technically no. I got into making TS3 machinimas inspired by my favorite music a few years ago, and would upload them to Youtube cuz that's what everyone did, but omfg all the recent changes in copyright and music policies has made it SUCH a headache uploading ANYWHERE--including Tumblr!

Like, my most recent IWTV insp. machinima on Tumblr has that stupid Copyright Guidelines thumbnail on it, even though Tumblr ACCEPTED the video and let it go through--it plays! It's not removed, so wtf??? No matter how many times I tried reuploading it I got the same problem--this BS is more trouble than it's worth, tbh.

How has your “Sims style” changed throughout your years of playing? My gameplay will always look a bit pudding, but I think/hope I'm getting better at recreating different fandoms, and getting the level of detail down just right.

Who’s your favorite CC creator? It takes a village. There is no ONE creator--especially since all my OG faves retired a long time ago: Luna, @qingshuangtongzi, Hekate999, etc. And new simmers pop up everyday that blow my mind, so yeah, it's just the community at large, really. 💚💚💚

How long have you had Simblr? 2013--this July will make it a full decade. Tumblr's trash but it's also the absolute best, LOL.

How do you edit your pictures? I suck at editing--in GIMP I just tweak the "Curves" brightness & saturation when the in-game lighting is hot garbage, then call it a win.

What expansion/ gamepack is your favorite? (TS1) Makin Magic, (TS2) Apartment Life & Night Life are tied for witches & vampires, (TS3) Supernatural, (TS4) Vampires. Like, Supernatural changed my life, I seriously doubt I'd've kept playing TS3 as long as I have without SN. I also love World Adventures and Into the Future of course, but Supernatural gave us Witches, Faeries, Werewolves, (I'm not even gonna talk about TS3's busted Vampires like how the EFF were they "updated" or "fixed" when we STILL didn't get a functional coffin, like what frikkin vampire would sleep on a frikkin altar exposed to the sunlight like a effing BUFFOON, EA?!) and all kinds of fanciful content that I just can't live without. Hands down. 🧙🪄🧙‍♀️✨
