Okay so, for tales of the road, my short story “games”, I intend the framing device to basically be Life and Death arguing with each other. These two eldritch goddess beings as a result of unbridled toxic love have created everything and all of human suffering. Life wants to create more and more to horrific results to honor death. Death tries to guide people to survive and live well as to honor Life. Life giving death meaning, Death giving life meaning. They don’t understand how the other doesn’t devote themselves to their named cause. Death only seeing the beauty of life, life only seeing the beauty of death.

So, my question.

Camping Cryptids Compendium is a collection of 5 new playable cryptids designed to work with the 80s horror-movie-inspired ttrpg Camp Cryptid. 

Each Cryptid comes with Unique Abilities and Crisis Moments, meaning each Cryptid offers a different play experience. Plus, every Crytpid comes with example Aspects to make character creation quick and easy. 

The featured cryptids are:  

Friar's Lantern - A ball of strange shimmering lights often found near large bodies of water. Use your mesmeric glow to lure people to their doom. 

Gestalt Man - Inspired by Frankenstein, this monument to science gone awry can use its stitched-together body to give itself the advantage in tricky situations. 

Spectral Bride - Inspired by classic ghost stories, this ghoulish figure won't rest until she finds someone to walk down the aisle with. Glide through walls and use your supernatural wiles to entrap those who catch your eye. 

Zombie - Risen from the grave and hungry for flesh! Use your unearthly strength and affinity for the grave to crush all in your path. 

Extraterrestrial - From the stars, but stranded on Earth and forced to scavenge to survive. Use alien technology to influence and entrap humans who learn too much about your intergalactic origins!
