Imagine this:

The MC wakes up in the middle of the night, panicked and confused and full of so much terror.

Someone is chasing them in their dream, hunting them, a demon. No one will help them.

They are surrounded by enemies or people just not interested in them and their struggle.

The demon is chanting, sing-songing that it wants to cook them, slice them, eat them as it tries to crawl in through their mouth.

They flail out of bed, not aggressive, just trying to escape, lost and alone, their heart trying to beat out of their chest.

Then, Cy is right there. They rush toward you, taking you into their arms. They hug you tight, applying deep pressure to calm your nervous system.

You bury your face into the crook of their neck, hands clutching their shirt as you wet the fabric with your tears.

And Cy holds you throughout, rubbing your back in soothing circles and crooning to you that they love you, they love you, they love you.

Their words drown out the demon. Their warmth leeches into you, relaxing your muscles. Their heady scent envelops you, and it quietens the rattling inside your mind.

Their love chases away the chill, their steadfast presence a protector.

You feel your body slump against them, spent, and they hold you up effortlessly, cradled safe in their arms.

You drift back to sleep with tears still staining your cheeks and a smile on your face, knowing that you will never be alone again.

In an AU where BTM MC was born in the TSSW side of their world, how do you think they would've met/encountered the ROs?

Living situation in this scenario has to be worse because I have to imagine that thing called MC's parent would be in a village leader role so the entire village either hates or ignores MC.

If Cy couldn't personally come to save them I like to think they'd send an honor guard to bring MC to the castle. MC has a carriage all to themselves, spoiled absolutely rotten.

Zach... hm, either masquerading as the lone knight/adventurer or maybe they're the head of said honor guard? Regardless, they'd have quite the head start on capturing MC's heart 😏😏😏😏😏😏

Cy would always come to personally get them, no matter what else is going on.

There could be a war waging, and Cy would be there one second, gone the next to get the MC.

The MC never gets put on the backburner. They are always THE priority, and Cy does not take a minute with them for granted.

Also, the entire village would be wiped out. Almost like an afterthought cause Cy is busy tending to the MC, but their deaths are swift and merciless.

Zach would not wipe out the entire village, just the people involved in tormenting the MC, but that's more because they want to be time efficient and less that they're feeling sympathy.
