Your favorite Veneziano and Romano headcanons at the moment? Individually or for both :)

I don't know what's going on at large right now, but I can share a few personal ones and some I've seen before from others that remain favorites :)

Veneziano:

He learned violin from Vivaldi and plays like a virtuoso. However, he's not as musically talented as Romano

He has a collection of Venetian glass figures. He keeps them sitting near his windows so they catch the light

A lot of his personal work from the Renaissance is in either Poland or Lithuania's houses if not in his or Austria's (Liet got some in Po's will and then kept it after Po came back because he's petty)

Romano:

Back in the day he used to be really into falconry

He could play the lute, which eventually evolved into learning guitar. Teen Lovi thought he could make the ladies swoon

He keeps a garden and he guards it with his life. You squash one of his vegetables on the vine and there will be blood

Both:

Veneziano is better at drawing and painting, Romano is better at sculpture and architecture

Romano has more musical skill, but he overlooks this a lot

They both have busts commissioned by Rome when they were young (of Rome himself, of each other, and of Mama Greece)

I’m so obsessed w rome loving his kids and being such a good guy and simultaneously being good at his job (aka empire stuff idk)

See that’s what’s so interesting is that like, to be an empire you have to put aside your humanity in a lot of ways. Empires are built with blood, and Rome was the rule rather than the exception. But he’s also a relatively good dad and a silly ass man??

When he’s actually home he adores his children and only wants the best for them. Granted Romulus was likely away on campaigns relatively frequently, but I can picture him being WAY more active in his kids’ lives than would’ve been typical for a patrician father. The fathers were supposed to be more strict and imposing. Romulus on the other hand is super indulgent and probably coddled them a lot (especially Feliciano), which was more of an expectation for mothers in Ancient Rome. Which makes me imagine that even if she’s very relaxed, Helene was probably laying down the law a lot more when it came to the kids. I can definitely picture allies (and enemies) of Romulus being surprised to actually see him this way around his children, especially because he embodies that strict paterfamilias role way more around his wards. The problem of course is that Romulus really parented them much in the way a human would, which left them unprepared in many ways when Rome fell and the kids had to start fending for themselves with only a delicate lifeline to their mother. But the point is, he loved them very dearly.

Basically he’s this vine when it comes to Feliciano and Lovino.
