for an anime like buddy daddies i expected it to have very basic animation, a bit crude and stiff at times, but it’s actually incredibly well-animated, it’s very fluid and dynamic, nothing so far feels like it’s poorly done or rushed, i appreciate it

ultimately when it comes to shipping and fandom space treatment of aspec characters i just don't accept "aro/ace people can still date/have sex" as an answer from nonaspecs. like yeah. mhm. okay. now i think we both know that you're not saying that out of real interest in the diversity of aspec experiences. so you can turn in your seventeen-page essay on why and how you plan to examine this character's aspec identity within the context of a romantic or sexual relationship complete with evidence from canon and peer reviews from multiple aspec people within the next week or i'm putting you in the pit from the edgar allen poe story

After Angband, Maedhros had a complicated relationship with his hair for a long while. The thing he once used to cherish and carry with pride, inherited from the mother he had left behind, was now tainted with memories of unwanted attention and derogatory touch.

After his rescue, it had to be cut short for the sake of his recovery, and he could never quite figure out whether he was more hurt or relieved by the act. It was Fingon, during those times filled with anxiety and doubt and shame, who helped him learn to accept his own appearance again– from the stump of his right arm and the scars littered across his freckled body to the locks of copper hair, ever so slowly regrowing to their former glory.

And little by little, the lingering memories of malevolent hands harshly yanking at his scalp were replaced by the feeling of tender hands carefully braiding familiar golden ribbons into his hair, once again beloved.

Which is made even more fascinating because we don't get his POV.#But we get so many insights! His loss of control and his firmness all contrasted against how he trembles.#And all of that wrapped up in a wonderful self-loathing bow! You go Lan Zhan! You hated yourself so much for this!#WWX is a hilarious narrator for this because he is truly just...baffled by what's going on.#He would push the person away but he doesn't want to hurt their feelings or pride (putting other people first again are we?)#I do understand why this one is divisive for people though. I choose to look at it through a character/humourous lens.#I've seen people defend and admonish this scene as a particularly shitty thing LWJ did and let's be very clear here: It was.#That's why I like it. LWJ did a shitty thing and struggles with it. It's part of what makes him so robust as a character.#It's also fine if you enjoy this scene for it's eroticism. You're not a bad person for that. #dandy's doodles #inanimate insanity #ii #ii steve cobs #ii mephone #ii spoilers #ii 16 spoilers #objectober #objectober 2024 #okay i'll be honest. the final drawing barely fits the prompt #however! it was inspired by it #'internet' immediately made me think of 'welcome to the internet' by bo burnham #and my mind instantly jumped to 'and it did all the things we designed it to do'#and y'know... steve cobs designed mephone to be able to create things #and so in a way mephone is fulfilling his purpose by creating the contestants #he's fulfilling his purpose by doing what his dad did #and then that made me think of the garden of eden story #where god creates both adam and the tree of knowledge #he tells adam not to eat its fruit and yet adam inevitably does; thus adam gains free will #and one has to wonder if that was god's intention all along - for humans to have free will #whereby adam - through the apparent defiance of god - is able to become exactly what he was created for #and y'know... mephone making his show as a rebellion against cobs...#only for that very show to be a creation borne of his intended purpose #so yeah. my mind jumped from bo burnham to the biblical creation of man #anyway!! very very happy with how this turned out #my favorite part is the charger snakes. i'm so glad i came up with that idea #also cobs' arm! that turned out really well! i referenced my own hand for his!!#in any event... it turns out i really really like biblical imagery and symbolism huh #also yes i did stay up all night like a maniac drawing this. the idea came to me and i just had to see it through :D i'm glad i did

honestly the funniest gideon to me might be immediately post-show. where hes fresh out of jail on parole and trying to be a better person. my headcanon is they commuted his sentence to a mixture of therapy and community service (they uh. had no choice after the decision to both ignore weirdmageddon and also the prison got destroyed) and he accepted this in his attempt to Be Nicer

but also it means hes walking around town like this for a while

#do you think he goes back to school. with an ankle monitor. 'what did you do over summer gideon' 'jail time.' 'what'#ghost-eyes picks him up on his motorbike to go get ice cream after school or something #the funny thing is. i think his prison mates are the best thing to happen to gideon in years. because while they're all criminals #theyre also like... well adjusted adults. so when he starts acting crazy they can temper that a little bit #ghost-eyes especially just becomes his cool new uncle who is the only person not afraid to go 'gideon dont do that brother'#i just think attempted reform gideon is really funny. hes trying his best! honest! he just also keeps wanting to murder people for a while #hes very [grits teeth] I Will Not Swear Vengeance On Anyone Today.
