Not because of any deep moral conviction, not because the thought of blood on his hands disgusts him, but because Bruce doesn’t kill. Because Bruce has his rules, his unwavering lines drawn in the sand, and Tim—Tim borrows Bruce’s morals like well-worn library books. Flipping through them, adapting them, following their words not because they are his own, but because he has built himself in Bruce’s image.

So Tim does not kill.

Not with his hands.

Not with a blade, or a gun, or a snapped neck in a dark alley.

But with words?

Tim kills with words.

It’s not intentional. Not really. But Tim was raised by Janet Drake, a woman who could cut a person down without ever raising her voice. Who could pinpoint a flaw, an insecurity, a single vulnerability, and wield it like a scalpel. A woman who could leave people bleeding out on the floor without spilling a single drop of blood.

And Tim—Tim learned.

It’s a habit, more than anything. A reflex. The same way others clench their fists when angry, Tim speaks. He opens his mouth, and out come words that cut deeper than any blade. He does not filter. He does not soften. He sees, and he speaks. And maybe he doesn’t always realize what he’s done, but the aftermath is always the same.

Because Tim does not kill.

But he has taken lives in a way that cannot be undone.

With a glance, with a sentence, he finds the tender places beneath a person’s armor and rips them wide open. He strips people of their confidence, peeling away the layers until all that remains is a hollow, fragile shell. He exposes their weaknesses, their insecurities, their fears, and breaks them with nothing more than a passing comment. He finds the seams in their self-worth and pulls, until they unravel, until nothing is left but ruin.

He doesn’t see the blood. But the damage is just as real.

Tim does not kill.

But sometimes, he thinks it would be kinder if he did.
