Number 21 with Jisung please!!!!
21: Singing karaoke together
"You can't pick a song that you guys have made - that's cheating!"
"But what if I sing over parts I don't cover?"
"Still cheating, Ji - pick something else!"
With the power of rainbow LED lights and silly props, you and Jisung were having the time of your lives in the private karaoke booth; starting the night with a few duets of the most popular songs before diving right into a little game you liked to call 'Better Cover'.
The rules were simple, the singer picks a song and they do whatever they must to do the best cover they could - whether it be using the voice and music effects, or doing the best performance with improv dancing and witty ad-libs.
"Okay - I got it!"
With a press to the remote, the speakers began to vibrate with the beats of MINX's Love Shake filling the space.
"Starting strong with a girl group, you're really making this a competition, huh?" You mused as he placed the remote on the couch.
"Just showing off my idol skills, Jagi - watch!"
You could barely contain the excited smile that stretched your lips, nor were you prepared to see Jisung energetically bounce to the center of the room, the flower sprout headband he wore hanging on for dear life as he slid on a pair of oversized pink glasses.
"Baby," he sang into the mic, trying his best to keep the embarrassed laughs at bay, "don't let me stop, you-" pointing toward you, he shot you a wink before jumping into position, "-love me!"
"You know the choreo too?!" Gasping, you watched as he bounced to the beat, one hand on his hip while the other confidently held the mic s if he were on stage in front of thousands.
Jisung seemed to channel his inner MINX member as he sang and danced, his energy infecting you as you sang along to the intended fan chant portions of the song.
"Shake it love-"
"Love!"
"Shake it, shake it, shake it, shake it love-"
"Love!"
As he spun to do the next part of the dance, you all but squealed like a pig in mud as he started shaking his hips side to side, fully committed to the choreography - and winning the unofficial competition.
Before you knew it, the final beats of the song were floating through the speaker, and you were left with a very out of breath Jisung, and a karaoke screen totaling up the points he earned through his riveting performance.
Celebratory music played as the screen displayed a perfect 100 - followed by a small image of a crowd cheering as he bowed graciously.
"Thank you! Thank you, no, really, you've been a wonderful crowd! I'll be here all night!" He waved to imaginary audience members, even striking a few ageyo poses as if they were taking his picture.
"Okay, be honest with me," pointing the remote at him, your eyes narrowed in a playful glare, "how long have you had that planned?"
Pursing his lips, Jisung sheepishly looked away before muttering, "...since our last karaoke date."
"You've been waiting to show me up for a whole month?!"
"Hey! I had to after watching you show me up with Icky! I can't even listen to KARD the same without getting war flashbacks!"
"Alright, well two can play at this game - this is real war, Han Jisung!"

WHO MV ANALYSIS: BRILLIANT STORY TELLING, QUEER CODING AND MORE
I have a lot to say. And yes i positively feel like a clown that this post comes right after jimin said "go ahead, misinterpret everything hehe". This might be a long one, so settle in. Also, if you are looking for this as some kind of validation for any ship, I'm afraid it might not serve that purpose (BUT keep reading!). This is simply an analysis of MV elements and cinematography in its purest form appreciating the brilliant work done by Lumpens and his assistant directors.
Part 1: Start of the story of a man in search of love
Let's start from the very beginning. Many of you have already figured out that Jimin is telling a story here (I'm not wrong yet Jimin, dammit). How do we know this? Look at that mini TV. Yes, this mini TV is actually our bookmark, our storyteller. In it's first appearance, it says "play" with a man walking at a normal pace, imitating jimin here, who is also walking.
Elements to notice here:-
The 'ONLY' signs on the road which mean these roads have only limited accessibility when it comes to directions. In my opinion, it symbolizes the rules that this world imposes on us. And here comes jimin whining/asking why he hasn't met 'her' even if he sees her at night? (imagines her) and thinks about her.
2. Also notice how it says "BLISS" on the neon sign but the world he's in is basically pre-tornado winds - there are papers flying, cars on fire, safety barrier tapes, even the mini TV is on fire. The flyer for the song says "who is!! Tornado of love" and basically serves as a warning that the 'tornado of love' is approaching soon.
3. Reference to 'Closer' (than this?) on the billboard with a man on it. Looks like a reference to a movie or song of 1995 which I haven't been able to find out yet. [help me]
Part 2: Searching gets more desperate
Moving on, we see Jimin entering the part of street with an old, dilapidated building in the background (so much to notice here!!)
Elements to look out:
Firstly, look at the mini TV which still says 'play' but the man in the TV is now running instead of walking. Just like how Jimin's steps are faster now, he's on his search for 'her', but he's getting desperate.
Notice the engineers in the background? Yes they are engineers- they have plans, measuring devices etc. And they are working to "renovate" the building. Interesting choice of scene right before a tornado... let's found out why-
Notice that on the right side to the entrance of this building, there's "B-1" written on the walls, but one could also read it at "13 1" At first glance, that's what it seemed like to me. I think people renovating a building whose name looks like a "13" is symbolism for jimin trying to heal/renovate/repair his heart/emotions/past traumas. It's about him still being in that phase where he is healing/ trying to heal himself by trying to find 'her' OR maybe he's trying to find 'her' when he is not even completely healed himself.
See the TV on the shopping cart on fire because it will be referenced later. Put a pin on it.
Part-3 Theatrics
With a flash of retro cable TV like lights, the perspective changes - as in now you are watching inside the mini TV. I'm talking about this part, when he changes direction and goes to the girl. So many interesting things happen, I'm giddy thinking about writing it.
Elements to notice:
I can't help but think of the words 'auto calibration ' that flashes right before Jimin does that cunty choreo with the female dancer. 'auto calibration ' literally means 'standardization' or 'correction' . I don't think people realise how queer coded it is. 'coded' being the keyword here. It could also mean 'standardized' as in the way we view idols as these perfect people with perfect dating lives.
3. The car is on fire- so yeah whatever is happening cannot be good. Everything is still chaotic and doesn't make it easy
2. The mini TV now shows various images with a heart '<3' symbolizing that he is engaging in some kind of relationship, but this is literally the biggest 'drama' ever. Because look at this scene- it's pure cinema..
"So many people to see" - people watching them date/engage while making a whole show out of it. There's also an ambulance nearby because obviously an idol's dating life shown to the public can leave people hurt and offended. As Jimin and the girl dance, they are literally in front of a local theatre called the 'OASIS'. My interpretation is that a celeb's dating life is literally 'theatrics' for the public. They are reduced to nothing but characters for entertainment, and worst part is that the public isn't happy either. No wonder, making it extremely difficult for Jimin to find true love. Special mention where the girl has him in a chokehold, quite literally an uncomfortable position, entangled with each other- or at least that's how the public views them.
3) In the same scene we see that the mini TV has tumbled down along with the shopping cart which was on fire, hence setting the car on fire too lol. Brilliant attention to detail.
Part-4 - where Jimin gets more desperate to find true love (in the past!)
As soon as the dancers leave, we see the huge billboard fall down and if i go with all the clues we have been getting, especially the travel show...it is WILD.
Because people are focusing on the possible OST called "Keep going", but DO YOU NOT REALISE HOW HUGE IT IS THAT JK IS REFERENCED IN A ROMANTIC SONG? dropping from the sky with 'who' written on it??!! "Who" without the questions or exclamations. I'll let you go delulu mode on that one. Moving on-
You must have noticed that to show a change in phase/scene, they have used multicolored flashes and change to 90s TV perspective. The same happens now after the billboard drops but the important thing to notice is the "rewind" on the screen now. Which basically means jimin going through different people is a thing of the past.
3. The crow/raven seen multiple times in the MV. Either way, a crow or raven is not something we see at night. They come out only at times of 'unnatural exceptions' like storms, earthquakes etc because they are not nocturnal creatures. While Jimin was trying to find love, there was definitely something happening which wasn't natural for him or was out of his comfort zone/he was not himself.
4. Another instance of queer coding I noticed was both men and women walking past him, similar to Like Crazy MV. It had a different symbolism in LC because he was trying to stay in the dream. But here people walking past him clearly means possible romantic partners. And he keeps stopping, keeps trying his luck with different people, almost always failing. OR- it could mean there are people of both genders walking past him but he never goes for the men in the past.
Part-5 - The tornado of love finally arrives
Now it says 'Play' on the screen meaning we are now in the present again. The tornado has built up, Jimin looks more confident, more smug as the tornado gains momentum behind him.
A flash of light, fireworks erupt as he sings his heart out. Even after the tornado is completely gone, the sparks and short circuits and destruction continues, meaning the 'tornado of love' arrived and certainly did a number on him.
Finally, we see him on a much calmer path. All cars lined up. He owns his life now. The situation is under control, the cars with lights on, ready to go.
I truly appreciate the storytelling in WHO MV. Lumpens Sir delivering as always. And I would love to know which things were Jimin's ideas but he wouldn't share that with us would he?
Let me know what you think and discuss in the comments if you want to.

Its really hard to explain the difference between JJK and MHA, but I think your point about the comic book logic is what makes MHA hold together much more for me. I also found the fights much easier to follow whereas I had to keep pausing mid JJK fight to reread to try to figure out what the fuck is going on because I didn't understand how the powers worked and couldn't figure out what they were supposed to be doing at any time. JJK feels kind of like a Naruto fanfic that got badly of hand trying to explain the magic system and made things worse
I will say I prefer MHA for a lot of reasons, and one reason IS that I found the fights easier to follow, but also I consumed JJK mainly through manga and MHA via the anime. I've watched a few rando bits of the JJK anime (usually when my sibling and I get together, we end up watching anime, which is how 90% of the anime i watch gets consumed), and the fights seem much easier to follow when animated. Like, the explanations are still bad, but it's easier to figure out who hits what and what powers are supposed to actually look like. Like, one of my bigger criticisms of the JJK manga IS that the fight choreo is extremely difficult to follow, even when a character is narrating what is happening.
While I can't comment on the MHA manga vs the JJK manga specifically and can only really do MHA anime VS JJK manga, I will say that the MHA internal logic seems to make more intuitive sense than the JJK internal logic, and that helps a ton with just... following the plot. Like, I will say that I love the concept of the world of the world of JJK, which is more in the vein of Yu Yu Hakusho or Supernatural (both being series that I ate up) than western comics inspired MHA. But even if you remove your own cultural understanding of superheroes, I still think MHA is more consistent? Everyone has a superpower, which comes with defined rules and limitations (which can change as the character grows and develops, but these changes are usually explained). Society has a bunch of special laws and jobs based around these superpowers, and there's exploration of social problems caused by the existence of superpowers. These explorations are set up in a way where we learn things bit by bit in a mostly understandable way. I'm not arguing MHA is flawless and always makes perfect sense, just that throughout the two seasons I watched, I did usually feel like I understood what was happening and why. Some pieces of real world logic might not apply to the superpowers or characters' actions, but we as viewers at least understand the logic of the universe.
Meanwhile, I still don't super understand domain expansion in JJK, despite my sibling's attempts to explain it (and my sibling also admitted some parts just don't make sense?). Like, it really seems like a lot of fights are determined by which character remembers they can do that first. It's never made super clear what "curse energy" is and why only three families can do shit with it. Gojo's eyes are pretty but I don't understand what they do. Character motivations are defined fine enough and I can get the gist of the conflict in the world, but when I don't understand what is happening on a chapter by chapter basis, the flimsier pieces of characterization/plot start to become more obvious because I don't have cool fights to distract me.
#i'm not like an MHA stan or anything. i just think it's the better series in most regards lmao#i will hunt gojo satoru for sport

Favorite Programs of 2023/2024 - Women's SP
I'm debating calling it a good year. There's actually a lot of programs on that list but would i call them masterpieces ? Not really, at least not all of them. While all these programs are good they're not groundbreaking. I feel like most of the field spent the season honing in their particular brand, or aesthetic, not doing that much of exploring with some exceptions.
Honorable mentions
Clare Seo (Simple Gifts) - NOT a Quaker song, thank you very much but a Shaker song (it's another Christian sect tho). I like it very much. I like the music, and Clare has gorgeous posture and musicality. It's very much Americana but I found it fresh.
Mao Shimada (Americano) - costume is the cutest thing. It's chock full of delightful moments and transitions. Looses points because the step sequence has imho too much of two-foot skating and stop-and-pause moments, but that's a recurring problem with Kaitlyn Weaver's choreo.
Seoyeong Wi (Pride and Prejudice) - perfect packaging for a young debuting skater and I'm surprised it's not picked more often.
Rino Matsuike (One Day I'll Fly Away) - One day Rino will choose music that is not a warhorse. Meanwhile I'll enjoy arguably the best skating skills of the field.
9th - Yu-Feng Tsai - Copycat, by Billie Eilish, choreo by Jun-Fei Ren
Arguably the best choreo in the junior field. Fun. Sassy. Unlike anything else seen this season. Okay, yes it was Billie Eilish but it was a song that's not usually picked, it was fresh and it was good.
8th - Niina Petrokina - Run, by Marvin Brooks, choreo by Mark Pillay
I liked her previous SP better, and I'm not that fond of the music but Niina wins this by sheer commitment to the performance. One of the skaters where the whole body is involved, especially during the step sequence. That's what the GOE bullets are supposed to reward.
7th - Young You - Otono Porteno, by Astor Piazzolla, choreo by Tom Dickson.
The attitude, the sass, the steps, THAT SPLIT JUMP. She did the right thing bringing it back.
6th - Haein Lee - Seirenes, by Christopher Tin, choreo by Lori Nichols and Carolina Kostner
First rule we should live by after this season : whenever Carolina and Lori are involved, they strike gold. Happened to Yuma, happened to Haein. Seirenes is eerie, moody and a very good vehicle for Haein. She had us worried for a moment but did the right thing bringing it back.
5th - Jia Shin - Fascination, by Fermo Marchetti, choreo by David Wilson
I never really got Jia until this season. This is I think her first program that made me go : "okay. I see now why other fans are obsessed with her skating. I get it". If you asked me, I would stop giving Jia twee instrumental pieces and moody ballads and give her waltzes, more classical pieces. Jia has the musicality to keep up those kinds of tempi. She has the lines to express that kind of music. She has the flow to match the rythm. The transitions in and out of her 2A ? Stuff dreams are made of.
With Fascination, I love the music, I love Jia in it, I love watching her hitting those notes, I love her inside edge Ina Bauer during her step sequence... I'm a new fan.
4th - Hana Yoshida - Koo Koo Fun, by Lazer Disk, choreo by Kaitlyn Weaver
I'm fascinated with the way Hana picks her programs because her choices are immaculate. For two seasons straight, down to her gala programs, Hana has picked bangers after bangers. Koo Koo Fun is outside the box, funny, stands out musically, the choreo is quirky...
Doesn't make it straight to the top because every time she skated to it, I found Hana a little bit too stiff for the vibe the program requires. She needs to skate with more abandon and fun and that will only come with experience. Her mind is already there, her body needs to follow.
3rd - Yelim Kim - Ladies in Lavender, by Nigel Hess, choreo by Jeffrey Buttle
I don't remember who on this website said that Yelim's skating makes them believe in a better world, but I do agree. There's something healing in her skating. Right now there's no skater in the field that can match the elegance and quiet dignity of Yelim's skating.
2nd - Loena Hendrickx - I'm Ninalu, by Mors Avraham, choreo by Adam Solya
Loena at her very best and when she's on she pisses everywhere on the stage. I honestly don't get the complaints about doing too much party programs. As long as she serves it as hard as she does, she can take us to the club anytime she wants. I don't care about versatility if a skater has found a niche they do extremely well.
1st - Kaori Sakamoto - Baby God Bless You, by Shinya Kyozuka, choreo by Jeffrey Buttle
Forget what i just said. Kaori wins it but virtue of trying and succeeding in bringing in a new style. The concept is cute. Skating to the string version is the superior choice, as the music is more climatic than with the piano version. And the step sequence shows how above the field Kaori is right now.

Hey, your hc's of the kid pirates are making me daydreaming!! May I please request some for UK, Pomp and Bubblegum? They appeared in the manga too and look so funny! Thank you🙏🏻
i love how they look. all 3 of them look so iconic and like they could only belong on Kid's crew.
UK:
Ironically he's not from the UK but France
Wire and UK regularly mix up their fishnet clothes with each others
Part of a best friend trio with Pomp and Bubblegum, they help each other do their crazy hairstyles each morning and share a room
Makes very good chocolate cookies
He can also make chocolate
Really awkward around people who aren't the crew, his pet parrot or you
Would loose his mind if you wore anything made of fishnet material
He's frequently called Rooster by the crew
Has a pet parrot named Anarchy
Anarchy prefers you though, for some reason
Was super awkward around you before you started dating, he couldn't speak to you properly and Bubblegum had to translate what he was trying to say
You're not allowed to touch his hair, it takes him too long to get it perfect
Although one time you pulled on his hair during sex and he orgasmed immediately
So he's have an internal argument about the no hair touching rule
Switch but prefers to sub
Only listens to music from YouTube
Can dance the whole Gangam Style routine whilst singing/rapping it (with super stable vocals)
Took fencing lessons and is a world champion fencer
Would risk his life to protect you in battle and wears any scar he gets from protecting you with pride
Massive car fan
Drags you to car shows
Pomp:
Can't stand coffee
He's one of the crew's doctors and a shipwright
Secretly wants you to his makeup in the morning
Was recruited by Killer at the lowest points of his life
He is incredibly grateful to Killer
Can't believe that you've ended up with him and thinks he doesn't deserve you
Gets on very well with Jimbei and Franky
Smokes cigars, sometimes during sex
Prefers when you're on top
Voted the least kinkiest members of the crew
He still has kinks though, the rest of the crew are just freaks
One of the oldest members of the crew and is nicknamed grandfather
Russian and is very good at traditional Russian dancing
Is balding and loosing his hearing (but only in his left ear)
Quincy cannot stand how he dresses
Falls for scam emails and phone calls daily
You have to regularly take his transponder snail away from him to stop the scams from happening
Acts like Dive's grandfather who spoils her
Super good at communication about your relationship and problems he has
Addicted to calling you the more prettiest/handsome person he's ever seen in his life
Bubblegum:
Kpop stan, specially Twice and Got7
Learns kpop dance choreo very easily
Wants to dance duets with you and gets very turned on by it
They're genderfluid
Their hair is naturally like that
Really good friends with Bepo and Penguin from Law's crew
Also good friends with Usopp
If you have breasts, they'll want to suck on them 24/7
Their nickname comes from how they can blow really big bubbles from gum
Has mommy issues
Naturally has a mommy kink, even when they're the dom during sex
Their actual name is something like Brian or Chad but they don't like being called that
Their hair feels like straw if you touch it
Used to be an assassin before they joined the crew
Has a sex playlist but regularly stops mid sex to make you appreciate the songs playing
You've banned the playlist from sexy time
Considers themselves to be one of Dive's best babysitters
Cries to Mitski songs with you
Wasn't allowed to express any 'non-masculine' traits when they were younger so now they like when you do their makeup and help them to rebel against their parents' old rules
#pomp reminds me of old men for some reason#idk why but he gives very old man vibes#one piece#one piece x reader#one piece headcanons#kid pirates#kid pirates x reader#killer op#wire op#bubblegum op#bubblegum headcanons#bubblegum x reader#pomp headcanons#pomp x reader#pomp op#pomp one piece#bubblegum one piece#UK x reader#UK one piece#UK op#UK headcanons

TxT when they catch you dancing to one of their songs
pairing:: txt x gn!reader
genre:: fluf
note:: am much too lazy to proofread so here goes nothing
Yeonjun::
you were cleaning since yeonjun was coming over
and you had your speaker connected, just absentmindedly listening to music
and that's when Puma came on
it didn't matter that you didn't know the choreo that well, you still had the key points
so you danced as you dusted around your apartment
filling in the moves you didn't know with your own
unbeknownst to you though, you had a silent audience for more than half of it
yeonjun watched with a grin, almost failing not to laugh when you sang along to the chorus
it wasn't until yeonjun's rap part did he let you know he was there
he wasn't serious with it at all, and was mostly trying to make you laugh as he exaggerated the words
and oh it worked, because when the chorus came back he started twerking
even through the embarrassment you died on the spot laughing as did he
Soobin::
you were cooking for your boyfriend with your playlist going quietly in the background
however, when Magic came on you felt obligated to turn it up a bit
the dance was addictive and you loved doing it
you couldn't give a full effort as you had to focus on not burning your food
but you gave it all that you could
soobin snuck in unawares and giggled quietly as he watched you do the hand motions and move your feet in the small space
you were rocking you hips back and forth when you felt arms wrap around your waist
almost dropping the tongs you were holding and screeching until you heard the laugh
"soobin!"
you were beyond embarrassed and heat rose in your cheeks
rushing to turn the music down again as he continued to laugh
"aww, c'mon baby, it was cute."
you just shook your head and turned back to the food as he kissed your cheek
"never again." you vowed, but you both knew it was a lie
Beomgyu::
you had just pulled out the mop when LO$ER=LO♡ER began playing
you couldn't help the laugh as you realized how perfect it was
and so you started dancing with the mop as your mic prop
giggling all through out as you moved about the kitchen
beomgyu entered as quietly as he could when he heard the music outside your door
already guessing what he'd find but it was hard for him not to laugh as he approached an unsuspecting you
suddenly the mop was snatched out of your hands and beomgyu continued the dance flawlessly with a laugh
you didn't feel much embarrassment, it wasn't the first time you and beomgyu had caught each other dancing
he always hyped you up anyway in true boyfriend fashion
he ran his hand up the mop in the move that always made butterflies erupt in your stomach
after that you both finished the dance, passing the mop back and forth, while laughing
Taehyun::
you had headphones in, just going about your day waiting for taehyun to text you
but he had other plans and wanted to surprise you
so as your body was wrapped up in the movements of Can't You See Me?
he walked in and he was not about to ruin the show you were giving
honestly? he just went and sat on the couch as you moved with your back to him
his eyes never leaving you as you danced
eventually you spun around and your eyes widened
he was sitting there, legs crossed with a big smile
"can't you see me?~"
he teased and laughed as you stood there in shock
"how much of that did you see?"
"will it make you feel better if i lie? but don't stop on my account love. you move really well."
and his praise only made you blush harder
Hueningkai::
it was late, and you only assumed your boyfriend was running late from practice
so you started listening to music to pass the time
until your attention got caught by New Rules
and you couldn't help but begin to dance to the energetic song
so when hueningkai walked in the door you were mid choreo
and he couldn't help but giggle
however he rushed to drop his things and join you
which caught your attention and you tried to stop before embarrassing yourself further
but he grabbed your hands in his and began to pull you around in an effort to dance with you
who could resist him anyway?
so you gave in and danced with him until the song was over
"we've got to start doing that more often y/n"
you just nodded since you were out of breath as he giggled

Memories 2016: Disc 4
So I asked awhile ago when I said I was going back to watch every memories DVD they have released so far, if you would be interested in commentary from me as I did so. 22. Miss Right
23. I Need U
We start in June with the boys in Taipei. A minute into the video and we have jikook playing games already. Lol little wrestling robots game. Jimin bragging he won too much and JK saying it's only because I let you win (something he started doing with frequency in 2015) and then doing a rematch where he wins super quickly. Lmao poor Jimin.
This was also the same time as rehearsals for this concert that we see jikook practicing their COA performance. And JK mimicking Jimin on his 333 dance and immediately turning to check to see if he made Jimin laugh (he did 😊). Maknae line crazy dance times together in between stages 🥰
In Macau is where we get the iconic Sope skit with the recorder music that Hobi plays with his nose and Suga can't help but giggle over. And they thank their fans for the gift of such a luxurious recorder
I will never understand why they film them eating meals or snacks right up in their faces. I really don't need to see it and dang, let them eat without risk of accidentally inhaling the camera too with how close they get 🤣 the dance party from how good the snacks were though and excitement for the concert was adorable.
In Nanjing (July), Love seeing Jihope help the others perfect the choreo and picking out little things they can do to make the overall performance better. Main dancer things 🥰 and then vmin taking a break between rehearsals and the concert to play basketball together!
Jin dancing to ARMY singing songs before BTS even takes the stage 🥺 I love that they get to feel so much love. RMs inspiring little speeches before they go on to his members, do our best! And then we just got clips of total chaos and I want more please! Lol taekook piggy back ride, everyone hyping Suga up for his verse by patting him all over and jumping, Jimin swinging in between TaeJin, Tae on JKs shoulders, Tae's Boyz with Fun dance... I'm noticing a common factor in this craziness being Taehyung 😂 love him.
Tae2Seok proposing to ARMY during their ending mentions. Lmao dangerous idea to give out my guys. 😂 followed by their talks to the camera at the end with Jin continuously proposing to Jimin (somewhat aggressively lmao) before JinJiKook all ask ARMY to marry them too. What is this?! What was the joke? 😂
In Osaka now! They were all so excited during rehearsals and cutesy teasing Tae about how often he said "now" during his VCR recording. (He did say it a lot lol.) Man, rhey also are making Jimin dance on every show! Either showing parts of Fire and the 333 dance before, but now it's Butterfly 😂 and ahh the way JK looks at him while he sings so Jimin can dance everytime. So fond. Such a big smile. And this time Jin did it too!
Jimin jokingly holding Jin back from giving the camera kisses for the end of show mentions. And then Jikook have been doing so many of their camera talks together lately. Lol "the youngest teased me so much today everyone" lol okay Jimin. They are so cute. Followed by Jin and Jimin reacting to JKs celebrity bromance show, which I have already made a post over here too.
Nagoya concerts! Yoongi being so professional and working with the sound techs over what should be higher/lower for instruments and Members voices. Being so knowledgeable and so cool. And then JK following him around in tiny and mimicking everything he says giggling softly to himself and at the camera 🤣 "suga hyung won't scold me" indeed.
Lmao right before the concert. JK is trying to talk to the camera and Tae is just belting his lungs out across the room everytime he tries to talk 🤣 jin sharing how backstage is like a war zone as they have all 7 members trying to get changed and their hair/makeup freshened up in just 3 minutes but that he always finishes first.
Jikook playing together before rehearsals on day 2 with silly dances 🥺 Jin proposing to ARMY AGAIN and the editors being savage lmfao "Jin became cringeworthy" rude omg 🤣 everyone teasing Joonie for his Day 1 Day 1 chant the day before. Lol and at the very end, Jimin jumping onto JKs back when they are leaving the stage before giving his ending mentions to the camera. 🥺
Beijing concerts. I'm not sure what Jimin was dancing too in the middle of rehearsals but JK was loving it. Jimin was going hard too! Lol during their rehearsal break we saw Jimin cracking up laughing while filming a video of Hope, which he later posted to Twitter for us. And the way they have meetings together before every show to hash out exactly what minor things need to be changed depending on where they are performing and give reminders on how to give the best show. They work so hard it's crazy.
Beijing is where we had RM, Jin and Jimin all take turns dancing part of the Butterfly choreo to either JK or Tae singing acapella. Something they have been doing this whole tour, switching it up. But this was the iconic one where JK was watching Jimin dance with all the love in his eyes while singing
RM ended up suffering from over heating and having trouble breathing and couldn't finish the concert. It was heartbreaking but also very touching watching JK and army fill in for his rap verses and Suga take over for the speeches. They did a really good job though. And they were all so worried and concerned when talking to the camera afterwards, especially Jungkook, who couldn't even really think of anything to say, just kept looking off to the side, like he was wanting to be able to just go check on his hyung. They love each other so much. It's never the same if one isn't there.
Manila shows, end of July finally. Jikook walking to the stage with their arms around each other 🥺 and Jin is always acting the cutest on his way to their stages!
Lmao JK playing around with sunglasses and acting silly while the stylist Noona is trying to shove clothes at him and help him get dressed quickly for the encore stage. He is NOT making her job easy. Lmao these stylists all the patience of saints, I swear! The rapline hyping each other up on stage will never not get to me! And they were all so hype for the NMD dance break too!
Everyone was soooo excited by the crowds reactions. JK saying ARMY was his energizer. The hyungs all smiling super hard and being so thankful. Tae just shouting love you to the camera for army over and over. Jimin crashing his interview and jumping on Tae's back this time. Lol they were all so happy after this show!
Bangkok shows now! (160806 now). The amount of Thai food they had on a spread looked amazing and the short impromptu eat jin video we were gifted as well! Jungkookies smile hearing ARMY screaming before they go on stage 😭 Tae giving using his hand to give flying kisses from Jin and JK both. So cute
Yoongi walking off stage so tired he basically just skips saying anything to the camera. 😭 someone let him take a nap soon! We also see the staff taking JKs mic off and him holding his arm like it hurts. Then when Jimin comes up while he is talking to the camera to give him a back hug, he knocks his arm a bit and JK is obviously in pain. Jimin then practically forgets all about the camera, trying to figure out what happened and what hurts. While JK spends just as much effort trying to pretend he is fine and to distract Jimin from it, including teasing him and when Jimin says he is getting old going, but you are only 22? Lol before they walk off together. I'm sure Jimin did not forget about his arm and wanting to find out what happened either. It was cute the way JK wanted to not worry him over it though.
Toyko tour stop! Hoseok, our dance leader, scolding JK for not properly checking his in ears and sending him off to fetch them again. Lol I love that side of Hobi too. Jimin spent almost this entire video with black hair, and is now back to blond for Toyko! And Yoongi has darker auburn type of hair now!
Hobi dancing to JK singing Tomorrow this time! And TaeJin dancing to Fire! And Jin is letting the whole "Nikonikoni" thing GO. Lmao TaeJin are sitting back stage with their arms around each other and Jin is STILL going on with "Nikonikoni" into the camera and during when he danced Fire. Lmao is this where Tae picked it up from for his iconic line in the middle of Attack on Bangtan that sent Jimin into a laughing fit so hard he missed his lines to sing after that? 🤣🤣
Day 2 shows everyone preparing to get on stage, stretching all serious. Captions "everyone relieves stress in their own ways" cuts to Jin acting a fool and big smiles all silly. Lmfao Jimin walking up behind him watching him with the fondest smile, and trying not to laugh. And JK practicing the choreo the same exaggerated way with Namjoon walking up behind him with a smile and then a nod to the camera 😂
Taes voice during Boys with Fun will always be one of my favorite things! Plus his improvised dance moves that the rest of the group then copies afterwards! And Tae being RMs biggest fanboy during his Save Me verse!
Jin and Tae hanging out under the stage waiting for their cue to enter, Jin blowing kisses to Tae and Tae rapping along with the verses above.
The way that everyone encore stage included Miss Right where they passed out little merch balls from baskets, throwing them into the crowd was adorable. Even more so watching them skip around stage with the baskets and half the time someone ended up wearing said basket on their head when it was empty. Lmao surprisingly, it was usually the rapline who wore the basket hats so proudly!
The utter CHAOS that broke out right after Hobis ending mentions to ARMY and Otsukare started playing and everyone went crazy on stage dancing and jumping around to it. Lol just for RM to bring it back down after a bit with being the last to give his greetings and making everyone cry saying "we would have no most beautiful moment in life without you." And Jimim giving his backup dancer friend a big hug when they all came out before everyone joined hands for the final bow😭
Hobi ending the DVD off with a super sweet speech about the tour admist all the staff cheering like crazy for the members so sweetly.
And that wraps up Memories 2016! This was amazing and their hardwork, as always, is so highlighted and soooo admirable. One of my favorite things was seeing Namjoon greet ARMYs in their language everywhere they went. The dedication he has in making everyone geel welcomed and special is so beautiful. In conclusion, I love them. Thanks for letting me share my thoughts! 💜

2021 is finally over! thank fuck!! and in celebration, i've got some end of year posts for you! first up:
favourite stylings, part one!
i've been keeping track of all comebacks i've really liked this year and i've broken my favourite stylings into two posts, because why not, and also so i could do a first half of the year and a second half of the year, since there's a lot. there's so many. i've broken this up into three categories:
- best overall styling (this includes everything, both the mv and the music show stages)
- runners' up (this is my 'halfway there' category; where most things were strong but not everything was totally cohesive)
- standout element (this is for those things that make you go WOW in an otherwise plain or uninventive stage or mv)
now this isn't a totally comphrehensive list because i'm only human and i miss stuff, and nor does it reflect my favourite choreos or even my favourite songs, music wise. it's just a list of the stuff that i thought that looked the best this year! oh and before i forget, it goes from jan to end of june, and i counted by official comeback date and not by how long groups promoted for, because there was a bit of overlap in the summer.
are you ready? let's go!
--
best overall
a.c.e: fav boyz
youtube
i'm breaking my own rules right off the bat but whatever, it's my list. although not technically a full comeback because they didn't promote it, but i'm going to cheat a little and tie it in to the rest of the goblin styling because holy shit. i am so enamoured with not only the styling for the remix but the styling for goblin in general like really, how does any other group do a hanbok or a cyberpunk concept after that? how? i'm also cheating a little because this is my actual favourite styling from the first half of this year and i'm peeved that it came out in JANUARY. and if you haven't already, treat yourself to the goblin mv.
+
woodz - feel like
youtube
i wish i could accurately describe how obsessed i am with everything about this comeback. the americana theme. the exaggerated silhouettes with the shoulderpads and the square toed shoes. the accessorizing that also included utilizing his hip tattoo. his hair. the guitar. everything about the mv and the stages are perfect. best picks: inkigayo 210411, inkigayo 210321, inkigayo 210404, the show 210323, music bank 210319, music bank 210402.
+
woo jinyoung - happy birthday
youtube
the great thing about about watching music shows and following multi update blogs is that you sometimes find weird little gems and this was one of my favourites this year. i fully forgot he was the winner of mixnine but i'm glad he got a solo debut! aside from the obvious craziness of the patterns, i'm very glad that his stylist did not hold back on using the structure and cut of the garments to play around with his silhouette, especially since he's not very big. all too often there's not a lot of consideration paid to changing the shape of bodies as there's a lot of complexes about weight and size, so this was nice and fun to see. highlight stages: mcountdown 210610, music bank 210611, show champion 210616, the show 210615, show champion 210623, mcountdown 210617.
+
hyuna - good girl
youtube
i love how hyuna uses fashion and i don't think i've been disappointed visually by anything she's put out. i love the way colour is isolated and used as geometry; there's a limited palette and not a lot of crazy patterns because the emphasis is on how the eye understands the physical shapes that the colours make. the intro shot of her head through the pool table is a great example: she's surrounded by round shapes (the billiard balls) and human heads are round, so in order to draw the eye to her and add visual complexity to the frame they fan her hair out behind her and use her hands to make an extension of her face, so she isn't just a round head. a good way to see how all the shapes are working is to watch the mv really small, like this embedded version. you lose the ability to see all the high definition details and it really shows how clear and precise all the decisions are. and even though there isn't a lot of patterns the garments are still visually interesting; there's a lot of unusual cuts and combinations that you can really notice in the stages: inkigayo 210221 (where she uses the white of the safety shorts AS a highlight element, same with mcountdown 210218, and music bank 210219.
+
onf - beautiful beautiful
youtube
as we know i'm a huge sucker for scifi concepts and i love this (continuing universe? i don't follow onf close enough to know) one from them. it's got the perfect blend of realistic and stylistic elements and it's really just a joy to watch. onf have a really phenomenal vfx team working with them because this is some of the best vfx that i've ever seen in kpop, especially because there are very few on location shots here. there's so much care here in the production design and the styling fits perfectly into the world they've created. everything about it is fun to watch and the stages are the same, although mcountdown 210318 is definitely my favourite. i miss them already :(.
+
taemin - advice
youtube
are you surprised? yea i thought so. it's a crime that there was only three stages for this (four if you include the one during the ngda concert), but also taemin was so busy during those few weeks up until his enlistment that i'm also glad there was only three. i have a full post about advice in the works so i won't prattle on too much here, but i'm so in love with the styling for this. if you had told me that this was going to start a loverboy trend in kpop i would NOT have believed you but oh am i reaping the benefits. best (and only) stages: inkigayo 210523, music core 210522, mcountdown 210520, ngda stage.
+
a.c.e - higher
youtube
i wrote a very long post about why i love higher here, i love this comeback very much. would have been nice to have seen them go a little more evil with it a la cix's jungle, but that's a very minor complaint. i don't even know why groups are even doing teaser photos anymore, there's just no way to top these:
why does any boy group make teasers anymore? what's the point?you literally cannot do better than this. my favourite stage is unquestionably the show 210622, where jun tries desperately to escape his shirt. ok well and also inkigayo 210627.
+
hyuna - i'm not cool
youtube
i hope no one is surprised that hyuna made it on here twice. i ranked good girl higher because the geometry is so clear and beautiful, but i love i'm not cool as well, because it's got a similar theme of colour consistency even if it is more busy. same praises apply: love the cuts love the colours love the hats and hair and headpieces. hyuna is also a great example of how to style your backup dancers well and interestingly without sacrificing and pulling attention away from the artist. favourite stages: literally all of them but mcountdown 210128, mcountdown 210204, inkigayo 210207, music core 210206, music core 210130, music bank 210129, and this collab stage from later in the year where she just covers herself in glitter.
+
iu - coin
youtube
you think i can resist iu in a suit??? who do you think i am?? look at her!!!! she may have only done two music show stages but there's also a 1thek special clip and i am clinging to them desperately: music core 210327, inkigayo 210328, 1thek special clip.
+
bambam - ribbon + pandora
youtube
this is a double feature because he promoted them at the same time, but this was a very strong solo debut from bambam and i was very impressed by not only the production value but also the understanding of colour and cut of garment. bambam is notoriously the fashionista and 'flexer' of got7 and has a very strong taste for luxury branding, but the way that he worked with his stylist here shows a really impressive use of silhouette. the suits for ribbon are all designer but they're all really alternative cuts and have very experimental tailoring, and shows that he isn't afraid to get avant garde with it. same goes with pandora; he could have easily gone with something more boy group-typical like a straight suit or athleisure look, but instead he went for the alternative silhouette. ribbon favourite stages: the show 210622, music core 210626, inkigayo 210627, mcountdown 210617. pandora favourite stages: the show 210622, show champion 210623, mcountdown 210617.
--
runners' up
epik high - rosario
i might be the only person in the world that does but i LOVE vertical mvs, and this one is SO slick looking. the shapes of the physical spaces match the shape of the frame and its such a small detail but oh it makes so much of a difference. it's not the most loud or spectacular mv in the grand scope of kpop but every so often i pull it up and watch it because it is so stylistic and satisfying. again, hate that this came out in january because it really set my standards high.
+
yunho - thank u
it's not every day that a veteran kpop idol produces a bona fide short film with veteran actors as an mv, and the dedication and care that yunho put into this is obvious. it has sharp (literally) and deliberate imagery and it's extremely well produced. it's easily one of the best produced and best looking sm mvs of this year. the stages are good and i do like the styling of the bside eeny meeny, but it's the mv that really shines.
+
cix - cinema
my nuclear grade take about cix is that they have exactly the aesthetic and energy that hybe wants their groups to have, but cix actually has character and good music. cinema is exactly what boy with luv thought it was and no i am not taking questions. the mv feels and looks expensive without losing the character of a group from a small company; like a.c.e they are extremely good for pulling bang for their buck. the stages are cute and the styling for them is fine but the colour palette for the mv is so beautiful and everything is so well blended i could cry. plus it also helps that this is one of my favourite title tracks from this year.
+
hoshi - spider
it may have just been a digital release but i'm very glad he got to perform a couple special stages of it at least, because i love spider. it may also be a bit of a taemin clone visually but there's so many good ideas here. i don't love everything which is why it only made runner up for styling, but boy you better exhaust that hybe money when they give it to you again.
+
a.c.e - down
another vertical mv, and this one capitalizes on the phone/social media format; it's the right about of cute and fun and captures a.c.e's natural idiocy in the best ways. also this is probably the best english release from a kpop group? also they included some b-roll that includes jun seriously lipsyncing while giving chan fake mouth to mouth and honestly, what more do you want than guys being stupid (affectionate)?
+
sunmi - tail
although i LOVE the choreography for tail and its probably in my top fave choreos of all time, i wasn't that impressed with the styling for the stages themselves, especially because the mv has so much more variety. where did those rose pauldrons go???? and the faded blue hair??? and of course that velvet bodysuit.......... also here's a post of me talking more about it.
+
woosung - lazy
of pandemic bottle mvs i think this is probably my favourite. it's very well designed and the palette is really crisp and well matched. although it is obviously very manicured, everything flows very smoothly and feel very natural. the integration of the dance elements and the verse feature in the form of tik tok was a really smart choice and actually grounds the dance within both reality and the 'reality' of the mv, which makes it the second mv on this list to do that. and i love the 'snap' at the last chorus.
+
highlight - it's not the end
2021 really has been the year of second gen comebacks and i am living for it. this is actually one of my favourite songs (musically) from this year, and i really love how highlight have maintained that second gen vocal sound while updating the production. there's a lot of sophistication and polish in the imagery and the design, including a lot of art + photographic references that link with the literal frame device and the gallery theme. the stages are perfectly fine, but the highlight (haha!) is the mv, and this music bank set.
+
i.m - god damn
another good pandemic bottle mv. i love the gritty and stylistic nature and the imagery is not at all what i would have expected from an idol. this was a super strong solo debut from changkyun.
+
baekhyun - bambi
obviously there are no stages for this because baekhyun dipped like the day it dropped but oh man do i want to see that hat choreo in more detail. it's not an overly complicated mv but the way they shot the choreo and the visual feel of it overall really match well with the song and i legit gasped out loud when those fireworks lit off that tunnel.
+
kang daniel - paranoia
it may be a taemin clone but at least kang daniel has the budget to pull it off. there's a lot of really good outfits here, including the bodysuits, the corset, that long cape, and the harness. there's also some good imagery in the mv and it's very well produced, but the stages are a bit lacking.
+
wayv - kick back
i've said this before about wayv, but you can literally throw anything at them, including a mess of loud patterns and they'll pull it off. the first set of concept photos are gorgeous, and i think my favourites are kun's supreme ribcage bomber, ten's crop sweater over leopard print over purple corduroy pants, and this particularly cunty inkigayo stage. they didn't promote that much and i don't particularly like the choreo, but it is my favourite stage for the cunty ten. i wish he had kept his long hair......
+
mirae - killa
this is so strong for a debut mv and it has a lot of interesting concepts hiding in the imagery.
--
standout elements
shinee - fake reality teasers, don't call me
ahh, don't call me, my beloathed........you started out with so much promise and you cocked it up so badly. i would literally kill someone to have an mv as good as this fucking mood sampler. it's my goal in life to shoot a photo as good as that taemin one. also the comeback schedule???? the fact that they had an active phone line with voice messages??? it was SO SO SO cool and i'm SO mad none of it ever followed up. i've complained about dcm before so i won't start again, but i look wistfully at these teasers and this one music core stage and think of what could have been........
+
oneus - xion's face cage, no diggity
there's a few really good looks in this mv, and i'm a big fan of giving the tiny twink a flamethrower, but this?
filed immediately under 'outfits that made me gasp out loud'.
+
victon - byungchan's suit, what i said
look at it!!!!!!
it's perfect. i want it.
+
ateez - fireworks
the reason wooyoung got the nickname malibu ken
+
dreamcatcher - odd eye
i like the odd eye stylings just fine but these two stages inkigayo 210131 and the show 210202 really stood out to me.
+
itzy - this ryujin look, mafia in the morning
nothing else to add.
+
shinee - atlantis music bank 210416
atlantis in general has pretty good styling and i like the colour grading in the mv quite a bit (and minho's tiger stripe cardigan), but this stage is definitely the standout from the repackage. the set is gorgeous, i LOVE minho's floral tailcoat and taemin's whole purple prince look.
+
shinee - code music core 210306
i'm a sucker for a good plaid and a well cut suit. there's a lot of really nice tailoring details on these suits, like the cuffs on taemin's cropped jacket and key's double width waistband. there's also a lot of really nice jewelry and accessorizing. it's not overly flashy, but it is a very nice looking styling.
+
wjsn the black - easy 1thk special clip
i'm sure you guessed that this was gonna make it on here somewhere because 1) women and 2) suits, but there wasn't enough variety in the stages for me to really get behind it. i do however, love the styling from this 1thek special clip, i wish they had kept with this and gone with more diverse cuts and colours among the girls for the actual stages.
+
blitzers - breathe again inkigayo 20210523
the pants. just the sheer variety of what's happening with their pants. also the fact that they all have cropped hoodies. also also that they just flip one of the members around as part of the choreo for no reason. i love boy group debuts they're always so silly.
--
ok that's a wrap on the first half of the year! i don't think anyone will be surprised by this list haha, i feel like i'm very predictable. but i'd love to know what your faves were this year! send them in!
#end of year posts#kpop analysis#oh god im not gonna tag every group here theres so many. maybe just the top ones?#a.c.e#woo jinyoung#hyuna#onf#taemin#woodz#bambam#iu#ok i guess i could tag them all but i'm lazy#i'll make a tag on the analysis page that has all of these so they'll be easier for people to find later#part two is tomorrow!#text

exam season ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ ni-ki
“you aren't wasting my time, and you need rest. please, ___ this isn’t healthy.” riki pleaded, and he seemed so genuinely concerned for you. “I know we’re labelled as rivals all the time but I want to get to know you better. as someone who ranked 1 consistently, I wanted to meet the one person who managed to achieve the same thing."
or
you and nishimura riki are rivals under the same company. after all, being the same age and pretty much the same level of talent made you and him quite unstoppable. the company thought it’d be a good idea to let you two meet and get along, but it turned out to be quite the opposite ordeal. though, this always remained to be a respectful rivalry. nothing petty.
warnings : overworked reader, insecurities, fainting from exhaustion, hints at negative body image ( good ending )
note : this is also off the top of my head, please ignore any mistakes !
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ rest under the cut
what were you supposed to think?
you had to admit it to yourself though, similar age and practically same amount of skill in dance would mean that this unit would be pretty much unstoppable. it’s just ;; the unspoken consequences of young teamwork at play.
training for about half a year at belift, you’ve become quite popular among the trainees. they describe you as a dance prodigy. if you were going to be honest, it was kind of embarrassing. the spotlight was okay depending on the circumstances but, to be described as something so honorable made you feel like you weren’t worthy of it. on top of that, your vocals were always stable while practicing, making you stand out and always place #1 on exams.
and so you started to practice harder, with the same thought of
‘i have to prove that i’m worthy to be labeled as a prodigy, otherwise why else am i here?’
to ni-ki, you were always so hardworking. sometimes, he thought it was too much. he’d pass by the room you were practicing in during lunch breaks and he would see you dancing your heart out, sweat threatening to fall from your face. he could tell you were tired, but due to the rules, he wasn’t allowed to talk to you. he considered you his opponent in a way, but it wasn’t to the extent of ruining your workflow.
and to you, ni-ki seemed like a charming rival. the way he danced had always mesmerized you, his snaps and swift moves are always close to perfect. this motivated you to practice even harder, despite already achieving extreme skill. you often nitpicked on yourself and keep saying that you’re not doing something well enough, and that you’re not good enough and you have to try harder. you honestly thought he was kind of annoying. not only is he literally so tall, he's a dancing machine. everything that you wanted to be. ni-ki may have been your unspoken rival,
but overcoming your extreme feeling to be better than the previous day is your true rival.
coming home after training, you were always exhausted. as much water you drank, it never felt as if it quenched the thirst you brought upon yourself from working so hard. while doing homework you always zoned out, your concentration nowhere to be found. at some point, you even stopped messaging your friends as much as before, ignoring any notification that popped up and practicing till the sun peeked above the horizon.
this feeling of wanting to slip away into well-deserved rest never sat right with you.
'if I have time to do something, then I'll do it now. rest can wait.'
---
the week before, an exam was assigned to all the trainees. the exam was to be separated by gender, but you thought this was kind of dumb. and so what did you do? you asked the choreographer if you could take both of the choreographies instead of being categorized into one section.
"that's a great idea, ___! I'll allow it this once, since you always rank 1 anyways. in fact, why don't I ask riki if he wants to do an co-op exam with you? you guys are the same age right?"
all you could do was let out a hum and nod.
'nishimura riki... I hope I don't mess anything up.'
"he always ranks 1 in exams as well so I think it'd be perfect!" he continued, a bright smile flashed across his face at the realization of a great performance in development.
he walks off, and briskly walks to where riki usually practiced.
phew
you let out a breath you didn't even know you were holding. you've done many exams before but it had never been with another person. trying to convince yourself everything would be okay, your intrusive thoughts came in again.
'what if i embarass myself? what if I can't learn the choreo and mess everything up? what if he doesn't like m- wait. that doesn't even matter- ugh.'
you stood there for so long thinking to yourself about the future that one of the trainees had to tap you on the shoulder to make sure you didn't see medusa or something. repeating your little sorries and thank yous, you left the practice room and went on your way home.
you'd think that after weeks of non-stop overworking you'd hit your limit by now. the thing is, you never learn your lesson until you have to learn it the hard way. and that's exactly what's gonna happen.
---
back to the present, riki was currently doing a run-over of what he thinks you guys should do to make the choreography better. if there was one thing you and him had in common, it's that you always wanted to be ranked 1 through hard work.
however, you disagreed with some of the steps he created, and respectfully asked if you could show him what you were thinking of. in all honesty, riki was quite impressed. he'd never seen you dance up close since all he was able to do was take quick glances, but seeing you pour your heart into what you love and being absolutely great at it, it kind of gave him the feels.
yes. the feels. the butterflies. 🦋🦋🦋
though, in the next moment, butterflies was far from what he felt. his stomach did a full 180 and his face in such a shocked state as he watched your eyes roll back as your body practically shut down in front of him. he sped down to your side quickly and shouted for help, as he tried to shake you awake.
"please please wake up, I'm not sure if you'd wake up at all if you fell asleep so please..."
was the last faint thing you heard before slipping into unconsciousness.
---
beep , beep , beep
your eyes flutter open to reveal that you were in the nurse's office in the same building. to say you were relieved was an understatement, hospitals scared you a lot more since they'd have to call your parents.
looking around the dim room, it still resembled a hospital room, monitor, needles, riki, IV, wait. riki?
your eyes practically shot back to where he sat, head bowed down in an awkward position, closed eyes with phone in hands.
honestly speaking, it was kind of cute. but you knew it was uncomfortable. and you also felt SUPER guilty making him wait for you and practically ruining practice. he stirred a bit, easy to wake up due to the uncomfy position his neck was in.
in a couple of seconds you hear him ask, "___? you're awake?"
"riki.. what happened?"
"the trainer, our choreographer and the building's medical team were all here. they said that you were overworking yourself. not only that, you didn't eat, drink, or sleep enough. which I can only assume is because you're constantly practicing."
"... I'm guessing that has to be true then, if I'm already here. riki, I'm sorry."
"sorry for what?"
"for wasting your time. you didn't have to be tangled up in my mess if I wasn't an idiot and asked them for a different exam. we could'v-"
he cut you off, “you aren't wasting my time, and you need rest. please, ___ this isn’t healthy.” riki pleaded, and he seemed so genuinely concerned for you. “I know we’re labelled as rivals all the time but I want to get to know you better. as someone who ranked 1 consistently, I wanted to meet the one person who managed to achieve the same thing. you didn't disappoint me, you didn't waste my time, in fact, it was fun watching you disagree with the things I said. but then you fainted in front of me. I had no idea what to do, but thankfully Jungwon-hyung came in and helped me. but all that aside, your body needs rest. I've talked too much."
"it's okay, your voice seems to be making me sleepy anyways."
he didn't know whether to take that as a compliment or an insult.
you handed him a spare pillow from your bed though, so he'll just take it as a compliment for now.
he didn't know what took over him in the next few seconds but he slowly put his phone in his pocket and reached his hand out to you, his hand resting on the bed right next to your waistline. as if it was beckoning you, your hand gravitated towards his, and the warmth of his hand and his comforting presence was enough to lull you back to sleep.
---
all the trainees in the floor were gathered in practice room #1, awaiting the announcement to see who got rank 1.
of course, they were expecting you and riki, but not together at the same time.
"nishimura riki, ___ ___. rank #1"
you and riki looked at each other in excitement, you could do nothing but listen at the moment, but celebration was in order later.
celebration? oh did you mean cuddles, making sure you're rested well and eating okay, hand holding, and a whole lot of light-hearted teasing? yeah.

Hi!! Could I request mashup with txt? I really like reading, painting and crafting. I'm a little bit of a nerd and I love that. I'm very confident and like to meet new people. Somtimes things I do could give someone a secend-hand embarrassment, but I think it's okay as long as I can make someone laugh. My mbti is ENFJ-A / ENFJ-T and it is really correct with me. I always wanted my partner to be playfull and sensitive, because emotions and good reletionship with them are really important to me. I don't have much preference for my partner's character as long as they are good for people, if I fall in love with somdone I just accept them as they are.
I hope it is enough description! Could you also include a short playlist?
Love ya <33
@margoniezniez
i match you up with…
txt’s beomgyu!
✧・゚: *✧・゚:* *:・゚✧*:・゚✧
you thought that baking a cake with beomgyu would be fun.
and oh, it definitely was: just not in the way you expected.
“y/n, is this the sugar? oH nevermind it’s the salt,” he coughs after tasting some.
you cant control the laughter that escapes your lips.
“yeonjun really wasn’t lying when he warned me that you can’t cook, huh?” you ask with a grin.
beomgyu scrunches his nose in response, and playfully smacks you on your arm.
“hey!” you glare at him, trying your best not to crack a smile. “if you don’t behave yourself, i’m gonna make the cake mint-chip flavored!”
“why would you even say that?? that’s horrible,” he pouts while folding the batter together.
meanwhile, you roll your eyes at him while cracking an egg into the bowl. so focused on trying not to get any shell in the bowl, you fail to notice the boy sneaking up behind you, and caging you in with his arms.
“hi,” you whisper, turning to see an adorable smile on his face.
“hi,” his smiling spreading wider. “oh, you have a bit of flour on your face. let me get that for you,” he reaches out to brush it off your face, only to smudge half-mixed batter all over your nose with his thumb.
“YOU LITTLE- BEOMGYU!! COME BACK HERE,” you screech while chasing him around, bowl of batter in hand.
panting and out of breath, you finally manage to corner him. before he can begin to beg for mercy, you stick your index finger in the batter and swipe it all over his forehead.
you really don’t mind how crazy you must look, because you’re having lots of fun.
and so, the two of you chase each other around the kitchen making a massive mess and smearing batter all over each other’s faces. it’s in your hair, on your clothes, all over the floor, anywhere other than where it’s supposed to be, but you couldnt care less.
about an hour later, you finally ran out of batter to fling at each other. out of exhaustion from sprinting around in your full-out food war, you crash into beomgyu’s arms. he cards his fingers through your hair in spite of the batter coating it, smiling to himself.
you look up at him, and gently press a kiss to his lips.
after a moment, he pulls away to whisper an “i love you”.
so yeah, baking a cake with beomgyu was definitely not how you expected it to go, but it was great nonetheless.
playlist!!
forgive me for the sheer amount of cliche, but i really get cute, classic love song vibes from you guys. i can totally imagine a cheesy love song playlist blaring while you two are baking your cake, while you goofily lip-synch and dance around to it.
blueberry eyes- max ft. suga of bts
what better way to start a cheesy love playlist than with blueberry eyes? it’s such a wholesome cute song, and lots of fun to dance to hehe
electric love- børns
another CLASSIC love song. i picked this one because every moment you spend with him, it feels like electricity—theres never a boring moment. you two never get embarrassed by each other, and are the actual definition of power couple. you do what you want with confidence, and don’t care what others think.
cloud 9- beach bunny
i think this is just one of the cutest love songs, and is such a bop. lip syncing this with him, bopping around, just vibing. it also has a bit of a faster tempo and upbeat feel, so it’s even more fun to dance to!
blue hour- txt
okay if i’m making a cheesy love playlist about a txt member, how could i not include blue hour?? that would be a crime. and no thoughts, just learning the choreo with him, and hearing him sing his part impeccably.
stuck with u- justin bieber & ariana grande
last but not least, i took this off beomgyu’s spotify playlist. i think it’s a perfect way to wrap up this mini playlist, and a cute way to represent your relationship :>
thank you for requesting this! it was lots of fun to do. i hope you enjoyed!!!
wanna request a matchup? here are the rules!
#ahh i’m so soft for this#oh to bake a cake with beomgyu#txt post#kpop matchups#tomorrow x tomorrow#tomorrow by together#beomgyu#sabs matchups <3

The Gwara Gwara and BTS - a love story.
The Gwara Gwara. Not an easy step to get right. Easy to get wrong. Easy to disguise that you are. It's a non-dancer public friendly step because of this.
You should be putting the majority of your weight on the leg that is moving, the straight, stationary leg acting like a balance point. The movement is actually supposed to come from the hips in a rotation movement. It's the foot and shoulders that move to the naked eye though so most people create the movement there. It can still work, but it won't be as good as it could be if done correctly. The shoulder movement is intersting. There are no real fixed rules as such for them, but the best way to get a handle on the step is to start with having the arm opposite to the moving and weight bearing leg still while moving the same side arm. The movement is a rotation one again and is from the shoulders. But that is just one version. Generally speaking your arms can do just about anything you want as long as the movements are in tune with the rest of the step. To sum up: weight on moving leg, movement driven by the hips in rotation manner, shoulders and arms relatively free to play with.
Let's look at each member (in dance line order):
J-Hope: He is unquestionably doing it the best technically out of the boys. His weight is clearly on the moving leg. And you can see how the entire movement is originating from his hips which are rotating perfectly. His arms are doing what the IDOL choreo calls for show casing his extraordinary skills at isolation and control, his shoulders are driving the arm movement with rotations, he even throws in some popping. It's a clean, crisp gwara gwara. He possibly could loosen up a tad bit more in the shoulder movement, but I don't think that is the way their choreogrphaer has choreographed it possibly so as to enable all members to execute the step and also to enable fans too. Also, you have to bear in mind this a group choreo, having 7 members being too loose and free for this step in the placement of the dance it is in would look very messy and not be pleasing as a whole. To sum up: a technically perfect, clean and crisp gwara gwara, very impressive.
Jimin: I actually would have said on paper he'd be marginally better at it than Hobi, however he's struggling a wee bit with this step. His biggest issue is where he's placing his weight. It should be mostly on the moving leg, but he's actually placing the on the stationary leg a lot of the time. At best, he's got his weight in the centre. This makes it difficult for him to produce the movement from his hip rotation. More of his movement is being driven from his mid back and shoulders, particularly his shoulders. His upper body is actually moving quite well, nearly better than Hobi, but his lower body is hampering his ability to execute the step overall well. If he spreads his legs a bit more and changes where he places his weight, it will help him and he could possibly have a gwara gwara as good as Hobi's. However, looking at the group perspective he would possibly stand out too much because he would be doing it in a freer manner if what he is currently doing is any indication. And though that would create an individually good gwara gwara, it would not aid the group dance. To sum up: he needs to put his weight on his moving leg, he needs to clean and crisp up his upper body movements, has the potential for an really good one if he does.
Jungkook: He is also struggling a bit like Jimin and like Jimin he is disguising it well, actually he's disguising it better than Jimin. This is possibly because his issue is one he has a lot so he has learned a lot of tricks. Tricks in dance are not a bad thing, far from it. The only bad that can come from tricks is if you become too dependent on them and stop trying to solve or at least lessen the problem. But I digress. Kooks is also putting too little of his weight on the moving leg. The majority of his movement is driven by his mid to upper back and shoulders, not his hips as it should be. Kooks lower back is not the most flexible, he's learnt ways of compensating for it over the years and often does a very good job of it. He's very good at disguising it. Here he is doing a pretty good job of doing that, but it still looks off balance. If he adjusted his weight with his ability to disguise his lack of flexibility in his hips and particularly his lower back it would end up being a pretty good gwara gwara. To sum up: he's putting his weight in the middle too much, he is doing an adequate job of disguising his movement being driven by his mid back and shoulders, but it could be a much better gwara gwara if he shifted his weight, fitting quite well into overall group look despite all this.
4. Yoongi: his gwara gwara is an odd one in that it is both good and bad. Technically it's a bit of a mess, but stylistically he's doing a pretty good job. Yoongi always is a bit unfinished in his dancing, loose, and that suits the gwara gwara. However his struggle with the stance and technique with the hips makes the overall effect look messy, rushed almost. He is also not fitting with the group overall look because of his looseness/messy style. His issue isn't with his weight thoigh, he has that quite well distributed. His issue is with his hips. His movement is being driven by is leg not his hips or shoulders so there is little to no rotation going on. This makes it look even messier. To sum up: despite his good weight distribution, his movement is driven mostly by his leg instead of hips so he has little rotation. He needs to rotate his hips and tighten up his overall movement to fit more into the group look.
5. Tae: his weight distribution is better than both Jimin and Jungkook, but like Jungkook, Tae's lower back is not The most flexible. In fact his entire back is not very flexible. To be honest, Tae is very inflexible apart from his natural turnout. But he lacks control of that turnout which also affects his control over his hips which isn't that great. However, here, though he isn't producing a huge amount of hip rotation, he is producing some. He is substituting it with shoulder movement though which then makes the step less well executed. If he lessens his shoulder involvement he will have a better gwara gwara. To sum up: his weight distribution isn't great but not bad, a bit more weight on his moving leg and less shoulder involvement in his hip movement and it will be pretty good gwara gwara. He needs to tighten up the step a bit from a group overall look point of view.
6. Jin: Jin has good hip and back movement. His control has been an issue over the years, but he now has pretty good control of his spine and hips. He can still struggle with control over his limbs, but here he doesn't have that problem. His weight is correctly placed, he is driving the majority of his movement from his hips not his shoulders, you can tell he's had instruction from Hoseok and is following them to the letter. He is being safe within the step though. He needs to relax into it a bit more, but he is actually doing a better job technically than either Jimin or Kooks. To sum up: his basic technique is good, he is driving the movement from his hips, he is keeping well within the choreo so keeping well within the group overall look. If he relaxes more into it it will be a good gwara gwara.
7. Namjoon: Much like Jin you can tell he has had direct instruction from Hoseok and has taken it all on board. He has his weight correctly distributed, his movement is being driven more by his hips than his shoulders-those Pilates classes must be working since his back is looking a lot looser these days. He is a bit more relaxed in the step than Jin, but like Jin he is still playing it pretty safe. A bit more trust in himself and it will improve greatly. To sum up: he has his weight well distributed, most of his movement is coming from his hips, he is keeping well within the group overall look, he needs to trust himself a bit more and he will have a good gwara gwara.
So, Hoseok has the best, then Jin and Namjoon with Kooks, then Tae and Jimin and Yoongi marginally last. Overall as a group pretty good gwara gwara. Room for improvement which will certainly come for all of them as the tour progresses.

Argh...hmrfp...🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
1st: I am afraid OP didn't see all of his competitive programs...because how can you compare R&J from his beginning to Seimei or Let's go crazy, Parisienne Walkways with Chopin Ballade or Origin and Hope and Legacy???? How is this in any way repetitive? The choreo sequence is the same for years that is true, but ever heard of trademark moves? Every skater that has a trademark move uses them and if they don't fans wish for them to bring them back, so actually no need to create a new choreo sequences if it fits the music and theme and it always did.
2nd: yes he repeats programs and though I do like to see new programs for Yuzu, he always stated reasons. He - contrary to other skaters - strives for perfecting his programs and this takes time. (Then let's not forget that his recent return to his old programs was due to time management and btw he is far from the only one returning to old programs and not even counting injuries that definitely played a part to repeat a program, let's not forget it)
3rd: Younger skaters take Yuzu as a rolemodel (even coaches, oldee skaters they all praise Yuzu and take him as a rolemodel). And that you change programs often doesn't make you a better skater or more versatile. Tbh we have enough uncreative programs you don't need a repeat to be uncreative...
4th: There are many factors for PCS slipping. One is mathematical. He almost received perfect PCS back in GPF 2015, so the only way is down. There is a limit. Another reason for the past seasons is the new PCS cap rule that makes judges mandatory deduct PCS (and if you would look closely you would see that he mostly received the allowed maximum or even more). And don't let me start on the thing that Yuzu is treated to a higher standard than everyone else because of the perfection he showed with his world records, because of his name, because of the pushing of some of his rivals etc.
5th: He achieved so much because of his dedication to perfection in this sport. Because he always strived to be the best, he never rested on his laurels. No matter the obstacles he constantly pushed the sport to other levels. He is THE rolemodel every skater strives for and that's not an opinion that's a fact.
Such confessions trigger my nerves.
“Yuzuru's programs, and even his choreo sequences, are so repetitive they've become a paint by numbers situation. It's crazy that he's skated so long and achieved so much without actually doing a steady stream of new programs. It's not a method that I can see younger skaters wanting to emulate without fear of being labelled uncreative. Maybe this is why his PCS is slipping.”

Momoka is not very pretty why do everyone like her it's more girls in Japan that look way better than her and if she's gay she needs to come out and stop beating around the bush with it. I don't see the hype about her I can't get into it Sae and Sayaka could make better ikemens than her she doesn't have anything special that catches my attention.
“It’s not okay to make a hurtful comment about people just because they don’t reach your own standards.” - Amber of f(x)“I know that you don’t said hurtful comment but for me this is the base of everything because everyone judge people under their own standards.First, for me is totally ok that you don’t think Momoka is pretty because like a person said "You only can judge a person (if she is pretty or not) over you own standard” so if in your standard scale She is not pretty for me it’s ok.
So you ask me why everyone is so hyped about her, I’m gonna give MY reasons because I can’t talk for all person outside everyone had their own reasons.
1. She is authenticShe doesn’t tried to be a perfect idol.. da hell she even tried to.. a lot of member just fake her voice, attitude, fashion because they are idols so if they want to be popular need to fake (This is not in ALL the cases) a personality but Momoka doesn´t ever tried she is original and of course when she need to performance like an idol she tried to fit a little.
2. She is a GREAT performance in theaterHave you see her performance in team M stage? She is beyond awesome. She is energetic, funny and talented. Every single stage her aura is amazing also is not boring to see her because a lot of member only do the choreo moves but momoka also make moves diferents or a little different (not just for be diferent it’s also to make it more entertaining). I can compare her performance with Yuko, Tano and Murayama Yuiri because they give us more that we expect.
3. Varienty personShe is hilarious because she soesn’t care about the idol imagen and make the incorrect joke (for an idol) in perfect time. So everytime she talks is sooo funny and you know in Osaka is very difficult to stand out also is a great improviser.
4. She is kind with her juniorsShe hates that her juniors talk about this but because is not a senbatsu, majority of time she is in theater so she take care with them. A lot of kks said this. She could be crazy but caring.
5. She is a talented creative personYou can see that her “theater Yuri” was a mini master piece (of course it was envolving by little) because She writes, directs and acts, or maybe when she makes the calendar last year that was amazing.
6. She has a very clear goalYou can see that majority of members doesn’t have one that’s why everyone is so confused and feel uneasy but Momoka know what’s she wants. Yes for more of us is “weird” that her final goal is “Make a lot of money in her young and adult young year because she wants to be a NITTO (person who doesnt work or study) after 30’s” for me is a valid goal because now She is working hard.
With a goal is more easy to keep forward that’s why she keep going doesn’t matter why.
7. She come out?First she come out a lot but entertaining world thinks she is just joking so that’s not her fault. Also She can do it so literally ´cause she is an idol, respect idol’s rules and yeah she can scream out “IM A LESBIAAAAAAN” but if you look her closer is so obvious or at least is bi (this is my opinion, of course a could be wrong)
8. About the ikemen thingShe is ikemen in private clothes like Sae (Both dresses boy/male clothes), FOR ME she looks good in boyish clothes and her hairstyle is amazing but if you don’t like it’s ok. I know person who doesn’t like ikemen Sae and Sayaka because again “Everyone has her own standard beauty for men and women”
In resume, Momoka is more like a craziest girl in 48G, she is an oustanding person who catch everybody attention (even souchan takahashi love her) because she is autenthic, talented and creative also because she fights for be herself everyday in this idol world but aldo nmb’s staff little by littla let her to be more open in her actitud but she is respectful with idol’s things also.
Like in the last ANN’s with nmb’s members she was the only one who says “I think it’s not ok to talk about this here (they are talking about underware)” So she knows to be respect and polite also.
We need more of this members for the people who doesn’t appeal to much about the perfect idol’s image like me, we prefer the crazy’s one. I prefer a lot outstanding person like Momoka, Sayaka, Sae, Shimada Haruka, Tani Marika or Yakata Miki.
Like a I said before you don’t need to force to like her because everyone has her own taste so If you think that under your standards she is not pretty or does not catch your attention is ok since this is your personal opinion.

So, naturally, someone has to ask you about onlyoneof's comeback. The whole thing has me incredibly confused. Firstly 8 songs were teased but only 4 released? Is this album actually supposed to be a prerelease? And then conceptually....the teasers weren't very coherent and the mv and song are just so strangly detached from each other? To be fair libido was also detached but the mv was coherent with itself while the skinz mv feels like it didn't have a core direction. The tech opening was great but then the pov section hit and just....idk the whole thing lost its plot. I will say the what I've seen of the choreo fits the song well, I just don't get how something that was openly a libido sequel felt so off when the material was right there.
I loved the outfits for the first stage, junji's jacket was fantastic. Someone said they were serving second gen and while I don't think they went that far I do love the copious and copiously cheap leather. I'm certain they'll release another guilty pleasure version that's just the choreo and I really wanna see the whole dance.
I love the three bsides we got I'm just so beyond confused on how they straight up dropped only half of the tracklist. That and the MV being super cheap genuinely made me wonder if the full comeback hasn't actually happened yet but there's just no news of anything like that so...??????
I actually do like skinz in the same way I liked libido- neither song appealed to me at ALL at first but infinite's the chaser made me make a two listen rule because I also somehow hated that song on first listen. On second listen...the 10 seconds of opening with the guitar that fades into the instrumental is SICK. I wish the guitar was more present in the song other than little pop ups here and there. It's def a weird song and the weakest of the 4 we got but also feels very derived from libido and sage. I think it could've been a great noise music song and I can hear what they were trying to do with it I just can't figure out if it's too empty or too crowded.
What are your thoughts?
oh this is so long! thank you!!
yea the whole comeback has been a bit scattered but honestly i think it's probably a money thing more than anything else. we know they are actually capable of doing full scale concepts since all their previous cbs have been more typical; i suspect they really took a hit domestically with libido and the fact that they doubled down instead of switching concepts to something that was less socially 'risque'. it's obviously a gamble they were willing to make in order to be their weird little indie boy selves and i applaud them for it. they've clearly got enough support to keep the lights on and if that lets them keep making music than i'll take some sacrifices.
as far as the mv goes, i don't actually mind it? well, i do mind it, but let me explain. i hate watching it because pov type stuff skeeves me the fuck out, but i also think they did that on purpose. the fact that they likely had a much smaller budget this time around means that they had to do some very creative problem solving to get a cohesive mv, and this is a perfect example of limitations breeding creativity. i think they're playing at something really interesting by reaching into the space of the whole voyeuristc fan experience and superimposing it with a 'storyline'/such obvious inter-group connections. although libido was decidedly western tinted, it still fell within the production standards of what we expect from a kpop mv. despite there being a rise in 'authentic' content from idols, there's usually a very clear distinction between 'performance' work and 'extra content', of which we see a visual distinction that usually comes down to things like rehearsal/casual clothes, tech quality, filming locations, etc. so even though the skinz mv ticks all the boxes of being easy-to-film cheap casual content, i don't actually think it is. there's a couple of really good vfx shots, there's two different aspect ratios, a lot of the shots are very purposefully framed, and the pov aspect, obviously. the fact that they all get into a company car but there's not a manager driving, and there's no accidental shots of staff at all, which all tell me this was a storyboarded and intentional mv. because of the high standard of production, a kpop mv presents an idol as a 'character' in a sense; they aren't wearing clothing they would usually wearing, they're in an artificial setting, and they aren't really 'acting' like themselves either. they're dressing up for work, yanno? customer service face etc. so by purposefully breaking the clearest visual boundary between 'work' and 'casual', skinz is directly questioning those boundaries. where exactly is the line between what's 'performance' and what isn't? how much do we see as fans and who are we to tell if what we're seeing is 'real' or not? it's a really interesting mv concept. not entirely sure it was totally successful, but it got there for me.
it is annoying that they only dropped half the tracklist and it is 100% my villain origin story but addy (@hoforwonho) told me that re-bido was a cd exclusive, which makes me think that the rest of them are as well. and i don't blame them for trying to drum up money any way they can. i'm just glad gaslighting was in the tracks they dropped for streaming because it was the one i was most excited about from the previews and it fucks supremely. ultimate bliss is also really good but gaslighing is my fave by far.
in terms of the actual title track itself, i LOVE the guitar and i think the instrumental has good bones but i don't like the vocal line (not the people, the actual melody+lyrics+arrangement) at all. i think where you're getting the too empty/too crowded from is that the vocals are doing a LOT and the instrumental is kinda bare under the guitar riff, but they're not working together at all. it bothers me less in the studio recording but the chaos is really obvious in the performances. i think i can see where they wanted it to go but it didn't make it all the way there for me, even if i can understand why it was meant to be offputting.
#kpop questions#onlyoneof#ooo w#in terms of the song not matching the aesthetics of the mv i think it was again them going for something as disarming as possible#like the lyrics that they do have in english are so........hm. well. 'wiggle with this parasite' sounds fuckin gross. personally#and we know they can write good english lyrics#in gaslighting there's 'grab me when im teetering/everything is being mirrored by your handling' which FUCKS#plus with the nails scraping sample. i think skinz was just mean to be offputting#also pretty sure the whole pov thing was intentionally meant to be unsettling. like looking into something you weren't supposed to#like i think it was directly confronting the whole weirdness of a bunch of dudes singing a love song to one person thing about boy bands#yanno?#like theyre really really directly beating at the whole celebrity/fan relationship thing#like i cannot imagine a larger group doing something like this it really is SO direct#like i thought maniac and cant control myself were on the nose but these boys really went the extra mile#i also want to see a stable cam of their choreo. i really love the ending pose a LOT#im sure one of the music shows has one up by now#text#answers
