rewatching with the benefit of distance from the actual viewing - it really is so loud at how much tommy treats buck like a child - like literally every single interaction they have in 805 is like a parent talking to a child.

Combined with the shows decision to have Tommy call Buck 'Evan' all the time, feels like they're really trying to convey that this is the relationship equivalent of Buck's childhood and young adulthood - before he became Buck. When he was figuring out his place in the world and who he wanted to be. Its very much feeling like in combination its leading up to him getting to the same place in his bisexuality as when he started at the LAFD academy and changed his name to Buck - that he will make the choice from a bisexual perspective to become Buck and leave Evan behind once more.

eddie makes everything weird, like not in a horrific way, but like instead of joining his boyfriends on the couch cuddling like he wants to, he just stares with cow eyes at them from across the room cause hes second, triple, quadtriple guessing himself

buck and tommy are just waiting to see if he'll actually come over by himself this time. especially since they're on his couch

the new video from oliver and ryan on the 911 set is making me think thoughts. I saw someone say that they are on madneys terrace and I don't know if that's true. I have bad memory. but what if buck and eddie get invited to maddie and chims house for dinner and they just keep acting like boyfriends the entire time. like full on love-dovey stuff. and maddies just staring at her brother like you just broke up with your ex bf at least try to act broken hearted about it. and chim isn't even surprised at this point bc this is just every day for him. and maybe we get a maddie eddie scene where they connect and talk about chris or something. that would actually be so beautiful. I WANT IT!

i know we've gotten eddie's side of things by virtue of him being a main character and shannon being a character in his story, but please for a second can we remember that before shannon's frontal lobe was finished developing she got pregnant, got married, lost her partner to the army without warning, went through a traumatizing birth, had her son diagnosed with cp, and had to deal with all of this in an in-law environment that was Less Than Ideal without a support system of her own separate from her husband

and then her mother got CANCER and was dying alone in another state and when shannon told her husband she wanted to move closer to her to take care of her he had the audacity to ask for TIME when her mother was DYING

and THEN after she made a horribly painful choice to leave her son so she could spend her mother's last months with her she finds out her husband moved to the very city she begged for them to move to bc of a job he could literally have Anywhere

shannon made some questionable choices i'm not saying she didn't but bestie no WONDER she wanted a divorce. the man she married was a stranger and the few concrete things she knew about him by s2 were not conducive to love. eddie was and is a great father but he was genuinely a horrible husband, and the fact that shannon could recognize that and choose herself is incredible to me.

As a buddie endgame truther that also ships bucktaylor S5 makes me so mad bc what the hell were they even doing. They shut down buddie. Ok. But then instead of building up bucktaylor as the endgame couple they literally just spent the whole season trying to prove why they don't work. So like what was the point. You're throwing away both endgame possibilities for Buck at once. The two developed love interests. Literally why. I can understand pushing bucktaylor bc buddie wasn't allowed, I can understand breaking up bucktaylor bc buddie was going to happen, but my mind literally cannot comprehend not doing either bc it makes no sense at all. Were they just hoping everyone would immediately fall in love with Lucy as soon as she showed up and forget the love interests that had actual development? No really bc that's the only explanation I can think of and it's just so foolish. Like bro did you really believe that was going to happen? Really?

I love that Omega!Eddie has been getting some love recently, but have we as a society considered the potential of Omega4Omega Buddie? Like their heats sync up after only a few months working together which sucks for the station to be out 2 firefighters for a couple of days but it means they quickly become nestmates/heat buddies. Which is considered normal for omegas, it's just seeking comfort in someone who's going through the same thing it doesn't mean anything more than that even if they both secretly really want it to mean more than that but they're both too scared to say anything cause if they say it and the other doesn't reciprocate then sharing heats would become weird and neither can take the idea of losing that connection so they say nothing. A pair of pining idiots in love who roll around in a nest together multiple times a year but are convinced they can't have more than that. They figure it out eventually though.

Okay now this. This is some fucking big brain shit. Yeah I love this idea. Mostly because it plays into some buddie dynamic stuff I already love AND I'm a big fan of non-traditional omegaverse stuff and omega×omega would be part of that.

For those who don’t want to read the entire mamoth post I made - here is the highlights.

We’ve had it wrong this entire time - Tommy isn’t meant to be Eddie lite at all (I mean there are elements of that for sure as we’ve discused since Tommy reappeared) he’s actually a version of Buck - he represents the unloved part of Buck (except by Maddie) - the child Buck was - Evan (which is why Tommy keeps calling him Evan!).

My big post goes into all the costuming choices and lines in the script that point to this and that this is an arc about buck learning to love himself now he’s been reborn after his death - so that he is ready for Eddie.

Tim is so deliberate in his use of words and both in the script his use of words like exhausting, and comfortable are so intentional - this is about buck actually listening to his inner voice and becoming comfortable with himself.

Eddie will be ‘out in the cold’ because he can’t go on this part of Bucks journey with him - buck has to do it alone.

But essentially it’s all a set up for buddie!

Eddie stood on the side, racking the slide of his favorite gun to make sure there were rounds in its chamber. “You ready?” he called out with a grin. He adjusted his side strap to make it tighter, putting the gun on its holster.

“I am,” replied Buck, coming out of the bathroom in full gear. Eddie’s breath hitched. Draped in sleek black, his attire hugged every contour of his body like a second skin – a one-piece uniform, with a bulletproof vest on top. He wore a side strap that mirrored Eddie’s, crisscrossed his torso, with a belt boasting twin holsters – as well as thigh ones adorning each leg. Three pockets filled with extra ammo and knee pads completed the look. As usual, he sported his combat boots, holding the balaclava in one hand.

Eddie nodded, grabbing the silver dagger from his ankle strap and playing with it absentmindedly. He did that every time he was consumed in thought. Buck thought it was pretty, the way he would scar his fingers with the tip and never once wince.

Nothing fandom-related has ever brought me more fear than the concept just introduced to me by an edit of Buddie to “set fire to the rain” bc the line “even now when we’re already over” at the GRAVEYARD SCENE???? When Buck tells Eddie that Natalia sees him more than anyone one else (basically) and Eddie looks pained? THAT SCENE makes me so afraid that Buddie is just going to become a missed opportunity love trope bc Buck never got his act together enough to realize that he’s in love with his best friend who is RIGHT! THERE! Before the s6 finale, I was 100% convinced that Eddie was already aware of his feelings, and a lot of that was because of what the entire graveyard scene was but holy shit if Eddie KNEW but couldn’t say anything bc he realized Buck didn’t know/didn’t feel the same anymore??? pain SO MUCH PAIN what if what if what if
