Y'all gone hate it here.
Diavolo and the boys have been turned human while in the human realm, cause unknown, and they just so happen to be in Florida with a southern MC who has to babysit while Barbatos and Lucifer search for a way to reverse it:
The boys holding a fruit they found: These look delicious!
They go to take a bite, but MC interrupts them: BOYS! Where did y'all get those?!
Startled, they nearly drop the fruits, turning to see an irritated MC.
Diavolo: What's wrong?
MC: Now, dadgummit, have y'all eaten them yet?
Mammon, confused: No...
MC: Throw them away right now.
Beel: But it smells really good...
MC: That is from a manchineel tree.
Belphie: And?
MC: That fruit is called a manzanilla de la muerte.
Levi: You speak spanish?
MC: I went to public school. I didn't have a choice.
Belphie: But what the hell does it mean?
MC: Uhh, "little apple of death." Boys, y'all are human for the moment, so the entire tree will kill you. It's the most dangerous tree on the planet.
Asmo: What?
MC: The fruit is toxic, the sap is toxic, the bark is toxic.
Satan: and their native to Florida?
MC, exasperated, hoping Barb and Luci will return soon: Yes. The sap is so poisonous that the smallest contact can cause horrible blisters. It can cause you to go blind, so can the smoke if you choose to burn the bark. You can't even stand under the dang tree while it rains in case the raindrops collect any sap on the way down.
Mammon: Well, why can't you just eradicate them?
MC: Oh, honey, their endangered! We protect 'em.
Levi: What? You protect a killer tree?
MC: Well, they fight beach erosion.
Satan: So what happens when there's a thunderstorm and you're beside this tree?
MC: You stand out in the storm I guess.
Diavolo: That doesn't sound safe at all.
MC: Oh, it ain't cause your close to lightning alley too.
Asmo: Excuse me? Lightning Alley?
MC: Mhmm. We see the highest frequency of cloud to ground lighting strikes more than any other area in the continent of the United states.
Satan: So you're telling us we have to choose between the reverse tree of life and electrocution?
MC: Oh, welcome to Florida, baby. I believe I told y'all before the Devildom is a vacation from this fine state. Y'all gone hate it here.

Sending a death note prompt for L!
A oneshot that's a bit of rewrite of L's death. Instead of the whole task force being in the room, what if it was just L and Light? What would Light say out loud in those 40 seconds? Would L be able to say anything in return?
Take ur time finishing it! Thank you!!

——————————————————————
♡ - Thank you for your submission!
I hope this is okay. I wrote this on my phone, so there may be spelling errors or weird formatting.
——————————————————————
The rain had stopped some hours ago, but the scent of it lingered — metallic, like blood not yet dried. Inside of the head quarters, two figures remained: L, hunched in front of the monitors, and Light, standing beside him as though he was carved from something ancient and godless.
Light's eyes — brown, almost too perfect — watched L with a calmness that rang too still, too clean. L met them for the first time, but not in question, but instead in the quiet erosion of certainty.
He knew, of course. But much too late.
L’s eyes — those dark, watchful eyes — had locked onto Light's in return. Not in suspicion, but in that same habitual fixation he had when he afforded every possibility. But tonight, the silence hung differently. Not the quiet of two minds locked in play, but a hush that preceded ruin.
A small smile curved onto Light's lips... It was subtle, that smile. A tension unspooling in the corners of his mouth. L felt it, not on his skin, but in the marrow of his bones — a chill, as though something sacred had been defiled in a quiet, precise way.
“You were right about me,”
Light murmurs, no other explanation to his words really needed. That one sentence was all L needed to hear to understand. Even so, he tilted his head in return, a slight twitch betraying his otherwise still form. A small hum escapes Light's lips at noticing L's slight tilt, so he continues in a whispering tone.
“All along, you were right. It’s almost insulting how close you came at times.”
The sound of a clock ticked behind them, a dull and quiet sound — deliberate and unkind.
Thirty-four seconds.
L’s lips parted as if to speak, but no sound followed. Only his eyes moved now —studying Light, not as a rival, not as a friend, but as something else entirely. Something colder. He saw it all now: the absence of doubt. The hollow where Light’s humanity should have been. The revelation came not like a lightning strike but like the tide — slow, enveloping, impossible to stop.
“I knew you’d suspect until the end,”
Light's voice was silk. Patient.
“You clung to it like a dying man to the edge of a dream. It was pathetic, you know. Watching all of the effort you put into the case..."
The ticking of the clock continued like Light's voice was doing, cruel. L heard it in his blood. Thirty four seconds is not a long time. But it is long enough to be buried alive inside one's own mind.
L's breath came slower. His spine straightened slightly as he whispered:
“You’re Kira,”
It was not an accusation. It was not even revelation. It was the mourning of a man who’d glimpsed the abyss, and found in it the mirror of his own pursuit. Light didn’t answer. He didn’t need to. His eyes, once full of ambition and youth, were eclipsed—still bright, but lit from behind with something detached and certain.
Twenty-two seconds.
Light moved closer still, casting a long shadow over L’s chair.
“You don't have long left,”
he announces quietly, the words like wet leaves pressed against stone.
“But you deserve to know. You deserve to feel it.”
And L did feel it.
The tightening in his chest, not just of death, but of betrayal from his first friend. The unspeakable truth clawed its way up his spine. This was not justice unmasked, but evil in its purest, most surgical form —charming, articulate, and yet... victorious.
Ten seconds.
L’s breath shortened. He leaned forward slightly, not out of control, but instinct — as if proximity could grant him answers in those dying moments. He saw Light’s eyes clearly now. Not madness, not rage, but conviction. The kind only the damned possess.
Three seconds.
A tremor passed through L’s fingers. Not fear. Not pain. Not even his own death. Grief.
He opened his mouth again. This time, a sound escaped — just a whisper, brittle and slow:
“Light…"
The words didn’t accuse. They just mourned.
L’s gaze lingered. Not on Light. Not anymore. But beyond him.
He thought of all the names, all the faces, all the silences that had led to this moment. He thought, perhaps, that this was always how it was meant to end—not in grandeur, but in the quiet treason of a man he trusted.

for halsin, loving astarion…
it’s like trailing after a comet or standing in the eye of the storm and it’s the urgent gush of blood, so hot and thick between your fingers and it’s when it rains sideways and it’s the erosion of mountains to make way for glaciers and it’s the lightning that strikes in the desert and leaves sheets of impossible glass behind, opalescent and luminous and deadly if broken too fine;
loving astarion is the process of nature, the turning of seasons - inevitable and unpredictable, welcome and relieving; it is the unknown of a new landscape and the familiarity of the earth he’s bled across for over three hundred years
loving astarion is the only course his heart knows. it is his nature and it is his to nurture
he knew so little of wonder, before
and he has so much yet to discover, now

SpaceTime -- A brief history
SpaceTime is Australia’s most popular and respected astronomy and space science news program – averaging over two million downloads every year. We’re also number five in the United States. The show reports on the latest stories and discoveries making news in astronomy, space flight, and science. SpaceTime features weekly interviews with leading Australian scientists about their research. The show began life in 1995 as ‘StarStuff’ on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation’s (ABC) NewsRadio network. Award winning investigative reporter Stuart Gary created the program during more than fifteen years as NewsRadio’s evening anchor and Science Editor. Gary’s always loved science. He studied astronomy at university and was invited to undertake a PHD in astrophysics, but instead focused on his career in journalism and radio broadcasting. Gary’s radio career stretches back some 34 years including 26 at the ABC. He worked as an announcer and music DJ in commercial radio, before becoming a journalist and eventually joining ABC News and Current Affairs. He was part of the team that set up ABC NewsRadio and became one of its first on air presenters. When asked to put his science background to use, Gary developed StarStuff which he wrote, produced and hosted, consistently achieving 9 per cent of the national Australian radio audience based on the ABC’s Nielsen ratings survey figures for the five major Australian metro markets: Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth. The StarStuff podcast was published on line by ABC Science -- achieving over 1.3 million downloads annually. However, after some 20 years, the show finally wrapped up in December 2015 following ABC funding cuts, and a redirection of available finances to increase sports and horse racing coverage. Rather than continue with the ABC, Gary resigned so that he could keep the show going independently. StarStuff was rebranded as “SpaceTime”, with the first episode being broadcast in February 2016. Over the years, SpaceTime has grown, more than doubling its former ABC audience numbers and expanding to include new segments such as the Science Report -- which provides a wrap of general science news, weekly skeptical science features, special reports looking at the latest computer and technology news, and Skywatch – which provides a monthly guide to the night skies. The show is published three times weekly (every Monday, Wednesday and Friday) and available from the United States National Science Foundation on Science Zone Radio, and through both i-heart Radio and Tune-In Radio.

JTTW: Demon Strike Back X Demon Slayer Part 2:
・ ・ ・ ・ ・ ・ ・ ・ ・ ・ ・ ・ ・ ・Now, My friend gave me better ideas for the pilgrims' breaths, more personalized with their powers and personalities. ・ ・ ・ ・ ・ ・ ・ ・ ・ ・ ・ ・ ・ ・
Sun Wukong: 《Divine Monkey Breathing》
Battle Style: Combines agility and precision, evoking quick and precise movements inspired by a divine ape.
[Techniques]
First Form:《Golden Sky》Sun Wukong moves at breakneck speeds, allowing him to hit the enemy multiple times before they can react.
Second Form:《Ruyi Strike》A powerful strike using her magical staff, which extends and crushes her opponents from long distances.
Third Form:《Celestial Mirror》 A defensive technique where Sun Wukong uses reflections to create illusions of himself, confusing enemies. [Yes, inspired by Muichiro Tokito]
Fourth Form: 《Dawn Awakening》An explosive attack with Wukong's staff. With lightning speed, he delivers multiple strikes in an instant, as if channeling the first glimpse of dawn. The movements are almost impossible to follow, with bursts of light shining as the staff moves.
Fifth Form: 《Midnight Sun》Sun Wukong creates a blinding flash as he launches his staff at high speed, using the light as a distraction before appearing behind his opponent to attack. This move plays with the enemy's perception, making them believe they are in the dark when the real danger comes from the light.
Zhu Bajie: 《Breath of the Divine Boar》 Battle Style: Wild and destructive, Bajie moves unpredictably, charging at enemies with great force.
[Techniques]
First Form: 《Mountain Charge》A direct charge that devastates everything in its path, crushing demons with its brute force.
Second Format: 《Fury Unleashed》Bajie enters a state of frenzy, increasing his speed and strength at the cost of his own stamina.
Third Form: 《Mountain Impact》 Bajie swings his weapon with overwhelming downward force, as if he were crushing his enemies with the weight of a mountain. The blow causes the ground beneath his feet to shake and crack.
Fourth Form: 《Underground River》 A defensive technique, where Bajie uses his strength to deflect attacks by stabbing his weapon into the ground, creating a shockwave that knocks his enemies backwards. This technique can block almost any attack and stabilize its surroundings.
Fifth Form: 《Earth Erosion》Bajie strikes the ground with such force that it causes seismic movement, causing the earth beneath his enemies' feet to crumble, collapsing its stability. Opponents lose balance, making them easier to eliminate.
Sandy/Sha wujing 《Breath of the Mystic River》
Battle Style: Fluid and adaptable, his movements mimic the currents of the river, allowing him to attack and defend with calculated elegance.
[Techniques]
First Form《 Smooth Flow》Sandy moves like water, dodging attacks while counterattacking precisely.
Second Form 《Overwhelming Current》A continuous attack where its blows mimic a flood, overwhelming opponents and trapping them in a flurry of blows.
Third Form: 《Whirlpool of the Abyss》 Sandy spins his weapon at high speed, creating a whirlpool of water around him. This defensive whirlwind repels attacks and flings enemies back. Centrifugal force can disarm nearby enemies.
Fourth Form: 《Choking Tide》A more aggressive technique in which Sandy surrounds her opponent with quick and accurate movements, attacking from all directions as if the enemy were being swept away by an uncontrollable current. As the technique progresses, the pressure increases, suffocating the enemy.
Fifth Form: 《Storm of the Immortal Ocean》 In his most powerful form, Sandy summons a storm of aquatic energy that surrounds him as he attacks. Each blow launches blasts of water that hit with the force of a destructive wave, devastating everything within reach.

'Fulgurites, long, branching mineral structures, are formed by lightning strikes hitting the ground, especially in sand or soil rich in quartz or silica, at temperatures of 18,000°C or more. This intense heat, radiating through mineral debris, flash-melts the minute particles into a smooth, glassy surface encrusted in solidified rock and sand, often in the shape of the bolt that passed through, and reaching lengths of up to thirty meters or more, though usually broken in smaller fragments and uncovered by erosion as surrounding sand blows off, exposing the bizarrely-shaped structures up from the ground.
Such formations are considered sacred and holy items to the plainmanes, whose culture reveres lightning, known to them as the "roaring sky-light", as a source of fire and life. Still unable to create fire for themselves yet well aware of its usefulness, the plainmanes thus depend on storms and lighting strikes to bring them their fire, which they then keep sheltered in small firepits within natural caves or dug-out dens to keep them burning as long as they can. With the importance of lightning to their daily survival, and their understanding of its deadly power yet bringer of vital flame, the fulgurites are seen thus as "lightning incarnate" and are revered as relics and totems in their local tradition. While they regularly gather around spots where fulgurites, or "stone-bolts", abound, often in a belief it brings them good fortune, it is considered forbidden to touch, take or break any of them--with such an act considered sacrilegious to them and their vandalism the most surefire way to make an enemy of most, if not all, plainmane tribes.'

It's easy to hate on our humanity but as I learned to love God I've learned to love my humanity as well.
When you look down at your body, you may take it for granted. But God's thumbprints are on every single one of His creations, and we are not an exception.
When you're hurt or in pain or sad, God has given us the gift of crying, releasing comfort chemicals in our brain to help us. God gave us laughter for our joy and humor and if we need to cope with something.
God gave us the ability to create, with our thumbs and fine motor skills and the brain to imagine it. God gave us autoheal (the body's system is INSANE and I could go on and on about it) God gave us a world that can see total eclipses and put us at the perfect time to see the stars at when the universe was exploding and full of beauty, God gave us strange but wonderful anatomy that looks like no other, God made us out of love and He gave us a world made of love and He is still with us!!! We are loved by Love!!! This isn't just "Oh God loves a lot" through the Bible we learn God is Love. Love is eternal and all encompassing and will never die.
Of course some could argue that our beautiful bodies are only due to mindless evolution, but... I'm not convinced. Evolution explains some things, but not others. Evolution is an explanation for late in the game when we were evolved enough that life was successful enough to have the resources for evolution. Evolution doesn't explain how the small and weak and few could survive long enough to become stronger. Evolution doesn't explain sentience. Purely blind evolution is as farfetched as a computer being created from erosion and lightning strikes.
Oh and can we talk about Jesus? About how God of the universe died the death of peasants and one so evil there was a superstition among some Jews that those who died in such a way couldn't be raised from the dead? How God was persecuted by those who claimed to love Him?
Ok I'm cutting this off bc this wasn't meant to be a full on praise post but as I continued I couldn't help myself, you know how it is with God. He has so much to adore.

Bart isn't sure that he's human in the same way Ed and Tim are. He's not even not-human in the same way Jaime and Gar are; nor is he blessed with the godly touch of the Greek pantheon the way Cassie is. Cassie breathes ash and ozone. She blazes like fire, and an exhaled breath and a clenched fist burn fourth degree. She is iron-tasting bloodshed and violent chaos-- screams shouted from the rooftops-- righteous fury incarnate, and it shows in the way fire licks at the back of her throat.
Bart isn't that, though. He's not anything; he's just here. Vibrating insanity. Lightning strikes a tree in the middle of a field, and that's Bart. Mountains are leveled by a thousand years of erosion, and that's Bart. Rome fell; Earthgovernment rose; people died; people lived; and now there is Bart. A piece of a wider, wilder whole, broken off and given life. It's kind of like the stories, he thinks, staring at his reflection in the glass. His eyes glow like neon lightning, illuminated golden acid yellow.
It's kind of funny. It's like Max said: when a speedster dies, the world mourns. But the words can't hold the truth of Bart's memory. The way the sky cracked open, and from the wound poured eternity. Boundless, electric forever, screaming and lashing at the ground below. He laughed when Wally died, because it was just so funny. It was funny how the ground shook and that moment-- that tiny utterance of a picosecond-- stretched on forever. How it existed simultaneously at every moment that any being has ever breathed with life and burned calories in order to move their heavy flash sack bodies.
Bart remembers lightning; and he remembers screaming; and he remembers the smell of blood; and he remembers watching the breeze fly past him, a smear of black on the wind, too fast for him to see. He remembers the way Wally clawed at the soil as that shadow dragged him off into eternity. And he remembers laughing.
We all come from it, and we all will return to it, Max told him.
Rushing ants on their tiny anthill. Termites in the wood. Bees in their hives, crawling over each other. That's all they are. That's all anything is.
What had Klarion called it? The Vastness. Capital V. It owns them. It holds them. It breaks off pieces of itself and gives them names, and then sets them down like little dolls in their tiny, utterly tiny dollhouse. It blinks wide, nonexistent eyes at them and watches with baited breath as they live. As they run. As they eat and scream and cry and laugh and sing and die. As they die. As Wally is dragged into forever, his fingers leaving claw marks in the dirt, his screams bubbled with blood.
Bart misses who he was before he knew what the world looked like when it was mourning the death of a piece of that vastness.

Rawnsley Park Station
Flinders Ranges
South Australia
2022
19th to the 21st of September
Storms we’re passing over the dry Lake Torrens National Park lake bed and heading directly towards us while we were hiking the Arkaroo Rock trail up to the base of Wilpena Pound. The thunder from that location was eerie so we hiked back just in time for the rains to come down.
The thunder was extremely loud by the time we made it to camp and the lightning was close and striking some of the peaks of Wilpena Pound and in front of the range. The flash flooding started soon after and many other campers had to pack up and move as the water was rising pretty fast, we got lucky and stayed.
The day after had flood debris and damage visible on the drive back to Hawker, trees on the roads and new erosion beside the paved highway. Wilpena Pound was covered in low clouds on the drive out which looked really nice.

7 Reasons for Costly Repairs in Trees
Trees are a valuable part of any landscape, providing shade, beauty, and environmental benefits. However, improper care, environmental factors, and natural ageing can lead to costly repairs. With tree services Sydney, understanding the causes of tree damage can help homeowners and property managers prevent expensive fixes and keep their trees healthy for years to come.
Improper Pruning
Improper pruning can cause costly repairs in trees due to several factors, and one of them is weak branch structure. Incorrect cuts can lead to weak branch attachments, increasing the risk of breakage and the need for corrective pruning or even removal. The increased possibility of its unstable growth is also to be of concern. Topping or excessive trimming can lead to unbalanced growth, making the tree more susceptible to falling during storms, resulting in potential damage to property and costly repairs. Proper pruning by a certified arborist helps prevent these costly issues and ensures the long-term health and safety of your trees.
Storm Damage
Heavy winds and rain can snap and break large branches, leading to cleanup costs and potential damage to property. Also, strong storms can cause trees to fall over completely, requiring full removal or replanting. Lightning strikes or heavy wind pressure can split a tree’s trunk, which may require bracing or removal. Hail or debris impact can strip bark, exposing the tree to disease and pests, requiring treatment. Flooding and soil erosion can weaken tree roots, making the tree unstable and needing reinforcement. Do not forget that fallen or leaning trees may damage electrical lines, leading to costly emergency services.
Pest Infestations
Pests create openings in the bark, allowing fungi and bacteria to infect the tree, leading to rot and decay. Insects like termites and borers weaken tree trunks and branches, increasing the risk of breakage. Root-feeding pests, such as grubs and beetle larvae, compromise root stability, making trees prone to falling. Defoliating insects reduce a tree’s ability to photosynthesise, leading to slow growth and increased vulnerability. Infested branches often need to be trimmed or removed to prevent further spread. Severe infestations may necessitate complete tree removal, which can be expensive
Tree Diseases
Tree diseases can cause costly repairs in several ways, often leading to damage, the need for professional intervention, and even tree removal. Diseases like Dutch elm disease or oak wilt can weaken tree limbs, increasing the risk of falling branches that may damage property or injure people. Fungal infections such as root rot and heart rot can compromise the tree’s stability, requiring expensive bracing, pruning, or removal. If a diseased tree falls and causes property damage or injury, homeowners may face lawsuits and fines.
Root Damage
Damaged roots can cause the tree to become unstable, increasing the risk of falling, which may require emergency tree removal or bracing. It also disrupts nutrient and water uptake, leading to poor tree health. Restoring the tree may require deep root fertilisation, soil treatments, or professional care. Sadly, some severe root damage can kill a tree, requiring costly removal services, especially for large or hazardous trees. Preventing root damage through proper tree care, avoiding soil compaction, and careful excavation near trees can help minimise these costly repairs.
Lack of Regular Maintenance
Without regular pruning, trees can develop weak branches that may break during storms, leading to property damage. Without routine inspections, diseases can go unnoticed, spreading to other trees and requiring costly treatments or even tree removal. Without proper thinning, trees can grow too close together, leading to competition for resources, weakened trees, and costly removals. Lack of maintenance can result in trees receiving too much or too little water, leading to stress, disease, and potential death.
Chemical Exposure
Chemicals like pesticides, herbicides, and industrial pollutants can seep into the soil, weakening root structures and leading to tree decline. Treating contaminated soil or replacing affected trees can be expensive. Remember that harsh chemicals can burn leaves and bark, leading to defoliation and making the tree more susceptible to disease and pests. Restorative treatments and pruning can add up in cost. Preventing chemical exposure through proper handling and environmental awareness can save money and preserve tree health in the long run.
Tree care is an investment, and neglecting proper maintenance can lead to costly repairs or even tree removal. By understanding these common causes of tree damage, homeowners and property managers can take proactive steps to prevent expensive fixes. Regular inspections, proper pruning, and professional consultations can help maintain healthy, long-lasting trees while avoiding unnecessary repair costs.

6 Warning Signs Your Tree Might Be Dangerous
A strong, healthy tree can provide shade, beauty, and value to a property. But when a tree becomes unstable, it can pose serious risks to people, structures, and vehicles nearby. While some tree issues may seem minor, certain warning signs should not be ignored. Recognizing potential hazards early can help prevent costly damage and unexpected emergencies.
Cracks or Splits in the Trunk
A tree’s trunk is its main support system. Deep cracks or visible splits can indicate internal weakness, making the tree more likely to fail during high winds or storms. While minor imperfections in the bark are common, large fractures can be a sign of decay or disease. If a tree on your property has significant trunk damage, consider reaching out for tree service in Medford, MA to assess its condition.
Dead or Hanging Branches
Dead branches not only diminish a tree’s appearance but can also become dangerous if they break and fall. These limbs often become brittle over time, increasing the risk of snapping unexpectedly. If a tree has large dead branches hanging over a house, driveway, or walkway, trimming them can reduce the chance of accidents. When multiple branches appear lifeless, it may indicate deeper health issues.
Leaning or Shifting Position
A tree naturally growing at a slight angle isn’t necessarily a concern. But if it begins to lean suddenly or shifts significantly over time, it could signal instability. A tree that leans more than 15 degrees should be inspected, especially if the ground around its base appears lifted or cracked. If the tree poses a risk to surrounding structures, tree removal in Medford, MA may be the safest solution.
Weak or Exposed Roots
Roots play a crucial role in keeping a tree upright. When they become damaged due to construction, soil erosion, or disease, the tree’s stability is compromised. Signs of root problems include visible decay, fungus near the base, and soil pulling away from the roots. If a tree’s roots are significantly weakened, it may not withstand strong winds or heavy rain.
Fungal Growth or Rot at the Base
Fungi and mushrooms growing near a tree’s base can be an early warning sign of internal decay. While not all fungal growth is harmful, large patches of rot, soft wood, or peeling bark suggest that the tree’s structural integrity is at risk. Ignoring these signs can lead to unexpected breakage or collapse. Seeking professional advice can determine whether the tree can be treated or if removal is necessary.
Storm Damage or Past Trauma
A tree that has already lost major branches or suffered bark damage during past storms may be more vulnerable to future weather events. Heavy winds, lightning strikes, and ice accumulation can weaken a tree over time. If broken limbs or fallen branches are present, proper cleanup is essential. A professional stump removal in Medford, MA service can help clear away debris and reduce further risks.
When to Take Action
A tree displaying these warning signs should be evaluated by a professional. Regular maintenance, pruning, and timely removal of hazardous trees can help protect your home and property. If you suspect a tree might be unsafe, consulting an expert can provide peace of mind and prevent future issues.

Dear Celia
How might I remember everything about this town if I start to forget everything about this town?
Friend, I am afraid of loss, as everyone is.
You will not understand all of this, I am sorry, you will think I'm losing my mind when I ask this of you. Keep this letter in case someone with the initials __ contacts you, it will all make sense to him. I cannot tell you everything as it may make you think I have lost all of my faculties, finally.
That first Loss, of this kind, when my diaries were taken by the fire, has only hit my mind's forefront this last three weeks, and I think all the time. Why didn't I find other ways of safe keeping all my secrets and memories?
Yes, many of this hides between me and my immediate confidants. I hope you understand why I want to preserve like any sane person, all my life's spirals and labours. Perhaps I might benefit from learning to let these go. But for now I do not want to. Love between people is like an invisible hold. Celia, I cherish deeply all my friends and collaborators, of all different kinds, but even if between all of you kept are what one could describe as Me - love, like vinyl and printed paper, is a material liable to erosion or corruption. I know you saw this in between me and Charles first hand. So I hope you understand my fear. As well, even if I were optimistic that my liens to people would hold strength like birch, there is not much stopping an automobile crushing any one of the people my heart is tethered to.
What I must preserve, is recounts of the bizarre I cannot stop meeting in this damned town. Think of these as myths or a fairy tale, or my usual deranged dusk paper scratching. I hope my new friend from this town will never contact you. If he does, it means something has gone terribly wrong, but it will be unlikely. I think it is never irresponsible to prepare for the unlikely.
Celia, you confided in me you believe in spirits. So I will begin by telling you about the fish. In a pond near where I like to look at moss stones, there are swimming little creatures that locals assured me are dead. This greatly puzzles me. What more so even, is the cow in a field three miles from my accomodation. It died by lightning strike. An old man told me if you happened to look out your window from a house near such a field during unwell weather, the animal appears when light hits the earth.
Then there are the suspicions I have about certain towns people. I cannot put my finger on it, but I am sure there is something wrong with these people. There isn't much difference between them and the average dweller of Brownmouth, in how they look. The air around them however, if you passed them on the streets. There is just something wrong.
Once more about the animals here, something strange about them plagues me. They behave strangely and what is even more queer, is how not a soul seems to mind! Only imagine, if you will, the animals that are not insects behave much like insects, and those that don't, give me unease in another way I cannot describe.
The geese in particular, I do not like. Something about them though I cannot tell you what it is.
Other details about the town, I have written in a separate letter. That one is in shorthand. It is for safe keeping, for my friend as I have mentioned.
For you, Celia, is a jumper I knitted during my evenings of restlessness. I could always hear the evening goers under the floorboards. I would not recommend staying here if you ever came to visit me, which, I might desire greatly as I miss your company, but I cannot indulge in asking for it here as I am afraid the town - outside of the outlined abnormal - will bore you like Denny did last summer. At any rate, beware the jumper is not gorgeous like your usual wardrobe is. But it will keep you warm come winter.
Write me when you can, Celia. You are the only friend I worry might begin to understand if not the reality of this town, the effects it is having on me.
Any how, I must attend to the Inn's cat. It has taken a liking to me. I wish there were some way for me to transmit what I see of this little wonder to you. As always, you hold a part of my soul.
Your friend always, Edith

Hey Vic, isn't it cool DNA can store so much information? Apparently if you like convert its capacity for information into video, it would be years and years and years of video.
Wild. Imagine putting a movie into DNA. Or like, the entire run of One Piece.
Yes. You have a spider plant and everyone just thinks it's a houseplant but actually, you take a leaf and it's just the Dressrosa arc or something.
I don't think either of us know enough about biology to extend the bit or not sound like a fucking fork, but if we did I'd wonder how we could grow a garden and all the plants are different TV shows.
In fact, we do not know enough. Any way, we're nearly done with walk right?
Nearly. We'll get there. And it'll be worth it for the photo.
That's right. Let's keep walking.

Reliable Metal Roofing Across Alabama
Metal roofing has become an increasingly popular choice for homeowners and businesses across Alabama. Known for its durability, energy efficiency, and sleek aesthetic, metal roofing is an excellent option for properties facing the state's diverse weather conditions. From heavy rainfall and storms to scorching summer heat, metal roofs provide a reliable solution that lasts for decades.
This guide explores everything you need to know about metal roofing in Alabama, from the benefits and materials to the installation process and maintenance tips. Whether you're considering a new roof or upgrading your existing one, this comprehensive guide will help you make an informed decision.
Why Metal Roofing is Perfect for Alabama
Alabama’s climate presents unique challenges for roofing materials. With a combination of high humidity, heavy rains, and occasional hurricanes, roofs need to withstand a lot. Metal roofing is an ideal solution for these conditions due to its robust features.
Metal roofs are highly resistant to weather-related damage. Unlike asphalt shingles, which can crack or blow away in high winds, metal panels remain securely fastened even during storms. Many metal roofing systems are rated to withstand winds of up to 140 mph, making them ideal for hurricane-prone areas.
Additionally, metal roofing reflects sunlight, keeping homes cooler during Alabama’s hot summers. This energy-efficient feature can significantly reduce cooling costs, making it a popular choice for both residential and commercial properties. Metal roofs are also fire-resistant, offering extra safety in areas prone to wildfires or lightning strikes.
Types of Metal Roofing Materials
When choosing metal roofing for your Alabama property, you’ll find a variety of materials to suit different needs and budgets.
Steel: Durable and affordable, steel is one of the most common metal roofing materials. It’s available in galvanized and galvalume options, both offering excellent corrosion resistance.
Aluminum: Lightweight and resistant to rust, aluminum is perfect for coastal areas where saltwater exposure is a concern.
Copper: Known for its elegance and longevity, copper roofing develops a beautiful patina over time. However, it’s a premium option due to its higher cost.
Zinc: This eco-friendly material offers self-healing properties, making it resistant to scratches and corrosion.
Each material has unique benefits, so it’s important to consider factors like budget, climate, and aesthetic preferences when making your choice.
Benefits of Reliable Metal Roofing Across Alabama
Metal roofing offers a wide range of benefits that make it a top choice for Alabama homeowners.
Longevity: Metal roofs can last 40-70 years with proper maintenance, far surpassing the lifespan of traditional asphalt shingles.
Energy Efficiency: Reflective coatings on metal roofs reduce heat absorption, keeping homes cooler and lowering energy bills.
Durability: Resistant to cracking, shrinking, and erosion, metal roofs stand up to extreme weather conditions.
Low Maintenance: With minimal upkeep required, metal roofing saves homeowners time and money over the years.
Eco-Friendly: Many metal roofs are made from recycled materials and are fully recyclable at the end of their lifespan.
These advantages make metal roofing a wise investment, offering both immediate and long-term value.
The Metal Roofing Installation Process
Installing a metal roof requires skill and precision, which is why it’s crucial to hire experienced professionals. Here’s a step-by-step overview of the process:
Inspection and Preparation: Roofers start by inspecting the existing roof structure to ensure it can support the weight of a metal roof. Any necessary repairs or reinforcements are made at this stage.
Removal of Old Roofing: If required, the old roofing material is removed, and the roof deck is cleaned and prepped.
Underlayment Installation: A protective underlayment is applied to create a barrier against moisture and enhance insulation.
Metal Panels Installation: The metal panels or shingles are installed, starting from the eaves and working upward.
Sealing and Finishing: Edges and seams are sealed to ensure the roof is watertight. Trim and flashing are added for a polished look.
Professional installation ensures the roof is securely fastened, weatherproof, and ready to provide years of reliable performance.
Cost of Metal Roofing in Alabama
The cost of metal roofing varies depending on factors such as material, roof size, and complexity of installation. On average, metal roofing in Alabama ranges from $7 to $14 per square foot. This means a typical 2,000-square-foot roof could cost between $14,000 and $28,000.
While the upfront cost of metal roofing may be higher than traditional options, the long-term savings make it a worthwhile investment. Lower maintenance costs, energy savings, and the extended lifespan of metal roofs offset the initial expense over time.
Maintenance Tips for Metal Roofing
Maintaining a metal roof in Alabama is relatively straightforward, but regular care ensures it remains in top condition for decades.
Inspect Regularly: Check for loose fasteners, rust spots, or damaged panels at least twice a year and after severe weather.
Clean Debris: Remove leaves, twigs, and dirt that can accumulate on the roof, especially in valleys or around chimneys.
Check Gutters: Ensure gutters are clear to prevent water backup, which could lead to roof damage.
Address Issues Promptly: Repair any dents, scratches, or loose seams as soon as they’re noticed to prevent further damage.
Hire Professionals: Schedule professional inspections and maintenance to identify and address potential issues early.
Following these tips will help you maximize the lifespan and performance of your metal roof.
How to Choose the Right Metal Roofing Contractor in Alabama
Selecting the right contractor is critical to the success of your metal roofing project. Here are some tips to help you make the best choice:
Experience: Look for contractors with extensive experience in metal roofing installations and repairs.
Licensing and Insurance: Ensure the contractor is licensed and carries adequate insurance to protect you from liability.
References and Reviews: Check online reviews and ask for references to verify the contractor’s reputation.
Warranty: Choose a contractor who offers a comprehensive warranty on both materials and workmanship.
Local Expertise: A contractor familiar with Alabama’s climate will provide tailored recommendations for your roof.
Doing your research upfront ensures you find a reliable partner for your roofing project.
Invest in Reliable Metal Roofing Across Alabama
Metal roofing offers unparalleled durability, efficiency, and style, making it an excellent choice for Alabama properties. Whether you’re dealing with intense summer heat or preparing for storm season, a well-installed metal roof provides peace of mind and lasting protection.
By understanding the benefits, materials, and installation process, you can confidently invest in a metal roof that enhances your home’s value and functionality. Work with trusted professionals to ensure a seamless experience, and don’t forget to prioritize regular maintenance to keep your roof in peak condition for years to come.

Something I kinda like to do as like a world-building exercise? Is think about different conspiracy theories, take the parts that would be cool if it weren't dumb nonsense, and consider a reality where it is the case through not-dumb-nonsense means. I reblogged a post a few days ago about the exoplanet LHS 1140b and mentioned in the tags how it reminds me of the giant iceball conspiracy theory that describes the world as not being round or flat BUT as part of an enormous ball of ice with a sun warming a habitable zone on its surface that we exist in and how there is a possibility that there are other portions of this same ice ball that are also melted and habitable. It's one of my favorite conspiracy theories in that it's one of the dumbest fucking things i've ever heard but the idea separated from any true belief in it as reality fucks hardcore, so the discovery of LHS 1140b made me absolutely ecstatic.
Obviously this is kind of a hit or miss kinda thing since sooooo many conspiracy theories are white supremacist rhetoric at their core but there are ones like the giant ice ball theory where it's not necessarily unrealistic in what it posits as a whole but *is* just, overall, wrong. I'm watching a video taking apart the melted buildings conspiracy theory that describes canyons (yknow, the things made by river/general water erosion) as being caused by enormous electrical strikes that carve lichtenburg figures into the earth simply because 'they look alike'. As someone who's mad into lichtenburg figures that is a sick as hell as an idea despite the fact that it is tbh mega dumb to just ignore the existence of *rivers* as the cause for what is clearly natural erosion. The idea of a planet that was struck by lightning so huge and powerful that it carved paths out of the landscape is so enticing I get giddy thinking about it. Basing science on 'it looks like' is pretty much one of the worst routes you can take. That said there's a handful of times that pseudoscience would rip if it was instead just concepts from a sci-fi novel

Emergency Tree Removal: When and How to Act Fast?
Trees provide beauty, shade, and value to properties, but there are times when they can also pose significant risks. Whether due to storms, disease, or other hazards, trees sometimes need to be cut down completely quickly to prevent damage or injury. In this blog, we will explore the signs that indicate an emergency tree removal in Gisborne, how to act fast, and why hiring a professional arborist is essential to get the job done safely.

When a Tree Needs an Emergency Tree Removal?
Trees don’t typically pose an immediate risk, but in some situations, they can become dangerous and require quick removal. Let’s break down some of the common reasons you might need emergency tree removal services.
1. Storm Damage
After a major storm, trees can damage severely. Heavy winds, lightning strikes, or even hail can cause branches to break, trunks to split, or roots to become unstable. If a tree is leaning or has broken limbs hanging dangerously close to your home, vehicle, or power lines, it’s time to act and call a professional for tree removal in Gisborne.
2. Diseased or Decayed Trees
Diseases can weaken trees over time, making them more prone to collapse. If a tree on your property looks unhealthy— dead branches, peeling bark, or hollow trunks—this could be a sign to remove it before it falls unexpectedly.
3. Leaning Trees
A tree that suddenly starts leaning is a clear sign of trouble. Whether it’s due to root damage, soil erosion, or a previous storm, a leaning tree is a ticking time bomb. The risk of falling increases, especially if the tree is close to structures or pathways.
4. Cracked or Split Trunks
A crack or split in a tree’s trunk is often a red flag that shows that the tree structure is sacrificing from its place. If left unattended and no action is taken for tree removal in Colac, this tree can collapse without warning, potentially causing significant damage.
5. Interference with Power Lines
Trees growing too close to power lines pose serious safety concerns. If branches are touching or dangerously close to power lines, they can cause outages, fires, or even electrocution risks during storms. In these cases, calling for emergency tree removal is a must.
How to Act Fast During a Tree Emergency?
If you find yourself in a situation where emergency tree removal is necessary, time is of the essence. Here are steps to take to act quickly and efficiently:
1. Assess the Situation
Before anything else, determine the severity of the situation. Is the tree leaning dangerously and require immediate tree removal in Gisborne? Are there branches threatening to fall on your home, car, or power lines? It’s essential to stay calm and assess the risk to prioritise safety.
2. Keep Your Distance
If you suspect that a tree is about to fall, keep yourself and others at a safe distance. Don’t attempt to handle the situation on your own, as fallen or damaged trees can behave unpredictably. Stay out of the danger zone until professionals arrive.
3. Contact an Emergency Tree Removal Service
Once you’ve identified the issue, it’s crucial to call a professional emergency tree removal service right away. Tree removal specialists have the equipment and expertise needed to handle the situation safely and efficiently. A quick online search or a call to a local tree removal in Colac can help you get the help you need.
4. Document the Damage
If possible and safe to do so, take photos or videos of the damaged tree and any immediate risks. This documentation can be helpful for insurance claims and for the tree removal service to understand the severity of the situation.
5. Clear the Area
Make sure that the area around the tree is clear of people, pets, and vehicles. Redirect traffic or neighbours if necessary to prevent accidents while waiting for professional help.
It is best to consider all the proactive steps until professional help arrives. Do what you think is the need of the situation and consider tree removal in Colac that addresses the situation cautiously and safely.
Final Thoughts
When it comes to emergency tree removal, acting fast is crucial. Whether due to storm damage, disease, or leaning trees, the need for quick action cannot be overstated. Remember to assess the situation, keep a safe distance, and call a professional tree removal service to handle the job. Safety should always be your top priority, and hiring an expert ensures the tree is removed without causing further damage.
By following these steps and understanding when emergency tree removal is necessary, you can protect your property and ensure the safety of everyone involved. Coming to the end, we suggest that you schedule a Tree Removal Mornington Peninsula or Colac now if you come across any of the situations lately.

the urgent need for GLOBAL CLIMATE ACTION
With every passing day,the threat of global warming looms larger -yet our planet's leader continue to drag their feet in addressing this urgent crisis
Negative impacts caused by climate change, such as rising sea levels , devastating storms, and extreme heat waves .we could also mention some of the alarming statistics concerning carbon emissions and the rapid depletion of natural resources

Carbon dioxide (CO2) is one of several greenhouse gases responsible for trapping heat in the earth's atmosphere, leading to global warming .As co2 levels increase due to human activities like burning fossil fuels and deforestation temperature rise, causing a wide range of negative impacts such as melting glaciers, rising sea levels ,and more frequent and severe weather events like droughts and hurricanes

Rising sea levels can have numerous negative effects on the climate, including increased erosion of coastlines, loss of habitats for marine species, and changes in ocean currents that affect global weather patterns. Warmer waters also contribute to stronger tropical storms and hurricanes, further exacerbating the problem

Devastating storms like hurricanes release large amounts of heat into the atmosphere, which can cause further warming and exacerbate climate change. Additionally, the destruction caused by these storms often leads to increased carbon emissions from reconstruction efforts and can displace entire communities, leading to displacement and social unrest

Heatwaves can have a major impact on the climate by altering weather patterns and increasing wildfire risks. When temperatures soar above normal ranges, it can cause extreme weather conditions such as dry lightning strikes and intense rainfall, which in turn lead to increased wildfires and landslides. In addition, prolonged heatwaves can harm agriculture and food production, leading to food shortages and economic instability

Some practical advice for reducing your carbon footprint includes using public transportation or carpooling instead of driving alone, reducing meat consumption or switching to plant-based diets, conserving water and energy at home, and supporting companies that prioritize sustainability and environmental responsibility. Additionally, individuals can participate in local community initiatives focused on preserving natural spaces and promoting clean energy development
While individual actions can make a difference, governments and corporations have a critical role to play in addressing climate change on a larger scale. This includes implementing policies that promote renewable energy sources, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, investing in public transportation infrastructure, and providing financial incentives f it seems that rising sea levels, devastating storms, and heatwaves all pose significant threats to the global climate. However, there are many practical steps individuals and organizations can take to reduce their carbon footprint and mitigate the impacts of climate change. By working together and taking collective action, we can create a more sustainable future for ourselves and future generations.
