i need to complain and you're the only N liker i trust... whys every N rper have such a boring interpretation of him.... like at LEAST make him obsessed with math 😭😭😭

N is a fan favorite, which means you get way more people than usual attempting to write him, which means he tends to get subjected to more fanon...that's my theory

because he's a fan favorite, i think he's also the type of character that people like to pick up and project themselves onto, even if it means removing a lot of the nuance in his canon character. back when i was still RPing him on tumblr myself (which, granted, was almost a decade ago now...geez) it was also very in vogue to put him through so many layers of AU that he was basically just an OC lmao...tumblr Gladions are also like this in my experience. so many wildly out-of-character boys out there

anyway my advice to N writers is you don't even really need to know math to write N's math stuff true to canon...just have him throw out the word "formula" or "theorem" every now and then. that's what i did LMAO......this math shit is easy

i appreciate the 'here is how to be a good roleplayer' posts when it comes to entering rp communities. but i believe that you only need one rule and that rule is communicate with people. writing w/ other people is not only a team exercise, but very often a personal thing, because you are interacting with someone's art that they poured part of themself into. genuinely i believe you only need to remember to be communicative and respectful and the being-'good'-at-roleplay-and-writing skill develops over time

!! Important Blog Update !!

Hey lovely people! So it's no secret I've been shit at keeping anything up to date and I've let a lot of you down r.e replies and interactions: I can only apologise for being so flaky. Had this blog for going on 8 years and I think it's time to catch my breath proper. The dash has become a bit stressful and I feel a lot of guilt being on here.

I'll be archiving (never deleting!) this blog some time in the new year and will signpost on to a smaller multimuse combining Thor with a few of the muses on Compassofsouls. I'll be trying fewer threads replied to faster and wanna make a commitment to actually getting to know my partners better. For those of you who have stuck around, I love you: for those who plan to follow me onwards I adore you <3

In the meantime I'm gonna be answering a few inbox memes and bits which have been hanging about and pre-agreed to carry across to my new blog. Lordaeron must have a lot of empty homes right now after the war... they're slowly rebuilding what's important first and cleaning up residue Blight waste, maybe trying to collect fundings so they can import the resources they lost acess go in that massive scar across Tirisfal

And also trying not to die again to all the dangerous crap found in that land

They have different needs than the living too so probably not as much farming and fishing needed to sustain the whole City... maybe for whoever non-undead is living there, and it could be a financial export? But they might be more concerned with protecting themselves from the elements and preserving their dead bodies

again and again i find myself lamenting that audio roleplay isn't taken more seriously by some people. like yeah, they often have a romantic element, and by nature they usually directly involve/address the listener- and i totally get that those things aren't to everyone's taste. no art or entertainment is universally appealing, and that's okay! but.. it still makes me a lil sad that the "cringe" reputation of asmr/audio rp precedes it. there's a whole lot of talent and creativity being poured into these audios by so many people that i feel goes unrecognized and/or disrespected simply due to the medium that the stories are being told through.

✖ How has Tumblr RP changed since you started?

🌸｡*ﾟ+. A LOT more graphics and fancy stuff floating around. Before it was more common for people to have just. Plain icons, no borders or anything-- no fancy filters, no answered ask banners, etc etc... But now it's like... almost a weird requirement as an RP blog that you must have some sort of graphics. Mobile banner and promo at the bare minimal. Answered Ask banners were born from when tumblr asks were broke, so we came up with a creative way to post asks again. But then they stayed after it was all fixed.

Which is perfectly fine! I'm just getting at... before it was more common to see the every day RP blog with bare bones plain stuff. Now, you would rarely find an RP blog without some sort of personalized banner for their mobile theme, or people don't take them seriously as an RP blog. And I don't mean like... just any graphic. I mean personalized, as in... it has their URL, their muse, and some sort of aesthetic to it.

So yeah, that's at least what I've observed!
