from three cheers for sweet revenge (which is my favourite album in general) my favourite would be thank you for the venom (one of the first english songs i learned the lyrics to lmao what a choice), the ghost of you (absolute heartbreak i rarely re-listen to it but it's so good) & im not okay
(i said that three cheers is my favourite album and like it is but. but black parade is also so good. all of it. and danger days??? that's like a whole separate category. but i think it's because black parade for me has more songs that i love separately while three cheers is something that i relisten to as a whole a lot as well as dd)

My Chemical Romance Dissolves Its Bond

The first time I met Gerard Way was February 2003 in Chicago. I was fleeing a blizzard on the East Coast and profiling the Used, an up-and-coming screamo band from Utah whose singer, the maniacally disheveled Bert McCracken, was in the news for dating, then dumping, Kelly Osbourne. Gerard’s band, My Chemical Romance, was opening for the Used at the time and he and McCracken were well on their way to forming a chemical-based bromance of their own. One night the two kept me in the room with them until dawn as they drained the minibar, sent the concierge out for smokes, and made increasingly frequent trips to the bathroom. (Gerard later told me that bender was the inspiration for a song called “You Know What They Do to Guys Like Us in Prison,” which featured the lyric “do you have the keys to the hotel? / ’cause I’m gonna string this motherfucker on fire.”) Onstage, assuming they were able to stumble up to it, the pair were complementary as well: two stringy suburban weirdos peddling punk uplift bruised and blackened with mascara and talk of murder.
There were differences, though, too, and these were key to everything that followed. Flicking boogers and cackling like a banshee, Bert wore fame like a leather jacket. He flashed and strutted, naturally assuming the role of dangerous front man whether he had a mic in his hand or not. Gerard — a scared and sensitive wannabe comic-book artist who formed a band out of either depression or desperation in the wake of 9/11 — wore a leather jacket like a suit of armor. When I interviewed him in Brooklyn, a year later, for the release of what would turn out to be My Chem’s breakthrough album, Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, he refused to remove the stinking, sweat-stained garment despite the rising temperatures and the concerned looks of the yuppie clientele surrounding us at the coffee shop. It was what he needed to become a rock star, he said, or at least to not feel like a fraud.
It was his costume, the first of many to follow, and it instantly set him apart from the schlocky flock of adenoidal whiners that flooded the charts — and kept me eating! — during the emo boomlet of the last decade. Where other bands bleated about their breakups, My Chemical Romance snarled. Gerard, his kid brother Mikey, along with guitarists Ray Toro and Frank Iero, refused to wallow in self-serving grief. How could they when they so clearly weren’t “o-fucking-kay”? They were misfits and dungeon masters, drama nerds and otakus. Most of all, they were performers, using light humor and heavy makeup to celebrate the majesty and ridiculousness of first feelings: love, death, the pain of piercings both literal and otherwise. They ganked attitude and artifice from Bowie and Queen, stole moves from the ’70s campfest Phantom of the Paradise, and dueted with Liza Minnelli. In the video for “Helena,” a Catholic funeral explodes into a goth Busby Berkeley review. It wasn’t a sing-along, it was a rallying cry. Plenty of bands had angst. My Chemical Romance had style.
Rock critics have long fallen back on superhero mythology to describe musicians; it’s a handy way to add grandeur to what tend to be fairly rote backstories, bending boring arcs of rehab and redemption into the Hero’s Journey, all in a quest to avoid quoting the drummer. But My Chemical Romance was the first group I covered that actually used that mythology for themselves. Gerard called his band “an idea,” labeled his fans an army. From album to album and show to show, MCR reinvented themselves across a multiverse of possibilities: They were soul-reaving vampires exacting revenge, the ghosts of a marching band returned to serenade you home, a gang of outlaw futurists using lasers and jazz hands to free the world from monochrome mediocrity. They had artistic ambition in a rock era that actively discouraged it, and they pursued it passionately without even a dash of irony. In that, they were just part of a great tradition of hardworking, self-made dreamers to emerge from the swamps of New Jersey, a wallet chain that stretches from Springsteen to Snooki. “We’re all about being the escape artists, throwing the fuckin’ straitjackets on, covering ourselves with chains and having somebody push us in the river. And then trying to get out of that,” a bleached-blond, clean-and-sober Gerard told me in 2006. We were sitting on a balcony overlooking Milan at the time, because the music industry was absurd back then and would fly you to places like that to interview people like him. “I think the world is ready for spectacle, for something big,” he said excitedly. “They’re ready for heroes, for something to believe in.”
Parts of the world were, anyway. The ravenous MCRmy spanned the globe, from Mexico City to Manila, a polyglot, multilingual militia that took solace in the band’s underdog triumphalism — and sometimes even took to the streets. I’ve never witnessed such intense fandom, before or since. Still, the resolutely black-clad supporters seemed skeptical of their beloved band’s slow progression into the light. 2010’s Danger Days was, to my ears, a glorious glitter-bomb of panic and disco, effortlessly mixing Detroit boogie with Weimar cabaret, summertime pop radio with Euroclub stomp. Gerard’s hair was a vibrant red — more Kool-Aid Man than arterial blood — and his new stage style was loose and breezy. The album eked out a platinum plaque, but its reception felt culturally inert, as if My Chemical Romance’s creative maturation had somehow skipped the groove of fight-or-flight survivalism that once grounded their fantastic excess. Gerard truly believed he was saving rock and roll by running around in the desert with a ray gun, but it was doubtful he could save his band from suffocation at the hands of a dying industry or the smothering embrace of fan expectation. He still believed in rock stars, but he also very much believed in Batman.
The last time I saw Gerard Way was in October at a comic-book convention in Las Vegas. His hair was its natural black but his mood was bright. He was in his element, there to celebrate his idol turned pal Scottish surrealist Grant Morrison. The event felt like a coming-out party for everything My Chemical Romance had screamed and bled about; it was a peaceful gathering of light-sensitive weirdos held in the shadows of the most garish place on earth. He and Mikey both talked animatedly about the sessions for their upcoming fifth album, which were well under way. But it did strike me that the larger battle had already finished. Gerard has a successful second career writing comics and movies and a pleasant life in Los Angeles with his wife and daughter. He’s free to doodle and daydream without worrying about the vagaries of record-label drama, the vast machinery required for global touring, or the fragile egos of increasingly far-flung co-conspirators. It turns out Gerard Way was the hero in his own story after all, and, unlike the “Patient” he played in the Black Parade, he wrote himself a happy ending.
He couldn’t quite manage the same for his band. My Chemical Romance announced their breakup on Friday night. They didn’t die in a gunfight or explode with the intensity of a million suns. Instead they just posted a note on their blog and called it a day. There’s talk of intramural squabbling and adultery scandals — feel free to Google; I’ve no interest in spreading the muck — but to me it feels more natural than reactive. What villains were left to face? What demons left to conquer? My Chemical Romance always aimed for the top, but the top no longer exists; all that remains is a vast, niche-y middle. Rock bands don’t want to be big anymore. Hell, if they’re smart they don’t want to be rock bands at all. In that, My Chemical Romance really were “The Kids From Yesterday,” the more or less last song on their more or less best record. “We’ll find you when the sun goes black,” Gerard sang, but I hope it doesn’t take that long for him to reboot. The thing is, I think the music industry needs a skyscraping fabulist like Gerard Way a lot more than he needs the music industry. For now, all I can do is take comfort in the fact that even Batman died once.

A/N: this is inspired by @myherowritings who did a great SMAU called ´you suck at gaming´ , you should definitely check it out! (and her other stuff as well because damn...it´s good!!)
Fashion:
this boy would wear checkered vans and black boots
band shirts all the way
belts, chains, too much jewelry, rings, all of that is a go
I get a strong jean jacket vibe from him (those cool ripped ones that are oversized)
also ripped jeans and the typical black eboy pants
wears black nail polish (matte and shiny), occasionally silver one too
KING of eyeliner
and overall make up, this boy knows what he´s doing
but he´s too scared to wear it out, so he just does it at home
he also has tons of piercings and earrings
he always finds the best and most vintage things in the second hand store
is thinking about getting tattooes but is pretty unsure
Music:
now this is where it gets interesting
for one he makes his own music
it´s more in the indie, grunge direction
he also has a YouTube channel where he uploads covers of the songs he likes as well as his own music
I feel like he would love MGK and know all of his lyrics
Yungblud as well, seems like he´d be into The Cure and Palaye Royale too
now he absolutely adores MCR above all else (as you do as a true emo kid)
he literally always struggles which album and era is his favorite
he legit overdid the three cheers make up
but he rocked it so it´s fine
Games:
okay I´m not a gamer, so I´m making this part on the info I got from my gamer friends
I feel like he´d play Minecraft
LoL too and Overwatch, those are pretty standard I know
but he´d also play horror games like Fnaf
and unknown indie games he can flex with
honestly he´s such an elitist when it comes to games, he mostly really plays games that nobody fucking knows
a lot of beta versions too (makes him feel special, but not in an entitled way)
Hobbies:
HE´S AN ANIME BOY I DON´T MAKE THE RULES
he loves Naruto and will discuss it with everyone who´s willing
his favorite character is Gaara because that´s how edgy he is
lowkey wants to cosplay but is too scared (same insecurity as with the make up)
he also likes Death Parade and Bungo Stray Dogs
he has a tumblr account where he posts poetry and sprouts his anime theories and discussions (does really in depth character analyses)
somehow his poetry always gets reblogged and he gets so many compliments for it, he really doesn´t know how to deal with it but it makes him happy
is the literal fashion icon of Instagram and gets way too many thirst messages which is why he is on private now because it makes him uncomfortable

also YES YES i think choso had a massive mcr phase in middle school (that he definitely never really left) and choso definitely wld have been a huge three cheers stan – a t-shirt (or two) with the album cover, makeup inspired by the aesthetic, a habit of perfecting his resting bitch face and claiming that his classmates just didn't understand real music. i think that it’s his favorite album but i wouldn’t doubt that he also has a soft spot for danger days because it’s so overtly campy and fun

Musing 2: The Potential Sound
A lot of people seem to be afraid that if My Chem makes new music, it’ll be very “pop-y” and commercial (like Fall Out Boy after their hiatus as an example). I personally don’t think this will happen. My Chem are notorious for doing what they want to do, not what the label or the general “mainstream” public want to hear. They have explored different sounds on each album, and on their last album (Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys from 2010), they experimented a lot with synths and electronical sound effects, but it was still through and through punk rock. 
If you listen to the music Gerard put out in 2016-2019, his music is still categorized as rock. The only song I can think of that isn’t straight up rock is “Into The Cave We Wander” from 2016, which is a beautiful and slow song, but still very experimental, as you can hear violins, synths and some kind of horn? (I honestly can’t tell and google won’t help me). Midway through the song we hear sound effects that are supposed to replicate you being inside a cave. There is rain dripping and bats flying around, and laid over that is Gerard’s haunting, echoing vocals.
“Baby You’re A Haunted House” (2018) Appears to have a positive sound to it (not that that’s a bad thing, and if you read into the lyrics you find that it isn’t positive at all), and includes a heavily fuzzed guitar. It sounds a lot like his stuff on Hesitant Alien (2014) and is a fuzzy power-pop song.
Gerard’s experimentation is especially evident on the track “Getting Down The Germs”, which includes the flute played by Sara Andon. Loudwire writes “it’s a stripped-down, feel-good song reminiscent of ‘60s psychedelic music and new school indie rock.” The flute is most likely referencing flute in rock music in the ‘60s and ‘70s (See: King Crimson and Jethro Tull). Gerard also said: “It’s a very calm affair that shows a peek into where I may be headed musically”. Speaking of ‘70s bands -a huge inspiration for the guys in the band-, many of these bands were inspired by nature, pagan culture and mythology. I feel like there is another connection to the magick-y we might be getting here.
On the tracks for Umbrella Academy (covers of “Hazy Shade of Winter” and “Happy Together”, 2018), Gerard and Ray are going for a bit “heavier” sound in comparison to the previously mentioned songs (Ray Toro fucking shreds on “Hazy Shade of Winter”!!!), and they remind of a lot of what MCR did.
Although Gerard has always been the leading force in how MCR sounds, the guitarists own personal sounds have influenced the band’s sound a lot (Frank’s punk roots, and Ray’s metal/classic rock roots). If you have paid attention to Frank’s solo work (Stomachaches, Parachutes, Barriers) he’s still very much punk rock. He shreds and screams like he always has (See: “Fever Dream” and “Moto Pop”). And if you have listened to Ray’s “Remember The Laughter” from 2016, you know he’s still into crazy riffs.
My conclusion is that, while a lot of fans are hoping for a Three Cheers For Revenger 2.0, that’s not what we’ll be getting. I do hope we’ll get some great rock bangers, but seeing where they’ve all headed musically post-split, we probably wont hear something like “Hang ‘Em High” coming from them, and I’m okay with that, Based off of Gerard’s recent stuff I’m guessing it will be experimental, occult, mysterious and perhaps with folk rock elements mixed in with Frank’s punk-esque guitars and Ray’s badass solos. Knowing My Chem, they’ll do something that has never been done before. It will be unique, unexpected and totally different. Maybe we’ll hear the flute again, or some other “non-rock” instruments? Maybe we’ll get some cool effects like in “Into The Cave”? Whatever it is, I have hope in them. People that want another angry punk-rock album from My Chem might find themselves disappointed, but I personally love shit like that. Keep in mind this is just me theorizing! I’d love to be proven wrong by them and have me look like an idiot (if they release an album) haha.

The Meanings Of My Tatttoos
The meanings behind my tattoos -
No one asked but I got inspired by watching multiple tattoo videos on YouTube.
My first tattoo I got when I was 15, is on my lower right arm of a stem of red roses and a skull with the lyrics "From the earth to the morgue" above the design. I had planned this tattoo out since I was about 12, the lyrics are from My Chemical Romance's song "Desert Song" off of the Life On The Murder Scene documentary of my favorite album of theirs, Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge. Gerard Way wrote that song about recovering from his drug addiction and depression, and how he needed to do that in order for this band and everything that means something to him to live on, otherwise he was going to end up dead at some point. The pain in his voice as he sings those lyrics had always resonated with me and the bullying and depression that I was dealing with. Those lyrics and that song were the only thing that gave me hope at some points and the fact that Gerard Way realized and acknowledged his issues and that he was going to bring himself past these difficult things he was dealing with gave me hope that I can overcome whatever pain I was feeling and I, too, will have hope again and I need to keep living in order to have my family and all the things I love with me.
The second tattoo I have, I got not long after that due to the unfortunate fact that My Chemical Romance had broken up. There are the letters MCR with an infinity sign below I got tattooed on my right wrist. That band was my life, their music was my reason to keep living, I was absolutely devastated about their disbanding although I understood their reasons and wanting to focus more on their families. However, My Chemical Romance will always be in my heart eternally and it basically is a dedication tattoo and a reminder of all the good things they did for me, a thank you for the music they created which was the only thing that made me feel understood for all of the years I felt so alone.
The third tattoo I got is my most expensive and had multiple sessions, was for my 17th birthday, one that I also had planned out for a very long time. The tattoo is my chest piece of the bloody couple on my favorite album cover (Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge) with roses beneath them and 2 small blood drops in the center down my sternum. I had the lyrics tattooed "So long and goodnight" from the first MCR song I heard when I was 7 years old. This tattoo was extremely therapeutic for me and is a symbol of me closing one chapter of my life and moving on to another. My PTSD was a nightmare at the time as it was still not long after my very abusive relationship I was in, this tattoo has helped me move forward and not remain stuck in the past where my flashbacks would often leave me. Over the years my PTSD has significantly gotten better with other therapy and medications, but my chest piece is what really separates me from that point in my life and makes me feel like I'm not trapped like I was.
Shortly after I turned 18, I got important symbols on my fingers tattooed. They all mean separate things to me and I also have dots tattooed before my nails but that was purely for aesthetic purposes. I also have 2 rings I never take off and those fingers do not have symbols on them (my left ring finger and my right middle finger). On my right hand I have a yin-yang symbol to represent the good in the bad and the bad in the good of life, I have a crescent moon (I've always had this obsession with nightfall, I am a complete night owl), I have the Gemini sign from my zodiac and also the fact that I am a twin and I have an inverted cross on my pinky.
On my left hand I have a pentagram, a broken heart (self explanatory, really), the Satanic cross (symbol of sulfur) to represent Laveyan Satanism, and the most important is the eating disorder recovery symbol (NEDA) I have on my pinky finger. It is a gentle reminder of how much I've overcome the ED I've had for most of my life.
When I was 19, I got black bats fading into red bats from behind my right ear, down my neck and connecting to my chest piece. I sort of incorporated it into the chest piece because aside from liking bats, they are pretty much a symbol from the Three Cheers MCR era which is the design of my chest piece.
For my 21st birthday last year, I got the Tsukinami Family Emblem from Diabolik Lovers tattooed on my right back shoulder (most painful tattoo I've ever gotten). Some people think it's ridiculous to have anime character tattoos or whatever but I have never been affected so much by a story in my life. The overwhelming love and feelings I have for the Tsukinami brothers (Mostly Carla), their tragic backstory that had made me cry multiple times and individual personalities, I feel so much for them. I love Carla so much, I've explained multiple times on here but everything about his character I love, there is not one thing that I dislike or would change about him or his story. Once I have money saved up again, I plan on getting his portrait tattooed, possibly on my left arm. He makes me so happy, No one can compare to him in my opinion.
I have a few other tattoos planned, such as the title of the song "It Never Ends" by Bring Me The Horizon somewhere, that song has also helped me through some of my darkest days. No lyrics could describe it better.
Also want the title of the song "This Time Imperfect" by AFI on me somewhere.
I also want portraits of my dogs somewhere but that will also cost a lot of money.
I want to get tattooed over the scars on my left arm also.
Every single tattoo I get though, I feel must have meaning to me. I must feel something when I look at it, I must feel happy about my tattoos.
My tattoos are one of the only things I like about myself and in some weird sense, they give me a feeling of comfort and safety.
If I had the money, I'd have so much more but I am completely okay with what I have now. The two most important ones I had planned from when I was very young I already have so time isn't that much of a problem for me. Those 2 tattoos felt like necessities though.

The Used

Description: Formed all the way back in 2001, The Used started out as just “Used”, as friends claimed they felt when band members ignored them to focus on the band. In the nearly 17 years since, they’ve released 7 albums: The Used, In Love and Death, Lies for the Liars, Shallow Believer, Artwork, Vulnerable, Imaginary Enemy, and The Canyon. Their track, “The Taste of Ink”, off their self-titled album, is their most streamed, but they also have many other popular tracks.
Why They’re Like My Chemical Romance: Especially in their earlier albums, The Used has a similar punk rock influence and a similar semi-heavy style to My Chemical Romance. The two have often been associated, having toured together and even collaborated on a cover of Queen’s “Under Pressure”. Though the two bands parted with bad blood, the association remains, and if you like MCR’s earlier works, you’ll certainly enjoy The Used as well.

Palaye Royale

Description: Formed in 2008 as Kropp Circle but changing in 2011 to the often-misspelled Palaye Royale, Palaye is a band made up of three brothers. They were the first unsigned band to win MTV’s Music March Madness Awards. They have released one EP, The Ends Beginning, and one album, Boom Boom Room (Side A). They are hoping to release another album, Boom Boom Room (Side B), in 2018. Their most popular track is “Mr. Doctor Man.” Catch them at Vans Warped Tour this summer!
Why They’re Like My Chemical Romance: Though Palaye has their own special 80s inspired-glam rock style, they have drawn numerous comparisons to MCR, including Classic Rock describing them as “crashing from My Chemical Romance-influenced rock to New York  Dolls-ish punk via dashes of Stones-y blues.” They also have received attention through their cover of My Chemical Romance’s “Teenagers.”

Creeper

Description: Creeper was formed only four years ago in Southhampton, England. So far, they have released three EPs as well as an album, Eternity, in Your Arms, that debuted at number 18 on the UK charts. They have been often described as a “horror punk band.” Their song “Hiding With Boys” is their most streamed Spotify track, followed by their single “Misery.”
Why They’re Like My Chemical Romance: The lead singer Will Gould has a distinctive voice that reminds me a lot of MCR somehow, and the horror punk aesthetic they tend to go for is reminiscent of Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge and The Black Parade. They’ve got a similar style, drawing inspiration from similar influences. They also participated in Rock Sound’s covers of The Black Parade, covering “This Is How I Disappear”.

Description: The band’s name stands for “Pathetic Use of Potential”, but the band was originally called Topanga. Though they formed recently in 2013, they have released two albums, PUP and The Dream Is Over. They have played a number of bigger festivals in the past few years. Their top track on Spotify is “DVP”, off their 2016 album The Dream Is Over.
Why They’re Like My Chemical Romance: They have a similar punk-inspired feel to their music that’s reminiscent of older MCR albums. Vocalist Stefan Babcock also has an emotive vocal style, similar to Gerard Way’s. PUP has also toured with former MCR member Frank Iero, suggesting that they have similar styles.

Envy on the Coast

Description: Formed in 2003 in Long Island, New York, Envy on the Coast were active from 2003-2010, broke up, and then reformed in 2016. They are still active to this day. Over the course of their career, they released two albums: Lucy Gray in 2007 and Lowcountry in 2009. Their top Spotify track is “Like I Do”, off their 2009 album, Lowcountry.
Why They’re Like My Chemical Romance: Their genre has been described using a variety of words similar to those used for My Chemical Romance, such as emo, post-hardcore, and alternative rock. They’ve also got the emotive vocal style. In addition, they’ve been associated with a variety of acts that are similar to My Chemical Romance, including Taking Back Sunday, who they toured with often.

Bands Formed By Former Members of MCR: 
Frank Iero & the Patience/frnkiero and the cellabration
After the breakup of MCR, Frank Iero, former rhythm guitarist, set out on his own and created some great solo music. It’s more reminiscent of MCR’s early work and draws more inspiration from punk and hardcore, but it’s definitely worth checking out. 
Track Recommendations: Oceans, Blood Infections, Joyriding, Tragician, Weighted
LeATHERMØUTH 
During 2007-2010, Frank Iero took on hardcore/post-hardcore band LeATHERMØUTH as his side project. The music is a little harder than MCR’s, but if that’s your thing, definitely give it a listen!

Death Spells
Another side project of Frank Iero’s (as well as James Dewees’, a former that was originally started in 2012 while MCR was still recording, Death Spells is an interesting electronic punk band that has been described by many as music that could be played at a gothic rave. If this sounds like your thing, give em a listen.

Electric Century
Formed by former bassist Mikey Way and David Debiak after MCR disbanded, Electric Century is a rock/indie group that releases genuinely enjoyable music - a little more poppy than MCR, but still great.

In addition, Ray Toro and Gerard Way have released great solo music that you should definitely give a listen! Frank Iero also has more bands, including pre-MCR Pencey Prep.

The Vinyl of the Day is ‘Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge” by My Chemical Romance, 2004. MCR’s second album but first through a major label, this was the one that brought them international popularity. Lead singer Gerard Way has described the album as a "pseudo-conceptual horror story" with it’s concept "A story of a man, a woman, and the corpses of 1000 evil men". Way has said that "The concept for the record Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge, was the story of a man and a woman who are separated by death in a gunfight and he goes to hell only to realize by the devil telling him that she’s still alive. The devil says he can be with her again if he brings the devil the souls of a thousand evil men and the man agrees to do it, and so the devil hands him a gun. That was the idea behind the concept, the record ended up being much more about loss and real life than anything, so I would say it’s a good split."
Overall, Revenge is a record of powerful music delivered with inarguable force. The album presents a sound experience on the order of a full-fledged Hollywood blockbuster. Its lyrics are commensurate with MCR's what-you-see-is-what-you-get cavalcade of blood, darkness, and death; album highlight and smash hit "Helena," for example, covers every base; hearses, burning, blades, and everything in between. But ‘Revenge’ shows a great range, not just a collection of the stereotypical angry or depressed emo tunes you would expect - it’s an album packed with catchy, somber pop-punk songs that are tough to resist. The lyrics are complex and talk to emotions and a worldview of listeners that have long been ignored or disparaged - and It’s easy to understand where they developed their views when you see MCR’s legitimately compelling list of influences. They draw much of their imagery from horror films, as well as darker goth-rock bands from the late 70’s and 80’s, in particular The Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Smiths, Joy Division, and The Smashing Pumpkins. To help illustrate what the band was about, Way said in an interview with Rolling Stone: “We love bands like Queen, where it’s huge and majestic, but also bands like Black Flag and the Misfits, who would go absolutely crazy.” 
This album is perfect for everyone who wants to paint it black. A punk rock album meant for gods and goddesses of their own world who need some theme music when they walk the street strutting their stuff like they own the place.  After listening to ‘Revenge’, I dyed my hair black and switched to red eyeshadow from my normal black.

My Chemical Romance's 2002 debut was a particularly strident entry in that shifty genre of bands tortuously slamming together elements of emo, hardcore, and even metal. Rightly signed to a larger label (in this case, Reprise Records), MCR has returned in 2004 with Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge. With the aid of production major-leaguer Howard Benson, they've edited the slight rookie excesses of I Brought You My Bullets You Brought Me Your Love, resulting in a rewarding, pretty damn relentless product. Ghosts wander through this Sweet Revenge, and the blood-stained lovers of its cover are no joke. "Would I die for you? Well here's your answer in spades...Got you in my sights," Gerard Way wails in "Hang 'Em High." There's also cinematic concepting here -- "The story of a man. A woman. And the corpses of a thousand evil men..." the liners intone. "You Know What They Do to Guys Like Us in Prison" begins "In the middle of a gunfight/In the center of a restaurant." Musically the cut's claustrophobic, messy, and juiced with adrenaline, just like the Tokyo crime caper shootout it was probably inspired by. Picture antiheroes leaping sideways with twin pistols blaring -- in slow motion, you know -- and you're close. Put an old At the Drive-In record on in the background, and suddenly you're shot in the arm and down to your last clip. Economic, treble-kicking production, consistently hyper, "Let's get to the next note NOW!" instrumentation, and great thematic songwriting -- Three Cheers teems with the influences MCRshares with its peers, but recent efforts from fellow travelers Thursday and A.F.I. don't have this furious immediacy, this coarseness that's so appealing. My Chemical Romance seems to have built-in restrictive bindings that prevent it from flying off the handle into quiet-loud screamo stereotyping or odd-bird stopovers into choral parts or maudlin piano. Something like "Ghost of You" might slow the pace, but it doesn't touch the railing guitars or inventively explosive drumming. Album highlights include the propulsive chain shots "Give 'Em Hell Kid" and "To the End," where layers of vocals increase urgency over modernist post-punk, or the raucous "Thank You for the Venom." There's no question of Reprise's high hopes for My Chemical Romance and Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge. But its accessibility pays tribute to anger and bullet holes in black leather.

6: Favorite Band? Gosh I love many, but I have to say My Chemical Romance, I say they saved me. Almost all of my tattoos are dedicated to them. I have my favorite album's (Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge) cover tattooed as an entire chest piece with roses and blood, with the lyrics "So Long And Goodnight" from the song Helena that I first heard when I was in second grade. This specific tattoo has helped me tremendously with my PTSD, as a way of getting past and saying goodbye to that part of my life.My first tattoo when I was 15 has my favorite lyrics "From the Earth to the Morgue" with roses and a skull on my right arm. Those specific lyrics inspired me to move forward through my life, the day after they broke up I also got "MCR" with an infinity sign tattooed on my wrist. So you can say MCR is definitely my favorite band! ♥️ (Sorry for the long explanation, hehe)24: Smoke, Drink, Drugs? I recently turned 21 so I've been getting frozen margaritas at times or sangria with red wine because they're tasty. Even if I drink quite a bit, my medication prevents me from feeling even tipsy. I never drink frequently or anything, only parties and stuff :) I cannot smoke because my asthma would kill me lmao. Never smoked in my life, (although I tried weed years ago. It just made me laugh a lot haha)51: Have you ever been on a plane? Actually back in March i went on a plane to California for 6 hours, it was better than I thought it would be! Considering before that, I hadn't been on a plane in 10 years only for 2 hours. The plane crossover stops are a real pain though! :)Thanks for asking!!! ♥️
