What are your thoughts on The Alchemy? All the football references make you think it's about Travis, but if you take them away, the rest of the song just doesn't make sense for him in my opinion. Especially with “this happens once every few lifetimes” from it and “once in 20 lifetimes” from cardigan.
Hey, anon! Honestly, I'm so glad you asked about this song. When I first heard 'The Alchemy', I was cackling at what I believed were obvious football-related red herrings… This suspicion grew exponentially when Taylor decided to mash it up with 'Treacherous' of all things!
Tumblr media
And of course, it's "touch down", not "touchdown":
Tumblr media
Which implies some sort of aircraft… an airplane? (Perhaps a UFO? 🛸)
Even if it is a sports reference, who's to say it's not rugby? Especially when paired with the word "blokes"… Also, what's with the word "blokes" anyway? Americans don't say that! lol And Taylor sang it with a heavy accent during the acoustic set…
Now, I know what you might be thinking, since I've seen a few 75 fans get upset with Taylor over this song, assuming it's super petty and she's making fun of Matty. Well, part of my personal ethos is to give people the benefit of the doubt rather than automatically assume malintent. So, my thinking is that even if Matty truly did ditch Taylor because he couldn't take the heat of her fan's burning pitchforks and he thought he was doing her a favor by leaving… the absolute last thing she would do is write songs making fun of him for it. The woman who wrote 'Peace'?! Nah, I don't buy it!
I firmly believe that Matty gave TTPD his blessing. I think it's chiefly an album reflecting an earlier time in Taylor's life, a time she couldn't write about any of that stuff without giving away Matty's identity and personal details of his life that he did not want to be public (it was not just her story to tell). Now, though... Matty has since shown incredible vulnerability and bravery in discussing his past addictions, and frankly, humanizing addicts for his impressionable young fans! Taylor, too, has great empathy for those struggling with addiction - something she spoke about a few times throughout the 1989 tour (gee, I wonder why…) usually preceding the song 'Clean'.
And though they have at least a decade-long public history, Matty was only recently "inducted" as a muse into the "Taylor Swift Cinematic Universe". If I had any, I'd bet money that Taylor had the green light to write this album from Matty, himself (and that he's been easter egging the hell out of it leading up to its release!)
Like you, "once every few lifetimes" immediately reminded me of 'Cardigan'. Of course, you have a reference to heroin (see above), and someone getting out of a hospital… making this song almost sound like it's, at least in part, from Matty's perspective. Ditch the clowns, cut the amateurs...
And, whoever's heart is reserved, the sign is not still there for someone they just met, right? If it is about someone new, then it sounds more like a restaurant reservation or something. Not the most romantic metaphor (and frankly, a strange one if you ask me!)
Further, the song is from 2023:
Tumblr media
Anon, I just can't suspend my disbelief enough to hear this as a song written for someone she just started dating (way more "unhinged" than the exchange of "I love yous" with someone you've known for ten years, anyway...) But! I very well could be wrong. Hopefully time will tell.
Lastly, there's something called an "alchemical marriage", which is a sacred union that transcends the physical realm into the spiritual, joining twin flame souls together. Do with that what you will...
Thanks for the ask! 🤍

Let Them Talk
Corpse Husband x Reader (Female) ft. Sykkuno
Warnings: Swearing, Jealousy
Genre: Fluff, a bit of Angst
Summary: We can all agree Among Us is a fun game on its own but what makes it ten times better is playing it with the right company. Y/N could agree 100% Being a streamer herself, she loves playing with the streamer gang that includes her boyfriend and best friend. But, what happens when her boyfriend starts doubting her feelings for him due to her close relationship with her best friend.
Requested by @cheetoscat . Thank you so much for your request! Sorry it took so long to write, I hope the final product is worth the wait. Enjoy! Love, Vy ❤
Y/AU/N - Your Among Us Name
I settle in my gaming chair, adjusting my webcam one last time before joining the Among Us lobby with my friends.
“Hi everyone!“ I say into the mic, a smile plastering itself on my face. Discord is a magical thing, man. It’s so easy to forget that the people you are talking to aren’t around you or within arm’s reach. You could be separated by miles and miles of land or - in our case - oceans as well. Distance becomes negligible when you hear your friends’ voices, their laughter; when you have a good time together despite being each behind a screen, often times alone.
Well, I’m one of those lucky ones that isn’t alone. No one knows that, though. Everyone thinks I’m a single, self-employed girl that’s straight out of college. And they are 90% right. Only thing is - I’m not single. That would be a shocker in and of itself, but revealing who’s changed my relationship status would be a bomb with a whole new intensity.
Speaking of my significant other who shall remain unnamed - just kidding, it’s Corpse - his form materializes in the doorway of my recording room. I give him a hand signal the camera isn’t able to capture, alerting him of the fact that my mic is on. He replies by blowing me a kiss and walking off down the hall to his recording room where he’ll be stationed for the next three or so hours.
I owe this relationship to my best friend Sykkuno. I’m a pretty new and not very well known on the platform, however, thanks to him I haven’t only obtained a boyfriend, but a following of a little over million subscribers as well.
It all started with an invitation to fill a spot in the Among Us lobby him and his friends had created. It took him quite a bit to convince me to join, but I eventually caved and agreed. Suddenly, there I was. In a Discord call, in an Among Us lobby with some of the most well-known names on this platform. I’m talking YouTube legends. I was that puppy playing with the big dogs. The newbie tagging along with the big leagues. Or at least that’s how I felt until we all started vibing - talking and teasing each other as though we’ve known each other for years and not minutes.
When I joined the call, Corpse wasn’t present. After everyone else introduced themselves, Sykkuno informed me that we were waiting for Corpse to return. The name sounded really cool to me and I was genuinely very excited to meet this Corpse guy.
And then, out of the blue - no prep, no warning...
“Did you get someone to fill the spot? Oh- Hello, Y/AU/N.“
…he started talking and he had me star-struck. Apparently, he also had me a blabbering mess cause I remember blurting out: “Whoa, who’s this guy speaking in bold and underlined at the same time?”
The entire lobby, including Corpse, laughed. Sean, or Jack like they called him most often, answered my question, “That is the voice of God, Y/N. Its source is named Corpse, though.”
Heat spread from the bottom of my neck to the tips of my ears. I was mortified by my own stupidity. I was well aware they couldn’t see me and I was incredibly thankful for that, but I simply could not get myself to open my eyes. “I’m so sorry.” I said through nervous laughter.
“No, no, I like that description. Bold and underlined at the same time, huh?“ His voice sounded even more pleasant when it had that teasing, mischievous note to it. That thought popping up in my head only made things worse for my self-esteem and only made me more embarrassed, causing me to hide my face in my hands. “You sure it’s not in Italics as well?“
His question got a weak laugh out of me. “Nope, definitely not. Nothing Italic about it.“
Yes, I don’t even know how some terrible jokes about MS Word fonts got me as far as a romantic relationship, but they did! We’ve been living together for quite some time now, dating for even longer - hiding it just as long. It’s not that we have been actively trying to hide it or something, we just wanted to see how long it would take someone to become sus of us. When we realized no one would notice, we decided that if any rumors about us started, or even fans shipping us, we’d come clean. That hasn’t happened either, so we haven’t had the proper chance to address our relationship and neither of us minds.
At this point, I’m honestly afraid of revealing it to the gaming squad. Sykkuno especially. He’s my best friend, after all. I can see him being hurt by the fact that I kept a secret so big even from him. The last thing I wanna do is hurt my best friend but it’s already too late for that, it’s inevitable.
“Y/N have you looked at Twitter today?“ Rae, another streamer I’ve become close with over the months, says urgently.
Overlooking the tension in her words, I answer: “Nope, haven’t had the time. Why? What’s up?“
Before Rae can say anything else, Sykkuno joins the conversation, his voice somehow even more urgent than Rae’s. “It’s nothing, Y/N. If you see it, just don’t let it bother you, ok?”
Hearing such a tone from Rae isn’t unusual, but hearing it from Sykkuno is completely different and a lot more worrisome. “Well if it has the potential of bothering me it can’t be nothing. What’s going on?”
Just then, my phone dings with two notifications. I check to see they are messages from Rae.
“I sent you screenshots. Sorry, Sykkuno. She has to know in order to address it and defuse it as well. I know better than anyone how fast these rumors can spread, especially if no one reacts to them.“ She says, her tone barely apologetic at all.
I open the screenshots she has sent me and I find myself frozen in shock. Some old pictures of Sykkuno and I have been posted on Twitter by some random user. These pictures have started an entire thread of suspicions surrounding our relationship.
The pictures in question are from a New Year’s Eve party a mutual friend of ours held two years ago. Sure, in the pictures we are a lot closer than what would be considered a platonic proximity. And yes one of the pictures is of me kissing his cheek. Yes we were both a bit tipsy. I acknowledge all those things and yet none of them are concrete reasons for these rumors to have started piling.
“This is silly.“ I finally say after maybe five minutes of silence on my end. ”This is absolutely ridiculous! And why are people so serious about it as well? Actual, important matters get discussed more nonchalantly than the potential relationship between two online personalities! What is this world we live in?“ I know I shouldn’t let these rumors get to me like this, especially not on camera. Still, I can’t help it. I feel it’s so unfair to Corpse. He has to put up with this as well and it’s by no means easy for him. I’ve been shipped with people from our group in the past and he always took those rumors to heart despite acting like he didn’t care. Neither of us should get worked up, but him getting upset about them creates a domino effect with my emotions - causing me to be hit just as hard as him, in some cases harder.
Rumors of the past aside, this one is the worst by far. Mostly cause even Corpse himself suspected something between Sykkuno and I at the very beginning, when we were still acquaintances, barely crossing into the realm of friends.
I pull up Twitter to look for the whole thread, barely sparing my stream chat a glance in the process. It seems pretty split - those who agree with me and those who think Sykkuno and I make ‘such an adorable couple’. The thread is ridiculously long, and if we take into account that it was only started approximately five hours ago, you can either view it as impressive, amusing or sad. Why sad? Because someone has dedicated so much time and effort into fueling the fire of a weakly supported theory.
I love Sykkuno with all my heart. Everyone knows that - fandom, streamer squad, Corpse and Sykkuno included. I love too much and too platonically to ever even dream of having a romantic connection with him. I thought that was more than obvious, but people are either blind here, or just grasping at straws. One thing’s for certain - they’re stepping on a nerve.
“Hey where’s Corpse? Did he disconnect?” Felix asks, gaining my full attention. My eyes dart to the monitor, searching through the little avatars in a desperate search for the one of my boyfriend. It’s nowhere to be found.
“He just messaged me saying his connection is unstable but he might join us later.“ Rae says, “You guys can invite someone to fill...“
“Bathroom break.“ I interrupt, not waiting for a response before shutting my mic off, putting the ‘BRB‘ graphic on my stream and yanking the headset off. I basically run down the hall to Corpse’s recording room, my heart pounding like a bass drum.
“Corpse?!“ I call out to him, one hand already on the doorknob. When five seconds pass by without a response, I barge in.
Inside, I find his usual spot on the gaming chair empty and his slumped figure seated on his bed.
“Corpse?“ I try again, watching for even the tiniest change of body language. He remains still as a statue, not bothering to look up at me either.
His hands are gripping the edge of the mattress, his head hanging low. His eyes are covered by the short curtain of his dark messy curls. I can’t gauge much. Is he angry? Is he sad? Both? How should I approach the situation?
Before I find the answer to any of those questions, I am kneeling in front of him, our height difference eliminated. I gently pry his hands off the mattress and take them in mine, holding them firmly but tenderly. With one hand I reach up to tilt his head so his eyes can meet mine. He complies, his tear-filled brown orbs meeting mine. Those tears have the same effect on me as fifty sharp knives stabbing into my chest. These tears focus their attack straight on my heart, tearing it to pieces.
“Baby....“
He cuts me off, “Why is it always someone else, huh? Do they deem me not worthy of being with you? Do they think you deserve better?” His voice wavers, “Well, they might be right. They are correct and there’s little I can do to prove them wrong. They mean you well, Y/N - pairing you with guys better than me. Those are some loyal fans you’ve got. They only want what’s best for you. And so do I. If ‘best’ is being with someone else then...”
It’s my turn to cut him off. I put an end to his nonsense ramble that’s slowly killing me by pressing my finger against his lips. The sternness of my gaze is beyond me as I get up and walk over to his computer setup. I put on his headset and hop into the call as well as the lobby with his avatar.
“Hey Corpse’s back!” Toast says, “Good to have you back buddy.”
“No, not Corpse.” I say in a casual, nonchalant voice.
“Wait, wha-“ Sean’s voice shows just how confused he is, representing the confusion of the entire lobby actually.
“I know all of you are streaming so this message will be heard by several different audiences so I’m gonna make myself perfectly clear.“ I take a deep breath, “Sykkuno and I aren’t dating. He’s a lovely guy and he deserves to find a girl who will treat him right. That girl isn’t and won’t be me though. I am already treating someone right. Someone who treats me more than right as well. An amazing person. A man-child with a heart of gold. You know him, to a certain extent. He goes by the name of Corpse Husband, but I prefer to call him ‘Love of my life’. Thank you for your time and attention, goodbye.“
I exit the call and turn around to find a stunned Copse looking at me.
“That was meant for you just as much.“ I say with a fake strict attitude, one hand on my hip the other rested on his desk behind me, “Were you listening?“
Within milliseconds, he’s on his feet standing directly in front of me, his lips inches away from mine. “I heard and memorized every word. But...” he pauses for a moment, “I think you have no idea how big of a chaos you just created.”
I smile mischievously, “We’ll worry about that later. For now...” I close the gap between us, connecting our lips in a sweet and passionate kiss.

Daylight Prairie- Creatures of the Light (lore dump)
I've had a couple of theories and headcanons stirring around my head regarding Prairie for a while now- so right here we're gonna tie some of them together cuz I haven't lored in a good long while XD
Note- btw I'm not part of beta so this is purely just me- a crackhead- putting together a crackpot narrative. SOME spoilers for Eden are present.
<THE CEREMONIAL WORSHIPPERS>
okay these guys drive me fucking nuts
We barely know anything about these guys- and what little we do know is derived purely from their closed off uh... Worshipping space. Look at this freaking thing.
Tumblr media
In the middle of nowhere. Surrounded by clouds for miles. Fairly advanced diamond technology. Altars with graves decked out in gold and candles. The mechanism for the entrance to the elevator to begin with is fairly complex as well- activated by butterflies and the butterflies don't even die in the process. And to top everything off, this place has a portal that leads directly to the Prairie Temple.
If this isn't sus I don't know what is- but I think I have an explanation.
There are six spaces for six more people that we are not aware of. The only people we DO know of is one bald person in the short garb and another bald person in the long garb. I propose that these six missing people are the Whisperers.
Which is... pretty out there, I know. Counting the 'voices' that we get in game, (including the ones from previous Seasons like Lightseekers and Sanctuary) we have one for Birds, Whales, Mantas, Memories, Crabs, and Jellyfish. For now, we're not counting either Butterflies or Krill- and I'll explain why in a bit.
As for the initial proposition that these Whisperers are the missing six, first we need to ask ourselves what exactly it was that the Worshippers were... worshipping. There is a possible god of which we see in game, and the name of this god is the Megabird.
Tumblr media
Megabird here was heavily present in concepts, and in the final product we only ever get to see traces of her and heck to this day we're not sure if she's a canon entity in the final game at all. Megabird as an entity in the concepts is basically the god overseeing the world of Sky and is comprised entirely of light. It's unclear whether or not the Ancestors were aware of her existence after or even before the King rose to power. The Elders themselves are likely privy to this information, but somehow I doubt that it's something anyone wanting to assert control over their people would encourage.
There's certainly the possibility that these Worshippers were a religious sect dedicated to the Elders themselves- but since I'm here trying to propose that they're worshipping something tangential to the possible actual god, we're going to assume this isn't the case. On that note-
<THE WORSHIPPERS WERE DEVOUT TO LIGHT ITSELF>
I propose that the Ceremonial Worshippers valued the Light above all else- and this worship was extended towards the light creatures themselves.
'Oi. Vir. Crabs are DARK Creatures.'
Tumblr media
Not all of them. Heck, a dark crab might not have been the norm back then, but that's a stretch and besides- the fact is that these crabs on the far end of Sanctuary are docile.
Keep in mind that these followers were stationed in Prairie, of all places. You know what else is in Prairie? Sanctuary Isles- home to several kinds of manta, butterflies, jellyfish, and even the elusive Elder Manta (yes that's what the big chonky boi that looks like a light krill is called- it's not a whale.).  Daylight Prairie is in no shortage of light creatures- and at the center of it all is its Elder.
Prairie Elder is implied to have responsibilities toward the light creatures as presented in the SkyShop poem featuring them:
'Fields of harvest, prairies of joy.
Farmer and fauna as one.
The Elder protects the creatures of light,
For darkened days to come.
Fly up, fly away,
For the Children of Light in need.
We shall recall our days of wonder,
And feel its air once more.'
-SkyShop Poem (Prairie Elder Pin)
In the greater context of the story, Daylight Prairie is the primary source of light energy in the form of the light creatures- it makes sense that the Elder of that realm would oversee the flow of light creatures from one realm to the other, and that the Ancestors in their domain would have a greater respect for the creatures than others. They're the ones working with them, and they're the ones that know them best.
Enter the Worshippers- who were likely serving directly under the Prairie Elder. I'm not confident that the Prairie Elder could have shared information about the Megabird- or if they even know the god existed. 'The Light itself' is pretty vague for something to be worshipped, and it's possible that the Prairie Elder instead encouraged people that the Light manifested itself into the various light creatures that we see.
In this world however- industrialization marches on, and eventually these light creatures became things to be harvested rather than worshipped. It's speculated that light creatures were used in the production of diamonds- we see signs of this scattered throughout Forest, and Wasteland by proxy. The mural under the bridge in Forest and the doors to the Temple seem to suggest as much at least. Eventually, this industrialization will grow out of hand. I have a few theories on what the Prairie Elder might have done to passively rebel against this.
<PRAIRIE ELDER AND THE BUTTERFLIES>
We learn in the Prairie Elder's cutscene that they are able to form- not summon- butterflies from fire. I'm not proposing that the Prairie Elder is single-handedly responsible for the existence of butterflies- rather I'm proposing through the Prairie Elder's abilities that light is able to be manipulated in such a way that one can create light creatures, should they know how.
It could just be the butterflies, honestly. And really it could just be the Prairie Elder that's capable of such a feat- and because of these holes in this theory it's the first to go.
And yes this is the reason why the Butterflies don't count. I think. That has holes too and I can make a case for the Butterfly Charmer technically being part of this... But I digress.
<SANCTUARY ISLES>
Sanctuary Islands could be a literal Sanctuary for the light creatures- there is an impressive variety of them present. It's also very out of the way, tucked away in a corner of Bird's Nest. The theory I'm proposing here is that the Prairie Elder and the Sanctuary Guide worked together to keep this place hidden from the rest of the Kingdom- and that it was the Sanctuary Guide that broke the bells that would have granted the Ancestors access to the light creatures.
<THE WORSHIPPERS DISBANDED>
This is... probably improbable, but my whole post was leading up to this so we're doing this. The missing six Worshippers are the Whisperers that we've encountered throughout the game- leaving in order to either develop their relationship with or protect their creatures of choice.
The Bird Whisperer stayed close and remained in Prairie- and is probably the reason why Bird's Nest exists at all. The Jellyfish Whisperer remained as well, opting to stay in Sanctuary- the natural habitat of the jellyfish.
The Whale Whisperer ventured to Forest- where there probably once was a small population of Whales, given the corpse we see in the Bridge Area and the live Whale in the Underground Cavern.
The Manta Whisperer went to Valley- I'm guessing to see how mantas were being used for labor and competitions? And Valley is right next to Wasteland so I might be reaching but they could have been monitoring that too.
The Crab Whisperer is a tricky one because we see them travelling with the Lightseekers, and yes I am proposing that this lady was formerly a Worshipper. But because we're dealing with a creature that we now know is more dark than light, maybe the Crab Whisperer joined the Lightseekers in order to observe that phenomenon more closely? Because she does refer to the crabs as friends in her SkyShop poem. Wasteland wasn't always a... wasteland, after all. Things could have been different, and the crabs could have been adapting in a time where they would be relatively dangerous but not so much that an Ancestor couldn't approach them.
And then there's the Memory Whisperer. For this one, I don't think a spirit manta actually exists- at least, not as an organic creature and moreso just an interactive holograph courtesy of the machinations of Vault. I'm actually not too sure on what this person could have been doing, but they have a call- and my best guess is that the Memory Whisperer is one who listens to the last vestiges of light leftover by a creature- because we do see skeletons in Vault, and one is of a creature that looks like an amalgamation of several spirit mantas.
<WHY DON'T THE KRILL COUNT?>
Tumblr media
As far back as Prophecy, Krill don't appear to be aligned with the light. They aren't depicted as former light creatures, nor a corrupted variant of an elder manta or whale- they are presented as thenselves in that Prophecy mural. Though I'm sure we'll get a Krill call later on, I'm not going to count them until then.
<CONCLUSION...?>
This huge post is... full of holes and heavy speculation, I'm aware. Mostly I just wanted to dump a bunch of shower thoughts and leftover lore I came up in the Discord lore chat. Go check it out sometime, I've derived a few points in this from interacting with people there. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this matter, by the way- it's fun theorizing! I haven't done this seriously in a long while.

Philip, Gentaro, Shinnosuke, and Takeru are Riders who in some capacity already experienced death. Can you make a minific that because of said experience, those four are able to see and interact with personification of Death (like Europes' Grim Reaper or Japan's Shinigami)?
You forgot a certain magenta-loving Rider in that count, but I guess we’re all regarding that special as apocryphal huh... (Onore, Inoue!)
Anyways... how do we do this anyway...
Philip felt the presence behind him, and he closed his link to the Gaia Library and turned to face his new companion. “What are you doing here?”
This... person, whatever it was, always appeared to him in a different form, but always of a person that he knew, and always someone who was already dead. This time, they had taken the form of Sudo Kirihiko, who Philip supposed was his brother-in-law, even if his sister had ultimately done away with him herself.
“Just checking in on an old friend.” The spirit’s smirk was unlike any he had ever seen on the other man, cold and calculating. “When do you plan on coming to visit me again?”
“Not for a very long time, hopefully,” he replied sardonically. “I quite like being alive, thank you. And I have too much to do to return to your clutches soon.” He turned his back to the spirit. “Now, if you excuse me, I have to research this mysterious phenomena known as ‘tiramisu’...”
“You’re no fun,” the spirit complained, but when Philip turned back to retort, it was gone, like it’d never been there to begin with.
------------
Death always made a point to visit everyone who had escaped its clutches. It never liked it when its victims found a way out of their fates, so it always reappears to them, to try and tempt them back into its arms.
Most of the time, it succeeds. All it takes is a little push in the right direction, a little whisper of a suggestion. Sometimes, Death hasn’t even to do a thing, with his hapless victim’s mind making up all the reason it needs to end its own existence.
But this? These guys... were simply too idiotic to even die properly.
The first time he appeared to Kisaragi Gentaro, it was as the boy he never knew he even loved. He had thought it was enough, but no, somehow the idiot’s plan to defeat his enemy worked.
And most infuriating of all, the boy he had disguised himself as- Utahoshi Kengo- also escaped his clutches!
Ever since that humiliating day, it’d tried everything to lure both souls back into its realm, to no avail. And, oh, did it try.
But the two were too caught up in each other too even notice his presence! It was sickening, seeing these idiots moon over each other, dancing around their feelings, looking at the other as if they held the stars in their hands...
Honestly, the nerve of some humans...
--------------
“You’re not Hayase, are you?”
“You tell me, Tomari.” The creature taking on his old partner’s guise smirked at him cruelly. “Cute kid you got there. Named her after him, like how you named the boy after daddy dearest?”
Shinnosuke’s eyes went cold with anger. “So it’s you again. Came to tempt me back to the land of the dead?”
“Don’t you think it’s time to join your dear partner in the afterlife? Or perhaps he has no more value to you anymore, now that you have everything that you have ever wanted?” he taunted. “Did you ever even think about him while he was stuck in that hospital, because of your mistake?”
“Shut up,” Shinnosuke hissed. “Don’t you have other people to bother?”
“Oh, of course I do,” the doppelganger stated. “I was thinking of visiting that other son of yours soon... Takeru, was it? Yet another soul who should be mine to take...”
“Don’t you dare touch him,” Shinnosuke growled.
“Ah, but I wouldn’t have to,” the spirit said with a cruel smirk, then vanished right before Shinnosuke’s eyes.
The man worried his lip, looking at his baby daughter asleep in his arms, unaware of all that had just happened. He prayed that she would never be haunted by Death as he was, as he would be till the end of his days.
-------------
There are a few advantages to being raised by a monk in a temple that venerated the spirits, Takeru mused, including dealing with his pesky visitor.
He had recognized Death the minute he had come back to life for real, no longer trapped in the limbo he was in as a ghost. Death had been waiting, he knew, for the day he would fail, for him to swoop in and bring him to its realm, only to watch in anger as Takeru succeeded in winning back his own life.
He knew when Death had railed when he escaped death yet another time, thanks to the efforts of a certain doctor. Defying it once was amazing enough, but twice, and even thrice...
He had also seen through Death’s many disguises and saw its true form, though he could never find the words to describe it if he tried to. It was kinda funny, in a morbid sort of way- how Death had to use dead people to make people want to be dead.
No wonder it was so furious with him.
These last few visits, it hadn’t even bothered with the disguise, since Takeru had told it that he knew what it really look liked. And it hadn’t bothered trying to tempt him into dying either, just telling him outright that it wanted him dead.
Takeru, as always, ignored its ranting and continued on with his chores, sneaking bites of rice cracker treats Tomari-san had sent him. He may feel sorry for Death losing one of its targets, but food was just too good for him to want to die again!

The Price of Wishes / On AO3
Sitting by the bed once more, Nie Mingjue stares at his brother as if he’s lost his mind. Which he might have. Nie Huaisang, lying in bed, doesn’t know what to think about anything at the moment, but this… this is the one certainty he has.
“A road, really?” Nie Mingjue insists.
“And a small altar somewhere in the Unclean Realm,” Nie Huaisang repeats. “It’s very important. And… and we need to find that god’s name to send them proper prayers.”
He glances at ‘Lan Xichen’ who stands just a little behind Nie Mingjue, smiling peacefully as if none of this concerns him. He probably doesn’t know that he’s not a real person, so he must just think that this is only Nie Huaisang being weird.
“Huaisang, that’s a little excessive,” Nie Mingjue scolds. “I’ll go make an offering to that temple if you want me to, but…”
“I’ll pay for all of it,” Nie Huaisang announces, half panicked at the idea of angering a deity so strong that they created a whole person out of thin air. “I’ll sell my fans, and those silk robes I never wear anyway, and… and we can take it off from my allowance for as many years as needed. I’ll paint a portrait myself for the altar. But it is so important. I can’t explain why, just trust me.”
He winces and regrets the words as soon as they leave him. Trust him? Right after he did something so stupid that could have gotten him killed? Nie Mingjue already didn’t trust him before, but after that…
“Fine, you’re getting an altar if it matters so much,” Nie Mingjue sighs. “I’ll see for the road. Those things cost a lot, Huaisang, and it can’t be a priority. You understand that, right?”
Nie Huaisang meekly nods. He understands for sure. Nobody really says it, but their sect is kind of preparing for the risk of a war with Qishan Wen. They have to spend money on things more important than Nie Huaisang’s whims.
“I’m sure that deity will understand that you are doing your best to thank them for their help,” Lan Xichen intervenes, his voice deep and calm, exactly the sort Nie Huaisang likes. It isn’t even a detail that made it on his list, that god is just that great, apparently. “It is to your honour that you are trying to keep your promise.”
Nie Huaisang smiles weakly, and hopes that having Lan Xichen’s approval is a sign that the deity themself is also satisfied with his efforts, at least for the time being. He can’t do more than that anyway, not right then, because the healer joins them with a foul smelling potion that quickly knocks Nie Huaisang out for the rest of the day and the night that follow.
His sleep is not a quiet one, plagued by nightmares of his father, of Wen Ruhoan, of an angry statue without a face that demands the price of a lover Nie Huaisang never even really asked for.
When morning comes, Nie Huaisang is up much earlier than usual, almost with the sun in fact. In spite of his dreams, he feels perfectly rested and full of energy in a way he never is at sunrise. It's fine though, there's a busy day ahead. Nie Huaisang is determined to find out more about his god, and to start working on paying his debt. For this he'll need to spend some time in the library, and maybe send some letters to neighbouring sects and monasteries if he can't find information on his own.
First, though, he needs breakfast. He's a growing boy after all, and he hasn't had anything since that broth yesterday.
After dressing up hastily, Nie Huaisang starts making his way toward the kitchens. As he crosses the courtyard toward those, he spots an unfamiliar silhouette walking around. A young man in white who smiles at him and comes closer.
It'll take a while to get used to Lan Xichen.
"Nie gongzi, good morning. Are you feeling better today?"
His voice is really so, so nice, it's awful.
"I'm quite well, thank you. I was on my way to grab something to eat, do you want to come with me?"
It's a stupid thing to ask. Nie Huaisang doesn't want company, least of all that of this boy who shouldn't exist, but a year in Gusu has left him plagued with crippling politeness and a fear of offending anyone wearing white. Even from this far, he can't shake off the fear that Lan Qiren will hear about any misdemeanour and punish him for it.
"I would be glad to do so," Lan Xichen replies. "People here really sleep in late, don't they?"
"By Gusu Lan standards, for sure," Nie Huaisang says as he starts walking again, the other boy following him. "But everyone will be up soon. Are you going to spend the day with Da-ge?"
From what Nie Huaisang understood yesterday, Lan Xichen is supposed to be friends with Nie Mingjue. It was on the list, after all. As for how close he is supposed to be to Nie Huaisang… it doesn't seem like there's anything official happening between them, or Nie Mingjue would surely have said something when his brother 'forgot' that Lan Xichen exists. Still, maybe the god has decided to give them a secret romance, so Nie Huaisang needs to be very careful until he figures out where they stand.
"Your brother said he would be busy," Lan Xichen says. "My presence was unplanned after all. Maybe Nie er-gongzi will agree to let me keep him company instead?" he adds with a warm smile that Nie Huaisang can't bear to look at. "After your fever, and the way you fainted, it might be better if you were not left alone."
Whose fault was it if Nie Huaisang fainted? And he so doesn't want to spend more time together, but it's hard to refuse anything to someone who smiles at him like that and makes it sound like he might be disappointed if his request were denied.
"It probably won't be much fun," Nie Huaisang warns. "I'm just going to check our library for… Ah, but maybe you'll be able to help. I really want to find whose temple it was, in the mountains."
"Nie gongzi is very determined it seems," Lan Xichen notes.
Determined is just a nice way to say stubborn, which Nie Huaisang has been accused of in the past, though he still thinks he's not nearly as bad as his brother. But Lan Xichen says it like it's a good thing, and that's... nice.
"Debts must be paid," Nie Huaisang grumbles as they enter the kitchens. It's early for sect disciples, but the servants are already hard at work, so they'll have to be nice and stay out of the way. "Lan gongzi, do you want to eat something as well?"
Lan Xichen eagerly nods, glancing all around as if he's never seen food before. It's… cute, for lack of a better word, but it also worries Nie Huaisang. He's pretty sure that if the truth gets discovered he'll be in a ton of trouble, so lan Xichen really needs to learn to act as if he wasn't born yesterday. Only, how to tell him that? If Lan Xichen himself isn't aware of it, he'll think Nie Huaisang is crazy, or maybe he'll get upset over the fact that he isn't a real person.
It’s a problem for later. Nie Huaisang manages to steal two bowls of congee and a pair of buns (earning a slap on the shoulder from the laughing cook who threatens to tell his brother, as always) and quickly goes back outside so Lan Xichen and him can find a quiet spot to eat.
Lan Xichen seems particularly delighted with the food, as if it’s the best thing he’s ever had. It certainly is a lot better than what they have in the Cloud Recesses, as Nie Huaisang can’t help bragging about. Food is just nicer when it actually tastes of something besides bitter and watery. Nie Huaisang could have dealt with the absence of meat, but the lack of taste is something he just can’t handle at all.
“Nie gongzi is very outspoken on this matter,” Lan Xichen notes with a small smile.
The tone is nothing more than teasing, but Nie Huaisang quickly shuts down. He’s been told before that he complains too much, and it’s against the rules of Gusu Lan. Everything is against the rules of Gusu Lan. In fact, Nie Huaisang is starting to feel bad for even talking during this improvised meal, and can't help glancing over his shoulder, fearing to be scolded by someone. He finishes eating quickly and silently, imitated in this by Lan Xichen.
After their bowls have been dropped back to the kitchen, they two boys head to the library. It's not the most impressive room in the Unclean Realm, but it's still a fairly decent library, Nie Huaisang thinks. There's all the normal classical texts of course, a whole bunch of cultivation nonsense he won't get close to if he can help it, but also some essays and notes on the history of Qinghe and its region. At some point in the past, one sect leader decided that he felt ashamed for being descended from a butcher and ordered his more scholarly disciple to research the issue and find out if maybe his ancestor wasn't secretly someone a little more glorious, linked to local nobility. He was apparently very disappointed to find it wasn't so, but at least now Qinghe Nie has some surprisingly serious historical texts in its collection.
Nie Huaisang has read most of them in fits of boredom. He knows some of them mention powerful local family building temples and making offering to gods in times of crisis or celebration, so hopefully he'll find something about his god as well. Without losing a moment, he starts perusing the shelves.
"So what are we looking for?" Lan Xichen asks, glancing around at the books.
"Histories of Qinghe, or something on local beliefs, or… Anything, really. It was a big temple, and the statue was huge. It's got to be an important god. They felt… powerful. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if it were one of the really big ones. I bet the temple has just been abandoned because it's hard to get there."
Lan Xichen smiles at that statement, though there's something a little sad in his expression.
"Gods rise and fall," he points out. "Perhaps the one you encountered is among the latter, and you won't find anyone who remembers them."
Nie Huaisang shrugs, and grabs the first book he can spot that looks even mildly relevant, quickly browsing through it.
"I think you're wrong," he says. "I think they must be very powerful. They have to be. They listened to my stupid prayer and answered it so well and so quick! Isn't that the mark of a powerful deity? And even if they're not, I've got to try. I've got to make them good offerings, so I must find who they are and what they like."
"Congee and buns apparently," Lan Xichen murmurs, but Nie Huaisang is too taken by his book to hear him.
Morning passes quickly, and brings them nothing. In all honesty Nie Huaisang isn't entirely surprised, but still had to try, and it's better than training in the sun with everyone else. He even appreciates that Lan Xichen is trying to help, though he does catch him looking at the books with puzzlement a few times. Of course if Lan Xichen was created with memories of Gusu Lan's great library, this one must seem very pitiful to him.
Around lunch time, Nie Mingjue joins them in the library and starts scolding Nie Huaisang for yet again leaving his bed without permission.
"But Xichen-ge was there with me," Nie Huaisang shamelessly points out, batting his eyes innocently. "And you trust him, right?"
"Of course I do," Nie Mingjue retorts without hesitation. "The servants told me you were with him, or else I'd have dragged you back to bed already."
Nie Huaisang laughs, and makes a note that he can probably use Lan Xichen when dealing with his brother. It's not what he intended when he asked for a husband who would get along with Nie Mingjue, but if Nie Mingjue gets soft with someone, it might as well profit his brother.
As they exit the library and walk away to have lunch, Lan Xichen hesitantly turns to Nie Mingjue, looking almost shy now.
“Mingjue-xiong, about that matter I mentioned yesterday…”
Nie Mingjue nods. “The woman was found where you said, and given the money. One of the disciples is from that village and he’s asked his parents to keep an eye out for her so we can help again if needed. She’s almost destitute and doesn’t have any family left. Apparently she’s got a reputation for being a little mad and impossibly lucky. I guess her crossing your path confirms it.”
Lan Xichen smiles. He rarely ever does anything else of course, but Nie Huaisang gets the feeling that it’s a lot more genuine this time, as if it really matters to him that this old woman gets treated well. It’s… sort of sweet, if Nie Huaisang is honest. But of course, kindness was on his list, so he shouldn’t be surprised.
“Who’s that woman?” Nie Huaisang can’t help asking, surprised that this newly created man already knows other people in the area.
At this question, a spot of red appears on Lan Xichen’s cheeks, as if he’s been caught doing something bad. Nie Huaisang’s heart speeds up a little, which is ridiculous and annoying. Maybe he shouldn’t have demanded for his future husband to be so handsome, since he clearly can’t handle that.
“While running that errand for my uncle, I became a little lost,” Lan Xichen confesses. “This old woman helped me get back on the right path, and she even insisted on giving me something to eat, though it was clear she doesn’t have much. I was in too much of a hurry to repay her then, but I thought your brother might be able to do something for her. I’m glad I was right.”
There’s something wrong about that story, because Lan Xichen definitely can’t have been running errands and getting lost due to not even existing a few days ago. But the joy and relief on his face over knowing that this woman will be taken care of seem real, so Nie Huaisang decides not to question it for the time being. If that god in the mountain decided to give their creation some fake memories to make everything feel more real, it’s for the best.
It’ll make it less likely for others to realise something isn’t quite right.

Oof, how would the other LoV members react to Shigaraki having a girlfriend that's kind of like Rangiku in Bleach? A gorgeous, curvy women who is motherly-sisterly but is a complete badass when it comes down to it? How would Shigaraki even meet a woman like that and have her be almost like a simp for him. Its Shiggy-lovin hours over here 💕💕
oh my heart.........
listen iT’S ALWAYS SHIGGY-LOVIN HOURS
IN THIS HOUSE WE STAN ONE HANDYMAN I LOVE HIM SO MUCH
also this ragtag bunch of misfits??? THEY FUCKING LOVE EACH OTHER OK AND THEY DESPERATELY NEED A MOM
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ATSUHIRO
Well! He wouldn’t call this a surprise, but whatever it is, it’s a pleasant one! It really is about time that their leader met someone like that. It seems to have happened fairly quickly that they’ve become an item, so Atsuhiro remains aware and available to either of them for advice just in case things are moving a bit too fast. (Tomura in a relationship, after all? The boy is very inexperienced and things could easily go badly.) He’s a perfect gentleman to (Name), and enjoys her company. That she not only applauds his tricks and can hold her own in battle certainly doesn’t hurt. He’s very excited to have her around!
Tumblr media
DABI
Damn, it’s about fucking time. How long did it take Tomura to figure out he needed to get laid? Hah. All in good fun, of course, because Dabi does hold some sort of weird level of respect and care for their leader, so it’s nice to see the guy happy. Or, what passes for happy in the League, anyway. (Name) isn’t slowing them down at all despite her gentler tendencies when she’s not fighting. Having someone around who can bring a soft touch to a group of villains who haven’t been soft in ages isn’t half bad. Also, she doesn’t call him ‘Frankenstein’ like some uneducated people, so she’s okay in his book.
Tumblr media
HIMIKO
Oooooh, this is so incredible!!! Maybe she could have… just a little, itty bitty, teeny weeny bit of (Name)’s blood?? The thing with Himiko is that her having a relationship with this woman is going to be sort of complicated. She doesn’t see the other woman romantically, because (Name) is in a relationship with Tomura. Not only is she not available, Himiko views her in more of the same light as she views Magne ― like a big sister, or even a mother figure since Himiko’s at odds with her own parents. But Himiko still wants some of (Name)’s blood. She just doesn’t want to see her hurt and bruised. She kind of just likes the fact that this woman doesn’t judge her and will happily cuddle with her even while Himiko rambles about blood and things!
Tumblr media
JIN
That’s… crazy! Well, it might not be so out of the realm of possibility. Pff, who is he kidding? This is nuts! Part of him can’t imagine Tomura, someone with a burning hatred toward almost everything and everyone, in love with someone. The other part of him can’t help but acknowledge how incredible it is that someone like their leader is still capable of being loved by someone, still capable of loving if it’s the right person. It makes him wanna vomit sometimes with how cute (Name) acts toward Tomura, but also… it gives him hope. If someone like that can find love despite his issues, then why can’t Jin, eventually, find love too? Plus, he likes how (Name) is always checking up on everyone and caring for them. It’s like they all… have a mom now. It’s a nice thought.
Tumblr media
KUROGIRI
At the very least, Tomura having a girlfriend who is somewhat more reasonable even than the other villains has to be a good thing. It means that Kurogiri can occasionally leave the man in (Name)’s care and not have to worry that something absolutely disastrous is going to happen. Whereas many of the League’s other members fuel Tomura’s negativity, she doesn’t. She seems to be able to keep a level head. With Tomura Shigaraki, that’s important. Needless to say, Kurogiri has a massive amount of respect for this woman. He trusts her to take care of Tomura whenever they’re together. All the same, though, expect him to be a bit stunned whenever she expresses any kind of concern or affection for him. It’s a mental, “― Oh.”, kind of like watching a computer reboot.
Tumblr media
MAGNE
Oohhhh… she’s just a lot of fun, isn’t she? It’s been a while since a lady joined their ranks and Magne for one is always up for that! She’s always a little bit on edge around new people simply because she has no way of knowing who will or won’t accept her given her identity. That said, she has no intention of pretending to be something she’s not, so anyone who doesn’t like that can go pound sand. It’s different with Tomura’s girlfriend, though, because it’s a safe bet that (Name) has more authority than any of the others. Thankfully, once Magne is able to relax around the other woman, they get to be fast friends. Magne is very used to being big sis, obviously, so to have someone who could be a mother figure to her? Though it’s different, she’s very grateful for that. She also can’t say she hates fighting alongside this woman, because… girl power!!
Tumblr media
SHUICHI
Ah, Tomura better understand just how lucky he is! A girl like that comes along, what, maybe once in a lifetime? It would be a lie to say Shuichi didn’t have the smallest crush on (Name), but thankfully ― for Shuichi ― he doesn’t let it spill over or be visible, and after a while, the infatuation fades. Over anything else, he respects this woman because she’s a badass who will fight for her beliefs and her loved ones despite being a truly kind soul. That’s a rare combination, one that he hasn’t seen very often, something he thinks is possibly the best way that someone can exist. Similar to ‘Big Sis Magne’, he often calls (Name) ‘Mum (Name)’ simply because that’s how he sees her. Good thing his nicknames are endearing, otherwise it could be awkward!
Tumblr media
TOMURA
This woman is just… incredible. She’s like no one he’s ever met before, and he’s constantly in awe of the way that softness and strength can coexist inside one person. Whenever he’s looking at her, it’s as if he’s watching an intricate balancing act. (Name) was sort of a vigilante when he met her, fed up with many aspects of the hero system but unwilling to give up on the idea of helping others. It’s fortunate for Tomura, because somewhere along the way, her sweet nature and tender treatment began to help him. With her by his side, he’s begun to heal, even though it’s going to be a long road. Despite that he often tries to act unaffected by her various romantic gestures, hands down the easiest way to get him flustered is for her to fawn over him. He truly, honestly doesn’t believe he’s attracted in the slightest; having (Name) kiss his chapped lips for half a second only to immediately come back for more, or to run her fingers through his hair while gushing at how pretty it is, or to just flat-out say that he’s beautiful to her? Ah, he’s blushing in half a second.
He doesn’t understand why she stays with him, and he thinks he’ll probably never understand. She could do so much better. But as long as she’s here… he wants to soak up every little scrap of affection she’s willing to throw his way. It’s something he’s never had before and he doesn’t want it to go away. He doesn’t want her to go away.
He’s always going to be grateful to her, because she proved to him, once and for all, that he can do something he was afraid he was never capable of doing: loving someone.

Illusion (chapter 5)
Grey Deer Fic chapter 5! Here’s the link to the full story: link.
As you can see, I changed the name bc I wasn’t vibing with the other one.
WARNING: slight implication of *Sex* (but not with Julius, unfortunately...)
As always, I would really love to hear what you think of this chapter!
"Captain, do you have a minute-"
I stop talking as soon as I poke my head into Captain Hervey's office. It's a sizable room, with rich wood paneling and blue wallpaper making it seem cozy. Several stuffed deer heads are hanging above the severe man's desk, where he sits across from his vice captains. Both Malota and Julius turn around to look at me; obviously I'm interrupting a meeting. "A-Ah, sorry, I'll come back later-"
"Nonsense, spit it out. But make it quick." Hervey gestures me closer, and I gulp and enter the room, a paper clutched in my hands. "What's that?"
This is always a little awkward, even though I've given several of these requests to him over the years. But it's his fault for having the "only registered guests only" rule for our base. "Lawrence wants to come visit tomorrow, can I get your approval?"
Hervey lets out a snort of laughter. "Your fiance? He was here pretty recently, wasn't he? Why do you keep inviting him here, just go visit him yourself."
"Ah, well, he insists. I can't really say no to him..."
But you can, sir. I watch as he takes the paper and looks at it carefully, as if he's making up his mind. Meanwhile, I'm praying that he says NO so I have a good reason to avoid seeing Lawrence tomorrow. Malota looks bored and lets a sigh out through her vulture-like nose. Julius stares at the Captain's table silently. Another reason why I wanted to avoid asking in front of other people is because it becomes awkward like this. Neither of our Vice Captains want to hear about my personal life, I'm sure.
"Very well. But he better be gone by dinner time, I'm not feeding him, even if he is a prince!"
Fuck! I force a smile as he signs the paper, a magical chill moving through the room as he does so. Somehow, Hervey can manipulate the barrier spell he cast around the base to let authorized guests enter after he signs off on it. His ice magic is some of the most powerful I've ever seen, and he's able to upkeep such a potent spell all day and night, subconsciously. He really is amazing, despite his faults, and it's easy to see why he's captain. "Thank you, sir, sorry for interrupting." With that, I turn and shuffle out of the room, feeling a small weight of dread in the pit of my stomach.
Why, though? Why are you dreading this? Lawrence is your Fiance, your future Husband! Shouldn't you be happy to see him?
That's probably what you're thinking, but it couldn't be farther from the truth. I tolerate Lawrence Kira, and that's all. He's 5 years older than me, always acts like he's my superior (which he is, but come on!), and really isn't the most considerate person. He always talks about how great things are expected of him, and how he needs a supportive wife to help him achieve those things and continue the Kira line. "One day." he always tells me. "One day, our children could be the King. Wouldn't you like that?"
No... Not really, actually.
But I can't tell him that. If I show any disrespect, he'll bring the hammer down, on both me and my parents. We're already on thin ice, and this marriage is supposed to save my family. When the engagement was first decided, I was only 5 years old and had no idea what it even meant. As I grew older, I was told how romantic it was going to be. Doesn't every girl want to marry a prince? I was excited to live out what seemed like a fairy tale.
Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. It soon became clear that Lawrence would never actually love me. At least not all of me. Not only that, but like I said, he's older than me, and as we spent more and more time together, he started to force me to grow up a bit faster than I should have. I'm sure you can guess what I mean.
If I didn't have Alice, I don't know what I would have done. But when I came to her and revealed that I didn't want to marry this prince, she didn't shun me or say I was crazy. She held me, and told me that we were going to get out of this, together. And so, I joined the magic knights, as the first step of my plan. The wedding that was supposed to be when I turned 18 was postponed. Luckily, the Magic Knights are a very esteemed and legitimate career path for both Royalty and nobility, so I was able to get away with it. Lawrence's family even said they were proud that their son would be marrying a magic knight.
Well... it's been 7 years since then. There's no plans for a wedding yet. This engagement can only go on so long before Lawrence decides to break it off. By that time, I'll be able to support my family myself! I don't need a marriage, and I'll finally be free to do what I want.
That's my secret, the secret only Alice and I know. My one hope for tomorrow is that Lawrence will coldly tell me that he can't wait around any longer, and will break it off right then and there.
Of course, it's never that easy.
"Hello, Lawrence."
I stand outside the base to meet him as he transports in with the help of a spatial mage. He brushes himself off before looking up, his grey eyes quickly meeting mine. Unintentionally, I feel a cold chill down my back, something that's always happened when he looks at me like that. "It's been too long, have you really been that busy?" Lawrence asks as he walks over, pulling his cloak a little tighter around himself. The snow has long melted, but its freeze still hangs lightly in the air around us.
"Er, yes, pretty busy." I let him take my hand and pull it up to his lips, not bothering to bend over. A royal shouldn't bow to anyone, after all. His lips are cold on my skin as he kisses the back of my hand, before dropping it immediately. "I actually had a pretty big mission a few days ago, I was able to beat five guys-"
"Yeah, I'm sure. You can tell it to me over lunch." Lawrence dismisses my story kind of quickly before turning to walk towards the base. I wince and hold out a hand to stop him. "Uh-er, we can't eat here!"
"Hmm? Why not?" Lawrence throws a glance over his shoulder.
"Captain Hervey said, uh... we can't spare food right now for outsiders."
"Hmph. Fine. We'll eat in town." Lawrence sighs and turns to walk back to me, grabbing my hand as he does. "Also, what did I tell you about using filler words? Stop saying um and er so much."
"R-right, sorry." I let him pull me along, away from the base.
"Man... are they really in love?"
Giles leans on the windowsill as the others gather around him, peeping down at me and Lawrence as we walk off out of sight. "Every time he comes, she looks like she'd rather be somewhere else."
"It's true," Alice pipes up, leaning against the wall and not bothering to look. "He's a real piece of work, you know."
"How can that be? He's a prince." Elia crosses her arms. "Who wouldn't want to marry a prince?"
"She just wants to live a normal life, I think. She's not cut out for that royalty stuff anyway."
"Nigel, shut up."
Meanwhile, Lawrence and I reach town and make our way towards my favorite resteraunt there. "There's really no other place to eat?" Lawrence asks, pulling his hood up over his head, his eyes darting around the street.
"It's my favorite! I think you'll like it, too." I squeeze his hand, causing him to smile for a moment. "You're afraid of being recognized."
"Yeah... I have a pretty big fanclub you know!"
... I doubt that...
Our base is located in a forest right outside the limits of the noble realm. We're close enough to town so we can get all of our supplies, but secluded enough that Captain Hervey is able to put up our barrier. It honestly feels like a little sanctuary for the squad, but I still like going in to town to see the usual hustle-and-bustle of civilization.
"You know, this type of place does have a little charm." Lawrence talks to me as he quietly sips his beer. His eyes keep darting around the restaurant, as if he were analyzing everything in sight. He's always been like that, cool and calculated, always scheming or sizing the world up. He's really an intelligent man, someone who can keep a level head in any situation. His magic is very strong, too, and it's interesting that he never joined the Magic Knights. When I asked him why a long time ago, he simply said that it wasn't his style. I have a feeling he'd rather be involved in the government down the line.
"I'm glad you think so. I guess not all Royals are so stuffy," I answer, playfully nudging his foot under the table. Lawrence narrows his eyes at me but can't conceal his smile. Ah! I need to stop being so cute around him, remember?
"I'm not that stuffy, am I? I can have fun... what do you and the squad do for fun, anyway?" Lawrence yawns a little, scratching his chin under his hood.
"Hmm..." I think over the past for a moment. "Well, we have little parties in our base now and then. Oh, also, the Captain lets us go to the beach on our days off! We also like to come to town to go drinking some nights."
"Ah... that sounds like fun. A little crude, but fun." Lawrence nods along with my words. "Maybe I'll take you to the beach sometime, just the two of us."
Just the two of us.
"...yeah, sure."
By the time lunch is done, it's obvious to me that Lawrence isn't about to break up with me or anything. In fact, I've somehow managed to warm him back up to me after more than a month of absence, and now...
"Let's go back to the base."
"Huh? Er- Lawrence, I told you before-"
"Stop saying ER! And I don't want to eat. Is your roommate around?"
"...probably not..."
"Good."
This is my least favorite part of his visits. Lawrence hates showing affection out in public, but as soon as we're alone and away from prying eyes, he basically pounces on me. I can't really do much but hold on as his lips crash into mine hungrily. We were each other's first kisses, but I'm pretty sure he's pretty good at it. The way he moves his lips against mine always makes me dizzy, at least. He pushes me until we're both flat on my twin bed, one of his hands bunching up the sheets next to my head. The biggest drawback of avoiding him for so long is that he gets... needy.
However, his affection doesn't last long. As soon as he's done, Lawrence simply pulls the covers over me and gets up. I roll over, feeling a bit sore, and watch as he starts to re-dress himself. "You're leaving?"
"Yeah." Lawrence buttons up his shirt, his fingers fumbling slightly. "I assume I'm not allowed to stay for dinner." He sits back down on the bed to start pulling his shoes and socks on. "I'll come back to visit soon, don't avoid me any more, you hear?"
"...yeah. No guarantees, though." I gulp nervously, pulling the covers over myself more as he looks down at me again. "I'm a magic knight, you know! I have a duty-"
"Your duty should be our future," Lawrence cuts me off, his gaze moving away from me again. "...do you really feel like this is where you belong?"
I open my mouth to respond the answer that I always do: Yes, of course. I'm meant to be a magic knight!
But... I can't say that any more, can I?
Because, for whatever reason, someone on my very own squad wanted me gone.
"Hey... I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you cry."
I didn't even notice the tears trailing down my face until Lawrence reaches out to cup my cheek gently. I look up into his grey eyes, which are filled with warmth, for once. But I still get that chill.
"If something's bothering you... you know where to find me, okay? You're going to be my wife one day, hopefully soon. We can put all this Magic Knights business behind you, but you'll always carry that honor. I'll take care of you, I promise."
... "Alright." I nod slowly, reaching up to hold his hand for a second before he pulls it away. "Write me some letters."
"I will. See you soon!"
Lawrence gives me a small smile and a wave, before quietly leaving me alone in my room once again.
I stay there for a while, curling up under my sheets like a cocoon. For just a couple minutes, I feel safe.
Lawrence really isn't so bad, is he? I mean... at least I know what he wants. My attackers won't show themselves again, not yet, and they won't tell me why they want me gone. Maybe... maybe I should just listen to them, and leave...
No. That's stupid. I squeeze my eyes shut as memories start to flood back.
I can't leave... because then I'll marry Lawrence. I don't want to be near him at all! Slowly, I sit up, letting the sheets fall off my body as the more pleasant chill of the base hits my skin. I'll find out who attacked me, and purge them from this squad! I'm meant to be here, I'm meant to be a magic knight.
Eventually, I get up to get dressed, cleaning myself off before heading to the bathroom. I splash some water on my face before looking up at my reflection. I look tired and a little stressed out... but alive.
"Hello there! Enjoy your day off?"
I'm on my way down to dinner when I run into none other than Julius. I haven't seen him all day, not since yesterday's meeting, but he's heading the same way as me now. "Ah, yeah. I haven't seen my fiance in a while, so it was nice to have lunch with him."
"Your fiance? Oh, right, Prince Lawrence." Julius nods as he falls into step next to me. I glance up at the taller man, not able to read any emotion other than his usual neutrally-happy expression. Even so, his presence puts me at ease, although I doubt anyone would attack me now while everyone is awake in the base. "Is the wedding happening soon?"
"Oh, definitely not. We haven't even started planning it!" I smirk a little. And if I have my way... it won't ever be planned!
"I see... I guess, eventually, you're going to outrank us all."
"Huh?" I look up to see him smiling teasingly down at me.
"You'll be a princess, right?"
"P-Princess?" My eyes widen as I realize that he's right. Then, I shake my head. "Ah! I don't even want to think about that..."
"Why not?"
"Too much pressure?"
"Ah, well, I think it suits you."
I look back up at him, aghast, just in time to catch his wink. "Hey! Jul- I mean, sir, that's a long way in the future-"
"Julius is fine-" He lets out a warm laugh before gesturing for me to keep up with him. "Come on... a princess can't be late for dinner."
..... AHHHHHH.
I swallow my pride and quickly catch up, pouting a bit to myself. Princess... I can't even imagine becoming royalty. And I don't want to! I'll never be a princess, not if I have anything to say about it.
Slowly, though, I feel my cheeks heat up, and it takes everything I have to keep from glancing back up at Julius's face.
Still...
It didn't sound so bad when he called me that...

matchup: hi, may i request matchups for obey me and genshin impact? i’m bi so any gender is ok! im an impulsive dumbass and my attention span sucks, but i still manage to cheese my way to good grades. i suck at talking, so i tend to keep to myself. i do try to be sociable, and i can maintain short conversations with strangers. but i can’t help but stick with the people i know. i try to be honest, and i like helping others and being seen as reliable. ive depended on others a lot in the past and im trying to be less dependent! also i’m basically nocturnal because my sleep schedule is really messed up :’) i like tea, freshly baked goods, and comfy sweaters! as for hobbies, i like to play video games (especially rpgs!) read scary stories, and i also love crafts like knitting and bracelet-making! especially if i have someone to make things for. for dislikes, i don’t like being too idle, and having to wake up early. as for my ideal date, i’m honestly satisfied with just spending time with the person i like, but i think it would be fun to do something spontaneous, like drive out somewhere in the middle of the night. thank you so much and i hope you have a great day! 🍀
Tumblr media
I think you match well with...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
SIMEON
🍊 simeon would either go along with your impulsiveness if he thinks it's amusing or he would stop you before things get dangerous or serious. he highkey wants to know how you still managed to pass even though you didn't pay attention that much, he's genuinely curious.
🍊 as one of the transfers from the celestial realm, him as well as Luke are quite popular. if you're trying to be more sociable, simeon could help you with that, if you accept his help of course. he understands that you want to try to be independent, however, if you're trying to handle an tough situation, he would come over and ask if you wanted or needed help. but of course the choice is yours to decide.
🍊 sleep is very important, he would try to at least have you sleep longer than you usually do. freshly baked good? say no more, you guys would have tea time with treats made by Luke, sometimes he would join, sometimes he leaves you two alone. he would definitely be down to play video games with you! maybe drag Luke into playing as well. he loves every single craft you make, he would also sometimes make you something handmade.
🍊 leaving for a while wouldn't be that bad, feeling the cool breeze at night isn't that bad. normally you'll be the one driving. simeon adores spending quality time with you, he'll either say it out loud to your face or say it through his actions. maybe during your little date, he would tell embarrassing or non embarrassing stories about the 7 brothers back when they were angels
Tumblr media Tumblr media
JEAN GUNNHILDR
🍊 jean would be worried about your impulsiveness, maybe trying to spot you from her window or asking an knight to check how were you doing. because jean is a busy woman, although she does try to make space in her schedule to spend time with you. other than that, she's genuinely grateful and happy that you still chose to stay with her even if she didn't give you as much attention as you deserved. don't worry though, she makes up the missing affection + attention when she's free and spending her time with you.
🍊 she understands how you like helping others as that's what she practically does for an living, she does enjoy helping others though. she loves it when you try to be independent, she does worry about you sometimes though. jean would be with you through the entire night, probably buried under her piles of paperwork. its funny how she tells you that sleep is important, yet she's here spending the another sleepless night due to work + her undying knightly passion
🍊 when she finally makes time, she uses her free time to be with you, no one is allowed to talk to her about work during her time with you. she would be interested in your hobbies or your interests, she wants to take the time to get to know you more so don't be surprised to see one day jean in the library learning how to do crafts so that she could maybe make something with you next time.
🍊 it's hard to have dates because of Jean's job and passion as an knight, so most of your dates were spent either at yours or her house or her office or even accompanying her solving issues around mondstadt. but if she's really feeling it, like really really really feeling it. she might join you for an nightly stroll around mondstadt or relaxing under the great tree (windrise).

Louie’s Internal Depth
Tumblr media
Describe nothing! He hasn’t earned it!
Tumblr media
It’s not fair! What’s so wrong with an innocent scheme!?
Tumblr media
Ethics is concerned with your actions negatively affecting those around you.
Tumblr media
Look, your plans. Your schemes. They only lead to bad things for your family. If you want to be apart of this family, you’ve gotta stop...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is the one thing I’m good at...Why can’t you see...?
Once again Della, while she has a strongly accurate point about what he did, fails to see how Louie Incorporated meant the world to him. Yes, she had every right to ground him, but taking away something that was more than a scheme hurt him deeply. Also, can I just say ouch at Della’s statement? While she had the best of intentions with that line about his schemes only doing bad things, in hindsight, Della, called Louie a bad son, from his point of view. That had to really freaking hurt this kid to be contemplating that, as he’s letting seeing things from all the angles blind himself from what really matters, in the long run, his loved ones. However, can you blame Louie for feeling this way?
Della is correct about Louie with the time tub shenanigans, but she still hasn’t put together the pieces yet that Louie feels seriously inadequate, due to everything else that’s happened with the environment Louie grew up in. Telling him to give up what he sees as a talent that makes him not feel depressed has to be soul crushing. If Louie can’t be a schemer, I’m sure there’s times where he’s asked himself...
What’s the point in being apart of this family then?
Louie definitely believes he has to earn his mother’s love. Louie wants to become a schemer, such as Goldie, but Della is standing in his way, like an insurmountable emotional wall and for obviously good reasons of unconditional affection/concern for him. Although, Louie doesn’t see it that way at all, looking at his mother, as someone who’s out to hurt him. I don’t doubt he feels betrayed that Della showers his two other bros with affection because they’ve got more in common with with her than Louie could possibly ever hope to match
Tumblr media
A good scheme is like a family! It can be big, complicated, frustrating, and people may not always understand it...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
...but when the individual parts come together, they can achieve the impossible and a family united is the finest scheme of all!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here’s the complex part I’ve noticed about what they’re doing with Louie in this episode. While he does realize that Della has a point about what he did wrong, Glomdgold’s words have had a serious affect on his resolve. He may be deeply regretful of what happened in Timephoon, but is that going to stop him from getting his hands back onto the idea of Louie Incorporated? They don’t call Louie the stubborn “evil triplet” for nothing, especially when he’s emotionally driven with his powerful desires to feel loved by the family again. Louie feels entire alone in the McDuck Manor because no one shares his ideals at all.
Tumblr media
Mom, I know I messed up, but seeing the angles is what I’m good at.
Tumblr media
Okay, but you need to take care not to hurt the ones you love and I’ll be here to see the angles you can’t. Now all you have to do is turn back the company over to Scrooge and everything will go back to normal!
Della may be letting Louie continue scheming, but only in the way that she sees fit that won’t hurt the family all over again. Which makes sense because throughout the entire episode Della has been reading every trick Louie tried to pull on her by running off to join them at Candy Mountain. Louie may be sharper than the sharpies, but Della is in an entirely different league from him, similarly to Goldie. Louie realizes this now and respects Della’s wittiness, overall. So, everything goes back to the way it was again, right? Louie turned into a much better kid thanks to Della’s hard lined advice, just like Beakly said it would, correct? Pffffttt, Hell the fuck no. Then it wouldn’t be DuckTales now would it?
Tumblr media
Louieeeee!
Tumblr media
Louie...?
Tumblr media
In the usual fashion, DuckTales has used the good old meta tool to subvert its tropes into something more complicated. Has Louie gotten better? Well, yes and no. Louie certainly doesn’t plan on ever putting them in danger again with another time tub worst case scenario, but taking Scrooge’s company for his own Louie Incorporated dream idea? That’s certainly what Louie believes to be within the realm of a “good” thing to do in the end, as he confidently thinks no one will be hurt by it. Except they will and rightfully so. Della’s gonna be furious all over again because Louie severely misinterpreted her message into something else.
Now, why would Louie repeat the same mistake of hurting his family twice? Unfortunately, due to Glomgold’s speech, Louie is now more determined than ever into making Louie Inc. a reality again and this time he wants his family to help him out, even if it means pulling a classic Goldie double cross on his dear Uncle Scrooge. Louie feels like he’s more than earned it, given how he outclassed Glomgold, Magica, Don Karnage, The Beagle Boys, and Mark Beaks, where two of whom are very well known rich businessmen. That’s more than enough grounds for him to feel justified in taking away Scrooge’s legacy, except he wants this family to become apart of his “new legacy” with Louie Inc. Especially with his mother, since Della promised to be there by his side and he really wants her to because Louie sees her as a valuable asset/relative.   This episode was a great slow burn with a lot going on underneath for Louie emotionally to pick apart here. While I’d have loved to see more of him getting truly angered/upset in today’s episode, the next one for sure aint gonna be pretty, so that more of a nitpick. He’s disobeyed Della’s strict rules a second time, so there’s no way she’ll agree to any of this, of course. Della will surely refuse to work with him, which is gonna crush Louie. He’s thinking that getting Louie Inc. would be enough to finally make her proud of him, but he’s warped the idea of true love, through his own heavy emotional trauma.
The Richest Duck In The World is gonna bring out Louie’s more antagonistic side, exploring his complicated emotions toward Della further, I believe. There’s a reason why Zan Owlson is in the episode synopsis because Louie is gonna use her instead, as his right hand assistant to see all the angles.
Della’s gonna have to make yet another tough parenting decision and turn Louie away. God, I’m not ready for more sad Louie. You’re finally getting what you want, but at what crucial price?
The subtle nuanced approach they’ve been taking with Louie in these last episodes has been very fun to see play out. I’m really loving it, honestly.

August’s Featured Game: Marinette
DEVELOPER(S): Teal Crown ENGINE: RPG Maker MV GENRE: Horror, Puzzle, Adventure WARNINGS: Sensitive Themes, Blood/Light Gore SUMMARY: A little girl named Marinette, in the wake of a splitting family and a change of homes, is having a birthday. But this, her eleventh birthday, will present a deadly opportunity to fulfill a special promise. On the night before her birthday, she is drawn into a strange realm; an unnatural dollhouse, populated with dolls who are not quite what they seem. A web of strings lying in wait, and threatening to ensnare the poor marionette; warping her perception, and twisting her every move. Will the strings attach, and force her to become an unwilling puppet, or will she escape this surreal web of strings? What will she have to do to avoid the dangers of the dollhouse, and set herself free?
Our Interview With The Dev Team Below The Cut!
Introduce yourself! *Mitty: "Hello, I'm Mitty! Thank you so much for the opportunity to participate in this interview. I'm the main developer of the game and I'm working with a team of friends to make this game a reality. I work mainly on the visuals and programming, and I'll be representing the team, alongside Third! I've been on the community for around two years, even though I tend to not be active very often." *Third: "Hoi, I’m Third! I appreciate you reaching out to interview us. I’m the main composer and writer of Marinette, and I work under Mitty to make the story and soundtrack what we want it to be. I’ve been in the community for little less than Mitt but am even less active in most of my developer discords."
Tumblr media
What is your project about? What inspired you to create this game initially? *Mitty: "The game is essentially about a girl that gets trapped inside a dollhouse. A simple concept really can go far ahaha I've always loved themes related to creepy dolls so I wanted to create something related to that. What pushed me initially to start were obviously the inspiration of seeing other devs creating, seeing how far you could go with these engines and create amazing interactive stories, however the huge support from a friend was what made me actually start past the planning and dreaming!" *Third: "Marinette is a story about a little girl becoming entangled in the complicated family and supernatural landscape she finds herself in on her birthday. I enjoy writing short stories about this kind of thing so it’s fantastic to work on a larger project about one of my favorite subjects. My primary inspiration and introduction to this kind of game in general was Pocket Mirror, and I use it the most as a model for how to do certain things. However, I also draw a lot of inspiration from masterpieces like Aria’s Story, Ib, Witch’s House, and Alice Mare."
How long have you been working on your project? *Mitty: "The project has been in the works for around two years now! The first year was mostly planning and right now we are on the right track with the programming and asset creation for the demo, as well as music and sound design for later development. Planning isn't over yet though, especially for the final game." *Third: "I’ve been working on this for almost two years. The soundtrack possessed most of my earlier attention, but now it’s taken a backseat to writing, now that I’m actively writing the scripts for the game now. "
Did any other games or media influence aspects of your project? *Mitty: "Yes! The game has inspirations from plenty of sources, not only strictly RPG Maker Horror games, or games in general for that matter. If I were to mention those, of course games like Ib, The witch's house, Alice Mare, Pocket Mirror, Yume Nikki & .flow, Stray Cat Crossing, Mogeko's games...etc quickly come to mind. When it comes to the aesthetics and visuals, the inspirations come from several different places, including games like Alice Madness Returns, Dofus, Yomawari, The Legend of Mana, Little Nightmares...the list goes on; or other media, like Inu Curry's animation style or video creator nana825763, as well as some anime and music videos. Silent hill is also a huge inspiration for the atmosphere, and hopefully we can pull it off well!" *Third: "My primary inspiration, as I’ve said earlier, is Pocket Mirror, both for its masterful writing and soundtrack. The game’s soundtrack is the main reason I still play piano. Whenever I’m feeling musical, my fingers always hunt out the same kind of haunting, mysterious, and sometimes peaceful and playful melodies that Pocket Mirror is rife with. In the end, our soundtrack is probably going to sound like Pocket Mirror and Aria’s Story’s soundtracks were meshed together. Story wise, commonplace elements in this genre like demons, monsters, mean parents and puzzles that tell the story are commonplace for a reason, and certainly find their way into this one, in their own special way. Every other game I’ve mentioned involves them in some form or another. And young, curious protagonists are also a blast to write and do evil things to and put in difficult, dangerous situations. "
Tumblr media
Have you come across any challenges during development? How have you overcome or worked around them? *Mitty: "We surely have! Many of them in different areas ahaha Taking away bug hunting, I am primarily an artist, so programming for me is a secondary thing. Because of this it's easy to get carried away and hard to realise what can and can't be done. I don't want the game to be visually boring if I can make things move and seem alive! The way I'm handling it is programming like an artist: I think in my head what cool things I can do with my art by not having it completely still, and then it's a matter of executing it on the engine. However this comes with a downside. I tend to tweak things a lot, and that takes quite some time, but I honestly think it's worth it ahaha Also I find it hard to start writing, but when I do, I can't stop orz. Other challenges are also finding plot holes. This is fixed with a lot of studying the story, gathering inspiration and talking with the team. I also struggle a bit with communicating with the team, but thankfully they are all very nice and understanding." *Third: "Main challenge is overcoming the sheer weight of how much I have to learn about music and writing in order for this game to be what I want it to be. I’m a perfectionist, and when I care about something, I can’t tolerate it being worse than it could’ve been. Also, writing is getting more and more complicated and there’s more things and details to keep track of so as not to create inconsistencies or plot holes, especially as we try to revise it and make major changes to the story (Mitt will know what I’m talking about). "
Have any aspects of your project changed over time? How does your current project differ from your initial concept? *Mitty: "It changed a lot, not only in terms of the story and writing, but visually too. The basic concept is close to being the same, though. You can check out old posts in the blog where I consider different styles of mapping and such. Actually, don't, please. It's too old...and my writing...oh god." *Third: "The writing has come a long way, but now that we’ve fleshed out and written down much of the backstory, it’s a much more complicated story than what Mitt first showed me when I joined."
Tumblr media
What was your team like at the beginning? How did people join the team? If you don’t have a team, do you wish you had one or do you prefer working alone? *Mitty: "Initially it was just me, occasionally having Mia to talk about the story and help develop it. Rindre joined as a voice actress very early on and also helped in other aspects of the game. Then I also talked about it with two friends I know in real life, one helped with organization and the other with some concept art, but they aren't that active anymore, even though I still count them as part of the team (Thank you guys btw if you're reading this). Eventually I met Third, an amazing composer and writer, and I asked him to join in! He brought along a friend who is also an amazing composer and writer, Code, and these two are complete madmen of music and writing and I'm super glad to be working with them, as they are super passionate and it makes me really happy ahaha. Bruno is also a really dedicated composer that is helping with a few tracks as well! Miku and Luccinia are two super talented and kind artists that have also been helping a ton with concept art, and their ideas have certainly improved the game as well. We are welcome to more concept artists, though! More heads, more ideas ahaha Recently we got the voice actresses for a few characters in the game, when we did the auditions, and hopefully soon another friend will jump aboard and help with organization and writing! We are a relatively small team, and sometimes progress goes a bit slowly since we can get busy, but we are all doing our best! I’m glad that I’m not alone. Links for their pages and such can be found on the team section on the blog, go support them if you can!"
What is the best part of developing a game? *Mitty: "For me, personally, I love seeing what my team mates come up with, whether it is music or concept art. I also enjoy the love and support we get, and it makes me excited in the development. As for the creation part, I like programming challenging cutscenes and doing cool things with the assets. Progress updates can also be fun to make when I have the time." *Third: "My favorite part is showing Mitt what I’ve written and composed. Making her happy and excited with my work is extremely fulfilling. "
Do you find yourself playing other RPG Maker games to see what you can do with the engine, or do you prefer to do your own thing? *Mitty: "Oh, yes! Besides being a cool break from programming hell, it helps me make it less of a hell ahaha I like improvising, though, so I think I play RPG Maker games because I enjoy them for the most part." *Third: "Occasionally, not really. I don’t play many games and I’ve played the heck out of the ones I have."
Tumblr media
Which character in your game do you relate to the most and why? (Alternatively: Who is your favorite character and why?) *Mitty: "Ah I don't know, honestly. I think I can relate to every character in one way or another, and it's hard picking one, especially since the game isn't out yet and I'd like to keep most characters hidden until the demo. Marinette is definitely one of my favourites, though, I just love how innocent and cute she is. Her cheekiness can be made super interesting ahaha" *Third: "My favorite character is definitely Pierre. He’s a complete blast to write, and gives me lots of cool things to describe and say through him, from his magic tricks to his killer lines and quotes."
Looking back now, is there anything that regret/wish you had done differently? *Mitty: "Hm...Having organized things better in the beginning would have saved a lot of time now, but I don't think it's been that big of a deal anymore. I don't have any regrets that I'm aware of at the moment since everything until this point was necessary to learn and get to where we are now."
Do you plan to explore the game’s universe and characters further in subsequent projects, or leave it as-is? *Mitty: "I'm not sure yet, it depends on the reception and how willing I'll be to continue the story. Even though I would find it fun to make comics, another game or a different midia, realistically I can't tell how willing I'll be to continue developing content about it after the game is finished. Honestly, I hope I can develop more projects on Marinette, we do have content for that, and I absolutely love it with my heart! But it's also equally important to move on to another story. Only time will tell!" Third: "I hope to, but that day is very far away for me. I’ll be gone for quite some time after Marinette is finished, and I hope I’m not forgotten by the time I return. Perhaps I’ll entertain myself with additional short stories exploring the various aftermaths of the game."
Tumblr media
What do you most look forward to upon/after the release of a project? *Mitty: "I honestly just want to get the story out there. I'm hoping people will enjoy it if they play the game, and will have a special place in their hearts to keep it on. This project means a lot to me, and having it making people feel things is what I'm looking forward to. I'd love to see other people playing it, definitely. I imagine I'll eventually be relieved to have finally completed it, it'll be a big moment for me to sigh be proud of creating. I'll be able to move on to work on other fun things while I see how this little child of a game is going to do out there in the wild, and that's always nice!" *Third: "Fan reaction, 100%. Having people ask me questions about my work and telling me how much they enjoyed it is my favorite part of writing."
Is there something you’re afraid of concerning the development or the release of your game? *Mitty: "Yes, I don't want to feel empty with nothing to do when I finish the game. I know it will be great and all, but I've been working on it for so long that it's hard to imagine not working on it ahaha! It's a really fun hobby, but it's also engraved in my heart. I want it to be the best it can be, of course, so I'm scared of bugs, inconsistencies and overall it being clearly a bad game. I'm hoping that people will help with critiques on the demo, so I have a better outside perspective of where we are going. I don't want to drop the game, so I'm scared of having to take a long break from it during the development. I'm worried of being a terrible team leader as well." *Third: "I dread plot holes more than anything, and I dread a dull and overall unimpactful story. I want a tale that will punch the viewer in the gut, hard. I want to make them cry. I want to make them laugh. I want them to draw what I wrote, and explore it further in hopefully-not-too-sexual fanfiction."
Do you have any advice for upcoming devs? *Mitty: "Don't be scared to start. You're going to suffer mid-way if it's a long term project, but keep pushing through, you'll learn a lot and it becomes easier with time. Take breaks and take it easy, step by step. LIST STUFF AND MAKE BACKUPS. Learn with short projects first. Ask for advice from people you admire, but never hold them on a pedestal. It’s always helpful to be a jack of all trades! Try to think from an outsider perspective if you're not sure of how it's going, and if you can, tell people you trust about the game and ask for opinions. Always take criticism well, but don't stress too much over harsher or even meaner comments. Have fun and never forget your starts, the people you meet and the reason you're doing the project for. If you're also an artist, writer, musician, remember this is a great opportunity to add something interesting to your portfolio. Cool visuals attract people, but they are not everything that will keep them hooked." *Third: "The best part of making a game is the people you make it with. The story is the most important ingredient of your game. Prioritize it first, and everything else will fall into place around it. Otherwise, everything will serve some other aspect of your game, and that’s rarely a good thing. Always speak your mind; do not every not say something just because it’ll hurt someone’s feelings. Obviously don’t be a tool, but if you ever have to choose between hurting the game and someone’s pride, pick someone’s pride. It’s much kinder in the long run."

Question from last month's featured dev Froach Club: Have you ever had a moment where you got completely stuck or became intensely frustrated while using RPG Maker? *Mitty: "Yes I have, I think everyone has QwQ Despite silly mistakes, I've gotten stuck several times, but honestly it's usually either us doing something stupidly hard that can be done another way, or we are just not skilled enough yet, and it's better to come back later. You can usually do most things you wanna do if you have the advantage of knowing the programming language your RPG Maker Engine uses I think. Google is your friend always, and sleeping about it also helps. I once dreamt of a whole sequence to fix a problem, and it worked! ahaha Always take it easy and don't give up, but know your limits and the limits of the engine!"
We mods would like to thank Teal Crown for agreeing to our interview! We believe that featuring the developer and their creative process is just as important as featuring the final product. Hopefully this Q&A segment has been an entertaining and insightful experience for everyone involved!
Remember to check out Marinette if you haven’t already! See you next month!

ollie’s book rec list
hey y’all i got libby this last year and its expanded my reading a bunch. I talked about what books I liked on twitter earlier but I wanted to move that over here. These books aren’t in order of preference, just when I read them. I’ll probably be updating this list throughout the year as well.
Stuff I loved:
Gideon the Ninth- Tamsyn Muir: Probably my favorite book from this year, I’m eagerly awaiting for the sequel. WAs everything I wanted in a book, witty and clever. Lesbian necromancer and buff swordgirl end up taking part in a contest that entangles them in murder and mysteries. Its sci-fi but not hard sci-fi and sticks mostly to one planet. I’m witholding judgement on the ending until I read the second book because I have some conflicting feelings about it. Tags: F/F romance, bones, so many bones, Sci-fi, mystery
Ancillary Justice - Ann Leckie: Told from the perspective of a ship AI that was once many different ancillaries. The story jumps back and forth between the present where she inhabits one body and the past to how that came to occur. It was super unique and engaging. I’ve seen this on a few lists for LGBT content which maybe there is in later books but that tag comes from the the ship AI being confused by gender since her language just uses “she/her” pronouns for everything. Therefor, yes technically any romances that occur are queer because every single character is referred to via she/her. I love language stuff like that though. Theres so many details that I was deeply fascinated by. Tags: sci fi, space politics, clones, unique perspective.
The Raven Tower - Ann Leckie: Similar to her other book above, she plays with storytelling and narrator perspective. This is from the perspective a god who is a giant rock and switches between past and present. It was a bit slow at first, as it is a rock telling the story, but its well worth it and the ending was so fulfilling. I REALLY enjoyed the world building, everything felt neatly crafted as piece by piece the machine comes together and turns slowly. The protagonist human is also explicitely trans. Tags: politics, fantasy, god wars, trans protagonist.
Swordspoint - Ellen Kushner: An older book, but focuses around the politics of a city where swordsmen fromt he lower city are hired to fight for the aristocrats in the higher city. Follows the best swordsman and his [insufferable] scholar boyfriend, but switches perspectives a lot. Its fun, I might reread it. Tags: heavy politics, aristocrat bullshit, M/M romance, swordfighting!
Kings of the Wild - Nicholas Eames: This book read Very much like someone’s first classic D&D campaign, for better or for worse. I Loved it because the heart, passion, and sincerety put into it was so palpable and it feels like a campaign where everyone comes in with goofy joke characters and then midway through they get Really into it and suddenly everyone’s crying because that joke backstory they made has implications. Its about a bunch of retired legendary old men adventurers who get called back for one more job - to rescue the leader’s daughter. Tags: Sad old men, good fathers, fantasy, gay wizard, tabletop inspired.
Bloody Rose - Nicholas Eames: The sequel to the previous book (though it could be read alone). It really goes into more depth and analyzes some of the previous worldbuilding more, pulling apart some of the problems in the world that were swept away previously. I liked it slightly less but its still very good. It follows a bard joining up with an adventuring band to fight a...dragon? Maybe. Tags: F/F romance, are monsters people, necromancy, dragons, fantasy.
The Golem and the Jinni - Helene Wecker: A newly made golem woman and a Djinn who was trapped for thousands of years both in up in New York City in 1900, and their paths eventually intertwine. Really amazing perspective of Jewish and Arab immigrant communities and cultures in NYC. Switches point of view through many characters in the communities who come in and out of their lives. Tags: Supernatural beings, urban fantasy, historical.
The Monster of Elendhaven - Jennifer Giesbrecht: Very short book I read in one sitting about terrible evil men doing terrible evil things. One of them is unkillable, the other one is sorcerer and theyre tied together through a dark fate to destroy the world. I was deeply into the mythology and the way everything wove together. You know I’m a sucker for weird god stuff and I was provided for. Uhh trigger warning for a lot of stuff here, graphic violence, sexual assault, etc. Tags: Evil stuff, magic, dark mythology and folklore, capitalism, revenge plots.
The Black God’s Drums - P. Djeli Clark: Another short one read in one sitting, set in an alternate post-civil war setting New Orleans where a girl has a Goddess of storms living inside her. Tags: alternate history, bi protagonist, gods and goddesses.
The Claidi Journals - Tanith Lee: So this was a reread of a kind of obscure series I read when I was a kid and I immensely enjoyed. Caveat that it is a young-adult series but it was such a fascinating and vibrant blend of fantasy magic and sci-fi, there’s little blend between the magic and technology of the realm. It’s about terrible families doing terrible things and the women who got accidentally caught up in it. It also has one of the most interesting women characters I’ve ever read who doesn’t even appear much in the books but whose legacy impacts every character. Tags: Science fantasy, aristocrat bullshit, bad moms, hetero but chill.
Mixed Feelings:
Uprooted - Naomi Novik: Reclusive wizard who holds an evil forest at bay takes on an apprentice girl who gets entangled in further politics of the nation. I got Really into the worldbuilding, plot, and writing of this book and it hooked me pulling me along. However I have a major frustration with it that really prevents me from putting it in the “loved” category. If I could edit out about 20 lines I’d have found it perfect. I know other folks who disagree with me though so I’ll still recomend it. Tags: wizards, nature magic, politics, grumpy tower wizard, unfortunately heterosexual.
Of Fire and Stars - Audrey Coulthurst: Lesbian princesses and arranged marriages uh oh. Ones a ranger jock the others a sorcerer. Its fine and cute, I wasn’t really happy with the antagonist reveal at the end though. Tags: Aristocrat bullshit, politics, F/F romance, arranged marriage angst, forbidden magic.
Wayward Son - Rainbow Rowell: I really enjoyed the first book of this series and found it a delightfully self-indulgent transparent Harry Potter derivation. That sort of falls apart in the second book where having to build off something that worked as a one-off just doesn’t extend to a more filled out story and left me feeling unsatisfied. But, once again, the world building is delightful and I’m charmed by the magic system and a British person’s opinion of America. Tags: M/M romance, magic, America!, roadtrip, vampires
The Last Sun - K.D. Edwards: Modern fantasy tarot inspired world building. The main character is the last remnant of the “Sun” house that was ripped apart in a terrible way. He has PTSD and is hired to find a missing man, along the way uncovering a deeper conspiracy involving his house and past. It was fine, its a good book. I just wasn’t into it that much. Also massive trigger warnings for sexual assault, torture, etc. Tags: M/M romance, mystery, gritty, magic.
Vicious - V.E. Schwab: I enjoyed it and it was a short quick read, but for some reason I’ve never been able to get into V.E. Schwab much. Not sure why. Man with power over pain is released from prison and seeks vengeance on his former friend who put him there - who is now a superhero, and adopts a young girl necromancer in the process. Tags: villains, everyone is evil, superpowers, modern, necromancy, unwilling father figure
The City Stained Red - Sam Sykes: I really just started skimming while reading this one tbh. Trash man swordfighter and his disfunctional adventuring party trying to collect their payment in a terrible city. It felt like someone’s D&D campaign but in the worst way where everyone is an edgelord dark backstory. I honestly didn’t like a single character. But, that’s fine it just wasn’t for me. I see this get put on lists for having a bi-character. Which I guess technically but I wasn’t a huge fan of how that became relevant. Tags: tabletop inspired but insecure about it, gritty, terrible city, terrible people, bi protagonist

Preview: “You want a drink, cowboy?” The voice beside him almost startled him, making him jump to look down at the woman in the brown woollen scarf, holding two glasses of whiskey. She held one out to him, and he took it with a quiet thank you, more than expecting to resume people-watching alone and in silence, watching on as killer and survivor alike had raided his realm for a good time - a break from the killing and the madness, if only for a moment or two. But she didn’t. Instead, she moved around him and took his side, resting her elbows on the balcony and joining him. She took a small sip from her glass. “You know, it’s crazy. Soon you’re just going to go back to slaughtering us for fun.” “You assume it’s fun.” He gruffly replied, glancing down at her to meet her eyes. “Are you implying it’s not?” Caleb paused for a moment, almost thinking it over, before he chuckled. “...Yeah, no, it’s real fun.” “Yeah, I thought so.”
It was louder in here than it had been in a long time. He wasn’t sure if he liked it or not.
The piano wasn’t being played by ghosts this time. Among the white noise of idle chatter from the saloon floor down below him was the tickling of ivories at a fast pace, courtesy of that Macmillan guy, mask pulled up now as he ran his hand up and down the stained keys with precision, though a bit rusty at times - a well-trained pianist, in whatever past he had. That athletic survivor with the ginger braids stuck close by, clapping along to the rhythm with a smile on her face. There was another survivor on the other side of the killer, the bear on the back of her jersey clearly in view from the balcony as she tried to touch the bottom keys of the piano without getting her wrists slapped. They seemed happy enough.
Others were scattered among the odd tables that littered the saloon floor, creating the blanket of white noise that overlaid the music. From one, he saw the snapping movements of the spectral ghostly girl as she sat beside two survivors, a kind man in a trenchcoat and the hardy looking girl with goggles, the two of them talking and occasionally giving the spectre a chance to input - she was laughing, a wide smile distorting her face, occasionally giving the man a soft and thankful glance when she was sure he was paying her no mind. From another, many people surrounded the tough-looking survivor with the undercut and the strong killer with the rabbit mask as they partook in a battle of brute strength - an arm-wrestling match, with support from both sides of the playing field, cheering them on and clapping in glee. At the bar sat a quiet group of four - older men, supposedly wiser, he would have thought, if not for the idiot wearing sunglasses indoors and the man with the metal hand, both clearly drinking more than they could handle. Even from the balcony, the apologetic glances exchanged between the older soldier and the detective were plain as day to see, their companions too delirious from alcohol to pay that much mind.
 “You want a drink, cowboy?
The voice beside him almost startled him, making him jump to look down at the woman in the brown woollen scarf, holding two glasses of whiskey.
Soon you’re just going to go back to slaughtering us for fun.”
“You assume it’s fun.” He gruffly replied, glancing down at her to meet her eyes.
“Are you implying it’s not?”
Caleb paused for a moment, almost thinking it over, before he chuckled. “...Yeah, no, it’s real fun.”“Yeah, I thought so.”
“Yeah, I thought so.” She returned the laugh in kind, though hers was a lot gentler than his - less rough, less biting. The killer turned his head to look down on her, at the expression on her face as she looked down to her friends and enemies below, a smile on her face. He followed her gaze down to the arm wrestling match, where the undercut survivor was shaking his hand and cursing to himself, his opponent stretching her strong arms above her head and placing a hand on her shoulder, where the infected priestess had placed her own hand in congratulations, whispering blessings in foreign tongues that Caleb didn’t care to understand.
The two remained silent and just watched the occurrences on the floor below. The idiot in sunglasses had climbed into the bar counter now, in the process of removing the tan suit jacket he wore with the encouragement of his fellow drunkard before being dragged off of the bar and outside by his sober, bearded compatriot. From underneath the balcony, the quiet boy almost always armed with a toolbox walked out, carrying a large pot of bubbling liquid and placing it on one of the empty tables, the leather-masked fellow and the hunched over swamp witch following behind him excitedly, ready to show off their cooking skills to the rest of the gathering.
The company at the piano had grown now, Macmillan having moved to let someone else take a seat - one of the survivors, the bigger woman in the pinstripe suit, whose piano playing was delicate, light and slow, accompanied now by the sound of a guitar, as the tattooed blonde survivor sat on its lid and played along and gently plucked the instrument's strings, the third member of their little musical entourage being the sound of a haunting, tolling bell from the tree-like man in the torn cloak, his addition giving the piece a melancholy vibe. Sat on the other side of the piano lid was the floating nurse, and though no expression was visible on her face due to the bag covering her face, the way she relaxed told him she was enthralled with the performance.
Caleb looked back down at the woman still by his side, her expression still soft as she looked among the crowd. As if knowing she was being watched, she looked up again, not fearing to stare directly into his eyes as she did.
“You know… we don’t even know your names. You don’t know ours. Isn’t that crazy?”
He paused, raising an eyebrow. “Why would it? Attachment ‘n that. Makes shit harder.”
“Like you would have sympathy.”
“Some of us have a heart, ma’am.”
She paused. “...Deep down, somewhere. I suppose you’re right. Though, it’s not entirely true. I know who you are. By chance. Maybe that’s why…”
He watched as her hand fell to the flashing device on her belt, a subtle red light blinking on and off. “...Huh. Nosey, aint’cha?”
“It gets me ahead in my line of work, Mr. Quinn.” She looked up as he flinched with a smirk, clearly not bluffing now, before her eyes fell back onto the crowd.
Following her gaze again, which was once again placed on the arm-wrestling pair, Caleb heard her chuckle, moving her arms again to hang over the balcony in a delicate criss-cross. “Oh, David’s at it again.”
David. Must be the idiot with too little hair. Caleb looked down at him as he pressed his elbow against the table, and flexed his fingers with a pained grin, ready for another round. “...Hardy one, ain’t he?”
“I’d call it stupid. Only Nea would encourage his behaviour, and there she is.”
Sure enough, by the man’s side was the girl in the beanie, almost shouting in his ear as both beratement and encouragement - he swore he could almost see the sweat on David’s brow as she continued on. He hummed, his loose jaw cracking slightly before he snapped it back into place.
“And isn’t Jane’s music lovely?” She continued, a free and open hand signalling back to the piano. “I never expected her to be a pianist, and yet, the way she makes music with Kate is stunning.”
“...Sounds nice.”
“Kate normally plays for us all, for a morale boost, it’s lovely. ...Ah, and look at that. The Spirit is a little less terrifying-looking like that. I never considered Adam to be the comedian type, he’s much too serious for that, and yet...” A pointed finger lead to the table of three again, where the spectral girl still giggled, her nose shrivelling up and as she tapped out her hand in defeat, the girl in goggles laughing along with her nose pinched between her fingers, a free hand nursing a glass.
Caleb hummed again in acknowledgement, looking down at the scarved woman again, and her soft features, before nudging her softly with an elbow. “You’re not slick, ya know, missy. Tryna teach me somethin’ new an’ all. Think that’s gonna save ya?”
“Ha, guess not. Just thought I’d give it a shot.” She shrugged, twirling some hair between her fingers as, again, she stared him in the face, with no fear, and even a soft smile on her face. “And my name is Zarina. In case you wanted to know.”
He looked away, back down below - there was a commotion with the dinner plans, it seemed. He didn’t care to get involved. “Well, I didn’t.”
“Well, too bad.” Zarina almost mocked him with her tone, before she took a drink, finishing off the last of her glass as she tipped her head back, and wiping her mouth with the back of her arm in some mock-macho movement.
There was a beat of silence. “...S’a pretty name, regardless.”
“Huh?”
“You heard me.” Dark eyes looked down at her again, and with another gentle snap of his jaw, Caleb gave her a lopsided grin, to which she gave him a half-hearted shove.
“Now who’s trying to get some sympathy points, huh?”
“Hey, just tellin’ the lady what she already knows.”
The odd pair shared a laugh, before the cowboy too finished off his drink in a movement similar to hers before, then holding out his free hand to take her empty glass. “One more, for the road?”
Zarina looked down at his hand, palm dried and scarred from years of working with his gun, before she placed the bottom of her glass into it. “If you enjoy my company, you can just say so, cowboy.”
“Ha. Keep dreamin’, Princess.” Heavy boots creaked against the wood of the balcony, as he descended down the stairs to the bar.
The night carried on, many survivors and killer alike finding it hard to stand after indulging in the rare pleasure that was alcohol in this realm. The darkness grew darker before everyone returned to their own dwellings until the trial resumed.
Boots on the counter of the bar, Caleb poured himself one final drink, listening to the last of the footsteps behind him. “‘Night, Zarina.”
She looked behind her, finding his eyes on her as she hauled the arm of a barely conscious Dwight over her shoulder, hoping to help their leader back to the campfire in one piece. A small smile fell on her features. “...Goodnight, Caleb.”
He suppressed the small inhale and choke of his drink as she said his name again, for the second time that night, listening to the sound of her footsteps and mumbles back and forth with the messy spectacled boy grew quieter and quieter, leaving him alone again, with the creaking of floorboards and the ghosts on the piano, until the next time he was called to service here again, gun in hand.

Get to know BILL CIPHER who’s THIRTY-ONE years old and works as a POLITICIAN in town. He is from CORONA and is often times mistaken for DANE DEHAAN while others say he reminds them of BILL CIPHER from GRAVITY FALLS
TW: Drugs, alcohol, violence, self harm, cults, religion talk(?), murder (implied), animal death
So let’s start with his cult.
This cult is generations old. And the Cipher’s have always been at its forefront. They believed that one day the other dimensions—dimensions of chaos and magic and nightmares— would collide with this one and bring about an Armageddon like state to the world. However, there would also be a person that could control and bend these chaotic happenings and twist the nightmares away. But of course, this person couldn’t protect the whole world, so only those who followed this religion would be protected when this savior—who was often described in almost demonic or horrific ways— showed up. And not only would these members be safe but they would be the people who were also granted powers and rule over what was left of the world when chaos reigned. Some people were put off when they realized this was a cult bordering on a type of satanic cult. But the descriptions were to be expected. You wouldn’t expect someone completely sound of mind to be able to manipulate nightmares and control and command chaos. But for decades, this person—this savior— hadn’t come around. There was a member of the Cipher family way back at the second generation of the cult who seemed likely to be this messiah, but she did end up dying before her powers ever developed. Then, decades later, two devout members and members of the Cipher family believed that they had found this person who would be their leader. Who would save them all and help them regain their rightful powers and lead them through the end of days when time dies and reality feels more like an illusion. They believed that this person would be their grandson, Bill.
Bill was only six when his grandparents introduced him to the cult. And it wasn’t this introduction that led him to be the person he is today. They felt like he was meant for this power because when he was only four, he had found a dead bird while visiting his grandparents. But after his parents had scolded him and told him he needed to get the bird out of the house and wash his hands for even touching it, his grandfather asked him where he found the dead bird, and Bill replied, “I found it in the yard. But it wasn’t dead.” And this mixed with other behaviors such as him never being an emotional child and always seeming far more fascinated with death and darker subjects, his grandparents decided to introduce him to the cult. They hadn’t even told their own child—Bill’s father— about the cult. And Bill became the youngest member to ever be initiated into the cult. Because after just meeting him, and seeing him not even wince as his grandparents marked him with the cult’s symbol of an eye, they slowly started to believe them.
It was when Bill was seventeen that he became the leader of the cult. Because he was always very charismatic, always very powerful. And because people believed that he was the person that would protect them in the end of time. But of course there were skeptics that didn’t believe in him yet. They wanted proof that he had these powers and that he had this connection to these nightmare and chaos realms and to the magic of Corona. And Bill told them that he had a vision in one of his dreams that his grandmother would die in three days in a house fire and his grandfather would die five days later of complications from the smoke that filled his lungs in the fire. His grandparents of course were shocked to hear this revelation. Because as far as they knew, Bill hadn’t developed his power. And he hadn’t developed his powers. Bill was just a person; he hadn’t ascended to his position of power yet that he knew he was destined for. But, three days later, his grandparents—who went to their son’s house because they assumed in Bill’s “premonition” he meant their house would burn down—both ended up in the hospital. His grandmother was severely burned and in critical condition, and his grandfather in less serious condition but still pretty bad. Bill’s parent’s didn’t even make it out of the house. Bill was also burned, but not as bad because he had gotten home to see the smoke, and went in to get his grandparents out. He was burned enough to not ask questions. They determined the cause of the fire was a faulty gas line. His grandmother died in the emergency room and three days later, though he seemed like he was doing better, Bill’s grandfather died in his hospital bed. And this was proof enough to all the members of the Cult that Bill truly did have these powers.
He kept up this act by mentioning visiting people in their dreams and making up other ways of showing off his powers without really showing them—like taking a little more than a microdose of lsd during some meetings or special ceremonies such as initiations or rituals to the demons in the other dimensions— and people continued to believe that he had some of these powers. But Bill wanted true powers. He wanted magic and to take hold of his destiny of being practically a god of chaos and nightmares. And he knows that one day it will happen and when it does, he will happily ascend to this position.
Things the cult does include rituals—some of which are sacrifices of personal objects, or blood or hair, or sometimes like on special occasions, an animal. Nobody in the cult will talk about or confirm if there have ever been human sacrifices and new initiates never ask.
All members get a tattoo or a brand of an eye on the back of their neck. Members will also be asked to complete some trials and sacrifices to join and prove they are willing to join and devote themself to this cause and religion. One of these trials is staying in a completely dark room with nothing in it for 12-24 hours. If. You can last the 24 hours, you are welcomed into Bill’s more inner circle of people he trusts more. People who will essentially be his council both in the cult and when the Armageddon they were preparing for inevitably came.
Bill doesn’t do the recruiting because he’s currently trying to rise in political power, and if people knew he was a cult leader well… that’s just bad for approval ratings. People are advised to only invite those who they know would be willing to endure the initiation trials because if they cannot, it will be unfortunate for them if they try to tell the police or anyone about what’s going on.
Most of the cult’s meetings take place in the basement of his grandparent’s home (which is now Bill’s home.) It’s a huge room built at least two stories down into the earth. It has intricate stonework and hand carved altars and sigils burned into the floor. There are braziers that line the room, all burning with a lining of copper and some metal salts—which definitely cause some hallucinations to those around, but Bill will explain it away as just them seeing into these other realms— so the flames burn blue. There are the texts of the religion written in Latin which Bill can read because his parents forced him to go to Catholic school and because his grandparents would teach it to him.
Like most cult leaders, Bill will sleep with members of his cult. He never forces it and anyone is welcome to say no to any of his advances, however these are people who believe he’s destined to become a god so…. And it’s not everyone, and people have said no, but we’re going to be honest this is definitely slightly an abuse of his power.
Bill will hold seances to talk to the other side and the nightmare realms and just make up bullshit about what he hears or he’ll be high and just will describe whatever trip he’s on. Because it’s close enough.
I will talk about more in detail parts of ceremonies and initiation trials if you ask me, but some of the ideas I’m just not writing them down here. Just know they involve things such as self harm for the purpose of blood sacrifices and proving willingness to follow orders, drugs—ones people know they are taking and ones that are either said to be something else and are laced with drugs or ones they’re not even aware of such as the toxins from the pyres Bill burns— and animal death because of making a sacrifice (These are usually only for big ceremonies and on special occasions like eclipses and solstices.) This is a cult people. This isn’t a walk in the park to join. And people who get halfway through the initiation process or who decide to leave the cult often have experiences with extremely bad luck afterwards because while Bill might not have any actual magic yet, he has plenty of members who do, and a few he trusts far more than anyone else in the world. (And honestly having Eris to just give them back luck until they either swear silence or until they rejoin is a great help because before she came around people would just mysteriously go missing)
ANYWAY! On to Bill specifically.
Headcanons
His grandparents always had his back. When there were times his parents would actually pay attention to him and his behavior and they thought about sending him somewhere or taking him to get tested, his grandparents would insist that it was because of his parent’s fighting and that Bill wasn’t doing anything wrong.
He’s a gambler; Bill loves making deals.
While he’s not always honest about the deals he makes or the way he wins, he’ll usually fulfill his end of the deal. Just not always in the way you may be hoping.
Bill definitely has some anger management he needs to work on. But he doesn’t really have any interest in that.
Bill is a bit of a pyromaniac. Just one of the many, many ways he likes to create a little chaos and destruction.
A lot of his chaos isn’t such to him. He thinks it’s just more fun. More interesting.
He learned how to lucid dream when he was young. All his dreams are twisted and would be seen as nightmarish, Bill loves. Because they’re his dreams and he’s in control of every aspect of them.
Being a politician definitely helps him get information on others he wouldn’t normally be able to obtain. And helps him reach a bigger audience, helps him to convince his followers that he has more knowledge and powers and connections to magic than he really does. Helps that it pays well, too.
Has probably committed many felonies, but he will never admit to that.
He sees and hears whispers about people getting powers, and he’s impatiently waiting for his own. And getting a little frustrated that it hasn’t happened yet. Though he’s doing his best to pretend like he has (Think ‘The Wizard of Oz’)
He keeps an eye out for other people who are trying to figure out the mysteries of the island. Not that he thinks any of them could possibly be a threat to him. Just because he’s curious and because you never know when you might find some potential followers.
He’s got eyes and ears in a lot of places. He’s never short of information.
He has symbols tattooed on him. Either from his cult or other satanic religions or demonic symbols. I’ll talk about this more in a bit..
He’s a bit of a sadomasochist. He enjoys the pain and enjoys other people's pain. But in the past—before he figured out, let’s say, other types of pain—he would cut himself just to feel anything.
When he was younger, one hundred percent wrote illuminati conspiracy theories and would tell urban legends to little kids just to freak them out and make them upset.
Has a very dark sense of humor
Even though he does a lot of shady things, he does his best to keep that away from the mainstream media. It’s easier to manipulate people when they don’t have an already negative opinion of you.
He’s still figuring out how he feels about the new people coming to corona. On one hand, this is more people to manipulate; more people he can convince to follow him; more people to rule over someday. On the other, he doesn’t want some nobody coming in here and putting everything he’s working towards at risk. Not that he thinks there’s somebody capable of stopping him or taking his place. Just… a precautionary concern.
He’s charismatic in the way that most psychopaths are.
Also kind of a jerk. He’ll definitely use your insecurities and weaknesses against you.
He’s not going to let anyone stop him. He doesn’t care what he might have to do or who he might have to hurt to get where he’s going. None of that is going to stop him.
You might say he’s cocky and overconfident.
Has not only taken classes studying demonology, but will also do a lot of research on it in his free time.
Bill has definitely dabbled in Satanism and other such practicings, but he wouldn’t say he’s religious in any sense. Well, other than his own.
When he’s fully enraged, he does become more chaotic. He thinks less about his actions, and any reason to what he does is gone.
Is well off from both his career and money left to him by his grandparents.
He’s not an alcoholic, he just likes to drink. A lot.
Same with some drugs. He’s not only here to be a powerful ruler, he’s also here for a good time.
While he doesn’t act like it, he is aware of mortality and the fact that he’s (not yet) invincible or immortal. And that’s definitely one of the first things he wants to figure out how to fix about himself
Has never been in a serious committed relationship. Any time he was in a “long term relationship” it was purely so he could get something from the other person, whether it was information or as a cover to make himself seem more “relatable to the public”.
Any real emotions he has are buried under several layers of just being mostly insane.
There are definitely those who see him for who he is and he doesn’t care. He knows he’s unstable and insane. He thinks it’s more fun that way.
When he was younger, Bill would get in trouble in school for bullying other kids by scaring them, and the counselors were often concerned with the odd symbols he’d draw on himself and his papers. They suggested therapy or medication, but his parents never followed through. And even when they tried to, Bill would just not go to the sessions or take his meds and sell them to some older kids outside the high school.
He enjoys the company of other people who are eccentric and wild and just straight up weird.
Yes, he’s smart, but he definitely always thinks he’s the smartest in the room. He’s conceited and self absorbed.
Despite his odd behaviors and how he behaved, he did very well in school, getting mostly A’s
As wild as he may have been, he wasn’t a fan of partying in high school or college. The only benefit of parties being a bunch of dumb drunk idiots all together in one place. He often liked watching the chaos.
Fun Facts
Would sell his soul to the devil if he thought he had one.
He’s read the lesser key of solomon more times than he can recall.
He’s Pansexual
He listens to a lot of older music because it’s what his grandparents listened to. He doesn’t really have a favorite genre or a favorite anything
His birthday is June 6th.
Bill plays the piano. His grandparents had one and he liked to practice on it when he was at their house before he was really old enough to witness all their meetings.
Tattoos
Also known as “It’s a miracle Poppy didn’t question if he was insane while they were hooking up”. Anyway let’s do this shit.
His arms and back are covered in symbols. Few are done in dark ink, most are done in a lighter ink so they appear less prominent or a redder ink so they appear more like scars or burns. (Some of the images my have repeat symbols but some pictures had more than others.)
Eye on the back of his neck (The Cult symbol)
Symbols on his arms (literally covering them. The symbols don’t overlap but there are very few spots they don’t cover.) 1 2 3 4 5
Symbols on his back (Same again, most of his back is covered. Most of these are the sigils of different demons) 1 2 3 4 5
His one of his larger tattoos on the back of his left forearm.
Largest tattoo on his back in between his shoulder blades. done in dark ink
Chest tattoo
Connections
Poppy Pink - A fling he had a while back that ended up with her being the mother of his child. There are no feelings between the two of them anymore. Not that there were any on Bill’s side in the first place. But they’re friendly enough now. Poppy wanted him in their daughter’s life and Bill was happy to be a part of it.
Eris Pratten - Probably his favorite of his members and definitely one of his favorite people who has come to Corona. They have an odd relationship of getting on each other’s nerves just for the sake of making up for it. And Bill, who isn’t as subtle as he hopes, is definitely infatuated with Eris because of everything about her. And he’s very grateful for all she does to help cover up the cult and keep people from spreading information about it that he doesn’t want to spread (especially information about him being the leader.) He relies on her for more than he’d like to admit and would be maybe a little heartbroken if she ever truly hated him in a way more than their playful banter way of it all.
Lily Rose Cipher - Bill and Poppy’s daughter that Bill thinks the world of. He used to not like children, but he realized he loved his own children because that meant that she was an extension of him. She would carry on his legacy when he ascended to godhood. Because she had his DNA and she was surely meant to be special as well. Because that’s how children worked, right? They just became whatever you wanted them to be? But regardless of these more insanity driven reasons for caring for his daughter, Bill does genuinely care about her and fears the day Poppy finds out more about his bad habits or god forbid that he runs a cult. Because he really doesn’t want to lose visiting rights to her.
Branch Grey - Poppy’s boyfriend who’s the most paranoid person Bill has ever met. He doesn’t like or trust Bill, which is honestly fair and Bill gets it, but being his overconfident self, he doesn’t care and tells him to deal with the fact that he’s stuck with him in his life.
Stan Pines - Is definitely onto Bill in some way, and he knows it. He thinks it has something to do with his twin brother that went missing a while back. But Bill was barely in charge when that had happened. Though he does remember Ford. Interesting guy. Very gullible.
Dipper Pines - A conspiracy theorist that Bill wants to get to know better because he hopes he can convince him to trust him like his great uncle had. Not only to throw him off Bill’s trail for all that he does, but also to try and gather what information he’s gathered about the magic of Corona and its people.
Mabel Pines - Dipper’s sister who is definitely gullible enough to share her brother's information. He’d like to build up a trust with her so that she’ll give him information Dipper is too smart to share.
Wanted Connections
Friends? - Definitely people who don’t trust each other deep down. Friends for power; friends out of necessity. Friends that all are shitty people we love that.
Weird kids - People who know he’s into some weird and perhaps have theories that he runs the cult and just sort of… are interested? He doesn’t love young people so if they mess with him and annoy him that’s a good thing. Or on the other hand, people who feel lost and Bill can manipulate to his side and cause.
Exes - Bill doesn’t really do relationships so people he has been with have probably realized he didn’t care about them at all or that he had ulterior motives for dating them. They could still have feelings for him or they could hate him now. He honestly couldn’t care less either way.
Flings -  Bill is all for one night stands and casual hookups. Friends with Benefits also welcomed.
Anything - People who like him, people who hate him, people who are suspicious of him, literally anything. If you need an asshole for one of your plots, he’s good for it, just hit me up.

Movie Review: Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (POTC #5) (2017)

Genre: Action/Adventure/Fantasy
Rating: 10/10
Movie Review:
And here we are, at the end of this series (so far!). I hadn’t seen this movie since theaters as well, and let me tell you, I didn’t remember much other than specific moments.
But I loved this damn movie.
We have time jumped yet again (I heard a line from Barbossa about the time with the Fountain of Youth being 5 winters ago).
The opening scene was beautiful, guys, I swear to god. A young boy letting himself sink to the bottom of the sea to see his cursed father. And Will!! It had been too long. I had missed our Will Turner.
Henry Turner and Carina Smith were wonderful new additions to this series. Henry seemed like a great combination of his parents-- brave and strong and caring like his mother, fierce and willing to die for the people he loved like his father. Carina was bright and smart, a woman with her own mind and already outside of the realms of society, which was interesting to see. Remember what I said about Philip and Syrena in POTC 4 and how they felt lacking to the drive/point of the story? Compare them to these two. That is what I meant! Carina has the key to something, Henry is literally driving the story. They were specific to the storyline, they were the reason everything was happening. They felt important. They were so integrated to the story that it wouldn’t make sense without them. And they were delightful and fresh. I like to think that this movie, specifically, shows that important idea that the new generation will always make changes. The original trilogy was Will and Elizabeth, and this one is now Carina and Henry. They are trying to change everything.
Salazar is just such a good villain. THE EFFECTS! The idea that they looked like men underwater, even as ghosts, is so damn cool. I loved how there were missing pieces of them, that Salazar’s hair floating like in the midst of water. He was a good villain, to me (which is rare, people who know me will understand that), because of the simpleness of his drive. Think of Beckett-- he was a villain by manipulating, controlling, and just wiping out people because he could. But Salazar simply hated pirates, and it was all about revenge. He hated what Jack Sparrow had done to him (the slight backstory for Jack was so fresh and interesting, by the way!!!) and just wanted to eradicate them all because he was pissed at this curse. Javier Bardem was so incredible and he’s my mom’s favorite villain of the series (fun fact: Javier Bardem is married to Penelope Cruz in real life, and she played Angelica in POTC #4-- so they have both been in the POTC world!).
And we have our favorites back: Jack Sparrow and Hector Barbossa. We see Jack as a drunk after all this time, aging and in a rut. His entrance into this movie was hilarious (my mom always says that Jack Sparrow has the best entrances in any film ever), and it was a delight to see him as something he’d never been-- lost, not the best, and completely wasted. But at the heart, he was the same, and we watched him come back to life when there was a new adventure. He was returning to his old self with the help of these two young kids (who, we have to admit, probably reminds him of Elizabeth and Will, which makes him feel young again), and we saw him bloom back into the man we know and love. His humor is still there-- the best being when Carina undresses to swim away, and he tells Henry he could have seen a lot more than her ankles if he had kept his mouth shut-- and he’s still Jack Sparrow deep down. He’s just a little lost and has to find himself.
Barbossa’s arc finally came and blew me away. We see him at his prime as a pirate-- with a fleet!-- with so much gold and riches. He’s willing to cross a ghost pirate who can kill them all, he just wants power. Until he discovers that Carina, yes, is his daughter-- I remember guessing it at the very beginning of the movie when I saw it in theaters-- and suddenly, he’s changed for her. He sacrifices himself to save her, and finally completes an arc. I cried when I watched that scene, because it was beautiful. It is what (at least, to me) we had been wanting from Barbossa, to see him have something more important than power and wealth. Remember what I sad before about how love is the central storylines of these films?
The mythology of Poseidon’s trident is interesting and fresh, and its idea to end all curses was so cool to me. That whole scene “underwater” was fantastic and I remember that rather clearly in my mind. Thank god for the technology we have nowadays. My only question is: where is Poseidon? Why would his trident exist, but he would just leave it lying there? I believe there was a quick mention about it being left behind or something (does anyone remember a line?), but it still doesn't make sense to me. We brought in Calypso, why can’t we have Posiedon appear too??
I do have to say. That witch that Barbossa spoke with was really cool, but why was she there? To me, she had little part of the story, other than to offer some advice. Maybe they wanted to make her more important if there were movies?
The action was exciting (that whole execution scene is hilarious and the stealing of the bank was probably one of the biggest action sets I have ever seen performed), the humor was dark and witty and what we love about the movies, and it was bright and colorful (my theory about it being this way because it’s more about Jack than anyone else). This movie continues every aspect of what we love about these movies.
Now, let me talk about the ending. Will is no longer cursed. I started to cry when you see him walking on land. And I cried more when you see Elizabeth come over the hill and running to Will. How amazing, we ended with Will and Elizabeth once again!!!! Which just shows, this series was always theirs, from the very beginning to the end. They can be together after so long, they can love each other until it ends. I love that it wrapped up with them. We needed them.
And now, how about that very last ending scene after the credits? Davy Jones???!?!?! Now, hear me out. I have a theory: It’s actually Barbossa. Because honestly, they’ve brought him back to life before, and he’s such a fan favorite, that I don’t think they would let him go. So why not make him the new Davy Jones (though the curse is supposed to be over-- unless, you know, like Barbossa is, wants to live forever and still have some power)? Think about it. When Davy Jones walks in, the banging sounds like Barbossa’s wooden leg that he got in POTC #4. And another thing to further my theory-- I read online that Bill Nighy (who played Davy Jones) was never told that his character would make an appearance in that movie. So.......? What if?
Now that I am at the end, let me leave some final thoughts about the movies as a whole.
I know only one writer from the original movie was a part of ALL five movies. But I have to say-- these writers are masters as creating intriguing humans. Every single character is a specific person, with flaws and good things about them, with drives, with hopes and dreams. They suffer heartbreak, they win, they lose, they do it all. Now, as someone who writes, I know how hard it is to create a visual, intricate plot while also creating these vivid characters-- most writers say whether they are more plot driven or character driven (I myself am the latter). But these guys did both. They made fantastic plots and storylines for us to follow with layers of themes and things to think about. But they also created strong characters that we love and love to hate. Even though POTC #4 is a least favorite amongst most fans, I think the plot is still fun and the characters are the strongest part-- think of the stuff with Angelica and Blackbeard and such. The writers does an incredible job of making complicated characters and making them interesting so we find ourselves drawn to them.
And while these stories feature pirates (that we possibly glorify, when in real life, they were way worse) and action and fantasy and many great characters, I think at the very heart of these stories are love. We see it a common B-story that seems to me, turns into A-stories. Elizabeth and Will only join the world of pirates to protect each other, because they love one another. Jack saves Angelica because he actually loves her (though its complicated). Davy Jones became the monster we love because he had his heart broken and he ripped out his own heart. Henry went in search for Jack, Carina along the way, and the trident of Poseidon to break the curse on his father because he loves him. These stories are about people who love each other, or have love and lost, and it turns them into different sides, into different versions of people and pirates. Because honestly, love helps us decide how and who we are going to be, what we want to do. Love or lack of love makes and shapes us, and these stories represent that. There are so many layers of love (Jack for Will and Elizabeth, Barbossa for his daughter, Philip and Syrena, Blackbeard and Angelica, Gibbs for his captain, etc) that trickle into the stories. Love is what makes us bleed, and that’s what make these characters bleed as well. Yes, it’s about characters finding themselves, and discovering the truth about the world, but at the very root, at the heart, it’s about love. And no one can convince me otherwise.
These movies are about love, amongst people and pirates and fantasy and sea battles, and I think, at least for me, that’s why we love them. Because we understand, and we feel and love. That’s what it’s all about, isn't it?

☆ /  @irnmaidn :  🌠 give me all of them !!! 💖            SEND 🌠 && I'LL RECOMMEND A PLOT FOR US TO TRY OUT !!  || accepting !!
Tumblr media
i added a few recently too so like...this gonna be long sry....
☆ AHRI.   i mean...would cass like to meet a sexy fox spirit ?? because she could if she wants !! she’s curious && fairly cordial but she’s very deadly && mysterious && just kind of comes off with an air of uncertainty whether u should trust her or not && i think that’d be fun with cass cause we kno she loves dangerous mysterious women with a taste for biting wit. but in my tangled verse it’s similar to her canon -- she’s a fox spirit && has been alive for so long, ever searching for where her people like her are && where she came from. so perhaps cass could run into her && help ahri post series ?? or she could simply be along for the ride with mysterious && selfish reasons she won’t say but either way it’s always interesting to think about when her cloak finally drops && cass gets to find out about the fox ears && nine tails ;’) also she’d probably flirt with cass sry not sry
☆ NEEKO.   iiim admittedly still working on her tangled verse cause she’s a chameleon but pls love my lesbian chameleon girl she deserves the world tbh ?? she’s extremely sweet despite her entire tribe being destroyed && killed && she FELT every single bit of it && felt her people fade away. she’s pure sunshine but she WILL fight when she has to, when there’s no other option or when people with good sho’ma are endangered. she’s looking to make a new tribe for herself now -- made up of everyone, not just oovi-kat, so she really takes in everyone who she can && who is willing. she can shapeshift by extending her sho’ma to other’s sho’ma which is a sort of spiritual essence && she can borrow their appearance, gain current emotional state && recent memories to better camouflage as them && immediately kno friend from foe so i think it’d be rly neat tbh for cass to encounter that ?? plus with neeko she wouldn’t have to open up too much or have to fight to express her emotions or voice them since neeko can feel && sense && taste emotion -- they have colours && tastes to her. she can also split herself into two, sending out a clone of herself while she becomes invisible && has a lot of floral / plant based magic as well so i think she’d rly vibe with ur cass portrayal !! but tbh she’s very chipper upbeat && kinda rapunzely personality wise -- she’s just very curious about the world && wants to learn everything since she was from a magical tribe that isolated themselves from the world, so for hundreds of years she’s literally ONLY known her tribe && their home && it’s EXTREMELY different from the world ?? she’s so used to not physically speaking && just extending sho’ma && reading emotions from each other, so she struggles with communication && that can frustrate her sometimes, but she’s knows emotions && she can see past like faking things or past all those walls she’s got up !! it’d be neat...theyd be....cute tbh... i rambled too much but i just rly love neeko sm n if u wanna kno more about her or any of these u can ask too !! also...not for nothing but neeko rly rly loves n swoons for strong badass ladies !!
☆ KINDRED.    kindred is literally just...y’kno...death, the grim reaper whatever u wanna call them !! they’re as old as the concept of death && started as one man who cleaved himself in two so he’d have a friend -- they understand the deep pain of loneliness despite having each other now because they were born from loneliness. they’d sense that from her && i think there’s plenty of times she could have met them, when death was near to her or around her && theyre certainly not entirely happy about her resurrection. they’re easily translatable into any verse but they are very ethereal && magical && love to play with people. so anything considering death. near death or perhaps just running into them if cass happens near a particularly brutal bandit robbery about to take place on the road that ultimately she wont be able to stop even if they tell her about it :’)
☆ HANA.   hjdksmd u kno i love these already n all we’ve talked about aa !! but also i’d literally be up for anything i love them sm already !! but like ?? soft moments ?? cass getting to come to her kingdom ?? getting to pilot the mechs n getting to just uuhhhh live her life be free n be happy ??
but also :eyes: hehe what if we also have a plotline where hana finds out about the moonstone thing n meets her while she has the moonstone n tries to talk her down :’) possibly mushy stuff they don’t wanna say could come out too mayhaps
☆ AMITY.   she’s a little witch !! in her tangled verse she’s still a witch but she && her family are more in hiding about their powers && school so they’re all hidden away but amity’s family is a very, very noble family with a lot of money && power -- which extends to magic too lol. but it’d be Neat to meet cass n like amity looking up to her ?? she’s a lot like cass tbh, pretentious mean girl type who is rly rly icy n mean n sassy on the outside but she’s soft inside she just CANNOT show weakness n she oof is rly oppressed by her family n standards set for her n she ALSO has a crush on a sunshine girl who happens to be human. n she reads to younger kids n helps them out she’s softe secretly...just has a lot of pressure on her -- her parents wont let her hang around witches with lesser talent either. they’d get along i think after like tension but she’s just a lil teen witch n needs a good strong role model but she could also help cass out with the whole magic thing ykno ??
☆ PERFUMA.   ooooh they’d be cute !! perfuma is just...so sweet n positive n !! i’d love to interact with her in any of ur she.ra verses or i could absolutely try to fit her into a tangled verse but i’d absolutely want to keep her plant powers but that’d be neat with ur cass n her powers too !!
oh !! or aaalso, concept: we could have perfuma interacting with chrys !! n like when her n cass start working with the princess alliance n her helping them out n giving them insider info even if shes nervous n its dangerous n just perfuma helping her with that n giving her pep talks about her being brave ?? helping her with fashion stuff, helping her adjust to life where her sister can’t help as much ?? that’d be so cute bhadjksbh
☆ AKALI.   hehehee akali n cass would be hilarious at first i swear it -- they’re both headstrong, stubborn && sassy tbh. she’s from an order of acolytes that try to keep the balance of the spiritual / magical realm && the outside realms; she was raised in it && her mother && father were higher ups && very powerful in the order -- her father died in an attack led by her master’s friend on the order && they had to flee && try to remake with smaller ranks when she was very young. she succeeded her mother as the fist of the shadow but could not vibe with the way her master wasn’t taking action like she wanted to -- she wanted to restore balance in her way && she wanted to spill blood to do it because that’d be the only way to do it, so as an adult she just peaced off to do it her own way. && tbh that could fit in with a tangled verse -- just in the shadows, keeping the balance of magic unseen to most. she’s a trained assassin && she can literally throw three kunai && pierce three different hearts while in the midst of a smoke bomb like she’s insanely good -- she is also tiny n has some amazing muscles on her arms back && has very visible abs n she sexy n she kills me daily !! but they could get along ?? she does some magic but she was never the best at it tbh but depending on where in the timeline they meet it could be interesting ?? like s1 would be neat for her to meet someone like akali ?? another strong woman fighter but she also comes from a place that praised women’s strength instead of putting it down -- buuuuut she was hiiiighly ignored by her own mother in favour of another neophyte growing up so....ykno...Mood right ?? it stings a lot -- she saved everyone from a corrupted tree spirit n had the girl she looked up to spit in her face because she lost her leg n blamed it on akali && then her mother praised the girl instead of akali despite the other kids telling her what akali had done n singlehandedly dragged them to safety n she was like around nine or ten or so at the time... but it’d be cool if they met s1 n got to kno each other n maaaybe akali joins them on their journey since it has a lot to do with restoring the magical balance of the world n they could use a master assassin but also...the angst with cass taking the moonstone n the conflict akali would face about having to oust her cause ykno...shes fucking up the balance n thats her ykno....entire purpose riiiip
☆ WIDOWMAKER.   IDK BUT OOF i love widow. i haven’t thought about a tangled verse or a fantasy verse but like uuhhh something about being a french noblewoman married to a freedomfighter but ending up being brainwashed by some magical sect or talon but they’re part of zhan tiris crew or whatever ?? might be neat. she killed her husband && she’s just a little bit possessed now && a ruthless killer. so maaaaaybe....her trying to stop them on their journey to the dark kingdom ?? but her brainwashing starts wearing off the more she’s away from the source tbh -- but also, she’d be on cass’ side when she has the moonstone n honestly that’s very powerful, she’d have a very powerful ally to keep her on track && help like tell her she’s doing great because in the end she’s on zhan tiris side && she can probably see her the whole time && would be working to help get her back to power. also up in the air whether she ends up regaining herself later on && helping cass escape or whatever but she’d feel intensely guilty yikes but anyway i think it’d be honestly rly rly interesting n i’d love to do something with this if u’d be up for it bhdajkmd n like i said we can talk about any of these if u want too !!
☆ BENSON.   i have zero ideas for this right now because his series is just so far removed from tangled....it’s a post apocalyptic universe where there’s extremely large animals some of which can talk n want to destroy humans who all live under the surface mostly except the ones who try to survive on the surface. TBH u’d love it...i think u’d love wolf specifically too ?? i dont wanna spoil anything but yeah it might be something u might enjoy ??
but also like mlm wlw solidarity pls ?? he’s a pretty carefree but smart gay teen, he’d get along pretty well with her n play off her iciness cause he’s just like that ?? he started off just caring only for himself n his bug buddy n just thieving a lot but like got a lot of character development -- but i guess he could be a thief in tangled verse ?? n like grow out of it or she could show him there’s better ways n stuff ?? idk...
