The pepper spray scene was a must, I really only regretted the lack of "oh yeah our souls are bound btw" reveal in canon, because, let's be honest, Barbara finding out by pepper spraying Strickler in her panic is hilarious <3

And ough, that moment in the backyard - that conversation is so important to me because yes, it's the base for their friendship! After the basement and the tension about Aaarrrgghh, this is the proof that not all is lost, that Jim can forgive if not forget, and that he's willing to do so. Angor may not ask for forgiveness, but it is waiting for him in form of one very kind young boy (who is also not above simply vetoing Angor's veto to their friendship hfdjks)

I'm honestly so glad too that the Deya Angor friendship is fun - I just felt like her absence in the council deserved an explanation, and well, there's a walking talking Trollhunters-hunting explanation right there! And then I had to make it pain, because I also really wanted to have this in the series:

I just love connecting dots and making sense of processes and developments too much to not invent a whole friendship too!

Oh, and also!! While on the topic of Angor's eyes and connecting dots - absolutely seconding you, it's so cool his eyes turn white in canon when the Inferna Copula breaks! Hadn't thought about the color spectrum and what white meant for that, but that's so neat! And, additionally, the fun fact - the letter on his ring is the Trollish "A", a monogram, and the yellow matches (some of the hues of) his eyes! It's his soul, and so it's colored like it, too! (Did I obsessively take screenshots to compare colors? Maybe so. I have whole folders of screenshots for character references, I need those!)

Gobbling all of this up and also channeling it into more writing - "Groundwork" will have some delightful Claire and Angor interactions, I just gotta finish writing it! With your art I've had a burst in motivation, so thank you!!

Jim is about to add another redeemed antagonist into his family tree. Strickler is his step dad, Nomura is the wine aunt, Angor Rot...is the weird uncle nobody talks about and has an insane lore.

Also I just noticed about Angor Rot's design, specifically the colour. I don't know if it's coincidental or not but I LOVE LOVE how they chose to make his eyes turn white when he lost his soul. I thought they'd turn duller color of yellow but nope!

It's really interesting for me because the white colour is a colour that reflects back all the visible wavelengths of light, contrast to the colour of black that absorbs all. So, in a way, the white colour rejects any light. It holds nothing at all.

And you know what the usual saying about eyes?

Eyes are the window to your soul.

When his eyes turn white, it means there's nothing there. No soul. Empty.

Also Lavenoon, I love the GIF you made! Yeah give that skinny skeleton looking something fuzzy and warm! I wanted to draw Angor in a sweater but!! Maybe later 😀
