So I decided to watch a bit of Bridgerton with my mother, which I'm not really interested in (I don't really like period pieces unless it's a fanfic for a ship I like) but it's a show she enjoys so I sometimes catch her watching it and join her, and literally the only takeaway from the stuff I've seen with her is that Colin, Lord Debling, and Penelope should have all been poly

Finished Series, Spring-Summer 2024: Time Patrol Bon (T・P BON)

"Namihira Bon. Just as my name implies, I've always been average at everything. But I'm actually a Time Patrol agent. I neither particularly stand out, nor am I disliked. I'm not in any clubs, I don't have any special interests either. But then, an unexpected encounter led me to become a Time Patrol agent. I had a senior agent, I had my first job, I was recognized as an official agent, and I got a junior. As a team, we went to different times and did lots of Time Patrol missions. Being a Time Patrol agent taught me one thing. Around historically important events, there are always ordinary people whose names we don't even know. They live their ordinary lives, laughing and crying. History is built by many people who don't stand out. I came to love my job as a Time Patrol agent, helping people whose names aren't widely known. Now, I can proudly say... Being ordinary is cool.

i'm a little sad at how sparse steddyhands and stizzy art and writing is on here now after the finale (thankfully, i am still digging through the couple thousand fics up on ao3 so i'm not totally bereft)

because during the airing of the season there was new stuff in the tags every day, sometimes even every few hours, but i think the finale really punched all of us in the face

there's lots of good stuff from before s2 to go digging through of course, and ao3 and twitter still have some new art and fic and memes if you go looking for it, but the difference from before and now seems a bit stark

don't misunderstand me, this isn't me being defeatist, just being a bit melancholy (and mad at the s2 finale tbh lol) about it. shout out to the regulars i see in the tags still making stuff and posting jokes, ya'll are doing the most and i wish you all the passion and motivation and time to create in the world <3

I just saw the new episode (finally) and am absolutely obsessed with these screenshots of Gene:

Also, the way Big Bob won a giant gorilla for the kids without hesitation is the cutest and funniest thing ever. And he just carries it with him for the rest of the episode 😭

@br1ghtestlight has speculated that Bob is Neurodivergent because of Big Bob and this episode and this moment just confirms it. He’s very Autistic.

okay. so. i did not vibe with the latest doctor who episode a lot? and idk why exactly. i did still enjoy it for the most part! do love that we're getting more explicit queer romance on the show, but idk it didn't feel...genuine? especially with the doctor saying that ruby's his best friend but then abandoning her to aliens for most of the episode. i'm like really feeling that the overarching plot must be about storytelling. like especially all the blatant references to bridgerton INCLUDING the bad guys and poker face covers. and the teaser line about it being the doctor's life they're playing out. i'm hoping that the arc is kind of about how something (pantheon character?) is kind of controlling the doctor/ruby's story to hit the beats it's supposed to bc its tv but is doing so in a non-organic way which is why the season feels so disjointed and very telling-not-showing. also the weird 6 month time jump between Space Babies and Boom. otherwise i'mgonna feel like it was just kind of poorly written. like! to be clear! i am still enjoying the show! but not as much as i have other seasons

The holidays are here at last! A time to spend with family and friends, eating too much food and having fun with your new toys.

And yet... instead... here you are.

Appearing to me like an angel from above, a gift clutched tightly in your shivering hands. There's fresh snow on your hair, because you're too stubborn to wear a hat. It's bracingly cold upon my fingers as I brush it away, leaving glistening trails of cyan satin in its wake.

It's a beautiful gold locket you hand to me, and inside is a picture of your family from when you were young. Mom, dad, and brother too... they all look so happy there. And there I am, I realise, just peeking out from beneath your hair.

You help me put it on, fingers delicate as a cool breeze upon my neck. The metal rests gently against my heart, a cherished memory from a different time. I see you smile - such a rare treasure! - and something clicks. All at once I know - this is how it is supposed to be.

Your red eyes shine like warning lights as I approach. Our noses graze each other, as weightless as a snowflake... you do not back away. Vapour trails mingle between our open mouths, fingers meandering through each other's hair. Lips so hot, spiced like mulled wine, drinking in your kisses, a relentless blizzard that leaves me breathless. Hearts and bodies pulled together, as if magnetised.

Never did I dare to dream that you would choose this... choose me. At last, I am back where I've always belonged... your presence here is the greatest gift I could have ever asked for.

the banter in s1 (2005) doctor who is actually so incredibly scripted and acted. like. most of the quips and running gags are so simple yet they’re so damn affective

actually bob was such a dick to gene in the earlier seasons im glad they decided that bob and gene dont have to be the stereotypical "feminine/nerdy son and old fashioned dad who doesnt understand him" dynamic bcuz its much cuter just having these family members who love each other so much and clearly just share so many of the same passions!!!!! sorry their relationship is so amazing

The way that Stede treated Izzy during episode 3 were some of the ONLY times I could stand seeing Izzy on screen so far this season because it finally felt like someone who recognized him and was treating him rationally tbh

I adore this show and the people who worked on it, but ffs, it feels like they all enjoyed Con too much and the Izzy-Enjoyers Fanon of his character last season and jumped the gun on his redemption arc.

I'm going to go through and explain this more, but I just wanted to put that out there first while I lay out why Stede's expressions and reactions make so much more sense coming out of season 1's events.
