I am not sorry.

Binary Vampire prequel sorta?

Feat. some of my raw sketches lol. Idk first time posting here thats not some low quality shitpost ig

Since most ppl agree that Binary vampire parallels with actual revale it shouldn’t come as a surprise I made banri a vampire too. In my headcanon him and yuki were some kind of vampire duo who hunts together for food. Oh and they live together in some abandoned castle (from banri’s long dead family maybe). You could probably also put something about Yuki-vampire initially being isolated because of his vampirism and Banri-vampire opening him up a little on the idea of not having to spend eternity alone.

Then their notoriety for killing increased and got the attention of famed vampire hunter Kujo Takamasa while on his search for the First Vampire, Zero. Takamasa originally approached them peacefully and promises them safety if they join him in searching for Zero. Being a prideful vampire, Yuki doesn’t shy away from showing his disinterest and annoyance with the man. Takamasa is turned away from the castle and things were normal for a while. That is until villagers head to their castle shouting for the demons be killed. Shit hit the fan, they fend off for a while until someone shoots the chandelier it falls into the ground ala phantom of the opera (you could tell I love me my gothic fiction).

This almost falls into Yuki-vampire but Banri-vampire pushes him away just in time but ultimately gets him instead. Its basically the stagelight incident but make it

The chandelier causes a fire trapping the vampires as the villagers make their escape. Unbeknownst to anyone this was actually a plot by Takamasa to drive the duo away from their home and maybe consider joining his side. His plan is a fail though as Yuki-vampire is too distraught over banri vampire being unable to regenrate from underneath the chandelier and himself collapses from all the smoke (I am so sorry for making vampires really weak in this one).

Years, decades, pass and the old castle is now a ruin of its former glory. Sometime in the middle, yuki-vampire regained consciousness with banri-vampire nowhere to be seen. With his hesitance to approach humans, he is unable to regain his powers causing the wild beasts of the forest to rampage (and ig he adapts vampire vegetarianism?). It was then that a young orphan enters the ruins in search of a demon but instead finds a curled-up weakened man, finally kicking off the plot of binary vampire. (Sorry for the naked yuki it is not canon my own demons possessed me)

I haven’t read any fanfics or anything of that sort after the anni released (which reminds me I definitely should) so sorry if there were any similarities 🙇‍♀️

I lowkey wished they had separate names for the charas like they do with the kujis unless we are just supposed to call them “Orphan” and “Demon/Vampire”??

I also made sketches of other charas (mostly those related to revale) as au-compliant charas in the binary vampire sequel im cooking so look forward to that. Anyways thats it from me *bites and sucks ur blood*

so many feelings, most of them mixed.

i love the thottest (not hottest) band in the world. i love the drama, the goofiness, the tragedy, the sheer unbridled capitalism, the homoeroticism, the utter stupidity. and i love most of all a version of the band that hasn't existed since i was ten years old.

i'm thirty-four.

i don't usually blog too much about my kiss experiences for a lot of reasons, one being that, oddly enough, it tends to feel a little too personal for a blog that's mostly shitposts and fanfic.

i enjoyed the nyc takeover/popup store (i'm not generally a merch person, but they had better designs overall than usual, including a great scarf that i'm sure is probably now up for hundreds on ebay)-- it was cool to see those kiss aspects on the street, on the metro cards, and on the empire state building. in person, i didn't feel it was quite as much of a takeover as was hyped, but that was to be expected in a city so gigantic and i have no complaints. it was cool just to have what was there, although i do wish i could've gotten a kiss cookie!

friday's show was pretty close up, which is always fun. i am basically always on stage left due to that being where paul will do his little ride to the b-stage. gene kept trying not to cry-- paul actually didn't seem that emotional. had a really lovely chat with the guy in the seat next to me (who was from the bronx) before the show started, about kiss and NYC in the seventies/eighties and today.

friday was not sold out.

second/last show was up quite a bit higher but was facing the stage-- overwhelming, not just from the emotions of it being the last show, and paul clearly doing the best he could, and gene clearly being about to cry the entire, entire time-- but also because i've just seldom gotten to see the whole stage from kiss before. the whole tableau out there is really fantastic. in all the times i've seen them, i had never even realized that paul's stage is lit up and has that star pattern before! i liked the somewhat cage effect going on during paul's b-stage bit.

i wasn't much for the interviews and so on beforehand-- criss angel in particular i wasn't a fan of. the part with the kids was okay. not really sure what was going on with the kiss kosplay aspect but all right. i had vague hopes that they would do a little 5-10 minute retrospective bit, taking the audience through some of their history, have clips, etc.-- would've been a cool touch. i had absolutely no real expectations of ace or peter (or anyone else that was formerly in kiss) actually being there, but thought a recorded greeting might be possible. i would have liked them at minimum to have been mentioned. (to really have gotten a full 50 years' perspective, all former members should have at least gotten a mention somewhere.)

"beth" got me a little emotional, but i was surprised at how by the end of the concert i wasn't as devastated as i'd expected. i guess i had come to terms with a world without kiss.

and then we, uh. well, we, uh, got the avatar announcement.

um.

yeah.

maybe it's my own fearful mortality peeking through, but i kept thinking of the theological idea of the eternal perspective. to me personally it goes a little deeper than "time is short, focus on the correct/most important aspects of your life;" an eternal perspective also is considerate of the aspects of others' lives. as i've gotten older, i've started to understand a lot of things i never did before, about other people, the way they viewed/handled things as opposed to the way i did, etc. the older i get, the more i see where i've consistently messed up, and where i've failed, or, at least, made a situation worse instead of better. and, maybe, sometimes, it's let me see that i need to let up and let go.

kiss owes no one anything. not a lineup, not a recording, not an experience (except one that's been paid for). their legacy is borne out of the blood, sweat and tears of ten members total, a half-dozen or more managers-- though all principal credit is due to bill aucoin-- brilliant producers, and hundreds of roadies, bodyguards, techs, costume designers, press agents, and so on who believed in them. but i would hate for the four beasties of rock and roll to never see each other again until one of them is covered up in flowers in the back of a black limousine, and sadly, this is looking more and more like this may be the case.

i am grateful for this band and the wonderful people it's caused me to meet and befriend (especially my dear friends that came with me, @hillsofuhhtennessee and @elrohare! we had the most incredible time!!), and how it's pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me broaden my horizons. i am grateful for the experiences and the memories. kiss has always been there for me in the very lowest times of my life, and my hope still is, that maybe someday, they could be there for each other and mend some fences before the real end of the road for all of them.

Above everything and always I will be a robot enjoyer. I love violent robots, funny robots, detailed robots, cute robots, anything but sexualized robots, please don’t do that.

As for current games, I’m very very big into my Nine Sols brainrot era, somewhat moderately playing Honkai Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero whenever they get content updates, and will always be a Souls and Armored Core fan. I know of Rain World, I wish I could get into it more, but I know of it. Oneshot holds an eternal grip on my heart as well. OH AND ULTRAKILL I FORGOT TO MENTION ULTRAKILL EARTHMOVER AND GUTTERTANK MY BELOVED I NEED MORE GUTTERTANK PLEASE. Also the entire risk of rain franchise im just adding games when i think of them now tbh.

As my previous games show, my interest is generally in difficult souls/souls-likes and narratively strong games, though I’ll play just about anything if it has a lot of robots in it or just outright looks appealing.

My music taste is horrible, I listen to VGM, Djent Metal, lofi, anything electronic, and everything in-between. I will always take song suggestions if you want to offer them. I would say I have a music addiction if 160k minutes on Spotify Wrapped says anything.

Creatively, I’ve always been best at writing. I’ve tried my hand at music, am beginning to finally learn art, but words have always been my forte. I’ve used this passion for writing to do quite a lot of online Roleplaying, generally in style of typical DnD, but also in more narrative-driven formats. I’ve made OCs for a good chunk of years of my life, having made short stories for my favorites and such, some of which I may share here someday. I wouldn’t even begin to say my writing is anything special, but I like to do it, and the people I’ve shared it with seem to think it’s alright.

Outside of my online degeneracy, I enjoy tennis and pickleball. I’m pretty active, loving to hike and climb/clamber. I greatly enjoy primitive camping and the outdoors regardless of weather, almost finding it more fun if I’m with the right people when the conditions are less than optimal.

Why I’m on Tumblr

I’m almost ashamed to say the reason I found Tumblr was the glorious Nine Sols Shitpost tag. I finished the game and my hyperfixation was so bad that I just started scouring the internet for any ounce of content I could get my hands on. Given my background with roleplaying stuff and shitposting, coupled with my new obsession of a game interest and a desire to start digital art, it was a perfect storm to get me to both join Tumblr and start drawing.

Now I’m here to keep up with those goals. I wanna keep providing comedic content on shitpost blogs, working on general art skills so that at the very least I can make decent-enough references for my often complicated roleplay-centric projects, and most of all, looking at content for games I enjoy, hopefully making some new pals in the process.

The Mummy vs Titanic

A PbtA party game where the movie The Mummy takes place inside the movie Titanic. Everyone grabs a bunch of playbooks (The Mummy, The Iceberg, The Peasant, The Academic, etc) and creates a madcap story while trying to make it to the lifeboats in time. While the story can go any number of ways, two things must happen.

The mummy must get its revenge.

The ship must sink.

Most of this is done, but I need to get some good playtesting sessions in to polish it, and that's hard!

I've returned to listening Evanescence (well, basically I'm listening them my whole life), and since I've started to understand song's lyrics way better than before (english isn't my first language) I just... can't stop thinking that some of them are perfect for describing romance with Astarion, him Ascended especially. Like... Were scriptwriters listening this too while working on him??? Wtf why it fits him so damn well- Alright I've just realised that it's just maybe the most basic foundation of uh evil toxic fictional relationship if I can even name it like that, but nevertheless I just can't make my brain not jiggle inside my skull about this everything. So i just wanted to express some appreciation, not only for your beautiful fix-it fic (levi and his mom!! mikasa protecting armin!! queen ymir the wise!! ), but for all your rm works. for loving this ship and for sharing your talent with us. for still being here, despite it all. for your shitposts and regular posts. you're a real one, alien, a wonderful, generous writer and just overall so hugely inspiring. we've always been so lucky to have you. thank you so much!

Thank you, anon! This is probably the nicest message I've ever gotten. I really am in my feels about SNK ending for real, even though my feelings on the series are very mixed, being a part of this fandom has genuinely changed my life. I've made so many friends around the world, I've rediscovered my love for writing, I've created so many things and had so much fun being an unhinged fangirl with all of you. It's also wild to look back on the last 9 years, where I started at 27 and where I am now at 36, and how much I have developed as a person and as an artist thanks to the work I did for this fandom and the people I made that work for.

Even though the story of SNK was pretty disappointing in the end (and MAPPA is on my eternal shitlist for excluding basically every RM crumb), it was the journey and the people we spent it with that made it great. I could not have done what I did without your support and the support of everyone else in the ship, all the kudos, comments, likes, reblogs, and messages. I couldn't have chosen a better group of people to go insane over the Ackermans with.

I will say, having watched the last episode and having had a few hours to think about it, I do think it was a vast improvement over the manga and I see more of what Yams was trying to get at. I still disagree with a lot of the choices made and I think he told the story ineffectively because we needed to see the female characters interacting rather than Eren and Armin talking about it, and we needed to see more development of the character's emotions towards each other, especially with regard to the romantic aspects of the story. A lot of us got into SNK because there were non-sexualized female characters that were given weight and interesting storylines, and ultimately this was the downfall of the series because the narrative didn't give almost all of these women the attention they deserved, Mikasa in particular.

I hope people stick around even though the series is over, or maybe we'll find a new ship together. I highly recommend joining the Rivamika Discord if you haven't already for chaotic, delulu fun and a great group of people. RM has always been a space where we encouraged each other and held together because it's such a small ship, and I'm so happy that we managed to cultivate a ship with so many nice, kind people, with only a small handful of bad apples who largely stay out of the way of the people who are just here to have fun. I'm glad that I could contribute to that, and I hope that I was able to provide some excitement or relief or comfort to people who needed it, or who just wanted to read some Ackersmut. I hope all of you had as much fun as I did.

Consider the NPC might actually be alive

This is thought experiment that doesn't hold much weight currently, as generative AI and language models have not reached any sentience yet. But it's an interesting proposition regardless

Take the worm, with recent development scientist have been able to (more or so) replicate its brain onto a machine.

Now, as smart as a worm is, it's still a very basic creature, not dense of complex. But we consider it to be "alive". Is this new, digital worm also alive? The answer that comes to mind is 'no'.

There can be several reasons why we believe the digital worm, is not alive. It can't reproduce, it is not made of biological matter, it does not conduct any homeostasis within itself (any bodily process) therefore it isn't alive.

All of these are valid in a normal world view, but if you want to waste more of your time

then Is a sterile human not alive, because it cannot reproduce?

With the second argument, we can bring in the ship of Theseus, is a half man, half machine not alive, if half and half can be considered alive, then is a man, completely imported into a machine who is still capable of rational thoughts and feelings, is that man not alive?

Alright, so we say the digital worm is "alive", its alive, and being alive has nothing to do with your bodily material. Then, what happens if say I give this worm the controls in a video game. Its still the worm, and this has been done before, not exactly with a worm, rather braincells.

Say these digital worms are, trained to respond like NPCs in a video game, like a villager. If we agree, that the worm is alive in its biological body, and it is still alive if its brain is successfully imprinted onto a digital medium, then, what happens if its transferred to a video game?

Now, this is all thought experiment land, bringing "common sense" logic and appealing to previously agreed terms will shut this down easily. How silly, a worm? It gets sillier, what stops our already existing NPCs from being considered "alive", they're not humans, they're not smart, but what stops the villager from Minecraft being considered "alive". It reacts to stimuli, it has "homeostasis" (trades? and they do maintain things) they "reproduce".

Of course, the villager is not alive, it is preprogramed to behave in a certain way, but then again.

Isn't the worm also preprogramed? It sure as hell doesn't attend school, I know, lazy bastards.

The worm is programmed by "Nature" or by the world and time itself, life, as it has begun from the single cells organisms in primordial pools of life material, its all just a stumble and tumble experiment, whatever survives is what goes on. There's no intelligent design process here (depends if you believe in god). I don't claim to believe NPC's are actually alive, but as technology will progress, the existential question of what being "alive" means will be asked more and more.

This is one of those "Rokos basilisk" type shit, where yes, you might just be doomed for eternity just by knowing something, but you know in all honestly that its just a shit post. (Check out Roko's Basilisk, its very cool)

SHAKES AND WHIMPERS finally someone asks me about my wips............. oh dear oh dear oh dear. Trembling wet and pathetic awkwardly holds out 25 pages of handwritten Mairon apologism covered in blood sweat tears . This is one of those ones that I'm terrified I'm going to be dogpiled over in the fandom because. Silmarillion fandom. Intimidating. This is the first time I've read the book and these bitches are veritable scholars in Arda history and languages. Like they have damn phds. doctarates. I'm just like hi I think he did nothing wrong ever except for all the atrocities and the atrocities were fine because it's international womens day and hes like a woman to me.

Anyway I should. Actually explain them i just I have two things going on one of them is just. Six pages of independent ramblings written all at once fueled by "I just woke up with the sickest ass line of dialogue ever conceived and I need to bring it to justice Right Fucking Now" and the other is what will probably end up being a chapter fic with six or seven chapters though I haven't. Decided what point I'll end it at. I'm two chapters deep and I have tons of motivation rn so hopefully. Things will continue that way because god have I been known to abandon works of that length. The first mentioned one is well. I think it's just such a funny quirky girl trait of his to have not only founded a human sacrifice death cult but to have gotten it sugar daddy funded by batting his eyelashes at the king of Numenor it's just. 📡why is writing and sharing your writing important for fandom?

I mean that's like, half of what fandom is. It's sharing words (both fanfic and headcanons/shitposts/analysis/incorrect quotes etc) and images (art/memes/edits/screencaps etc). We wouldn't really fandom without it.

🍭why did you start writing?

It's really just how my brain works? I can communicate so much better written than out loud. I've literally been writing since before I can remember. Both my parents are writers and my parents tell me I narrated stories out loud to myself at night before I knew how to write on paper. I just. I really liked saying things and telling stories and once I started I pretty much never stopped though of course the writing I did as a first grader was not the same kind that I do now.

🎈describe your style as a writer; is it fixed? does it change?

I mean, as a fanfic writer I always try to make my writing fit the mood of its source material, so there is definitely a lot of variation between say, my lotr fics and my owari no seraph fics. But I know that I do have many qualities of my writing that are recognizable throughout pretty much everything I do. I have a rather pretentious style, and I focus significantly on body language, exaggerated emotion, flowery metaphors, and internal dialogue. But my humorous work does sound pretty different, though I mostly don't do that unless it's for a general audience who I feel insecure being flowery and sincere around.

Aww, ok. I mean I think the best thing about my writing is that it fits my personal tastes perfectly. I write 99 percent for myself and the other 1 percent for the six people on the internet who will froth at the mouth over it. I write mostly to articulate and cement my Strong Feelings About Concepts And Ideas and writing them helps me literally understand how I feel about things and what it really is I'm trying to get at. It's an added bonus that other people also like it :)

🍉in what ways has writing helped you process trauma and/or navigate through your own life?

I can't really say I'm a super trauma-ridden individual, though I guess I've had my moments. Mainly writing does for me what I said above. I turn to it to have peace of mind and delve into the concepts that thrill and move me. When I feel overwhelmed and empty and unsatisfied and confused I know it's because I haven't written recently. Maybe thats the autism

🦋what are you most insecure about when you post a fic?

There's always just the general anxiety that it will be seen by the general fandom as uncalled for and cringe. I'm always worried I will be seen as a Fake Intellectual for my pretentious style and often limited knowledge on the source material and I'm worried especially when I enter a new fandom that I'll just be completely off and get 80 billion things wrong. The more I interact with, know about and post for a fandom, the less anxious I get because it's been established people like it and aren't gonna kill me.

it sounds like a shitpost and it kind of is but it's also a really fun way to play somewhat low-power magic and discover hidden gems that are usually overshadowed. we've been playing it quite a bit in our playgroup and having a lot of laughs when someone busts out some fucking insane weird-ass card like 'brass wasp'. try ods with your friends today :)
