Hello, everyone!

It has been a while since my last devlog. Like........almost 5 months or so. There was a chapter update tucked away in there somewhere, but I still feel like I've been slacking. Sorry about that!

I figured it was about time I put out a full progress update. I've mentioned this on my blog a few times, but up until this month I dealt with some pretty severe writer's block. Thankfully, I've managed to break free of it, though! I've gotten back into the swing of writing every day this month. It's been great, and I'm quite happy with how the chapter is progressing.

Unfortunately, my goal of getting an update out by the blog/game's anniversary (December 23rd, I believe?) probably is not possible. But! I'm fairly certain that if I keep up the speed I'm writing at currently, the update will be out sometime in January. No promises, but I'm quite hopeful.

Chapter 3 has a lot going on. The first few scenes are quite branch-y and code heavy, and there are several other scenes I'm packing into the second half of the chapter. I can't wait to share them c:

Sea Serpent Hobie who attacks big commercial fishing boats that are destroying the ecosystem by overfishing

But also benign Sea Serpent Hobie, who aids those lost at sea!

Who helps smaller local fishing buisnesses with sustainable fishing

Who looks out for this small fishing community and in return they warn him whenever hunters show up in the area!

Sea Serpent Hobie who is huge but still manages to hide perfectly in the kelp forests!

Who has bioluminescence and uses it both to terrify enemies and as a way to calm down people in distress, as a way for him to signal goodwill - and to show off when he feels like it!

Who can change his pigmentation similarly to octopi to communicate his mood and feelings! Or just to blend in with his surroundings (also as a nod to the way he changes filters in the movie!)

Sea Serpent Hobie who's frequently seen swimming with whale pods- Orcas being his favourites to hang out with (they sometimes go on yacht sinking trips together)

Sea Serpent Hobie who likes to give people a show and will show off by breaching right next to unsuspecting boats

U: “Ugh, boys can be really dense sometimes, do you know that?” Mimi huffed. (from my Digimon fanfic for FTH exploring aromanticism, asexuality, and friendship in the wake of a onesided crush)

I: It wasn't until glass was flying through the air, accompanied by screams from the gala attendees, that Bruce realized what it was that made the Bromfields catch his attention--they reminded him of his parents. (From my FTH story about the Marvel family going to Gotham)

C: Candles, flowers, and other small offerings were placed at the foot of statues of him that had been erected throughout the city, like offerings at the altars of a beloved god. (from a future chapter of Pretty Little Thing)

E: Even if his body had been free from its bonds, there were still enough drugs in his system that he had no faith in his ability to run. (also from a future chapter of Pretty Little Thing)

This was so fun! and I got to showcase all of the WIPs I'm so excited about!
