new human design just dropped... and new AU concepts

Basically in this AU, Dusknoir and Darkrai are closely working together in the dark future and some day find this random human child inside a bush, spying on them

this is based on the ingame cutscene in which dusknoir realizes who the hero is... but here it's also his long lost son who betrayed him a long time ago lmao

Darkrai regretting his choices (this kid ruined his entire life AND gave him a second chance... humiliating)

I'm still actively working on this AU, so hopefully I'll be able to post some more stuff soon!

My confession of the day is that I've never actually drawn Darkrai proper, so this took a bit longer to get done then expected. Anyway, onto the lore!

Darkrai is one of two Guardians of Sleep. It is he, along with Oneiros, who monitor the dreams of mortals and legends alike, ensuring all are safe when wandering the dream world.

Darkrai, while the cause of nightmares, is primarily viewed as the herald of fear, caution, and worry. With his power he ensures that the minds of all take the time they need to think, silencing impulsiveness and ignorance. He is also the herald of strange and off putting things, as nightmares are wont to be fearsome while sleeping, but strange when awake. He invites one to reflect on themselves, and thus creates healthier and happier populations overall.

Just as Oneiros lives on a floating isle, so too does Darkrai have his own people and kingdom, resting in a cavern deep within the earth and directly below Oneiros’ domain. It is here where many dark, rock, ground, steel, and ghost types gather. The two cities hold a close and communal relationship. Citizenship in one often means free reign over the other, and civilians are free to travel too and fro as they please.

Darkrai has a close relationship with Oneiros, along with Tapu Fini and Marshadow. The three are often seen visiting one another. In the City of New Moons, where Darkrai lives, they are honoured guests and are treated with the highest of respect.

You know what??? I think Pokémon really went off with the category of designs that's just "looking like a human woman in a dress". I know people are horny for some of these designs but I must stress I care a 0 amount about that. It's not my motivation, nor does knowing about it ruin these designs for me. I just like them. Just look at these.

I have been working on this piece on and off for so long and there was zero reason I spent so much time on it!! I had bigger plans for the rendering and decided to give up on it because I didn't wanna completely lose interest in the piece. I feel like this flatter version is just as nice, though!
