Although I barely make content for my connverse kids, there is a series of headcanons it's storyline follows so might as well jot it down. ¯⁠\⁠( ⁠•́⁠ ͜⁠ʖ⁠ ⁠•̀⁠ )⁠/⁠¯

I headcanon that Steven isn't really immortal and that the Pink Diamond Gem will become an heirloom of sorts.

I headcanon that each of the Diamonds is some kind of representation or parallel to what forms the Universe. I don't know what the others could be, but Pink is the organic parts. Organic creatures, specially the sentient/sapient kind, is a rarity in the vast ocean of space, which was why she's the smallest.

Her affiliation to organics made her much more sympathetic and fascinated with them, and she was captivated with humans the most. Eventually, after living with them and her envy and wonder for them grew, she had the desire to be one. Or rather, something deep in her gem wanted to.

While she can make a baby without giving up her form, she chose to sacrifice herself so the gem can be passed down to Steven.

However, as Pink/Rose and Greg are different species, there had been an inconvenience. The offspring exists, but the gem and organic connection is imperfect and unstable.* The gem needs to develop it's connection to the physical body more. This can be done by letting the body naturally learn to adapt to the gem/magic, then passing both the gem and the DNA (with that learned knowledge) down to the next generation; who's physically more capable of hosting the diamond. The result is not instantaneous so it's going to take a number of generations before the gem and body becomes perfectly fused. (Slow burn route, babyyyy)

Passing down the gem can be done in two ways.

One is the natural way: by giving birth to the child with the gem intact. Of course, this will cause the parent to die. (There miiight be a chance they will still live despite now not having a gem, if they have the technology for it. But it can get trickier down the line as the body and gem becomes more connected.)

The alternate instance the gem can be passed down is when the current keeper becomes deceased and their "Pink Form" (like the Pink Steven in Change Your Mind) appears. They will guard the gem until a progeny claims it. There's a possibility the gem rejects the new body though.

There's a cool down after the gem is passed down. Of course, that and how mentally ready the person is can affect how long the cool down lasts. (Which was why Steven's gem powers didn't come out sooner.)

I was thinking about when you inherit the gem in the second way, how part of the cool down works is that you can still see the prior host as an apparition others can't see. They can talk to you and stuff. (Guide you? Torment you? Be your friend? Idk) But they can't really interact with anything else. They disappear when the new host (keeper?) is fully mentally ready to take in the gem.

*I was wondering also. Either conveniently or by design, Steven has a positive disposition as a lower morale can disrupt the gem's balanced state. Unfortunately for our boi, he's the first meat host, so he has to learn how to keep a stable mind the hardest. 😞

reading fics makes me really want a storyline about chris being old enough to stay home alone. i mean the boy is like 13 now, he's been on a date, had girlfriends (plural). i think i started going home from school and being home alone for a few hours in like 6th grade so when i was like 11. but i mean i didn't live in la. and also never overnight. but like in the show there's always some mention or scene about who's looking after chris when eddies at work or goes out. and that made sense when he was younger obviously but now im like ?? so is this kid just never by himself?? he's like a full teenager now (or cusping pre-teen idk) he's probably gonna start wanting alone time from the adults in his life soon. i mean especially if the show continues on after season 8 he's gonna be in high school !

So the Kryptonian naming culture seems to have this thing where boys just have the family name but girls have their father's name then the family name (Eg. Superman is Kal El while Supergirl is Kara Zor-El, Zor El being her father). So he's my question, if Superboy Conner Kent/Kon El had been born a girl or turned out to be trans what would her surname be? Who's her daddy? They are a clone of superman with Kex Luthor's DNA also in there. Does the clone thing mean technically her parental line goes back to Superman's parents, so Kon Jor-El (feel there is an argument for this since superman's parents the Kent's take Kon in not Superman himself implying a sibling dynamic on the tree) or is it Kon Kal-El because there's also an argument Superman is the father, or are we in Kon Lex-El or even Kon Lex-Luthor territory with this? Or even Kon John-Kent?

Superboy being a boy means he can just be given the El and Kent names to signify being in the family without specifically saying how he fits in, but if this situation happened with a girl they would have to make a specific call in terms of paternal parentage.

also i decided to test how the nova monster tutorial fight would go if you're not Asbel--- I thought it might force you back to Asbel but instead it just lets you fight the monster without it ever going into the nova state (which is good as Richard doesn't have any nova-effective artes yet, I would have been stuck dealing 1 damage at a time). So the developers did at least workaround that mild soft lock.

Rollo ending up being best friends for life with Kalim. Listen, call me crazy but I feel like if anyone can get through to Rollo it's Kalim. Kalim has so many great qualities, and keep thinking of how heavenly virtues tie in with Kalim and how Rollo is kind of religious-crazy coded. Oh, I've actually talked about how I think Kalim and Rollo would interact with each other in a hypothetical situation where the casts of GloMasq and Playful Land were swapped! You can read those headcanons here. Even though Idia and Rollo are really strong foils, I think Rollo and Kalim have potential too! They're opposites in so many ways:

Kalim's extroversion vs Rollo's introversion

Not a nefarious bone in Kalim's body, meanwhile Rollo's willing to be so underhanded in order to achieve his goals

Kalim's boundless ability to listen and to forgive vs Rollo's tendency to bottle up his feelings and to blame others while ignoring his own feelings of guilt

Their UMs are also opposites; Kalim has cleansing water that refreshes and rejuvenates others whereas Rollo has flames that literally become stronger the worse he and the people around him feel

They're both big brothers, but Rollo has lost the only one sibling he had while Kalim has like 30-40ish siblings, all of them alive (the irony being that no one's after Rollo's life but a buunch of people would just love to kill the Asim family heir)

Together, I think those two would definitely be like. The Golden Retriever/Sunshine friend and the Black Cat/Grumpy friend dynamic. Granted, it might take Kalim quite some time to break down the fortress Rollo has built around his heart (we've all seen how stubborn that guy is www), but hey, maybe Kalim could eventually get through to him. I've been thinking about how falling in love would be so different for our apes men and women and for us human.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not talking about being a good heart or a complete jerk, because of course it is in both cases (apes and human) a very important part to fall in love. It's more about the differences between the practical and inner aspect of things.

Like, to fall in love, as human, we need to share who we are through conversations and activities. I do believe we fall in love thanks to our mindset and if the other person is able to intellectually increase our own mind. To fall in love, we care about the way people think and how they use their brain and if it matches the way our own brain works. Which leads to a lot of talks and brings all physical and practical aspects to a secondary focus. Your intellect comes first and your physical/practical aspect comes second.

Meanwhile I believe for our apes men and women it'd be more about practical stuff first and second if you have a good way of thinking it's a bonus. Apes will tend to show what they are capable of which leads to falling in love with them: are you able to bring food? Build a safe nest? Follow a small pray? Craft useful tools? Are you strong enough to keep your family safe? Apes will not talk but will show their skills. They will get impressed by your capacity to hunt, build, repair, heal and take care of others. Your intellect will come secondary.

I don't know if I'm clear in what I'm trying to explain? 😂

But this would lead to funny things I think when you and Caesar or Noa would try to court/flirt with each other.

Caesar would more or less understand this "inner" aspect in falling in love for a human so he'll cleverly let you on purpose have long conversation with him while he's showing off his strength or skills to craft a weapon or build a comfortable nest. It's like... you talk, he shows 😂 and he will subtly trying to make you do stuff so you show him your skills while he'll use conversation to explain you how to craft a weapon so he can show you his intellect as well.

Caesar wants you to fall in love with him through your own way AND through his way and vice versa: he wants to fall in love with you through your way and through his own way.

Caesar is deviously smart 😂

Noa... well, he would NOT get that inner aspect, he just thinks you're a talkative human. It's just another very human thing. But wait wait wait don't get me wrong Noa LOVES when you talk to him because he's a very curious ape and he wants to KNOW stuff and LEARN but he also see courting as a very serious thing and if you talk while he is trying to court you through showing you his skills.... can you please focus a little bit?
