Viltrumites lore drop made sense too mfs killed off a bunch of all and will actively kill off anyone who has a kid too unlike ya, at some point you're digging your own grave idk. But I didn't like the narrator. At all. They pushed comedy too much, Allen's liners did hit sometimes but not always, and falling flat on joke after joke, at least for me, wasn't fun. But I love Nolan having his "first" friend moment LMAO. Also more people should trick Nolan into doing the right thing lol, STOP AVOIDING EVERYTHING AND START PAYING CHILD SUPPORT LMAO. It did make me unintentionally snort when Mark commented how sad he would look this episode tho, because how can you tell? How? Your eyes and eyebrows are covered and don't move whatsoever. Eyes are often hidden, and Mark's body language isn't exaggerated enough to always tell what he's feeling as much as the VA is putting his soul into it every time, but maybe I'm being TOO much of a hater here?

The way I got caught up on our back and forth I almost forgot this, lol! AND OH MY GOODNESS, IMAGINE? I forget exactly what which point Debbie makes the beach offer, but I’d love when exactly in SU/SUF-timeline they’d go? There’s something so fucking funny to me about them going during the SUF-timeline and always narrowly missing the strange, Steven-shaped mental breakdowns in the back. I know those don’t occur in a single day, but it’s tickling me. How could they miss anything? I don’t know I just think it’s funny.

Though, post-SUF is interesting if Gems can see the similar “world on your shoulders”, Mark has going on! Steven can shunt the narrative in the Gems’ minds, which I think is neat, if I’m not misusing the phrase since the guy’s on the road far away. Or maybe it’s just before Steven goes and they stumble into each other. I’d kinda love Pearl and Debbie interacting, honestly, if they could talk about loving someone who hurt you, hide things from you, even when you thought you knew them so deeply, and they left you to raise a child. Pearl being in a well adjusted space, and Debbie still grieving.

Honestly, the gems could help train Mark, they’re got experience and similar-ish powers in strength, sturdiness, and they can jump/run fast enough for flying to be vaguely similar enough to lecture about, I think. Or Lapis Lazulis, haha! Peridot with her trash can lid! Garnet, I’d love to see if she told Mark anything about his future in vague, well meaning advice. Or even giving relationship advice considering Amber. Or, importantly, how to convince an entire reign to end their colonizing ways, lol. Is Mark perhaps willing to start a war, take advantage of being related to any leaders, or fake his own death to varying results?

In general, there’s something so fucking funny to me about Nolan, in the sake of comparison, being Pink Diamond coded. Like OH, did an important or well respected of the colonizing empire come to earth and learn the beauty of its people and nature, including faking/lying/omitting things about his identity and background to being in, only to feel conflicted when his responsibility still remained, and he tried to free himself from them? Yikes! We’ve been through that before! Like gimme Pink Diamond and Nolan outfit swap rn. This is tickling me so much oh my goodness.

Was musing on that "Villain Marinette's mock Gabriel" thing and had a fun thought.

There's actually perfectly good in character reasons why a villainous Marinette would be more dangerous than Gabriel without making him look like a joke. I'll be using my Lady Glasswing as a basis for this:

Noroo:

Gabriel regards & treats Noroo like a blend of animal & tool; there's no respect or mutual communication, he does not engage with Noroo at all unless he as to.

Marinette's relationship with Noroo is more akin to "Oh my wonderful, life changing, power granting wish fairy who comforted me in my lowest moment & gave me a path to saving my parents, I love you!"

It'd take a long time for their relationship to sour & before that, & because Noroo as an empath gets too caught up in their handlers emotional state, the two talk and theorize and otherwise collaborate a lot. As a result she has a really intimate understanding of her powers and limits early on.

Though some of her experiments & ideas, and especially results do eventually get Noroo like:

Noroo did not know they could do that and would rather not have known thank you!

The other reasons would be fairly straight forward as well:

Lady Glasswing: I suppose its true what they say, necessity is the mother of invention.

Or in other words, Marinette's not living in a fortress manor, with someone else to take care of all her needs, able to just sit around at home all day and is vastly, vastly more limited by her youth.

This forced her to get creative right out the gate, especially as she knew she'd be going up against a fully trained Guardian.

In contrast, Gabriel's plan for 90% of Seasons 1 & 2 was basically "Eventually I'll hit on the right combo of smart, strong & special to win, why hurry?" He tried a few gambits like the tv stunt, spying on Lila, Audrey.

But overall, it wasn't until Heroes Day & then when Nathalie was dying that he really got experimental with it and we saw how quickly he started doing bonkers shit like fusing people together and & orchestrating Chloe's breakdown. He just didn't feel that pressed to do so before hand.

Nothing left to lose:

The above also ties into a big difference in their approaches. Gabriel, regardless of the nature of his care for his son, Nathalie, nominal friends or fashion empire. Is invested in them,. It could be possessive & toxic, or more nuanced, but he has things to lose.

Marientte?

Her parents are dead or comatose, her grandfather wants nothing to do with her & sucks, her grandmother dips out 90% of the time cos she can't handle grief. She can't even speak the same language as the other side of her family who are not in the same country & she feels isolated & alienated from her peers & humanity.

She's very much pinned everything on "Fix my parents through any means necessary & all will be right again" and if she dies trying? Well she doesn't really care about that does she?

So, even ignoring that this pushes her further faster, it also means she's more willing to get stuck into it. Often joining Akuma in battle or using Familiars, pulling go big or go home schemes are her standard. She really only retreated once there were too many heroes around for her presence to be anything but a detriment.

Meanwhile Gabriel even though he had tons of advantages over Ladybug & Chat Noir, especially early on avoids risking himself as much as possible, Only leaving his base when he thinks he's already won or has no choice and as a result simply has less experience or otherwise, zealous drive by comparison.

So yea, end results?

Communicating with one's Kwami is good for growth.

Limits can foster creativity while no limits can inadvertently stifle it.

A disregard for one's self and others, while especially noble, is a good teacher if you survive doing it long enough.

KB as Luigi's toxic ex.

Me, @istadris and probably many others who have seen their post have headcanoned that King Boo is Luigi's bitter, toxic ex who is pissed off that he was dumped and wants him back. Last night I came up with a literal timeline of how everything went down from LM1 to LM3 and I want to talk about it.

Lm1: KB was just another villain trying to show superiority, didn't even think Luigi would show up to save his bro and didn't have any traps or plans to defend against him, didn't even think he had to, hence why only the boos and poltergeist were actively aggressive towards Luigi, as it was under KB's command since he didn't want him getting Mario back, who was the actual priced possession at the time. Heck, there weren't even any Toads to save from paintings which shows KB's main goal.

Aftermath: KB is defeated and is shocked that he was defeated by Luigi, the second, shadowed brother of the hero of the Mushroom Kingdom with only a damn vacuum and some tiny elemental spirits he found hidden in the mansion. He wants to be mad but he's more curious and intrigued instead. This then leads him to try and learn more about the green man, heck even getting into Mario Kart, Mario Party and other games like this to try and approach him after hearing that Bowser was invited to these events too (He couldn't get into Smash Bros cause then it'd be too many Mario characters).

Start and end of the relationship: Luigi and KB know each other more personally now and they it ends up with them dating. But, KB is still an egotistical king that wants more power and he finds the purple gem stone that he replaced the red one with and it makes him more insane and aggressive. Luigi is scared and has to break up with him, trying to do so as lightly as possible so KB isn't too hurt emotionally and they can still be friends. Take three guesses on how that went based on LM Dark Moon. KB is furious and in denial, not wanting to let go of Luigi, but when he doesn't succeed he's so enraged that he swears to get revenge for this and keep him forever.

LM Dark Moon: KB learns of the new, docile ghosts that stay calm thanks to the power of the floating crystal called the Dark Moon (which I honestly want to look more into) and shatters it to unleash chaos and gain control over them. By this point, he knew how Luigi was the only one who could actually take on ghosts and boos and that he was more closely associated with EGadd so he was certain that he'd be called to do the job. Also because he kidnapped his brother again. The toads were just there and why not trap them to make it more fun? Afterall, the Toads were proper assholes to Luigi in way too many games so he took this chance to punish them for it. I don't think KB created all these mansions, he just found them and used them as his arenas, letting the ghosts figure out the how each one operated and use it to their advantage, with the boos often keeping them in line to the king's goal at hand. Even so, it was obvious that KB was more focused on doing actual harm to Luigi, with the creatures he created thanks to his new gem, to controlling the ghosts and even cursing the broken pieces of the Dark Moon, to going as far as to open a portal and let so many ghosts in that it nearly lead to the dimension collapsing on itself! All of this in a single night! I also want to point out the part in the scene at Secret Mines, where the boos had the ghosts in those red crystals to make them more powerful, taunting them while they themselves looked scared and trying to free themselves before having all that power forced into them and driving them crazy? That probably gave Luigi PTSD since he went through something similar with a worse outcome. And to top it all off, when he had finally all the pieces and thought he could go back to the lab to prepare to get Mario with probably the help of the ghosts, KB sabotages the camera that pixelated Luigi and went him in a pocket dimension that no one would be able to reach them and he couldn't escape from on his own. Honestly, I loved how they didn't have KB move at all besides him floating and staring at Luigi like that the entire time he mocked him, it made him look way scarier, like the calm anger mixed with menace. KB probably tried to make a deal that he'd let Mario go if he came back to him and ruled the land with him but Luigi refused and the fight started, if he couldn't make Luigi come to him willingly then he'd look lovely in a painting above his throne.

LM3: KB. Has. Lost. It. He is royally pissed and more psychotic than ever. He has become more ruthless and desperate to make Luigi pay before he is captured, knowing he couldn't save anyone, especially his bro and the princess. He was truly lucky he found such a naive ghost to willingly and obediently do anything he asked for and made the hotel probably as luxurious as his own castle as a way to show Luigi that this was the luxury he could have had but won't be able to enjoy now that he controlled ever spec of it. He is set on punishing Luigi in the worse way possible, the bosses using terrifying methods to defeat him, all unique and terrifying. Have you seen the T-Rex one? All ghost bosses had some strategy but that boss fight was immediate with no strategy except brute force and desire to kill. And the hotel is filled with deadly traps, spiked walls that slowly close in on you, locked in a room with deadly gas, axes swinging from the ceiling to slice you, the ceiling being threatened to collapse on you in a slow and torturous way, the list can go on but you get the idea. Luigi is greater danger than he'd ever been and at this point, KB is set on having Luigi alive or dead as long as he's his. He is sick to double-death with him slipping away from him when none of this even needed to happen.

Ganon was not the bad guy! Demise exists you know! Demise was a manipulative asshole who used Ganon's desire for power, control, and some fucking stability in his godesses-damned life for once against him for his own gain, and he certainly did not need the help of dark* magic on his side to do it!

And do you guys even know how much fucking effort it took from all of us to break Demise's hold over him? Do you know how many late nights Zelda spent desperately searching through every magical text she could find in the ruins of the castle, praying to the goddesses for anything she could use to help? Do you know how many times Gan asked to be locked away for our safety and the kingdom's safety because he was so fucking terrified he'd hurt someone? Do you know how many times I sat up with him at night because he had nightmares about every time we couldn't beat him, and all those years in the castle with Zelda where he could have killed her? Do you know how damn hard my husband tried to beat Demise the whole time? Every single time you played the game and beat him, he was trying so hard to be better, to fight of Demise.

Imagine if there was a powerful magician who had manipulated you for millenia across every incarnation of you, across years and centuries, and every time there was a hero and a princess who came to fight you. Imagine if one day you realized you weren't getting anything from this person who promised you the kingdom, and started trying to fight back and the hero and the princess didn't recognize that. Imagine if these people you had come to care about immensely because they put you out of your abused misery could only ever kill you because they didn't know how to help. Imagine if there was a period of 100 years when you were locked in unending battle with the princess and she was finally able to see your struggle but couldn't do anything until the cycle repeated itself yet again because you both knew it was too late now. Imagine if you were transformed time and time again against your will into a beast and a body you couldn't control because He was and you had to watch as your own body killed your princess and your hero.

If you can imagine how horrible of a life that is, then you can see what my husband lived. He is not the villain. My wife and I worked so hard to get to the point where our husband could break Demise's control. Gan worked so hard to break it. He literally passed out from the effort of fighting that strong of a magic while trying to use a magic he'd never wielded before. Stop devaluing his fight, and stop devaluing that fight when he loses that fight.

Hey QuirkWizard! You have quite a few Quirks that produce a unique type of plant. As such, if you got isekaid into MHA, which Quirks would you want and why if you were going to try to become a hero at U.A? The Quirks are Solar Flower, Panic Plant, Sprout, Fruition, Magic Beans, Look Out, Red Roots, Overgrowth, Budding, and Seed Shot. Can’t wait to see your response! Also if you have the time it would be cool if you could also do it for if you were just planning to be a civilian!

How would you create a quirk based on the concept of seeds?

What an oddly specific type of Quirk. Still, I do enjoy talking about what Quirks I would like to have. For the sake of this, though I try to keep the discussion to seed based Quirks, so no "Grow Up" or "Garden", and I'll mention these from the perspective of a civilian, as a UA student, and as an established hero as appropriate. And right off the bad, I'm removing "Panic Plant" and "Red Roots". It's honestly hard to think of ways to use those Quirks that would be helpful and don't make me look like a super villain .

Seed Shot: On paper, this would be an affective option for hero work given that sheer variety of seeds that the user can make. And while I do think experimenting with the seeds could be fun, I ultimately think it's too offensively focused for my tastes. Plus that level of experimenting could get old fast.

Magic Beans: I would be tempted to take this option if I wanted to be a hero, especially at UA. They really don't have a healer and that is extremely valuable role to have since they're so sparse. Though realistically, there is no way I'd be able to keep up with all the shenanigans of Class 1-A with such narrow and group oriented power.

Budding: This could be rather useful in hero work. If the whole point is to do as little damage as possible, there is a lot of value in ending a fight before it even starts. Though it's a bit too passive for my preferences and it's overall going to requiring more setup then a lot of heroes or civilians would have use for.

Look Out: Besides me enjoying the fantasy of throwing out turrets to fight people, I think that this has enough options that that it can be varied as it is while still having room for growth. Sure, it's still pretty offensively focused, but it can still be used for defensive and security reasons, both in hero and civilian life.

Overgrowth: If I was purely going for the best hero possible barring personal preference, this might be the option. Being able to sprout out massively pillars of wood from any location, which you can then shape, would be immensely useful given the convivence of it and the variety of ways you can shape something like wood.

Fruition: This is like the middle ground between "Seed Shot" and "Magic Beans". It's a much needed support option for Class 1-A and other heroes, but there is enough variety in it that I can keep growing and evolving it as the story goes on and can more easily adapt to whatever the story has to throw at me.

Solar Flower: I could see this being useful for hero work or my own civilian life. On the one hand, it'd be a nice defensive ability that could be extremely valuable in disaster areas where power is scare. On the other hand, I don't want to pay for my own electricity and I get bragging rights for being so supportive of green energy.

Sprout: This is another one that could go either way with. I like the idea of just having this pure utility power that would keep me as far away from the fight as possible and only be of use in more support roles like information gathering and rescue work. Plus they would just be so fun to have around as little helpers around the house.

Just finished Demon: Recollection and I absolutely LOVED it! There were quite a few typos here and there, but it didn't take away from the experience for me. I was hoping the suit would have more customization options (along with what weapons and armor we could afford for our army).

What could have used more fleshing out though is the MCs powers. Having slayed thousands (and having their powers) yet still getting punched around like a bag by the God of War wasn't adding up to me (though having an invincible MC would be no fun if they couldn't be defeated and grow).

I'm hoping for the next book, our MC also has the option to use black market items (like the mutant serums or military grade bombs and gadgets) to improve her mortal body, base strength and prowess. I'd also like to see the heroes have more presence (kind of like My Hero Academy) because in spite of there being different classes of them, we only ever see and hear of a handful and their presence is basically non-existent in relation to other villains.

I was kind of hoping to become somewhat of a Robin Hood (killing heroes or corrupt officials but not being feared and hated by the public - or at least some of them). It'd be nice for our MC to use more of their powers, I was thinking along the lines of being able to change up their offensive and defensive fighting styles and using powers of different elements depending on the enemy being faced.

More options to genuinely hide the MCs identity. I find it funny that no one that they know made the connection, despite not using a voice modulator, wearing contact lenses, using body bronzer, changing their hair colour or wearing androgynous costumes to obscure their body frame and using the exact same persona they have in their unmasked life as they do in their villain one. I mean even a wig would do to throw them off their scent and make it hard to pin down their identity.

Please create a Poly or Open Relationship route! My heart jumped to my chest when Blur wanted to know what we were after sleeping together (because up until that point I'd totally been dropping the rizz on his brother Ember). All these men are too fine, how could 1 possibly satiate my lustful appetite? Especially since the MC is immortal and most of these dudes will probably kick the bucket before the end of the century anyways. More sexy time options! Being a villain is hard work and what better way to unwind than in the arms of a hottie with the stamina of a stallion?

Another idea, was the option to strengthen Godsin (so that the less corporeal they are, the stronger their might as a weapon becomes and perhaps the ability to awaken new skills or abilities).

Also, seeing that the MC supposedly has multiple personalities, why is it that we only ever see Azazel and Godsin? And why can't we channel Azazel's strength and ferociousness into our main identity without them taking over? I was hoping that by not allowing them to take over, I gained more conscious control over them, thereby subjecting them to my authority rather than being subjected to theirs.

I also saw that you mentioned the MC being imprisoned on another planet, if that's possible, then perhaps you could introduce some DBZ style characters from outer space to stir things up on Earth and give the MC a run for their money? I want to see more cyborg hybrids! And creatures of the deep and of space that were either slumbering or watching from the shadows! And I want to see more betrayal (between other heroes or dismantling of relationships due to ulterior motives or force of hand)! I want my conscience to scream and to be presented with options truly villainous and horrific!

What's interesting is that Sentinel is part of a bigger group, yet didn't see fit to call in reinforcements from other cities or countries for aid against all these varying threats. Moreover, just as the MC saw fit to create her own group of vagabonds, surely there are others similar and alike who may be preying behind the cicada to reap the benefits or planning to establish themselves as a competitior to Sentinel via mutant-cyborg hybrids?

I really hope to see you resume writing for the sequel! I know that you're busy with Forsaken, but would you be able to give a time frame for when we could expect to see the next installment in the series?

Sorry for this long wall of text! It's so refreshing to play an IF where I can be an actual villain. Kind of hoping to deepen the villain arc and reign terror among the masses in the next book! If I'm going to be called Demon, I want to be tearing my enemies limb from limb, painting the city walls red with their blood, littering the roads with their ashes and hanging their bodies for all to see as a warning cartel-style (I'd also like to use the Aegis shield! I appreciate this long wall of feedback. I already wrote something similar of to your suggestions (maybe like half, mostly about the underworld/crime org mechanics and MC's hidden identity stuff), especially the plot holes. Oh God the plot holes. I thought I had 10 at most, but I remember it reached 20. It felt like the story was caught in a crossfire between two Wild West outlaws.

The alien invasion one is interesting. I wrote something similar, but it was about MC's severed pinky (or toe?) regenerating, becoming a body of its own that evolved to survive the planet's harsh environment. It was driven by pure instinct, memories it never had, and a twisted obsession of reaching a blue planet that it had never lived in—and I tossed it in the "trash under the rug" folder.

I got a lot of crap in my folders I have to sift through to get to the actual decent stuff.

As for the poly route, I had a plan for that, but it doesn't allow for the MC to date the twoms simultaneously. Some of the non-immortals aren't open to the idea (if I recall correctly) though.

Anyway, I really like your suggestions. It narrows some of the things I wrote (mechanics-wise) down. I really appreciate it.

oh, right, shadowbringers! i'm overdue for another ffxiv bullet point vibe check. i actually finished it a couple of weeks ago, and then my sink exploded [long story] and i wanted to chew on it for a while. it's clear that this expac is an overwhelming fan favorite, so i figured i should formulate some more intelligent thoughts about it.

part of me worries that my shadowbringers experience was colored by how badly i missed the people and places on the source. more than the aether and gods and soul transference and all that stuff, what i really took away was a sense of loneliness. the first isn't my world. its citizens are strangers to me, though i recognize on a philosophical level that i should help them. even the scions - in theory, my closest comrades - have lived for years in the blink of my eye and become very different people. when did thancred become responsible? when did the twins grow up? i wondered what other NPCs were doing without me. all i wanted was to go home.

on the other hand, i read a theory that this is the point. the story wants you to feel cut loose from everything you know. are you still a hero in an emotional vacuum? will you still put yourself on the line to do the right thing? sure, your world will be doomed if theirs falls, but that possibility seems so huge and far-off that it doesn't register in your gut. i don't think that's the writing failing to connect with me or anything. if that's the intent, it's an interesting feeling for a game to evoke.

i may have also exacerbated that feeling by keeping my actual avatar isolated on norvrandt for so long. i mentioned earlier that i play around the game's day-night cycle, running missions based on when they'll feel most immersive. that extends to maps, too: if the story says i'm stuck in a place, i stay around that place until the story carries me elsewhere. i mean, i'll dip out for wondrous tails and daily cactpot and stuff, but i don't take big story vacations to jet around eorzea. i didn't "come back" from the far east in stormblood until doma was free. that's a lot of MSQ to just spend alone with your thoughts.

there's a storytelling paradox at work: the first's problems are so large and so bad that it's smaller and more personal when you become invested in someone's plight. i expected to care a lot about liberating ala mhigo because i'm so fond of raubahn as a character, and i did. i didn't expect to feel the pity that i felt for, say, kai-shirr, or runar's unrequited crush on y'shtola. it comes on slowly and quietly.

i don't know. it's a curious story. it's a melancholy story. it's a lot more experimental than the expacs that came before it. it'd probably be worth it to new-game-plus it at some point to pay closer attention to the individual character arcs.

same goes for emet-selch. he's a curious villain. i don't sympathize with his methods, and i obviously have no romantic interest in him. but i keep mulling him over. he keeps lurking in the back of my mind, which means that his writing succeeds by virtue of being memorable.

to my mind, everything around amaurot contributes to that success. amaurot is where it all starts to come together for me. it's a beautiful, odd place - art deco in final fantasy? who knew? - and the pinnacle of the arc's surreal "this is a dream, but tangible" tone. you can tell the team wanted to go all out with the ascian reveals they'd been building up to for years. i wonder if they had fun designing it.

Super silly crossover AU idea I had

Had an idea for a Pokemon/Spider-Man AU. Imagine if there was an AU where the ScVi characters (at least the MCs and Star Leaders... and Iono cus an Iono Screwball is a nobrainer) were all Spider-Man characters. it's cringey as hell as a concept but IDC that's part of the charm, and I think it's an idea that could unironically work given how flexible the Spider-Man formula is.

Juliana would be the Spiderperson for this universe, and I'd have Arven and Nemona be side heroes, not sure which but I'd happily take suggestions, and Penny well... that leads me into my next point

Now let's get the obvious thing out of the way, Team Star + Sinister Six = YES. Thinking Penny could be Doc Ock, Eri could be either Kraven or Sandman, Atticus could be Chameleon, Mela could be Molten Man, Giacomo perhaps Electro (you can't have a Sinister Six without Electro and I will die on that hill), and Ortega could be a Goblin variant (Don't think there's such thing as a Pink Goblin in the Spiderman universe but screw it)

The raidons could maybe be symbiotes BTW? Mirai as Venom and Korai as Carnage, just to keep the vague colourscheme going. I also got plans for Florian too but I ain't gonna say those because it'd be a fun twist if I do it (and nah he ain't this verse's Eddie or Cletus, I'll say that much, though I think you might be able to guess who WILL be those two, given the raidons are symbiotes.)

Anyways that was my silly Sar/Vi Spider-Man AU idea, might write an AO3 series based on this if there's any interest. As stated earlier I'm looking for suggestions on who to make Arven and Nemona, I don't mind basing them on villain characters but I'd rather they be heroes/anti-heroes so I can keep characters a bit more consistent, I also don't mind making them either superheroes or just version of Spiderman's friends, though I'd rather both be one or the other.

4.) Do you have any OCs? Do you have a story for them?

I don't have a whole lot of OCs, and they do tend to be more supporting characters than main when I write them.

Jay Garrick, from Complicated and Messy, is an OC (if based loosely off the canon Jay Garrick from the comics to some degree) and I will get back to him eventually. The real Flash of Earth 2, twin brother of the villainous Hunter Zolomon, and rather traumatized from the time he spent in the iron mask while trapped in his brother's lair. He's currently depowered, but I do have plans to fix that. He's gay, unlike the canon Jay Garrick of both the show and the comics, and used to have his own small lab where he managed to do science impressive enough that STAR Labs - and thus Harrison Wells - was quite interested.

I've actually got another story in mind for him, entirely unrelated to Complicated and Messy, where Jay ended up working at STAR Labs because Harry didn't give a damn about him having an evil twin. He and Harry wind up friends and Harry is who Jay goes to when he discovers his speed post accelerator incident. It'd be a Jay/Harry fic, where Harry realizes pretty much immediately that the Jay he meets on E1 is damn well not his Jay, but actually Hunter in disguise. But I've really only got broad strokes ideas for this fic, so it remains unwritten for now. (Alternatively Ronnie lives in this fic and proceeds to fix-it a few things... or they could be two separate fics, I'm still work shopping this a lot.)

I've also got Dawn and Jay Allen from Homeward, who'll eventually get more fics written about them. They're identical twins and the Earth-90 versions of the Tornado Twins, the children of Barry Allen and Tina McGee. In this 'verse their dad (not the E3 Jay Garrick) was who Hunter had kidnapped and imprisoned behind the iron mask and Barry of E1 helps him get home. Dawn is trans - something that wasn't directly mentioned in Homeward though I did try to hint at it a bit - and both she and her brother do hold a strong resemblance to E1 Barry, whom they've both will come to see as a sort of older brother figure pretty quick.

Herobard probably counts as an OC too. The Eobard Thawne of the new timeline created when Wellsobard messed too hard with the timeline. He's well adjusted, is at times more father than brother to his sibling Robern (after their parents died when Eo was 16 and Robern was 6), and perhaps a little too eager to time travel to meet his heroes... thought at least he did intend to meet them from a distance to prevent any interference. Intentions that did not last, but only because he wants to protect the timeline. And, well, Barry's pretty cute, kind of hard for any version of Eobard Thawne to stay away.

8.) How slow is a slow burn?

Slow enough to feel natural without dragging anything down. I do enjoy a well paced slow burn, but go too slow and it starts to feel like it's being slow for the sake of dragging things out and not because it actually makes sense. So depending on the fic this could be the entire story or just part of it, but as long as it doesn't feel like characterization or plot are being sacrificed on the slow burn alter...

I'm more likely to read slow burns than write them, but they can definitely be fun to write when the mood strikes me.

30.) Describe a fic that almost happened, but then it didn't.

I had a fic idea for KotOR/KotOR 2 that heavily remixed both games up into a single plot. The Exile and Atton were a smuggling duo, Revan still had amnesia but no false memories like in the game (instead found wandering the lowest levels of Kashyyyk and semi-adopted by Jolee afterwards), and lots of other changes. I really liked the concept for it, but I think it was too ambitious for me at the time. I ended up dumping the file - something I perhaps regret a bit now, but it was frustrating me a lot to the point I did need to let it go. I still remember enough about what I was considering for it that I could bring it back as a fic series one day, but my interest in writing for that fandom comes and goes a lot so I doubt I'll be interested in it enough to do so.

One More Step Out of the Pit Fluff!!!! It has less angst than the other two by a long shot. It isn't all happy and sunshines of course. It takes a but of time for Tommy to get used to his situation. There's also Tubbo destroying the city. That was a thing that happened.

Summary:

It had been Tommy and Tubbo for practically forever. They clawed their way out of hell together. They discovered their superpowers together. They started working for the Superhero Guild together before even coming of age. Tommy probably owed Tubbo his life ten times over. So, when the three supervillains he'd been assigned to bring in managed to take Tubbo hostage, well, there was really only one thing to do.

He knew, of course, he was signing himself up for torture and death by offering that trade, but that was okay.

It'd have to be okay.

New Deceit's an Old Design First of all: Fuck this fic. Just fuck this one. I can't say anything but aahhh just. I hope you like feeling utter despair.

Summary:

Summary:

So maybe applying for a job at the heroes' base of operations when he could be arrested any moment for being an illegal vigilante wasn't Tommy's smartest move. But he gets to work with his idols — Ghostbur, the Blade, and Philza Minecraft, Angel of Death himself, just to name a few — how could he turn down that opportunity, honestly?

And keeping his two identities separate can't be that difficult, really. It'll all be a piece of cake.

It’s been about two months since Tommy’s world collapsed around him, and now he’s dragging The Angel of Death up the stairs of his apartment building, because the idiot got stabbed and then passed out in the alleyway next to his house. And he would rather not have to walk by a rotting corpse every time he has to take out the trash. •Okay listen

•Midoriya is god damn horrified when he hears what Endeavour did/does to his kids. He had obviously guessed that the second-best hero there is who is training his family to also become heroes would have some extensive regime but what Shouto explained wasn't "training" it was just abuse.

•He immediately offers Shouto and his sibling's a place with him and his mum without a moment's hesitation. They're not as rich as the Todoroki's or live in as big a house with as good food, but they're happy. •And when Shouto declines, Izuku isn't really sure what to do.

• it's not his place to tell any media or higher authorities, it'd drastically change the lives of Shouto and his siblings and would affect all of them the rest of their lives. He feels like he can't do much and a part of him feels like doing nothing means he's condoning the abuse that still happens in that home like the emotional neglect and things Shouto may not have mentioned. But he can't do anything about that right now, simply because Shouto won't let him. And while Izuku is fighting every instinct he has which is to take the Todoroki siblings out of there and into a therapist's office, it's not his place to do that.

•So instead, he does what he can for them, like offer to go places more so they're out of the house. Offer free anonymous therapy sites. Have their own improv therapy whenever needed. Promise to be there for whoever trusts him and for those who it may take longer to trust him.

•But with all his good intentions, he starts to bite off more than he can chew. Even when it's not in the midst of midnight therapy or distracting days out, it's constantly nagging at the back of his mind that he wants to do more and he isn't doing everything he can. He doesn't want to "fail" at being a good friend, since he hasn't had many experiences to base off (or any for that matter) but he is running out of emotional room.

•Contrary to the Todoroki household, Inko Midoriya actually notices when her child is going through some rough times and tries to do her best to help.

•I imagine Inko and Midoriya have a close relationship. With no other reliable parent figure in the house, they spent a lot of time together. Not only are they parent and child, but they are also friends who enjoy each others company. Inko may not always understand his fascination with All Might but she'll always ask questions and prompt him to go on about the differences in All Might's costumes and moves, even if she knows all the answers already in the same way Izuku may not understand why she enjoys sewing so much ever since she made him his hero costume but will not hesitate to help her go shopping for and carry new fabrics as she talks about the colours and texture helping boost peoples confidence. (She wants to get better at sewing so she can make a new costume for him that's better than ever before.) •And because Inko and Izuku were rather close, she knew his tells. she'd learnt well from their daily game nights to know when he lying and when he was hiding things. But that was during games. This was far more strenuous. But before she rushed in and crowded him, Inko thought that if there were really something he didn't want her to know, then she shouldn't know. So long as it doesn't hurt him. So, respecting the fact he is now a teenage boy and not a child anymore, she knew he was smart enough to make his own decisions.

•But also being herself, she still wanted to help, even if she didn't know exactly what was going on.

•At first, she thought Izuku wasn't sleeping enough because of the stress of UA so she'd plan days to the seaside or mini-holiday or they could try to make a new dessert or do a movie marathons to distract him from it. And she always took note of how very time she offered, he'd always insist some way or another that the Todoroki's join them which of course she had no quarrels with, she was delighted he loved spending so much time with his friends!

•When that didn't help she offered to get him a tutor, maybe he was anxious about his studies? She didn't trust her own education enough to tutor him as he was always impressing her with fun trivia and general knowledge but she'd taken a break in her sewing hobby to save up some money to be able to pay for a tutor.

•But when he began not eating as much, mind always preoccupied with something else than his usual hero ideology and theories, the day of the annual parent-teacher meeting and Izuku hadn't uttered a word since he got home, she sat him down on the couch, held his hands, his scarred and trembling hands, and she asked him. "Are you alright?"

•She's asked this many times before, every time he came home from school, every time she found him up in the middle of the night shakily drinking some water while staring at his phone as if expecting some death from the family. But this time? •This time her words echo in Izuku's head, getting louder and louder with each reverberation, picking up speed and other voices with every hit to his mind, the sound of text messages, quiet telephone calls, rushed breathing, stifled words, hearing footsteps from the other line, the need to help all drowning him in a cacophony of utter helplessness. •And he crumples against his mother, clawing onto her shirt like a life-jacket barely keeping him afloat above the ocean of noise only he is in and he cries. The tears stain Inko's cardigan and she wraps her arms around him, pulling him onto her lap like she used to when he was a child, she holds her son, her baby boy, as his tears dampen her clothes and his voice breaks choking on sobs.

•It was a long day.

•Izuku and Shouto had talked before about telling Inko or an adult or just anyone but there was always some reason, some excuse why it couldn't happen yet. It would be a decision all the siblings would have to agree to as it affects all their lives. Fuyumi was always hesitant, so cautious and making sure if anything were to happen nothing could be left to chance and all outcomes had to be planned. Natsuo wanted whatever would help everyone the most, and if no one was ready to do anything right now, then he'd wait. Shouto thought long ago that if what his father did to his family ever came to light, it would be brought up for the rest of his hero career and he'd never be able to truly escape his dad's hold if it always followed him like that. And until he met Midoriya, that's what he thought for years.

•Shouto was warming up to the idea of saying what happened to him specifically to someone. To see what would happen.

•And that is what Izuku could let slip. The things Shouto had told him at the sports festival, the reason for his scar, his spiteful technique and motivation to be a hero. •It was a long day. •The moment all was said and done, that he had run out of tears to cry, that he had ruined his mother's cardigan by stretching it with his grip and made it soggy with his sobs, that he could breathe without a hiccup or tremor interrupting him, he was completely drained. There was a mix of hollowness after spending so long building it all up, unsure every step of the way whether he's doing the right thing or not and the relief of finally letting there be room for him to breathe.

•But in his hollow chest was a stab of guilt, anxiety, crawling back up his throat and blocking his lungs like a thick mucus of worry. Had he done the wrong thing? It wasn't his place to say- He should have talked with Shouto more about this- Was he wrong to have done nothing so far?- Oh god he's done nothing right- this could hurt them-

• "Shhh," Inko gently held the back of his head and rubbed small circles with her thumb into the back of his neck, like she used to to do calm him down as a child, it still worked "It's-..." Inko collected her thoughts. It was certainly a lot to process, she had her suspicions but she thought she was being paranoid. She'll learn to trust her gut more. "It's not alright right now, but one day it will be. For you and for them."

•And that worry in his chest turned to blunt guilt, he shouldn't be the one crying while Shouto and his siblings have withstood literal torture all their lives, he should be stronger, he needs to be stronger to help them-

•"You are children. And none of you should have to deal with this. I know you're growing up faster than I can blink and you're being a hero more and more every day, but that doesn't mean you were prepared for this exact situation. They train you to fight villains and criminals and how to save those in immediate peril who want saving. Not thins like this." Inko continued to speak softly, pulling Izuku closer and soothing the back of his neck "Thank you for telling me and I can understand why you wouldn't want me to meddle as it may be out of my depth, but, two people helping them is better than one."

• Midoriya told Shouto what had happened and apologised for spilling too early, apologised for not doing enough, apologised for being less than open about the emotional and mental space he had to spare, promising to be more aware of it so long as Shouto continues to trust him and talk when needed. Shouto was confused as to why Midoriya was apologising so much as always and despite the apprehension in his movements, Shouto had spent enough time with Inko to trust her. And also to know that while Inko is kind, that isn't all she is.

•Shouto had seen her repay the kindness people had shown her tenfold with gifts, acts of service, compliments, reassurance and more. Although, speaking from the perspective of a concerned parent, aren't all of those flames a safety hazard! what if you were near a flammable thing like, oh I don't know, civilians clothes in a place you know where said civilians are tightly packed together, or there could be someone well-known to have a flammable quirk nearby or just a building's structure being, on the whole, a rather flammable thing?" Her head turned to the overgrown vermin who lead the school who had entered the room upon hearing there was a commotion "Not that I doubt UA's defence measures and predicted disastrous occurrences as no such thing has ever failed in the past. It's just the safety of children and the future generation of heroes after all." and just as quickly turned back to Endeavour

•"You know I noticed there are plenty of other pro-heroes here who are just fine in their everyday clothing because they recognise this get together is about their children's achievements and not their own. Why, if I didn't know any better I'd say you really are that insecure in your title slipping because that's what being a hero is all about, the title, that you'd distract entire families from the point of being here just to pay attention to you because it's not like being the second supposedly best hero there is credits you any attention."

• Enji barely had time to stop the flames protruding from his hero suit from dying out as peoples heads turned to pay attention. By now every student had pulled out their phone to record the situation.

•Nedzu was on his way over, laughing awkwardly ready to diffuse the situation but had miraculously been needed for a sudden important event in the teacher's lounge and was immediately escorted by Aizawa and Present Mic.

Always a commodity, never a human being, not a single person in your life thinking you’re worth a damn without your quirk so you made it your entire personality until you developed your own actual personality because of course you, the Number Two hero would outgrow such a childish nature. Oh do excuse me if that seemed rude, I'm a seamstress as a hobby you see so I tend to have an eye for when things are just wrong in every way. Honestly, if you didn't parade your title everywhere you go I'd mistake you for a villain on sight. You see, I'm only a seamstress and not a hero like you as you love to flaunt no matter the situation or need for it, but it must be so rewarding to save all those people every day and return to a home with your loving children and children who want to do the exact same thing and be exactly like you because you must be such good role-model and parent to have accomplished so much in your career and of course spent enough time on each of your children to help them grow to be happy, full of inspiration and their own dreams to fulfil. Oh, and of course your wife who must be so proud of the person you've become!"

• By this point the flames had been sputtering at random, a rare purple and even blue flamer erupting once and again as this woman continued talking and the parents out the corner of his eye who thought they were out of his sight nod their head and faces contort into realising the full weight of the truth they already knew but now understand.

• But Inko was nowhere near close to done, Endeavour could hear as much when she took a small break to smile and take a bigger breath to continue. • And blinded by the public's disapproval of everything he had convinced he had Done for the good of the civilians, he could feel the ground, just like his title, being pulled from under him as quicker heroes hit the back of his knees as Inko swung her handbag with the metal buckle across Endeavours face while she was being pulled safety away from the punch Enji hadn't realised fast enough he had thrown.
