Hi! We're a plural sideblog from Theta's main account. This blog is meant to be a safe space for us, away from our main account where we are not openly plural. I (Arachne) made this blog for the rest of us just to talk about being plural, ramble a bit about our origins or our interests. Just whatever comes to someone's mind. We are a fictive heavy system.

gonna answer for dianthus aster since I've been brainrotting over him

📝: How would your story in canon go? How would you influence the events of the original story?

Of course, Aster affects just about every arc he's in in some small way, but there's three big divergences from canon, being three brand new arcs. Yap central ahead.

The first is the Floraison Empire Arc, between Drum Island and Little Garden. The Straw Hats find themselves in a kingdom called Celosia, the center of the Floraison Empire. (It was founded by a Celestial Dragon many years ago, but they don't learn that until much later) They come into the middle of a struggle for power between two different branches of the Dianthus family for power and status as the 'main' family. Caught in the middle is a sickly 'princess' who is actually a boy being forced to present as a girl to avoid shaming their family by being a weak man. They end up getting involved in the fight, and the princess Aster stands up to his family and asserts his own identity. He gets banished at the end of the arc, which is why he decides to sail with the Straw Hats.

The second is the Ironwood Island Arc, between Enie's Lobby and Thriller Bark. It's an arc dedicated to both developing Aster as a character and fleshing out his relationships, specifically with Zoro, Sanji, and Franky, surprisingly enough. The Straw Hats come across this island that was once known for its beautiful vegetation and plant life, but is now an overindustrialized mess. Its natural resources are being overharvested by the Marines, and the project is headed by one Rear Admiral Dianthus Aciano. Aster's uncle! He was the younger brother, so he wasn't given main family status and became a Marine to earn his own status. When he hears that the weakest child of the main family is on his island, he challenges him to a traditional Dianthus family duel, with main family status on the line. Aster tries too hard to stick to tradition in order to prove himself, using a single sword despite being best with his scythe, and he gets his ass kicked for it. The Straw Hats are ordered by Aster to stand by and to not get involved, for the sake of his own pride, but Sanji can't stand by and ends up intervening just in time to save Aster from being killed. The intervention nullifies the sanctity of the duel, and Aciano retreats for the moment. Aster is upset, saying it proved all the terrible things Aciano said were true, but it's Zoro who gets through to him that he should fight how he wants, not how anyone else wants him to fight. It also lets Aster and Franky bond, as Franky gets the urge to act like an older brother to him. He goes back and starts another duel and fights his way, and kicks his ass lol.

The third is unnamed bc i haven't thought about it too much, but it's going to elaborate on how the dianthus family technically has celestial dragon blood and thus that makes aster a celestial dragon. and also how he's known that and been hiding it.

☕️: What are the most common plots of shipping fics between you and your f/o?

There'd be a lot of Zoro and Sanji trying to one-up each other in showing their affections, bickering in their typical canon fashion, as well as situational equivalents of Aster putting them in a get-along sweater LMAOO

For Aster/Sanji, there's a lot of bonding over similar traumas and caretaking fics that go both ways. They both like to prove their usefulness to others, and that manifests with each other a lot

For Aster/Zoro, I imagine there's a LOT of Zoro being the most bumbling idiot who doesn't even realize he has feelings for Aster and everyone makes fun of him for it. He's bad with emotions but he's Trying okay

Alicole S2 Scene (My Imagination):

Alicent has just hastily returned to her chambers after making love with Criston. She cannot find sleep and is kneeling beside the warm fireplace, musing on her thoughts. There’s a knock on the door. It startles her.

"Who is it?"

"It's only me, your Grace." She flinches at the sound of his voice. So she’s returned to being just “his Grace” again. It was only a while ago when he whispered her name like a prayer, between breaths.

"Not now, Ser Criston. The hour is late. I must get sleep."

Alicent gets behind the closed door, her hand on the handle. Oh, how she'd want to open that door and let him in. But she restrains herself.

"I just wanted to make sure you’re alright, Alicent."

The pause that follows feels like an eternity. The crackling from the fireplace as it heats up is the sole disturbance of this midnight silence.

"I wish to wake up next to you once," he says as he presses his head softly against the door. "I've never wanted anything in my life as much as this."

Alicent's voice is trembling. "Please Ser Criston, not so loud. What's happened between us tonight can’t happen again."

"That’s what you said last time too," he now whispers.

Alicent finds a weakness in herself that she cannot explain. "No one must find out, no one," she implores him, and then whispers more softly, "Meet me tomorrow morning, at the sept."

"Pleasant dreams, your Grace," he smiles and turns around cautiously, his shadow reflected against the candlelit wall.

He is certain he hears her reply: "Goodnight to you too, Ser Criston."

Our host has a bit of something similar I think? (idk, they're not here right now lol) They would usually have to connect with a character first, but they'd keep coming back to some of us & our sources, like me. I've personally noticed they have an easier time with creating when they can sit with us and talk with us about our stories. Because some of their biggest and most important stories are OUR stories. It's my story becoming their first proper series (wip). It's Alto and Francis and Apollo and Ukulele's story/stories being a way to help the four of them get through the body's job. It's their kingenic sidesystem sitting and posing in our innerworld as they draw their subject. It's an amazing thing to see, and it's a special thing we get to do with them, create something so amazing and so personal.

Yknow. Our whole life we have experienced stories, and especially CREATING stories, through plurality. As a small child we'd spend hours wandering outside "daydreaming," having conversations with ourselves, vividly imagining story beats and scenes and scenarios, shocking ourselves with twists we'd come up with and dialogue that would just "appear". "What if X happened" becoming "I Am this character right now and this Happened to Me". We could generally put this back in its box when called back to "reality" but there were a handful of times when we couldn't (Claire looking at u). Nowadays we have a very hard time NOT introjecting the protagonist of any story we create and a handful of their closest loved ones for good measure. The way we "get into the character's head" is by Becoming Them. The way we write dialogue is by recalling, reacting, and sometimes by roleplaying amongst ourselves. The way we come up with new ideas is by finding them or remembering them. Our art is born of our plurality, and I can't imagine what it'd be like to create without it.

Alicole Headcanons, Vol 1:

Criston Takes Alicent for Midnight Swordfighting Lessons:

This one takes place just a while after the incident at Driftmark. Aemond has been maimed and Alicent is very insecure and worried about the safety of her children and her ability to protect them. She does not confess her fears of course, but one day when she is lost in her thoughts she lets slip that "I am not even a dragon rider... what am I doing here?" Criston senses her fears and sends a maid to wake her up one night. Alicent complies, exiting her chambers worried that something serious has happened. She finds Criston in the arena, dressed in his armor, the armor she had personally engraved for him (this is a separate headcanon!).

"What's wrong?" she asks.

"You're going to learn how to swordfight," he grins.

"This is so dumb, Ser Criston. I am going back to my chambers," she replies affirmingly and turns her head to reach for the torch on the wall.

Criston throws the sword at her.

"Fight me!"

Alicent is startled as she catches the sword with both hands. She is intrigued by its weight pulling her down. She had never swung a knight's sword before... never thought it was so heavy. She marvels at its well-polished blade where her features are reflected in the candlelight.

CLANG!

Alicent launches an attack which Criston dodges successfully.

"Try again my Queen," he states determinedly, "Your eyes on me this time."

Alicent looks at the blade again. It is sparkling, sharp, and pure; like a sacred promise she can trust, it seems to guarantee that it will not disappoint her. She locks eyes with Criston. He holds his blade up, ready to defend. She swings the sword in Criston's direction once more.

CLANG!

Criston has to swerve and dodge the blade. He seems genuinely surprised.

"Well done, my Queen!"

This effortful exertion has left Alicent panting and crouching on the floor. She slowly gets up, sword in hand, marveling at the extent of its power. She gives Ser Criston a little smile.

"Your turn this time."
