The one with the sweater

So I've been thinking a lot about The Sweater™, as one obviously does.

First time we see it is when Alex talks to Nora about the kiss.

Next time it's on Henry, and he wears it both in the V&A and at the airfield.

But then Alex is it wearing it again, after their mails were leaked.

So. Henry stole got the sweater from Alex at the Labor Day Weekend at the lake house (September 1st) the latest, maybe sooner (Paris?!). The sweater of the man he loves, that maybe still smells like him (I'll go with the lake house weekend, for angsty reasons). He wears it as a comforter in a challenging situation (V&A), and when he tells Alex Goodbye ("Go win an election").

The storming of Kensington Palace was one week after Labor Day (Alex: "Last week we where happy"); Election will be November 1st; Alex' speech is one week before that(Zahra: "We'll see in a week"). Between the leak and the speech can't have been more than 3 days.

So. As sweet as I find the idea that Henry sends a parcel to Alex with the sweater, I LOVE the idea that they at least met one more time between the airfield scene and the leak (September/October), and that Henry, after wearing the sweater himself, gave it back, and now Alex wears it to feel close to Henry and I am a mess.

Eddie and the ulterior motive sweater

sometime after things have settled down and healed but before they’re together yet, Eddie finds a sweatshirt to replace the yellow one that was long forgotten at lover’s lake. The new one is a hoodie and way too big but it’s yellow so he just grabbed it without thinking about the differences. and later he does think about it and Eddie maybe did this on purpose because his deranged gay little brain just wants to climb inside the sweater and cuddle with Steve like that. so maybe the sweater is too big on purpose. what about it. it’s not like he’ll say any of that or like steve would do anything but laugh it off so. it’s fine and totally normal. just a dude replacing a bro’s things bc he panicked one time and dropped the sweater in a lake right before fighting monsters from another dimension. normal.

he’s being so normal about it that he ends up just throwing the sweatshirt at Steve’s head. and honestly steve’s touched that he remembered it and replaced it at all. anyway i haven’t written this conversation yet but somehow through intense mutual pining and some convenient chilly mornings they do end up sharing the sweater on the couch

turns out eddie’s deranged gay little brain had the right idea and holy shit this is actually the magical sweater of putting Eddie to sleep. meanwhile steve’s deranged bi little brain actually chills tf out while he has eddie acting as a weighted blanket and knows exactly where he is and knows he’s safe and has free reign to play with his hair while he naps.

I hate scrolling thru "alt fashion" webstores because like. Half of it is genuinely cool fashion pieces I likely wouldn't be able to make by hand and are understandably expensive, and then right beside it is what basically looks like a gildan sweatshirt with safety pins stuck in it for the same price and it's like. Bruh.
